It had been a couple of hours since Luke had shared the true nature of their mission to the crew. He had received little response from them, they all seemed to be quite disturbed. Luke could understand that, he had lied to them in effect. He wondered if they could trust him again, they needed to get off this planet and until then they would have to work together... but after... he didn't know and did not like to think about it. He rose to his feet and approached the fire, J'Leera, Kirk and T'Brel were sitting round it, trying to keep warm as the night well and truly took hold. Thirteen and Rye had taken the first "patrol shift". Thirteen has suggested this as a precaution. At least two people would always be awake, however Luke seriously doubted that he would be getting any rest tonight. He stared around the circle. T'Brel and Kirk were deep in conversation. The ex-drone did not look at all good, he need regeneration and fast. By contrast Thirteen seemed to be holding up slightly better, but Luke supposed it was because the Tactical Officer had often found himself in situations where he couldn't regenerate. J'Leera, unlike the other two, sat in silence, staring at the flames. Her face was smudged with dirt and ash from the fire. She appeared deep in thought, Luke didn't want to disturb her and so he too sat and stared into the crackling fire. Luke had no idea where Meylor had got to. It was most unnerving... seeing as the Bajoran clearly wasn't on their side... yet...
"Commander!" Luke jumped, and fell backwards off the small log he was sitting on. He quickly scrambled to his feet and scanned the local area. He could see Thirteen running towards the ecampment at an extraordinary speed.
"Thirteen what is it?!" Luke asked as the officer ground to a halt.
"A Shuttle just touched down about a mile from here. A Security detail of at least 12 is searching the area."
Luke smiled, this was there chance. "Where is Commander Fitzpatrick?" Luke asked.
<TAG Thirteen>
"Well get him back, we're getting off this planet tonight.!" He paused. "Laika and Kirk you go with Thirteen and attempt to secure the Shuttle, take the phasers. Expect to find at least one, possibly two officers inside. The others will be out looking for us. Mr. Peers, you're with me, we need to get Rye. In which direction did they go Commander?" He asked, addressing Thirteen.
<TAG Thirteen>
"Very well, Laika, lead your team in the opposite way. Let Thirteen show you where the Shuttle is. If I don't make it back you're in Command."
<TAG J'Leera>
"Move out!" Luke ordered. J'Leera had raised a good point, he should lead the team to the Shuttle, it was safer and he was technically the CO here, but Luke had learnt from the best on how to ignore such things.
Luke turned round and saw Kirk standing still. "Is everything ok Mr. Kirk?" Luke asked.
<TAG Kirk>
"Good, I want you to keep and eye out for our good friend Meylor Paht, he appears to have gone walk about."
<TAG Kirk>
"Are you sure you are up to this, you can remain here and we can pick you up in a bit." He said with a smile.
"I don't think that will be necessary Sir." He said, walking off in the direction that J'Leera and Thirteen did.
"It's just you and me now Commander." He said to T'Brel. "We need to find Commander Fitzpatrick. Have you got one of the Tricorders we salvaged?"
<TAG T'Brel>
"Excellent. Lead the way then!" He said, grinning. This was much better. Now they were actually doing something, instead of moping around a fire.

T'Brel was very disturbed and angry with the news that Commander Dowding had just informed them with. T'Brel was not really angry at the lie, but the fact that his and the lives of his friends were put in jeopardy because of the illegal acts of the man sitting across from him. T'Brel didn't know and didn't care why Luke took the maps, but the fact the had forgotten about such a sensitive thing made him question if he was a competent commanding officer.
It seemed as everyone else had the same doubts as him. T'Brel didn't have to probe their minds, but their silence spoke volumes. Yet T'Brel felt as if J'Leera had been hurt by the news more than the others. She had served with Luke for the longer than everyone else.
"A Shuttle just touched down about a mile from here. A Security detail of at least 12 is searching the area."
The news of a shuttle quickly rose T'Brel's spirits. They would have to find a way to get off this planet and onto space. They would have more of a chance if they could control their environment.
"It's just you and me now Commander." He said to T'Brel. "We need to find Commander Fitzpatrick. Have you got one of the Tricorders we salvaged?"
"Yes sir, I have right here in hand," T'Brel said as he quickly took off into the woods. Commander Fitzpatrick has chosen the worst time to go out for a walk, but that was how life worked. It was never easy.
T'Brel then realized that he had piratically left Commander Dowding behind, his Vulcan traits made him better suited for physical activity.
"Commander, I'm reading the commander's bio sign 2 kilomiles away from our current location," T'Brel said as he once again began his search for Rye.

Luke turned round and saw Kirk standing still. "Is everything ok Mr. Kirk?" Luke asked.
"Yes sir." Kirk said sitting up straight.
"Good, I want you to keep and eye out for our good friend Meylor Paht, he appears to have gone walk about."
"I will make sure to keep an eye out for him." Kirk replied.
"Are you sure you are up to this, you can remain here and we can pick you up in a bit." He said with a smile.
"I don't think that will be necessary Sir." He said, walking off in the direction that J'Leera and Thirteen did.
Kirk chose to walk a behind J'Lerra and Thirteen, not because he felt uncomfortable around the other Borg drone but because it was a good sound tactical formation.
Looking at Commander Thirteen Kirk began to wonder what jobs he had done on a Borg ship, maybe engineering/repairs or maybe he was a more advanced attack drone,Kirk thought to himself.
As time went on and drone gained more time with the collective upgrades were made to older drones as new technology was assimilated. Kirk speculated that Thirteen had a few more reserve power nodes than he had.
Sounds could be heard in the distance, the sound of walking was the most predominate. It didn't sound like natives, hard steps could be heard smashing vegetation and pushing their way through the tall brush and tree branches.
"We may have company." Kirk said to the group in front of him.

