Magellan froze as he listened to Stuart stood at the front of the bridge. He glanced about him and noted that some of the Galaxy staff had reached for phasers. He slowly but deliberatly shook his head and flicked his hand out. The crewman nodded and returned the weapons but kept their hands close by.
Ezedriana was the first to gather her wits and she approached the Doctor,
Stuart turned back from the viewscreen and stared at them, Magellan and Voran stepped up protectivly to flank the Ambassador.
When Mercy spoke again it was all of a muddle as if the words were out of kilter with the thoughts. For a moment Magellan thought he caught a glimmer of the real Dr Mercy in the eyes of the man before him. Perhaps the doctor was struggling with this shovosh internally?
They were all interrupted by Logan who burst from the turbolift Without thinking, Jack started speaking a langauge that he didn't know, but it seemed the alien in the doctor did.
Leaning into whisper into Ezedrianas ear Magellan said, "Looks like we have a translator, this is your chance. We need our Doctor back safe and sound please, make that a priority, no negotiations till we know hes safe."

Commander Rekak sat quietly in the dull glow of his cloaked Warbird. In front of him a pair of Centurions handled the helm and tactical. He waited patiently fully aware that very soon the Ambassador would appear, either way he was prepared, he had read Tedaks file. The man had a fine history in the military and the Tal'Shiar but since retiring and becoming a diplomat the mans decisions had become more and more unreliable.
He heard the entry door open and turned to see the Ambassador approach. Without preamble Tedak got to the point.
"Perhaps we should offer them a truce," he suggested, "it has been long ago that our argument with them occurred. Yes they may want revenge, but perhaps they can be persuaded to leave us alone. If the Federation negotiates something with them, then perhaps we can offer something in return?"
Rekak frowned he might have guessed the Federation would attempt to risk it all be talking to these creatures.
"What we do Ambassador is not reliant on what the Federation do. Do you think it is in the best interests of the Empire to allow the Federation to make such a powerful and venomous ally?"
TAG Tedak
"Then perhaps in our interests to procrastinate in order for the rift to widen and for 100's or 1000's of them to escape. No?"
Rekak crossed his legs and turned back to the viewscreen. "Our first loyalty is to the empire, and if the Federation don't have the will to seal that rift we may have to do it ourselves. Can I suggest you return below decks Ambassador its going to get quite busy up here soon and I wouldnt want you in the way or...injured."

ooc: again can't be buggered to change accounts between Tedak and T'Val....so sorta JP again.
ic: Romulan Vessel "What we do Ambassador is not reliant on what the Federation do. Do you think it is in the best interests of the Empire to allow the Federation to make such a powerful and venomous ally?"
"No," Tedak had to admit, "it is not. However..." The Romulan commander interrupted him before he could finish.
The Romulan diplomat frowned at the commander's stubbornness and closemindedless. "But if we offered them a truce, and an opportunity to ally with us, it would strengthen the Empire's position," Tedak argued. "If we seal that rift, then the anger of this creatures will be more intensified and what will happen when the rift happens to open again in the future then, we can only pray that they won't turn on us."
His frown deepened when Rekak suggested he go below deck. "You can suggest it," he countered, "but I would prefer to stay here. I am combat trained, perhaps I can help. Please do not worry about my safety, I can take care of myself." He sincerely doubted Rekak would be worried about his safety. "And I will stay out of the way, I will just seat myself at an unused console and observe."
USS Galaxy T'Val walked back onto the bridge, carrying an additional men's size t-shirt and some shorts and resolutely walked towards Stuart. While she understood he was possessed by this creature, he was still dressed in his swimming gear, and she assumed he would be starting to grow cold now.
Without a word, she started pulling the shirt over his head, guiding his arms into the sleeves, then proceeded to assist in pulling on his shorts. She didn't want to get in the way of negotiations, but she didn't want him to fall ill as a result of this either. When she was done, she stepped aside and waked up to Voran and Magellan, anxiously watching the proceedings. ~please let him be all right~ she silently prayed.

