"Get a stabilizer on that conduit!" Luke ordered as a coolant relay burst. The engineering staff had been trying to get the warp core back online but there was too much pressure on the warp core. The coolant relays couldn't work against the heated plasma. "Engineering to sickbay we have three wounded in a coolant leak!" "Aknowledged," said Jaz. "Ensign Yamill," said Luke. "You and Ensign Momoa get those people to sickbay!" The two officers left. Finally, the gas of the coolant ceased to pervade the air. "What's the damage like up there Ensign Fisher?" said Luke. "Pretty bad!" he said. "The primary coolant relays are down. We've switched to auxillary relay routes but some of them were damaged. The relays will only hold for another 12 hours". Damn, Luke thought. "Get a repair team on those primary relays and make sure that stabilizer holds!"
Bellicose Island again. Luke loved it. He lay on the sand looking at the wonderful sunset albeit with the abcense of Amhil. He thought about her. He loved her. However, he was unsure about her feelings. "Computer," Luke said. "Change the atmospheric conditions to noon time". Immediately, the light changed. The sun rose high in the sky and the golden sand was blindimngly illuminated. Luke wanted a swim in the warm, tranquil oceans but he didn't like swimming at dusk. Dusk was prime feeding time for Pacifican Rhino sharks. Even though a holographic shark would not hurt him he didn't want an encounter with one. He took of his shirt and trousers and jumped into the ocean.
"Okay," said Luke. "Lets try this again. Reinitialise the warp core". There was a hum and the usual turquoise plasma pulsed through the warp core again. "Captain," said Luke over the conn. "We have warp drive back". "Good," said Soto. "What else do you need to repair?" "Well," said Luke. "There are still some EPS conduits that are out and the environmental control systems on deck 17 is still out. Unless you want to walk into an antarctic winter I would stay away from that deck".

Amhil was on her way to the captain's ready room, she had showered and her hair was still a bit wet. She had prepared a padd with all the information about the damage reports of all the science labs. As she stepped in the turbolift she suddenly noticed the soft hum of the engines. She was glad they had them up and running again, and as she turned towards the door a lock of hair fell between her eyes. She brushed it away irritated, but as she felt the wet hair she remembered why she had showered in the first place; sand. She found her thoughts wandering to Luke, the holodeck and the kiss that had followed. She smiled and felt a warm feeling inside of her, she felt...comfortable. Licking her lips, Amhil could still taste the salty taste of the ocean a bit.
'Surfing.' The thought suddenly came up in her. She had always enjoyed surfing back on earth, and she wondered if Luke had ever learned it.
'If not...' An evil grin appeared on her face as she began imagining him on a surfboard.
Amhil was pulled back to reality when she noticed the doors had opened and a Lieutenant was looking at her curiously. She quickly nodded to the lieutenant and exited the turbolift. Wondering exactly how long she had been standing there, she headed for the Captain's ready room. She pressed the button on the panel beside the door and waited for the Captain to let her in.

Trust was working on the helm console seeing if it was still operational. After 2 hours of tinkering around Trust found there was something that he couldn't fix. There appeared to be a circuit break somewhere but he couldn't find it. Trust decided to get Luke to look at it.
"Computer locate Lieutenant Junior Grade LukeDunsmore."
>Lieutenant Junior Grade LukeDunsmore in engineering.<
=/\=Luke this is Trust, there appears to be a device in the helm console. I haven't seen it before and it seems to be disrupting the navigational controls. Can you take a look at it?=/\=
=/\=I'm on my way.=/\=
Luke arrived 5 minutes later carrying his tools.
"So where is this device?"
"Right there." Said Trust pointing.
"So how was the holodeck for you last night?"
"Good why?" Luke said cautiously.
"Oh nothing. Did you see anyone there.....?" Trust said smiling.
"As a matter of fact I did."
"Ahh interesting." Trust said containing a laugh.
"Do you want this device looked at or not Trust?" Luke asked embarrassed.
"HAHA sorry Luke."
Luke reached into the console and grabbed the device.
"Well it appears to be alien. I haven't seen it before. There is some buttons and markings on here. I'm going to have to analyze this some more."
Luke removed the device carefully from the console and soldered the circuits back together. The console whirred and came to life.
"There that should do it. And Trust, it was Amhil."
Luke walked away slightly red. Trust laughed and started a diagnostic on the helm.
OOC - What could this thingy be?