Luke was out of breath.
T'Bel had set a "Vulcan-like" pace, and Luke was finding it hard to keep up. The past few days had seriously taken it out of him and he hadn't exactly been in the best shape before the "Great Starship Robbery". Luke felt that this was partly why T'Brel had set such an extreme pace, he had no desire to walk with the Commander, and Luke had to face it - why would he want to? In apparant response to Luke's thoughts (had he read the Commander's mind?) T'Brel slowed his pace and turned to face Luke.
"Commander, I'm reading the commander's bio sign 2 kilomiles away from our current location." T'Brel said.
Luke sighed and leant against a tall and strong looking tree. "Thank you Lieutenant." He paused and took a deep breath of cool night air. "That feels better." He said, more to himself than anyone else.
"The terrain gets a little more inhospitable a bit further along." T'Brel infromed the fatigued Commander.
"Great..." He muttered. "Lead the way Lieutenant."
The two walked in silence for a while longer, Luke wasn't quite sure what to say to the silent Officer. He appeared to be more Vulcan to Luke right now than ever before.
"Excellent flying back on the Exchequer." Luke said, in a vain attempt to start some sort of conversation to fill the empty void.

T’Brel didn’t want to admit it, but he was really ticked off at his commanding officer right now. He didn’t really want to speak to him at the moment, but he realized that it could be very unproductive to do so.
"Excellent flying back on the Exchequer," Luke said.
“Thank you, Commander I was just doing my job,” T’Brel responded coldly. T’Brel wanted to get off this planet as quickly as possible and the only way to do that was to find Commander Fitzpatrick and not spend time chatting away.
T’Brel immediately felt a sharp point of regret and pain; it wasn’t coming from him, but from Commander Dowding. T’Brel stopped walking and turned to face the commander.
“Look Commander, stop feeling bad for yourself,” T’Brel said a bit irritated,” you made a mistake that caused the lives of Starfleet officers, your mistake has probably put all of our freedom at risk. We thought and believed that we were following you for the correct reasons, but we were all mistaken. So as humans say it, suck it up and get back to work.”
<Tag Luke>
T’Brel turned back around, feeling a weight come off his chest and started running up the slope, deciding that Luke had enough time to rest.

The words stung Luke. The truth always hurt more than any lie, and this was no exception. On reflection Luke knew exactly why T'Brel's words hurt him so much. He saw so much of himself in the young helmsman. The same vigour, the same zest to prove something to anyone. The same passion for flying a Starship and the honour that he could wear that uniform. Luke looked down at his dirty, ripped and generally disgraceful garments. It reflected his career quite nicely now. Something once clean and fresh, now obviously soiled. He watched Peers begin to sprint up the hill and suddenly an urge to prove himself to the helmsman took over Luke's senses. He could think of nothing else other than showing that upstart just what Luke had sacrificed, just what he had gone through. This was no longer about self-pity.
It was about self-worth.
Something that Luke was beginning to realise he had little of. The more he thought about it, the more he began to understand that there was still a mission. A mission that he was still in Command of. They were to find the Tiger Shark, and those that had taken her. Luke would stare the man who wore his face in the eye and demand to know what was going on. This demand would allow Luke to show his crew just what they were fighting for. He couldn't place it, but he knew it was something big. With that final thought, a surge of adrenalin coursed through Luke's tired body. At that very moment he felt more alive than he had in months. He stared ahead and saw that T'Brel had made it to the top of the steep enbankment and was gazing down to where Luke stood. Luke began to sprint, to catch up with T'Brel. In what seemed like no time at all Luke had made it to the top of the hill and grabbed T'Brel's shoulder before he could continue.
"My mistake, may have cost the lives of Starfleet Officers. It may have caused the loss of your freedom." He began, eyes steely and set on the Lieutenant's face. "But that is not for you to pass judgement on. Whether you like me or not right now is not the issue, but I am still your Commanding Officer and you will show me the respect that that title deserves. If you cannot do this then I suggest you keep your mouth shut." Luke paused and took an intake of breath. "I look you T'Brel." He said. "And I know I have lost the trust of all of you today, but something is not right here. The Tiger Shark goes missing, Star Charts that have yet to be discovered by the Federation, an image of myself that is blatently me but not quite... Surely you can see something larger is at work here?"
He stared at T'Brel, looking for any sign of emotion in those Vulcan eyes. He stretched out his arm, offering his hand.
"I am sorry T'Brel. Please, let's solve this together. As a team, like we have done before and will do again." His voice was strained with emotion. His arm, still outstretched.
"What do you say?"