"Looks like we have a translator, this is your chance. We need our Doctor back safe and sound please, make that a priority, no negotiations till we know hes safe."
"Understood," Ezdreiana said as she noticed the rescued Commander still talking to the alien that was possessing the doctor.
"Commander....Commander!" Ezdreiana said until she got his attention. "Do you understand me?"
"Yes, I understand what you are saying?" Commander Logan responded.
"Do you know what you are saying to the alien inside Doctor Stuart?" Ezdreiana asked.
"Shovosh, he has a name, Ambassador," Commander Logan said," he wishes to be spoken to by his given name."
"Yes of course," Ezdreiana said looking at shovosh," I apologize for any offense, Shovosh." It was awkward to speak to an alien in a person that she knew, but this was the only way that they could do these talks. Everything went silent when shovosh began to speak once again. The universal translator understood nothing, but it seemed that the commander could.
"This is shovosh of the Alterian Empire," Commander Logan said," his people have been trapped in the rift for thousands of years. They were trapped by there enemies and have been trying to escape ever since." "Why were you imprisoned?" Ezdreiana asked. The commander relayed the question and shovosh began to speak again.
"He says that his people were imprisoned there for sharing their gifts with lower species by their own governing body," Logan answered," shovosh is the leader of small Alterian sect."
"Why attack the Romulans?" Ezdreiana asked. This time shovosh responded.
...the Romulans they stopped us from escaping our prison...they wanted to use us as a power source... in our natural state we are pure energy... they killed half our people in there vain attempt for power... they stopped us from escaping...we haven't had the opportunity to escape for a long time...there are so few of us now... all we want is to destroy the Romulans...
There was another silence on the bridge, everyone understood what this meant. Ezdreiana felt immense sympathy for shovosh and his people, but there was no way that they could allow the Romulans to be destroyed.
"You know that we cannot allow that," Ezdreiana said," the Romulans you speak of are long dead."
"He doesn't believe you," Logan said," he's using me as an example. It seems that they knew of me while I was in the rift and that if I can survive so can those Romulans."
"Why, why not just escape and leave this galaxy?" Ezdreiana asked.
...we no longer have enough strength to keep the rift... open for everyone to escape...that is why only one of us leaves at a time when the rift opens...we attack those that tried to enslave us and return back to this hell...we must live as a community...we alone will die...
Ezdreiana turned her attention to the Admiral who like everyone else was listening to everything that was being said. It was a miracle that the Alterians hadn't destroyed them already, but deep down she knew that they wanted to escape more than there need for revenge.
"Could we help them escape?" Ezdreiana asked knowing that the Romulans would have a serious problem with this.

OOC: Okay, I don't know if any of you had any plans to name these species. If you did just tell me and I will modify there names.
In a previous post I had established them as The Brenet, space dwelling life forms from fluidic space - but I like the idea that they originally came from this galaxy - we can run with that. Magellan

T'Val held her breath as she watched the exchange between Shovosh and Ezdreiana. She stood beside Magellan, whom she knew was also watching the proceedings with both dread and interest. Unconsciously, she reached for his hand, squeezing it tightly as she watched the scene before her.
She desperately wanted to go to Stuart, to offer moral and mental support but she understood that such an action might destroy anything Ezdreiana had achieved so far. It was one of the advantages of having been married to a diplomat.
Yade gave a soft squawk in protest as she picked up on her mistress' mood and elsewhere, Dinas echoed the protest. However neither firelizard moved from their perches, both feeling that any movement on their part would do more harm than good.
With her free hand, T'Val gently stroked the green creature which sat perched on her shoulder, hidden between her hair.

