All hands stopped what they were doing as Elron burst out of the ready room. Met by the forcefield, he concentrated hard and pushed through ! Within seconds, one security officer was down and the other stood helpless. Before anyone else could reach him, Elron got in to a Jeffries tube and the hatch slammed behind him.
T`Caph : =/\= Commander Gauthier, the Admiral has escaped and is in the Jeffries tube systems. Request we go to security alert. I will order evacuation of all engineering personnel currently working in the tubes so I can then erect multiple forcefields throughout the system to slow him down. He seemed to require much concentration to break through the one at his ready room, so delaying him is as much as is possible currently. You must change all command codes immediately if you have not done so already, to prevent him over-riding security protocols. And Commander - he seemed able to " hypnotise " one of the security guards - I suggest the Admiral not be appoached by any individual =/\=
Gauthier : =/\= Acknowledged. Command codes have already been changed. I will instruct the computer to acknowledge your requirements. Out =/\=
T`Caph knew he and security would do what they had to so she concentrated purely on her immediate task.
T`Caph : =/\= All personnel, evacuate Jeffries tubes immediately. This is not a drill. You have 20 seconds to evacuate your position within all Jeffries tubes =/\=
Next she stated :: Computer, in 20 seconds from my mark, lock down all Jeffries tube hatches, and erect force ten forcefields every 10 feet within the tubes and at every tube hatch. Mark ::
The computer acknowledged the order and began a count down.
T`Caph hoped that security personel would be on their way to each hatch in case Elron tried to get out before the measures were activated, though logically - if he were capable of logic in his present state - he would try to stay within the network for the time being, trusting in his ability to get through the forcefields anyway. Security would be able to track his progress using his bio sighns, so that was in their favour in terms of keeping him contained to a degree. After what seemed an eternity, the computer announced that the measures were now in place.
T`Caph : =/\= Commander Gauthier, scans confirm he is still in the tube network. He is making progress through the forcefields but is slowing each time he has to get through one =/\=
Gauthier : =/\= Understood =/\=
Storey : =/\= Lieutenant T`Caph, please join us in sickbay immediately. I have found something which you..... *crackle* .....use..... *crackle *
Security officer : The Admiral has stopped moving..... :: a few seconds later :: Now he is on the move again.....
T`Caph accessed the comm system on her console - not functional. Elron must have accessed a panel in the Jeffries tubes and disabled the comm system.
T`Caph :: walking to the turbolift :: Ensign Trabor, with me.
The Ensign jumped from his seat and joined her.
As they entered the lift she stated :: Get to Engineering immediately. Tell them to reroute the comm system at junction 17. When they have done that, I want all other comms relay systems, and other essential systems within the tubes, loaded with an electrical charge, strong enough to stun but not injure. I will proceed to sickbay.
Her logic was telling her that if Elron could get through a forcefield, a small charge would not harm him but might persuade him to desist in tampering with comms again, or any other vital systems - he would need all his energy with so many forcefields to break through...
Trabor : Aye Lieutenant, my feet wont touch the ground !
T`Caph : Unless you have the power of flight, Ensign, I suggest you run
Before he could respond further, the door opened and T`Caph stepped out to make her way to sickbay. She as most intrigued to know what the Doctor had been trying to tell her....

The security alert sounded "bloody hell, hes escaped" John said in his very british accent, he tapped his com abder "Lieutenant T`Caph, please join us in sickbay immediately. I have found something which you could use" =/\=Understood=/\= Whilst John was waiting for T'Caoh to arrive, he went to the console and tapped a view buttons, Docotr Buster popped, "Doctor Buster, i require all the medical files relating to this infection transferred here immediatly" "yes sure, they are transmitting now" "Thank you, i will contact you in a few hours, Storey out" The files were finished and john tapped them up on the screen 2Interesting, Very Interesting" T'Caph walked in, and he turned around to her and said "We need him alive T'Caph!" "Huh?!" "We need to get Elron, in here alive, i need a blood sample and then i can see if theres any similarlarity between him and Sonak" "He is currently in the efferies tube, he is slowed down by the forcefeilds, i will instruct the secruity personnel to get him down here as soon as possible" "Good, i want him here very soon"