Thirteen eyed Luke as the commanding officer tried to explain their current situation as good as he could. Humans tend to make mistakes, Thirteen contemplated, disobeying direct orders is a rule often violated, yet usually leading to interesting situations. Memories of when he was still part of the Collective flashed through his system. The same routines, over and over again, no change of scenery. His past had made Thirteen prefer interesting situations, maybe also because they made him feel a bit more human than he was.
Thirteen looked at lieutenant Peers, and saw something blaze in his eyes. Thirteen found it difficult to place, but concluded that it was probably an emotion of anger. He found it hard to understand why Peers felt this way.
***
Silently beating his wings Turralin invisibly soared through the air, casting looks at the landscape below. He flew over the island he thought the abomination had landed on. ~Unnatural light in the form of fire detected,~ one of the Observers came through in ultra-sonic. ~What is your position?~ Turralin asked. The Observer gave his postion, and Turralin banked hard to the left.
***
Rye and Thirteen took the first patrol suggested by the latter. They cirkled thier encampment in silence. Thirteen had not quite mastered initiating conversations yet. All of a sudden Thirteen stopped dead, and Rye faced him questioning. Thirteen pointed in the sky, and Rye narrowed his eyes to focus. The two officers saw how a shuttle had initiated its landing sequence, and was touching down on the planet. Thirteen nodded at Rye, and turned to head back to the encampment. He turned around to see if Rye caught up, but all of a sudden Rye was gone.
Thirteen started a sprint back to their camp. He arrived and startled Luke, then explained what he and Rye had seen. “I lost commander Fitzpatrick, he walked behind me, yet was gone when I turned to see if he was still there, I heard nothing, as if he vanished into thin air.” Thirteen pointed where the security detail was searching the area. Luke formed parties and gave them their task.
***
Turralin and the Observers had assembled above the small encampment in the forest. ~What kind of beings are this?~ Turralin asked in disgust. The Observers eyed the Starfleet officers down below. ~I have never seen such creatures before,~ one of the Observes said. ~We need one for examination,~ Turralin said with the voice of a scientist.
One of the Observers pointed. ~Captain, I see two isolated beings.~ Turralin turned and looked down on them. ~Excellent.~ ~What’s that?!~ an Observer called. The others turned around to face the alien vessel that came down from the sky. Turralin’s eyes widened. ~We need a sample, now!~ The Observers flung themselves downwards, and grabbed the being that was running after the other.
***
Thirteen led J’Leera and Kirk towards the shuttle. He’d chosen to circle through the forest to avoid contact with the security party. Kirk pointed out the security detail when the came in sight. Thirteen motioned for commanders Laika and Peers to stay low as the went on through the forest.
Five minutes of crouching, getting hit by low branches, tripping and getting dirty passed before they saw the landing spot of the shuttle. They had managed to stay out of sight and out of the hands of the security officers that were now roaming the area. “Does either of you have an idea on how to obtain the shuttle?” Thirteen asked.
<Tag J’Leera / Jonathan>
***
The Observer that had gotten a hold of Rye clutched the heavy creature and asked for assistance. The other Observers and Turralin came to help. A long tongue shot from Turralin’s mouth, and wrapped around Rye’s neck. Thousands of tiny needles came from the tongue, inducing their paralysing poison. The creature went limp.

T'Brel was taking in everything that Luke had just said. It was no longer Commander Dowding in his mind that had evaporated as soon as he realized what he was feeling.
"Commander, Vulcan's don't like being touched, but I agree, its illogical to fight with each other and I also have to admit that these events raise a red flag," T'Brel said knowing that it was hard for him to refuse the outstretched hand. He had never thought of touching as offensive, but at that moment he just didn't want to feel the emotions of the human when they would of touched.
"Commander lets go, we are getting closer and I think that the others might be waiting for us now," T'Brel said as he jogged north and hopefully towards Commander Fitzpatrick.

Luke stared at the ground, a slight frown creasing his forehead.
"T'Brel, wait a moment!" Luke called after the hurrying Helmsman. "What do you make of these?" He asked, pointing to what he had been staring at moments before.
<TAG T'Brel>
"Something has most definately been here." Luke said, prodding the damage ground with his foot. "I haven't seen markings like this before however. Perhaps a native species of some sort?"
<TAG T'Brel>
They set off again, the mood gone from sullen-quietness to a rather timid and frightened outlook. Something about those markings had deeply unsettled Luke. T'Brel began to pick up the pace again, Luke followed suit and soon found himself yet again running. He began to tire quickly and soon was thinking of his bed back on the Tiger Shark...
THUD
Luke stared up from where he had tripped, his clothes and face were splattered with damp mud and something that glistened in the early moonlight.
"Commander? You alright?" He heard T'Brel ask. He sighed, he was never going to live this one down.
"I appear to have tripped over something." Luke replied, rolling onto his back and then pushing himself up from the ground, this time his hand splashed in the same sticky substance that was on his face. "Ew..." He muttered, lifting his hand to his face to smell what it was. His expression quickly changed from one of disgust to one of concern. "Peers, this smells like blood." He said, his voice shaking.
T'Brel came over and offered his hand to help Luke up, Luke gave the hand that was relatively clean and heaved himself off the ground. He immediately began to search the area for what he had tripped over, hoping... praying... The tricorder bleeped loudly, Rye was close. Luke brushed aside some ferns and gasped audibly. He crouched down to his knees immediately and stared at the deformed sight that met him.
It was Rye, although barely recognisable under the sores and wounds that covered his body. His skin had turned a pale grey, like that of a Borg Drone, and was covered with tiny little bumps of a green and red mix in colour. Each bump was oozing a yellow liquid that smelt disgusting.
"What happened to him?" T'Brel asked from behind Luke. He didn't reply, but instead checked for any sign of a pulse in Rye's neck. He pulled his hand away, and breathed a sigh of relief. There was a faint sign of a pulse, irratic, but there. Under normal circumstances they would have to leave Rye there, until help came for fear of internal injuries but this was hardly a normal circumstance. Luke was left with no choice, he picked up the fallen Officer, supporting his head with his hand, upon which Luke discovered that this was where the sticky substance had come from and it was in fact blood.
"Locate the Shuttle Mr. Peers, and lead the way. We can only hope that J'Leera and the team have it prepped and ready to go."

