The documentation seemed to be in complete order. In fact it was perfect, well to be honest Jack didn't expect anything different from Vulcans. They always thought they were better than people, Jack thought.
"Captain, the paper work is in order, we have orders from Starfleet to give our cargo to the Kisari," Jack said gloomy. He just didn't understand why this was happening. It was an easy mission enough, all they had to do was deliver some cargo to Vulcan. Somehow the Vulcan's had convinced Starfleet that they were not capable of doing this easy task.
When the captain asked the bridge if anyone had any ideas it surprised Jack that no one gave a real answer. Most of it was just speculation, but maybe it was better this way Jack thought, why think on the bad news.
"Captain!" Adams yelled. "I am reading an extremely high energy build up on the Kisari, I have no idea..."
But that was all he got out as a bright explosion erupted onto the viewscreen which had, milliseconds earlier, been displaying an image of the Kisari.
The ship shook so violently that Jack flew a couple of feet forward from the chair that he was sitting on. Jack was in extreme pain, but go up to check his scans. Jack wanted to find some survivors very badly, this could not be happening.
"No survivors sir." said Adams. Jack hit his console in frustration as he began to realize that his worse fears where coming to life.
"Ensign Logan, can you confirm that?" Captain Dowding asked.
"Yes sir, unfortunately all hands were lost," Jack said further expressing the mood that everyone on the Challenger must of been feeling.
"Why, why did it happen?" Captain Dowding asked in pure shock," I need to know answers."
"Captain I'm detecting a fleet of Vulcan ships heading this way," Jack reported as quickly as he had seen the information on his console.
"They will be here in 32 hours," Jack reported confused. Why would a fleet be heading there way, there was no way that they already found out about the lost of the Kisari.

Commander Benzin was very shocked when he was almost thrown to the ground by the force of the explosion.
The captain turned around and faced his XO, in awe.
Commander Benzin looked up at him with a disturbed, hopeless frown.
Benzin: She's completed destroyed sir, all I'm reading are many tiny pieces of debris. I'm checking for damage.... Our hull plating vas not polarized, but thankfully ve were not too badly damaged.
After giving the tactical assessment, Benzin quickly took on the role of the XO. He contacted every deck, asking for casualty and damage reports. Just then, the comm officer, Jack Logan announced that a fleet of Vulcan ships was on course to rendezvous with the Challenger. Benzin found it unusual, but there were other things to attend to, as all decks soon reported in with their statuses...

'Captain I'm detecting a fleet of Vulcan ships heading this way,' Logan reported 'They will be here in 32 hours'
Given that a Vulcan ship has just exploded nearby, the Vulcans, if that's what they were, were not going to be happy about this. In fact, to Rickman, this seemed like a setup or an interstellar ambush. He didn't waste time contacting Sgt Smith. 'Smith, we have Vulcan ships, possibly hostile, approaching. ETA, 32 hours. Make sure the Marines are up and ready for action for that time. Post fire teams one and two at the docking ports. Keep team three in reserve.' 'Yessir!' he barked down the link Within minuted, Atkins was on the bridge. 'Who are the hostiles?' 'Vulcans' 'Are you sure? That wouldn't be logical, it wouldn't be in their character' 'They might be renegades or not even real Vulcans. Either way we can't take the chance' 'Should we tell the ship captain we're scrambling?' 'We'll tell him closer to the time, they're over a day away anyway and they're our Marines. Make sure we have one team awake at all times until they arrive. Keep them going in shifts. If anything happens earlier I want to be ready for it'