T`Caph looked over the information the CMO had provided. It appeared she needed to modify the forcefields to a specific DNA sequence to prevent Elron from being able to get through.
Thinking of the possibilities, she finally said :: Doctor, I have a plan which requires your participation.
Storey : Oh ? What do you have in mind exactly ?
T`Caph : Virtual reality Doctor
The CMO looked at a loss, not knowing where she was headed with this idea.
T`Caph : I need a visual impairement tool. I intend to modify it to your brain pattern so that you can approach the Admiral without actually being near him.
Storey : Well, we have a few for emergency treatment prior to corrective surgery but I still dont quite understand....
T`Caph : You will.
She went to a console and searched for the infomation which would explain all to the Doctor. It was a technology she had read of involving the CEO on the Enterprise, using his visor to utilise a programme enabling him to deal with a dangerous situation without having to be present. It was not something she would normally have considered but this illness which had Elron in its grip was far from usual....
Engineering : =/\= Lieutenant, comms are back online and funtioning. The instructions you gave regarding the electronic shocks are also enabled throughout the Jeffries tubes for all key systems =/\=
T`Caph : =/\= Acknowledged. I need Ensign Sarwan to come to sickbay. I am transmitting what she must do to her console now. T`Caph out =/\=
She tapped the details into the console she was using. The Ensign was ideal to carry out this task of creating a suit like that used by Geordi, but modified for the CMO. That sent, she got to work on the visual equipment then gave it to the Doc to input the medical data pertaining to himself.
Next task was the forcefields. T`Caph looked through the Jeffries tubes schematics and plotted the route to the last exit just outside sickbay, then asked for a security detail to be there ready and waiting.
< tag Security >
Fifteen minutes later the forcefields were modified. All except on a specific route were now programmed to repulse Elron, as they could now detect the virus and prevent him passing through the level 10 forcefields. Those left unenhanced meant he would be like a rat in a maze, as he found the route he could take. Each time he passed through one on the route T`Caph had plotted, it would then modify to prevent him backtracking should he realise what was going on.
T`Caph : Doctor, are you ready to proceed ? We must test the system as soon as Ensign Sarwan arrives with the suit
Storey : Well, I have input the necessary information. The EMH and a nurse will monitor me but I can`t say I`m looking forward to this one bit !
They turned to look at the door as it swished open and in ran a red faced Ensign Sarwan with a security guard carrying the suit for the Doc.
Sarwan : I...er....its done Lieutenant
T`Caph : Good work. Assist the Doctor and show him what to do
She then turned to the security officer who had accompanied Sarwan and gave him the loaded hypo prepared by the doctor, which needed placing in the appropriate Jeffries tube junction ready for use. According to the bio readings, Elron was slowly making his way there so she ensured the forcefield at the junction was set to prevent him getting through to it until the security officer was safely in and out again.
Suddenly, everyone stood silent as they heard maniacal laughter throughout the ship.
Elron :: screeching repeatedly :: "They can't relieve me! I'm the Fleet Commander! I'm a Vice Admiral!"
Gauthier ordered the computer to cut the sound from Elrons comm badge - the last thing the crew needed was to hear their CO like that.
< tag Gauthier >
Storey : Well I`m as ready with this contraption as I`m going to be. Lets get this show on the road
T`Caph : Doctor ?
Storey :: muttering :: Vulcans..... Ready to proceed Lieutenant
T`Caph : Very well. =/\= Is the hypospray in place ? =/\=
Security : =/\= It is Lieutenant. We are clear here, and in position =/\=
T`Caph : Ensign Sarwan, you will monitor the program and be ready to make any adjustments. I will deal with switching over the forcefields as the Admiral passes through them to the target area.
So now, it was a waiting game.....
< tag everyone, over to you guys ;D >

*OFF* I know I am. It is an interesting story, but it is making it difficult for me to figure a way to join. As far as my character's involvement at current, for anyone wanting to use me, is for me to be at Starbase Bellicose or on Earth. I have an entry in mind, but the actual storyline hasnt gotten to where I want it yet.
Keep up the great work on the current story, but lets also work on the Romulan/Borg one also.

The Doctor stood slightly nervously. It felt odd in the suit with wires all over the place, and with the modified visual aid he really did feel like he was in the Jeffries tubes, alone, awaiting the appearance of a very angry Admiral Elron. Eventually, the Vulcan spoke, to tell him Elron would be through the last forcefield and rounding the junction momentarily. Sure enough :: Growling and hissing as he spoke :: "I am an Admiral, you will not defeat me. You will join the brethren....." Elron concentrated and fixed his hypnotic stare on Storey, who was sweating profusely. John, he can not harm you. Concentrate on my voice. You are in sickbay, the Admiral can have no effect on you. Holi spoke up. Storey said coming to his senses "But its so real ! I could swear I felt his breath on my face ! " Sarwan said, and John noticed he had confidence in his voice which he never had before, "Sir...I have modified the electrons to your visual cortex - there is no way he can affect you" He took a deep breath and composed himself. He was holding the hypo in the visual reality projection and just needed the right moment to apply it. "Admiral, please listen to me. You are ill. You have been infected by a virus. You are not yourself. I know you do not wish to harm any of your crew, including myself." John begged Elron spoke, with a slight hiss and anger in his voice "My crew ? Bah ! Only when they have all joined the brethren will they be my crew, and you will be the first. Relax Doctor, look at my eyes...." Elron stepped forward and prepared to bite the CMO, still unaware that he was not real flesh and blood. Storey saw his moment and took it, expertly administering the hypo. Elron was enraged and tried to strike the doctor who flinched backward then to Elrons amazement, just vanished ! Meanwhile, in sickbay, "I have disconnected the visual link Doctor, you can relax" Sarwan said "That is something I never want to do again! I need a Cuppa Tea" He said as he walked into the Office " You did well Doctor. How long do you anticipate the drug to render the Admiral unconscious ?" T'Caph said as she was following him into the office John looked at the screen on the wallwhich was monitoring Elrons bio-signs "Any...moment....NOW ! Get security in there and bring him out, quickly!" <tag Gauthier/security> Moments later, two large security personnel entered sickbay, carrying the unconscious form of the Admiral to the bio-bed which was ready and waiting. He would have to be restrained immediately as the drug was already wearing off slightly.
"GET HIM ON THAT BIO BED" John ordered, "Computer enable forcefield modifications" *bleep* The forcefield shimmered into view and Holi came next to John "What should I do John?" "Go and take a blood sample, and bring me the results, I'll be in my office. Recuperating"
John was not for going into situations in which he could get himself killed. He walked over to the replicator, "Tea, Hot"
OFF: Thanks to T'Caph for helping me with this post, THANKS

