Orko came in before the shields were charged and was already on the bridge when the torpedo was fired. “Orko, I’m so glad to see you.” “Please state the reasons for my withdrawal.” “We found a less dangerous way to deal with the mines.” “The explanation is sufficient.”, said the robot hovering next to Mike. Mike worked with machines and gadgets all his life but he never thought that you could get so attached to a robot. He was overwhelmed with joy because of Okro’s return. Everyone one the bridge was very happy to be alive and ready to continue the pursuit after the Ramstein. The only thing that spoiled the mood on the bridge was the voice that came through the comm system. =/\=Jack to the bridge!! =/\= The Comm. was also very surprised and somewhat annoyed when he heard Jack’s voice: “Who gave him access to the comm system?” It appeared that Jack had some important information about the Ramstein and a few small complaints about Cavit’s recent behaviour. Personally, Mike didn’t mind Cavit’s behaviour one bit, in fact he thought it was right on the nose ;D. Comm. left the bridge leaving Cmdr. Gibson in charge. Mike was still bothered by the mines. He had an idea and so he made a few more scans of the mines to make sure whether he was right. A moment later a message came through the comm system. =/\= Loskene to bridge, I'm calling a senior staff meeting in 15 minutes. I will brief you on the situation and I need options. Loskene out. =/\= Mike turned to Orko: “We don’t need you here for the moment. Could you please go to my room and feed Boa for me?” “The assignment will be carried out.”, said Orko. “Good, see you soon.” 15 minutes later the meeting begun. After clearing up everything and solving Mc’s status, everyone was a bit sad because he was leaving. But business had to move on. Mike decided to speak: “Excuse me, Comm., but I’m still concerned about the mines. Even though they are deactivated, I don’t think that its safe to leave that kind of firepower just floating in space. Someone might get to them, and as you know, nothing is irreparable.” “Well, do you have any suggestions?”, asked the Comm. “Yes, I do. I suggest we bring them aboard and dismantle them. They will be no threat and yet maybe we could use the parts. As you know, rulium is precious, and to some the rogarium , too. ”
OCC: Guys, someone requested the specs for Orko and I’m sorry about not giving them, I simply never phrased them precisely. But I’ve decided to add them to my bio as a special part for any future reference.

“And why aren’t you at this meeting that the Commodore has scheduled, hm hm hm” sang Jacks voice throughout the cargo bay, his moustache twitching slightly as Jonathan bought the medical tricorder closer to his nose “Chief Medical Officer my title may be, but I’m not really, well not until I’ve graduated anyway, then I’ll be able to attend the meetings.” Jacks face twitched as a look of disgust befell it, “See Patrick, see, see? They don’t even send us a proper doctor, they send us an amateur.” “Well if you want the truth I don’t wish to fix your nose anyway, I think you deserved it” replied the young doctor.
The air grew tense before Jack finally broke off his glare as he jumped behind Patrick, “See Patrick I told you that doctors were trouble hm hm hm. Didn’t I? He’ll want to open us up next see what makes us tick what makes us different.” Patrick began to whimper “No he doesn’t, not all doctors are bad what about that one that we visited on that space station?” “Yeah, but he was a mutant too, hm hm hm, this ones worse, a lot worse. Do you know why?” “No” Patrick began to blubber, “He’s a hybrid, he’s not true race at all, see them markings” Jack pointed towards Jonathans spots, “You’d think he’s a Trill, hm hm hm, but he’s not oh no he’s not, he’s actually more human hm hm hm.” “And what difference does that make?” returned Nicholls “It makes me wonder what the generations before you used to get up to.” sniggered Jack from behind the frame of Patrick.
Without warning some deep anger welled within Jonathan as the insult to his family struck home before he clenched his fist around his tricorder but stopped before he progressed any further, Jack began to jump up and down behind Patrick as he pointed at Jonathan, “See that hm hm hm, see how he clenched his fist? Violent as well this hybrid is hm hm hm, but he knows he’ll get into trouble if he does anything.” “Oh please this little boy looks as if he couldn’t harm a fly” Lauren suddenly piped up, “Ah you’d think that hm hm, but no no that’s why he’s here transferred for brawling hm hm, like his brother, violent, the two of them violent” “What?” snapped Jonathan, “Yes, hm hm, the Captain has been known to be very violent hm hm, he’s on his final warning is he not? Please tell us.” Jonathans eyes flared, “It is none of you concern” “It is yes, I don’t want the brother of some lunatic poking and plodding me” “Then I’ll find you someone else” barked Nicholls, “Nicholls to Lt Cropper” =^= Yes? =^= came the mans voice, “Could you come to the cargo bay please, our friend Jack request another doctor” =^= Right away =^= “There, happy?” scowled Nicholls “It’s a start it is” replied Jack.
*****
“I cant believe I let him talk to me like that” shouted Jonathan as he hit his fist down on his desk, “Well I think you did very well” came the calm reply of the EMH, “You didn’t result to violence and didn’t lower yourself to his level.” Jonathans face softened, “I guess, oh well no harm done, sticks and stones” “Very good, we’ll have you a pacifist in no time” smiled the doctor, “Sickbay is in order why not have a nap?” suggested the EMH as Jonathan pushed his chair further back from the table before placing his legs on it, “That’s not a bad idea”, he smiled.

Strife stode down the corridor she was finally off duty, she reeked of sweat and dust she spent the last 17 hours in engineering fixing a blunderup made by patrick , apon seeing her he let out a yell and ran the opposite direction.
She found Pasek in the mess hall having a drink and she decided to sit beside him *Dammit * she thought *why does he have to be so darn cute* "Mind if I sit her sugah?"
"Hmm?" Pasek looked like he was lost in thought it took him 30 seconds to process what strife said to him "Oh yeah sure"
Pasek studied the trill for a bit the he blurted out "are you a joined trill?"
Strife smiled "No, don't worry I'm used to that question," she set down her orange juice and smiled "I was raised on earth by humans"
"Really?" Pasek said "How?"
"I really don't remeber I was about six years old when I was found by a starfleet admiral, I recall I didn't know who I was or where i came from" Strife said
"Wait starfleet admiral? .....Admrial Gordon Cavit?" Pasek couldn't belive his ears the same man who sponsored him thought the academy "I heard he was killed in a battle with the borg"
Strife nodded "Yes I was an ensign aboard the excalibur when it happend , we where supposed to join up with that fleet when it happend, we didn't make it, by the time the battle was finnished there where only five ships left USS Evdor, USS Vesuvuis, USS Enterprise, USS Tobias and the USS Thunderchild"
Pasek Frowned he heard of it , 23 ships engaged a cbue five ships came out of it, Captain Jean Luc Picard was killed in that battle and the Tobias was a modified Oberth class ship designed to fight.
"Sorry" Pasek said
"Don't worry about it " She placed a hand on his knee and smiled at him , they stared at eachother for a few minutes, what she didn't realize how close they were together , they slowly leaned towards eachother
Pasek your next i hope ^^

