OOC: Thalin, feel free to add in more before this post if you want to.
Aly started interviewing people, fortunately the Aquan security people had more or less locked the place down so anyone who might have seen anything was still around. Aly and Lieutenant Los started the interviews.
The first person Aly approached was an older lady, that is older than Alyana not older than Ryat. She seemed to be some sort of low-level aide, but Aly wasn't clear on who she was an aide to. Aly knew from experience that most people tended to ignore aides so they usually saw and knew a get deal more than anyone gave them credit for. The woman was quite clearly in some sort of shock as her eyes were a little glazed and she was barely pausing for breath as she gabbled.
"And then the door burst open and then these people came in, there were five of them, or was it six? Maybe it was four. then these people came in they were dressed in black and I never saw there faces. they were wearing masks or maybe it was some sort of make up, I'm fairly sure they were water dwellers though. then I saw that one of them had the regent over his shoulder. why am I saying his? I don't know, they could have been female. I don't know if they didn't see me or if they just didn't care that I was there. and then they walked out into the hallway and then I saw them turn into the area when the underwater craft are kept and then...
Aly patted the woman's hand suddenly realising that she was about the same age as one of Zedan's daughters. Aly shook her head slowly "Thank-you for telling me, we'll do our best to get the regent back." Aly stepped away from the woman gesturing for one of the security guards to keep an eye on her for the moment. She pulled out her communicator and flipped it open, speaking quietly.
"Commander Ryat to Doctor Winchester, I have a patient for you. She witnessed part of the abduction and seems to be in shock. I don't think she'd physically hurt but I'll let you be the judge of that."

"I believe the necessary data was sent to your tricorder, I hope it got there safely and I apologise for neglecting to tell you." Aly said formally.
Looking down to his tricorder, he saw that the daily duty roster had, in fact, flashed across the screen that usually displayed a printed graph. Nodding in agreement, he smiled in a rare public exhibition of his emotions. “I thank you for doing such.”
"Commander Zarath this is Ensign Karvin Los our new Security Chief.”
The Andorian nodded as he set his tricorder back into position. He still carried the older, strap bearing type, not having had a handheld one assigned yet. “Of course, it is also a pleasure to meet you and to make your acquaintance.”
Bowing his head carefully, he removed himself from the spotlight so that the others might receive their proper due of attention.
"Commander Zarath I want you to investigate the area where the abduction occurredand see if you can get a trace on the escape vehicle. Ensign, you and I are going to have a chat to anyone who saw anything. Both of you feel free to call back to the Excalibur for any resources you may need. Any questions?"
The Andorian shook his head, “No, I understand my orders perfectly. I trust that this should be resolved in only the best possible way, in a model Starfleet fashion. Do you agree? I trust that you do.”
He soon found his body being broken up into component parts in the transporter beam and thus shot down to the surface of the planet in a matter stream that happened in the blink of an eye. However, he wondered. How could Alyana Ryat utilize the transporter; was she not a trill?
Finding himself on the planetary surface as he had been, he looked around slowly with a grimace. Taking a tricorder reading of each individual with his aforementioned device, he sighed slowly and shook his head. He had noticed from the readings, though not a medic, that the local populations had very much been hiding something.
It was as though they had not been themselves, but rather, was in something very similar to the condition that was named as being shell shocked. It was strange, as though they had been in some traumatic case and had now been trying to recover from that fact, and yet, they were failing as to the case of it.

Ephrem had never been this angry before. The doctor had relieved him of duty due to medical reasons. Ephrem had tried to fight him tooth and nail, but it was to no avail. Even though he was no longer in command of the Excalibur, Ephrem was determined to help out anyway he could.
"Ephrem, the doctor relieved you of duty," Barbara said once she saw her boyfriend enter the bridge," you are sick and we all want you to get better."
"Barbara, I'm not dying here and I can help," Ephrem said as he walked towards his former station. He would be able to scan much of the area that the Regent had been kidnapped. Even though he disliked the man, dealing with him would be a lot better than dealing with his enemies.
"Commander Ryat, I know that I have been relieved of duty, but I know that I can help," Ephrem said hoping that Alyana would agree with him.

Aly's communicator beeped. She sighed to herself so far very few of the other witnesses had seen anything. It seemed that whoever had snatched the Regent had taken off in an aqua-shuttle and gone somewhere... She flipped open the communicator and was quite surprised to hear the Captain's voice. Commander Ryat, I know that I have been relieved of duty, but I know that I can help," He said
"Of course, sir. She quickly brought him update on the investigations. "So in short, sir, I think we're looking for an aqua-shuttle possibly diplomatic type. We'll continued to investigate from here. Can youv see if you can trace them on sensors?"