At last the Admiral was safely in custody and under the care of the Doctor.
T`Caph : Well done Ensign Sarwan. I will enter your achievement with the suits modifications in your record.
Sarwan : I...er...thank you Lieutenant.
Sadly the Ensign had returned to her usual state of shyness however T`Caph was impressed at how she had performed under pressure.
T`Caph : Ensign, get back to engineering and see that the electric shock security modifications in the Jeffries tubes are disabled and inform the staff they can get back to their tasks. I will disable all the level 10 forcefields from here after which I will return to engineering myself as I must send a transmission to the Fleet to inform them of the required modifications.
Sarwan : Aye Aye, on my way.
Entering Doctor Storey`s office, T`Caph complimented him again on his performance.
Storey :: putting down his tea :: Just dont put me through that again ! As soon as I have something to report I will send a Fleet-wide transmission for all medical personnel.
T`Caph : I am about to do the same regarding the way in which we captured the Admiral. My compliments on realising the DNA sample could enable the required modifications.
She then turned and left his office and made her way out of sickbay, preparing the Engineering transmission on a PADD as she went.

[ OFF - some time later ]
[ ON ]
T`Caph looked at her console as it beeped that there was an incoming message. It was from the USS Vesuvius. It was a response to her fleet wide transmission.
A cure...that was excellent news.
T`Caph : =/\= Doctor Storey, how is the Admiral ? =/\=
Storey : =/\= Strong - keeping him sedated is not easy. I am working as fast as I can but his physiology is so different from other species, it wont be easy to help him =/\=
T`Caph : =/\= I have received a transmission from the Vesuvius regarding a cure developed by Doctors Matthijs Buster and Jatan Reckus. Perhaps it can work on the Admiral, or at least you may be able to develop a suitable variation. I will be with you shortly, T`Caph out =/\=
The Vulcan left engineering and headed to sickbay. When she arrived, she entered the screened off area containing the Admiral. The state Elron was in would not be good for ships morale if the crew saw or heard him this way so she was not surprised that a security detail was also outside sickbay turning away any non-essential personel.
T`Caph handed the Doctor a PADD containing information on the virus. There was mention of Gene Resequencing, and transporter bio-filters seperating out a foreign pattern from an infected victim though the report did not say who that victim was, at least not that she could access - it was for the eyes of medical staff only. Perhaps, as with the Admiral, it was someone high ranking and would therefore affect a morale problem should the victim be openly named. T`Caph thought back to VA McCormick at the Academy party. Surely not ? No, logically, it could not be her. The Doctors on the Vesuvius came up with their data without having been near the VA`s location at the time. T`Caph realised of course that there was no point in wondering - the victims information had been omitted and therefore was not for her to wonder about.
If only she knew that the victim was in fact Commodore Sonak, a Vulcan, and how difficult it had been to cure her as a result - and how close T`Caph had come, twice, to becoming a victim herself !
T`Caph : So Doctor, can this information assist you ? I am ready to assist with the transporter should you require it.