Mike sat there staring at her. They served together for quite some time now, yet he never noticed how handsome she really was. Usually he immediately notices things that attract him on a woman but with her he missed them completely. Just now he noticed ho strong but gentle her look was, and how soft but reassuring her touch was. And her spots made her even more exotic, therefore even more attractive. He didn’t even noticed how close they got in this short moment, but it didn’t matter to him since he wasn’t even aware of it. The next moment their lips were touching. Mike felt her soft lips on his, his fingers touched her face that was so soft and silky, and that soft scent of sweat was really the finishing touch that made this moment perfect. Even though it didn’t seem so, but Mike liked those somewhat wild types. Strife ran her fingers through his hair so strongly that he felt every single hair on his head and neck. It was a moment he’ll never forget.
=/\= Telak (NPC) to Lt. Pasek. =/\=
This was a wake up call for Mike. He realised what was happening and sort off jumped just a little, tapping his comm badge.
=/\= Ehm...uhm... yes, Pasek here. =/\= =/\= Sir, please come to the bridge, there’s something that urgently needs your attention. =/\= =/\= Ehm, I’ll be right there. =/\=
Mike started to get up and looked at Cavit: “Ehm...uhm...I gotta...”, he couldn’t make a proper sentence. “Go, go.”, said Strife with a small smile. Mike smiled and headed out of the mess hall. On his way out he managed to knock over a few empty chairs. He was still a bit shaky after that kiss but he’ll come to. Strife was just looking at him and laughing every time he knocked over another chair.

Mike arrived on the bridge where Telak (NPC) waited for him.
“Report, ensign. What was so urgent?” “We have located the Ramstein.”, said Telak in his calm Vulcan fashion, “But there is something strange.” “Well, lets have a look.”, said Mike frowning.
Telak brought the data collected by the sensors earlier to the screen. The sensors had managed to pick up Ramstein’s warp trail. Something probably happened that made the hijackers forget to mask their trail, or they were damaged and they weren’t able to do it. A light year after the trail became detectable, the Ramstein apparently dropped out of warp. The trail that started then was from the Ramstein’s impulse engines. Right there a second trail separated from Ramstein.
“Do we know what made that second trail?”, asked Mike very puzzled by these scans. “It is probably one of Ramsteind shuttles.”, replied Telak. “Why would the Ramstein stop masking his warp trail, drop out of warp and deploy one of it’s shuttles?”, asked Mike and continued a second later, “Telak, is it possible that they sent it on an away mission?” “In my opinion it is highly improbable. The flight patterns indicated by these trails seem to be very independent. The Ramstein didn’t slow down when the shuttle headed out, nor did the Ramstein change direction. It kept going on it’s calculated trajectory.”
This seemed very strange to Mike. It was odd that a runaway ship would plan away missions, and even if it did, it wouldn’t send of the shuttle without even slowing down. And it would be foolish to expect a shuttle to catch up with a ship Ramstein’s size. Mike tossed and turned these ideas in his head, over and over for a few minutes, and then it came to him: deserters. Some of those hijackers probably didn’t like their captains ideas so they decided to abandon ship.
“Telak , could you try to calculate the trajectory of that shuttle? Try to find a place where it could have landed... And pay special attention to uninhabited planets with a breathable atmosphere.” “Yes, sir. Might I ask why?”, asked Telak while he started to input the commands into the computer. “I think”, said Mike, “that, who ever is in that shuttle, didn’t like the Ramstein or it’s crew to much, so they decided to go away and lay low.” “Sir? Do you mean, someone deserted?”, asked Telak. “Yes, exactly that.”
By the time Telak and Mike cleared this up, the computer calculated the trajectory of the shuttle and highlighted the possible locations for the shuttle to go.
“Here, sir.”, said Telak, “They had heading of 120-20. The computer found several systems in that direction, but the only that matches our request is the Bersus system, most likely Bersus IV.” “Good job, ensign.”, said Mike tapping his comm badge. =/\= Lt. Pasek to Comm. Loskene. =/\= =/\= Go ahead, Lt. =/\= =/\= Sir, we discovered some interesting facts about the Ramstein. I would like to talk to you about it. =/\= =/\= Very well, in my office in 5 minutes. Loskene out. =/\=
===================================================
Mike entered the Comm. office. After the usual formalities and sitting down, Mike started to explain to the Comm. his findings and his ideas.
“Deserters?”, asked the Comm. finding this fact very unlikely. “Are you sure?” “Very sure, sir. There is no other logical explanation.”, said Mike, “There is no other logical explanation for those scans, and even less for going to an uninhabited system like Bersus.” “So, if I understood you correctly, you are now suggesting that I send you on an away mission after that shuttle alone, and for us to continue after the Ramstein. You don’t seriously think that I’ll...” “But, sir.”, responded Mike in a very serious tone, “ Those people have probably run away because they were scared of something. Why else would they gamble with sabotage of the Ramstain and try to escape. And when you think they are not running from ordinary humans. ” “That certainly doesn’t persuade me to let you go alone.”, said the Comm. very strongly. It was obvious that he’s not going to let this one pass. “Sir, can I speak freely.”, asked Mike after taking a deep breath. “Go ahead.” “Sir, if the Ramstein decides to turn around and tries to take another whack at the Jefferson, you’ll need every man you can spare, even with those two onboard. ”, said Mike referring to Jack and Patrick, “And besides, a shuttle usually carries three people, and I think I could handle that, even more because they abandoned the Ramstein, therefore they could even be on my side. Sir, you need to let me go. Who knows what they know, or what disaster may strike, when even they abandon it’s cause.” Loskene didn’t agree with this but he decided that he won’t argue anymore. He’ll assign someone to Mike later when it’ll be to late to object. “Very well then, Mr. Pasek, but be extra, extra careful.” “You don’t need to tell me that, sir.”, said Mike clearly excited about the assignment. He got up, saluted the Comm. and went out into the hallway and towards the shuttle bay. Passing through the bridge he just threw a quick remark to Telak: “Make sure you and Tomora (NPC) secure all the mines in the cargo bay. They need to be checked every 6 hours, just to be safe.”
In the hallway Mike ran into Strife. As soon as he saw her he blushed, what Strife of course noticed, but she just smiled and continued on. A few minutes later Mike entered the shuttle bay.

