Item 1: Constitution
A brief discussion followed on an email sent to CSS on June 3 regarding the Constitution and it's annual review.
There were a few proposed changes, in regards to the CCS position.
A vote was called on the constitution and approving the proposed word changes.
- Ayes: 8
- Nays: 0
- Abstains: 0
- Motion passed
Item 2: Fleet Review
Commodore Savot was asked to give a review of the fleet status, as there were some concerns with the USS Nevada in June.
Only 3 ship reports were received in/for June, and only after public announcement. The Nevada seems to be picking up, though the concern now falls to other ships in the fleet, which have been falling significally behind.
A discussion followed on which vessels needed attention, and how we aim to keep new members active and interested. The general consensus is that the COs and XOs need to keep vigil on their missions and need to step in when the momentum falls, and should thereby inspire their writers to get going again.
Following the discussion it was suggested to scrap the squads and just have one single fleet given the size of our current squads/fleet. The general consensus seems to be that the USS El-Salvador should be listed as flagship, and the other ships appear in alphabetical order. As part of he fleet restructure it was felt that the role of the Fleet XO would grow to include duties previously assigned to Squad COs. As such it was agreed that it would be appropriate to assign an experienced senior member to the role, SA Drew suggested Vice Admiral Sonak Reckus.
Subsequently it was proposed that Omicron is placed as a subboard under Starbase 47.
A vote was called on the proposed fleet restructure and appointment of Admiral Reckus as Fleet XO:
- Ayes: 7
- Nays: 1
- Abstains: 0
- Motion passed
Item 3: Bios Officer Resignation
Vice Admiral Sonak Reckus has stated her intent to resign as biographies officer, effective after the meeting of July. Section Admiral Paul Drew thanks her for her many years of hard work on the admin side of the fleet. This was echoed by most CSS members.
Item 4: Future of the Biographies Officer's Role
For now, the biographies officer's role remains open as the Section Admiral wishes to have a ponder on where to take it. It is suggested that the role of updating bio's, for now, befalls on the bio's assistant as well as attending meetings but in a non-voting capacity. No vote was required.
Item 5: Hall of Fame
A list of (former) members was submitted to be added to the Hall of Fame and a vote was called for each member submitted.