"Hey Nix, can you go check the reaction chamber mixture. I want to know what it is looking like after a stop and go warp jump."
Kirk watched his assistant head off to the main station attached to the warp core while he finished up a smaller routine check on power regulation.
"We are running a bit lean it seems." Nix reported.
"How bad?" Kirk asked curiously and he finished up his scans.
"Not bad, about -3%."
"Alright, thanks for checking. Go ahead and fatten out the mixture, bring it back to 0." Kirk said.
"Aye sir."
Just ask Kirk was starting to walk over to the core to check on the progress of Nixon he was thrown to the floor by a sudden and violent explosion. Several small containers fell from the top of the core smashing onto the ground all around him and several other engineers. Kirk watched as a few engineers were hit by the falling containers. With in seconds the shaking was over.
"Nix, check on those two over there." Kirk pointed to a few others injured engineers.
Kirk ran over to the two engineers he saw get hit on the head by falling containers. As he approached they started to move around slowly. One engineer had gotten hit in the head by a container, the other appeared to have gotten hit on the back.
"Are you two alright?" Kirk asked.
"Yes sir, I am." Replied the engineer who was struck in her back.
Kirk was about to ask the other engineer but before he could Kirk saw the man stumble and collapse.
"Take him to sickbay." Kirk ordered.
Sending the two engineers off to sickbay Kirk ran over to a wall communicator, pushing the com button he opened a channel to the bridge.
"Kirk to the bridge, what the hell is going on up there?"

"Logan, can you get that please?" Marshall said in response to the call from Engineering. "Infrom Ensign Kirk of what is going on." Marshall turned to helm. "Stay at our present location, this ship is not to move an inch until we find out what is going on."
Marshall strolled into his Ready Room and took a seat, catching his breath. Everything had happened so fast, and now it was down to him to sort things out.
"Logan to the Captain."
Marshall sighed. "Go ahead Mr. Logan."
"A text message has just been received from Starfleet Headquarters, Sir it's marked important and it's for you."
Marshall frowned, Challenger had yet to infrom Earth of the situation at hand.
"Put it through." He replied. The comm closed and Marshall turned to his computer where the text message appeared.
He read it through three times before standing to his feet and pressing the intercom.
"Benzin, please join me in my office." He said simply before taking his seat again.
Commander Benzin entered the Ready Room.
"Please take a seat Commander." Marshall said to the nervous looking XO. "I regret to inform you that I have been recalled, I am to return to Earth as soon as possible."
<TAG Benzin>
Marshall sighed and then smiled. "No matter what the current situation is, I must return to Earth. I do not wish to go into details but rest assured I will make sure that this crew is not held responsible for these past occurences."
<TAG Benzin>
"Commander, I hereby hand over Command of Challenger into your good hands until Starfleet sorts things out, which may be a while... This explosion will not go unheard of."
<TAG Benzin>
Marshall rose to his feet and offered his hand. Benzin took it and they shook. "It has been an honour to serve with you Commander, no matter for how brief a time."
<TAG Benzin>
Marshall smiled. "We should meet up when you get back to Earth, actually get to know each other."
Benzin replied and then exited the Ready Room. Moments later Marshall pressed the intercom.
"Dowding to Bay 1, prep a shuttlepod for immediate departure." He said before closing the comm.

Commander Benzin was taken totally by surprise. This is something he least expected, especially during the maiden voyage, and in the middle of an emergency, no less. He was disappointed, especially since his new Captain was a tolerable man who Benzin thought he could get along with, unlike his CO's in the past.
Benzin: But sir...Surely Starfleet must wish you to remain, at least until this whole affair is over vit? You're the best qualified and have the most experience for this kind of mission.
Benzin: Well...thank you sir... Nevertheless, I promise you ve will get to the bottom of this, we will find out what happened to that Vulcan ship.
The thought hit Benzin like a brick wall. "I hereby hand over Command of Challenger into your good hands until Starfleet sorts things out"He hadn't thought about the next step, and that he would be in command of one of Starfleet's finest ships. At that moment, it felt like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Benzin: I...I will see to it sir, that this ship and crew will be ready for whatever course of action Starfleet has in mind.
Benzin: Likewise sir, likewise. I wish you a safe journey where ever you may go.
Benzin: I would very much like that, sir. Maybe you can try my cooking... no matter how atrocious it may be. Well... Auf Wiedersehen, sir. I will not keep you.
Benzin stepped out of the ready room as the captain began his preparation for his departure.