Strife went to Loskene as ordered and she wondered what this was about "Ms Cavit come I have a few brief words for you and then I will be sending you on your way"
"On my way?...you kicking me off the ship? " She paled at this
Loskene blinked "Umm no not exactly...I'm sending you off with Pasek, we need a pilot and two security gaurds to acompany you "
Strife let out a sigh of releif "Lemmie guess report to the shuttlebay? "
"Yes" Loskene said buntly
Strife met up with the security guards and loaded on the shuttle and then plopped herhelf in the pilots chair and smiled at Pasek
"Looks like you get stuck with me" Strife said Pasek flushed again and nodded "yes ma'am"
"Just call me Strife"
"Yes Strife"
Strife stuck out her tounge jokingly and started the launch sequence she hadn't flown a shutle in months and being used to flying somehthing enormous it's gonna be a change for her , of course she used to be a fighter pilot during the dominion war so she had years of experince backing her
"Ready ? " Strife called "Yes ma'am" the guards
Pasek and strife smled at the pale gaurds , the never been in a shuttle before and now Gibson forced the two into the shuttle and go with them

Mike was sitting in the shuttle and was just about to make the final adjustments when he heard the shuttle bay door open. He didn’t pay any special attention to it but he had a gut feeling that something is going to happen. The next moment he was about to sit in the pilots chair, when suddenly a voice came from the shuttle doors.
“Mind if we join you?”, asked Strife standing already in the shuttle with two more security guards. Mike didn’t even have time to respond and Strife was already sitting in the pilots seat closing the shuttle door.
Mike knew that Loskene set her and those two guards and from Strife’s quick actions it was very obvious that this arrangement won’t be negotiable. Now it was clear to him why Loskene gave up their discussion so quickly, he already made up his mind when Mike opened his mouth the first time. Seeing that there’s no point in arguing, Mike sat in the co-pilot’s seat, while Strife slowly but surely, flew the shuttle out of the shuttle bay.
“Bersus system, I see.”, said Strife looking at the course Mike put in, “What are we going to do there?”
“We’re following a hunch. I think some runaway mutants who didn’t like Ramstein to much might be there.”, Mike replied.
Strife nodded and engaged the warp drive.
===============================================================
The shuttle dropped out of warp on the edge of the Bersus system. Bersus was a system of 7 planets rotating around a yellow G type star. During the flight, Mike explained to Strife all about his theories and that the rebels were probably on their way to Bersus IV. As soon as they dropped out of warp, Strife set a course and headed for Bersus IV. From what Mike found in the data base, the USS Enterprise once visited this planet while in pursuit of dr. Tolian Soran. Lt. Cmdr. Data, who was sent to the surface, reported many interesting things, from cute little herbivores to hostile plants that shoot out spikes like projectiles if one gets to close. Mike was never down there and he was really looking forward to it, even though it might be dangerous.
“Approaching Bersus IV.”, Strife said soon, “Prepare for landing.”
Mike already found a suitable location for landing, the shuttle assumed the right angle and, guided by Strife’s sure hands, it begun it’s descent. After landing, Mike was the first to jump out of the shuttle. The surroundings were beautiful. Pure, untarnished nature. The plants were as green as can be, everything was full of flowers, and tall mountains of beige stone surrounded the whole valley. Lower in the valley, there was a lake with two islands in the middle, and all around the coast were beige rocks and cliffs, surrounded by thick yellow and green shrubs, some smaller some bigger. As Mike looked down he saw a small animal grazing on a patch of weeds. It was small with scaly armour on its back, four small legs, a tiny tail, a long snout and a long tongue, and all red. Mike couldn’t help himself, he knelt down and patted the creature. When it felt his hand it raised it’s head and looked at him. It had the cutest black eyes. Patting and looking at it, Mike said: “Hi there, little fellow. Nice home you got here.”

"Hey strife look at this" Pasek called
Strife walked up behind him and looked at the tiny creature "awwww"
She reached down and patted it on it's head" How cute"
"Very" Pasek said the gaurds kept their distance from the creature
Strife jerked upwards a flash of white passed over jer and she swore she heard her mothers voice :Come on honey time for bed" Pasek looked at Strife for a moment "You ok?"
She nodded and the continued walking scanning for life signs
Pasek's tricorder beeped "500 meters ahead of us"

