Mission 3.5 - A Question of Determination SynopsisIts election time on Starbase Assailant and incumbent Mayor Drolem Simeth is up for re-election, but who will be brave enough to stand against him. Elsewhere the discovery of the terminus of the sub space corridor leads initially to new horizons but subsequently a dire threat. DetailA-Plot - The Election of a new Mayor. This invloves Simon Tomlinson, Drolem Simeth (NPC) and Hishar (NPC). Captain Savali asked to investigate irregularities in the running of the starbase and any mis-behaviour during the Election B-plot - A number of intriguing refugees arriving at the station - diplomatic staff need to sort out where they can live and why they are fleeing. (Invloves set up for next season) There are several other strands that involve Magellan, Tedak and Mercy that will all interweave with these two plots that will culminate in a double whammy cliffhanger.... I hope LOL. Those not mentioned - Loskene, Voran and T'Val should be able to fit into some of the storylines as they develop. I m gonna post a scene setting prologue on this thread over next few days that will cover the time between end of last mission and the next one - it will also allow you guys to have a break LOL

Maxon stretched out the tired crick in his neck and ran a hand wearily though his mane of hair. He rubbed hard at his pale temples forcing back the tension he felt in his eyes and lethargically ran a quick glance over the console. Oxygen levels - ok Carbon Dioxide - acceptable Internal Temperature - 28 degrees Dome Pressure - fine. The chronometer read 2300hrs. Another hour until Salan was due to relieve him. An hour until he could sleep. Maxon stretched his legs and headed to the domes edge. The viewport revealed the harsh and deadly environment outside. Thick vapourous clouds ran like low clinging mist along the dusty ground. In the distance vast volcanoes spewed out tonnes of ash and lava. He held up his hand to the glass - it was cool, despite the searing temperatures on the otherside. Why the small colony had to be built here, a place the Alphies called a demon class planet was beyond him. He understood the desire to remain hidden, he himself was on the run from his past, but here. Surely there were better planets in the Alpha Quadrant than here. The console bleeped, and then again and again. He hurried back over - fearing a hull breach. But it was a proximity alarm several alarms. Quickly he sounded the alarm. It took less than a minute for Jolant to appear he too was rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He dashed over to the Talaxians side. "Whats happening?" "Proximity alerts 4 ships have arrived in orbit" "Vaadwaur, Turei?" "Unknown" Maxon shrugged, " I ve seen nothing like them." Let me have a look the Cardassian asked brusquely, pushing him aside. "Oh my..." Jolant whispered to himself, "Sound the evac alarm. We have to leave we have to leave right now." "But who are they?" "Just do it. Do it I say, we need to get out fast" *** The precinct below the Tal Shiar building on Romulus was still scarred by the Reman Uprising but Relora believed that once the monuments were rebuilt, that particular episode in history would be over. Praetor Shinzon had all but destroyed the Empire leaving it weak and fractured. They had needed Federation help to stop him and had relied on their aid to rebuild. That had split the senate and created rogue elements that did as they willed, some of course as the Tal Shiar willed. The unforseen problem was the new generation of Romulans now appearing, ones at ease with their oldest enemies. Major Relora sank back into her chair and re read Rekaks report. A favourable outcome but some matters still disturbed her. "Do you agree?" Santek asked for the second time his broad bushy eyebrow rasied accusingly. Relora disliked being put on the spot, and held out as long as she felt able. Just to spite the man. "As it happens I do. It was a a bending of the orders I gave." "Then you apporve of our offices plans?" "You need neither my approval or opinion on the plan" Relora scowled, Santek shook his head in disappointment, "Your my daughter, your opinion always matters to me" Relora bit back the cynical laugh, where was this concern when he had divorced her mother, or taken up with that orion woman, or sold her speeder. "Of course Father, your right. he does need dealing with and I agree with your method." "Thankyou dear. I just wanted to ensure the Tal Shiar wouldnt interfere" "With you daddy dearest" she smiled sweetly, "A popular senator." "Especially with a popular Senator" Santek sighed as he left the sparse office. *** The hard relenting rock gave way to a soft and spongy surface in which Magellans feet began to sink into. He bent and examined the surface. Soft green moss ran as far as the eye could see before him. The plain was a vision of green. Up the steep slope across from him, where the moss was unable to gain purchase were bright orange lichens dotted like paint spots across the grey rock. "Impressive" Magellan noted to Ji'Zhan at his side. "Another year and we'll be able to plant crops" Ji'Zhan noted, "Or so Dr Sharex informs me." Qualinost was becoming a verdant paradise, a far cry from the lifeless planet it had been barely 3 years ago. Project Gaia was undoubtedly a success and far more uncorruptible than Genesis had ever been. "And the Debrune and Takarans are integrating well?" Ji'Zhan nodded, "We are uniting as one... we even have some federation colonists taking up pitches. Once the upper city is finished we'll have a capacity for 20,000 inhabitants." "I think we would get a good view from over there" Magellan noted pointing to crest of rocks before them. Ji'Zhan nodded an ascent and hoisted his robes to begin the climb up the narrow track that wound up the rocky slope. As they got higher and higher they could see more and more of the plain. In the distance loomed the two new towers that marked the entrance to the Debrune Underground city and the centre of the new city that was being built on Qualinosts surface. On the last and steepest stretch the ground became rougher and more like scree. It was like walking on marbles and as Magellan decided not to go any further his last footstep failed to gain a hold and he slipped. He hit the ground with a thud and in a cloud of dust began to slide rapidly in tumbling heap down the 30ft incline.

James strolled around the station with his daughter. After leaving the Tiger Shark, and saying goodbye to admiral Keztrek, James and Antoinette had taken up residence on the huge starbase. It was very different compared to leaving on a starship but it wasn't as stressful. It was surprisingly quiet on the station's promenade and James could clearly hear the tapping of his cane. His leg had been so badly damaged that Doctor Franklin had regretfully informed him that he'd always need a cane for walking, especially if he wished to increase his mobility.
Now that they lived on the station, James thought about picking up his profession as counselor again. Despite Keztrek's recommendation to see a base counselor about his adventures with the Tiger Shark, James didn't feel he needed one anymore. Now that he was away from the ship, and away from the responsebilities of a first officer, he started feeling beter real quick. Yet he couldn't set up office without the base commander's permission.
"Computer, locate Admiral Magellan Lin."
=^= Admiral Lin is not aboard the station =^= a surprisingly female voice responded, and to James' utter surprise, she gave her own opinion. =^= Perhaps you would like to see Rear Admiral Loskene in his stead?=^=
"Uhh, if that is his replacement, then yes please."
=^= Rear Admiral Loskene can be found in his office at OPS level =^=
James shook his head in astonishment, then gazed down at his daughter. "I guess that's where we're going then?"
"Ooooh," Toni replied excitedly, "I finally get to see a base OPS?" She clapped her hands in excitement as she darted around her father. For a fourteen year old, her reactions sometimes were rather child-like, but James didn't mind. He knew she'd act her age when she needed to, and more.
James nodded in response as they walked along. Not before long they entered OPS. "I'm looking for Loskene," he announced, and when a junior crewman pointed in the direction of the admiral's office, James had to pull Toni along as she started to wander off. "Not now," he admonished her, "when we're done talking."
They entered the office and James introduced himself. "I'd like permission to set up office on this base," he continued, "but I'll be happy to work with any senior counselors that may already reside on this base."

