After Jason left the room feeling very happy with himself, the room fell silent. The stench of burnt flesh was in the air. It was a scene from someone’s worse nightmare.
Ji’Zhan began to come to, he felt that he was on the floor, it was cold. His face was flat from it lying for so long on that side. His head was spinning, eyes heavy. At first he couldn’t open his eyes, however when he could they did aid him in finding out where he was. He felt something in is hand and it startled him because it felt like a phaser. When his eyes did start to help him out, they confirmed that it was in fact a Starfleet phaser. Several moments passed before he was able to stand and become aware of his surroundings. But when he did, Ji’Zhan wished he did know his surroundings for three men were on the floor and two were obviously dead. The sight of what phaser fire does to the Humanoid form turned his stomach. The smell didn’t help.
All too soon the reality of what he was holding and the bodies on the floor hit him, ‘it looks like I did this’, Ji’Zhan thought.
He knew he didn’t, for he had no memory of it and even if he was forgetting like a normal Human would, his abilities of mind control would have recorded the event even if he was not aware of his actions. He had no such memories so he knew he didn’t do it. He quickly felt for the recording device that he used to record the dark man’s conversation back in the Jefferies’ Tube. It was still there; somehow he knew he would need this later. He too hoped that Lily would step up and help him with the logged information that he gave her earlier. But if not, would the Debrune people be critically harmed because of this?
One of the injured men began to moan, Ji’Zhan quickly came to aid administering general first aid.
Reaching for the Communication panel Ji’Zhan called, “Ji’Zhan to T’Val”
<T’Val>
“I need help there has been a shooting and one man is still alive.” Ji’Zhan responded
<T’Val>
“No, I don’t know where I’m at, this COMM panel doesn’t have any identification markings.” Ji’Zhan responded.
At that time Ji’Zhan turned to see Security entering the room.

Stuart had made his way back to sickbay only to find that T'Val wasn't around. After questioning a few staff members, including Jill, he had found out that she was called out for an injured tech that was working with Captain Savali.
Stuart continued the preparations of the incoming refugess. He had gotten word that the number the Galaxy had rescued was in the teens. He didn't have the exact count, but went ahead and guesstimated the midway point, fifteen. If there were more, he was sure they would consist of minor injuries anyways that would have been treated by the Galaxy medical personnel.
It wasn't long before T'Val had returned and rushed directly to Stuart. With raised eyebrows, he was quite surprised that she had come from Admiral Lin's office just after he did, he listened intently of her findings.
"I am not certain what is wrong with him," she confessed, "his stress levels are sky-high, and I thought I heard him scream before I entered his office. And to be honest, he looks terrible."
T'Val set her medkit aside and returned to her fiancé, sparing a moment to kiss him. "The best thing for him would be to be relieved of duty," she added, "but I am not certain that this would be the wisest course of action. He is needed to solve this situation, but I am in doubt whether he will be able to deal with the pressure."
Stuart took her tricorder and compared her readings to his. "Interesting! I gave him a shot of isoboramine. His levels had returned to normal when I scanned him directly afterwards. Your scans however show that they have dropped again...and drastically...although not to dangerous levels. Obviously just enough for him to possibly be losing control."
T'Val saw and repeated her thoughts about the Admiral's removal.
"You're right, he is needed to keep things afloat during this mockery of an investigation, but how well can he handle himself?"
Stuart took a moment to lean on a biobed, with chin in one hand and the other arm folded under, he was deep in thought to find a resolution..."I got it!"
"Lily, as Chief Medical Officer I need to be made aware of Admiral Lin's vital signs at all times until you are ordered to terminate by me...authorization code Sigma-Sigma-Mercy-Two-Alpha. Route them to this tricorder. Also, based on parameters that I will be uploading to you, I require for you to erect an automatic forcefield around the Admiral and advise him that he has been relieved of his duties by the Chief Medical Officer, me, as he will be no longer fit for duty when his vitals have reached the said parameters...authorization code Kappa-Eta-Six-Nine-Mercy-Theta."
[shadow=purple,left,300]>/\< Authorization Codes...confirmed. Yes, Doctor Mercy, I shall monitor Admiral Lin as per your request, although I would hate to place that restriction upon him... >/\<[/shadow]
"You have your orders, follow them as per Starfleet regulations."
He turned his attention back to T'val, "There, I hope it doesn't go that far, but a failsafe is in place just in case."

T'Val nodded. "Indeed let us hope not. Not only will such an action not be good for the admiral, but it will not do us any good either. A patient must trust his doctor and such action will not make us trustworthy."
Then Ji'Zhan's voice sounded over the intercom. “Ji’Zhan to T’Val”
"T'Val here, go ahead Elder," the Vulcan responded, after tapping her combadge to acknowledge the page.
“I need help there has been a shooting and one man is still alive.” Ji’Zhan responded.
"Acknowledged. I need to know where you are to beam straight to your location. Can you tell me where you are?"
“No, I don’t know where I’m at, this COMM panel doesn’t have any identification markings.” Ji’Zhan responded.
At that time Ji’Zhan turned to see Security entering the room.
T'Val turned to Mercy. "Well that makes my job much easier," she stated, "I am going to do the best I can to get to you Elder, please bear with me." She tapped her combadge again. "Lily, can you locate Elder Ji'Zhan and beam me straight to his location?"
Lily remained silent for what seemed like minutes then replied. "Affirmative," she answered, "please stand by."
Seconds later, T'Val was beamed to Ji'Zhan's location, only to find security training their phaser rifles on the Debrune official. "What do you think you are doing?" she snapped, striding towards Ji'Zhan who still sat kneeling beside the injured black-clad man. "Do you know who this is?" She turned to Ji'Zhan. "Elder Ji'Zhan, what happened? You look...horrible."
(Ji'Zhan/security)
"This cannot be true," T'Val retorted while examining her patient, "Ji'Zhan will not touch such weapons, ever! He cannot have killed those men, it is impossible. The elder is the most quiet and restrained man that I know." She turned to Ji'Zhan, casting him a questioning glance as if to ask his reassurance. She wanted to believe that he wouldn't resort to murder and that he was being framed, but she had also seen another side of him that she'd rather not have seen.