It had been a few weeks since Penny had joined the Jefferson, but most of that time had been spent locked away in her office sorting through records and meeting with patients, so as a result, she had hardly seen any of the ship. She was sifting through the computer system looking for notes on Crewman Jones, a patient who had recently visited her with mild post traumatic stress disorder, when her Comm. badge chirped. =^= Counsellor, this is Dr Nicholls, would you be able to spare me a few moments please? I have a patient who I feel needs your attention. =^= “I’ll be right with you.” She replied, clearing the screen and heading for the sickbay. As she marched down the halls, an unpleasant train of thought steamrollered through her head. ‘Nicholls? It can’t be him. He’s still only a kid! But no, there are plenty of people by the name of Nicholls. It’s just a coincidence.’ she reassured herself as the doors to the sickbay slid gently aside. Standing in the small office to her left, with his back turned to her, was a horribly familiar figure. Her jaw clenched; it was the same Nicholls. “… yes ensign, but I really feel you ought to come in so I can have a look at it.” He was saying into his Comm. badge, “Mauve, you say? Well, your hand really shouldn’t be that colour.” She marched into the office, wait for the door to close behind her, then slapped Jonathan across the cheek just as he turned to face her. He staggered back in surprise, tried to focus on the slender woman before him, then his pupils contracted with fear as he suddenly realised who she was. “You?” was all he managed to say as he clutched at the desk for support. “Yes,” Penny replied grimly, “me.” “But how… what… I mean…” He gabbled. “Ah, I see you have lost none of your wit, charm and eloquence since I last met you.” She said sourly. “But it seems we are going to be working together, so we’d best put the past behind us for the moment. You said you had a patient for me?” Jonathan, still seemingly at a loss for words, nodded mutely and led her to an unhappy man in his late thirties and a gold uniform. Finally regaining the ability to construct a coherent sentence, he said, “This is Lieutenant Rogers,” after flashing a quick glance at Penny to check she wasn’t about to attack him with a scalpel, he continued, “He came in about half an hour ago with a swelling on his ankle, but won’t let me examine it. He seems to be…” “I can speak for myself, you know!” the man interrupted bluntly. “OK then,” Penny turned to him, her face lit with a winning smile, “Why do you not want the doctor to examine you?” “I don’t like doctors.” He muttered shortly. “Then why did you decide to come here in the first place?” She asked analytically. “I had to, the ruddy thing’s swollen up like a balloon!” “So surely it would be better to let him treat you quickly, then you can leave.” “But look at him! He’s still just a kid.” “Would it reassure you if I told you that I have known Dr Nicholls for a number of years now, and have found him to be a perfectly competent medic?” She asked, every ounce of resentment she felt towards Jonathan hidden beneath this professional exterior. “Maybe.” Rogers grunted noncommittally. After a further ten minutes of discussion and persuasion the lieutenant finally allowed the doctor to examine him, and was hobbling out of the room two minutes later. “Thank you, counsellor.” Jonathan said through gently gritted teeth. “Anytime doctor.” She replied with only the slightest hint of coldness frosting the edges of her otherwise sincere tone. And with that she left to return to her office, wondering why the Fates hated her so much that they felt she deserved such a cruel and unusual punishment.

Commodore Loskene was in his ready room, tapping his fingers on his desk. It was a nervous habit he was developing. Time was of the essence, and it was up to the Jefferson to avert a war.
Loskene heard a beep from his communicator and activated it.
Loskene: Commodore Loskene here.
Pasek: Pasek here sir! We are safely on the planet, and we are picking up lifesigns 500 meters ahead.
Loskene: Understood. Proceed with caution. Keep an open com link.
Pasek: Will do sir.
Another beep came, this time from the bridge.
Officer: Commodore, the Ramstein has entered Tholian space.
Loskene: Oh no... =^=Pasek, put your running shoes on, the Ramstein has just entered Tholian space=^=
Pasek: Ah! Right away sir! C'mon people, hurry!
Loskene: Loskene to bridge, has there been any weapons fire?
Officer: We can't tell at this range sir.
Loskene got up and walked onto the bridge.
Loskene: Commander Gibson, launch a probe. I want to keep on top of things.
Gibson: Aye sir, I'll get right on it.
Loskene: Hail the Tholians, and keep hailing them every minute if you have to!
Officer: Aye sir.

Strife and Pasek followed the life signs on Bersus IV, the trailed them till they hit an encampment that consited a Trill, a Boilian ,and a bajoran and to Strife's amazement a vulcan but what caught her attention was a the trill, her features were distinguishable, sandy blond hair blue eyes and a nose like Strife's
She let out a gasp "mother"
"huh? you say somthing?" Pasek said he grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze
Strife shook her head "No it's nothing"
She heart a short cry of surprise behind her only to see one of the security guards get his neck broken by a Vulcan "Ah intruders and if not mistaken our pursuers" The Vulcan sneered
"What do you want" Pasek snarled
"Sinple" the Vulcan smiled "surrender you wepons to us and come with us quitely and we won't kill her" The vulcan jammed his disruptor into the side of the second security guards head she stood there shaking with fear
Pasek grabbed his phaser out of his holster and threw it to the ground at the Vulcans feet and Strife tossed her Phser and phaser Rile in the vulcans direction with a glare what could melt ice
"Much better come with us and we will explain ourselves , and you might live to see our objective acomplished" The Vulcan sneered
With a grunt Pasek stood up and he grabbed Strifes hand and held it , Strife was pale somthing bothered her and he coudn't figure out what.

Mike was thinking very hard trying to find a way out of this situation but he couldn’t do anything without endangering others. The three men that captured them were leading them to their encampment probably to talk to them, or at least that’s what Mike thought to himself for reinsurance. Just as they were entering the encampment one of the captors turned to the others.
“They have comm badges. Their crew might try to contact them.”, the Boilian said. “That’s right. We should probably remove them.”, said the Vulcan but on both his and the other two faces it was obvious that this fact slipped their mind when they were figuring out a backup plan if anything like this happened. The Vulcan was already holding Mike’s combadge and was ready to take it of him when the Trill reacted:
“No, leave them.”, she said, took out her tricorder and whispered into the Vulcan’s ear, “If the ship hails them and they don’t respond to hails there’s a bigger chance that they’ll come looking for them. It would be better if they could respond but not say anything.” The Trill started scanning the around and judging by the look on her face she found what she was looking for.
“There, that cave.”, she said pointing to a small cavern in a small hill just behind the encampment and as they started moving she approached the Vulcan again and whispered, “It’s rock are magnesite, they will cause much interference in their comm system. They will be able to respond and yet the crew won’t be able to understand a thing and they’ll probably wait for the interference to clear up on it’s own.” The Vulcan was very pleased with the idea: “They won’t come looking for them because the scans will show that they’re in a cave and they’ll just wait for these three to maybe come out. Very ingenious.”
The Trill just smiled. She was still looking around looking for life signs but there was nothing on it that would be cause for alarm, just the usual plant life. The cave and the hill were surrounded by bushes and weeds, and to get to the cave they needed to pass through a 50 m passage in the vegetation. Obviously, these three never explored this cave since they stumbled upon a very disturbing fact. Just as they were about to enter the passage in the vegetation, a swarm of sharp, inch long thorns started to fly out of the bushes. Mike was surprised and so were the three captors. Luckily for Mike and his friends, the tricorder can’t tell you wetter the vegetation is hostile or not. To avoid the thorns the three jumped to the side, Mike gave the situation a quick assessment, grabbed his crew mates and jumped into the bushes. He thought that the thickness of the bush and the leaves will protect them from the thorns and it’ll keep, along with the thorns, the three captors out. And it worked.
“Are you nuts? You threw us in the thorn bush!”, said Strife really angry about Mike’s reaction. “I know.”, he said, “But this way at least were safe and away from gunpoint.” The only thing that bothered Mike was how to get out of these shrubs now. To give himself a bit rest he rolled over to sit up since he was laying face down. He didn’t notice that there’s something behind him and as he rolled he sat on it. Immediately 7 sharp thorns flew out from under him almost hitting Strife. Mike quickly rolled back and grabbed the thing he sat on to se what it is. It was a small light green plant with yellowand red dots all over, and a big squashed balloon on top. He looked around to find another one, he picked it and gave the balloon, which was firm on this one, a gentle squeeze. Out of it, a thorn came flying out like a bullet. It was one of those thorn spitting plants he read about when he was preparing for the mission.
“Strife, look at this.”, said Mike with a silly smile on his face. “What?” “I think I found us some new phasors.”, he smiled. Strife gave him that pitiful ‘you must be nuts, you poor man’ look, but after a moment she said: “Ah, well, at least if we come charging with that, they’ll die of laughter.”

