Within a matter of days, the USS Olympia had finally reached home.....Starbase 47, that is. To say that Steve was relieved would be an understatement. Finally he can put that last mission behind him and get some rest.
Sat in his command chair as the ship edged closer to its resting position, until he recieved confirmation from the Dockmaster that the Olympia was now docked. With that he opened a ship-wide comms,
=/\= All hands, this is the Captain. We have now arrived back at Starbase 47, and I hereby authorise you all to some well earned shoreleave. Enjoy your rest. Smith out. =/\=
Short and sweet, but it got he point across. He stood up from his chair and looked around the Bridge.
"That includes you, people. I don't want you sticking around here any longer than you have to."
OOC: Ok guys, I've set this up while I finalise a few details for our next mission, and then we will be heading out again!
The trip back to Starbase had been uneventful for Seth. It was a period of contemplation for him in the dark night between stars, a frozen time in which he had spent most of his time in his temporary quarters, knowing he had a fixed period within which to decide his future.
Did that lie with his mission for the Rectifiers, a quieter civilian life back on his home planet or even elsewhere in the Federation, or would he do what had previously been unthinkable and once again offer his services to Starfleet?
He had managed to reduce his quarters to their customary messy state before he had even reached spacedock. He moped about his quarters, sometimes in conversation with his family, sometimes with people back on Earth or at Starfleet Command (personally explaining his own role in the Olympia's previous assignment, as they had been quite interested to find out that a recently retired Starfleet officer had played a part in a Starfleet operation). He'd not dared to try and communicate with the Rectifiers, regardless of his skill in masking long range subspace communiques.
On arrival at Starbase the crew were given standard shore leave. Seth knew the procedure all too well. He was off the ship before most of the others, carrying his satchel and wearing his beige and black civilian attire.
He waved to Commander Rose who was stepping off the ship just behind him, "Thanks Commander," he said somewhat awkwardly. "You and your crew... I owe you my life."
"You helped save our away team," she replied smiling, "No, we owe you Mr Helacaan. All the best in whatever you decide to do next."
He headed straight for the notification board at the nucleus of the docking ring, checking the manifest of vessels scheduled for departure. He hoped to secure passage aboard a mercenary vessel of some type heading in the general direction of the Ascension system. He had decided during those long dark hours that he would return home, for now. His family needed him. With the uproar in the feudal council...
Savot: A most excellent and momentous hallmark to reach! It's been my honor and privilege; thanks to everyone who's made this place such an integral part of my life for over a decade. I'm sincerely grateful.