Kavrin was glad when he finally finished with the strange man, Kavrin had gotten little from him yet the old man had gotten a great deal about Alyana from him, Kavrin could not help but wonder if this old man knew something of the trill. Walking around he found little to no information from those around, most were too scared to remember anything or where not even there in the first place. Kavrin was walking towards Commander Ryat when he noticed something that did not belong there, moving over to the plant that stood near the entrance to where the regent had been kidnapped Kavrin leant down to the bowl and picked up a small device, had he been human he would not have noticed it from where he was, but he was not human. Turning the device over and over he could not work out what it was, it was definitely not a weapon, nor a scanner of any kind he recognised so moving towards where the commander was Kavrin handed the commander the device, but not before clipping a button he had not seen. “Commander, what do you make of this?”
<Tag Aly>
Kavrin was still holding the device while Alyana looked it over when he noted something odd, Kavrin looked around and noted that they were not in a building anymore but on a coastline, “umm Commander, we seem to be elsewhere” Kavrin knew he was stating the obvious but he did not know how to explain it.

Looking over to Commander Ryat, Zarath sighed carefully, reaching for his communicator, “If we are going to look for this shuttle, I am sure that we could do it better in a water borne craft. Pausing for a moment, he gave an optical examination to those who were still traveling with him and exhaled once more, “I trust that you all realize that there are such craft aboard. I was testing an Aquashuttle, ironically, at the beginning of this mission. However, there is another one.” Pausing for another moment, he thought to himself before continuing, “Have you become comfortable with the scouter gig yet? It’s a boat craft. Instead of taking it out as a shuttle, I am sure that we can have it beamed down via a cargo transporter.” Zarath flipped open his communicator, hailing the ship. “Warrant Officer Zarok here,” came the voice of the Vulcan scientist. “This is Zarath. I require the scouter gig to be beamed down. Can it be placed in a cargo transporter?” “I suppose sir. That is a logical request, I assure you.” As the green colored water lapped up its foamy mouth against the lips of the dry land that had been formulated on this still damp world, the characteristic shimmer of a transporter matter stream struck against the stony earth. The bold, sharp angular lines of a vessel that was meant to sail seas, instead of stars, formed out of the energy and became whole. The solid mass rocked back and forth, seeming to be at the will of the ocean masters of its well being. “Should this free our journey, Commander? I believe so, that it shall.” OOC: The boat should look something like this – it’s the scouter gig from the actual television show. memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Image:Scouter_gig_wide.jpg

Doctor Winchester had only recently cleared his sickbay of security personell when a call from Commander Ryat informed him he had another patient that needed seeing to.
"Commander Ryat to Doctor Winchester, I have a patient for you. She witnessed part of the abduction and seems to be in shock. I don't think she'd physically hurt but I'll let you be the judge of that."
Winchester shook his head only five minutes on the job and he was already wishing he was back in the academy when he had no responsibilities. Jason pushed the small comm. Panel on the wall and said.
‘Understood Commander.”
Winchester turned to the Nurse and said. “Have the transporter room beam her aboard then bring her here.”
The nurse nodded her head before rushing out of sickbay, Winchester could have gone down there, but that was unlikely he had a loathing for away teams and away missions, preferring to send the other doctors who were onboard. If Jason never joined an away team that would be fine with him.
Ten minutes passed before the nurse returned with the woman form the planet, Jason pointed to the closest bed and said. ‘Please sit here miss.’
The panel on the wall sprang to life with her pulse and heartbeat readings as well as other information Jason scrutinized.
She was indeed in shock as Commander Ryat had predicted, Jason picked up the hyposray and loaded it with a mild sedative, the woman looked scared but Jason smiled as he said. “It is perfectly safe I assure you.”
Before waiting for her to answer he pushed it against her neck and her eyes slowly closed before she collapsed on the bed, the readings with her pulse and heartbeat immediately settled down and returned to a more normal level. After an hour the sedative would wear off and Jason was sure that her answers to any questions would be of more help after she had a little rest.
Jason walked over to the comm. Panel and pushed down the button and said.
“Winchester to Commander Ryat, the woman you found was indeed suffering from shock…She is sleeping now you will be able to get any information you need after an hour.. Winchester out.”