"I stand here today, not as your Executive Officer. But as your friend. As I stare around the room, looking into your eyes, I see the same pain, the same hurt, the same anger that I feel. I never thought the day would come when I took command of this fine vessel, and I am honoured to accept the Captaincy. Honoured that the crew I have served with for so long, worked with, toiled with. Will be here to help me, help US, through this difficult time. The loss of Admiral KezTrek, has hit us all hard, times for the Federation are looking negative. We have hit a rocky patch in the path that events seem to be taking us. I will not let you down. The death of our CO will not be forgotten. The billions of lives lost in the Vulcan sector will not be forgotten. The sacrifice that you are all making by remaining on the Tiger Shark, will not be forgotten. THE FEDERATION WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!"
Lex stared into the stars, his thoughts consumed with memorys of that long forgotten past. The ever-likely arrival of KezTrek had made him on edge. Someone that had been dead to him for years was now here again. He could feel her in his thoughts. She was looking for them. Looking for her Ship.
"Now is not the time though." He breathed. No one on the quiet Bridge heard him, they too eaten away at by their thoughts. "The Tiger Shark is needed for a little longer... just a little longer..."

“Does either of you have an idea on how to obtain the shuttle?” Thirteen asked.
"We are already in the buisness of stealing," Kirk said looking at the open landing area, "I don't think this shuttle will be too hard to hotwire."
The group quickly discussed a plan of attack. J'Leera and Thirteen would sit back and lay down a base of fire as Kirk would rush the shuttle. In the best case nobody would be in the shuttle and Kirk would be able to enter it with out a single shot being fired.
"Go." Thirteen said.
Kirk began to run as fast as he could through the remaining parts of the jungle. Once he hit the open area of the landing section Kirk noticed the shuttle was still powered up. With in a matter of seconds Kirk had reached the shuttle with out any shots being fired. With his heart racing and heavy breathing Kirk peered around the corner of the shuttle and spotted two guards pacing back and forth.
Kirk looked back toward Thirteen and J'Leera and began to give hand signals as to the location of the two guards and the weapons they were using. Kirk hoped Thirteen got the idea and was able to mount a flanking maneuver soon. It was only a matter of time before the two guards came his way.

T'Brel took his tricorder and examined the area that both of them were currently looking at and T'Brel was alarmed to what the reading said.
"Commander I think it would be a good idea to get out of here quickly," T'Brel said," these reading say that the marks were made by a large predator."
This news unsettled both of them and so T'Brel once again began the search, but this time a lot quicker and with much more haste. The only reason he stopped was because he had heard something.
THUD
Luke stared up from where he had tripped, his clothes and face were splattered with damp mud and something that glistened in the early moonlight.

Seeing Rye in that way had shocked Luke. What could possibly of done that to him? Luke allowed T'Brel to carry Rye for a while, his back was sore and he was pretty sure he had sprained his ankle when he had fallen, causing a certain amount of discomfort every time he put down his foot.
He frowned as the ground they were walking along began to slope down, as they walked on a bit further Luke found himself staring down a steep hill, that was riveted with small holes and scattered with stones and rocks. There was no way either T'Brel or Luke were getting down there, especially with Rye in his present condition.
"Commander is there any safer route to take?" T'Brel asked, passing the Tricorder to Luke. Within seconds he had found a safer, although slightly longer route.
"This way." Luke said motioning with his right arm. The two walked in silence, it was an odd situation, one that Luke hoped never to find himself in again. He couldn't help but think of the holographic image, who was that man who wore his face? What did all this mean? This is what motivated Luke, the knowledge that if he got to the Tiger Shark, he would at last get answers.
"Get down!" T'Brel yelled. Luke had been paying no attention to his surroundings and it was only when T'Brel called that he saw and heard the phaser fire.
"That's the others at the Shuttle." Luke said through a mouthful of bitter tasting grass as he lay on his front. "You stay here with Rye, I'll call for you when the area is clear, do not make yourself a target..." Luke paused. "That's and order Lieutenant, if you are still taking them from me that is."
Luke didn't wait for a response but instead jumped to his feet, unholstering the small hand-held phaser as he did so. He could clearly see the Shuttle now, and what looked like Kirk from inside it. He continued to run, carefully taking aim, making sure the weapon was set to stun... He squeezed one shot out, one of the oponents fell silently, no cry from his lips. The other alerted by the fall of his comrade turned his attention to Luke, who immediately launched himself by a stump of a tree, it would provide little cover, but would do why he caught his breath. Two more shots were fired and then all was quiet.
"Commander." Luke heard Thirteen call. He rose to his feet and saw Kirk, Thirteen, J'Leera and Meylor walking towards him.
"Good job people, now let's get out of here before the others come." He paused. "T'Brel!" He yelled. "All clear!" Minutes later and Peers appeared with Rye still on his back, Mr. Thirteen go give Mr. Peers a hand, Kirk and Laika get me access to this Shuttle.
Luke walked over to Meylor. "Is this where we part ways?" He asked.
<TAG Meylor>
"If you think to betray us..." Luke started but Meylor interupted.
"Betraying you would not help me off this rock now would it?"
Luke ignored the comment and walked over to the Shuttle.
"We're ready to go Dowding." Kirk said, Luke picked up on the obvious lack of rank mentioned and no first name either. Things were going to take a while to get back to normal, if they ever did. He sat down at the helm but felt T'Brel's stare from behind him. He got up again and waved at the console.
"It's all yours Lieutenant." He said.