JiZhan looked up at T'Val happy to see a familiar face. "I think I'm OK, but I do not believe that I fully understand what is happening neither to me or this situation. However, I believe these security guards are thinking that I did this to these men."Ji'Zhan knew that she did have a question about his activity in this matter so he un-noticeably touch T'Val's arm. He tried to picture only the events that had taken place in the past couple of days. Lin's fall and the moment he touch him and felt the presence of many. The logged information he collected and gave to Lily. The conversation he had with the man in the Jeffery's Tube. He only had time to give her the over all information, not many details.
The Guards then approached Ji'Zhan and took his hands, stood him up and proceeded to take him to the brig.<TAG security, Felix, Lin, Lily ... someone help me out here ... >

Sharon received an anonymous message about a phaser discharge and shouting from one the "apartments", as the civilians referred to them, on the habitat level. Considering all that has been happening lately she right away ordered 4 security guards to meet her there armed with phaser riffles fully charged. She excused herself from people who were still running evidence from the Federation embassy and requested a site to site transport to the location.
After she beamed down to the level she already met the 4 guards armed to the teeth. She motioned them to follow to the door and ordered 2 of them to stay on one side while the other two stood in front of the door and she took the other side. She nodded in their direction as she entered the override code into the lock on the door and moved away. As soon as the doors opened the two guards barged into the room and pointed their weapons on Ji'zhan next to whom was a phaser and they immediately saw 3 bodies in the room. Right after them the other two guards barged in and after them Sharon.
"Don't move", one of the guards yelled as they kept the weapon trained on him
A few moments later healer T’Val was transported into the room.
"Step away Healer", Sharon said as the guards kept their weapons on Ji'zhan ready to shoot at the first sign of trouble
"Yelling and phaser fire were reported to have originated from here, and now we come and see 2 dead men and 1 injured in the room with him"; she said, "Not to mention that he is standing next to what appears to be the murder weapon and that there is no one else around", she said
T’Val didn't seem convinced, but that did not matter. They caught him red handed not to mention there was an order for his arrest issued by JAG for assault in the 1st degree, tampering with evidence, impeding a JAG investigation... Sharon informed Healer T’Val that there was a warrant out for Ji'zhan's arrest and cited the reasons for which the warrant was issued as she motioned for one of the guards to confiscate the phaser and the two others to pick up Ji'zhan and take him to the brig.
"You can take him away", she said to the guards that grabbed him, "I will notify JAG and they'll want to interview him straight away. But first I'll see if we can id the murder victims", she said, "You", she said to the man holding the murder weapon or rather the weapon which was suspected to be one, "Have that analyzed for prints and DNA and run it against the suspects", she said
When Ji'zhan was taken away T’Val got back to working on her patient and the last remaining guard and Sharon were trying to id the bodies.
=/\=Lily, run a search through the Starfleet and Civilian databases for a photo match of the people whose image i am transmitting to you now=/\=
Sharon said as she took the holo-camera and took the picture of two of the men. The third one's face was burned badly and was not identifiable.
=/\=There are no matches for the said people in any of the databases=/\=
=/\=How is that possible=/\=, Sharon asked
=/\=Perhaps someone removed them=/\=, Lily offered
=/\=Thank you Lily, have the bodies, transported to sickbay and alert Dr. Mercy to do an autopsy on them and try to identify them=/\=
=/\=Yes, Chief Vanetti=/\=
Lily responded as the bodies dematerialized.

--Meanwhile at the JAG office--
Felix received word that Ji'zhan was apprehended and that he murdered 2 people and attempted to murder the third one. Immediately after receiving the info he hurried out of his office to the brig to interview the Elder. He was not going to let this man disappear like Saarok had. After a longer trip through the base he showed his credentials to the guard at the brig and was let inside. The force field around Ji’zhan’s cell was deactivated and he entered.
"Well Elder Ji'zhan, I received the info you sent through Lily now i need an explanation and also i need you to tell me how did you end up in the room with 2 dead bodies and a third one who was still barely alive", he asked