"So Doctor, can this information assist you ? I am ready to assist with the transporter should you require it." T'Caph said "Oh yes this information is very useful, and O do not need your help with the transporters as I am not using them. I am a DNA Expert you know, so I will use my way to cure the admiral" "But.." "I will do things my way, and my way alone, my medical ways have never been criticised before, and they work, but you can help me with the DNA analysis if you wish?" "Yeah, sure"
John and T'caph walked over to the Microscope and John peered down, "Hmmmm, theres the foreign DNA, and there's the admirals....If we" John Started to mumble to himself as he worked, "GOT IT!" T'Caph looked shocked at John's outburst, "If we use a neroleptic compund, and introduce it into the admiral's blood stream, then it should destroy the DNA that does not belong in his body" "Will it cure him though?" "If we take a sample of his original DNA, and replicate it, and then introduce it with the neuroleptic compound he should go back to his original self" "Okay then, well i had better get back to engineering i got some reports to fill in" "Thank you for all your help Lieutenant, you will be mentioned in my report to Starfleet Medical and to the Admiral" With that T'Caph walked out of the Sickaby and proceeded to Engineering.
Meanwhile John got to work on the neuroleptic compound, luckily the Starfleet Medical had the admiral's DNA on file, so he pulled it up and replicated a few skin cells.
He placed the skin cells into the hypospray (with the neuroleptic compound) and gave it to Holi, "Holi, you know what to do" "Yes sir" she said cheerfully and she walked trhough the forcefield to administer the drug.
She put the hypospray to the Admiral's neck and pressed, there was a hiss and they knew that it had been administered correctly.
"We need to carry on this treatment until he wakes up"
John and Holi carried this on for approximately five hours, until the Admirals eye's flickered open "Why am i here?" He questioned "Sir, can't you remember anything?" "Not a thing no, whats happened?" John explained everything to the admiral through the forcefield, the Admiral looked dazed at the sound of it all. "Really?" "Yes sir, we don't know hoe long you have been infected, but the whole fleet is working hard to eradicate the virus, and i have to say so far, luckily, you were the only person affected by it on the Black Tulip" "Okay, so am i all fixed up then? "Holi, please give the admiral a check up, whilst i send a message to the fleet"
John walked into his Office and sat down. This whole experience had been a bit too much for him. He typed the letter out and it read:
ATTN: All CMO's in the fleet From: Acting Ensign John Storey, Chief Medical Officer, USS Black Tulip. Subject: Admiral Elron
I am please to say that Admiral Elron is fully recovered from the infection and there are no more infections on board the Black Tulip. Thank you for all your help, and good luck.
John finished the letter, and sunk into a deep sleep in his chair.

T`Caph reached Engineering and went to her office. Her first task was to log the details of what Ensign Sarwan had accomplished with the equipment which had led to the successful capture of Admiral Elron. That done, she was about to contact the doctor check on the Admirals status but she was interupted briefly when one of her staff brought the PADDs with the information confirming the actions which had been taken with regard to the Jeffries tubes. She was plesed to see everthing was back to the way it should be and the time lost had been made up already. She instructed the crewman to pass on her compliments to the rest of the engineering staff for their efficiency.
T`Caph : =/\= Doctor Storey, how is the Admiral ? =/\=
Storey : =/\= He`ll be just fine. The treatment is successful though it may be a day or two before he can return to duty - those forcefields took a lot out of him and I want him back to full strength before he gets out of my sick bay =/\=
T`Caph : =/\= Acknowledged =/\=
The doctor was somewhat abrasive in his manner, however he was a good doctor. Not arrogance perhaps, but he clearly had his " ways ". Perhaps T`Caph would invite him to join her in ten forward at some point, when he could relax more so she could get to know him. It certainly was beneficial in terms of meeting her engineering staff.
Crewman : Lieutenant, there is a minor equipment malfuntion on deck 7, I`ll attend to it now.
T`Caph : No - I`ll do it, thank you, dismissed
The staff were so efficient she had few hands-on tasks to do herself, and she did not become an engineer simply to look through PADDs all day !

Post by Elron on Jul 27, 2004 11:11:50 GMT
Vice Admiral Elron was resting up in his quarters. He had very little memory of the last few days, but there was a rumbling in his stomach that told him he hadn't eaten much in that time. Avari were famous for their large appetites and Elron had spent a lot of time at the replicator today. He had a slight head-ache, but was otherwise back to his usual self. He even managed to read for a while in between naps. Doctor Storey had ordered that he not return to duty for a couple more days, so he had left the ship in the capable hands of Cmdr Munroe. Gauthier, Saberwyne and McCord were still assigned to the other ships in the task force.
Elron was about to order his fifth bowl of lembas, when a top priority communique' came through for him from Starfleet Intelligence. It was a Code 47 transmission. He sat at his desk and answered it.
"Admiral Elron, we have received some disturbing reports that the information we sent you was inaccurate. We now believe that the Romulans have been operating in sector 139. No encounters have been heard of with any Borg technology, but we believe you will find them in the same sector."
Elron said nothing at first, then slowly replied "I'm ordering the task force to regroup at Outpost 329. I want a better analysis of the information and I want a new strategy planned out. Our current strategy is getting us nowhere and has left us open to random assaults."
"Understood, Admiral," came the reply from the comm display. "I will alert the Outpost to your impending arrival and have operatives sent there to discuss the situation with you."
"Thank you. Black Tulip out." The display switched off and Elron heard the door chime. "Come in." It was Doctor Storey come to check on him. "I trust you're feeling better, sir?" he asked amiably. "Yes. Quite, thank you. I hope to be back on duty by tomorrow morning." John frowned slightly. "Well, let's just take things one day at a time, shall we."