Strife looked at Mike with wonder,"Wil they actually work?"
Mike gave the plant a squeeze and a thorn shot out and stuck into a tree
"Yup" Mike grinned
Strife looked at the plants with intrest the security gaurd with them Ensign Maydell Strife found out, had a gleam in her eye, so we could fight?
"I wouldn't recommend it " Strife said "Not yet anyway"
*thats my mother thats working for them* Strife though but she was declared missing then how? she fought back tears and regained her composure
"We need to get a message ot the Jefferson and quick" Strife said "I'll make a run for the shuttle"
Pakesk nodded and ensign Maydell looked at them if they where both nuts "Are you ..INSANE??the'll kill you "
Strife didn't like pulling rank very much but it had ot be done "you're out of line ensign"
She grabbed Pasek and kissed him "I'll be back before you know it"
She crawled from the bush and ran as fast as she could move , she got about 10 feet from the shuttle before she was shot by the Vulcan
She was thrown back a few feet from a direct hit knocking the wind out of her "Thats far enough Starfleet tell me where are your friends are before I kill you"
"Go to hell" Strife spat she noticed that her saliva came out like blood
"No we aren't killing her yet" The Trill came out behind the shuttle "She bares an uncanny resemlance to me"
*Mother* Stife though in horror *why? how?* The words stuck in her throat the last thing she knew she was backhanded by the Vulcan then every thing whent black

OFF: Big welcome to both of our new officers!
ON: After pushing Strife and Mike into the shuttle by their necks, Aral headed out of the shuttle bay. He wondered why Mike had been blushing, but simply shrugged.
The mission briefing had been quick and simple. Find out why the deserters and done just that- deserted. Loskene had given Aral a few reminders to give to the group- #1 Keep a nuetral tone. #2 Make sure everyone gets safely home and #3 Don't take risks. Aral knew quite well that with Strife and Mike together on the same mission that that 3rd one would be hard to follow.
"Bridge." The turbolift moved gracefully at his words and Aral felt for the 1st time that day how tight his back muscles were. "Ouch." he rotated his shoulder, and then felt something in his back scream in pain. "For the love of god!" he muttered, "Turbolift- belay last order. Sickbay."
Aral stumbled into sickbay holding his back. "Doctor!" The room had only a few patients now. Most had returned to quarters or their duties. A good surprise was that Molly Henderson, one of Aral's security officers who had snapped at him earlier, was one of the patients. A young nurse was running a medical device over her burned skin.
"Cmdr. Gibson! I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon!" Nicholls said in a slightly tired voice.
"Believe me- It wasn't my choice." Aral grunted as the young ensign guided him over to a bio bed.
Nicholls ran a tricorder over Aral's back, "O my. You've really been working that back, sir."
"Wonder why, when i've been crawling through jeffries tubes all day...." Aral breathed.
"You don't have to snap at me Cmdr. I've got enough to deal with already." Nicholls said, slightly insulted.
Aral grimaced, "Sorry, Doc. I'm a bit tired I suppose. Whats your problems?"
"Well...." The young mans forehead creased slightly, "The least part of it would be her..." He gestured at a woman standing with a stubborn crewman Aral recognized as Lieutenant Rogers, a technician in the Science department.
"Why's she a problem?" Aral said curiously.
"Bit of a voice from the past." Nicholls responded with a small chuckle.
Aral laughed and then said, deciding not to pry any further, "What can you do about my back then doc?"
"Well we don't have any masseuse's on hand I'll have to give you a painkiller and a suggestion to get some good sleep and most important- Don't sleep on that side." He said while pushing a hypospray into Aral's neck.
Aral mock saluted, "Thank's Doc." and then left for the bridge to check up on the probe. It should have been entering tholian space about now...

After saying a few quiet goodbyes mc7 headed towards the Jeffersons main shuttlebay. As he enter the large room, he noticed two tech's putting the finishing touches to the craft that would carry him to the next part of the story that was his life.
"She'll be ready for you in a minute Sir,"
one of the tech's called over.
Mc7 nodded in acknowlegment, and took one last looks around. This would be the last room he would see abaord the Jefferson. When the tech's moved away from the shuttle, the former borg boarded the shuttle and ran through the preflight sequinces.
"Shuttlecraft Orchy to shuttle bay. Permission to depart."
Granted, came the reply from the bay.
With that word, the shuttle gracefully lifted from the bay floor, and moved forward, a faint hum sounding as it passed through the atmospheroic forcefield.
As the shuttlecraft cleared the ship and went to warp, mc7 whispered a small farewell to things that could have been.