I hadnt intended this to become a mission thread - just background for next mission - but I suppose theres no reason why people can't post here to explain where they are at - especially those not directly involved in the last mission such as

Off: A joint post by Cmdr. Tiffani Rylka and Captain Felix Savali.
Felix was at the docking bay waiting for Tiffani to arrive. After a lot of thinking it was decided the best thing for them right now is to get a divorce. This was not working out as they thought it would and the love, he was not sure it was love at all now. It may have been just infatuation. But whatever it was it is gone now and... He was not ready to remain married without it. There would be time for that when he was older, but now he needed more.
Tiffani was holding Amilea's hand as the exited the shuttle and had made their way through the docking bay, she had known this day was coming, things just hadn't been the same sense they went their separate ways, as she exited the docking bay, she looked around, spotting Felix, she smiled as Amilea ran up to him and hugged him. *Hello Felix* said Tiffani as she got closer to them.
When the little girl ran up to him he felt much better right away. "And how has little Amilea been", he asked, "Good?", he asked as he smiled at her "Tiffani", Felix said to his wife, "My staff at the JAG office has all the papers already prepared, or should I say pads. All they need are our signatures and it will all be over", he said as they started walking out of the bay
Tiffani frowned slightly but decided to keep it as civil as possible *I see* she said *It appears you are in a hurry have you found someone else?* she stopped a moment and looked at him. *I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that, I suppose I’m still upset over it all* she sighed a little *I just had hoped it would have lasted longer, if not for us, for Amilea* she stated.
Well these things were never easy he thought as he listened to Tiffani speak. "No I have not found someone else, but there is no need in stalling if the even t is inevitable.", he said, "And this is a much better solution for both her and us", he said, "What do you think she would learn by observing two parents like us married?", he said as they kept on walking
Tiffani smiled at Amilea, who was walking along side Felix, *I know it's for the better. I suppose I just feel as though I’ve failed in some way. You are right though. it was inevitable *she said as the walked past a few officers on there way to the JAG office* I do want you to have Happiness, and if it isn't with me, then so be it.* She said
"You know I am doing this for you", he said, "I'll mange but I could see you were not happy with me that you needed more, that’s why you engaged in intimate relations with that resident of Oneb", he said as they finally reached the door leading to the JAG office As the door slid open, Felix gestured to Tiffani to enter first
Tiffani's smile turned into a slight frown as he spoke of the Minister. *Felix, you know I apologized for that over and over. It was something i never meant to happen. But you were spending more and more time with work and less time at home. I was growing lonely.* She said as he gestured for her to enter first, she entered followed by Amilea and Felix, she decided not to say much more for the time.
After they entered the office he said nothing more as they approached one of the ensigns, who were sorting some pads on a desk. "Did commander Sarkonis get those papers I asked for", Felix asked the ensign "Yes sir, he is waiting in your office with the papers", the ensign responded "Good, thank you ensign", he said and then turned to Tiffani, "Right through that door down the corridor", he said as he started walking in that direction
Tiffani wondered what Felix had gotten done about custody over Amilea, but decided to wait until they was in the office She made her way down the corridor, and then entered the office that Felix had pointed out *Nice office* was all she said, she smiled down at Amilea who didn't seem to care where they was as long as she had her mommy and daddy.
"Thank you"; he said as they entered the office and were greeted by the Commander. "This is my wife Tiffani"; he said to Sarkonis as he the man extended his hand to Tiffani "Now let us get down to business", he said as all of them sat down
"Now as per your request, I have formed the paperwork for the divorce. Seeing no personal belongings are involved it is all very simple"; he said as he gave a pad to Felix and another to Tiffani "The only issue was the custody of your daughter", Sarkonis said "But as you requested I have wrote it up as partial custody, so she can spend several months with one and several with the other, of course if one of you does not agree, we can discuss it and alter it", the man said
Tiffani nodded in understanding and begin reading over the pad briefly, *understood* she said *however every thing seems to be okay. Felix, do have any objections to it?* She questioned
"No, no objections from me", Felix said "In that case"; Sarkonis said, "If you would just sign both pads", he said giving both of them a light pen When he got the pen Felix signed the pad and after he signed his copy he waited for Tiffani to sign hers so they could switch pads and sign the other one
Tiffani took the pad and then she looked at Amilea to make sure she was behaving before signing the pad. *Here you go* She said as she switched pads with Felix. She then signed that one as well
As they both handed the pads to Sarkonis he transferred the data to the computer. "Now that this is a matter of public record, you are both once again... single", he said as he took the two pads and left the office so that the two could have some privacy "So what now", Felix asked
*Well* she said *I guess we go our separate ways* she looked at Amilea and smiled *You know if you don't have any missions you need to be on, you could go ahead and keep Amilea for now* She said *the victory has a mission to be on soon and I’m not sure how dangerous it will be, suppose to be simple, but you know how well that works out* She said.
"Yes, I do", he said, "Well don't worry i don't have anything plan other than your usual JAG matters, but nothing too serious in those...", he said, "I spend most of my time sitting in the office going through the complaints about someone tricking someone into changing his larger cabin for a smaller one", he said as he smiled a bit
Tiffani smiled and laughed a bit *when will people learn* she said, she looked at Amilea who come running over to where they was setting and climbed up on Felix’s lap *Well, I guess i should get going* She said *The Captain is waiting for me to return so we can finish our mission, and sense I have nothing left to do here* She said. *I might as well get going as soon as possible*
"Don't worry, I’ll keep her safe", Felix said as he kissed Amilea then he set her down on the floor next to him and rose up from his seat, he extended his hand to Tiffani and kissed her on the cheek, "Take care and even we are not married anymore i still do care for you as a friend, so do try to stay out of trouble", he smiled
She rose as he did and accepted his hand in a shake of friendship and smiled slightly as he kissed her on the check. *I know she will be in good hands* She said *I will try* she smirked and then gave him a hug. *Take care of yourself and don't work yourself to hard, Have fun a little *she said as she pulled away and bent down to pick Amilea up and give her a hug and kiss *You be good for Daddy*
"Bye", Felix said as Tiffani went through the door ending one part of his life as she went away...

