Will couldn't believe his ears as he stood by and listened to the report about Shooku. When all was done, he and the Commodore left the ready room, entered the turbolift and rode it down to the docking bay. There, they split. Will informed his CO that he was going to download all the information that was recorded during the last mission. He wanted to see if there was something there that could tell him the story. Something that would explain what the hell the Klingons were really after.
A few moments later, Will found himself walking into his former office. The new CTSO had made a few changes but nothing major. Commander Daya was no where to be seen so will walked around the desk and took a seat. He began calling up all the logs that pertained to the Raven being taken. This in itself was not usually a hard task but since the ship had separated, there was now two sets of logs and reports to go through. He also set the computer to notify him when anything about the ships doctor was accessed. While he was sitting there reading, the chime announced that there was someone waiting at the door.
"Come in." Will called out as if he had never left the position.
The doors parted and Lt Delik was standing there.
"Commander Jamison. Sorry to interrupt, sir. I was looking for Commander Daya."
"It's fine Delik. Come on in." Will replied. "I came down to take a look at some files and recordings. Commander Daya wasn't here when I arrived. Is there something I can help you with?"
"No, sir. I was just dropping off some duty rosters that he had asked for." Delik answered.
"No problem. Just lay them on my, I mean, his desk."
Delik sat the PADD down and turned to leave. Before he was out the door, Will called to him.
"Delik. Maybe you could give me hand. Can you round me up a couple of people from sickbay that were on the saucer section with the doctor. I want to interview them."
"Yes, sir." said Delik as he turned and left.
Will sat back and began reading the files again. A short time later, once again, the doors opened without anyone being announced. That could only be the CTSO. He stopped short when he saw the XO at his desk.

After parting ways with the Section Admiral, Mc7 made his way to the office that he was just beginning to settle into, what with his new position as Fleet Commander for the Section 47 Fleet. Mc7 was usually a very dignified man, each action he performed was normally well thought out. Uncharacteristically he plumped himself down onto the chair behind the desk, almost falling into it. I did not want one of my first acts as Fleet CO to be persecuting an officer within the Fleet, he thought to himself. Almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he stopped cold.
I’m a former Chief Justice of the Judge Advocate General’s Office, and I’ve never met this man before in my life. Other than him being a Starfleet Officer, what reason do I have to automatically assume he is innocent of the charges against him. He always liked to see the best in people, but experience had taught him that was a fool’s errand at times.
Trying to get comfortable, and failing, Mc7 sent a message to the stations quartermaster, asking for him to arrange for his orthopedically designed chair to be shipped from Starbase Conqueror.
Mc7 was aware that the office he now occupied had recently been refurbished, and one of the improvements was the addition of a new desk, which included a built in replicator station. All of the circuitry was hidden within the desk, so all that could be seen was a small reflective square in the corner. Ordering a cappuccino, Mc7 knew he could get used to the creature comforts offered to the Brass aboard the Section’s Headquarters.
“Computer, bring up a list of all those present on the Bridge aboard the saucer section of the USS Raven B on during its separation from the drive section on its most recent mission.”
The console on the desk displayed a list of people who were aboard at the time given, and after his next command the list narrowed significantly,
“How many of those listed are still alive?”
The screen now displayed a list of only 3 names, the Doctor and two Klingons. That narrows down the list of potential witnesses somewhat then, he thought to himself.
“Computer, send a message to the bases Chief Medical Officer. Inform them that I require autopsies to be carried out on the Qlani who died aboard the saucer section of the USS Raven B during its last mission, and these need to be conducted urgently.”
The computer beeped to indicate that the message was now sitting on the personal PADD of the doctor.
Mc7 composed messages to the two officers who had been on the Bridge with Shooku at the time, and who were ultimately responsible for the work that Mc7 was now undertaking. Mc7 worded the messages in a way that Klingons would understand. The wording was blunt, and made it clear that he expected the reports to be matter of fact and that he expected it within two days. And just to reinforce how important the report was, he finished the messages stating that the Commander of the Imperial Defence Force himself was aware of this case, and following it with interest.
With the messages sent, Mc7 began to review the logs of the senior officers of the Raven from the last mission, in hopes of trying to get an insight of what might have happened that day, and also of the character of Shooku.

Carl left Will at the turbo-lift's ... Jamison had some idea's and he was going to chase up several avenues. Torek was under no illusions about the seriousness of the charges brought against his Chief Medical Officer. The fact that General Kavor was involved did nothing to instill confidence in him that this was going to turn out anything but bad.
Yes, he trusted the Section Admiral, same went for the two people assigned as attorneys, but that didn't negate the pressure Kavor could bring, and the last thing the Federation needed was some incident to upset the normally twitchy Klingon's ...
Having been ordered to keep away from H'zul, Carl was at a loss as to what his next step should be, so he decided he'd finish the drink he was enjoying before the interruption.
Heading back to O'Tooles, he went straight to the bar. It was late in the evening now, so the place was quietening down somewhat. Sean was already stood with the snifter in hand ... It never failed to amaze Torek how the genial host seemed to know he was coming and had a drink waiting, but this time he appreciated it more than normal.
"I'm guessing whatever you were called away for isn't going away anytime soon ?"
"You are the master of the understatement Sean." Carl said, handing the quickly emptied glass back as O'Toole brought a vintage bottle from under the counter and proceeded to refill it before returning it to his customer.
"I'll leave you to your thoughts then Carl." he said, looking along the bar, "Give me a shout should you feel the need to go the whole hog and get yourself drank under the table."
Carl waved him away laughing ... The two men had indeed had a few 'sessions' in their time as friends. Carl wouldn't have liked to say who was currently in front on remaining standing, but both men were grateful for the hypo-spray Sean kept behind the bar, as without it neither would be able to regain conciousness, let alone stand the morning after.
A thought occurred to him as he was stood there and he tapped his Comm badge ..
=^= Torek to Raven =^=
=^= Raven .. Maj .. Colonel Baslone =^=
=^= Colonel .. You'll get used to the new rank .. Congratulations on the promotion by the way .. Spending a little time on the Bridge .. I thought you were going on leave before your re-assignment =^=
=^= Am Sir .. Just clearing my Security clearances from the Raven before I leave =^=
=^= OK .. Right .. Could you have someone check if we have Security footage of the Bridge during the situation we've just had =^=
=^= I'll check it now Commodore if you can give me a moment =^=
Carl waited patiently as the Marine checked for the coverage that could clear, or condemn, Ahlan ... He was disappointed.
=^= Sir .. Sorry .. Any footage has either been erased or corrupted .. But I'm sure all recording systems were taken off-line as the Raven left SB47 =^=
=^= OK Colonel .. Thank you .. it was a long-shot anyway .. I seriously doubted I was going to be in luck .. Thank you again Colonel and God speed .. Torek out =^=
He closed the Comm and stuck his elbows on the bar. Without a visual record of what happened on the Bridge during the fire-fight, it was down to the word of his Doctor and the two Klingon Officer's who had accused him originally ... He hoped Mc7 and Matt could find the truth out before too long. He knew that the Raven was going nowhere until he knew the outcome of the Court-Martial ... That was certain.
Lifting his glass again, he waited for a refill ..........