"Ensign Yamill," said Luke. "Hand me the tricorder". Luke was in engineering examining the alien device that Trust had found. "It is emmiting a small amount of radiation," said Luke. "Wait," he said. "There is deurolinear circuits in this thing". "What's that?" said Yamill. "A bomb," said Luke.
"Energise," Luke said. The alien device dematerialised from the transporter pad. The device appeared in space. "Dunsmore to the Bridge!" said Luke. "Take the Olympia at least 3000 km away from the device".
-2 hours later-
Amhil was a great surfer. She stood with confidence as her board glided through the waves. Luke had only ever had one surfing lesson when he was 14 years old and he was more than a little rusty. They were near the shore and Luke fell from his board. He did not pop back up. "Luke?" Amhil yelled. She spotted him washed up on the shore. He lay still. Amhil jumped off her board and swam to the shore. "Luke!" she shouted. "Luke!" She shook him by the shoulders. He opened his eyes. "Suprise," he said and started laughing his head off. "That was a mean trick!" she said albeit with a grin on her face. "Well," said Luke. "You know what they say, always trust a trickster". "Who says?" said Amhil, resting a hand on Luke's chest. "Me," said Luke. They chuckled and exchanged a kiss.
"I can't get a lock!" Yamill shouted as Luke desperately considered his options. There was another alien bomb attached to a primary EPS conduit. "Can't you disarm it?" said Yamill. "I don't know how!" said Luke. The device was flashing and emmiting a beeping noise. "It could go off any second!" said Luke. "Okay," he said. "Everybody out!" The engineering crew apart from Luke and Yamill filed out of the room. "Bring up a forcefield around that conduit!" said Luke but before Yamill could respond there was a huge explosion. The force knocked Luke to the other side of the room. Luke looked at Yamill. A large piece of conduit was embedded in her head. Luke thought of Amhil as he slowly descended into unconcieousness.

"Get me 20cc's of chronometrazine, that should halt the effects of the burns for a while!" said Doctor Jaz to one of his nurses. Amhil sobbed at the back of sickbay as Luke was being operated on. Suddenly, the control panel beeped rapidly. "He's going into cardiac arrest!" said the Nurse. Luke's heartrate flatlined. Amhil turned away, crying her eyes out. "Give him a Mio-cardial shock!" said Jaz. Luke bounced up on the biobed but was still dead. "Again," said Jaz. No effect. "Again, maximum intensity!" This time Luke woke up. He coughed and spluttered. He fell out of concieousness again but was still alive.