Moments after Tiffani departed Commander Sarkonis entered the office once again.
"Sorry to bother you sir", he said, "But you have that video conference with the Judge Advocate General in 5 minutes", he reported
"Yea, i know", Felix said, "Ok this is what we're going to do, get me Ms. Lawrence in here", he said
"Right away sir", Sarkonis said as he left the room. Moments later a human female of some 25 years of age entered the office.
"You wanted to see me Felix", the woman asked
Joann Lawrence was one of the civilian advisors for criminal cases at the JAG office on SB Assaillant. She was the best in her field in this sector. She was young, yes, but she had a lot of talent. Felix let the civilian member of the JAG, or as they were officially referred to, advisors, call him by his first name.
"Yes, I need a favor", he said
"Again, she asked? You know one of this days I am going to cash in some of the favors I did for you so far, but go on, tell me what you need.", she said
"Joann, this is Amilea", Felix said pointing to the little girl sitting on a chair near him, "Amilea darling, this is Joann she is going to take care of you while daddy is working", Felix said
"Hey sweetie", Joanna said approaching the little girl. As Joann approached her Amilea extended her hand.
"So young and she is already more polite than her father", Joann said grinning
"Very funny", Felix said
"So what do you want me to do with her"; Joann said as the girl got up from the chair to go with Joann
"Take her to get something to eat, take her to the stations kindergarten to meet some friends...", he said
"You don't know what to do with her, do you?", Joann asked
"Well... something like that, I haven't got too much parenting experience now, do I?", he said
"Well you'll need to learn, but ok, I’ll take care of her for now", Joann said. Then she looked at the girl and said:
"Say bye to daddy, Amilea"
"Bye daddy", Amilea said as she left the room with Joann
After the two left his office Felix activated the switch on his which revealed several monitors built within the wall, they were usually concealed to allow a better use of space but when a video conference was to be held, they were revealed. The federation logo appeared on all 4 monitors with the standard text, incoming transmission, written on all of them. Moments later the images disappeared and revealed the faces of 3 men and 1 woman. 2 of the men were human, the woman was Betazoid and the third man was a Vulcan.
The man on the monitor which was the first starting form the left side spoke first.
"Captain Savali, it is good to see you again, I see the base air is good for you", the man said
"Thank you sir", Felix said
"You are in a video conference with Torval, the high advisor for security issues of the President of the Federation", the man said indicating to the Vulcan male, "Commodore Rita Falcone, special envoy, for security issues, to Starfleet Command", he said indicating the Betazoid female on the second monitor starting from the right side, "And Rear Admiral Benoit Sokal of Starfleet Intelligence.", he said indicating the last Human male who was unknown to Felix

Off: The rest of the above mentioned post to make it look shorter.
"Good to meet you all, sirs", Felix said
Felix looked at the four serious faces observing him from the monitors. He felt a little nervous under their stare. The man who introduced all other was the Judge Advocate General of Starfleet Vice Admiral George Bussalis, once upon a time the best attorney in the Federation if not in the whole quadrant. The man won so many cases that his name was in the Guinness book of records.
"Now Captain, it is time we let you know what this whole thing is about.", Bussalis said, "Admiral Sokal will begin", he finished
"Well Captain as I am sure you are aware several incidents in recent history make Starbase Assaillant appears as a base for all the pirate activity in the sector. We believe several organizations such as the Orion Syndicate and Tammeron Consortium have their regional headquarters on your base.", the admiral began
"Sir, with all do respect, I believe your sources may be wrong, how can it be possible for such underworld organizations to work out of a Federation Starbase", Felix asked
"Well captain, this information comes from a very reliable source, which of course I can not reveal, because if I did and it got out he would be... removed if you know what I mean, anyway let us get back to the task at hand, Commodore Falcone, you may resume", the admiral said
"Thank you admiral", the Betazoid woman said, "Now captain as I am sure you are aware, recently there have been several assassinations and very suspicious accidents take place on that base, these events include an accident killing a Romulan prisoner imprisoned in the brig for kidnapping, several escapes from jail, lockdowns, security personnel loosing memory of what they witnessed before, logs disappearing on who was the last person to visit a prisoner, several bodyguards of federation ambassadors being murdered, a Vampire disease infecting high ranking federation members, people illegally transporting of and on the base... need I go on captain or do you understand what I am trying to say?", the commodore asked
"No i understand your point, security on the base is horrible", Felix said
"Glad you understand what i mean Captain. Mr. Torval you may resume.", the Commodore said
"Thank you Commodore", the Vulcan said, "Captain there are still several issues that require addressing here. The murder of a Federation Ambassador, assassination of the Debrune Elder, Romulans having too much access to our computer systems, Major of the Station being suspected of being an under-boss of the Tammeron Consortium and acting as a double agent by playing the Orion syndicate and the Tammeron Consortium against each other in order to remain in power, not to mention the head of the Federation Embassy, Ambassador Saarok who to say the least has a shady background and has a history of being near each one of the events I have listed.", the Vulcan said, "Admiral Bussalis you may resume", the Vulcan said
"Now Captain, you've had the necessary time to set up the JAG officer, now it is time to resolve the issues we have listed and bring the guilty parties to justice, no matter what their position or rank are. By the decision of the Federation Council all Federation Ambassadors and Ambassadors who represent one of the members of the Federation no longer have diplomatic immunities if they can be connected to one of these cases, I am transmitting the order right now, you will find it in your computer after this conversation is over.", the admiral said
"And the Romulan government is cooperating with us on this investigation and is sending one of their investigators to question the Romulans diplomatic staff located on the base. The Klingon high council has decreed that if you discover any bit of evidence implicating one of the diplomatic members, they will be recalled and executed. Now even tough we do not agree with the execution... we have agreed as this is the only way they will allow an investigation into their staff's actions. Also you have free hands to question all Starfleet personnel on the base beginning with Admiral Lin. Now there are some suspicions that Drolem Simeth has him in his fist, that he has something on the Admiral due to which the Admiral ignores the illegal activities which take place on the base, but we do not believe this is true, however be sure to run a thorough check on the admiral. And also you have been authorized to monitor all base communications starting from the admirals calls to those calls made by Drolem Simeth and other members of the civilian community.", the admiral said
"Captain we have our faith that you will find the guilty parties for all these events and bring them to justice and also put a stop to any future such events. If you are unable to do this, you will no longer be the JAG Sector officer, is this clear.", the admiral said
"Perfectly sir", Felix said
"Good in that case, I hope to soon here the reports about Assaillant being one of our most secure Starbases out there. This conversation is now over. Good bye and good luck to you Captain.", the admiral said as all the screens went black…