----Starbase 47----
The Andorian in a yellow uniform knew the solution was never as simple as it was made out to be. Eliminate a target, and you eliminate an undesirable outcome. However, there was a slight issue in the efforts of balance. He knew that even if this was a successful mission there was still a chance of an undesirable outcome. The Andorian recalled to himself the historical records of the order, and they had been around for centuries. The records of this order were sealed, and only members of the order knew of the order. The only way to join the order was through blood. Not traditional blood where on slays another, but more or less through a bloodline.
Originally there were fifteen members in the order at the time of it's formation and under code of the laws that governed the order the survival of the order depended heavily upon the survival of the bloodlines of the original fifteen members. Gender did not play a role in the choosing of members, and if multiple children were born then the eldest child was chosen. Unless the eldest child was killed then it fell to the next child, and so on. If there were no children then the leader of the order chose another child from one of the other bloodlines to replace the dying bloodline. Thus, the order remained at fifteen members, though the bloodlines could not be traced all that well. The Andorian in the yellow Starfleet uniform continued to dwell on this as he walked through the passageway. Debating greatly on what their Consul had told the three in this mission. He had a choice, and could decide not to do it, as in the laws it also stated that if one felt that the mission risked innocent lives, or exposure of the order among other reasons then the mission could be aborted without reprisal. This allowed for free will, and if the member made the wrong decision they would still not face reprisal in the matter.
Now he stood outside the quarters of the two Klingons next to the panel on the other side. For a second or two before turning and facing the door he activated the chime wearing black leather gloves. Upon hearing the voice to enter he did so. Without a word he stood between the two Klingons playing it off as if he had some sort of official business. The Andorian flipped his left hand to the left turning his head to that direction a short dagger escaped his cuff. Perfectly well aimed it struck it's victim in the throat, and the first Klingon stumbled back. The Andorian was too fast he turned his entire body balancing on the balls of his feet for support and flipped his hand again this time across his body. The second dagger escaped much like the first and struck it's victim in the throat as this Klingon now aware of the surprise attack had started forward. The Andorian watched as he stumbled back, and fell like his comrade. He walked past the bodies and withdrew the bloody knives from their bodies.
The Andorian calmly slid the daggers back inside his sleeve, and walked out of the room. Afterwards he walked to the next room over, and calmly pressed the chime, the Klingon answered the door and the Andorian pointed towards the room he was in previously and handed the PADD to the Klingon. With that the Andorian walked away smiling as he did so until he came to the shuttle bay and boarded his shuttle to his next mission.
The pair of Klingon's in the other room walked over into the first room where two of their comrades lay dead. And, upon entry they discovered the bodies, and looked upon the PADD that was handed to them one reading it aloud to his comrade, If you lie on your report to the Federation this can and will happen to you both. We have methods that you cannot stop by any means. The two Klingons that had been with Shooku on the bridge looked between each other then the bodies of the two Klingons that had been killed. Without a word they went back to their room Starfleet would find these bodies, and these two would be busily writing their reports as requested by Admiral Mc 7 of 9...
----O'Tooles----
Tristam had been sitting there in uniform for about an hour, and that was when he seen the target walk into the Bar area and approach the main bar, and begin a conversation with the barman. He remained stationary something told him that he would find this man there. And, he smiled upon discovering that his gut feeling had told him the correct information. He pulled out the datapad and began typing away on it's keypad every piece of this person's life, and patterns would soon be Tristam's. And, when the time came, so would the kill...

"Upper promenade level." Calli demanded, still somewhat annoyed.
Entering O'Tooles she went to the bar and one of the girls waved mouthing she wouldn't be a moment.
Turning her back to lean the bar, Calli scanned the large room. It was almost twenty one hundred now, and the place was quiet before the late evening rush ... She went over in her head what she knew regarding the arrest. Apparently, the Raven's Doctor had been accused by the Klingon's of something, seemingly murder. It didn't surprise her really, the Klingon's weren't happy unless they were satisfying some arcane honor or other, and if that wasn't enough they would start some petty 'house' war ... Her role in this was hopefully at an end, but that didn't mean Mc7 wouldn't use her elsewhere. She had a lot of scope, not to mention authority, given her rank and choice of uniform color.
She had scanned the room, and was now making her way back the other way when her eyes fell on the male once again, there was just 'something' about him in her opinion, something that warranted a second, more covert look. Letting her eyes roam so as not to look directly at the man, she watched him in her peripheral vision ... He was sat alone, with some sort of data PADD on the table before him. He was making notes, all the while watching the bar. Or watching someone 'at' the bar ... Casually turning to pick up the Jack Daniels placed there a moment ago, she looked down the length of the ornate wooden bar. The only other person stood against the brass railing was Commodore Torek.
"Have you heard ......?" someone said, completely ignored by Valenti as her mind worked on the information she was gathering, "Calli ...... Are you listening to me ... Have you heard ?"
The voice finally got through to her and she turned toward the sound.
"What ...... Sorry Vicky ... You were saying something ?"
The girl gave out a loud sigh as if frustrated the leaned closer to Calli.
"A security alert has just gone out. Two Klingon Officers have been found in the accommodation levels. They were killed earlier tonight ... Murdered !" Vicky said, eyes wide, loving the sudden conspiracy.
Calli frowned, then looked at Torek, nursing a fish bowl type glass a quarter full of golden liquid, knowing of his fondness for brandy and cognac, assumed that was what he was drinking. Then she looked back at the table, and the person sat there. He had still to touch the drink in front of him, and was still jotting in the PADD ... Two Star Fleet Security officer's entered the bar and began a wide sweep of the room, glancing at the few people seated before continuing their circumnavigation of O'Toole's ... It didn't escape her notice that he never let the Officer's out of his sight while trying hard to look as if he were totally disinterested in the proceedings ..........