"T'Brel!" He yelled. "All clear!"
T'Brel hated being up in the hill side while his crewmates were fighting, but he had to keep Rye safe and that was what he was going to do. When he heard the all clear, he quietly and quickly got down the hill. Rye would need medical attention as quickly as possible.
Once he got down to the clearing T'Brel was more than pleased to see that everyone else was doing alright and that none of them had gotten hurt. T'Brel was still a bit worried about Kirk and Thirteen, but they shortly would be able to regain their strength.
"I'm glad that all of you are safe and sound," T'Brel said as he walked passed them and laid Rye down on the shuttle. He didn't know what had happened to the Commander, but they wouldn't let more pain or suffering come to him.
"We're ready to go Dowding." Kirk said.
T'Brel picked up the anger that was coming from Kirk, but he said nothing. It was the same feeling that everyone was currently feeling towards their first officer. T'Brel noticed that Luke made himself comfortable at his station and he was not to happy about that and he made sure that Luke could feel his displeasure.
"It's all yours Lieutenant." He said.
"Yes I know sir," T'Brel said sarcastically and took his station. He immediately took the shuttle off the planet and headed towards open space. He was sure that everyone wanted to get off this dreaded planet.
"Kirk, how many ships are still out there?" T'Brel asked.
<Tag Kirk>
"Okay so what do we do know?" T'Brel asked of everyone on the ship.

Luke sat in the back of the craft, watching T'Brel expertly maneuver the small vessel through the planet's atmosphere. Luke felt his chest loosen slightly as they broke free of that rock, like he could finally breathe properly again. The others in the Shuttle appeared to feel the same and the mood lightened ever so slightly although Luke could tell they were still in no condition to trust him, or even like him at this time.
"Tough." He muttered to himself...
"Okay so what do we do know?" T'Brel asked of everyone on the ship.
Luke rose to his feet. "We find the Tiger Shark of course." He replied.

Luke looked at his friends faces. He knew he had hurt them, but they had to trust him just one more time.

"We find the Tiger Shark of course," Luke said.
J'Leera looked up from her console, her face unreadable. Her eyes could not hide what she was feeling though and they showed disapointment and hurt. The news hit her hard since she trusted Luke and considered him to be an honorable person, but now that person lied and they would all soon pay the price for that trust.
She turned away from Luke and lowered her eyes, so he could not see, although she didn't really care.
"I know what I've done has shaken the foundation of the relationships we have, but I need you to understand that we have to do this. Someone is waiting for us on the Tiger Shark, I know it."
She nodded knowing that she'd do her job and help dig themselves out of the hole that they had made, but Luke was her friend and she stood by her friends no matter what, no matter if they screwed up, because she knew that one day, she might need a friend like that.
"If you don't want to do this I understand but I have to. And if at the end of it, you no longer want me on the Tiger Shark, I give you my word I will resign my commission."
Her head snapped back up about to say something, but she stopped herself. There was no telling how Starfleet Command was going to take this. There will be consequences for this, she realized. Someone is going to have to pay. I hope it's not you, Luke...

"Kirk, how many ships are still out there?" T'Brel asked.
Kirk took a look at the sensor read outs that were in front of him. Shaking his head in disgust he replied, "I can't tell. The sensors on this shuttle seem to be either out of alignment or there is something causing a disturbance in the read outs. Basically until we can break the atmosphere your flying blind."
"Okay so what do we do know?" T'Brel asked of everyone on the ship.
Luke rose to his feet. "We find the Tiger Shark of course." He replied.
Kirk could tell the majority of the other officers didn't like the idea, but it was the only way they would be able to prove their innocence. If they eventually turned themselves in at the nearest starbase this entire mission would have been for nothing.
The shuttle remained silent until Commander Dowding spoke up again, "I know what I've done has shaken the foundation of the relationships we have, but I need you to understand that we have to do this. Someone is waiting for us on the Tiger Shark, I know it."
Nobody answered Dowding so he pressed on, "If you don't want to do this I understand but I have to. And if at the end of it, you no longer want me on the Tiger Shark, I give you my word I will resign my commission."
"Sir, the sake of all of our commissions are on the line at this point. We need to find the Tiger Shark to clear our names. I am going to follow you through this until the end, anybody else coming with us? T'Brel?" Kirk said.