"Mommy?" 3-year old D'Beren called, while jumping on the bed, trying to wake his mother. He had been awake when he'd heard her come home the previous night but she'd failed to come and check on him. D'Beren knew she was together with that doctor, Stuart, and even though he was still a mere toddler he sensed something was going on.
He was getting really happy feelings from his mother, even more so than before. "Mommy!" he repeated, a little more forcefully. She'd missed her alarm only minutes earlier and usually she never missed an alarm. He flopped down beside her on the bed and shook her with all his might.
Startled, T'Val sat up and gazed at her son, then she smiled and pulled the boy into a hug. It was something reserved for at home, which D'Beren was finally starting to understand. "I'm hungry," D'Beren prompted her, "you slept in."
The Vulcan gazed sideways at the chronometer and to her utter amazement discovered he was right. Her train of thoughts was disrupted by the chime going off, and D'Beren hopped off the bed and raced towards the door. "It's the doctor!" he cried over his shoulder, giggling as he let Mercy in. "Mommy's still asleep," he offered.
T'Val stepped out of bed and reached for her robe, only to find it not there...even though it had been there the night before. Then it dawned on her that D'Beren probably had taken it. She scowled under her breath as she waded barefeet towards her bathroom. "I will be right there," she called, not wanting him to see her like this. It felt odd, because he had most certainly seen her with even less on than her night gown. "Oh whatever," she murmured and redirected her course towards the living room.
"Give me my robe back you scoundrel," she chided her son, who ran off with the offending item. She sighed. "It is like this every morning," she told Mercy as she walked up to him. "What shall I do about it?"

After all of the screens went black, Felix hit that same switch again and the screens slipped back into their concealed places. This was one hell of a test for the screens that was certain. He did not appreciate the JAG general dropping all the responsibility to stop the illegal activities being conducted on the base and to find out who was responsible for the assassinations which took place months ago. That was most certainly an impossible mission for him. Hoe was he going to find any evidence about that? Even if there was any visual or sensor evidence they could've been erased and people could claim it was routine maintenance to clear up some space in the computer core.
But something had to be done, so first thing he could do was pressure the people suspected of working with the pirates and the mob an to hope they will make a mistake while he was around to see it. He pressed a button on his desk and called:
"Cmdr. Sarkonis, get in here right away", and he released the button
Moments later Sarkonis showed up in his office.
"I've just had a most distressing conversation with the Judge Advocate General and several other high ranking officials in charge of Security within Starfleet...", Felix began and informed his right hand of everything he learned from the conference
"Now, here is what we'll do", Felix said
"Take this warrant that allows us to investigate the Federation Embassy and contact base security", Felix started, "Then you and several of their agents go to the embassy and turn it upside down if you have to, confiscate any record that have any at all connection with any of the mentioned events. Look everywhere in personal logs, private data... I mean everywhere.", he resumed, "This will allow you access to all their files, and if anyone objects... arrest him for impeding a JAG investigation", Felix said
"Understood", Sarkonis said
"Then contact civilian security and ask them to pay a visit to Major Drolem Simeth", he said, "Take this", he gave Sarkonis a pad, "This will allow them to search Simeth's private and public office for any information relating to his involvement with the Orion Syndicate and The Tammeron Consortium"
"Yes, sir", Sarkonis said taking the second pad
"Then take this third pad", he said giving his assistant another pad, "And give it to the SFI office on base. And they will initiate a bug on all incoming and outgoing communications of all residents of Starbase Assaillant. Any communication logs of suspicious conversations will then be sent to us.", Felix said
"Understood"; the man said
"Then send a few men to monitor the Romulan embassy, and tell them to pick up anyone, who comes out of there but does not hold diplomatic immunity, and bring them in for questioning", Felix said
"Understood, sir", Sarkonis said, "Anything else?", he asked
"Nothing more, thank you Cmdr.", Felix said as Sarkonis nodded and left Felix's office

"Give me my robe back you scoundrel," she chided her son, who ran off with the offending item. She sighed. "It is like this every morning," she told Mercy as she walked up to him. "What shall I do about it?"
She was a beautiful sight for sore eyes. Stuart could get used to seeing this image every morning, dressed in a nightgown or....the thought brought a big smile to his face as he wrapped his arms around her.
"First, how about a 'good morning' kiss!"
He embraced her as she closed her eyes awaiting that kiss. Her lips parted as he reached them, entwining the two in a loving kiss that caused D'Beren to immediately halt where he was and just stare. When they parted, they both looked over at D'Beren. Stuart turned his attention back to T'val.
"Have you told him?"
She slightly nodded her head 'no', and D'Beren became animated by gleefully jumping up and down while yelling at the top of his lungs.
"Tell me what?! Tell me what?!"
Both Stuart and T'Val smiled at his exuberance. Stuart took both T'val's and D'Beren's hands so they could all sit on the sofa for what he wanted to say.
"Calm down D'Beren, I'll tell you. Now you know that your mother and I are very fond of each other. With that I mean we like each other very much."
"You mean you love my mommy, and she loves you too."
Stuart was surprised to realize that D'Beren had been understanding a lot more than what Stuart gave him credit for. This wasn't your average human child, of course not, he was a Debrune.
"Yes, we love each other. While your mother and I were away, I have asked her to marry me."
D'Beren interupted again.
"You mean you two will stay together for always?"
Stuart could only smile while looking back at T'Val.
"Yes...that is the plan. Of course that means with you too. What do you think?"
D'Beren began jumping up and down once more, and while still clutching T'Val's robe he bagan twirling it while running around the quarters.
"Yippee! You make my mommy happy, and what makes my mommy happy makes me happy...yay!"
Yade, T'Val's firelizard, began screeching and fluttering her wings as well.
T'Val looked at Stuart.
"That was nicely done, thank you."
She reached over and gave him another kiss.
"I did say 'first', now comes second to your earlier question about what to do with his early morning tyrades. Well, I think we should be requisitioning family quarters so that you don't have to expereince this by yourself anymore."
"Oh yes, that would be lovely. We'll have to announce our engagement to Admiral Lin so that he can give us his blessing for the quartermaster."
She placed both of her arms onto his shoulders and intertwined her hands behind Stuart's neck. With her face close to his, she started to tease him a bit.
"Was there anything else on your mind?"
Stuart caught the underlying question, but he indeed did have one more thing on his mind besides this invitation.
"Actually, yes. you are probably aware of the human tradition of a couple wearing enagement rings. I was thinking that we could go shopping for a set. Of course, we can delay that part for a little while..."
T'Val quickly kissed him and rose to get to her bedroom.
"Nope, we have plenty to do for today, and besides..."
She looked in the direction of D'Beren who had disappeared into his room.
"...he's up and we'd have no privacy."