The woman was transported to the Excalibur, Aly took a moment to look around the area. If the kidnappers had taken the Regent to the shuttle area then she would have thought that more people would have seen something... He communicator beeped, she flipped it open,
“Winchester to Commander Ryat, the woman you found was indeed suffering from shock…She is sleeping now you will be able to get any information you need after an hour."
"Thank-you Doctor, I look forward to hearing from you." Aly replied. She was feeling inordinately tired, she hoped it was something simple like stress rather than something awkward like her neurotransmitters being out of balance.
"Winchester out.” Aly was relieved that there was nothing seriously wrong with the woman. Commander Zareth was organising the aqua-shuttle, so that was in hand.
She noticed that Lieutenant Los was attempting to get her attention. Aly walked over to him. “Commander, what do you make of this?” Aly looked at the small device. It certainly wasn't starfleet manufacture. Aly had the feeling that she had seen something similar somewhere before...
"It seems to be an old style device," she said slowly trying to think.
“umm Commander, we seem to be elsewhere” It was a strange statement, Aly almost didn't process it but she looked up and found that what Lieutenant Los had said was correct. They were indeed outside somewhere. Aly's first thought was for Ryat, her symbiont was fine with federation transporters and trill transporters but this wasn't either of those. Still she hadn't collapsed and wasn't in agony so it seemed Ryat hadn't minded this trip either. Her second thought was remembering where she had seen a device like the one Karvin was still holding. Aly had never seen it, Zedan had. It had been about thirty years ago, Thellis Beta... Harad Gilles's group had used the preset transports to 'hop' away from trouble.
Aly gave a wry smile. "I believe the device you found was a preset-transporter. It is simply was way to link to the main transporter network to link two places. Very inefficient and rather dated..." Aly hoped she hadn't said too much, Security officers were good at questions after all. In order to distract attention she decided to try to get in contact with the ship.
She flipped open her communicator and hoped that they were within range of the Argo relay, she knew the range on the preset wasn't long but...
"Commander Ryat to Excalibur."

"Could you scan Argo for myself and Lieutenant Los, we seem to have been transported some distance from the palace. Could you refocus the search for the shuttle with the regent using this location as the centre point."

"I believe the device you found was a preset-transporter. It is simply was way to link to the main transporter network to link two places. Very inefficient and rather dated..." Kavrin had not heard of such technology before, and was more surprised that the communications officer had, Kavrin was stuck between feelings of worry for his symbiont as well as looking around the area to make sure it was safe for his superior officer. Thankfully for Kavrin the area seemed to be unused or barely ever visited which he found odd because the land looked quite fertial and beautiful so it could easily be either a farm land or a park. Deciding these thoughts were unnecessary Kavrin looked around to see if there was anything obvious that needed investigating, if that transport had been used by the abductors then why did they not use it to return with their target. “This area should be considered part of the crime scene." Kavrin turned back to the commander “I agree Commander, though i wonder, why did they not use the device to return once they had the regent? Why did they discard the device?”
<Tag Aly>
Kavrin began fiddling with the device, looking for some sort of button or control that would set off the device. Kavrin did not like the idea of the commander doing it so he began the slow process of finding the button, after a fair few minutes he found a button but after pressing it the device did not respond. “Commander, in your experience do these devices require to re-charge after use, it would explain why they did not use this to escape”
<Tag Aly>
As Aly began to respond a security team appeared in the blue light of the transporter. “Thank you for getting here, if we were in trouble i think we would both be dead” Kavrin had already forgotten the commander was present as he began dressing down the security staff, “Did you even notice we were gone? Or did the Captain inform you?” Kavrin watched as the highest ranking officer shrunk away without answering the question. “I thought so” Kavrin then remembered that Aly was present and changed his tone “Right, i want this area secured and begin looking for any evidence, we can assume the abductors came here before transporting into range of the regent to abduct him. I want a report on any finding you had from the site of the abduction in 20 minutes and i want a report as to our disappearance and any actions you took in 10 minutes, now go before i feel like putting some high gravity training on the roster for the trip back to star base.” Kavrin did not know if it was his threat of training or the officers wish to get away before their chief decides to yell at them some more. “Commander, i think it best that you return to the city this area is far too exposed and we do not need to give the abductors any more major hostages.”

“I agree Commander, though I wonder, why did they not use the device to return once they had the regent? Why did they discard the device?”
Thalin Zarath walked over, nodding with awareness as he bowed his head carefully, “Do you mind if I was to provision an answer for that question? I have been examining several tricorder readings, and have discovered something that I believe to be of some note to this case.”
He paused, looking over those who were standing there.
“For whatever reason, the amount of energy on this planet fluctuates. As in the produced energy, though not in the way you might think. It is as though the objects here are currently operating on the principles of radio frequency. I am sure you have heard of microwave power resources? Yes, they convert energy in the form of ancient crystal receivers.”
“Therefore, drawing on the natural electromagnetic pulses of the planet’s body, they cannot draw too much greatly at a time.”
“Commander, in your experience do these devices require to re-charge after use, it would explain why they did not use this to escape”
Thalin looked back, “And if I may speak again, these devices do recover a re-charge. It’s because of the clandestine nature of this operation that they work this way. One could have too much of an energy charge up, since a passing starship would notice that, and assume this planet’s industry is growing at too fast a rate. After all, only the United Federation of Planets is helping Argo out. Someone would think it was a Klingon Imperial plot otherwise.”