Amhil still looked shocked, all the color had drained from her face when she had seen Luke's heartbeat stopping. She was now staring at the form of the body, and relief overwhelmed her when Luke awoke for a second before returning to unconsciousness.
One of the nurses came up to her, saying she clearly needed some rest, but Amhil refused and she stayed, sitting a few meters away. When finally after a few hours the doctor came to tell her Luke would be just fine and she was now allowed to see him, she jumped up and approached the biobed. She carefully slit into the chair that someone had placed next to the bed and just stared at Luke's hands for a long time. Amhil was slowly overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions that were whirling inside of her. She didn't know she should be happy or sad. When Luke had contacted the bridge about the second bomb, they had heard the short conversation between him and Ensign Yamill and the explosion that had followed. Amhil just hoped that there weren't any other bombs onboard, someone clearly really really hated them. The last few days had been quiet hectic with only short pauses to relax. She found that she hadn't really gotten any time to process all the things that happened in those short days, and all of the emotions that she had bottled up inside of her since, came spilling out. So she burst into tears, and when the nurse looked at her quizzically, not knowing what was wrong, Amhil just smiled. 'No smile is as beautiful as the one that struggles through tears.' She was sure that she had read that somewhere, and while she thought this her head slowly lowered onto the bedside and soon she was sound asleep, which was very welcome because she was developing a nice headache.
~*~*~
"Amhil." Someone was calling her name.
'Buzz off.' She thought. She was tired, had awoken from a beautiful dream and her headache was even worse then before, she felt as if a couple of klingons were having a deathmatch inside her head.
".....Ensign!" This time the person used the kind of voice you would expect from a captain, Amhil head snapped up and even though everything was still blurry, she knew that grin on the face that was swimming before her eyes. Blinking a few times, she could finally see clearly and saw Luke grinning at her like a madman.
'Oh it's Luke...' She thought, and for a moment she just stared dumbly at the person in front of her. Suddenly the realization of that name hit her.
She was already up and hugging him, before he knew what was going on. Amhil could hear a muffled something coming from him while she had her arms around her. She quickly released him.
"What was that you said?" She asked, and Luke gasped for air.
"I said....I can't breath!" He exclaimed, and Amhil grinned.
"Consider that your punishment for scaring me like that!"
They chatted for a long time, before one of the nurses walked up to them again, telling that Luke now really needed some rest. Amhil took the time to go to her quarters, shower, put on some fresh clothes and eat something. The last time she had eaten was...a long time ago.
~*~*~
Amhil couldn't help but giggle while she looked at Luke trying to walk around the room. His left leg still had some troubles. It was amazing how fast the engineer was recovering, seeing it had only been 2 days since the explosion. At least Amhil thought it was 2 days. Tomorrow he would be released, Jaz said, if he managed to walk from his bed towards the table a few meters to the left. Luke had done much more then just that, he had walked towards the table, back to the bed, some other beds, the doors and had even managed to get out of sickbay a few meters before the Doctor had almost dragged him back inside.
"I think that's quite enough, Lieutenant." The Trill doctor said, watching the engineer with a slight disapproving expression on his face.
"Come on, doc, please?" Luke said, and finally Amhil got up.
"Ok, that's enough exercise for today." She said, placing her cup of coffee on the table and walking towards him. Even though he would have liked to argue with her, Luke saw the look she was giving him, and knew it would be not wise to do so. Sighing, he threw his hands up in defeat and hopped back to the bed.

The explosion woke Luke up from his deep sleep. The ship shook and suddenly the red alert klaxons blared into action. "Warning," said the Computer. "Warp core coolant leak. Primary and Secondary containment fields are offline. Warp core breach in six minutes". "Doc," said Luke. "You gotta let me go!" Jaz reluctantly nodded. "Computer," Luke said. "Sight to sight transport, Engineering".
Luke materialised in engineering and saw carnage. 5 crewmembers were dead and there was coolant pouring out of a conduit. "Damn it!" Luke said. "Ensign," he said as Ensign Yates passed him by. "Is the coolant system destroyed?" "Yes Sir!" said Yates. "The primary and secondary intercoolant relays have been blown out. The system has failed and a chain reaction has destroyed half of the coolant relays all over the ship". "Somebody doesn't like us," commented Luke and he limped towards the console embedded into the warp core barrier. "Temperature is reaching 2.9 million Kelvans! If we get above 3.5 we're dead!" "Okay," Luke said. "Everybody out!" The engineering crew flooded out of the room. Yates turned on his heal. "What about you Sir?" he said to Luke. "I'm staying," said Luke. "But Sir," Yates protested. "JUST GO!" Luke roared and Yates reluctantly evacuated the ship.
The escape pods launched out into space and headed for a planetoid in the system the Discoverer was in. The senior staff were in engineering. "Try flooding the core with anesticine gas from the auxillary deuterium ports. Route it from the emergency environmental controls!" Luke said to Trust. He immediately did it. "That should slow down the rate of the breach," said Luke. "But only for a few minutes!" The swirling turquoise plasma started to swirl faster inside the core. "Warning," said the Computer. "Warp core breach in 3 minutes". "That's it!" said Luke. "We have to eject the core or we lose the ship". "But that means we are stranded 300 billion lightyears from home with no means of warp travel!" said Jaz. "We have to or we all die!" said Luke. They turned to Soto. "Eject the core," he said. "Trust, get to the bridge and prepare to move us out of range of the explosion". "Aye Sir," said Trust.
The Discoverer shook as the warp core exploded on the outside of the ship. The senior staff looked around as various consoles in engineering exploded in a shower of sparks. The ship was a warzone inside and lots of crewmembers were dead. "Let's start damage repair," said Soto and the crew solemnly walked to their stations.