Luke rose to his feet. "We find the Tiger Shark of course." He replied. Thats was his plan, that was his genius plan, T'Brel thought as he piloted the ship out of the planet. Kirk had reported that the senors were practically useless, but his superior vision let him see two ships. They of course already had seen the shuttle, but they made no move to intercept. It seemed that Admiral KezTrek was keeping them in line. "I know what I've done has shaken the foundation of the relationships we have, but I need you to understand that we have to do this. Someone is waiting for us on the Tiger Shark, I know it." T'Brel wanted to respond to his hunch, but he kept quiet. It wasn't his duty or responsibility to question people's hunches, so he kept quiet. "If you don't want to do this I understand but I have to. And if at the end of it, you no longer want me on the Tiger Shark, I give you my word I will resign my commission." "Sir, the sake of all of our commissions are on the line at this point. We need to find the Tiger Shark to clear our names. I am going to follow you through this until the end, anybody else coming with us? T'Brel?" Kirk said Every eye on the shuttle suddenly turned to T'Brel. He could feel their eyes, but so much more. Their minds were open and it was invading his mind. He could feel the sympathy and love of a friend, the need to clear their names, and the last but most powerful of them was regret and sorrow. It was coming from Luke. His face, body language, and even his eyes gave the appearance of a strong man, but inside he was hurting. It was a hurt that he had never felt before, it was something that almost threatened to overwhelm him. "Commander, I do not agree with how you did this, it was illogical and dangerous," T'Brel started," but I will follow you to the end." "Okay good lets get to work," Luke said feeling a lot better. "I'm not done Commander," T'Brel said stopping everyone mid thought," you have to promise to keep you word, if we don't want you on the Tiger Shark when this is over, you will resign." <Tag all> OOC: I of course don't want Luke to resign or do I

"I'm not done Commander," T'Brel said stopping everyone mid thought," you have to promise to keep you word, if we don't want you on the Tiger Shark when this is over, you will resign."
Luke nodded. "You have my word T'Brel, Starfleet will have my resignation if that's what you and the crew want." Luke paused and surveyed the Officers that filled the cramped craft. "Now with that settled," He started, removing his uniform jacket in the process "we need to get out of this system. J'Leera, can you search for this frequency, it will lead us to the Tiger Shark."
<TAG J'Leera>
"What is the frequency?" Thirteen asked curiously.
Luke smiled. "KezTrek gave me a gift when I was due to leave for the Victory." He paused, thinking back to the party in the Holodeck. That was a good time, a sad occassion but definately a good time. "She gave me a model of the Tiger Shark, with a built in tracking-device. I had totally forgotten about it until we were just talking of my resignation, something about leaving the Tiger Shark sparked a memory..." He trailed off, emotion choking his voice.
No matter what the crew wants Luke thought. This will be my last mission with them...
"I have found the tracking-device operating on the frequency you gave me Luke." J'Leera said, Luke made his way to the Sensors and looked down.
"That's her." He said. "What's that?" He asked pointing at three other signatures.
"I believe that is the Sekhmet, the vessel RA KezTrek is on." J'Leera replied. "And those two have Klingon signatures I believe..."
"Klingons?..." Luke said questionningly. He turned to T'Brel. "Set a course, maximum warp."
"Sir..." Thirteen started.
"Yes I am aware of the Tactical situation Mr. Thirteen. We can only hope that KezTrek or whoever is on the Tiger Shark has our back..." Luke replied.
"There's another one of those genius plans..." T'Brel muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear however.
Luke slammed his fist on the side of the Shuttle, everyone looked at him shocked. His face was scarlet, his body visibly shaking. His eyes focussed on T'Brel.
"You don't like it Lieutenant, then you can jump out the hatch for all I care." He said, his voice scarily calm in contrast with the rest of his appearance. "We move to intercept... Now."

J'Leera looked at the frequency. It didn't seem usual, so she was a little puzzled. In fact, it didn't appear to be a starship frequency at all. When Thirteen inquired about the unusual frequency, she looked up and listened to Luke's explanation.
His words made her feel worse. She saw that he truly did not expect to be in Starfleet anymore and how saddened he was.
"I have found the tracking-device operating on the frequency you gave me Luke."
"That's her." He said.
J'Leera breathed a sigh of relief.
"What's that?" he suddenly asked looking at the two extra blips on the screen.
"I believe that is the Sekhmet, the vessel RA KezTrek is on." J'Leera replied. "And those two have Klingon signatures I believe..."
"Klingons?..." she said to herself just as Luke said it aloud. What were they doing there? By this point the others were starting to become exasperated. J'Leera had not reached that point yet herself, but she knew Luke better than they did and believed that he knew what was going on.
She started at Luke's outburst though and she turned around and gaped at his appearance. "Luke...please, it'll be fine...We'll work this out somehow..."