"Nix, have you heard back from the bridge on what’s going on around here?" Kirk asked.
"Not yet sir." Nixon replied.
"I am going to go up there and find out what the hell is gong on." Kirk said, "Nix you’re in charge down here."
Kirk left engineering in a blaze trying to figure out what had happened. It was not normal for the bridge to not respond to engineering in a timely matter, especially after an event such as the one that had just happened. The communications system must be offline, Kirk thought to himself as he got onto the lift and headed to the bridge.
Once on the bridge Kirk spotted the chaos that was the bridge, officers running around the bridge relaying messages, manning stations. The Captain was not on the bridge at that moment and the first officer was no where to be seen. Looking out the main view screen Kirk saw debris from what used to be a starship.
“What the hell is going on here?” Kirk said softly as he was completely confused by what he saw.

"Aye sir," Jack said as he pressed the comm button to engineering.
"Kirk here"
"Engineering a couple of minutes ago the Kisari exploded and all hands were lost," Jack reported, " and we have just confirmed that a fleet of ships is on its way." There was a silence from Engineering, which Jack believed was because of the shocking news.
"If there isn't anything else please contact me," Jack said.
<Tag Kirk>
After finishing with the strange and eerie conversation with the chief engineer Jack went back to work trying to figure out the last moments of the Vulcan crew. As he was doing his work a priority one message from Starfleet came through.
"Logan to the Captain."
"Go ahead Mr. Logan."
"A text message has just been received from Starfleet Headquarters, Sir it's marked important and it's for you."
"Put it through." He replied. A couple of moments later, Jack saw that the Captain had called in Commander Benzin to his office. This must be very important, Jack thought, but he was almost 100% positive that they didn't know about the Kisari yet. If they did Jack thought that they were waiting for this to happen, which Jack truly hoped was not the case.
After a couple of minutes later Commander Benzin walked onto the bridge, Jack was certain that he would be telling them something very important.

Once the captain had left in a shuttlepod, Benzin entered the bridge, and sat down in the captains seat. It was a strange feeling, the bridge looked much different from that big chair. Benzin quickly got over his awe of being Acting captain and addressed Jack Logan.
Benzin: Mr. Logan, Haf you been able to establish contact with that Vulcan vessel?
<Logan>
Benzin: Alright, we'll have to be cautious. I haf a bad feeling about this.
Benzin signaled to a junior officer in the back of the bridge.
Benzin: Ensign McCauley, you have tactical for now.
Benzin then turned to face the Chief Science officer.
Benzin: Lieutenant Adams, I would like to see you in the ready room.
They both rose out of their seats and headed into the ready room.
The Commander began to sit down on the other side of the desk, but once again was reminded that their captain had left. He continued to the other side of the desk.
Benzin: Lieutenant, as everyone may know, it would be near to impossible for an Acting CO to take on an XO role as well. Therefore, I would like to appoint you as acting XO, until we get a new Commanding Officer. You are the highest ranking senior officer, and thus you are eligible. If you have any objections, let me know now.

"Of course, no objections, sir." replied Shawn, somewhat stunned. This had all happened very quickly, but if it hit him hard, he could only imagine how hard it must have hit Benzin.
Benzin held out his hand and Adams shook it.
Then Adams said, "Off the record Mr Benzin, I know that this can't be easy for you, to be thrust into this position with no warning; it's not easy for me, so I know how you feel. I just wanna let you know that I'll do everything I can to help you until we get our new commanding officer."

"I must contact Starfleet command." said Benzin, "Please begin appropriate preparations and investigations Mr Adams, I will join you shortly."
"Yes sir." said Adams, simply and walked out of the ready room, onto the bridge.
All eyes turned to him as he entered the bridge. He knew they were looking for explanations, and he was going to provide what he could. He pressed a button on the Captain's chair and activated intership communications. The familiar whistle sounded and Adams' voice echoed throughout the ship.
"Now hear this: This is acting first officer Shawn Adams. Due to unknown reasons, Captain Dowding has been recalled to Earth. In accordance with UESPA regulations and command orders, Commander Benzin has assumed command of Challenger and similarly, I have taken the post of acting first officer. This arrangement will remain in place until such time as a new commanding officer can be appointed."
Adams pressed the button again and the intercom was turned off. He turned his attention to the bridge officers.
"Mr Logan, get me the Vulcanian homeworld; it's time we had some answers."
As Logan nodded, he turned back to the chair to open a channel to engineering, but then saw the chief engineer standing on the bridge.
"Mr Kirk, get back to engineering and prepare this ship for combat, we don't know what intentions those Vulcan ships have."
Kirk looked momentarily stunned.
"I mean now ensign!" said Adams, raising his voice a little, although inwardly, he didn't blame the man.
Adams then sat in the Captain's chair and opened channel to the science department, "Science, this is Adams, begin investigations into the explosion of the Vulcan ship, come to me as soon as you have anything."