"What do we have on that class-M planet where the pods are at"
Amhill who was once again busy trying to initialise her console, was somewhat dreamy at work, since she clearly was taken of guard by the commodore's words.
"Huhh...Oh...Just a moment sir....yep the system is now comming back online. It appears to have low-level lifeforms only. The climates and atmosphere are comparable to those on earth."
"Thanks ensign." Soto walked back to his seat and pressed a button on his console. The room immediately transformed into a dark place with a blue glare over the various consoles. Trust Noone immediately started pushing buttons franticly while nodding his head. How he hated those unannounced moves from Soto. The commodore on the other hand enjoyed seeing the reaction from the lieutenant, and he felt he surely earned some entertainment.
"Something fishy is going on on this ship. Untill we exactly find out what it is, I think we will be safer on that planet. I feel like a sitting target here in space.", Soto told the bridgecrew (although it was more directed at himself).
Minutes later the ship touched the ground. A soft landing was made.
"Well done Lieutenant. I couldn't have done it better myself"

"Ne' le salk necru do mie". Luke looked up from his console in engineering. What was that? he wondered. He was alone and the eerie blue glow from the blue alert made Luke uneasy. He continued his work. "Salar m'er tos de merkl". Luke looked up again. Nobody was there. What is going on? Luke thought. He pulled out his tricorder. There was only Luke's lifesign. Suddenly, there was a spike in chronoton particles. "Computer," said Luke. "Activate a nadion sweep of engineering". The was a horrible sound and Luke felt dizzy as the sweep passed over him. However, nadions exposed any out of phase or cloaked lifesigns. Suddenly, a horribly disfigured alien appeared on the level 2 area of engineering.
"Engineering to Bridge," came Luke's voice over the comm. "Go ahead," said Soto. "Sir," said Luke. "Intruder in-". Then, the most blood curdling yell came over the comm and the sound of blood being splattered all over the walls of engineering. "Amhil, Trust, you're with me," said Soto. They grabbed phasers and an to engineering.
The team entered engineering and saw Luke's inards colourfully displayed on the walls of engineering. His empty body lay on the deck, barely recognisable as it had been turned inside out. Amhil screamed, and then an alien appeared behind her. It was disfigured and had a huge claw on the end of it's hand. It pierced Amhil through the back and she dropped to the ground. Trust fired his phaser at the creature but the beam went straight through the creatures abnormal body. It grabbed Trust and ripped him apart limb from limb in front of Soto. Soto yelled and then the creature turned on him.
The last Human was dead. Commander Salax of the Rorian Confederacy recalled Falar, the huge freak of a creature that kiled the Humans. Bombs hadn't worked so Salax had to resort to setting Falar on the Humans. His companion, Grenor, alerted him to a problem. "Falar's phase cloak has suffered from the Humans weapons fire. It is backfiring. It could cause a causality loop!" The colour dained from Salax's reptilian face. "Get it off-" but before he finished time reset itself.
OFF: Thought I would put us in a nice causality loop ;D ! We can begin again from the time Trust found the first bomb. Munipulate the storyline any way you want but try and display signs of deja vu'. We can do the entire thing as many times as anybody wants but always have the loop reset at the point where my post ends but things could happen differently.

OFF: By the way in this version of the loop things happen differently.
ON: The helm station exploded in a ball of fire. The sound of the explosion nearly deafened the bridge crew. Trust was immediately killed. The explosion caused a chain reaction and all of the bridge consoles exploded. Ensign Plato, the acting CTSO was thrown back as sparks erupted from his station. He slid down the wall, his corpse banging its head on the floor. Amhil jumped away from her station as it exploded. She was hurt but not badly. "Warning," said the computer. "The ship is dropping out of warp. Once sublight speed is re-established the ship's navigational systems will not be able to maintain control of the ship". Damn, thought Soto. "Commodore!" said Amhil pointing to the viewscreen. The Olympia was heading for a planetoid. "Oh my-" said Soto.
"Soto to all hands. Brace for impact, we are going to be soft landing". Luke and his engineering staff braced. The Olympia entered the planet's atmosphere. The structual integrity weakened. The entire ship held on for dear life. The Olympia's warp nacelle struck a mountain top. The entire crew lurched forward. In engineering, there was a huge explosion. The starboard bulkhead was ripped away and the engineering staff were sucked out into the planet's atmosphere. Falar, the freak monster, died and his phase creator reset itself.