"Starfleet Security, everyone stop what you are doing", Saarok heard those words as he was going over the recent reports in his office, and surely enough several moments later the door of his office sprung open with two officers in a yellow uniform and one in a white one entered.
"Ambassador Saarok of Vulcan", the man asked
"Yes"; Saarok said
"We have a warrant to seize any files and records relating to...", and the man quoted all the events listed in the warrant, "We also have an order from the Federation Council suspending immunity of all federation diplomatic staff on the base and allowing us to interrogate and detain them if they have any relation with the listed events", the man in the white uniform said
"Do what you must, commander", Saarok said as he stepped out of his office and signaled the diplomatic security officers to follow him out
This was, peculiar. They must have been very secretive regarding the information of this investigation as not one of his contacts mentioned anything about a raid to be conducted and their diplomatic immunity suspended. But he was sure there was nothing incriminating to be found inside, perhaps ambassador Tedak knows something about this, Saarok thought as he left the embassy. There was nothing he could do there now anyway.
He boarded the nearest turbolift with Aeris hovering, a bit annoyed, around him. The other firelizard was in the embassy to inform him if anything out of the ordinary occurs during the raid. After a shorter ride on the lift he exited and found him self in front of the Romulan embassy. He noticed some security officers pretending to be reading a pad standing near by and grabbing a civilian who went out of the embassy. This is... unexpected he thought, as he made way past them and entered the embassy. Perhaps Tedak would be reasonable and work with him on getting to the bottom of what was happening.
After he finally made way to the office of the Ambassador, he chimed the bell. When he heard the permission to enter, he signaled his guards to stay outside as he went inside.
"Ah, ambassador Tedak.", he said, "It is a pleasure to see you again", Saarok said as he entered the man's office

"Ah Ambassador Tedak, it is a pleasure to see you again." Tedak didn't bother to look up when he recognized his visitor's voice.
"Is it?" he replied, as he glared at the security guards that were going through his belongings and files. "I am in no mood for visitors, and if you have anything to do with these guards going through my files then I'll have nothing further to do with you."
This time he looked around and glared at the Vulcan. "I haven't forgotten what you've done to me," he spat, then moved to pull a guard away from a few very personal files. "Those are personal, keep your hands off them."
The guard roughly pushed him away and snapped something about orders and arresting those who resisted. Tedak stepped back and sighed. "Very well but if you damage anything..." He turned back to Saarok. "Well?"
"They are searching my office as well," Saarok replied calmly, "our diplomatic immunity is revoked."
"I know that!" the Romulan spat back, "lets find Ezdreiana, perhaps she's faring better. After all the both of us aren't the most...trustworthy it seems. They always seem out for us anyway." He cast a final glare at the guards, told Sev to remain where he was and defend any personal belongings should they threated to become damaged and beckoned Nut to follow him.
"You still owe me an apology," Tedak finally spoke up as they walked down to the Trill's office, "you have deeply hurt me, and you could've killed me."
They finally approached Ezreiana's office, only to notice that hers was being ransacked as well. "Problem ambassador?" the Romulan querried, wondering why her office was being searched. "Perhaps we should locate one of the senior staff and demand an explanation?"

"Would I ever do anything that would seriously harm you?", Saarok posed a rhetorical question, "Naturally, I would not, and there was never any real danger, at least not any risk of permanent danger", he said
<Tedak>
"As for this sudden investigation, I have no knowledge of it at all, first time i learned about it was when they arrived to my office with a warrant to search my files. I had no warning that it would occur otherwise i would have informed you.", Saarok said
<Tedak>
"As for that apology, I apologize for... doing the thing that was logical to do at the time", he said

Felix was still in his office when the first of the many reports came in. Apparently Ambassador Saarok paid a visit to the Romulan embassy and afterwards he and Ambassador Tedak went to visit the third Ambassador Ezdreiana.
"It is all very interesting.", Felix said, "However this does not prove anything, we need some material evidence in the form of files and/or sensor data.", he said
"Once admiral Lin is back on the station we will give him the warrant to turn over any and all sensor records from the time of the before mentioned incidents", one of the JAG members said
"Good, that may help us, if not to identify the guilty ones than at least to give us reasonable doubt on which we can base the arrest warrants.", Felix said
"Well so far no one has done anything in the way of resisting, that means they are not afraid that we might find something incriminating", the JAG officer said
"Indeed, I did not expect to find anything, just to rattle the cage a bit with this, perhaps one of them will get nervous and make a mistake we can exploit to pressure him into turning in some evidence about the others.", Felix said
"I hope this works because so far there is nothing from the SFI communication monitoring unit, no one has made any suspicious calls so far", the JAG officer said
"Well they wouldn't make any calls, would they", Felix said, "We have only just began with the search, give them time, they will inform those who are paying them of this, I am sure of that, and then we'll make them turn in the others and have ourselves a nice little mob group behind a force field", Felix said
"Indeed sir, which would be a most enjoyable result", the JAG officer responded as he left the Captain's office