OCC: One thing that I noticed, Lt. Adams you said get me the Vulcanian homeworld. However in Ent it was never referred to as teh Vulcanian homeworld, as a matter of fact Vulcan has only been referred like that once and that was in TOS. Also there is no cannon evidence that the UESPA is used, Enterprise showed that only Earth Starfleet commanded the NX classes, but to be honest it really doesn't matter On: "Mr Logan, get me the Vulcan homeworld; it's time we had some answers." "Aye sir," Jack said quickly. It was quite easy for Jack to get the Vulcan's on the line. They were heading towards Vulcan anyways, but what happend next surprised Jack. He could clearly see that his message was be redirected to a Vulcan ship. "Lt. we have a problem, our communication towards Vulcan is be redirected by an unknown ship," Jack said. <Tag Adams>

OOC: It's true that the word "Vulcanian" was only used on TOS, but there has never been anything to indicate that it is an incorrect term, just seldom used. I just thought it'd give a little retro feel. As for the UESPA, I am afraid that I have to disagree with you, if you look at the logo at Starfleet Command, on ENT, underneath the Starfleet Logo, it clearly says, "United Earth Space Probe Agency". Starfleet was indeed under the jurisdiction of the UESPA until the late 23rd Century I believe. I thought that post would spark a little debate

"Mr. Kirk, get back to engineering and prepare this ship for combat, we don't know what intentions those Vulcan ships have."
Kirk looked momentarily stunned.
"I mean now ensign!" said Adams, raising his voice a little, although inwardly, he didn't blame the man.
“Aye sir.” Kirk said shaking off the stunned feeling he had listening to the bridge go over details of what had happened.
Kirk rushed down to engineering as fast as he could, it seemed the Vulcan fleet would be on top of the Challenger in no time. Reaching Engineering Kirk began to yell out orders to each of the stations.
“Battle stations everybody! Nix your with me, we need to keep a eye on the power out put to the weapons systems and keep in close contact with Ensign Logan on the bridge.” Kirk said climbing the ladder up to war core.
“Aye sir.” Crewman Nixon replied.
“Nix, did you find any damage done to the engines during the explosion?”
“No sir, everything after the explosion checks out 100%.” Nixon replied.
Kirk looked over the containment field to double check its strength before they went into battle, looking over the power output levels Kirk found his engines were still in prime condition. It was not that he did not trust Nixon, Kirk had always been a man to do it all himself to make sure it got done right.
“Mathews check on reserve power and emergency power.”
“Aye sir.” The engineer shouted from across engineering.
Kirk jumped off the platform from the warp core to the ground, walking over to a wall communicator. Kirk had to dodge several engineers to get there as the entire engine bay had become extremely busy with preparations for an up coming battle.
“Kirk to bridge, Engineering reports ready to go.”

"Lieutenant, we have a problem, our communication towards Vulcan is be redirected by an unknown ship." Jack said.
"Is it one of the fleet headed our way?" asked Adams.
"Unknown." said Logan.
"Open a channel to the Vulcan fleet." commanded Adams.
"Channel open." said Logan.
"Vulcan vessels, this is the Starship Challenger, please respond." Nothing happened and he looked over to Logan.
"They're not responding sir."
"Close the channel. Notify Starfleet Command of our situation and request orders."
Logan nodded. Adams gave him a few moments to complete his task before asking him, "How many other Starfleet vessels are there in the area?"
<Logan>
Just then, Kirk called the bridge from engineering and reported that engineering was ready to go.
"Mr Kirk, I want you to work on getting our warp engines and defence systems to the maximum possible. We may have to fight or escape this situation, either way, I want to be prepared."
<Kirk>
After closing the channel to engineering, he opened one to the chief MACO. "Mr Rickman, there is a possibility that we may be going into battle soon, I want all MACOs ready for defending the ship and any possible landing party duty. Present me with a readiness report in one hour."