Ji’Zhan was sitting on the bench in the sparsely accommodated cell, his head in his hand trying to meditate when an Officer entered the room. Ji’Zhan noticed that the man’s rank was that of Captain. The Captain had the force field dropped and then entered the cell and began to speak. Ji’Zhan looked up at the Captain and sighed, “Captain, I’m afraid you know me but I have never met you before.” “My name is Captain Felix Savali, JAG officer for the base.” Savali responded.“Ah, well it’s good to meet you Captain. I’m glad you received the information that I passed on to Lily. I was indeed hoping that she would have given that info to you before now; maybe this could have been avoided.” Ji’Zhan responded. <Felix> Ji’Zhan continued, “The information came to me as I was researching an abduction of Debrune civilians from the planet. I was at my terminal in my office and set up a link to my office here on the station. During that session, my security program notified me of a snoop. I now understand that if was indeed your office monitoring all communications to and from the station. I’m sure your records will show that.” Ji’Zhan took just a slight pause and then continued, “The interesting thing was that my security program picked up a second snoop worm running through my stations system. This snoop originating location was blank. In fact I was surprised that your Starfleet security protocols even allowed such a thing to happen. I mean as a normal daily authentication routine.” Ji’Zhan’s voice was coving for the fact that last comment was meant with spite. “I simply and passively logged the information. Then I received a communication from the station; here let me play it back for you.” Ji’Zhan fumbled around in his garments alarming Felix. Felix stood and reached for his personal phaser. “Ji’Zhan instantly said, “Captain, calm down, it is just a recording device that I have with me at all times. Your fine officers, of course, missed it during their search of me.” Ji’Zhan played the entry ~~~ =/\=Mr. Ji'zhan=/\=, a strange voice called when the channel was open
“This is Elder Ji’Zhan… who is asking?”
=/\=It is of no importance who this is, if you want to find what you are looking for, meet me in the Jeffries tube junction 45-a. And Mr. Ji'zhan, come alone. If I see anybody else i will not show up.=/\=, the voice said as the comm was cut. <Felix> “Indeed I meet him in that junction,” Ji’Zhan mused, “and I have a recording of that too.” Ji’Zhan played the next entry ~~~ "Mr. Ji'zhan, stay right there", said the unseen voice as he entered the junction
"I must warn you mister Ji'zhan, if you decide to proceed on what i tell you here and now, you will be putting your life at a great risk.", he said, "If you wish to proceed i will tell you what i know.", he said
“I can tell by the way you call me ‘mister’ that you have no idea what office I hold. However, that doesn’t matter at this point. I can be very assiduous.” Ji’Zhan replied.
"It is your life you are risking Mr. Ji'zhan, therefore i will tell you. What you are looking for is not far from here. The people responsible hide behind a cover that no one would suspect. They are not what they appear to be, but no one can distinguish them from the rest who are really what they pretend to be. First they took what you are looking for and now they took the federation Ambassador, but they have gone too far this time. They bit of a bite too large. They are no longer protected by that which they still believe to be a part of.", The dark man said, "Have you visited the entertainment section of this base recently? No, it doesn't matter. There are more than 31 people there today. What the federation ambassador once was, they used to be but still believe they are."
Ji’Zhan continued answering the Captain’s question now about the bodies, “I simply went to The Dustcloud Restaurant and found a hidden passage behind a statue, was intercepted and drugged, I think if you do a toxin screen you will find some type of substance that renders one out cold on the floor, just as I saw the Ambassador and the missing people from the planet. The next thing I remember is waking up and seeing the three men in that cold room.” Ji’Zhan was finished with his story. In fact to him there was not doubt in any of the information. <Felix>

"Well, Elder this could not have been avoided even if I wanted to because we have physical evidence of you attacking our senior computer tech while he was trying to access the computer in the Federation Embassy", Felix said after Ji'zhan suggested that his arrest might've been avoided by Lily sending the data earlier
Felix continued listening as Ji'zhan said how a strange man contacted him.
"Let me guess, you met this Deep Throat in the Jeffries tubes junction?", he said before allowing Ji'zhan continue
After Ji'zhan continued, Felix took a few moments to digest all he heard, before replying to the Elder.
"Elder, as unbelievable as this may sound, I believe you are innocent of all these crimes", Felix said
<Tag Ji'zhan>
"But I can not just release you because all evidence points right at you, but i know you are not the guilty one here, just like Ambassador Saarok is not guilty either. But Elder, if you agree to help me out, I’ll help you out", Felix said
"Here is what I am proposing. As you know JAG does not investigate DCS, never has, never will. This is just a tactic to scare some sense into the Ambassadors stationed here as they're getting a bit too much out of hand. I am not interested in them, but they do posses information that could help me find the guilty party. Now who I am really investigating here is the Mayor of this station Drolem Simeth and Admiral Magellan Lin. We have received information that one or both of them are directly involved in everything from the Assassination of Elder Jak'dor, all piracy attacks in the area, possession of stolen goods, running black market stores here on the base, providing housing for the Tammeron Consortium and the Orion Syndicate...", Felix began
"But now i believe there is a third party involved here, and that someone is attempting to eliminate them, either from fear of being exposed or for some other reason. It is believed that either, Admiral Lin or the Mayor, have something to do with this. But let me get to the point, if you assist me with my investigation and perhaps in finding this mystery man of yours... I will provide you with assistance in setting your friend free unharmed and will order for you to be released from the brig right away. However officially the charges will remain and it'll say you were released on bail until the trial. This is because whoever gave you information... wanted to have you take the fall for everything he does in eliminating the unknown third party.", Felix said
"Now Elder, do you accept my offer or decline it? If you decline it, you will stay in the brig and I will let Starfleet Security resume the investigation and/or your possible trial", he said, "It is not something I’d be satisfied to do but I will have to in light of the evidence that were uncovered.", he finished

Ji'zhan definitely was happy to hear the the Captain did think he really committed any crimes, however the evidence around the computer tech did have him concerned. Then it came to him that the mystery man either on purpose or by accident got Ji'Zhan's hair during the encounter in the tubes.
JiZhan pointed out to Felix, "Captain, the evidence you have on me may have been collected during my meeting with this man in the tubes. I believe if you have your team go over junction 45-a you may find something."
<Felix>
After hearing the Capitan's proposal, Ji'Zhan did not see where he had any choice and looked at the Capitan, "I will help you, but I must say that the recording that was taken during the meeting in the tubes should be analyzed as I believe it was full of riddle-like clues."
Ji'Zhan's heart was sadden when the Capitan brought up the Assassination of Elder Jak'dor; he couldn't see how the Capitan's 'third-party' could have committed the murder because of the knowledge of the visions he received from touching one of the attacker's during the assassination event. It still seemed like yesterday to Ji'Zhan, he missed Jak'dor's advice, and he would really love to be able to receive that advice in a time such as this.
JiZhan again was thinking how he could help the Capitan. "I must admit, other than what I have already given you I don't know of anything else I can help you with, however, you must have an idea or you wouldn't be asking me. As far as Admiral Lin goes, I don't see anyway that he could be knowingly involved. I will offer you my Vulcan-like mind abilities if you can get the Admiral to meet with me." Because he knew that the Capitan would ask, "The Debrune have very similar mind abilities as the Vulcan's, however they are a bit different and could aid you in your investigation."