OOC: Magellan thanks for letting me run with this.
IC:
Ezdreiana waited for Admiral Lin to say something, but there was no response because Shovosh interrupted him.
...will you...help my people?.....
"It's not that easy," Ezdreiana responded. Releasing a powerful species into the quadrant could unstable the fragile peace that they currently had. Shovosh might be telling them the truth, but that didn't make them any less powerful. What if they changed there mind, there would be no way of stopping them.
"The only way we will help you is if you answer all of our questions," Ezdreiana said.
"How many more questions do I have to answer?" Logan said speaking for Shovosh again.
"Why haven't you gotten help from the other species from fluidic space?" Ezdreiana asked knowing that Species 8472 was not there real name.
"When we approached them they were at war with the Borg and a ship that was helping them," Logan responded.
Ezdreiana knew exactly what Shovosh was speaking of. It was what Admiral Janeway had called the Borg-Species 8472 War. The Admiral had said that it was one of the darkest moments of her life.
"We have not asked for there help again," Logan said. This time something happened that Ezdreiana hadn't expected and that was Commander Logan speaking for himself. No one could understand them, so they would have to wait to know what he had said.
"Well Commander," Ezdreiana said looking at the still commander.
"I've told them that you are honorable people and that you will stick by your word," Logan explained," he trust you, but he is reluctant to believe that you would help them."
"Why?" Ezdreiana asked.
"You recently had a Romulan on this ship," Logan responded," you have dealings with our enemy!"
"There enemy Commander," Ezdreiana said perplexed by the Commander's language," you said our enemy."
"You know what I meant," Logan responded," I...wait they understand your position, but if the Romulans want to finish what they started they will be able to once they come out of the rift. It will take a few minutes for them to regain there strength."
"We would protect them," Ezdreiana said looking at Magellan and saw his confirmation." One of our tenants is to protect all sentient life, you know that as Federation citizens we have given our lives for this principle."
"He believes you," Logan said," but there is a problem. The body he inhabits is in critical condition. Shovosh will have to leave his body and when he does you must attend to him immediately. Treat him for hypothermia."
"Wait where is he going to go?" Shawn asked.
"Shawn do you really have to ask?" Logan said looking at his friend. It was a marvelous site to behold as the pure energy Alterian left his current host and traveled into the waiting Commander.
"We speak for the Alterian Empire," Logan said," and if you will help us, you will make a true friend and we wish to speak to Tedak of Romulus"

Tedak had barely settled himself at one of the spare consoles, to stay out of Rekak's way as he had promised he would when suddenly he was called back to the Galaxy. He rolled his eyes at Rekak as he got up from his seat. "So like Starfleet," he muttered, "they just can't make up their minds. Oh I know they'd prefer to have me gone...most of them do anyway..."
When Rekak didn't respond, Tedak just got up and left, knowing that Rekak would rather have him gone too. He chuckled to himself as he readied himself to be transported back to the Galaxy. "You called for me?" he stated, as he entered the conference room. He noticed both doctors were now absent, and he wondered where they'd gone off to.
Then he took notice of the visibly hostile look Logan cast him, and he instantly knew something wasn't quite right with the ensign. "I assume I am called back to join the talks with the Brenet?" he querried, "even though it would be preferable to them that I shouldn't be present at all?" He wondered if he was in any danger from them.
"No, we wish to speak to you," Logan spoke up, in a voice that was his, but also wasn't.
"We?" the Romulan returned as he seated himself un one of the vacant chairs. "If you are offering a peace treaty then I am certain we can come to an understanding. I can understand the hatred of your species towards mine, but I assure you that not everyone agreed with my government's methods. I do not..."

"We will honor your request," Logan responded.
βAmbassador, perhaps we can move to the Conference Room I'll have Ambassador Tedak come aboard to negotiate on the Romulans behalf.β
"Understood," Ezdreiana responded as she led the Commander to the conference room. For the first time, Ezdreiana noticed the slight charge eminating from the commander. Maybe that's what drained Doctor Mercy Ezdreiana thought as she sat down and waited for Tedak to arrive. It didn't take long for the Romulan known as Tedak to arrive, which caused Shovosh to become agitated.
"I assume I am called back to join the talks with the Brenet?" he querried, "even though it would be preferable to them that I shouldn't be present at all?"