Thalin Zarath walked over, Aly hadn't even seen him arrive. 'must have beamed in with the security team' she thought to herself.
“Do you mind if I was to provision an answer for that question?" Aly indicated for him to speak, she was grateful for the distraction. "I have been examining several tricorder readings, and have discovered something that I believe to be of some note to this case.”[/color

Aly winced last thing they needed was the Klingons being involved. Still, she had a bit of information to offer. "My experience Lieutenant is that preset-transporter do recharge but they can be slow. If you wanted to beam out shortly after you'd beamed in you'd need a second device."
She looked around silently while Lt Los chewed out his staff. If this was where the kidnappers had taken the Regent and then gone off somewhere.
“Commander, i think it best that you return to the city this area is far too exposed and we do not need to give the abductors any more major hostages.” Aly held up her hands in mock surrender. "I'll go back to the city." She looked over at the science chief.
"Commander Zarath. I want to to co ordinate with the Excalibur and get the scouter gig transferred here ready for a survey of the area. The Regent needs to be found. Let me know when you're ready to begin"
Aly beamed back to the city and started looking around. There was more going on here than had been discovered and she had the uncomfortable feeling that it was somehow related to what had happened thirty years ago.

The Andorian nodded slowly, thinking about what she had just said. He also assumed that she was thinking about the same thing that he was – what a disaster it would be for a Klingon crew to actually get involved in this now. There was probably nothing worse that he could think of. Well, except perhaps Romulans.
“Yes, that is correct. I suppose you could have two charged devices. Such objects would not be a power fluctuation as they would be inert. Inert power is easy to hide, as I am sure it would be easy to surmise.”
"Commander Zarath. I want to to co ordinate with the Excalibur and get the scouter gig transferred here ready for a survey of the area. The Regent needs to be found. Let me know when you're ready to begin"
The scientist nodded quickly, “I will have the vessel beamed down at once and have it set up. I will call you on my communicator as soon as I have it ready to be used.”
Moving away from the other members of the group, and back to the waterside that he had initially been on instead, he bowed his head for a moment, removing his communicator to indicate to Petty Officer Third Class Yinal Benesh that it was time to beam down the craft. As he did so, there was a glimmer of light and the water shook underneath the weight of a materializing vessel.
The gray, metallic form of the small craft soon shown well against the greenish blue color that the water subjected. Wings seemed to extend into the water from the central console and seating accommodations of the dinghy that caused it to stay afloat. Reaching from off of the side of the soggy shoreline, he soon boarded into the vessel and looked about.
Removing his communicator once again, he looked around and released it, “Commander Ryat, this is Commander Zarath. I have the scouter gig in position and am ready to begin transport. Over."
He then took his seat, placing his hands onto the controls as he made a realization – he could, once again, see colors.

Aly walked around the building. She was uncomfortably aware of the security personnel that were still conducting interviews. She joined them, it seemed no one else had seen anything of any use. She rubbed the back of her neck something was making her feel twitchy and she didn't think it was the security staff.
She sighed, not noticing the grey haired man on the upper level who was taking more than a passing interest in her. She flipped open her communicator
=/\=Commander Ryat to Doctor Winchester, I don't mean to distract you but is there any news on your patient?=/\=
Tag: Jason
Aly closed the communicator, she knew she was just passing time waiting for the next step. As she put her communicator back in her pocket it chirped. At the same moment she turned hearing a scuffle on the other side of the courtyard. "Commander!" one of the Security staff yelled in her direction.
=/\=Commander Ryat, this is Commander Zarath. I have the scouter gig in position and am ready to begin transport. Over.=/\=
Aly replied as she jogged across the yard hoping that she didn't sound too breathless. =/\=Thank-you for updating me Commander. You and Lieutenant Los head off. I'll join when I can.=/\= She closed the channel before he could ask further questions.

Thalin Zarath frowned as he heard the channel shut, feeling that was a nonverbal way of telling him that he simply talked too much. Walking back into the craft, he reached his legs high so that he could climb in safely, trusting that Lieutenant Kavrin Los would join him soon enough anyways.
<tag Lieutenant Kavrin Los>
Zarath reached his hands over the controls of the vessel, sighing to himself quietly as he did so. Frowning gently, he contemplated to himself over the entire condition. This act of metacognition sought to only further exasperate the idea that he was acting far too slowly. However, he understood that this was the fastest that he could act.
Never the less, the lingering reflection that he was too slow plagued him, only added to by the fact that he, perhaps falsely, believed that he spoke in too winded terms.
Exhaling, discovering that this was all just the discovery of one of the many differences to be found between the races of the United Federation of Planets, he understood that it all should be left only to the mind.
Argo was the important factor here, and it was towards Argo that all this energy and thought should be focused. When the chips were on the table, everything else needed to be pushed aside. Those chips needed to be brought forwards.

