Ed could here the bridge crew mumbling things to one another, as the song of the bridge played over the instruments of every station. The rondo of the bridges song continued, but as the turbo lift doors opened the mumbles came to a swift decrescendo. The Andorian moved down to stand beside the helm console and observe what was being done. "Sir, may I ask why we are unable to achieve a greater speed? Surely, we could increase the engine load by a warp factor of one and not in any way harm the engines. If thermal efficiency of the matter/anti-matter reaction is a concern, then that could easily be addressed by the operations crew."
Edwin was startled by hearing a ranking officer call him sir, and for some reason became startled. "Umm. Well Sir the uh..." Ed cleared his throat and continued. "Excuse me Sir. I'll get right on it.

The Andorian shook his head in response, I did not mean to suggest that you were in any sort of trouble. On the contrary, I was simply asking a question. I fear for the lives of those aboard this vessel and believe that I should be able to help them. May I see the console, if you please? Taking the station next to him, he looked down at the controls while removing yet another tape from his uniform and placing it into the console.
This time, the tape was blank and the Andorian was utilizing it as a method of data storage. Tape archiving was nothing new. In the twentieth century, there was the development of the 'Tarball' software on Earth that permitted the data compression be stored in a ratioed format. Therefore, it was not at all a difficult occupation of the Andorian's time.
Standing up again, with tape in hand, he moved over to the captain's chair. Inserting the device into it, he marked it for playback and thus saw a projected course on the viewscreen. He was not as of yet used to giving commands on the bridge, and thus still felt it was necessary to do a good bit of the work inherent in running the science position - despite being relieved there.
"I take it, Mister Daris, that this is an acceptable course of action?"

Mira resisted the urge to scream; instead she sat up on the bed and gazed around. The pain she was experiencing, however, was evident on her face as it was twisted in agony. The nursing staff had removed her uniform and had dressed her in the patient sickbay blue's. She glanced at her bare arms, taking note of the radiation burns that were appearing.
She squirmed, covering her arms with her hands, hoping that it would make the pain go away. From behind the forcefield she saw the captain and the first officer looking back at her. The girl shot them a look of hate and fury and with a certain satisfaction watched them flinch in response.
Mira couldn't hear what they were saying but she did see the chief medical officer hold Mann back from the forcefield. She knew why, and the entity knew why too. She felt the radiation hitting her in full force and this time she did cry out.
The entity detached itself from her body, withdrawing from her mind, only to collapse in a puddle on the deck. Mira herself collapsed to the deck, leaving smears of blood behind there where she had touched the bed and the floor. Capillaries had burst everywhere on her body.
"John!" she cried out, blindly reaching towards where she knew the forcefield to be. She was bleeding from her eyes too, effectively turning her entire vision red.
A little later, she lay on one of the vacant biobeds, exhausted. She was dressed in a clean gown, her injuries dressed with fresh bandages. "Captain?" she called, remembering in one jumble what she'd done when the entity had possessed her. Through a haze, she saw Ephrem and John approach. "In how much trouble am I?" she whispered.

The initial screams coming from Mira shook Ephrem to his very core. He knew that she was going through intense pain and there would be nothing they could do for her. According to the medical readings his plan was working as planned, but the stress being put on her body had long ago passed safety standards. The second burst of radiation was just as strong, but Mira did not cry out. Her refusal to cry out forced him to look away, not able to stand the pain that he was putting her through.
"Captain the entity is leaving her body," Ryan reported as a nurse handed him a specialized container. Even though the entity was weakened by the radiation, they were not going to take any chances.
"Lower the forcefield on my command and then teleport into the container," Ryan said as he placed the container inside the closed quarentine area," lower the forcfield."
The transport took no more than two seconds, but everyone breated a sigh of relief once the entity was safely contained. Once this was done, the medical staff quickly turned their attentions to Mira. Ephrem didn't know how long it would take but he would leave her side.
A few hours later
"Captain?" she called, remembering in one jumble what she'd done when the entity had possessed her. Through a haze, she saw Ephrem and John approach. "In how much trouble am I?" she whispered.
"None at all," Ephrem said as he stood to her right," you just need to get better. The entity is safely back in the nebula and were heading back home."
The End
OOC: Alright everyone, I know this mission took entirely to long, but I'm very pleased with the outcome. Great job everyone, I'm especially proud of our newer members Thalin and Alyana. If you want to post there will be an R&R thread.