OFF: Still not sure what's going on but so far paper work sounds like the master plan lol.
ON: Sounds good. ~Giving a soft smile before turning to head for my office. (Again no one has corrected me on the office so it must be so. ;D) Knowing that that grin thing humands do would look to strange on me. I ran though my mind just how much fun this was going to be. Well I knew it ws not an easy job when I took it.~
~Once in my office I let out a soft sigh as I settled into my chair and considered what to do about the new cercumstances that had arisen. From my prospective there was lots to be done. So many people dealing with the tragidies at hand would need ways of coping. I ran though my mind on what to do and went to looking though the logs for information. A new ship full of people I have yet to get to properly know, and something of this magnitude occurs... Wounderfull.~

"Engineering to Commodore Soto," Luke said. "Go ahead," said Soto. "We have just been conducting a durolinar scan to check out the anti-matter reaction chamber. "There appears to be small devices all over-" Luke stopped as a giant beast materialised in front of him. He had no clue what it was. It was horrifically disfigured. "Luke?" came Soto's voice. "What's going on?" Ensign Yamill screamed. Her Ukranian scream was completely distinguishable from anybody else on board. The beast, at least 9 feet tall, swung a large hand at Luke. He flew to the back of the engine room. He dented a bulkhead and fell unconcieous.
"Sir," said Amhil. "There is an unidentified Alien in engineering. It is huge, 9"2". "Ensign Harris," said Soto to the current crewman manning the Security/Tactical station. "Send all security personnel to engineering". Harris exited the bridge and a nervous looking officer manned the S/T station.
Harris and Bates were the only officers left. There was no stopping the beast. Phasers went through it. "Bates!" said Harris. "Hit that EPS conduit next to it!" Bates did so. A huge explosion erupted from the conduit bulkhead. The beast was momentarily disorientated. It seemed to be slightly hurt. Next, Harris hit a secondary coolant tube above the beast. A cloud of gas suddenly washed the beast. Harris fired at the coolant. "Take cover!" he shouted as the gas exploded. The beast screamed as the coolant ignited. There was a chain reaction and the entire secondary coolant system exploded. The fire surrounded the beast and it fell to the ground. "Repair teams to engineering!" said Bates. He could see Harris. He had unwittingly been next to a coolant relay. He lay flaming on the deck.
Luke woke coughing and spluttering. He was being helped by Amhil. "Hey," he said. She helped him up. He looked around. "What happened to my engine room?" he said. Repair teams were struggling to fight a blaze at the fire end of the room. Luke could here the environmental controls going like crazy to filter the smoke. The secondary coolant system was completely blown away and most of the consoles were blown away. The engineering staff and most of the security staff lay strewn about the floor. The large beast was dead.

Jaz looked at the security officers leg. Broken. 4 places. He hailed a group of medics with a stretcher over and had them put the unconcious woman on it. They headed off to sickbay.
He noticed Amhil helping Luke. The scene in engineering was terrible. He'd already helped 8 people most of which he had to have carted off to sickbay. He walked over to Luke and Amhil. He pushed the young engineer back down and ran his tricorder over him.
"A miracle!" He muttered, "You are not seriously injured. Your just going to have a headache for a while."
Luke grinned, "I noticed." He got to his feet, looked around, and the grin faded away. Jaz nodded and left the two to themselves and went to help the last of the wounded laying in sickbay. Jaz joined a severely bleeding engineer, who had been blasted in the head by the attacker, to sickbay.
He thought depressedly that it would probably quite a while untill he and Purmau had a drink.

"Okay," said Luke as the fire in engineering was finally put out. "Everybody, work on trying to bring all the consoles and the engineering computer core back online. Auxillary sub-processors won't last forever". The makeshift engineering staff (seeing as the rest were dead) of science officers began at their work.
"Amhil," said Luke. Amhil woke up. She looked around confused. She had been asleep in her quarters and had missed their date. "Sorry Luke," she said. "Never mind," said Luke. "I've done it more than once".