OOC: Just trying to get me into trouble aren't you Luke, by the way how did this all start Luke? "You don't like it Lieutenant, then you can jump out the hatch for all I care." He said, his voice scarily calm in contrast with the rest of his appearance. "We move to intercept... Now." T'Brel stopped piloting the ship for the briefest moment feeling the outburst coming and preparing a mental shield to stop all the negativity from affecting his neural pathways. T'Brel heard J'leera's words to Luke and just turned around looking Luke straight in the eyes. "Commander Dowding, as long as I am doing my job and not hurting you or any other person here physically I can think anything I please, its my right as a Federation citizen," T'Brel said with no emotion at all," it's my right as a Starfleet officer to disagree with my superior officer and voice those opinions. You may not like them, but all of us skeptical of your current decision." It seemed that T'Brel decision to use his Vulcan side and show no emotion at all angered Luke even more, but J'Leera kept him from attacking, but T'Brel knew that what angered him more was the fact T'Brel had told him what everyone was thinking. T'Brel hadn't said most of us, or some of us, he had had said all of us. "Okay look this is not helping anyone out right now," Kirk said finally speaking up. "We are heading for that ship, it has been decided." ~Are you sure, Kirk, I will go but only if everyone is willing to risk their lives?~ <Tag Kirk> T'Brel asked everyone else the same question and they were in. They were all in, but some of them had hesitated. "Okay, were heading towards that ship," T'Brel said still not sure that it was the Sekhmet.

Luke sat slumped in a chair at the back of the Shuttle. They had been crusing at low Warp for 25minutes now, the Shuttle was not designed for speeds and it was clear to Luke that it needed a complete overhaul... or retirement.
J'Leera had sat with him in silence for a while until returning to the Sensors. She had seen a side of him that had frightened her, he knew that. He would be apologising for a lot when this was all done. Thirteen and Kirk were using the little energy spare to regenerate the best they could, the crash had taken it out of everybody but the need to regenerate was a pressing issue for his ex-Borg Officers. Meylor Paht sat close by to Luke, a frown on his face. Luke could tell that he was less than pleased than being stuck in this Shuttle with this apparantly crazed Executive Officer. Luke guessed that if he was in his position he would feel the same. He consciously made a note to keep an eye on the Bajoran however, no matter how annoyed he may be, Luke knew he would use every oppurtunity to turn the Tiger Shark crew in. Rye lay still at the very back of the Shuttle, there was no bio-bed or even table for the weakened Commander to tie upon. So they were forced to leave him on the floor, Luke had treated the wounds the best he could but he was no Doctor and had never seen anything quite like that before. T'Brel remained at the Helm, Luke could only see the back of his head, and the occassional move of an arm, indicating a slight course or speed change. Luke continued to stare at the Lieutenant for a while, aware that the Helmsman probably knew what he was doing. Luke wasn't concerned, he was trying to make out just what the half Vulcan, half Trill was thinking. He of course had no success, although he was sure he could make an educated guess.
"We are approaching the source of the frequency." T'Brel said plainly.
Luke rose to his feet and pushed back his hair, staring out of the window.
"We are entering visual range... Now." T'Brel added. Sure enough Luke could make out at least two vessels.
"Whose out there?" He asked excitedly. He knew one was the Tiger Shark, but who else would he be meeting?
"It is the Sekhmet." J'Leera replied.
Luke swore. "What is the status of both vessels?" He asked.
<TAG J'Leera>
"Mr. Peers bring us out of Warp, and full stop. If they want to bring us in, they can come to us."
<TAG T'Brel>
Luke sat down in the spare seat next to T'Brel, effectively manning the Comms. As he did this a small red light flashed.
"Incomming transmission from the Sekhmet." He said, to no one in particular. He stared at the console frowning, should he open a channel?
"Luke, the Sekhmet is breaking away from the Tiger Shark and is approaching fast. They are continuing to hail." J'Leera said.
Luke turned to Thirteen and Kirk who had now disconnected themselves from the makeshift regeneration nodes.
"I need you two to get onboard the Tiger Shark, I dont care how you do it but seeing as you serve as Ops and Tactical I am confident you know so back doors. When you get there head to the Auxilary Command Room and enter the code 52981, that will send the ship into lockdown. Contact me on channel 4.9 when you've accomplished this."
"How will you get to the Tiger Shark?" Kirk asked.
"You will take the Shuttle, the rest of us will be handing ourselves in. For all intensive purposes you two will be casualties, you're bodies are still on the planet."
<TAG Kirk/ Thirteen>
"J'Leera open a channel to the Sekhmet."
"How will the Shuttle not be brought in?" Thirteen asked.
"I'll inform them of Rye's condition, tell them it's not safe for them to bring the Shuttle onboard, but we should be beamed into a quaritined zone."
"But their Sensors, they'll see us move." Kirk said.
"Not with a little trick that J'Leera once showed me, she knows what to do." He said, staring at his friend, a familiar glint back in his eyes.
<TAG J'Leera>
Luke smiled, not a happy smile, but one of satisfaction. Things were finally moving along.
"Channel open." J'Leera said.
Luke pushed back his hair again, and stared at the viewer. Sure enough, within seconds of J'Leera speaking the image of a familiar face appeared on the screen.
"What the hell do you think you're playing at Commander?!" KezTrek exclaimed.
Luke explained their current situation, making sure the whole time that KezTrek could only see him, he then informed her of Rye's condition.
"Very well, I will beam you and the others over. Stand by to lower your sheilds." She said, before the screen flickered off.
Luke turned to Kirk. "It's time to use a little bit of that Borg tech you have Mr. Kirk." He said.
Kirk nodded and immediately a green sheild appeared over himself and Thirteen. Luke could see the strain it was putting on him, and so immediately gave the signal for J'Leera to lower the sheilds. Hopefully, Thirteen and Kirk should be masked from the Sekhmet's sensors. As soon as J'Leera nodded to inform Luke the sheilds had been lowered he felt the familiar tug and heard the whine of the transporters. Seconds later he appeared in a small room, with a glowing forcefield. Opposite him in similar cells were J'Leera, T'Brel and Paht. Luke could see no sign of Thirteen or Kirk and he assumed Rye had been beamed to Sickbay.
"So far so good..." He muttered.