Kavrin listened to the two Commanders’ talk over the comm., Kavrin had planned to be present when the water ship left but had not had a chance to tell Thalin yet. As Alyana finished Kavrin gave his last few orders out and after the security team moved off to begin their final checks of the area for clues Kavrin boarded the ship, as Kavrin took a seat Thalin began the process of launching “Commander, has this ever been attempted?” Kavrin did not really want to know the answer but felt he should ask simply for his symbiont to remember if this should go wrong. <Tag Thalin> As they began to make their way down into the water, Kavrin had no idea what Thalin was doing but he understood that he was slowly tracking something as they seemed to be following a fairly constant direction. Kavrin left Thalin to do what he had to and began checking the signal strength with the ship ‘seems strong for now’. After almost an hour of changing direction, Kavrin spotted what they were heading for, a small underwater cave. Kavrin was about to ask if that was where they were going when the ship moved into the cave and began to make its way though, as the ship began to rise he heard Thalin say that there was air up ahead and life signs. “Is one of those life signs the Regent?” Thalin responded to say he could not tell, not what Kavrin wanted to hear. As they left the ship Kavrin had his phasser out and was looking around, the chamber was fairly jagged with a large amount of cover for someone moving around the chamber, and near the far side from them was a large metal door that lay slightly open, Kavrin did not like this, they could easily get pinned down in this sort of place. “Commander, i want you to remain here while i scout ahead, if you hear phasser fire i want you to run for the ship and call the Excalibur for reinforcements” Kavrin looked at Thalin until he nodded in agreement. With the knowledge that the scientist would get out of trouble if it arose Kavrin began to make his way across the chamber hoping to get to the door without being noticed, Kavrin began dodging between rocks checking around each one with his phasser in hand ready to fire back if he got shot at. At first Kavrin was moving quite well towards the door and then he spotted lookouts near the entrance to the door and a group of men near the door arguing with two Klingons that were obviously wanting something the men were unwilling to give. “Your little plan would not have worked without the help of the Klingon Empire, so all we ask is for the Regent to be placed into our care, our ship is perfectly safe and shielded from these Federation rats” the Klingon, who Kavrin noted was high ranked, a Captain or at least the Klingon equivalent, was moving around to take a man that lay on the ground tied up and out cold. Kavrin looked on wondering if he should do something before the regent was taken by the Klingon, ‘oh this is going to get me demoted for sure’ Kavrin moved his phasser and shot at the Klingon, who feel immediately out cold. As soon as he returned to his hiding place he heard the disruptor fire on the rock he was hiding behind and watched as large parts of the rock began to fly off under the impacts ‘I hope Thalin did what I asked, I will not be able to hold them long’ moving to shot again he was able to hit one of the captures before he felt a blast hit him in the shoulder. Falling to the floor Kavrin watched as the remaining Klingon move over to sneer at him, “Well a Federation rat as a captive, I am going to enjoy this” Kavrin watched as the Klingon laughed horribly when everything went black. <Tag ALL >

“Commander, has this ever been attempted?” Kavrin did not really want to know the answer but felt he should ask simply for his symbiont to remember if this should go wrong.
The Andorian smirked a bit – an action, and an expression, that his serious nature usually did not allow for him to demonstrate. That being said, under the right circumstances, he did have it in him, “Well, then, if you are asking if a vessel like this has been used before,” he asked as he looked up from the controls, “Yes, the answer would in fact be yes. In fact, the last time that this planet was visited, by the USS Enterprise, they used a craft like this one to get around. They also used an aquashuttle, which was previously used in this mission by our ship.”
As they began to make their way down into the water, Kavrin had no idea what Thalin was doing but he understood that he was slowly tracking something as they seemed to be following a fairly constant direction.
Thalin Zarath had kept his hands onto the control stick, moving them across the panel that was in front of him so that the small craft would speedily change directions across the water, constantly in search of that blip on the monitor. It was like in times of old where a surface craft was desperately chasing after a submarine that was armed with some explosive device that threatened the very security of the remainder of the world. Taking his job at the level of its original seriousness, Zarath froze and thought carefully to himself.
Zarath finally exited the vessel as he left it unpowered in the cave. Gazing about the cavern, he noted the cut canal into the cavern as though the water had been purposefully flooded into it. That being said, the green fluid must have flowed into the antechamber long before now, and was probably created, as well as abandoned, when the Argoans first adopted to their new form of life as water breathing creatures.
“Commander, i want you to remain here while i scout ahead, if you hear phasser fire i want you to run for the ship and call the Excalibur for reinforcements”
Zarath frowned, “Why exactly would I do that?” the Andorian asked, “A warrior race does not deserve this sort….right. Forgive me. I must think practically.” Nodding once more, the Andorian again decided to stay put. Never the less, he did in fact draw his own sidearm. “Better safe than sorry,” he said, trusting that Kavrin Los would understand that sentiment well.
Kavrin moved his phasser and shot at the Klingon, who feel immediately out cold. As soon as he returned to his hiding place he heard the disruptor fire on the rock he was hiding behind and watched as large parts of the rock began to fly off under the impacts ‘I hope Thalin did what I asked, I will not be able to hold them long’
Thalin Zarath hesitated for a moment. His heart told him to rush in there with a drawn phaser, and fight beside his comrade. Never the less, he decided not to do so. An order was an order after all. Instead, he jumped behind a stalactite and kept himself firmly planted behind it.