"I forgot all about it." Amhil said, she had been working overtime and she had practically fallen asleep by her computer. She picked up the padd from the ground that had probably slipped from her hand. She sighed as she cast a look on it. Her head was throbbing but she ignored it. She doubted that anyone onboard was getting rest and most were pulling double shifts to get all the repairs done. It was a miracle the ship hadn't been blown to pieces yet. Hadn't she thought that before? She looked at the chronometer on the wall and realized she had been asleep for about two hours. She felt her eyelids drooping again, she needed to find a way to keep herself awake for at least another couple of hours. Although coffee would maybe work better, the shower was closer.
"I'll be right back." Amhil told Luke and placed the padd on the table. She got up and disappeared into the shower, leaving Luke alone in the room.
Luke looked around the room, his eyes fell on the various objects on the table. He looked more closely and outstretched his arm to poke one of them to see what it did. Suddenly the door opened again and Amhil's head reappeared.
"Oh, and watch but don't touch." She said and smirked before disappearing again.

"Sorry," said Luke and he snapped his hand away from the device on the table. "I've been thinking about how we can get back to Earth," Luke said. "I have nearly found a way to re-open the anomaly." "How?" said Amhil. "Well," said Luke. "If I can get a ship the same as the one we found with that guy on board that nearly killed you, me and Trust, I can perhaps create the anomaly by using that ship's deflector to admit an anti-tetrionic burst. I can't do that with the Olympia we couldn't possibly generate that much power". "We need to find another alien ship then?" said Amhil. "Yes," said Luke. "But I don't know how". Amhil exited her bathroom. She was in a stunning nightgown. "How about," she said. "We forget about anomalies and tetrionic pulses and spend the night in my quarters?" Before Luke answered Amhil pulled him into her sleeping quarters.

Luke kissed Amhil goodbye. Wow, he thought as he made his way to engineering. He was pondering a way to produce a tetrionic pulse to re-open the anomaly so the Olympia could get home. Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning it struck him.
"Captain," Luke said as he walked the briefing room after all the senior officers had assembled there. "If we rig a shuttle's warp core and deflector to emmit neurolectic particles, then fire a torpedo rigged to emmit anti-protons, a tetryonic explosion would occur allowing us to enter the inevitable anomaly. The problem is trying to get the anomaly to carry us to Earth". "Well," said Amhil. "If we plot a course for Earth and jump to impulse whilst emmiting omicron particles we should be able to 'bend' the anomaly and make it carry us to Earth". "An excellent idea," said Soto. "However," said Luke. "The tetrionic explosion would obliterate the Olympia before we even had chance to move". "If," said Soto. "We keep reinforcing the shields with anti-protons whilst infusing the deflector with chlorolectic pulses it could re-inforce the shields but it would drain the power". "That's our best option," said Luke.

"Now!" shouted Luke. Ensign Gateau, a makeshift engineering officer, initiated the neurolectic pulse from the main deflector. THe beam fired into space, causing the early stages of the anomaly to form.
On the bridge, Ensign Falco fired the torpedo that was rigged to emit anti-protons. There was a mass explosion. "Re-inforce tghe shields!" said Soto. Power went down all ove the ship as the shields were constantly being bombarded with anti-protons. The bridge and engineering were the only areas with power. "Lt. Trust," said Soto. "Take us in". The Olympia glided towards the anomaly. The ship rocked and fuses blew out. "We should emit the Omicron particles now!" said Amhil. Soto agreed and the main deflector emitted the Omicron particles. A feeling of sensuality and tranquility fell over the crew as a white light flooded the bridge.
"We did it," said Amhil. One the viewscreen, the spectacular image of Earth rising to block the sun met the eyes of the crew of the Olympia. "Soto to all hands, we did it".

Fine we are now out of the anomaly and back at Earth. We need a new mission and the only reason I posted 3 times in a row was because nobody else was posting!

sorry to butt in, but perhaps you guys would like to assist us on a new project? as of may 10 the Vesuvius will embark to a planet that has stopped spinning several centuries back. We'll go try to get it back spinning (own axis orbit tat is, you know like our 24 hour spin)
if ur interested?
<sorry for butting in commodore;)>