Benzin: Well I would very much like to know just what the hell this unknown ship is. Mr. Adams, get me readings on that ship.
Logan: Sir, the Vulcan fleet is finally acknowledging our hails!
Benzin: Good, it's about time. Open a channel.
Logan: Channel open sir.
Benzin: Vulcan fleet, this is Commander Benzin of the Challenger, we tried to contact you as soon as we could, but it seems that we never got through.
Vulcan: This is Captain Surol of the Kalaman. Commander, we will be arriving at your position shortly. Please power down your weapons and hold position.
Benzin: May I ask why?
Vulcan: You and your crew are under arrest for the destruction of the Kisari.
Benzin: What?!
Vulcan: You may lodge any protest that you wish, but at the moment you are in Vulcan space and under our jurisdiction. Our fleet will arrive shortly and you and your ship will be escorted to Vulcan.
Benzin: Now wait, wait. Where is your evidence, what is the basis for this accusation?!
Vulcan: You will be informed when we reach you. We have already contacted Starfleet about this situation. They have reluctantly agreed to have you detained temporarily, until a trial can be held. We will arrive soon. Surol out.
The channel closed and everyone on the bridge appeared to be in a state of shock.
Benzin rubbed his forehead, which was covered with sweat. He had absolutely no idea why the Vulcans would accuse them of something of that magnitude.
Benzin: (Quietly) Gott in himmel... Mr. Logan, contact Starfleet, confirm this detainment. Adams, do you have any information on this...unknown ship? It must tie into this, somehow...

“Aye sir,” Kirk replied closing the channel, “Nix double check everything.”
Kirk went over the readouts again to double check the engines were online and running. Nixon went over the power distribution to the weapons systems and the hull polarization. It took only a matter of minutes by all systems checked out.
“How does everything look Nix?” Kirk asked.
“We are good.” Nixon replied.
Pushing the communications button on the station in front him, Kirk called up to Ensign Jack Logan the Operations Officer on the ship.
“Jack, power checks out down here, how are things looking at your station?” Kirk asked.

The channel closed and everyone on the bridge appeared to be in a state of shock.
Shawn voiced his concerns immediately, now that he was first officer, he wasn't supposed to wait until he was asked. "Sir, recommend that we don't power down, at least until Starfleet have confirmed. Also recommend that we have the ability to escape; those ships are 30 hours away."
Benzin rubbed his forehead, which was covered with sweat.
"Gott in himmel..." said Benzin quietly, though Adams heard, then, more loudly, Benzin said, "Mr. Logan, contact Starfleet, confirm this detainment. Adams, do you have any information on this...unknown ship? It must tie into this, somehow..."
Adams checked his console.
"I haven't got much sir, from this distance, we can't detect much, but the ship also has some kind of dampening field in effect, it's deflecting our sensor signals. All I can give you are its coordinates." said Adams, "Your orders Captain?"