Andae had gone to the Starbase's security section which was located not far from the ultra-secure brig section, as might be expected. He hadn't forgotten the hooded and cloaked mysterious pair that'd slipped through the brig intersection just before he could reach them, and he thought - rather than diving in and taking the issue into his hands - he would attempt to be practical, and report it to those whose concern it was to investigate.
With this duty complete he made his way back to the brig section, and was brooding over the hefty allegations with Shooku. The Captain's visit did little to alleviate the tension, and nor did his departure.
Blakus pursed his lips and tapped them with a finger, thinking hard - and mostly in circles - on what procedures the advocates would be going through, and what conditions would need to be met that would mean Shooku's acquittal. He eyed the Andorian, the silence in the brig section amplifying the meaning of his actions. Did Ahlan deserve acquittal? In other words, was he guilty?
"Commander Blakus," the brig officer called him.
He looked up, partly annoyed that his chain of thoughts on this complex matter had been broken up - his logical avatar cast out into the mind's equivalent of oblivion. On the other hand he was glad someone had spoken. "Yes, Lieutenant?"
"There's a message for you, sir, from Starbase Security."
He nodded and got up from the brig bench. Nodding to Ahlan, he stepped out of the cell barely in time to escape the enclosing forcefield keeping the accused murderer inside. Blakus understood the brig officer's situation; he couldn't take the message personally here with brig prisoners after all.
He went into an ante-room to take the message on a wall display. The gold-collared Commander appeared on screen. "Commander Blakus... thank you for the information you gave us. We've scanned the entire station and found no discrepancies between the personnel/civilian manifest - as well as officers and civs passing through here - and what the sensors revealed in terms of biosigns."
Blakus's mouth opened, closed again. Then he spoke. "But that's impossible. I saw two cloaked figures sneaking around.. no one paying attention to them. If they'd saw them they'd know they weren't supposed to be there."
"Sorry, Commander," the security man said, "You were seeing ghosts... or something."
Blakus eyed him sternly. "I'm telling you... Maybe they're masking their lifesigns, crouching in a sensor blind, knocked out some of your sensorial gear, I don't know. But things like this shouldn't be taken lightly... Take the explosion at Starbase Assailant for example. A bomb went off and investigation revealed there were lapses in security... laziness, laxity!"
The man coughed, "With all due respect, Commander, that's Assailant, not Starbase 47 headquarters for the sector."
Blakus thumbed off the wall panel screen and huffed, twisting away and debating fiercely with himself. There was only one sensible conclusion; he would have to take the issue into his own hands after all.

Will had explained the situation to Commander Daya and the CTSO understood and offered his assistance. Will went back to his searches. The longer he sat there the more frustrated he became as he began to realize that every video and voice recording from the Raven had been damaged or deleted. He was finding absolutely nothing to help them. Not only was he angry but he was feeling worthless. How could he be the XO of a Federation starship when he couldn't even help prove the innocence of one his crewman?
Will sat back and took a deep breath.
"Maybe I'm going about this all wrong." he muttered to himself.
"Sir?" asked Daya.
Will did a double take as he had forgotten that the new CTSO was there and had also been trying to retrieve footage from the Raven.
"I was thinking that maybe I'm the wrong person to be trying to prove the doctor didn't murder anyone. I'm no lawyer."
"Computer." Will said. "Who has been appointed to defend Doctor Shooku Ahlan?"
"Doctor Ahlan is being defended by Captain Matthew Reynolds."
"That's it." Will said as he stood. "I'm off to see if there's anything I can do for Captain Reynolds."
He left the Security office and made his way toward the starbase. He wasn't sure why but something made him stop.
"Computer. What is Captain Reynolds location?"
"Captain Reynolds is located in the Captains ready room aboard the USS Raven."
"Glad I asked?" he said with a laugh as he once again entered a lift.
"Bridge."
When the doors parted, he headed straight for the ready room doors and announced his arrival.

"Commander Jamison, you were not the officer I was expecting, but none the less I'm sure you will be able to help me in my defense of your doctor," Matt stated as the Raven's first officer walked into the Ready Room. At first Matt believed that Commander Jamison was looking for Carl, but his lack of surprise to see Matt in the captain's chair told him otherwise.
(Will)
"Before anything let me introduce myself," Matt said as he stood and approached the commander," I'm Matthew Reynolds, but please call me Matt."
(Will)
"Commander, I have to be honest and say that the case against Shooku does not look good," Matt said as he handed the executive officer his research so far," since most of the sensors were not working correctly during the time in question, the Klingon's are eye witnesses and until we question them in trial we have to assume that they are credible witnesses."
(Will)
"I also have to be honest that the doctor seems to be rather confused," Matt said," when I questioned him the first time, he seemed distracted and his attention was on other issues. I don't know if he has been evaluated by a doctor, but I'm going to recommend that he gets this done immediately."

He had watched the Security team sweep through O'Tooles with little interest, but seeing one of the bar staff urgently speaking to an Officer he suddenly recognized, his interest was perked ... Taking the refilled glass off the bar he approached the woman. "Commander. Something happening ?" he inquired. Calli didn't want to let the lone customer out of her sight, so turning enough to keep him in her peripheral vision, she answered. "Commodore. I didn't notice you there." an obvious lie and both knew it, "Apparently Security are looking for someone ... They have found two Klingon's on the habitat levels. Both dead." When she turned to see his reaction she was a little surprised that he was making his way to the door already, and the seated man was watching him leave too. < tag : Tristam ? >Deciding the Commodore was her priority, she downed the last of her 'Jack Daniels' and headed after him. She was just in time to see him vanish in a transporter beam. 'Shows what rank can do, I was under the impression that site to site transport was forbidden inside stations' she thought as she ran to the nearest turbo-lift and requested habitat level thirty four. ~~~~~~~~~~The corridor in question had been cordoned of at both ends. Several residents had been forced out of their rooms and shuffled unceremoniously to a waiting area on the level above. Calli was stopped by a no-nonsense Security Officer who simply stepped in her way. She could see the Commodore entering the room in question and really didn't have time for delays. "Step aside Lieutenant. I'm here on behalf of Admiral Tetsutarô investigating the incident ..." she said pointedly as the man seemed unconvinced, "Well ?" He moved aside then watched as she headed toward the room. She was stopped twice in the corridor, each time noticing the Officer looking over her shoulder and getting to 'OK' from the man she had first spoken to ... Eventually she entered the room. It was crowded, over crowded in fact. Security, medic's, four orderlies were stood to one side, their mag-lev gurgurneysating in front of them. "I AM NOT CONCERNED ..... With 'WHO' you think has jurisdiction in this matter Commodore. Two Klingon Officer's have been brutally massacred on Federation soil and I will be requesting someone be held responsible for allowing this to happen !" Calli recognized the Klingon Attaché ... D'gHur ... The man was a minor cog in the Klingon hierarchy but always seemed to be trying to throw his not inconsiderable weight into matters that were usually way above his level. "Can we have all non-essential personnel outside please .. NOW ! Calli barked. The Klingon fell silent and both men turned to her. She gave both a look of total confidence in her right to be barking orders, then turned away to ensure the room was now empty of all but D'gHur, Torek, herself, the Medical Examiner, and the two corpses. "You seem to be getting in the middle of everything of late Commander. Is there any reason why you shouldn't be following your own order and getting out of here ?" Torek asked, not quite knowing if she was going to help or hinder in this problem, but reserving judgment, for the time being. "I am sure you have checked my 'credentials' Commod ......" she began when D'gHor interrupted. You let this ... THIS underling dicta ......" "Please do NOT let the rank insignia lull you into thinking I'm merely some lackadaisical girl who is poking her nose in where it doesn't belong." she said almost sweetly, all the time staring the giant Klingon down, "I am pretty sure you sudden arrival on the home-world would raise all manner of awkward questions !" D'gHur, who everyone knew was destined for some back-water outpost as soon as the council could move him, was trying hard to come up with something to save face, but it was never going to happen, so he 'huffed' as if disgusted at a 'Woman' being allowed to dictate to her obvious superiors, before turning to feign interest in the bodies. "Do we know who they are Commodore ?" she asked Torek, seemingly forgetting the Klingon completely. "No ......" Carl said, frowning, "But I'm guessing they are either directly connected to the Court-Martial, or are on the sidelines." "I've done all I can here." the Doctor said, standing, "I need to take these to the morgue." "Go ahead Doctor." Carl replied, seeing D'gHur about to object, "Make sure the Klingon Attaché has full access to ALL your findings." "The report is hardly going to be a long one Commodore. They were both killed by a long, thin blade. One puncture on each body. Precise. Both severed vital nerve ganglion. They were dead before they hit the deck in my opinion." the Doctor said, following the two gurney's out of the room. Leaving all three in no doubt ... There were well over a hundred thousand personnel, Civilians, Families, on the Star base, not all of them going about lawful businesses ... So it was possible that somewhere among those many thousands was an Assassin .......... < tag : All >