There was a sudden burst of anger within the young doctor as he watched Penny strut about his sickbay as if she owned the place, if she was anything like her aunt she probably did think she owned the place.
His glare suddenly ceased as his fingers began to twitch suddenly before a flash of gold shone from beneath his right sleeve, “And what do you want?” spoke Jonathan to the bracelet, “Oh I only wish to help” a voice slivered through his head, “Would you like me to sort her out for you?” “No I do not.” spat Jonathan to himself as his face turned pale. He ran his fingers through his messy black hair before continuing, “You shouldn’t be here, you cant be trusted. Its not safe” “Is that what you think? Afraid that I will get you into trouble? You’re a Trill, don’t all Trills want to be hosts of some kind?” “I guess so” mumbled the doctor, “Good, you know that I wont get you into any trouble” slivered the voice sickly, “Oh so lashing out at that Klingon wasn’t supposed to get me into trouble?” “A slight miscalculation, I am not used to being held within such a small, such a fragile body” “You are used to being in my brothers body.” spat Jonathan, “You have moved through my family like a disease ever since he encountered you ten years ago, a cheap clone of him designed to create unrest, but he got you didn’t he and now your trapped in this thing living off us like some sort of parasite” yelled the doctor as he looked at the burnished gold bracelet latched to his arm, “Silence” came the voice as a sharp surge of pain shot through his causing Jonathan slump down into his, “Look after me and I’ll look after you.”
“Talking to yourself again?” spoke the sarcastic Counsellor as she leant in the door way, obviously trying to pick another fight, Jonathan flushed suddenly as he thought for an answer, “I was, I was talking to Nuisance” he finally answered as the ginger tom cat prowled across the room and jumped up onto his desk, “Down, good cat” he mumbled as he placed the purring figure on the floor, “We need to talk doctor” spoke Penny, a serious tone in her voice, Jonathans eyes shut heavily before they opened again, dark shadows emerging around the bottom of his sockets, “And what would you like to talk about young Morris” came a crooked slivering voice, “Us, me” “Oh yes your favourite subject, what a selfish girl you are” a crooked grin befell Jonathans face at the comment, “I beg your pardon” spat Penny, “Do us both a favour sweet heart and shut your mouth” he squared up to her as they met eye to eye, “Or I’ll shut it for you.”
The counsellor let out a gasp at the comment before she bought her hand back to slap him again, only to have it caught in mid air, “Don’t try my patience counsellor, you have caused enough damage already, now get out” he ordered in a quiet but harsh voice, he released her arm before she straightened herself and marched off.
Jonathans eyes closed heavily again before he re-opened them slowly again and looked about the room, “Where did Penny go?” he questioned, “I told her to leave” answered the voice inside his head, “Oh no, what have you done now?” he shouted as he ran to catch up with the counsellor in the corridor, “Penny wait” he shouted as he place his hand on her shoulder, only for her to spin round and thump in the nose, he dropped backwards to the floor in shock, “You cant even shut you own mouth let alone mine” she cried before turning away and walking off down the corridor leaving Jonathan holding his nose as blood began to run from it down across his mouth, “You started all of this” he scowled at the bracelet “What? You wanted her leave, has she not left?” “Why, why start it at all, two years ago, why did you do it?” questioned Jonathan “The girl is dangerous, I did what I though was for the best, stay way from her” returned the voice, “No you are the one who is dangerous” spat Jonathan “Only for people whom I do not like, bare that in mind young Jonathan. I am beginning to share the same dislike towards you as I did for your brother.”

Strife woke up on her kness and her hands tied behind her back she looked up to see the Vulcan adding wood to the fire, she looked around at her surroundings they where ina cave, she started thinking what they where going to do to her, her thoughts where cut off by a silky smoth voice
"I know you, you have my DNA, you look like me" The trill said
"Of course you do you stupid cow" Strife spat "I'm you daughter abandoned at six years old, Morina Dhal"
Morina blinked and her head jerked back like she had been slapped "You ? ...but I left you for dead, ...I didn't need some nusience in my life, you where a pian, an annoyance, worthless I had no use for a child"
Strife fought back tears, those words stung yet she thought back to the human family that raised her with love and care "Worthless? ...look where I am at, I'm a starfleet officer"
"A pathetic one at that, getting yourself captured" Morina said
"Go to hell" Strife growled
Morina slapped her as hard as she could "Mouthy child aren't you, no respect for you mother, same with your father the idiot , he thought you where the best thing in the world before I tortured him and killed him, and the funny thing is your names is the last word he managed to choke out"
Rage filled Strife "You heartless B*TCH" She leaped up at her mother even though her hands where tied beind her back only to be knocked back by her own sword
Strife looked up at it in horror, it normally stayed as a rusted pice of junk but the Katana was now tranformed into a fang *h-h-h-how* Strife thought it could only transform if the users heart was pure, and her mother was anything but that and only three people had it to transform Stife , Gibsion and Chris Majeski , who wieled it in his drow form , his out of control Rage resulted in the deaths of many Dominion soliders and Federation Marines, with one swing he now carried a sword twice as powerful as her's and it kept him from transforming
"Oh you wonde about the sowrd don't you my dear little girl" Morina said "Simple the hand that holds it , was once your father before i grafted it as my own when he sliced it off with the same sword"
Strife wanted to throw up "Mother......you ...are.........sick, and when I get the chance, I'm going to avange father"
"Pathetic" Morina said and walked away
Strife thought of Maydell and Pasek with her mother carying that sword, all it would take is one swipe from a distance she needed to warn them or get it back but how?