T`Caph put her tools in their bag, the minor job done. What to do next she wondered. She did not need to wonder for long .
Storey : =/\= Lieutenant T`Caph, you have still not had your medical yet. Now would be a good time. =/\=
He was as " chipper " as usual then ! This could be the opportunity to invite the doctor to ten forward she decided.
T`Caph : =/\= On my way doctor =/\=
Ten minutes later she entered sick bay and waited patiently. Storey was entering some data into a PADD.
Storey :: not looking up :: Sit on the biobed Lieutenant.
She did so, and continued waiting. Finally he approached and began the examination.
T`Caph : Doctor, if I may, I wondered if you would like to meet me for a drink when your shift finishes. I have found it beneficial for people to get to know each other when they serve together.
Storey : I know you already T`Caph. I know your blood structure, your metabolic rate, I could tell you what you had for lunch if I felt the need. What else do I need to know ?
T`Caph : My character ? My personality ? I would also be interested to know yours, to understand how you think. As my friends on the Hepta would say, to find out what makes you " tick "...
Storey : Heart valves, much the same as anyone else.
T`Caph realised she would not get anywhere with this line. He obviously felt no need to socialise.
T`Caph : So, the Admiral. How is he ?
Storey : Recovering well. He thinks he will be on duty tomorrow but I will see how his readings are first. He is probably going to be well enough but he does not need to know that yet.
T`Caph : Is he allowed visitors ? I still have not properly introduced myself - he was not " himself " when I arrived aboard.
Storey : Yes, I suppose so if you must, but dont take up too much of his time, he is suppose to be resting you know.
T`Caph : Understood
Storey : Right, well thats you done. Healthy as a horse. Try and stay that way, I dont want my sickbay cluttered with crew.
T`Caph : Doctor ?
Storey : Go, go
T`Caph : Thank you Doctor
She got off the biobed and reached the door then she glanced back at the doctor. Again he was busy with a PADD. She turned away again and just as the door swished open, the doctor said :: 2100 hours ::
T`Caph : Pardon doctor ?
Still not looking up from the PADD he said :: 2100 hours. Have an Altarian Brandy waiting for me ::
T`Caph :: pausing momentarily :: I will do so
She left sickbay, and was now even more intrigued by the doctor. A most puzzling personality indeed !
So, to see the Admiral. She made her way to his quarters then stood outside and made sure her uniform was neat and tidy.
T`Caph : Admiral, this is Lieutenant T`Caph
Elron : Enter
She walked in and saw the Admiral sitting on a chair, gently swinging his legs as he took mouthful of food. She noticed several empty bowls in a neat pile. He had a good appetite it seemed !
T`Caph : I am sorry to disturb you while you are having a meal Sir. I can come back later if you prefer ?
Elron : Not at all, just finished. What can I do for you ?
T`Caph : We did not have the opportunity to meet properly when I arrived, I thought now may be appropriate ?
Elron : Indeed it would. I`m afraid I dont recall much from the last few days. I hope you understand I was not quite....myself
T`Caph : I understand completely sir. I am glad to see you looking well now.
Elron : Thank you Lieutenant. Perhaps its as well I can`t remember much ?
T`Caph : I concur
Elron : That bad ?
T`Caph : You were quite a...challenge.
Elron :: smiling wryly :: I will take that as a compliment. Now, tell me about yourself. I like to get to know my crew. In fact, take a seat
T`Caph was a little surprised at the informality, but she sat at the table. As she did so, Elron got down off his seat and went to the replicator, ordered a bowl of lembas for himself and, as she was a Vulcan, a vegetarian soup for T`Caph.
Elron : Here you are, join me for a bite. Hmmm, perhaps I could have phrased that better !
T`Caph looked at Elron and saw a twinkle in his eye - this was more like the Admiral she had heard about. The two tucked in to their food. As they ate, they discussed how she was settling in, how the staff were working for her, and that when she left his quarters, Elron wanted all systems ready for high warp to a new destination. Finally, Elron tried to stifle a yawn but T`Caph noticed, realising how long they had been talking. No wonder the Admiral was tired.
T`Caph : Admiral, I have taken enough of your time. I would not wish to face the wrath of Doctor Storey, so I will get to engineering and leave you to rest.
Elron : I have enjoyed our little chat. I intend to be on duty in the morning. Let the conn know as soon as you are satisfied all systems are optimal so we can get going.
T`Caph : Consider it done Admiral. Good day
She left Elrons quarters then headed to engineering. Within fifteen minutes, the Black Tulip was heading to Outpost 329 at warp 7

