Love the images you are producing re the Starbase 47 Command Center layout. While the layout looks pretty good, I had always imagined the Command Center area much much larger. The lower 'floor' holding numerous sections with offices circling the whole of the center each with windows to outside the SB, each individual station would have plenty room around it while numerous suspended screens allow multiple data feeds to be viewed simultaneously, while two massive screens, situated directly opposite each other could be used too ... Around the full circumference I'd imagined a Mezzanine Level where the main floor could be seen, a wide walkway encompassing the full three sixty degrees, with the offices situated toward the outer side, this is where Gheskori, as Section Admiral, and Carl Torek, as SB Executive Officer, would have their offices. There would also be a dedicated office, directly beside Starfleet Intelligence for Admiral Tetsutaro as Director of Intelligence & Chief of Starfleet Security on the Starbase. Minor stations would be situated beneath the Mezzanine Level while Primary stations would be situated around the 'floor' or lower level. Around the full circumference of the Mezzanine Level there would be Conference rooms, Meeting rooms, bathroom facilities, two duty mess areas, rest areas, turbo-lifts (eight possibly), along with almost full three sixty degree windows giving a panoramic view of surrounding space ... I had pictured the Command Center being something along the lines of maybe eighty to one hundred meters in diameter, with the Mezzanine Level overhanging by as mush as twenty meters around the circumference, minor stations would be situated beneath the Mezzanine Level, this would allow for the offices, conference rooms et-al on the upper level, while still allowing a large area for all the individual stations on the lower level. Have to say I really like the tactical holo display in the center of the floor. I hadn't actually imagined Command having one of those, but it fits well mate. I know this sounds a little grand, but this is how I had always imagined the Command Center to look when writing. I had made mention of the Mezzanine level, Officers standing at the rail overlooking Command, on several occasions, not of late to be honest, but the 'picture' still sticks in my mind lol. The thought behind my idea was that the Command Center was responsible for the operation of a four kilometer tall structure, it was also primary operations for the Betraka Sector (what the SB was situated prior to the disaster) so the Command Center would reflect that I think.

So... something more like this for the Command Centre Mezzanine level?

A redesign of level 9, and a view of both levels so you can see what you would see from the mezzanine. The lower level has 10m additional diameter, for the curvature of the starbase.

And two levels combined.

Some thoughts on the design: 1. Executive offices each have access to a turbolift and a conference room without having to enter the main floor of the starbase. 2. Sato Tetsutaro's office has direct acess to Intelligence offices. 3. Floating viewscreens on the command floor do not obstruct the view from the command platform. 4. Three stairwell access points from the main floor to the mezzanine, as well as six turbolift shafts. 5. Two main viewscreens, almost opposite each other, but no third viewscreen obstructing the view from the executive offices. 6. Subdevisions may exist within offices, I've just put one table in to indicate that it is an office. 7. Lower level stations - some look out directly into space around the starbase, such as docking dome control.

It's beginning to look really good Simon. Love the idea's you have and they are beginning to fit with the image I had for Command. I'd always thought of having the Mezzanine Level for the Senior Staff offices as well as Intelligence, tho i do like the idea of the Intel Offices being on both the main floor 'and' the mezzanine. I'd wondered about the bunk rooms but in certain circumstances i could see how they would be useful. Like the Docking Control, I'm picturing it having a view of the space doors while having a complimentary control within the Dome itself. The stairways fit well, while i'd always imagined there would be one or more, seeing them on the plan makes perfect sense. I had imagined the individual stations in two circles on the main floor, one inner one outer, with the duty Officer in the center, but I do like your layout. My only concern, is that you seem to have stations on both levels, while the mezzanine level only extends out from the hull to where you have the stairways, thus that upper level would terminate possibly at the top of the view-screens ?, you can see down onto the main floor from the mezzanine (kinda like an extended balcony if you will, the approx diameter of the mezzanine where it meets the top step of the stairway / top of view-screen would be something in the region of sixty to eighty meters maybe) so there would be no stations on the mezzanine itself, so offices / conference facilities plus other areas etc only. Steve.

Admiral Torek, The Mezzanine (Command Centre Upper Level)has: - 4 executive offices
- 4 conference rooms,
- 6 turbolifts (2 restricted)
- 10 meeting rooms
- 2 emergency bunkrooms
- 2 washrooms
- 2 small breakout areas (with views into space)
- 1 large breakout area (with views into space)
- 1 duty mess (which can be reconfigured as a conference room)
- 1 Intelligence and security front office
- 1 secure area (Intelligence and Security upper level)
The Mezzanine level has three wide stairways leading down to the operations floor from three places. The central area of the lower level can be viewed from the mezzanine from any location, except where the two large viewscreens are, these are as tall as two decks and they block the view from conference room 2, and the duty mess.
In the most recent image, the deck plan for both levels are overlayed on top of each other, there are no duty stations on the mezzanine level. The overlay is designed to show how, due to the curvature of the dorsal surface of the upper levels, that Level 9 is 10 meters wider than Level 8.
For clarity I have adjusted the image to fade out the lower level on the image that shows both levels overlayed. See previous posts.
Level 9: Command Centre Lower Level, has:
- 12 duty offices
- 3 senior officer's offices,
- 4 small meeting rooms
- 2 medium meeting rooms
- 6 turbolift shafts (1 restricted)
- 26 primary control stations in the central floor
- 46 minor control stations beneath the mezzanine
- 2 dedicated control areas (one dedicated to docking dome control)
- 1 washroom
- 6 breakout areas (2 with replicators)
- 1 secure area (Intelligence and Security lower level)
- 1 tactical holographic display.
The inner edges of the mezzanine walkway are 60m apart. The mezzanine walkway is 10m wide. Level 8 (upper level) has a total diameter of 100m Level 9 (lower level) has a total diameter of 110m

I have drawn 32 primary control stations in two concentric rings around the command platform, as an alternative layout to the above design.