"I do not expect to find anything at the junction because we found no evidence of anyone else being in the room where we found you with the bodies. The person who gave you the information is smart. I do not expect finding and/or capturing him will be easy.", Felix said after Ji'zhan suggested they go over the place where he met with the mystery man
Then again Felix fell silent while Ji'zhan was replying to Felix's question on weather he would or would not aid with the investigation.
"The message will of course be analyzed. As for how you can help me... After i get you released out of here, we will pay a visit to the Mayor as Admiral Lin has barricaded himself inside his office and is not allowing anyone to enter. But the Mayor on the other hand can not permit himself to refuse anyone’s visit as he is in the middle of a campaign.", Felix said
"We will go visit him and see if you can get some answers from him.", Felix said as he called one of the brig guards over and informed him that Ji'zhan is being released
After signing some pads, the guards allowed the two to depart.
<Tag Ji'zhan>
After they arrived to the Mayors office, Felix said hello to the Mayor's secretary and asked to see Simeth right away. After some argument and a promise t buy her dinner, she let Felix and Ji'zhan to see the Mayor.
"Mr. Simeth", Felix began as he and Ji’zhan entered the man's office, "I know you had Hishar beaten up so that he would drop out from the election, however that is not something I am interested in, but I could become interested in it if you do not tell me now what you know about disappearance of Ambassador Saarok and the missing Debrune people whose assets have been seized. And do not try to trick us Mr. Mayor we will know if that is what you are attempting to do and you do not want to have us as your enemies, trust me.", Felix said
<Tag Ji'zhan/Simeth>
--Meanwhile in another place—
Tedak asked the guard again about whom they could talk to about who they are searching for instead of Ambassador Saarok.
“You can contact Captain Savali if you have any question about the investigation.”, the man said and left Tedak and Ezdreiana standing there alone

Drolem eyed Felix a moment,
"I m not entirely sure what you think you know Captain, but I reckon pretty much all of it is wrong. I can however assure you thats Saaroks disappearnce has nothing to do with me. Perhaps you should check his past. And as for Debrune... well we get few on the station but from what I understand most of their problems are closer to home.
I am sorry but thats all I can help you with. As for Hishar... its a shame I was looking forward to some competition, for some reason I m always elected unopposed. Having a debate would have been...interesting. Now if you don't mind I have some Municipal matters that need my attention."

It wasnt long before Magellan heard about the incident involving Ji'Zhan. The 7th level of hell had most definetly been reached and he needed to calm matters down considerably.
Tapping his comm badge he reqested the following,
=^= Captain Savail, Commander Vanetti and Ambassador Ji'Zhan would you please meet me in conference facilty 2. To discuss the current situation. Thankyou. Magellan out.=^=
Keying of the comm Magellan pulled himself together, he could feel the other voices resurfacing again. He crossed to the replicator.
"Computer replicate an Hypospray - 10cc's of Isoboramine" The computer complied and Magellan administered the shot. Feeling better he checked his uniform and departed from the office and into Ops.
"How long until the Galaxy returns?"
"Less than an hour." F'rras reported,
"Very well. Have Dr Mercy give them a once over and then assign them guest quarters. Ambassdor Ezdreiana can then begin to sort out rehoming them"
"Yes sir"
Magellan checked the bases status oncemore on the Master Display screen and left the room.

"Mayor, you and I both know what I say is true. I may not have enough evidence to prove it right now... But I will have it eventually, and then. And then things will become interesting", Felix said as he and Ji'zhan departed from the Mayors office
Just as they were going past his secretary a call came from Admiral Magellan for the 2 of them and Sharon Vanetti to meet him in the conference room.
"We will discuss the mayor after we meet with the Admiral", Felix said to Ji'zhan
<Tag Ji'zhan>
After they departed the whole complex which was dominated by the office of the Mayor, Felix and Ji'zhan proceeded to the turbolift and then took it up to the operations level. After they arrived to the level they met Sharon Vanetti there who only arrived a few seconds before them.
"Do you know what this meeting is all about"; Felix asked Sharon
"No idea whatsoever", she said
"Elder Ji'zhan", she greeted him after she noticed he was there too
<Tag Ji'zhan>
After the trio wrapped up the conversation they proceeded to the conference room. When they arrived they found it to be empty, apparently the Admiral had not arrived yet, so they each chose a seat and sat down to wait for the Admiral.