2100 hours had ended fairly quickly and John proceeded to Ten Forward. He walked in and didn't see T'Caph there, "Maybe she's delayed" John walked to the bar, "Altarian Brandy please" the barkeep nodded and went and got the drink.
John sat down and the drink got passed to him, he took it and took a sip. The brandy tasted refreshing after the work he done with the Admiral, he looked up and saw T'Caph walking thorugh the doors. She looked over worked, and she walked straight to John, "Hello, T'Caph, you looked over worked, would you care for a drink?" "Yes, an Alpha-Currant Necta please" "Allright," John summonded the barkeep and said "An Alpha-Currant Necta and another Altarian Brandy please" The barkeep fetched the drinks, and T'Caph took hers gratefully. There was an awkward silence between them.
T'Caph turned to him and asked "Have you got any children? Are you married?" "No, i am not married, i am single hence no children, yourself?"
OFF: T'Caph take it away.
Sorry i haven't been posting recently, my internet access has been restricted due to summer holidays in the UK, and my mother needs to a lot for work. I will post when i can.

OFF: Acknowledged Doctor. Just do what you can. ON: Elron was more than ready for his first day back on duty. He felt as if he hadn't been on the bridge for weeks. Well... when you considered the time that he hadn't been himself, it was actually weeks. He stepped out the turbolift and felt thoroughly refreshed. As much as he liked spending time in his quarters - it was a vast improvement on sickbay, which he avoided at all costs - he could only take it for so long. This was where he liked to be now. The ships had their new heading; they were sailing in unison now, with matched speeds and courses. The bridge crew were silently going about their daily routines. T'Caph was down in Engineering and Doctor Storey was in sickbay, so he was surrounded by junior officers. The truth was that Elron liked spending shifts with just the junior officers because it gave him a chance to talk to them. They tended to be a bit nervous if you approached them off-duty, but you could get decent conversations out of them while they were working. It gave him a chance to keep tabs on their performance too. He liked being able to put a face to every name when the departmental reports came his way. "Ensign, what's our ETA for Outpost 329?""18 hours and 53 minutes, sir," she replied from the conn. "Increase speed to warp 8. Signal the other ships to do likewise.""Aye, sir."The Admiral sat back and enjoyed the cool feel of the synthetic leather of the chair against his skin. Being an Avari, he had requested a special form of sythetic material that was always cool; the normal leather tended to get a little too warm for him in times of tension. He watched as the starfield stretched out before him and awaited their arrival at the outpost.

[ OFF - in ten forward with the Doc ]
After an awkward silence, T'Caph turned to him and asked "Have you got any children? Are you married?" "No, i am not married, i am single hence no children, yourself?"
T`Caph : No, I have none, however I am bonded to an officer on another ship.
Storey : Missing him ?
T`Caph : I am Vulcan - I do not see the point in missing him as there is nothing we can do about it, however, I am sure we will see eachother soon.
Storey : Bonded ? You mean married ?
T`Caph : No we have not had a ceremony but its possible in due course.
Storey : I hope it works out for you.
Just then, T`Caph felt the change in the ships engines - they had increased speed.
T`Caph : Doctor, tell me, what do you do to relax ?
Storey : Research. I enjoy my research.
T`Caph : With respect Doctor, that is not giving yourself time away from your work. Perhaps you might join me in the holosuite and try a different kind of relaxation ?
Storey : For instance ?
T`Caph : Is there anywhere you have always to visit but never had the time perhaps ?
Storey : maybe. I will have to think about it and get back to you.
Just then, a figure caught the Doctors eye. Someone new on board it appeared ? She was an Ensign and looked rather lost. T`Caph motioned to the bar keep and asked him to invite the young ensign to join them.
Bethany : Thank you, I have just come aboard a short while ago. Ensign Hill :: extended a hand ::
T`Caph :: shaking her hand :: I am T`Caph, the CEO, and this is Doctor Storey
Storey : Welcome Ensign. I trust I will be seeing you soon for your medical ?
Bethany : You will - especially as I want to make sure things go smoothly :: puts a hand to her stomach ::
T`Caph : You are expecting a child ?
Bethany : Three actually
T`Caph : In that case, you had better take a seat
Bethany : I will, thank you, but it is alright, they wont be arriving for a while
The three continued talking, getting to know each other better....

OFF: Ensign Hill i have recieved your medical history from your previous Pysician. ON: John, T'Caph and Bethany, were all sitting at the bar talking amongst themselves. John said "Barkeep, what is the time?" "22.30" "Thank you," he turned to T'Caph and Bethany, "Well i am going to have to bid you farewell, i have to get some rest, i start at 0600 tomorrow" John stood up and and and held out his hand, Bethany knew what it meant and shook it. However T'Caph was as bit hesitant to do the same, but eventually she did. John smiled and walked out of ten forward and to his quarters/ He got in and said "Computer lights off" The lights immediatly faded, "Computer, play music file Sotrey Alpha One" Tchaikovsky started to play, and John sat on the chiar and closed his eyes. He fell into a deep sleep. ~0500 Hours~ John woke up and stifled a yawn and rubbed his eyes, he walked over to the replicator "Tea Hot" It materialised in front of him and he took a drink, the hot liquids soothing his insides. He finished his tea, and put it back onto the repliactor to recycle. Tchaikovsky had long stopped playing. He went to the sonic shower and gave himself a good clean, and then went to his wardrobe. He pulled ou his uniform, and out it on. He then walked out of his quartes and proceeded to sickbay, he walked in and Holi was treating an engineering officer, "Morning Holi" "Morning John""How was the night?" "Slow, this is all we had all night""Okay, i will be in my office writing my report for Admiral Elron, then i will head to his ready room to check up on him" "Understood"John walked into his office and started to write his reports that he had to hand in to Admiral Elron, at 0900 that morning,