Mc7 was sitting at his desk reviewing both the operational and personal logs of all crew involved in the Raven's last mission. It was a long shot, but he had to make sure someone hadn't said something, even if it seemed insignificant, in them. It was usually a no no to even consider accessing someone's personal logs, but given the serious nature, both of the crime and the potential outcomes of the pending court martial, Mc7 had decided that the sanctity of personal logs would need to be set aside.
The comm panel on his desk chirped, and a small indicator light began to flash, telling him that there was an incoming comm signal. Tapping the panel, the Lieutenant on Ops Duty in the bases Command Centre's voice came over the comm system,
"Sir, I've been asked to inform you that there has been an incident on the accommodation level. It appears that two Klingon nationals have been murdered."
"What?"
It took the Admiral a few seconds to process the information, and as soon as he had, his command head kicked in,
"Lieutenant, have the Klingon's been identified yet? Are they the Klingon's that were on the Raven's Bridge during it's last mission?"
"We haven't identified them officially yet Sir, but I believe it is different Klingon's from those involved in the Raven's last mission."
"Acknowledged Lieutenant, please keep me updated with the progress of the investigation,"
he finished, tapping the comm panel again to sever the connection.
Mc7 contacted the two Klingon's he had requested the reports from only hours before, ensuring that they were ok, and reminding them that he needed those reports in short order. He received the typical Klingon bluster in reply, but underneath that he sensed an edge of fear in their voices. As complicated as he originally thought this case would be, Mc7 thought it had many twists and turns yet to take.
The admiral rubbed the bridge of his nose, he could feel a headache brewing in his skull, and it felt like a bad one.

.:.Starbase 47.:.
The two remaining hooded members of the order were among the first to learn of the deaths of two Klingon Officers with no knowledge of who caused the death in the rumors. Each presumed this was good news that nobody knew who was responsible. They sat quietly inside the quarters reviewing information seeing that the particular shuttle had left the station made them breathe a sigh of relief. The first member nodded, "Well it seems so far everything has gone as planned."
The second one nodded, "Yes, and now we must begin to hunt our next target." The member spoke in silence as their work wasn't complete on multiple fronts as it seemed.
The first smiled wryly before walking over to the corner and changed out of the robes, and into a red starfleet uniform. She grabbed the small datapad and placed it into her pocket before making her way towards the operations section of the starbase.
She sat down at a station carefully she slipped the datapad out of her sleeve, and inserted it into the console before activating the datapad. Slowly she watched as the information scroll onto the screen on the console. The member removed her datapad and pressed a few keys guiding the coding from the datapad into the information banks of the computer core. The virus attached itself into the depths of the computer core and alerted her to this. She stood up and left the center complaining of stomach complications and vanished.
Within moments the consoles throughout the station operations center began to blink rapidly and lock into place. Any console currently connected to the system would begin to suffer the same fate just before the computer core itself locked into itself, and begin to shut down trying to save any data not already corrupted. The security footage throughout the starbase from the past three days was completely destroyed before the core could react...
.:.Brig.:.
Ahlan stood up from his seat and began to pace back and forth when suddenly an Andorian officer in a red uniform walked up to him. He quickly recognized who it was, but said nothing as the woman stood there blinking a couple times. Then blinked some more times before she would vanish. The message was simple it informed him that two Klingons were dead, and a virus was sent through the station's computer systems. He sat back down before looking at the brig officer, "I need to speak with Commodore Torek quickly." He said and heard the officer call for the Commodore over his commbadge.

"Get the rooms cleaned up and then you can allow the residents of the other apartments to return." Carl said to the Security Officer outside the door.
The man nodded and sent in a cleanup crew. Carl walked toward the large information area that was part of each level. Commander Valenti was talking to him, but he was only half listening ... He was watching two Klingon's ... They were stood side by side against the bulkhead. Neither was speaking, and given that two of their countrymen had just been massacred, he found it a little strange that they were not shouting for vengeance, revenge, whatever !
He was about to walk over to them when the lights seemed to dim very slightly, then go out altogether. Information screens, vending machines, everything fell silent, but before emergency lighting could react, the power returned and everything began to flicker to life.
"What the hell was that all about ?" Calli said, looking round the area.
"I don't know." Torek said, still watching the two Klingon's, who had remained motionless during the black-out, "Contact the Command Center, see if they can give you any information."
As she followed his order, he casually took a tricorder from one of the Security Officers and pointed it in the direction needed then ran a full scan. He returned the equipment and told the Officer to check readings ... The Klingon's had apparenty been told they could return to their suite. As they moved away without a word, Carl watched them closely
"Commodore. There's little information on those two, but they were cleared for entry with arrivals." the Security Officer reported, "Do you want us to speak to them ?"
"No ... Thank you Commander. I'm sure it was just my imagination getting the better of me." he said, turning to Calli, "Anything ?"
"You won't believe it." she replied, almost laughing, "Someone tried to corrupt the computer system on the station. Seventy three percent of the bio-neural systems in the command center's main computer were fried before the protection protocols were activated."
"What ! .... Have we lost much ?" he asked, almost unwilling to believe someone could even try this, let alone think they would succeed, then heard his Comm badge chirp, he tapped it to life and replied.
=^= Torek =^=
=^= Sir .. Lieutenant Harris .. Base Security .. Doctor Ahlan is requesting to speak to you .. He seems to think it is of an urgent nature Sir =^=
=^= Tell the Doctor I will be there shortly Lieutenant .. Torek out =^=
He tapped the badge to close the Comm then urged Calli to continue.
"We lost next to nothing actually. Whoever did this had no idea the scale of computing power a star base has. Even without the fact each base has six master cores, all with multi-layer redundancies. They 'must' have known that each computer was in essence backing up all data for the other five throughout their operational lifetime. If they were trying to shut the base down they would have had more luck going outside and kicking the lights out one by one." Calli said, "The only thing gone seems to be the security data for the last sixty two hours." she finished, shrugging.
That was it ! ... They were not trying to shut the station down, just get something in there long enough to degrade beyond use all the security information. From recording instruments, to door access systems, to making sure the lights go on and off at the right time.
Something important had been erased, and whatever that was could still be in the other cores ..........