T'Val froze when Ji'Zhan touched her, it felt as though her skin was burnt when he removed his fingers and she shuddered. Her mind was flooded with images and she reeled as she tried to make sense of them. She shook it off and returned her attention to her patient, tapped her combadge and beamed him to sickbay, along with herself.
Once her patient was settled and made as comfortable as possible, T'Val returned to her office in the civillian part of the hospital to update her records. While she was doing that she also recalled the unvoluntary mind touch from Ji'Zhan and instead of continuing her updates she leaned back and closed her eyes, trying to make sense of it all.
As she had suspected, the images showed her that Ji'Zhan was innocent, yet she still couldn't fathom why he would stroll around some shady part of the station, even touching an unknown and unidentified object. Yet, T'Val was convinced of the Elder's innocence, despite the unexplainable parts of what she received. However to be absolutely certain, the Vulcan healer knew she had another option: her patient. As he'd been present when Ji'Zhan was possibly drugged, she might gain knowledge from him.
T'Val walked back to her still unconscious and, despite her efforts, still critically injured patient. She stood observing him in absolute silence for several minutes, trying to make up her mind. Magellan's warning about mindmelds was still quite vivid in her mind, and she was well aware of the risks involved. ~does the cause not justify the means?~ she tried to convince herself and her resolve.
She stepped closer to the unconscious human, noting that he looked to be extremely young and quite hansome. ~not even 20 standard years old~ she pondered as she approached the head end of the biobed. Again she hesitated, leaning her hands on the edge of the biobed, closing her eyes in concentration.
Finally, resolved, she placed both hands on the young man's face and initiated a mindmeld.

"I understand," JiZhan responded as the two left for the corridor. When the two entered the turbo lift and the door closed, JiZhan informed the Captain.
"You asked me to help you with the Mayor. I am afraid that I will not be able to." The Captain turned to hear what JiZhan had to say. "When I shook his hand during the greeting ... all I saw was a dark mind. Now, Vulcan's I expect that from and shady Romulans, but from your everyday person; I do not! He must have had training to keep his mind clear from Vulcan like people." JiZhan informed.
JiZhan added, "I can say this at least, people with dishonest motives run from the light and that is also true within the mind. The color I saw, you may not be surprised at, ... ... it was black."
When the two arrived on the deck they both exchanged greetings with the members of thee impromptu meeting and all went in the room to take a seat.

Jason was not a happy man. Due to the too weak sedative those idiots administered Ji'zhan with he woke up before all the men died and now there was a live witness out there. This had to be taken care of now, before the man started blabbing up that Ji'zhan was innocent and that he, Jason, was the real killer. This had to be stopped and he had just the right plan to take care of it. It will take him a bit of time to replicate what he needed.
--Meanwhile in the civilian sickbay--
After T'Val established a mind meld first thing she felt was fear, yes fear. The man lying there was afraid, afraid of whatever the man who shot him represented.
"Noooooo...", she could feel the man shouting as a beam from the weapon hit him in the abdomen
But yet she could not see who was responsible. Then the image went back to when Ji'zhan entered through a wall that really wasn't. She saw this very man inject him with something and saw Ji'zhan falling to the ground...
--Meanwhile on that same deck--
Jason was wearing a teal uniform and over it a white doctors coat. He bore the rank insignia of a commander, which was high enough for no one to be suspicious of him administering medicine to patients without the order from the CMO. Concealed on his person he had a chemical, a chemical that would not kill the person injected with it, but simply affect the long term memory of the person. The chemical would disrupt those connections and the person would permanently forget everything that happened to her. It was something he used for cases like these. That was the man could even survive but it would not matter as he knew nothing.
As he entered sickbay he made sure to be seen by every nurse and doctor in there. He knew that hiding in plain sight was the best cover one could come up with. As he passed through the Starfleet part of the hospital he entered the civilian ward. What he saw there slightly disturbed him. The Vulcan woman was mind melding with the man he did not manage to kill, he had to act fast. He looked around the room for an suitable object...
Meanwhile T'Val was making progress, she managed to see the image of a Vulcan male with a firelizard on his shoulder, he was debating something with someone while the man who was lying in bed before her was dragging Ji'zhan's body out of the room. The suddenly she saw the image of Ji’zhan out cold on the floor while someone else fired at the 2 men in the room and then he fired at the man who was lying there...
At that moment Jason approached behind T'Val and pressed the hypo-spray against her back, and injected the contents. At that moment T'Val collapsed into his arms. He quickly called over some nurses and had them move T'Val to another bio bed as she suddenly collapsed. He claimed it was a side effect from the mind meld she was performing. As the nurses rushed to move T'Val he pulled out the other chemical from his pocket and put it into the hypo-spray which he then pressed against the neck of the patient lying in bed and injected it.
As soon as the content was injected he said to the nurses who were trying to revive T'Val to inject her with a stimulant while he went and got Dr. Mercy. Of course he had no intention to get Dr. Mercy, he used the opportunity to slip out of the hospital and once in the safety of the corridor he slipped through the nearest Jeffries tube where he disposed of the uniform he was wearing and exited onto another corridor, dressed in a yellow uniform which would be worn by an engineer just doing some maintenance in the tube and would not attract any attention...

Pleased with the result of the mind meld, T'Val started to withdraw her mind from that of her patient. She was nearly done when she felt a slight pressure against her back. The Vulcan had been oblivious to Jason approaching her and until he pressed the hypospray against her back she'd been unaware of her surroundings.
She uttered a strangled cry as she realized what was going on, especially as she hadn't completely withdrawn from the patient's mind yet. As she collapsed she felt that someone caught her and panic struck as she lost consciousness. She knew an interrupted mind meld was dangerous but she didn't know what the consequences would be. Her meld was interrupted rather abruptly and she feared for her sanity.
Yade screamed as T'Val collapsed but she got to her bondmate after the assaillant had gone. Nurses shot forward to assist the other patient as vitals went through the roof. Rayna was one of the nurses attending to T'Val, also attempting to calm Yade.
"Go find Stuart little green," she urged, "he'll want to tend to her himself." The Romulan tapped her combadge. "Rayna to anyone at ops and jag. There has been an accident in sickbay." Rayna knew her Vulcan friend well enough to know she wouldn't just collapse after performing a mind meld, she was too skilled for that. And she was in excellent health so illness couldn't be a factor. "A patient has been...I would say poisoned. While it all looks like an accident, I suspect more is going on here. Healers don't just collapse and there are traces of sedative in her blood."
(Magellan/Loskene/Felix)
Meanwhile, Yade glided into Mercy's office, screaming wildly and pecking at Stuart to get his attention. Her talons dug painfully into his skin as she grabbed the fabric of his uniform and started to pull him along.