Aly gingerly approached the sounds of the scuffle on the other side of the courtyard. Three security officers were pinning a struggling man to the ground. She looked around her eyes focussing on one of the guards who wasn't involved in the struggle.
"Report Chief"
The young, really he was Alyana's age but they all seemed young to Ryat, human's head whipped round.
"Sir, This man was found hiding in unused diplomatic quarters. Attacked Master Chief Harris and tried to run." Aly nodded curtly.
"We need to know what he was doing there as soon as possible." She winced slightly as the man's head impacted with the floor. "In the mean time I'll get some medical staff down here to make sure he's not going to die on us. He could be our best lead."
She pulled out her communicator and flipped it open. =/\=Commander Ryat to Doctor Winchester, I need a medical opinion down here as soon as possible.=/\=
She filled him in on the situation then added. =/\=Is there any news on the woman?=/\=

Pacing Sickbay waiting for the young woman to awaken naturally Jason was getting restless. The woman was sleeping soundly and he was very reluctant to wake her up himself.”
He was about to take a seat in his small office when the comm. System came to life with the voice of Commander Ryat.
=/\=Commander Ryat to Doctor Winchester, I need a medical opinion down here as soon as possible.=/\=
=/\= I will be down immediately. =/\=
She filled him in on the situation then added. =/\=Is there any news on the woman?=/\=
Dr. Jason Winchester sighed heavily. =/\= No she is still out of it. Winchester Out. =/\=
He pushed the comm. Panel on the wall with his fist closing the comm. Channel.
After grabbing a med kit he raced down to the transporter room. Looking at the young crewman manning the station he smiled.
“Transport me down to Commander Ryats location please.”
The young crewman nodded as he said. “Yes Sir.”
Jason stood on the transporter padd for a few seconds before the all to familiar tug of a transporter beam embraced his body.
A few seconds later Jason stood a few metres from Commander Ryat, he quickly walked up to her and spotted the man now on the floor pinned down by security personnel. Jason knelt down beside him and opened his medical kit, he pulled out the hypospray and filed it with the necessary medication and injected it into the mans torso.
Jason looked at the security men pinning him down and said in a voice of non amusement.
“you barbarians can get off now he isn’t going anywhere he can no longer move his legs.”
Jason took out his tricorder and scanned the man who had panic in his eyes. “Don’t worry the feeling will come back soon.”
Jason stood up and looked Commander Ryat in the eyes as he said.
“he has a mild concussion he is going to be fine you should ask your questions now.”

Thalin Zarath still felt as though he was a warrior who had been under betrayal because of the way that he was currently forced to respond. However, he also understood that a good warrior does not disobey the commands that he is given. Therefore, he weighed the two circumstances that seemed to be upon him. He did not wish to be a coward under any case. However, he equally did not want to be any sort of insubordinate individual. It was a difficult decision that he was faced with, and he realized this. However, a third path of action was starting to flourish within the chasms of his mind.
Retreating back behind the cover of the rock, he ran behind the forward skirmishing to spot the previous watercraft that the pair had been traveling in. Jumping over the bend, his forehead beaded up with sweat from the steamy cavern as he turned the controls for the craft, sitting upright at them once more. Slamming the throttle into the forward position, he braced himself as he felt the rooter begin to flurry with rotary motion, forcing the craft into a blur as it jutted out across, suddenly, the skin of the water that started to skim away from the vessel that ever increased in its more rapidly insane velocity.
It would seem that he intended to ram his vessel into fray, cause damage to those in the scrimmage, and provide a means of escape for his compatriot in one fell swoop. However, the margin of that and turning himself into a fiery wreck on the stone wall was one that was very close.

Alyana opened her mouth to speak when her communicator beeped. With an exaggerated sigh she flipped it open.
Barbara Gold's voice came over the comm line. Aly noted on the first word that the normally calm officer was barely holding herself together.
=/\=Commander Ryat, Thank goodness, the Captain has collapsed again. We're got reports of weapon fire approximately 100 kilometers from your current position....=/\=
Aly looked at the Doctor, "Do you want to go back to the ship to deal with Captain Santos or do you want to stay here."
Tag: Jason.
She knew that she wasn't very good at giving orders. Zedan had been though although he had possessed a natural gravitas that Aly sadly lacked.
=/\=Commander please monitor the weapons fire and try to isolate the source. Also can you locate scouter gig?=/\=
=/\=Yes, sir=/\= Barbara seemed pleased to have something definite to do.
Aly stared at the communicator for a second uncomfortably aware that all eyes in the courtyard were on her.
=/\=Commander Zarath, Lieutenant Los. Report In=/\= Her voice was clipped and urgent. Aly was worried abbout what was happening to the science officer and the security officer. There was a niggling feeling deep in her gut (that had nothing at all to do with Ryat) that the two officers were hip deep in whatever was going on out across the water.