"Quite, we do not want to hear your pitiful excuses," Logan spat noticing that the anger was not his but Shovosh." We are only speaking to you beacuse of Ambassador Ezdreiana and Admiral Lin."
"We are not hear to fight," Ezdreiana said stopping them from getting more agitated. "Ambassador Tedak, Admiral Lin has agreed to help the Brenet escape the rift." Before Tedak could object, Ezdreiana was going to make sure that she informed him of everything.
"The Brenet have promised to hurt no one, including your people," Ezdrieana said," they are also prepared to sign a treaty with the Romulan Empire and the Federatiion."

Stuart woke up, lying on one of the many biobeds in sickbay. He was shivering and couldn't remember how he got here. The last thing he remembered was being on the bridge with his swimming trunks on.
Then he thought of T'Val in her attire, or lack of, it brought a slight smile to his face. He looked around for her, but she wasn't within visible range. ~She must be in the office.~ He thought.
Then their conversation came back to him, the one from the holodeck. He shared his fear of them loosing their lives if this rift was opened. Their life, a life they hadn't lived yet. That's what made him rush to the bridge in the first place, to see if they had come up with a solution.
Stuart had come to the realization that he wasn't ready to quit on life yet, not without living to its fullest with T'Val and D'Beren.
Where was she? He couldn't get up as there was a stabilizing forcefield keeping him down. Stuart remained there, staring at the ceiling, and simply called out her name. "T'Val! Are you there? T'Val dear."

Tedak "The Brenet have promised to hurt no one, including your people," Ezdrieana said," they are also prepared to sign a treaty with the Romulan Empire and the Federatiion."
"I was not going to offer pitiful excuses," Tedak offered gently, gazing directly at Logan/Shovosh, "for there is no excuse for what my people have done to yours. I can only offer my apologies for what grief has been caused you. If you have made the promise not to hurt my people, then I shall accept that and convey it to my people."
He gazed at Ezdreiana with respect anew, he knew he wouldn't have been able to broker this treaty on his own and he did feel he hadn't much part in this one at all, where the brokering had been concerned. "I will gladly sign a treaty between our people, " he continued, smiling gently, "and I will make certain my people will uphold our end of this treaty. Too many lives have already been lost, on each side. Let's work together to saving lives instead."
(logan/shovosh)
T'Val
T'Val was indeed in the office, busy updating her records and duty logs. Earlier she'd been transported to sickbay with Stuart and she'd done her best to get his temperature back up to normal. She knew that he'd feel cold for a while, but at least he no longer was in any danger of freezing to death.
She desperately wanted to be with him, and her love for him would eventually overcome the resentment over nearly being abused on the holodeck. She still didn't understand why he had done it, and wondered if he understood himself. Now that she knew he'd been possessed, she reasoned that this would explain his memory lapses. But would it also explain his odd emotional behaviour towards her?
When she heard him call her name, she appeared from the office and approached him. The stabilizing field was still holding him down and she wasn't sure whether she'd remove it. Checking his vitals on the monitor at his feet she did conclude that they were back up to normal. However before deactivating the field, she first fetched a blanket; she didn't want him to become ill again. As soon as she deactivated the field, she wrapped the blanket tightly around him.
"I thought I was going to lose you," she whispered at him as she held him close to her.

"Lose me? Why, what happened? Why am I here and why am I so cold?"
T'Val took the time to explain what had been happening and what she thought Stuart was experiencing. Then he remembered the slap on his face and she explained the casue for it.
"Stuart embraced her ever so lovingly. "Oh T'val. I'm so sorry. you should know that I would never try to hurt you intentionally, and I would never disrespect you in such a way. Now I understand why you slapped me, you had every right."
He took her face into his hands and gave her a reassuring kiss.
"Tval?"
"Yes, Stuart?"
"This whole thing here...us...I mean I don't want it to quit. If we get out of this rift situation...would you consider being my wife...I mean not now...later...soon...I mean...when it's right I guess..."
He was so flustered, he wasn't quite sure what he was asking. He looked at her looking back at him. She finally gave him a smile, while he waited to hear what she had to say.