Benzin: Keep weapons and engines on line. Keep us here at the moment, helm.
Logan: Sir...it's strange but I am receiving a message from Starfleet.
Benzin: How is that possible?
Logan: It is a personal message for you sir.
Benzin: I will be in the ready room.
Benzin moved across the bridge and entered into the ready room, desperate for answers. He sat down and activated the screen, and Admiral Stevens answered. Stevens was a middle aged man with a blond mustache and a worn face.
Stevens: Commander Benzin, this is Starfleet, Admiral Stevens. I assume you are aware of your current dilemma?
Benzin: Yes, sir, I am aware but I am at a lack to understand why. And another question sir, we've been having communication problems, and we could not contact Starfleet. It appears to be some kind of dampening field, assumed to be created by an unknown ship. Have any ships encountered a similar problem in the area?
Stevens: We had no trouble contacting you. As for a dampening field, as far as I know, no ships have encountered any serious difficulties. As for your mystery ship, I don't know anything about that either. But I'm afraid that we have more pressing matters to deal with at the moment. The destruction of the Kisari... What the hell happened?
Benzin: That's a good question sir. I wish I did have an answer for you.
Stevens: The command council is very concerned to say the least.
Benzin: As they should be. The Vulcans seem to be very assured that we are responsible for the destruction of the Kisari.
Stevens: Yes, and I'm sure others on the command council feel the same. I just can't believe this.
Benzin: ...Sir?
Stevens: The Vulcans sent us a sensor log from one of their sensor arrays, and the log showed us some disturbing proof. It implies that the Challenger opened fire on the Kisari, destroying it. 4 photonic torpedoes, targeted at their engineering section.
Benzin: What?! No, sir, that can't be. We saw it explode, but we didn't do anything to cause it's destruction. I'm sure our tactical log and torpedo inventory can prove otherwise!
Stevens: It was...very convincing evidence. Starfleet has no choice but to comply with the Vulcan high command. Remain where you are, wait for them. I don't know if what happened is true, but we must act in good faith and cooperate with the Vulcans. I believe- if- were-
The picture on the screen began to lapse, and the admirals voice turned to static, and it soon cut out.
Benzin: Admiral, admiral?
Benzin tried to reestablish communication but was unsuccessful. He whacked the screen in frustration. He sat down for a few moments to collect his thoughts and exited the ready room onto the bridge. Benzin addressed the bridge staff, feeling a bit reluctant.
Benzin: I have an update on our situation. Mr. Adams, please inform Mr. Rickman and Mr. Kirk to report to the bridge. And uh, I would like.... to hear your... opinions on the matter.
Benzin then brought everyone up to date on what he had been told.

'Mr Rickman, there is a possibility that we may be going into battle soon, I want all MACOs ready for defending the ship and any possible landing party duty. Present me with a readiness report in one hour.'
This was a strange turn of events for Rickman. Now the science officer was giving him orders, what had happened up on the bridge? Well one advantage is that he had made plans for the MACO's already so that didn't need much work. He had gone and arranged matters as soon as the Vulcan threat had come up. Apparently Starfleet weren't so efficient as the Marine Corps.
Rickman and Atkins compiled the report together.
'The order came down from the science officer' Rickman told Atkins 'Any idea why?' 'None at all. You?' 'Something probably happened to the captain.' 'Could be. You'd think they'd tell us if it had though' 'Hah, Starfleet are too busy cruising around without rules' 'True, they need some sort of directive really' 'Yeah, you'd think that would be Starfleet Command's prime concern.' 'Well I better take this report to the bridge and whoever's in command there now. Make sure Smith sees it as well.' Rickman said 'Yes, sir' Atkins replied as Rickman departed for the bridge.
When he arrived, Rickman found the first officer beginning to announce to the bridge crew the situation they were in. It wasn't good. When Benzin had finished, Rickman voiced his opinion. 'The Vulcans are clearly spoiling for a fight. I don't know much about Vulcans, but this isn't in their usual character. Either way, I doubt this ship could take on several of theirs and the shuttlepods don't have the capacity to carry a large enough boarding party, not that we have enough Marines to board more than one ship anyway. Defensively I would rate our man to man capabilities as better than the Vulcans could manage, but aggressively then we're at a disadvantage unless we can bring the ship to dock with one of theirs.'