Conference Facility 2 was far larger than was needed for three people to occupy but it was on the Starfleet Restricted Level and tucked away in a quiet part of the fleet offices. Magellan arrived first and immediatly jacked in to the security feeds and had them displayed on a full monitor along one wall.
"Sir" greeted Sharon as she entered the room and took a seat,
"Vanetti" Magellan acknowledged, "Hows the search going?"
"We're getting there. I ve had to take civilian security off the JAG investigation but we are currently halfway through the station. It looks as if Saarok is being held on the lower levels. I ve got Lily scanning for Vulcan lifesigns and then following it up with Tac teams but theres over 200 of them on the station and its taking time"
Magellan nodded, he wasn't too worried yet. Saarok could handle himself, but even so it wasn't good to lose a senior diplomat, especially whilst JAG was sniffing around. Speaking of which - Felix and Ji'Zhan appeared.
After pleasantries were exchanged Magellan called them to order,
"I wanted all three of you here together to try and get a handle on whats happing on Assailant. So far I ve given you a long rein Mr Savali. You have your investigation to run... whatever that maybe but I have a station to run and as a result of your actions Section 47's leading Federation diplomat has been kidnapped. If it had been a foriegn powers diplomat we may well be on the brink of war now."
"Yes Sir." Felix acknowledged, "But that was an inforeseen circumstance, I was..."
Magellan smiled gratiously, "Expect the unexpected, its part of being in Starfleet. Now from what I understand Elder Ji'Zhan has been involved in this now."
"Yes. I was approached by a man and given a location of missing Debrune. I went there but was attacked and framed for murder" Ji'Zhan quickly filled in.
"There was your first mistake. You should have contacted Sharon. She could have supported your actions. But thats water under the bridge. I take it we have one of the bodies still alive in the hospital"
"Yes. Healer T'Val is planning to mind meld with them to find out what they know" Felix added
"What" Magellan exclaimed, "T'Val is a civilian" he paused, "Which is why shes perfect - Starfleet couldnt sanction that. Still its a risk. Vanetti get down there and take over the interrogation"
"Sir I must protest, this is a JAG Investigation." Felix complained
"When Saarok went missing it became Assailant business, you can resume your witch hunt once Saarok is safe and sound. Ji'Zhan do you think this is more rebel action - trying to discredit you or perhaps thats just a blind?"
TAG Ji'Zhan
As Ji'Zhan finished speaking they were interrupted by a security feed.
"Sir. Healer T'Val has been attacked in the hospital"
Magellan gave Felix an I told you so look and quickly rose.
"Get down there NOW!" he ordered them, "I m gonna see if I can gain a good enough link with Dinas to see if the firelizards can get a lock on him like T Val suggested."

"Admiral, I do not believe this is a rebel event." Jizhan responded and each person in the room was giving him questioning looks. Noticing this he continued, "I can see the 'why' on your faces, I don't believe the rebel factions are in control here simply because if they were the good Capitan and his team would have no one to look for. There would only be bodies this far in the game." Jizhan was getting frustrated when a another consealed communication device beeped in his garment. Capitan Felix glared at JiZhan being upset that he and his teams missed yet another consealed device. JiZhan answered the device by text only, reading the reply on the small screen the device had Jizhan added to the conversation. Looking at the Admiral, "We have another problem. My security has just found a bug in our underground comm systems. Upon taking the bug apart, the processing component is Starfleet JAG issued." Jizhan looking at the Admiral with disgust and in a louder and more angry voice, "Admiral, I have no way of knowing when this bug was placed or if it was placed with your knowledge but I feel the clandestine actions," looking at Felix, "of this investigation has gone to far."
<Lin, Felix>
As Lin and Felix gave their responses they were interrupted by the comm ...
"Sir. Healer T'Val has been attacked in the hospital ... I think she was trying to meld with the phaser victom ... she is not responding to any treatments."
Magellan gave Felix an I told you so look and quickly rose.
"Get down there NOW!" Magellan ordered them, "I m gonna see if I can gain a good enough link with Dinas to see if the firelizards can get a lock on him like T Val suggested."
Ji'Zhan, knowing that a mind meld was dangerous in situations such as the one described, offered Magellen his help, "Admiral, if T'Val was interrupted during her mild meld she will need my help. Most interrupted melds result in a life time of insanity."

"This is preposterous"; Felix shouted at Ji'zhan after his comment about a bug in his system which was allegedly manufactured by JAG
"JAG is not a security agency; therefore it does neither manufacture nor place listening devices on comm. systems. Other agencies do those sorts of things. We are lawyers not secret agents"
"And I did no such thing as order anyone to bug your system. As I have told you before JAG is not here to investigate members of the DCS", he said with a calmer voice. To think this man thought they were in the business of placing bugs. It was plain crazy.
<Tag Ji’zhan/Magellan>
After they were done with the convo, a call came that someone attacked Healer T'Val during a mind meld. After he received an "I told you so look" from Magellan Felix got up getting ready to go down to sickbay and to see what has happened.
"Admiral, i must reject your accusation of this being my fault. I am not sure what impression you got from the conversation earlier but I did not order T'Val to mind meld with that man. Nor was such an idea anywhere in my head. Now I do not know what you think of me or this investigation. But I did not start this investigation but I sure will finish it. And the person responsible for all these things you are blaming me for is going to pay dearly for their actions", he said calmly as he and Ji'zhan left the conference room to try and see if they can help T'Val
--Later in sickbay--
After Felix and Ji'zhan arrived in sickbay they saw several nurses and doctors running around T'Val, but surprisingly Dr. Mercy was not among them. This did surprise Felix a bit as from what he heard they were romantically involved. But just that moment he saw Dr. Mercy rushing into the room. Well at least the information is not incorrect he thought as he and Ji'zhan stepped up to the bed.
"Can anyone here tell us what happened?", Felix asked