Now it was T'Val's turn to be flustered and her face took a darker shade of green when it finally sank in what he'd asked her. At the head of the bed, Yade warbled happily. T'Val gazed around to see how many nurses were gazing in their direction and was actually surprised to see none were paying attention.
Usually, the nursing staff was a good start for a gossip session. T'Val remained silent for a moment longer. "It has never not been right," she whispered between kisses, then broke away. He was gazing at her expectantly and she smiled again but still said nothing.
After what seemed an everlasting silence, T'Val finally answered. "Yes," she whispered, "the answer is yes." She decided she'd let him sweat on it long enough. Yade's warble increased in volume, her eyes whirling fast in all happy colours. "Shht," T'Val admonised her pet, "not all in sickbay need to know just yet...or it will be all over the ship before we can announce it."
The green stopped midwarble and fanned her wings in protest, getting her tail entangled in the sheets. She screeched as T'Val reached to free her.
"This situation will be resolved," T'Val now assured her patient/fiancΓ©, "Tedak is on board as well as Ezdreiana. I am certain they will reach an understanding."

Magellan sat quietly, allowing the diplomats to do their job. He knew Tedak would aquiesce the question was more whether Rekak would go along with what the Romulan Ambassador was agreeing to here.
Romulans had long memories and held grudges, even if the Brenet and their Alterian Empire returned to normal space there was no guarantee that the splintered factions of the Star Empire would abide by any decision made here.
There was also the tremendous risk that the Brenet were not sincere at all. At the moment Magellan was confident that his taskforce could handle a single Brenet if it emerged, but they were talking about all of them. Was this all a ruse to help these space dwellers invade our galaxy.
It all came down to faith and it was this faith that stayed Magellans hand. He had always prided himself on being able to sort the wheat from the chaff and one fact reassured him. Whilst in possession of Dr Mercy Shovosh could have conducted all manner of sabotage and yet didnt. He came and talked. A lot hung on that fact and Magellan hoped Shovosh was a genuine as he appeared.
***
Within fludic space the herd approached, hundreds then thousands of the vast creatures appeared from every corner of fluidic space. They streamed around, streaking past one another. Youngsters the size of buses whized in and out of the slower, older behmoths.
The elders the largest and oldest of their kind paddled lazily over to the stationary figure of Shovosh.
==Shovosh - we have come to your call. What is it you want young one? None but us can call a summoning. You best explain== Suman asked,

"I do not accept your apologies, Romulan," Shovosh spoke forcing his will on Logan," your people killed my entire family in your attempt at power. I will never forgive your people, but I must now think of my own."
Ezdreiana could feel the tension in the room rise immediately as the conversation with Shovosh and Tedak dragged on. Ezdreiana had sense enough to stop them from doing anything that could seriously dampen her attempts at a peaceful resolution.
"Tedak, Shovosh this is not helping," Ezdreiana said looking at both squarely in the eyes.
"I will gladly sign a treaty between our people, " he continued, smiling gently, "and I will make certain my people will uphold our end of this treaty. Too many lives have already been lost, on each side. Let's work together to saving lives instead."
"As will I, but I must convince some of the older Alterians who have not forgotten what the Romulans did to us," Shovosh said finally revealing that things could still go very badly. It was at that time did he realize that it was time to speak to his people. To convince them that it was time to be free once again.
"We will depart," Logan said," we will convince my people to choose peace." In a flash Shovosh transported himself and Jack into fluidic space. Jack immediately experienced fear of what he was seeing, but Shovosh calmed him down.
...You will be safe, Jack Logan, stand beside me and you will be safe...
Jack didn't understand at first until he saw immense creatures approach them. He wanted to run away and hide somewhere but he knew that it would be impossible.
The elders the largest and oldest of their kind paddled lazily over to the stationary figure of Shovosh.
==Shovosh - we have come to your call. What is it you want young one? None but us can call a summoning. You best explain== Suman asked,
...It is my right as the son of the last king of the Alterian Empire... Shovosh responded.
==We no longer have a king and so your place of power is not recognized and how dare you bring another being into our space. You know our laws.== Suman explained
...Suman there is no need to tell me of our laws, but this one has lived in our space for two hundred years. His name is Jack Logan, a member of the United Federation of Planets...
==We welcome you Jack Logan, you are a most complex mind. You have taught us much== Suman said getting closer to Jack. Jack was surprisingly comfortable in the elders presence, like it was second nature. ==Don't try to speak with you mouth, we speak with our minds==
~How is it possible?~
...We took your body and made it like our own. We found that you could not sustain this form in fluidic space for long, but you were able to communicate with us. You warned us of the Romulans, but we didn't listen. It was because of you that some of us survived... Shovosh said.
~I vaguely remember~ Jack responded.
...We will explain later, but I have called everyone hear because we have a chance to leave this place. The rift has opened and I have secured help from the Federation. The only requirement is that we promise to not attack the Romulans....
==We have a right to destroy those killed so many of us. Your father, our last king, included. How can you want to not destroy them?== Suman questioned.
...If we don't leave this place, we will die. Ezdreiana, a Federation Ambassador, has proposed a peace treaty between themselves, Romulans, and the Alterian Empire. They view us a people, Suman, they have promised to aid us. We should accept there offer....
==Young one, we have not known normal space for millennia. Our home world by now is most likely occupied. Where would go?== Suman questioned
...That doesn't matter, we will be able to live like we used to. We would be able to reproduce in numbers. We could be a race again. A little bit of doubt shouldn't stop us...
==You speak wisdom, Shovosh, but we will let our people decide== Suman said.