Kirk had just finished up the battle preparations when he received a call from Lieutenant Adams on the bridge.
“Bridge to Ensign Kirk.”
“Kirk here.” Kirk replied from the communications station next to the warp core.
“Chief we need you to come up to the bridge for a situation update.”
“On my way.” Kirk said closing the channel, “Nix, take care of things down here until I get back.”
“Of course sir.” Nixon replied.
After the communictions channel clsoed Kirk made his way up to the bridge as fast as he could. It seemed the bridge wanted to keep the currently situation on a ‘need to know’ basis due to the brief communication he received from Lieutenant Adams.
Kirk arrived on the bridge just seconds before Commander Benzin began to explain the situation. Finally, I know what the hell is going on, Kirk thought to himself as the Commander kept on talking. The situation appeared to be in the hands of the diplomats at this point, but everybody could feel it in the air, nobody on this ship wanted to give up with out a fight.
Kirk listened as the Marine Captain voiced his opinion on the matter and Kirk had to agree it was very uncharacteristic of the Vulcans to want to pick a fight, it seemed…illogical.
“I do not think it is a good idea to just sit here and wait for those Vulcan ships to get with in striking distance of us,” Kirk said trying to test the water, “Captain, the engines are ready to go to warp on your command.”

"How many other Starfleet vessels are there in the area?"
Jack did a quick scan and saw that there were five ships in there area. The Enterprise, Intrepid, Columbia, Neptune, and Sarejevo.
"Captain the Enterprise, Neptune, and Intrepid are the closest to our current location," Jack reported.
"Okay good, contact them when I give you the order," Commander Benzin said.

Things on the bridge went from bad to chaotic really quickly, Jack was trying to contact the Vulcan fleet, but he was not getting any responses. In fact Jack thought that they just didn't want to respond to him, something that was strange for Vulcan's.
After about thirty minutes of trying the Vulcan's finally gave in and responded to his hails.
"Sir, the Vulcan fleet is finally acknowledging our hails!," Jack said very excitely. The following exchange of words quited down the entire bridge, no one could believe what was being said to them. After the communication ended everything went back to choas.
Benzin: Mr. Logan, contact Starfleet, confirm this detainment.
"Yes sir," Jack said as he started to power up the relay stations that he would need to get a hold of Starfleet as soon as possible. In a matter of minutes the line was in and things had gone to the Admirals in charge.
“Jack, power checks out down here, how are things looking at your station?” Kirk asked.
"Not so good engineering, we have been blamed for the destruction of the Kisari," Jack reported.

After the conversation with the Chief Engineer Jack was suprised to see that he had just recieved a personal message for Commander Benzin from an Admiral Stevens.
"Sir...it's strange but I am receiving a message from Starfleet," Jack reported which quickly caused the Commander to hed to his ready room.
Jack was sweating from the anticipation of the personal message and what the two could be talking about. When the Commander walked back into the bridge, Jack quickly understood that the situation just became a bit more dire.
Benzin: I have an update on our situation. Mr. Adams, please inform Mr. Rickman and Mr. Kirk to report to the bridge. And uh, I would like.... to hear your... opinions on the matter.
'The Vulcans are clearly spoiling for a fight. I don't know much about Vulcans, but this isn't in their usual character. Defensively I would rate our man to man capabilities as better than the Vulcans could manage, but aggressively then we're at a disadvantage unless we can bring the ship to dock with one of theirs.'
The next suggestion came from Lt. Adams and from Ensign Kirk, which both offered great ideas. It was just left for Jack to offer his opinion.
"Sir, I think its time to contact our friends, Jack said referring to the five Starfleet ships," they can be here in two hours, just a couple of minutes later than the Vulcan fleet."

OCC: I'm so sorry guys, I have been neglecting the Challenger, which is something that I never ever wanted to do. I'm so ashamed, but now that I will be posting I will stop being ashamed.

Shawn spoke up, "Captain, if these are really Vulcans, I don't think we have anything to be afraid of here. These days the Vulcans are a lot less agressive. Since the disbanding of the High Command, Vulcan has become a lot more friendly and logical. If these are really Vulcans, we can expect a fair trial and we can expect to get out of this.
"There's a missing piece to the puzzle though, that unknown ship has something to do with it. There's something going on here that's not right, and we have thirty hours to find out what to do. If needed Enterprise, Neptune and Intrepid will come to our aid. I know the Captains of Enterprise and Neptune, they're good men, I'm sure Intrepid has a good crew too. They'll all come if we ask them.
"The choice is yours Captain. What are your orders sir?"