OFF> I would like to welcome our new members to the ship. For those that dont know I am the ship's Liaison Officer and am curently stationed somewhere around Earth. I occasionally do join missions as time allows. I am the longest serving member of the ship (I think) and can honestly say that the ship is a great one. Feel free to use fictitional people in your posts and use current people as you wish. A main fictional character we have is Holi, the EMH program in sickbay. She does have a mobile emitter so feel free to use her on short away missions or anywhere in the ship as you see fit. Enjoy your sty on the ship and lets have fun with our missions (ok the missions are serious, but have fun coming up with your posts for them :) ).

Doctor Storey left ten forward. T`Caph found his gruff exterior less noticeable now that she had been able to talk to him socially. Now it was she and Bethany sat at the table. Bethany had mentioned that she played the clarinet, to which T`Caph, a former music scholar on Vulcan, suggested they may play some pieces at some opportune time. They could even participate in a concert some time - Ensign Sarwan, under the duties given to her by T`Caph to improve her self worth and social developement, was planning such a diversion for the crew`s entertainment.
T`Caph : I am fascinated by your parentage. Tell me, do you find it problematic ? I refer to logic versus your human side ? Was your upbringing in predominantly Vulcan or human culture ? And what of your impending offspring ? Will they be introduced to Vulcan history and culture ? What of the father ?
She realised she had been firing questions one after another, and personal ones which Bethany may not wish to answer. She apologised, then sat and listened as Bethany responded.

The Engineering deck was a hub of activity as the department staff worked to perfect the ship's systems. It was an atmosphere that vaguely reminded Elron of his days as a research scientist at the Omicron Fleet Yards. The tension, the enthusiasm, the sense of purpose. After a brief search, he found Lt T'Caph on the raised catwalk. She was issuing orders with exactly the deadpan authority you'd expect from a Vulcan officer, while the engineers followed every instruction promptly and efficiently. They clearly respected and appreciated their new chief; this was the most organised Elron had seen the department in a long time.
"Lieutenant," called the Admiral, "could I have a word please?" T'Caph's attention was immediately drawn to the source of the hail, and she nodded in acknowledgement. Within a few minutes she had descended to the main deck and successfully navigated the throng of engineers passing back and forth. "How are you feeling, Admiral?" she asked with genuine concern. This opening query caught Elron by mild surprise. In his experience it was far more common for a Vulcan to respond with a polite "How can I be of assistance?" or "What can I do for you?". He found it quite unusual for a Vulcan to express passing concern for the welfare of someone they barely knew. But then, T'Caph didn't seem like your average Vulcan. "I'm very well, thank you T'Caph. I feel just like my old self again - I'm not even that hungry any more," he added with a grin.
Elron leaned back against the master systems display console with his legs crossed in front of him, looking quite as though he were relaxing at home. "I was just wondering whether you would be interested in joining in a series of sporting events I'll be organising for the senior officers when we arrive at Outpost 329. I like to get to know my crew on a personal level as well as professional, and I've found that during shore-leave can be the easiest time for it." He couldn't be sure, but it looked to him as though T'Caph was smiling slightly as she replied "If the rest of the senior staff are going to be there then I shall certainly make an effort." "Well, you're not committed to anything but it would certainly be nice to see you. You're free to make an appearance whenever you like. I just wanted to give you some advance warning in case I forget later." "The invitation is much appreciated, sir." As she finished her sentence, a crewman approached and waited patiently to be acknowledged. "If there's nothing else, sirβ¦" she said without looking at the engineer. "No, no. I'll let you get back to work now. Keep it up!"
Leaving the commotion behind him, Elron decided to visit sickbay next. As someone who felt a strong aversion to medical exams it was a place he rarely came in contact with. However, there was no reason for his irrational attitude to interfere with his relationship with the medical department. He was curious to see how John and Holli were getting along together after all this timeβ¦