Leaning back in his chair, Tomlinson was reading through a short report he had just received detailing the results of a mission he had ordered to investigate claims of pirate activity in the Tania Borealis System. It had come back negative with a few small notes about the possibility of the original claims being a distraction for some larger they had heard rumours of. However, with the rest of his desk empty of reports, the South African could do nothing other than file this theory away for later reference.
He swivelled in the seat and glanced over a few screens that showed images from across the starbase. His office, which was just next to that of the base’s security chief, Sharon Vanetti shared many of the same features as his old one. The only real difference in fact was that the fleet intelligence office was slightly larger on account of it being the only one he held, while the numerous security centres across the starbase all had a small office for use of the security chief.
He yawned slightly and glanced down at the time displayed on screen; counting the hours until the end of his shift. The young officer was just reaching over to pick up another PADD when his aide stepped in through the door.
“Sir, JAG are searching all records and offices on the station. They have contacted intelligence about monitoring all transmissions and have revoked diplomatic immunity from everyone on the station. They are using the civilian security forces to do their work rather than Starfleet’s. I don’t know what they are doing sir, but it would seem they don’t trust anyone right now.” “Thank you for informing me James.”
He wondered what this could mean. For JAG to initiate such a wide and open investigation was unusual, and indicated that they almost certainly knew what was going on already. He shrugged slightly and wondered how long it would be before they got to his office. Certainly, being fleet intelligence officer, he could perhaps delay them for at least a few hours and demand that only those with a relevant clearance could search. Hopefully though he would not need to resort to anything official; JAG were usually very understanding. Indeed, he realised that paying Captain Savali a visit might be prudent.
Standing to leave, Tomlinson paused as his screen bleeped twice. His gaze swung around at it and read the call information. Almost instantly he was seated again, and the call activated.
“Jess, how are you doing?” He said with a wide smile, greeting his sister warmly. “Well thank you. You’re looking pretty good yourself.” “I get by, I get by.” He grinned again uncontrollably. It had been a couple of years since he had last spoken to his younger sister, not since she had joined the Central Bureau of Penology. “What can I do for you sis?” “Its what I can do for you that is more important. I trust that you are still based on Assailant?” “I am…” He replied, interested now. “A few days ago I visited Penal Colony 127 as part of a report I am writing. During that time I came into contact with a number of, well, criminals. But while they didn’t tell me much that helped my report, I heard whispers and rumours about the mayor there, Drolem Simeth.” She paused, her normally radiant colouring faded to white. “Si, he’s in the pay of the Consortium.”
Tomlinson’s mind raced. If Simeth was in league with the consortium, that could explain the JAG sweep. And of course, if Simeth was connected to them, then who knew who else was, which explained why the search was so wide. He looked back up at the screen, all joviality gone.
“Jess, are you absolutely sure?” “As I say, it only got to me through rumours and gossip, but I think they wanted me to know. From what I gather, it’s thanks to him that some of them are in there, and they don’t want him to get away with it.” “In that case I have a business meeting to make. Thanks for the tip off. I’ll talk to you in a few hours.”
A few minutes later he was sat with two Starfleet security officers in the antechamber outside Simeth’s office.
*** Captain Savali’s Office ***
Sarkonis burst in. “Captain, Commander Tomlinson has taken two guards and is going to arrest Simeth on charges of conspiring with terrorists.” “He can not be allowed to succeed. Make sure that any evidence against the mayor is removed for the time being. We need to get intelligence from the man through observation, not by arresting him. Tomlinson has always been too heavy handed. Find a magistrate that will take the case this afternoon and make sure of his decision. It shouldn’t be too hard.” “Yes sir.”
*** Courtroom 3, later that afternoon ***
Both sides had given their preliminary evidence and been heard, and all eyes now rested on the small figure at the front of the room. Though his head was only just visible above the desk, Magistrate Tarli commanded the utmost respect. He was also well known as a ‘by-the-book’ judiciary. There was a faint murmur of whispering travelling across the room while they waited for the decision to come, but silence reigned as soon as Tarli started to speak. “It is the decision of this court that, based on the preliminary evidence given here today, being August the Ninth of the Earth year 2392, that there is insufficient evidence to take to a full hearing, and that the defendant, the Right Worshipful Drolem Simeth shall be found innocent of all charges brought against him. Session is adjourned.”

Ji'Zhan was looking up for his next hand hold, thinking that the rock face was getting a bit precipitous. ‘What if we get in trouble up here’, he thought.
The day was beautiful; the sky of the once barren planet was a brilliant blue. Ji’Zhan thought back to his simulated sky ceiling at his house in the underground city. ‘Somehow’, he thought, ‘the simulated one still couldn’t get it … even with all that technology’. The birds that had been brought in from other planets were finding their new homes too. The songs they sung were unfamiliar to him. Swatting a pesky insect Ji’Zhan thought, ‘they could have left the bugs out’. But, he knew that they too were just as important to an ecosystem just as the birds were … after all … what the birds would eat if it weren’t for the insects.
Ji’Zhan’s ears heard Lin’s unsuccessful step and instantly turned to look. He reached out for the Admiral, but his hand just grasped at air. The sound from the Admiral was upsetting. The helpless feeling of not being able to alter the situation; the sound stopped with a thud and a deep exhaling breath that sounded nasty.
“Admiral”, Ji’zhan sounded.
“Admiral Lin!!”, Jizhan said even louder.
Nothing came back from the bottom of the incline. Ji’zhan couldn’t see the Admril due to a thick of bushes that he had fallen into. ‘Maybe that broke his fall’, he thought. … … reaching the Admiral after slipping himself and scrapping his arm, he found him lying on his side … facing away. He knelt down. Touching his neck he felt a pulse. With a sigh of relief he called for his office.
After reaching his office … Ji’Zhan said, “This is Elder Ji’Zhan … Admrial Lin has taken a fall and is unconscious. He has a pulse and it is strong but I am afraid to move him. Lock in to my location and transport us to the new medical facility!”
A voice replied back, “Sir, I can’t transport you … that system isn’t on-line right now … its down for calibration.”
Ji’Zhan dropped his head in frustration. Thinking of anything he pulled out his emergency personal transport device and placed it on the Admiral shoulder. Ji’Zhan didn’t know if it would be strong enough for the both of them so he set the location to the medical facility and activated the device.
As he watched Lin dematerialize, he called for Doctor Mercy on the star base.
“Elder Ji’zhan to Doctor Mercy … come in!!” he said franticly.
<Mercy>
“Admiral Lin has taken an 9 meter fall … he is in the planets new medical facility … his pulse is strong however he is unconscious … meet me there!” Ji’zhan informed Mercy
<Mercy>
Ji’zhan called for a transport and was on his way to the new medical facility …

Ezdreiana had been working very diligently in her office. It had been a very busy week with the finalization of the treaty and trying to get some personal issues resolved. She was only half way through when security personal walked into her office and asked her to leave.
She didn't go out quietly and negotiated with them. She would quiet down and let them search for whatever they were looking for as long as she could stay in her own office.
"Gentleman, what are you looking for?" Ezdreiana asked hoping that she could help. The guards just looked at her and went back to work.
"Problem ambassador?" the Romulan querried, wondering why her office was being searched. "Perhaps we should locate one of the senior staff and demand an explanation?"
"Tedak...for some reason I don't think Magellan can do anything about it either," Ezdreiana said handing them the warrant. Before she could do so, they showed her theres. "What do you think this is about? I haven't done anything illegal, the worst thing I have did was steal a piece of fruit when I went to Risa."
Her comment was unexpected, but caused the guards to laugh a bit. Her plan had worked well, and now hopefully they would tell them something.
"As for that apology, I apologize for... doing the thing that was logical to do at the time", he said
"Saarok, your logic was incorrect," Ezdreiana said not wanting to deal with this again," Tedak he apologized, which I know is really hard for Vulcans to do. So please get over it and lets find out what they are doing to our offices."