The light once again fell upon him and gave some of its brightness to the interior of the bar. Blakus pushed off the outside wall, with the new objective of finding out what'd just happened. The bar he'd just left the shadow of was a place called O'Toole's.
Rumour spread and the Raven's engineer learned of the attempt at a hack on the Starbase's computer core. At the same time as he discovered the information - so told by a base operations Lieutenant - he found out about the murder of two Klingons. So far, no evidence had been found about who could be responsible for either incident. His suspicions gathered pace.
Deciding on the course of action he thought would take him closer to a solution, the engineer headed to the central computer core housing. He took a different route from standard, one reserved for particular personnel only, and one which would provide a direct interface with the core when he reached its end. Things grew perceptibly darker and the air grew more tangible as he progressed; it was of course a psychological illusion, but it didn't lessen his apprehension as he neared the core; nor his fear. Stop. Stop! Under the heaviness that weighed on his perception and tickled its edges, the harsh whisper of the voice came to him. He stopped. Yes, of course, this was silly. While there should be no real danger in entering the core room - and there would be plenty of officers working out the problem there already, if only not in the part of the core he planned on visiting - he realised he'd better not get involved. The only person he really needed to see was Commodore Torek - his Captain, Commanding Officer, whom would believe him about his concerns, unlike the station-bound security guards well-used to procedure.
He turned on his heel and made his way back through sections, but almost immediately something things took a bad turn. Blast doors inbuilt into the ceiling at regular intervals - excellent additions to security at this proximity to the computer core - unhooked themselves from their ports and rolled down in front of and behind him. Red lights blinked on either wall and alert noises blared uncomfortably; but only, he quickly realised, in this small section. He sighed, hands on hips, for suffice to say he was trapped. Whoever had accessed the computer core must've done it through this route, they'd covered their footsteps to make sure no one could uncover their handiwork, or indeed whose hands were responsible...
Now to get out. He quickly ascertained he could lift the trap from the side which would lead back where he'd come, but it would take time. "Commander Blakus to Commodore Torek," he tapped his badge, static and backwash coming through on the line. He imagined Torek would be surprised to learn of all that'd happened to him, "You won't believe it, but I'm trapped in a short section en route to the computer core. Whoever hacked the core to delete the data has programmed the blast doors to make sure I can't get in. I imagine, the same has been done to the blast doors surrounding the core from other entry points. There's no way technicians could get at the data, without a lot of expertise in cracking open blast doors sealed by hacked central computer core directives."
<Tag Torek>
He nodded as he worked, performing a hotwire on the door system. "Have you heard about the murders, Carl?" The blast door rolled open and Blakus started making his way back to the promenade to meet with his CO who was just about to meet with Ahlan. He still had no idea how he might find those responsible for these 'incidents', regardless of whether they were the cloaked figures or not. "It's looking more likely that the killing of the Klingons and the core lapse are related to Ahlan's prosecution."

Calli had listened to the information from the Command Center. It was unheard of that someone could have simply walked into one of the most secure area's of the Star base unchallenged, and she would be bringing the issue into the open as soon as possible. But for the moment, there was work to do ... What she couldn't figure it out, neither could Torek ... Why go through all the troub ..... She dropped the thought as his comm badge chirped yet again.
=^= Blakus to Torek =^=
=^= Go ahead Andae =^=
=^= You won't believe this ...... =^=
Calli listened as the Raven's Chief Engineer recounted what had happened and his thoughts on the situation. She was well aware that Blakus was not only a damn good Engineer and former Executive Officer of the Raven, but one of the people that had had a a hand in designing systems to safeguard warp cores and computer cores. It was more than obvious now that it wasn't as simple as walking into the Command center and leaving a bomb on the desk. they had been much more subtle that that ..
=^= ...... It's looking more likely that the killing of the Klingon's and the core lapse are related to Ahlan's prosecution in my opinion =^= Blakus finished. Calli nodded her agreement as Torek frowned.
=^= Andae .. I'm sending Commander Valenti down to you .. She may be able to help figure this out =^=
The last time Blakus had seen the young woman she had been ranked Ensign, and wasn't the niece of one of the highest ranking Admirals in Star Fleet ... But that made no odds ... She certainly had some 'clout' be it social or political but she had a knack of getting, there and then, what other people might need to wait for, and that was going to be a welcome asset about now.
=^= OK .. I should reach the promenade in ten maybe fifteen minutes I'll meet her at section fourteen .. Blakus out =^=
"If all this is connected, why go through all the trouble." Calli said, more to herself than making it a comment for discussion.
"I don't know Commander ..... But I think I need to speak to Doctor Ahlan right now. If this is all an elaborate scheme, it can't be aimed at getting rid of some ships' doctor. Hell, they could have simply murdered him and made it look like a opportune robbery assault !" Torek said, looking up and down the corridor as if expecting some spectral figure to present himself as the cause of all this, but alas he was disappointed, "Go meet Commander Blakus. Give him all the help you can. Let him make use of that 'influence' you seem to have ... I'll be with the Doctor."
"Sir." Calli replied, turning to the nearby turbo-lifts ..........