[ OFF timeline of post begins prior to seeing Elron in Engineering ]
T`Caph assured Bethany that she would not ask any further questions about her upbringing or background. It seemed a source of unpleasantness for her. It was most unusual for a Vulcan to walk away from a parental responsibility. She decided she would try to show Bethany that it was not typical of Vulcans at all. This was not the time however. It was getting late.
T`Caph : I would like to see you in engineering in the morning if you can spare the time ? A recent incident involved engineering systems being adapted for security purposes. It may interest you to see how they worked ?
Bethany : Yes, that sounds useful for me to see. I will take my leave now, but I will see you there at 0800hrs
T`Caph : Very well. Goodnight
She watched Bethany leave then finished her drink before heading to her own quarters.
----------------------------------
It seemed like minutes but T`Caph awoke hours later after a fitful sleep. She was totally refreshed and ready for the day ahead. She had breakfast then dressed and headed to Engineering, pleased to see everyone already at work, concentrating on their tasks but clearly happy in their work.
At 0800hrs on the dot, Bethany approached. T`Caph acknowledged her arrival with a nod and beckoned her to one of the consoles. She showed her what had been done in the Jeffries tubes, then took her to where the suit used by the doctor was stored.
Bethany : Most interesting. This could indeed have some useful security applications. Perhaps I and my team could be trained in its use ?
T`Caph : Certainly. Perhaps you could arrange some holodeck programs to put them through their paces ?
Bethany : An excellent idea. I will let you know when that will be ready. In the meantime I will arrange times for my team to see you, to learn how to use it.
T`Caph : Good. I will have Ensign Sarwan see to their instruction. She modified the suit and is most capable.
Bethany : Thank you. Now, what else can you show me ?
Storey : =/\= Ensign Hill, come to sickbay please, I am ready to do your medical now. =/\=
Bethany : We can continue another time perhaps. I don not wish to keep the doctor waiting. Thank you for the tour so far. Good morning
She nodded politely and left for her medical. T`Caph knew they would be able to work very well together. Engineering and Security often had to coi-incide so a particularly good working relationship with each department was always desired on a ship. It was T`Caphs wish to also be a friend to Bethany, if her dislike of her past allowed her to accept T`Caphs friendship of course.
She looked around her department, and decided to check out some systems herself. She decided to go to the catwalk. Once there, she noted there were some improvements she would like to try and now was as good a time as any. She was giving the instructions to the appropriate staff when she heard a familiar voice call to her.
"Lieutenant," called the Admiral, "could I have a word please?"
This was a surprise. The Admiral in Engineering ? The rest of the staff gave each other puzzled looks as T`Caph made her way to him and they talked. Nothing seemed wrong, they were both relaxed as they talked quietly.
A few minutes later the Admiral left Engineering. T`Caph was acutely aware that they had been watched and she simply looked back at her staff one at a time. They all turned back to their tasks immediately, a little embarrassed to have been caught staring, but they were so in awe of Elron they could not help themselves it seemed. T`Caph noticed Ensign Sarwan was blushing greatly though she pretended not to have noticed the Admiral.
T`Caph raised an eyebrow to herself then went back up to the catwalk to continue overseeing the improvements she had set the staff to work on.

=/\= Ensign Hill, come to sickbay please, I am ready to do your medical now. =/\= John said as he finished his reports.
He walked over to the Biobed, pressed a button and the sides came down, he checked everything was okay, as Bethany walked in.
"Ensign Hill, please take a seat" She nodded and sat down, "Please don't be afraid, this is just routine, but i will need to ask you a few questions, do you understand?" "Yes" she replied
John pulled the sanner from his tricorder, and scanned down her left side, he noticed that she had had no surgery at all during the time at the academy. John walked over to the console and tapped the screen, her medical information pooped up.
Stardate 900711.48: I have diagnosed Cadet Bethany Hill with a reversed condition of Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn, where antibodies formed by her unborn have passed the placenta and are breaking down her red/green blood cells. I have given her a widespread anti-Rhesus to treat the condition. She has been diagnosed as being pregnant of triplets, which worsened the condition. After treatment she will require bloodtests if she is ever diagnosed pregnant again, and when the unborn have opposite Rhesus factors compared to her own, she will need the unborn to be given anti-Rhesus to prevent formation of antibodies.
Doctor Michael Hope, attending Physician USS hanson
"I see you have had some problems with your children" "Yes, Doctor Hope gave me something for it....an anti-rhesus or something" "Yes, well i need to give you another today, but first lets finished our physical shall we?" "Yes" "Please lie down" She complied and John pressed the buttons, the sides whooshed up and the full body scan intiated. It stopped almost as quickly as it started"Okay, looking good, now lets take a look at the kids" and he smiled and so did she.
John pressed the buttons and the sides came down, Bethany sat up, he pulled out the medical scanner and scanned her children.
"Well everything looks fine Ensign, thank you" She smiled and looked at John "Thank you Doctor"
She stood up and started to walk out, "Wait Ensign, you need your appoint for your anti-rhesus treatment" "Oh yes of course" "How about tomorrow at 19.00, the last appointment?" "Yes that will be fine, thank you doctor" and she walked out.
John turned back to his office and sat down, he just sat down as Elron walked in. "Hello Admiral, how are you today, i was just coming to see you"