"yes you would," the romulan retorted angrily, "if it would suit your purposes you most certainly would.
Then the Trill diplomat interjected that now was not a time to argue about it and that he should get over it because the Vulcan had apologized.
Tedak grunted in response, knowing she was right. Yet his trust in his Vulcan friend was damaged and it would take a fair while before it could be regained. "Yes we should go find Magellan and talk to him about this," he agreed, "this is insane. We have diplomatic immunity, they can't just revoke it like that without ground reason can they?"
(saarok/ezdreiana)
"Lily, where is Magellan?"
"Admiral Magellan is currently on Qualinost," Lily replied, not disclosing the information that he was also injured. She knew perfectly well that she wasn't to give more information than was asked for, as the threat from Lin to purge her from the systems still stood. "As I have also suggested to this new counselor fella, perhaps you should go to Admiral Loskene."
Tedak blinked. "counselor fella?" he querried, "this is new. All right, where is Loskene?"
"In his office," Lily replied tartly, "anything else? I was in the middle of a diagnostic."
"Gee," the Romulan scoffed, "aren't we moody today. Very well, thank you Lily." He turned to his fellow diplomats. "Loskene it is, let's go see him about this, shall we? When Magellan returns from his little trip we can always nag him about this. Let's hope this....counselor....leaves us alone...we have enough trouble as it is."

"Yes we should go find Magellan and talk to him about this," he agreed, "this is insane. We have diplomatic immunity, they can't just revoke it like that without ground reason can they?"
"Tedak, there is no need to worry," Ezdreiana said," we haven't done anything wrong, so this will be cleared up quickly. Both of us were busy with the Alterian situation so they cannot pin anything on us if it happened recently."
These words seemed to not sit will with neither of them and as she thought about it it didn't sit well with her either. She knew perfectly well that someone could easily enter one of there offices and plant evidence.
"Lily, where is Magellan?"
Her response was rather blunt and she was sure that Lily was not telling them everything. In the short time that Ezdreiana had known Lily, she had always told her extra information, but this time it was different.
Ezdreiana listened to what Lily was saying and was surprised to hear that they had received a new counselor. Assailant was a big starbase, but the Ambassador's usually knew when a senior staff member came to the station. Ezdreiana didn't like the fact that none of them really knew what was going on. As Ambassador's it was imperative that they knew of the situation.
"Is Lily dangerous if she's moody?" Ezdreiana asked knowing that she had once endangered the entire base.
<Tag Tedak, Saarok>
Ezdreiana was not really worried about the new counselor, she was not afraid to reveal her feelings and the things that she didn't need to know, she wouldn't. Very few people had clearance to know some of her most traumatic events in her life.
The trio soon arrived at Loskene's office and walked in, not bothering to wait for a response. The fact that they were at a lost had become almost unbearable to her.
"Admiral what is going on?" Ezdreiana asked.

The stygian gloom of unconscousness was not entirely lonely. Amidst the dull pain that somehow throbbed within this desolute diembodied ether, aside from the distant indisticnt voices there was he incessant murmour of previous hosts. Toya relived the horror of her death, Gethin recalled accident he had had on khitomer, Bryson the injury of his son and Loran, well Loran was as unusual the loudest. Her memories, her opinons, her thoughts the most vivid and distracting.
A joined Trill was meant to be a happy blend of all their lives, brought into synchrony through the symbiont. The host was not supposed to be able to 'see' personality, identify it, live their life through it but not feel the raw passion and emotion of that person. The psyche of each host was only attainable during Zhian-tara, and even then it was only achievable by those with a near perfect joining.
Magellan was far from a normal host and Lin was definetly not a normal symbiont, their joining was not a perfect one.
"Admiral Lin...Admiral Lin...Can you hear me?"
There was the voice again, calling out to him. It cut through the dark like knife. A slit and then flash... blinding light and pain. The light dissolved into indistinct blurs, patches of light and shadow. Focus returned like someone turning a dial, sharper and sharper.
"Nghh nghh" Magellan spluttered, his mouth like cotton wool and his mind reeling.
"Its alright Sir just lie back. Relax. You ve had a fall. He's awake"
Slowly awareness returned to Magellan and he realised he was in the new medical centre on Qualinost.
"Admiral are you well" Ji'Zhan asked ghosting over from the other side of the room.
"I ve been better" Magellan grunted stretching his limbs, aside from scratches and bumps he seemed whole. A pain in his side suggested that some broken ribs had been healed.
The Doctor, a Tekeran sidled over and ran a tricorder over him. "You seem fine now, any pain any dizziness?"
"Nothing of note" Magellan replied "A slight headache."
"That will pass. Take it easy for awhile and I suggest you get checked out by your own Doctor. Otherwise I see no reason for you to remain."
Magellan nodded a thanks then accepted Ji'zhan arm to rise. His uniform was dusty and torn, he looked a mess.
"Would you like to return to Assailant" Ji'Zhan asked "We can use my shuttle"
Magellan paused and stared at the Vulcan looking man, not entirely sure who he was, then the name came to him through one of the hosts.
"Thankyou Ji'Zhan" he nodded,
As they left he stared at the Doctor, Tekarans really were fascinating species, he wondered what their evoloutionary trail was.

Of all the things that could go wrong, now he has to deal with a Fleet Intelligence officer who’s out to get the major. That was just terrific. And to top it all of he had no evidence at all to hold him. How smart was that. Felix was going to have to have a word with Mr. Tomlinson about what the heck he was doing. If this charade causes Simeth to become extra careful and they found no evidence to take him down, Tomlinson was going down for obstruction of justice.
Felix got up from his seat after he received word that Simeth was released. He was gonna have to go apologize to the man himself in hopes of convincing him it was all one big mistake but first, he was going to pay a visit to Tomlinson and try to knock some sense into him.
"I am going to pay a visit to Cmdr. Tomlinson and afterwards to Major Simeth. If you should need me you know how to contact me", he said to Cmdr. Sarkonis
"Understood sir", Sarkonis said as he returned to logging all the evidence they seized so far from the Federation, Romulan and Klingon Embassies.
After leaving the JAG office, Felix proceeded towards the nearest lift as the office of the Intelligence officer was not on the same deck. Several minutes later he arrived to the door of the office of the Intelligence officer. After chiming the bell, he entered the override code to enter the office without waiting for an answer from Tomlinson.
"What do you think you are doing?", Felix shouted as he entered Tomlinson’s office. On what evidence did you intend to keep Simeth in the brig exactly? If your actions ruin this investigation I will have you thrown in the brig on the charge of obstruction of justice! I do not need some cowboy who thinks he knows something interfering with my investigation!", Felix shouted at Tomlinson who was sitting behind his desk

