Hi All ..... Has anyone else heard the rumour that Patrick Stuart will be revising his role as Jean-Luk Picard in another spin-off Star Trek series ? Apparently, the as yet untitled series is set for release at the end of 2019 or early 2020 I was driving so didn't actually catch what was said, so lets see what we can find out. Personally I'd enjoy seeing Stuart back on screen as the iconic Captain, makes you wonder if any of the original 'Next Generation' cast have been approached to appear, either as a full time cast member or in cameo ... Hmmm ...............

Not rumour...it's actually happening.
The series is to be set 20 years after Nemesis, more than likely not as a Captain anymore though.

Ah this sounds cool, yes I wonder if he and other TNG actors would be main cast members or if it'll revolve around a younger generation. Perhaps a bit of both. And at last, I've been looking forward to something like this since, well, ever since the end of Voyager! lol

I've heard that legally, Patrick Stuart can't be in CBS Star Trek, because it would violate the contract between NBC and Paramount. Especially if he reprised the roll of Picard. I would be down for it and I've prolly seen the same video where he came out and said he wanted to do it and was going to, but CBS is having a hard go with this due to contract stipulations and that whole thing about them stealing the mycelium Drive and the tardigrade from some video game that dude wrote a long time ago

I have high hopes for the Picard series, I'm glad to hear it might move at a more gradual pace than Discovery, although if what I've heard about other characters' profiles is true then it's likely going to be a quite edgy, dark affair again. Apparently it's going to have something more of the 'present day' to it, my guess is that it'll be set on Earth with Picard bitter at the Federation (at least at the start).
I also heard a rumour that the established canon of the prime timeline might be torn up or ignored, except for the destruction of Romulus, something to do with naming rights and ownership of the five series prior to Discovery and not wanting to profit share.