~Are you sure, Kirk, I will go but only if everyone is willing to risk their lives?~
The sound of another person's voice in Kirk's head made his heart skip a beat. He hadn't heard another voice in his head in nearly months, but Kirk soon realized how it was and replied quickly trying not to come off surprised.
~We are Starfleet officers, and besides that we still have to prove our innocence.~
There wasn't much for Kirk to do. He had tried his best to realign the sensors but they were too far shot for anything beyond a few light years. This forced T'Brel to have to continue to make manual course adjustments as the ship tore through space.
As with most of the officers aboard the shuttle Kirk had taken a few medical courses at the Academy and slowly made his way to Commander Rye who was completely incapacitated. Kirk found one of the few tricorders on board the shuttle and quickly scanned the engineer. The results were not promising and Kirk felt the energy drain from him when he know for certain there wasn't anything he could do for the man. Putting the tricorder down Kirk sat back down next to Commander Thirteen.
Feeling weak Kirk found a spot to attach the assimilation tendrils and draw power from the small shuttle craft. Knowing full well the shuttle couldn't handle the draw from a complete regeneration Kirk drew very small amounts of energy. The incoming energy was like a warm bath for Kirk as he slowly began to feel himself fall asleep, but he fought hard to keep himself awake. His cremates had to keep going and he felt he should too. They don't have to rely on ships power to keep their bodies going, Kirk thought for a second but quickly let the thought go.
It wasn't long before the shuttle finally arrived at its destination. Luke hailed Admiral Keztrek while J'Leera prepared the sensor cover for Kirk and Thirteen. As the shields were lowered Kirk was able to force an personal shield around himself and Thirteen. J'Leera must have know Borg frequencies because Kirk could feel the sensor mask matching the frequency of the shield he was producing. With in seconds Kirk and Thirteen were alone on the shuttlecraft.
"Now what?"

T'Brel was troubled that his friend Lt. Commander Jonathan Kirk was putting himself in such danger, but he knew that if what Luke was saying was true, they would be the only ones that could find the answer.
"Commander Luke Dowding, Commander 1st Class J'Leera Laika, Lt. T'Brel Peers you are all under arrest for the unlawful act of stealing a Federation ship, disobeying a commanding officer, conduct unbecoming of an officer, and for the murder of over four hundred Starfleet personal."
The words that had just been said stung like a bee, T'Brel knew that technically these charges were correct, but there had to be more this than met the eye.
"You have the right to remain silent, as according to the Federation charter, but you can to make it easier on yourself by...." the Commander said before he was cut off by the swooshing of the doors.
T'Brel immediately knew who it was, his mind had felt her worry, anger, frustration, understanding, and love. Rear Admiral KezTrek had just entered the brig.
"Attention!" the security officer said as he noticed the Admiral enter. T'Brel immediately stood from his bunk and waited for his commanding officer to speak.
Yet she said nothing, she just looked at everyone. She first started with her first officer and closest friend. Her stare lingered for a minute until it passed to J'Leera and then T'Brel. He noticed that she wasn't surprised not to see Kirk or Thirteen there with them, which for some unexplainable reason brought a smile to T'Brel's face.
"Everyone except my senior staff is going to leave this room immediately," KezTrek said calmly.
"Admiral its against...." the commander said trying to protest.
"Commander if you don't leave immediately I will throw you in the brig for insubordination," Keztrek said a shadow of anger showing.
"Understood," the commander responded as he quickly left.
"Well guys tell me what happened?" KezTrek said smiling.

Luke was the first to answer. "Admiral, they have nothing to do with this, let them go and I'll explain everything."
KezTrek gave him a cold stare, but he returned it with equal blankness.
"KezTrek to Kurn. Assign quarters to my officers. You're all confined there until further notice," KezTrek told them, her voice calm, but stiff, she no longer found this amusing.
"Admiral..."
"Dismissed!" KezTrek snapped when T'Brel tried to speak. No one else said anything as they filed out, leaving Luke and KezTrek alone.
"Of all the stupid, idiotic, senseless, obtuse... I'm running out of adjectives here... I expect crazy stunts like this from me, but not from you. Why?" KezTrek asked.