The vast heard of Brenet turned inwards to debate the issue. An hour passed and then another before finally a consensus was reached.
Suman paddled over to Shovosh,
== We are of one mind. We elders remember the old space we remember its pleasures and wish to return. But our young... they are the Alteran Empire, they no nothing but this fluidic space. It is wrong to force one or the other on any of us. It is decided those that wish to leave may and thos that dont can stay. It will be a sad seperation but what is right. We also insist this rift is sealed behind us. ==
Suman swam around Shovosh,
==Tell this to the little shelled ones, tell them we will live in peace, the galaxy is vast, they will never see us again==
TAG Logan/Shovosh
OOC - Okay this sort of starts to wrap this mission, we just need the final piece of the alliance, then the Brenet can emerge - but what will Rekak do???

...Suman, the Alterians are nothing without the wisdom of the old. Most of us may not know the space beyond fludic space. I know that most if not all will choose to join you. We will travel along side the old and will usher in a new age for the Brenet...
==Then let it be, we will travel once again throughout the stars. Shovosh, go and speak to the Federation and the Romulans==
The instant that Suman had said it, Jack and Shovosh once again found themselves on the Federation starship. There arrival took everyone by surprise, but they soon were getting down to buisness.
"Ambassadors, Admiral Lin my people have agreed with your request," Jack said," we will sign the treaty."

The Romulan ambassador sighed with relief. "That is good to hear," he spoke up, "and I am truly relieved that we have resolved this issue without needless bloodshed."
Then he peered out the nearest window, knowing Rekak's ship was somewhere out there. "There is just that commander out there that needs to be convinced," he sighed. He gazed at his collegues, then at Logan/Shovosh and Magellan. "If you gentleman..and lady, would please excuse me...I will inform my kindred of the goals we have achieved here."
Tedak excused himself to find a private terminal and contacted Rekak. "We have reached an agreement," he informed him, "the rift shall be closed after those who wish to leave have left it. They will depart from this quadrant and set up colony far away from the Romulan Empire. However they will not take kindly on an attack and they will retalliate when fired upon. I strongly urge you to refrain from taking rash actions, as you will cause the demise of the Romulan Empire if you do so. We have negotiated a peace, and them leaving is part of the agreement."
The Romulan commander stared at the Ambassador a moment. "This is a major risk you are asking me to take. If your wrong the effect will be incredible. The simplest option is simple to seal tyhe rift and deal with the Brenet as and when come out in ones and twos. This goes beyond my orders, change them and I ll do what is required otherwise I will oppose all action to open the rift. Rekak out"
The diplomat knew that Relora would be less than pleased when hearing the result of the negotiations, but he also knew she'd abide by it. He steeled himself for her reaction when he contacted her and told her the same he'd told Rekak. "I believe we should take them on their word," he concluded, "they seem a rational and extremely intelligent species. To thwart them would be extremely foolish."
Relora sat and listened to Tedak, "Your instructions were not to broker any kind of deal. Such negoiations should have senate approval." she paused and sighed, "Luckily this deal could save Romulan lives. I ve already recieved a request from Rekak for guidance. Its a major risk, but your on the frontline with this and so will suffer first if you are wrong. The senate" she spat the word "Has decided that a deal is in our best interests, I have already commanded Rekak to withdraw, by the time your finish this conversation he will be gone. At least if the Brenet renege and attack it will be the Federation who will suffer. I wish you luck Ambassador, I hope your negotiation skills are up to scratch. Relora out"

