Kirk stood along side Jack and Saryn in the temporal network as Daniels had just put it. The topic at hand was Captain Adams, the beloved and much respected leader of the crew of the Challenger. Daniels stood firm after the verbal warning by Saryn; he was at home in his temporal network.
“What can you tell us?” Kirk asked.
“What I can tell you is that Captain Adams is fine.” Daniels replied.
“Fine,” Jack said still not satisfied, “What else can you tell us?”
“Not much.” Daniels fired back.
“Then lets hear it.” Saryn said taking a step forward.
Daniels seemed to get on rattled with the advancing Vulcan so he quickly took a slide step backward, “What I can tell you is that if Captain Adams does indeed die it will cause a terrible problem with the current time line. We cannot allow that to happen, so we have taken some rather drastic measures to insure his life does not expire.”
“What the hell does that mean?” Kirk shouted.
“It means Lieutenant that we are doing everything in our power to make sure that the timeline does not alter from its current course. If it does it spells disaster for the Federation as well as the entire Alpha Quadrant.”
“Federation?” Jack asked.
“You know it best as the Coalition of Planets.”
“The real question is why have you brought us here?” Kirk asked.
“I assumed you would be worried about your Captain and I wanted to personally assure you that he is alive. At any rate I must return to my ship and you have a Super Bowl to watch. Go Colts.”
Before any of the three could reply there was a sudden and bright flash of light. It was then that they found themselves back on board the Challenger, back in the mess hall. In the background the sounds of the football game is heard, cheers, hoots, and boos also accompany the play-by-play commentary.
Kirk turned quickly around and found that he was standing in the same group of three as he had just before Daniels had appeared to them. He didn’t know what to say about the news they had just received from Daniels, so he did what he would have done if Daniels never showed up; watch the game.
Kirk shrugged to Jack and reached over and picked himself up a cold beer. There wasn’t much to talk about, at least not in public.
“Make a hole people.” Kirk shouted as he tried to reclaim his front row seat.

Chief Engineers Personal Log:
The ship seems moral has dropped with the loss of Captain Adams. They crew wanted to know what happened to him, and the best excuse that we, the away team could come up with was that he was lost in a transporter accident.
As of today Commander Robert Nelson has officially taken over command of the Challenger and placed Jack as the ships XO. Looks like he is going to be working extra hard until we are sent a replacement officer.
Colts won, not that I didn’t know or anything, but it’s always nice to watch the games anyways. I can’t wait to get back home and see a game in real life. Hell I just can’t wait to get home and see anything in real life again.
End Log.