Penny marched through the corridors, a picture of calm serenity. She passed by her office and continued on to her quarters. Quietly she walked through the door then watched it close behind her. As soon as the doors had met, she spun round and threw herself, full force at the punch-bag on the opposite side of the room, kicking it with her left foot. Both feet back on the ground again, she punched with her right, following up with her left. “Why was I so damn stupid?” she growled at herself, punctuating every sentence with another thump at the bag, “I bet he wanted me to do it. Now he’s probably going to file a complaint against me. I was just trying to make the peace, seeing as I have to work with the prat, then he goes and says that. But I shouldn’t have lost my temper like that. Why did I have to go and hit him?!” She chastised herself hitting the punch-bag again and again until her knuckles were bright red. Finally, when she had no breath left and her fists were aching, she slumped down on the floor. “I probably ought to go and apologise.” She continued, “I shouldn’t have done it, and he did seem to be bleeding rather a lot. I didn’t even hit him all that hard.” She sat for a moment then grinned, “And I commented on him talking to himself. Come on Penny, it’s time to go and wave that white flag of humiliating surrender.” She hauled herself back to her feet. A few minutes later she was standing in front of the sickbay doors, wondering if this was such a good idea after all. There was no turning back now though. The doors slid open to reveal once more the gleaming sterilised room. “Excuse me?” She asked the nearest nurse, “Do you know where doctor Nicholls is, please?” “Yeah, he came back in shortly after you left and he’s been in his office ever since. He had his hands over his face and was acting really weirdly, but we all just left him to it.” The man replied. “Thank you very much.” And with that she went to the office, took a steadying breath and went inside. “Is it urgent?” Jonathan asked with turning around. He was bent forward over his desk and his voice and gained a rather nasal quality to it. “I think it is, yes.” She replied as gently as she could manage. He spun around, backing into his desk ever so slightly, and glared at her. He seemed to have bled rather spectacularly and his nose looked slightly out of joint, so to speak. “Have you come to take another swing at me?” He muttered. “No, and I shouldn’t have taken the first one.” She answered, much to his surprise, though in her head she did add ‘Even though you deserved it.’ “Is this some kind of sick joke?” “For crying out loud I’m trying to apologise to you. Hmm, I did manage to do a rather good job of it, didn’t I?” She grinned, “Here, let me help patch you up.” Jonathan, completely confused now, backed even further into the desk his hands slightly outstretched as if in protection. “Oh don’t be so ridiculous, I’ve said I’m sorry and that’s the best you’re going to get.” She snapped slightly irritably, “We’ve got to work together, so we might at least be civil to each other. Now unless you want me to bring one of your nurses in here, let me take a look at that nose!” He shifted a little, lowering his hands as if to allow her closer, then suddenly he blinked hard and glared at her. “You just keep your distance, little lady.” He growled, his voice taking on a different tone. “Don’t you ‘little lady’ me, I’m older than you!” She said in surprise, “Now take this as a peace offering and hold still.” She continued, holding out a swab to clean his wound. He stood up a little too quickly, swayed for a second, then, regaining his balance, squared up to her, eyes blazing. “As I said before, missy, you’re not welcome here, so you might as well just leave.” Penny clenched her teeth, pushed back her emotions and replied in a level voice, “No, I’m not leaving until I’ve seen to that gash, and we’ve had a talk.” “What makes you think I want to talk to you?” He sneered. He suddenly snapped forwards making as if to grab her, but thankfully Penny’s instincts kicked in and she ducked down, then threw her weight into him, pushing him back into the chair. He closed his eyes, shaking his head as if to rid it of a bad dream, then opened them again and was more than a little surprised to find Penny onto of him. “What just happened?” He half whispered. “What’s going on?” Penny looked hard at him, as if trying to see into him. “I think I should be asking you the same question.”

The cave was very wide for a cave and the fire was in the middle of it. It was very bright but to weak to really light up the whole cave from wall to wall. No matter how well did the Vulcan tend to it, the cave was always somewhat dark. Strife was looking around, trying to find a way to warn her friends in case they came to save her, but she didn’t know that someone was watching her. Sitting on the ground, she suddenly heard a very faint sound. It wasn’t even a real sound, more like a gust of wind that came from a very strange direction. At first she thought it was nothing, but when it happened again she started looking around. She couldn’t see anything unusual, her mother was standing in front of her, facing her and with her back turned to the wall. The Vulcan was by her side, tending to the fire. Then she noticed that there was a patch of vines stretching by the cave exit. She looked at it but didn’t see anything or at least anything unusual. She turned her head and suddenly that gust came again. She turned again to the exit. This time she could swear that that patch of wines moved. She kept looking at it. Suddenly, next to it, like in the wall of the cave, appeared two glittering black dots. She looked a bit closer and realised that those were eyes. Someone was there camouflaged to look like the wall, like a chameleon. She gave those eyes one more look and then she recognised them. They were Mike’s. She was totally surprised by this since Mike didn’t strike her as a kind of guy that would be capable of something like this. Suddenly she noticed that her mother noticed she was looking at something. She was petrified. If she used that sword, it won’t be pretty. Just as her mother was about to turn to see what she was looking at Mike raised one of those plants and opened fire. The thorns flew, at least 4 or 5 of them, and hit her mother. Very fortunately, 3 of those thorns almost missed Strife’s mother and hit her hand. The one she was holding the sword with. In the next second things happened so quickly, that nobody actually realised what was happening. Strifes mother screamed in pain, and Mike jumped out of hiding. Strife jerked and managed to hit the Vulcan, who was leaning down to put a piece of wood in the fire, in his backside. He fell head first into the fire. The Bolian lifted his head when he heard that Strife’s mother screamed but Mike was then already there and threw her towards him. The Bolian didn’t think fast enough so the Trill hit him and they both fell on the floor. The next second Mike was on top of them holding one of those plants to each of their heads under the neck.
“Mike, you crazy idiot, I’m so happy to see you! What came over you, you could’ve been killed?!”
“I know. Sometimes, reason is not my beast quality.”
“Actually,”, said Strife looking at all the damage they did together, “I didn’t know you had it in you.”
“Yes, sometimes I even surprise my self.”, said Mike with a smile.
OCC: Oh yeah, Strife, I except that race invitation even though you have a considerable advantige. I always enjoy a good competition.