Will shook hands with Captain Reynolds when he came around the desk and introduced himself.
".....but please call me Matt."
"Matt." Will replied with a nod of his head. "and I'm Will."
Matt continued speaking as he handed Will a PADD that he had been holding. Will began reading over it and couldn't help but to agree with what Matt was saying.
"........against Shooku does not look good,"
"We have to wait until the trial?" Will asked. Though he had done some studying on it in the Academy, this whole process was new to him. "There's no way to speak to them before than?"
<Matt>
Will listened more as he took the seat that Matt offered as he spoke and made his way back behind the desk and went on to tell of his meeting with Shooku.
"......he gets this done immediately."
"And what of the Klingons? Are they gonna want one of their doctors to examine him as well?" he questioned before looking up from the PADD. "Wait. Do they even have doctors?" he added with a grin.
He went back to reading to see if there was anything he could see. A moment later, he looked up once again.
"You know. I find it hard to believe that EVERY sensor and video on board the Raven were all out. And there's no way we have discovered to retrieve the logs from the Klingon vessel either after it was destroyed."

Carl made his way so security. It was obvious that something more than just Ahlan being accused of murder was going on. But what the hell that was remained unclear. It did occur to him that the apparent delay in beginning court-martial proceedings was allowing him and Star fleet to look into the issue.
As he entered the security center a young Lieutenant approached.
"Commodore ... Lieutenant Harris Sir ... You are here to speak to the Doctor. I thought you should know he had a visitor before requesting to speak to you."
"Visitor ?"
"Yes ... The weird thing is, from what I could see, she didn't even speak to him ... Stood there for about thirty seconds then left."
"Thank you Lieutenant." Torek said moving to the cell containing his Chief Medical Officer, "Doctor, you needed to speak to me ?"
Ahlan nodded, looking left to right as if they were being watched, before inching closer to Torek ..
< tag : Doctor >
"If that's correct, why invent the murders ?" Carl asked frowning as Ahlan remained silent. Then it occurred to him that the charges were genuine. The Klingon's were serious about wanting the trial to go ahead. It was then that the smallest doubt appeared in his conviction that the Doctor was totally innocent. The doubt was there for a fraction of a second before he dismissed it as ludicrous.
"Is there anything more you can tell me that will help us get you the hell out of here ?" ..........

~A Little Back Post~
"We have to wait until the trial?" Will asked. Though he had done some studying on it in the Academy, this whole process was new to him. "There's no way to speak to them before than?"
"I doubt the Klingons will give us access to their citizens, but I'm sure we can strong arm them," Matt said as he took his seat.
"And what of the Klingons? Are they gonna want one of their doctors to examine him as well?" he questioned before looking up from the PADD. "Wait. Do they even have doctors?" he added with a grin.
"They do in fact, one of the Raven's former CMO was in fact a dear friend of mine and Klingon. I understand that we are not exactly friends with the Klingons, but do not disrespect their culture in front of me in the future Commander," Matt said annoyed that such a intelligent and influential man like Will Jamison would say such things.
(Will)
"You know. I find it hard to believe that EVERY sensor and video on board the Raven were all out. And there's no way we have discovered to retrieve the logs from the Klingon vessel either after it was destroyed."
"I have some engineers on the starbase working on retrieving any data that seems to be missing," Matt said as he once looked over Shooku's record. His actions were completely contrary to what his profile said. Something was not right and it annoyed Matt that his very own client might be the one hindering his defense.
"Commander, I will be back tomorrow morning and I would like to speak to you and Commodore Torek in an official capacity as the command officers of the Raven," Matt said," I understand that Shooku is a member of your crew, but I need to know your personal account of what happened before the tragic deaths of those people occurred.

She closed the Comm link as she got closer to the Engineer.
"Commander." she said as she reached him, "The Commodore wants us to try getting any information possible on the attempted shut-down ..... Especially on what information was lost or deleted ..... I here your Security Chief is pretty good. Maybe we should ask him to start looking too."
Blakus shrugged.
"More the merrier in my opinion." was his only comment as Calli tapped her Comm badge.
=^= Commander Valenti to Commander Daya =^=
After explaining that she needed him to try looking for anything in the computer logs that would give them a lead, she also asked him to see if anyone on the base had been asking direct, or indirect questions about the Raven's last outing, but more specifically on the Doctor.

Daya sighed after hearing the situation and stood up to meet with Commander Valenti, he grabbed a stack of empty PADD's to put some information on. Once he arrived he opened up a console and put the PADDs down next to him. "It would seem i wasn't the only one hiding something, eh commander?" he asked talking to Calli.

"Ok, well lets see what i can pull up" Daya started tapping buttons and he input his clearance codes. After a few moments he had a few extra files that had been missing. "I don't think these will prove anything, but they will help" With a smile he dove deeper into the computer files and started sorting through a few programs, "Someone really knew what they doing, alot of this is completely wiped, but i can find a few images that didnt get erased"

Blakus was feeling in an irritable mood by the time he'd reached the promenade. It'd taken him longer than expected to get there, and thus his normal blanket of calmness was broken by the infuriation of not getting there when he'd planned to, and how he'd planned to.
Of course he'd had to take a different route, the blast doors closing off his exit from the outer computer core section, hence arriving at the promenade was not straight forward. And it so happened he was in a particular mood where he wouldn't be so willing to be calmed.
Five minutes went by with the engineer standing then aiming himself listlessly in numerous directions around the promenade; he returned to his standing place with regular periodicity. Grimacing, he glared at the floor and muttered. "Where is she?"
Finally Commander Valenti contacted him and explained the situation. Blakus had trouble shaking off the frustration from before, but he was at least glad he could enact Carl's orders. =^= I'm stood approximately twenty meters off to your right .. I've been here a few moments .. I just wanted to see who else was coming to the party .. Given the circumstances you can never be sure who's about to pop in .. But it seems we have the only invites =^=
"Very wise, Commander," Blakus said. He glanced to his right, disregarding the questing eyes of a group of armoured Klingons passing his left flank. "I see you; coming your way."
After moments of the two moping around deciding what to do, Calli invited the Raven's CTSO to the meeting. Blakus had never met the man to his knowledge, the tactical officer being a crewmember assigned during the Raven's period of disappearance. Commander Daya instantly set about digging up missing data files and surveillance footage believed deleted, making quips Calli's way and behaving altogether jovially.
"How did you do that?" Blakus eyed Daya incredulously, standing over the man's shoulder on the opposite side to Calli as the CTSO worked the data console. He'd witnessed the man find a store of missing data from the computer core, and subsequently recover it.
Daya swung around briefly but Calli answered for him, so the engineer wouldn't have himself embarrassed for his dark reaction to Daya's helpfulness. "Daya's a security officer, he knows how to access data otherwise secured by Starfleet systems," she said.
Blakus looked away, not happy with the SFC Commander's smart reply. He didn't feel like interjecting again, and the six pips - split evenly between his two accomplices - didn't make him any more willing to do so for the purposes of pulling rank. Besides, he imagined Valenti would have authority here; no immediate thought on why that would be, he just suspected it would be the case.
"So do we have any of the files from the Klingons, and what do we have?" Daya asked.
He glanced at the man, "Nothing. Well not much, we know someone has been trying to block the computer core from physical restoration, and people have been murdered. No direct evidence to clear Ahlan."
"... Someone really knew what they doing, alot of this is completely wiped, but i can find a few images that didnt get erased"
Blakus watched the images flashing up before Commander Daya on the screen. A flash of armour, followed by two moving and cloaked figures, ghostly as akin to apparitions gracing the display. "Wait, what's that?" he asked, and had Daya go back two of the frames. The images were scrambled, pixels clearly out of place, but it was obvious.
"This is close to the Klingon residential department where those two warriors were murdered. Scan ahead to the frames for the residential area, if any exist," he instructed Daya.
Differing images of black and white flashed up in quick order, jumbling and misplacing Blakus's senses like lost toy blocks. "There," he pointed. Daya froze the screen and both he and Calli could see the Andorian male taking off his robe and looking as if he was striding down a corridor. A couple of extremely corrupted frames later it showed the Andorian stepping through a doorway - or so Andae believed - into a set of Klingon quarters. "Hmm.." he grunted.