Saarok was growing tired of this game with these want to be spooks. They were idiots and incapable at that. During his reign, people like these were taken care of not employed. And he had no reason to stay with them any longer. They must have thought that his reputation was blown out of proportions because if they thought they could keep him somewhere where he did not wish to stay by a simply locked door and two guards in front of it, they were insane. And he had wasted too much time on them as things were. Other matters demanded his attention and sitting in some locked cabin was not his way of dealing with things.
He rose from the bunk on which he was sitting and proceeded to the door. The door was your simple everyday door. It would not take him too long to breach it. He tore a sleeve of his robe and then extracted the gold lining from it. As that was not gold lining it was a very powerful explosive which would detonate after it was wet and came in contact with the red lining he had on his other sleeve. After he placed the yellow lining all around the door, he tore of his other sleeve and extracted the red lining which he then placed next to the yellow one and stepped away. He beckoned his firelizard called Sephirot and transferred the message of what he would do. After the firelizard received the message he moved into position.
Saarok spat on the other end of the red lining, and he could see the special characteristic of the lining slowly transferring the water from one end of it towards the connection with the yellow lining. Within moments it would reach the end and blow away the door and the two guards that stood in front of it. While the wet part was traveling towards the explosive, Sephirot appeared in front of the door and started to annoy the guards and make them stand directly in front of the door. They were not on the smart side and within moments the firelizard got them where he was told to get them then vanished. Before the guards could go to their position an explosion was heard, an explosion which blew the door out of it's position into the guards and into the bulkhead that was located across the door.
After the door was blown away, Saarok went out of the cabin. He moved over the door and the two guards on the floor. They were still alive, but not for long. Saarok bent down and with an expert move of his hands broke the neck of both men. They deserved nothing better for their incompetence. He thought as he moved away from them and proceeded towards the nearest turbolift. He was sure their comrades have heard the explosion and would most certainly arrive within moments. But he was not concerned. When they saw what has happened to their friends they will be smart and stay away from him for they will have realized by then that his reputation was not blown out of proportion but was indeed the truth to its every word.

"I never said that you ordered the bug, but Starfleet top-grade surveillance technology just doesn't get passed out like rations." Ji'Zhan added. "Captain, what I was suggesting when I made that comment to the Admiral was... I think that the base has become complacent with its position. The Federation has requested that the Debrune share its technology, however if Starfleet can't keep the technology from leaking then I will have no choice but to not agree with sharing with the Federation members."

-- in sick bay --
Ji'Zhan and Felix entered sick bay and noticed that the Doctor was not with T'Val. But no one mind could think any further as the Doctor was racing to her side. Ji'Zhan, also rushing over to the bio bed, asked the nurse who made the Comm call to Lin why she thought T'Val was performing a meld. The nurse pointed out that neither T'Val nor the phaser victim was responding in the normal expected manor to any treatment. By this time Mercy was becoming upset as he was finding out the same to be true.
"Doctor, if you would, please allow me to see if she was indeed performing a meld. At least I can rule that out for you" Ji'Zhan asked the Doctor
<Mercy>
Ji'Zhan leaned in and placed his hands on T'Val. Debrune, being from the Vulcan line, knew about what most people considered only possible by true Vulcans. However, while the Debrune were running through the Galaxy trying to find a place called home, they held firm to their knowledge and in-fact had become better and broadened their abilities.
Ji'zhan's hand was on T'Val's head, flat so the surface of his hand could benefit the connection. Ji'Zhan could instantly feel T'Val's terror but the images he was getting were all distorted and not coherent. Ji'Zhan's only course of action was neuropressure.
"Doctor, indeed she was in a meld but unfortunately I can not tell at what point she was at. I can only assist you at this point by neuropressure while use your medical talents. I'm afraid that as scattered as her thought are right now, she will need a Fullara later when she is more stable."

Saarok was making way through the corridors attempting to reach the upper levels. His firelizard was at his side and from what he was receiving from him, the men who abducted him were not going after him. That was the first commendable thing he could say for them. They learned their lesson from what happened to the two guards he took care of earlier. The most displeasing thing from this experience for him was that he did not know what was happening on base currently. He tried contacting his computer but to no avail. No response came from it; it was as if someone wiped the core clean. He would need to determine what happened later.
As he turned around the corner in another corridor, he ran into Tedak and Ezdreiana. He raised an eyebrow as he saw them.
"Have we been chased out of our offices so that you had to set up office here in the corridor?", He asked them
<TAG Tedak/Ezdreiana>
"Then I would like you to brief me on what has happened since my unfortunate and unwilling, partly, disappearance.", he said

After Ji'zhan finished his monologue, Felix finally got a chance to respond.
"Elder, you are misinterpreting my words. I did not say someone else stole the technology and is now using it. I merely stated that there are other agencies within Starfleet and Federation who are in business of using that technology. Surely the Debrune have/ or had security and Intelligence agencies? The Romulans have it, the Vulcan’s, have them, the Cardassians... All species have them. Now i do not see where did you draw out the conclusion that it was someone outside of the federation with stole Federation technology?", Felix asked

--In sickbay--
After they arrived in sickbay and while the doctors and nurses were rushing around T’Val, Felix decided to wait on the side. He was no doctor and did not want to get in the way. He watched Ji'zhan performing a mind meld with T’Val. He was never a fan of these mind melds but especially not in cases when the health problem was caused by one and Ji'zhan could 'cause eve more problems by melding with her again if he didn't know what he was doing. And from what Felix knew... Ji'zhan seemed a bit too young to know what he was doing.