Jonathans eyes widened as he realised what was going on before he pushed the counsellor off him and scrabbled quickly across the floor to the back wall not once breaking eye contact, “I just want you to leave” he stuttered, “But why?” questioned Penny, “Just leave.” “I’m not going to hurt you I just want to know what’s wrong.” “Just must go before...before,” “Before what?” questioned the counsellor as she watched the doctor close his eyes for a few second before opening them again, his voice changed, “The boy wishes for you to leave little girl” he spoke coldly, “I told you before...” she broke off, “The boy?” she looked confused before catching a quick glance of gold beneath his right sleeve, “I know what that is” she whispered with horror before attempting to run for the door. Jonathan jumped to his feet elegantly as if he had floated and out stretched his hand sharply causing Penny to give out a yelp as a splitting pain shot through her head, she turned against her own will to face the grinning figure of the doctor, “And just how do you know that little girl?”
Time stood still as nothing but the sound of the doctors clock filled the air as Penny’s mind rushed with terror as she attempted to move only to find herself in a state of paralysis, “Well” demanded the doctor, “It was my aunt who told me about it, she noticed that Captain Hookway wore something like that during the battle of 803, his arm would twitch and spasm before he started to argue with himself” “Himself? Oh dear do none of your family possess even a basic intelligence? He was arguing with me.” “But that bracelet, it was ejected into space. Its to dangerous, its effects.” “Oh do elaborate” grinned the doctor, “You know full well what it does, it reads minds, manipulates and controls them.” “Very good doctor, perhaps you do possess a small amount of intelligence.” “So your not Jonathan” she snapped, “Who the hell are you?” “Who? Now that I cant answer, I have no identity, Captain Hookway saw to that”, he scowled “It would be more prudent to answer the question, what am I?” he declared before he snapped his fingers.
The surroundings around them changed suddenly so that they were situated within what appeared to be some sort of scientific laboratory, consoles were scattered about the room as well as complex charts and mathematical equations as well as diagrams of cell structures and DNA patterns. “Where are we?” questioned the confused Penny, Jonathan merely stared at her and tapped his head a few times “We are at the beginning, how my life began, if you would be so kind to wipe the condensation from the that tube please” spoke Jonathan as he motioned towards the great glass jar filled with an odd looking orange substance, Penny moved over to it and did as she was told before nearly jumping out of her skin at what was presented before her.
Concealed within the thick orange gunk was a young man around his early twenties he had the brightest green eyes and the most vibrant blonde hair she had ever seen, “That’s Jonathans brother, Hookway” Penny declared as she turned to the doctor, “No my dear girl that is me” spoke the doctor “A clone, designed to dispose off and replace the Captain before creating unrest within the federation and plunging it into a civil war, ironically named only as Echo.”
The counsellor was now dumbstruck as she looked about the room trying to find the words, “But all that happened in 2380, that was ten years ago, and more importantly you were killed over ten years ago too.” “Oh my original vessel was destroyed” he grinned as he snapped his fingers and the frozen image of himself and Hookway was presented before them, Echo was enormous, nearly twice the height of his brother, his skin was as black as coal, two horns protruded from his head and he carried two of the largest swords they had ever seen as he stared upwards waiting to strike Hookway who was falling towards him. Hookway was completely different in his appearance, he was still his normal height but wore pale brown trousers, an emerald green breast plate and helmet as well as having a shining mirrored shield strapped across his back, he was hung in mid air the blade of his sword pointing downwards about to find a new home in Echos skull, “Now to make full sense of this counsellor I’ll give you the pleasure of explaining what my bracelet is, it is an item of the race who bought Captain Hookway back to life, the Isleguards.”
“The now thriving and beautiful planet of Isleilia had not always been that way, it is said that at the beginning the Isleguards were a race of expendable, worthless slaves, no one cared for them and no one would help them.” began Echo as he paced about the cave they were in, “The root of their sorrows began when a man by the name of Tyris arrived on their beautiful planet and used his maniacal powers, thought not to be of their world, to enslave the race and carry out his dark deeds. All hope was lost among the Isleguards as the dark lords powers grew ever stronger and twilight engulfed their world.
But then as the end seemed nigh another man appeared, that of the same race of Tyris, from the south as he carried his light forth and confronted the dark lord. Using six magical items the hero of the Isleguards, Geleck, slew the dark lord atop of his tower and gave freedom to the race. His job completed he left their world along with the body of Tyris.
Freedom was not the only thing that Geleck left for the Isleguards, his six items also remained, items that would allow the six chosen individuals to lead Isleilia to prosperity. With the task completed the six items were scattered across the stars so that evil could not find and use them, it is the Isleguards greatest hope that they find there way back to their owner Geleck.” Echo stared at Penny, “This bracelet is one of these items, but that of the Dark Lord, me and my brother came across all 12 items which transformed us into the forms of Geleck and Tyris to re-fight that battle that happened all that time ago. You were correct in the fact that my brother did kill me but just before the sword that was plunged into my head turned my body to stone I sealed my soul within the bracelet and let it fall from my body, it later befell my brother and that’s how you aunt would eventually come to know of it.”
It took Penny several minutes to let the whole story sink in as she continued to stare at the form of Jonathan knowing full well that it wasn’t him inside there merely this ‘Echo’ “But like I said before, my aunt crushed the Captains arm in the airlock after you had taken him over and jettisoned the bracelet into space how did you manage to come back?” Penny finally questioned, “Naturally the bracelet is indestructible, and after floating through space for six years I finally landed on the planet known as Serlarus III, were I was found and eventually sold by a merchant there, who bought me? The young doctors mother, as a souvenir for him, and that’s what I am young Morris, and that’s how I got here, but you must be wondering why I hate you so much” he smiled as he clicked his fingers and the image of Golden Gate park emerged around them, “This is where our argument began, I know how it all happened but I’m interested in the way that you see it, please counsellor, lets watch it all over again then we can here your side of the story.”

Commodore Loskene was getting very worried. He finally had to say something.
Loskene: Let's hope that their ok. =^=Loskene to away team come in=^=
Pasek: =^=pzzzt...-Sek here. --et ---em
Loskene: Say again please
Pasek: One sec....Okay, we're out of the cave. Must have caused some interference.
Loskene: What's your status and please tell me your ready to come back.
Cavit: Sir, we've got things under control. We have some...prisoners, for lack of a better word.
Loskene: Alright, get back up here on the double. Mr. Gibson please make sure that these individuals are escorted to the brig, and I want them watched at all times. I know how clever their kind can be.
Gibson: No problem, Commodore.
Cavit: Away team ready to beam up.
The team and the captives materialized in transporter room 3, with a full security team waiting for them.
Gibson: Get them to the brig. How are you all?
Pasek: It was a close call, but I'd say our work down there is done.
Gibson: Good. Commodore, everyone is aboard.
Loskene: Good. Commander Cavit, please report to the bridge. I need some speed.
Cavit: Sir...if it's all the same to you, I'd like to go to the brig...Perhaps I can question them?
Loskene: ...Actually I was planning on conducting it.
Cavit: It's a bit complicated for me sir...One of those people down there... one is my mother...
Loskene: ...Alright Commander. But I need answers soon. I need to know what those escapees plan to do next and how to stop them.
Cavit: I'll get them to talk sir. Cavit out.
Loskene: Helm, Warp 9, engage!