Tomlinson placed the PADD he had been reading back onto the desk in front of him and looked up at the angry human standing on the other side. “I’m sorry Captain, say that again?” he replied calmly. “You heard what I said.” The JAG officer growled back to him, looming still.
“Let us analyse that statement for a minute. I did not intend to keep our good mayor in the brig without evidence, as I told the court, I can provide witnesses who will attest to his guilt in this matter. Further to that, I did not even intend to place him in the brig. He would have had the option of bail, and I am sure that it would have been met. You can not throw me into the brig for obstruction of justice as I was undertaking a legal procedure through the proper channels, and as I was not informed of the details of your investigation, I had no way of telling that my actions could be obstructing it. I am hardly ‘some cowboy’, as I am the former chief of security of this base, and currently run intelligence for the whole of the first fleet.” He picked the PADD back up but before reading it, glanced back up to his superior. “Oh, and I don’t just think I know something, I do know it, and I will get to the bottom of it too. I would appreciate it if you could ask James to come in as you leave.” He offered the JAG officer a smile and scanned the PADD, looking for where he had been before the interruption.
“Perhaps there was a reason why you were not informed of this investigation as I am sure you have heard of a need to know basis?” Felix said calming down, “If you can provide evidence which we can use to take the mayor down... be my guest in obtaining it. However before you go in there to arrest him next time, inform my office”, Felix said, “And I will be keeping an eye on you and if I see you doing anything illegal at all, Commander, you will end up in the brig.” He said as he left Tomlinson’s office.
The Fleet Intelligence Officer waited until the door had slid closed and then threw his PADD forcefully against the wall. His fists clenched and started to shake uncontrollably. He took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. He shouldn’t have let the JAG officer get to him but he had; the arrogance and assumption with which people like him operated just frustrated him.
By the time his aide entered, the young officer had managed to bring himself under control, and it was with complete calm that he spoke to the yellow shirted aide. “Ensign Franzil, I would appreciate it if you could rouse Lieutenant Commander Qi and brief her on the current situation. Assign someone to keep an eye on the mayor, but I suspect that Captain Savali will have them reassigned as soon as he finds out. I have a list of recommended promotions and citations for the month here, if you could send them on to Admiral Lin at the relevant time.” “And you Commander?” “I have some business to attend to. Talk to Lin’s secretary and have them inform the commanding officer that I request an immediate audience.” “Yes sir.” Franzil replied, and left the office to take care of his tasks.

As T'Val disappeared into her bedroom, Lily's voice came through the room's communication system.
[shadow=purple,left,1000]>/\< Doctor Mercy, I have an incoming distress call from Elder Ji'zhan. It originates from the planet Qualinost. >/\<[/shadow]
"Put it through on my comm badge, Lily."
=/\= Elder Ji’zhan to Doctor Mercy … come in!! =/\=
"Doctor Mercy here. How can I assist you Elder Ji'zhan?"
=/\= Admiral Lin has taken an 9 meter fall … he is in the planets new medical facility … his pulse is strong however he is unconscious … meet me there! =/\=
Stuart knew of the new medical facility as he had helped in it's inception, and he had just toured it before his last mission. He remembered the Tekaran doctor that had been placed in charge there, a competent fellow.
"Elder Ji'zhan, he is in good hands and I thank you for contacting me since I am his personal physician. I shall contact the facilty and check on his condition, that'll determine if my presence is needed. Mercy out!"
"Lily, connect me with the medical facility on Qualinost please."
A few short seconds and Lily had replied that his comm badge was ready for his call.
"This is Doctor Mercy on Starbase Assailant. I've just been informed that Admiral Lin is in your care. What's his condition?"
A gruff, low sounding, voice came through.
=/\= This is Stra. Yes, we have the Admiral here. He is currently stable. He had suffered two broken ribs which I was just in the process of mending, a few cuts and bruises, oh and a slight concussion that has been alleviated. He may still have a headache when he comes to. =/\=
"Sounds like you have everything well in hand. I'll make sure I check him over when he gets back on station. Thanks again, Mercy out."
Stuart tapped his comm badge to close the line. Just then T'Val emerged from her bedroom, dressed in a brown legging style pants with a matching half vest, over a darkbrown shirt.
"Who was that you were talking to?"
"Admiral Lin had taken a fall, down on Qualinost. Elder Ji'zhan was with him and got him transported to the medical facility there. I just checked on him and he will be fine."
T'Val's look of concern turned back to normal once she realized that he was fine.
"I suppose we'll have to wait with that request for family quarters until he returns. That leaves us with your human tradition of seeking out engagement rings. We could do that right after we have some breakfast. Come D'Beren!"
D'Beren came running out of his room and the three of them left in search of a morning meal.

After going out of Tomlinson’s office, Felix was calmer than when he went in. But was still furious with the arrogant little prick who thought his job was more important than anyone else’s on this station. He needed to do something to prevent the man from interfering with his work, but the man was no fool, he'd most likely see through anything Felix thinks up for him. Then he got an idea.
=/\=Savali to Cmdr. Sarkonis=/\=
=/\=Sarkonis here go ahead=/\=
=/\=This is what i want you to do, get 2 Starfleet security officers to follow Simon Tomlinson, no matter where he goes, they go to and make sure he sees them=/\=
=/\=Make sure he sees them, sir?=/\=
=/\=Yes, then contact civilian security and have them assign several people to watch over Tomlinson, give them diplomatic access so that they can access Starfleet restricted areas, and make sure they rotate at random intervals, say every 15 minutes then 32 minutes etc.=/\=
=/\=Yes, sir I think I get what you mean. I'll get on it right away=/\=
=/\=Great, thank you commander, Savali out=/\=
Now that that was done he had to go and see Simeth. After a longer travel to the civilian area, he finally arrived to the office of the Major. After a small chat with the Major's secretary, who Felix met at the restaurant the other day, he was allowed to see the Major.
"Major Simeth", he said, "Allow me to introduce myself, Captain Felix Savali, head of JAG in the sector", he said

"I wonder how he could make such a tumble," T'Val wondered aloud as they wandered, arm in arm, through the corridors towards the promenade, "he is usually very careful and sure-footed."
They stopped in front of one of the many human restaurants as D'Beren promptly pulled them towards it. "I want pancakes," the boy prompted, remembering how his father often treated him to such delicacies, "daddy gets me them all the time."
T'Val looked down at her son, then crossed glances with Mercy. "Would you fancy pancakes?" she querried, looking hopeful. It wasn't her favourite of breakfasts but if they were laden with cheese she could be very fond of them indeed.
"Certainly," Stuart replied cheerfully and led them into the restaurant. "Two adults and one child," he offered the waiter, who was about to ask how many persons were looking for a table. They were led towards a nice small table near the windows, with a clear view on the nebula near the station.
"Ooooh," the three-year old exclaimed, pointing at the glowing nebula, "look at that!"
The adults turned their heads to follow his gaze and smiled. "It looks marvelous," T'Val agreed as they were seated. She gazed back at her fiancé. "Something seems to be amiss on this station, I can just sense it," she prompted, "did you notice how many security officers we passed on our way here? And a lot of unhappy looking senior staff."