Thalin Zarath was knee deep in it – literally. Wading around in the water, partially in a daze, he quickly looked for the fallen form of his departed comrade. Finding Karvin Los unconscious, but otherwise still well, he grasped the aforementioned form underneath his arm and started to swim in the direction opposite of the explosion, his uniform quite charred and threadbare in areas considering what had just occurred. Shaking his head to try and clear his mind of the fiery wreck, Thalin Zarath was absolutely sure he was going to be in a huge snag of a dilemma for this one.
Finally, he heard fateful words stemming over the comlink that was established. He desperately tried to get to his communicator.
=/\=Commander Zarath, Lieutenant Los. Report In=/\=
The Andorian swallowed slowly, still wading out of the cave with quite a bit of resolve. Ducking along the sidewalls of the exterior portion of this abovementioned area, he looked about, sure that he was now in the clear.
“Zarath here, Lieutenant Los is currently incapacitated and I am unsure if I should try to revive him, considering the circumstances. We were attacked, repeat, we were attacked by unknown hostiles. He told me to stoop, and I had to, despite my honor. I had to follow orders. He sounded like he was going down….I wrecked the scouter gig in the process. I am assuming this mission will now require the Aquashuttle for a proper investigation. What is the stipulation of the Aquashuttle?”

As Thalin concluded his conversation with the ship Kavrin began to stir in the arms of Thalin, as Kavrin regained consciousness the first thing he did was try to struggle out of the Andorian’s grip unaware that he was in safe hands. Kavrin felt extremely weak and could not maintain his struggling for long, when he opened his eyes he realised who was holding him, he almost wished he had a weapon on hand. “What is our status commander, and didn’t i tell you to get help and to stay out of trouble” Kavrin had noted the condition of the commander’s uniform but was unsure how he had burned parts of it while in a wet cave.
<Tag Thalin>
While he listened to the commander Kavrin began to do a self inventory of himself to check that the more major things were working and good, his arms were moving ‘which is good’, his legs seemed to listen but his strength was failing him fast. It was at this point that he realised the reason for his new found weakness. “Commander, are we in contact with Commander Ryat , if so would you mind giving me your communicator so i can speak with her about what i saw, i think it best that you scout the area, beings as you’re the only one able to walk at present and defend yourself which you must have done well to get me out of the mess i got myself in” Thalin seemed happy but the sentence as he pulled out his communicator then went off to the edge of the rock face they were hiding behind and began looking around.
Opening the communicator Kavrin knew what he had to do and was sure he was probably breaking half a dozen rules, and probably will need to break another half a dozen when he got up there, unless she knew how to deal with this. “Lieutenant Los to Commander Ryat” Kavrin waited for a response.
<Tag Aly>
“Are you in an area where i can speak without being overheard, i need to inform you of something, and quickly” Kavrin waited a short while before she responded that she was indeed alone. “Commander, i am sorry i did not inform you when i arrived, i am fully aware that the Trill are a joined species, i am not sure if you are yourself, but i am in desperate need of some Trill aid”
<Tag Aly>
Kavrin let Aly speak before he continued, he knew she must have gone though the same things he had had to when he wanted to leave. As she asked what he needed that only a trill could provide Kavrin knew he was not going to be liked after this “Commander, my original name was Kavrin Arvel, i was born on Trill, and was raised there, Los is my symbiont, the reason i am telling you this, is because something is wrong with Los, i am unsure what to do. Please get here soon” Kavrin felt his strength give way again and found himself unable to move, conscious but otherwise lifeless as he felt the link between himself and Los growing weaker and weaker.

“What is our status commander, and didn’t i tell you to get help and to stay out of trouble” Kavrin had noted the condition of the commander’s uniform but was unsure how he had burned parts of it while in a wet cave.
Thalin Zarath smirked, leaning his head back, “Oh, you’re thinking…well, right…uhh, when fire and water meet, there is only ever steam and that’s all I think I should say about this. Yes, I was ordered to stay put. I know very well that you would have had a much worse fate had I not acted though, would you not? Please, I ask you just this once to be honest about all this…I know it must be hard to succumb as I did.” Andorians always seemed to have that strange aloofness.
“Commander, my original name was Kavrin Arvel, i was born on Trill, and was raised there..."
Zarath thought carefully, pausing for a moment as he did. He sighed slowly, thinking about what he had said in the wake of this new information, “What I had said before…I certainly do not mean it to have patronized you. Please forgive me. The…idea that you…if there is anything I can do to assist as well, I am here. Even though I may not always show it, I am a living being.”