Stuart had retreated to his office. The infirmary was about as prepared for those rescued by the Galaxy as it could be. Rayna wheeld her way in to inform him that three patients had been beamed in, technically one as the others were there for autopsy. Also, that T'Val had just returned as well and was already treating the live patient.
That last bit of news allowed Stuart to remain seated. He knew that T'Val was just as skilled as he was in the treatment of patients. Hell, when they had first met, she had reminded him that she had managed this facility at one time or another. Now that he knew her, he knew that she was quite capable.
Stuart was still a bit perplexed at the readouts of Admiral Lin. The telemtry he was receiving via Lily showed that his isobarmine level would at first seem to spike high, and then drop down well below the standard levels. It just didn't make sense. that last trip they had taken back to the pools, apparently didn't really help much for the Admiral. Stuart sure could use some help from one of those trill experts.
Out of nowhere Yade appeared and started clawing on Stuarts tunic, trying to pull him towards the doorway. At the same time Stuart noticed a commotion just outside. Nurses and medtechs were running around as if there was a Code Blue out there, and it very well could be.
Stuart raced out of his office and ran in the direction of the biobeds everyone was hovering. while running, he wondered if T'Val was over there taking charge of the situation. When he got closer...his heart sank, T'Val had become a victim somehow.
The JAG officer was there, and so was Elder Ji'zhan. They, together now with Stuart, were intently listening to Rayna expalin her assessment of the situation. Then Stuart allowed Ji'zhan's request to verify the mindmeld, which he did, but he didn't know what state she was in other than halfway stable.
Stuart took over again, activating the biobed scanner that enclosed T'val around her chest. "She's been injected with a sedative...appears to be stable...no other abnormal effects from that. We'll just have to let it wear off, then we will know more about any long-lasting affects from the mindmeld when she comes to. Elder, I have my reservations about this Fullara thing. I mean a mindmeld is what got her here in the first place."
<Ji'Zhan>
Stuart then let his true feelings towards T'val show. "Oh I understand, but you understand this...this isn't just a professional concern...it's a personal one as well. Now if you will excuse me, I need to attend to the other patient. We also have more patients coming, from a rescue. I would appreciate it if all non-essential, non-medical personnel now clear the area. Thank you!"
Stuart did not take the time to observe if everyone was leaving or not. He turned immediately to see what he could do for this other patient, which he found out wasn't much, he was dying.

OFF -- a bit of history for the sake of the story –
The Debrune, as far a canon goes, was a group that split from the group that would become the Romulans. So, I guess you could say they split from the split … or something like that. At any rate, they went a completely different way from the would be Romulans. The Romulan group didn’t like the views and lifestyle of Surak’s teaching and left. Though Canon doesn’t say this per say, in my minds eye, the Debrune split came from a group that did not want the extreme of Surak’s teaching but also didn’t want the other extreme of the Romulans either. At this point, the Section 47 Debrune, would have the mind abilities that everyone is familiar with but with different characteristics. I view the Debrune’s mind abilities being much more honed, seeing that the Debrune embraced their emotions and learned to work with them as Human’s do today. Basically, the Debrune simply need to touch a person to be able to use their abilities, and they can be passive, but not always (wink wink), in nature not hurting either of the bodies evolved.
So with that said, what Ji’Zhan has done with T’Val in this plot is simply viewed her mind and came to a conclusion that she did indeed [Vulcan] meld with the phaser victim and now is simply using a form of acupressure, known to Vulcans as neuropressure. However, not in the intimate sense as we saw in the ENT episode “The Xindi” between T’Pol and Tucker.
|
---- ON still in sick bay answering Mercy’s Question ----Ji’Zhan was beginning the think if anyone had any type of knowledge of melding and how safe it really is. ‘The Vulcans have seemed to mess with the ancient ways to much’, JiZhan thought, ‘it really is a passive thing’. Also noticing Felix’s facial expressions of Ji’Zhan’s abilities and the Doctor’s question JiZhan said, “Gentlemen, I may be young to your eyes, but the Debrune indeed as the same life span as Vulcans, if in fact not more. So what your eyes see as youth to your Human understanding would be that of a man of many years.” Ji’Zhan hated that about the Humans, their constant assumptions simply by their first impressions. “Doctor, if T’Val does not have the Fullara performed then I can tell you she will become a recluse, to the point of insanity. I’m not saying that this is simply a possibility, it is a surety. Now, if you wish we can leave it up to the Vulcan’s and they will not perform this no where except on their home world, or I can assist her in a much more inert version that my people use today.” Ji’Zhan instructed. ---- Back posting to answer Felix’s tag ----“I was neither misinterpreting your words nor was I drawing conclusions. Fact states that the bug was of Starfleet design. If you didn’t place the bug and you have no knowledge of your agencies placing the bug, the either it was stolen meaning you have no stewardship of your technology, or your right hand does not know what the left is doing.” Ji’Zhan said mater of fact. “Yes, the Debrune does indeed have security and intelligence agencies, however official actions of those groups are known by the Elders. Any group that acts on its own will is labeled rebel and do not have the interest of the people in mind.”