Carl had listened to what the Doctor had to say, which wasn't a lot given his circumstances. He reassured Shooku that he, and the Raven crew were doing all they could to come up with information ... He was about to leave the Security Center when he heard H'zul yelling at one of the Officer's assigned to the section. Turning he walked past Ahlan's cell to the Klingon Captains' ... "You are not supposed to be speaking with me COMMODORE !" "Well let's call it privilege of rank shall we." Torek said as he entered the cell, much to the concern of the Commander in charge, "What the hell is going on H'zul ..... Despite the situation, and the loss of S'vok, we were, are, friends." Carl suddenly began to feel as if he was dizzy, but it seemed to pass as quickly as it had come on. H'zul was speaking but it seemed as if it were from far away. He looked around the cell as the Klingon Captain continued unaware anything was amiss. He suddenly felt as if he were separated from himself. He watched, as if from the back of the cell, as he stood and casually put his hand inside his jacket before slowly withdrawing a phaser. He looked down at the weapon, noting the 'Maximum' setting above the red flashing bar. Shooting at this setting would totally vaporize any target hit. "What is this Torek ... You think you could get away with killing me in here ... In cold blood ... Are you that dishonorable ... pujwI ... Weakling !" The noise had alerted the guards who ran to the cell. They looked in confusion for a few seconds as Torek stepped closer to the prisoner, aiming a phaser at the mans head. Then they acted quickly. Dropping the force field one grabbed at the weapon. He watched as the man was flung to one side, the phaser hardly leaving its mark. The second Officer jumped on Torek's back, slamming an elbow into the crown of his skull. Anyone else would have dropped like a stone after the blow, but the Commodore simply reached round, grabbing the man and physically slamming him against the wall. But he had taken his eyes off H'zul, and that was all the Klingon needed. Standing, he slammed the palm of his hand into Torek's exposed jaw. The blow would have killed him instantly had H'zul not had the presence of mind to limit the impact, but still the blow sent Torek into the bulkhead unconscious. Reaching down the Klingon took hold of the phaser and began to stand. The cold metallic touch to his temple told him someone was holding a phaser to his head. Turning the weapon in his hand so he held it pointing toward him, he lifted it above his head. The pressure on his temple eased, then vanished as the Security Officer stood back, taking the offered phaser. As two of his colleagues entered to cover H'zul, the first hit his Comm badge and called a medical emergency. Within minutes two medical personnel entered and started to check the still unconscious Torek. "You almost killed him." one of the men said to H'zul, who, given the situation, simply raised his eyebrows in annoyance before sitting back down .......... One hour later: Medical center ...His eyes flickered open and the first thing he noticed was the pain. His neck, or maybe back, felt as if one or more likely both, were broken, but a nurse injected something into his neck and the pain began to subside, albeit slowly ... "Ahh, you're awake, good." a Doctor said, running a medical tricorder around his head and shoulders, "Good news ... The Klingon didn't break anything, but I expect you will be a little sore ... Remarkable control if you ask me, that blow should have killed you instantly, I'd guess that with a few more newtons of force you would have been dead before you hit the deck." Carl wondered if the man was so casual every time he told someone they had almost been killed, but didn't have time to dwell on it as the Doctor continued. "Seen one of these before ?" he asked, holding up a disk, less than five millimeters in diameter and maybe one in depth, then carried on speaking as if it were a rhetorical question, "No, didn't think so. Not Federation technology thats for sure. Some sort of sub-dermal inhibitor. Accessed the neural and synaptic pathways, leaving you totally open to outside control ... Very tidy if you ask me. Which you didn't ... Wouldn't have found it if your tunic hadn't been ripped, sent out for a replacement by the way. I've contacted your Exec' and Chief Engineer, maybe they could find out where this came from." the Doctor finished, placing the device in a small case for safe-keeping. "How did it get into me ?" Carl asked, watching the Doctor shrug at the question. "Easily, someone bumping into you maybe, it is coated in some sort of anesthetic, so you may not have even felt it. But someone got it into your shoulder. Get some rest, you need it." the Doc moved away leaving Carl to himself as a nurse handed him a new red tunic, minus rank insignia. 'What the hell is going on here !' he thought, as he put the jacket on before laying back to allow the pain to subside .......... < tag : Will / Andae / All >

"So ......" Calli said after replaying the images a second time, "I am guessing it's not too much of a leap here to say the Klingon's were killed ... Possibly killed, by the Andorian's. But why the heck would they be interfering in all this ?" "Who knows." Daya said, getting up, "I'm going to the Command Center to back-track this recording, see if I can get anything clearer. If you are thinking of dropping in on the Andorian's I'd think twice. There's no way they are going to speak to anyone, and would be less than accommodating if you just droped in. Let alone anyone from the Raven." Without waiting to see if his idea met with Commander Blakus' approval, he was gone ... Andae and Calli played the grainy, broken recording back again, but it was almost a surety that the men entering the room were Andorian. 'Not that many blue races knocking about.' Calli thought. "Listen ......" she said, getting an idea, "I know this will be a long shot, but ...... While we were in O'Tooles I was approached by a woman. We didn't have time to chat, but she did mention she was newly assigned to the Raven ... Tavn,or Tarin, no, Tavik, Aeryn Tavik, Marine Lieutenant I think, but I couldn't be certain. she was taking the Navigation Officer's slot." < tag : Andae >"Exactly !" Valenti agreed, "If the Klingon's, let alone the Andorian's, have no idea she is part of the crew, she may be able to snoop around, pick up something we've missed maybe ?" Blakus agreed, watching Calli tap her Comm badge as they began heading toward the bar ... =^= Commander Valenti to Lieutenant Tavik =^= she said, surprised at the instant response. =^= Tavik .. Go ahead Commander =^= Calli went through her idea, with Blakus adding here and there, then she told the young Marine to speak to the owner, he would give her something to counteract the alcohol in her system ... As they were talking Calli and Blakus entered O'Tooles ... Seeing the young Marine Calli pointed her out. "There she is ... OK lets see what we can come up with." she said before making the introductions .......... < tag : Andae / Aeryn / ALL >OOC:

As Will quickly but cautiously made his way toward the medical facilities, he couldn't help but to think about all that had happened since their return.
Shooku on trial. Dead Klingons. Mysterious cloaked figures and Carl now in sickbay. What the hell is going on around here?
When he arrived, he entered sickbay and saw his CO laying on one of the beds. He made his way over and saw that the man was sleeping. A second later, someone approached him.
"Commander. Step into my office please." said Dr. Elliot.