Slowly the rift continued to widen, within the hour the smallest of the Brenet were beginning to emerge, slowly and cautiously at first and then with greater courage.
Magellan stood on the Bridge of the Galaxy beside Voran, nervously he watched the tactical display for any sign of duplicity from the space dwellers. Logan stood at the head of the bridge staring out through the viewscreen as one by one half of his race emerged.
"Signal the Lonewolf and Sabres to back off they need more space" Magellan suggested, The size of the Brenet was breathtaking and it became apparent that even the Galaxy would need to move further from the rift to allow the thousands of Brenet to fully emerge.
They swam around each other like a school of fish, weaving and turning, each relishing the return to their ancestral home. 2 hours passed before the last Brenet left and the rift began oncemore to close, perhaps for another 100 years.
Suman the last to emerge paddled to the fore of the group and signalled to Shovosh,
==Thank the shelled ones little one and join us once more - we depart==
As one the Brenet turned and began to move off deep into the nebula

"Congratulations Ambasadors on a first class first contact" Magellan applauded, "Have all ships make ready for a return to base."
TAG All - round ups.

The stars streaked by the big windows in Ten Forward as the USS Galaxy headed for home, Starbase Assailant. At a table, a group of officers, young and old, were gathered round their Captain, listening intently to his story.
"So there we are, all gathered around, waiting in the morning sun, almost silently as the countdown came over the speakers. As the announcer approached zero, a huge roaring sound blasted across the crowd..."
"The engines igniting?" Gueesed a Lieutenant Commander.
"No," said Voran, "Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf."
"What's a Steppenwolf?" Asked a young ensign, looking puzzled.
"They were a band, from Earth in the 1960s." Said Voran, "Cochrane blasted it over the loudspeakers as they took off, apparently, it gave the mission control technician quite an earache. Then, of course, the Phoenix blasted off and...the rest is history."
There were some oohs and aahs, some chuckles and even a smattering of applause.
The story over, the crowd scattered, leaving Voran with Commander Tol.
"That's a good one." Said Tol.
"Have I told it before?"
"Back in the old days, you told it once or twice." Said Tol with a smile."
"Ah, well some of these young'uns won't have heard it then. Anyway, you think that's a good story, you should hear Will Riker tell it."
"Will Riker? But how..." Said Tol, looking confused.
"Ah, well that's a story for another day."
OOC: Anyone can come in here if they want, just thought I'd do a fun little post.

He saw them come from there prison knowing that many were afraid of what they would see, but after a few moments of freedom they were alright.
...Logan of the Federation, we thank you for helping us. We both know that your time in the rift has permantely changed you. You are no longer just a human, but part of us. To keep you alive we had to input some Brenet DNA into your body. One day Logan you will join us, but for now we must depart...
It had only been a couple of minutes ago that Jack and Shovosh had signed the peace treaty. With Tedak's and Ezdreiana's signature the peace treaty had been made official. Which meant that there would not be any hostilities between the three powers.
If that hadn't been enough for him, Jack had just discovered that he no longer was all human. As he thought about it, he realized that it wasn't that disturbing. Jack looked at the bridge crew of the Galaxy. He saw his old friend, Shawn and realized what he had to do.
"Captain, thanks for rescuing me," Jack said as he saluted his best friend.

"It was the least I could do Jack," said Voran, "thank you for...being alive."
Voran shook Logan's hand and both men smiled.