There was some crackle over the comm link before Aly heard the science officer's voice. =/\=Zarath here, Lieutenant Los is currently incapacitated and I am unsure if I should try to revive him, considering the circumstances. What is the stipulation of the Aquashuttle?=/\==/\=You did the right thing Commander.=/\= Aly said, in what she hoped was a reassuring manner =/\=Try to get to a safe location. I'll get the Aquashuttle to you as quickly as possible.=/\= Aly muttered a few choice curses in a few languages as she closed and reopened the communicator. =/\=Commander Ryat to Excalibur=/\= =/\=Excalibur here Commander=/\= It was Barbara Gold's voice on the comm link. =/\=Commander. Get the Aquashuttle prepped and transported as near as possible to Commander Zarath's last known location. There has been shooting in the area and the Commander and Lieutenant Los need extraction. They've taken refuge in a cave that as I understand it is interfering with our transporter locks on them.=/\= =/\=Affirmative, Commander. I'm on it, the Aquashuttle will be down in a matter of minutes. I'll contact you when it's prepped.=/\=Aly was grateful that the woman did not argue, no doubt there would be questions later. Aly closed her communicator a second time and was putting in her pocket when it beeped. Aly pinched the bridge of her nose wondering what had happened now. Some instinct was telling her that it wasn't going to be good news on the other end of the link. She flipped the communicator. =/\=Lieutenant Los to Commander Ryat=/\==/\=Commander Ryat here, go ahead Lieutenant.=/\= Aly was pleased to hear him awake and speaking but there was something in his voice that prevented her from just being happy =/\=Are you in an area where I can speak without being overheard, I need to inform you of something, and quickly=/\= Aly glanced around. The courtyard was empty of Aquans now, she took a few steps further away from the starfleet group. She turned the volume down on her communicator. =/\=It's safe to talk now.=/\= =/\=Commander, I am sorry I did not inform you when I arrived, I am fully aware that the Trill are a joined species, I am not sure if you are yourself, but I am in desperate need of some Trill aid=/\=Aly's heart skipped a beat, how could he know that. Still questions could come later he was asking for help and apparently felt she could give it. =/\=What can I do to help?=/\= =/\=Commander, my original name was Kavrin Arvel, i was born on Trill, and was raised there, Los is my symbiont, the reason i am telling you this, is because something is wrong with Los, i am unsure what to do. Please get here soon=/\=Aly thought she felt a shiver ripple through Ryat. This wasn't good. Aly was field-medic trained with a very heavy emphasis on Trill physiology but never had she thought that she would be using those skills on someone other than herself. She patted the hip pouch where she kept her tiny medkit. Whatever else she might be she was the closest thing to an expect on Trills that they had. =/\=I'll be there shortly.=/\= Aly promised over the comm link. She looked over her shoulder. Doctor Winchester was still with the prisoner. "Doctor I need you." Aly called, her voice had become curt and clipped in her nervousness. "Commander Zarath and Lieutenant Los have been attacked the Lieutenant is injured not sure about the Commander. We're going to find them." Her tone did not brook argument and although she knew that he must be bursting with questions she flipped her communicator cutting the connection and opening a new one. =/\=Commander Gold, this is Commander Ryat. I need that Aquashuttle and a pilot now.=/\= =/\=Ready to send it down in ninety seconds Commander=/\==/\=Good. When It's on the surface I need you to transport myself and Doctor Winchester to the shuttle.=/\= =/\=Affirmative. Transporting you now.=/\= The was a moment of grainy haze and then Aly and the Doctor were on the shuttle. She looked at the young man in the pilot's seat. He was about Aly's age but Ryat was definitely taking a role in this and her thoughts. Aly wondered if she was being stupid as now there were two symbionts in danger and not just one. She swallowed hoping her nerves didn't show. She could see water zipping past the viewport. She flipped her communicator again. =/\=Commander Ryat to Commander Zarath and Lieutenant Los. We're on the way. Hold on.=/\= Tag: Everyone

Thalin Zarath sighed slowly, though he was glad he was going to be able to receive the assistance of the aquashuttle. However, this still carried with it some elements of his earlier embarrassment, based on the fact that he had to ask for help. Certainly, he had hoped that the idea that there was no dishonor in asking for assistance was going to be one thing that was going to be adhered to in this case.
She swallowed hoping her nerves didn't show. She could see water zipping past the viewport. She flipped her communicator again. =/\=Commander Ryat to Commander Zarath and Lieutenant Los. We're on the way. Hold on.=/\=
=^= I understand. Zarath out. Thank you, Commander. =^=
Looking up from the sky, he saw the ever increasingly large form coming from the heavens. Breathing heavily, he tried to force out any thoughts of the future and any aforementioned dishonor that might come with this plea for help. Instead, he simply tried to focus on the present as the small lines of the craft diminished with perspective, the now large hulking mass of streamlined metal free falling into the water with a deafening crash.
Helping Los stand as best as he could, Zarath inched towards the shuttle, trying to make it for the hatch as he did so. Shaking his head dismally, he made his way towards the craft and finally let Los stand on his own. Turning to him, he nodded his head before speaking.
“I did not mean to patronize you. I simply wanted to make sure that you were alright. I did not question your ability to do things on your own – that, I assure you.”