With her feet up on the table, Aeryn slowly felt her body lose touch from her mind. No matter how much she drank, she always had her mind about her, but the mental connection to the rest of the body was what always lacked. Even now, she remembered the myriad of things she had planned on doing before joining the marines, but she decided it would be more prudent to join now. Bloody lot of good that did.... Aeryn wasn't angry with her choice, nor did she regret it, but the simple fact that the first thing she thought to do upon her arrival was sit in a bar and drink disgusted her. She had now been in the bar for over three hours. It was a rather short run for her, but in the small amount of time consumed enough alcohol to fill a warp core from the base to the brim. Numerous men and women came up and tried to strike up a conversation or flirt with her. On one instance, an attractive young nurse came up who was obviously drunk. She made a run at Aeryn, who nearly took her up on the offer. The only thing that stopped Aeryn was the thought of a future and the children that came with it. Needless to say, the young nurse was cast aside, Aeryn favoring the bottle in hand over anything else at the moment.
Aeryn felt her body slipping. It took every ounce of energy and focus for her to look down at her bottle and realize it was nearly empty again. It was her second bottle of rum and for any one person to drink the lot would surely spell out a rough next day. With that thought in mind, Aeryn slowly brought her mind to focus on getting up and going to her temporary quarters. She would loll out on the bed and sleep through the next day. She had just about got up when the communicator beeped. She drooped her head, slurring, "Son..of a...." Aeryn reached up to the communicator with one finger....and missed it. She tried again, this time over shooting and hitting her shoulder. "Dammit." She thought for a moment, looking at her hand. She brought her index finger out to point. Cocking her head to the side and raising her eyebrow, she opened the fist, exposing her palm. She slapped it against the left side of her chest. She heard the communicator beep in acknowledgement.
"Hah!" Aeryn yelled aloud grinning, thoroughly proud of her new accomplishment. Then she remembered to respond. "Go ahead....Comm...Commander," she slowly slurred out.
The following conversation was lost in the very words it was spoken. Aeryn heard, or at least understood, little of it and when she cut the communication, she knocked the now empty bottle onto the floor. This caught the attention of the bartender, who came over and gave her a little "lift." As the solution caught into her bloodstream and started to take effect, Aeryn's head began to pound. "Oh god....you can tell I wasn't done yet."
"Don't worry miss, you'll be back in shape in no time," the good bartender said, smiling.
The Commander who had contacted Aeryn then came in with a companion. After a brief exchange, the two walked up to Aeryn, whose head was being pulled apart by centripetal force and her own gravity.
"Lieutenant, have you come up with anything?" asked the initiating officer.
Aeryn looked up. "Huh?" She really didn't listen to what the officer had said before.
The female Commander looked at her in disgust. "Dead Klingons....Andorians?"
She waited a moment before saying, "Umm, and what the hell do want me to do about it?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

"Well," Blakus interjected, showing brusque annoyance, "We were thinking you could use your drunken ways to seduce the Klingons, considering how attractive it clearly is." He eyed Aeryn with distaste, before the apologetic bartender came back and interrupted the exchange.
"Here we are," Mr. O'Toole said, revealing a civilian-model hypospray containing what Blakus suspected was a detoxification agent, "T'anks to modern medicine, Miss Tavik here might be able to do as you ask."
Valenti sighed, looking at Tavik and Blakus in turn before turning back to O'Toole, "Thank you."
"My pleasure, shouldn't take ten minutes to work its magic." O'Toole dismissed himself from their presence.
Thinking dark thoughts of drink, Andae looked back to the marine and both he and Calli lead her to a seat. Ten minutes was a short time to sober up, but it was unlikely the relation of their plan would last half that long. The best thing to do was to relate the unimportant suggestions, or instructions first...
He sighed as he sat. "We thought you might be able to ask the Klingons a few questions.. they wouldn't recognise you or know about you from our crew roster because you've been recently assigned. Think of it as a break from the drink; a new, more particular - or day I say more important - adventure."
Blakus looked at Calli for confirmation before continuing, "This is a complex situation; we need to know if the Klingons are lying to frame Lieutenant Ahlan for his supposed murder of the defenceless Qlani, and if the Andorians we've discovered are in any way trying to protect Ahlan. Go to the Klingon guest apartments; act on some pretense, as a surveyor or technician of some sort; they won't recognise you."
"Keep in contact using this," Calli added, presenting a small device to the marine to be implanted in her ear.

Calli's presenting of the device to the marine reminded Blakus of the call from ten minutes ago. A Doctor looking after the Captain had informed the CEO of some mind-controlling device, used to initiate Carl's inexplicable attack on H'zul.
"Calli," he indicated for the woman to rise from the table, and they moved aside, allowing Aeryn some space to recover from her drunkenness as well as for Andae to pass on his information, "Why don't you work with Tavik for a while during her Klingon sojourn, I'm going to look into the sub-dermal inhibitor. I'll return after I've found something out."

Blakus nodded, casting a sympathetic glance Valenti's way as he made his way out of O'Tooles. And from there he made his way across the promenade.
Andae knew of many sub-dermal devices that could limit neural capability to control one's own body, but he knew of far fewer means to actually seize control of that body... Besides telepathy. And then, the Raven - under Qlani control - had apparently suffered at the hands of a certain Andorian-offshoot telepath married to Shooku. Of course, Andae was fishing along lines of enquiry following paths dictated by recent events, and often such thought was utterly wrong, but it was an option to keep open. He could theorise that at least an Aenar - not necessarily Suru Ahlan, but one in the employ of those Andorians tampering with the base's systems - might well be responsible.
He'd asked the Doctor for a description of the device, and at this time he would plan on using a computer terminal to narrow down and hopefully pinpoint the technology. The problem was the medical staff and others would've already looked in the database for the technology, which meant it couldn't be there and was in fact unknown to the Federation.
Thus, accordingly, Andae made his way towards the dockmaster's office. He wanted exact information on who was docked at the station and on all the ships within several million kilometres besides. A way had to be found to get to some other database.
