Good going boys. I'll read it in more detail tomorrow as I'm recovering from a weekend long convention:D. I'll also check with the personnel department.

Sovas looked around and he noticed that the other men were sweating. Sovas felt a bead or two of sweat drip down from his forehead.
Sovas: What is- Oh no...
Luke Dunsmore: What is it?
Sovas: Take a look at this tricorder.
Luke Dunsmore: ...Not good!
Sovas: This conduit above us is ruptured! I am reading extremely high levels of theta radiation. It is a by-product of the Romulan engines. We are beginning to expierence the effects of the radiation. If we remain here for more than 10 minutes we'll all be dead.
Dunsmore: How could this have happened?
Sovas: Most likely that when the Romulan ship shrank, it put strain on the engines and the conduits. They ruptured and the radiation is slowly spreading. Soon, the ship will suffur a warp core breach because of the combustion that occurs when theta radiation and plasma energy converge.
Dunsmore: We got to hurry! Quickly, now. We must rescue the hostages and try to shut down their engines.
Sovas: I can take Jriss with me and we will rescue the hostages.
Dunsmore: Morgen and I will see what we can do with the engines. Let's go.

T'Mar received the report from the awayteam about the thetaradiation and the possible warp core breach aboard the Romulan vessel. She told Dunsmore and Sovas to make the hostages their main priority. "I would enjoy the pirates be brought to trial but time may be short. We will beam them out as soon as you have found them. There is a good chance they are holding them in the holding cell area." "Understood sir. Dunsmore out" he replied.
T'Mar conversed with Commander Brianon. "We must also take precaution about the power and plasmaconduits. Assign an engineering team to check them once we are back to our normal size." "I'll get right on it Commodore" Emelye replied. "Are you allright sir? You have slept even less since we ran into these pirates." "I am well enough to command this vessel. But I would eagerly disable their ship and put them in my brig. Indeed I need plenty of rest. Once we have beamed them all over and placed them into custody, I shall turn over command to you for a few days and remain in my quarters, to sleep most of the time probably." "Sounds like a good idea Commodore" Emelye smiled.

OFF: OK, I know I haven't posted in a seriuosly long time. Many apologies!!!! I am impressed that you have managed to keep the mission going so well! Now that I am back online it is a fantastic read. FIngers crossed I won't disappear like that again. Sorry again.
ON:Emelye sat at the sensor console a scowl on her face. It felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Luke hadn't seemed happy when he kissed her goodbye. She was worried about him. She was also worried about the Captain. And the away team. And the Scavvie
She had to prioritise. There was nothing she could do until Luke came back and they could talk. The Captain would rest as soon as the mission was over. And husband would be looking out for her too. That left her two main problems being the Scavenger and the away team.
There were a couple of options for the away team. She could beam them in some anti-radiation drugs, but she wasn't sure how the changes in size would have affected the chemical compounds. She could beam in some EVA suits. They would be cumbersome and might hamper the rescue effort.
She contacted Sovas and and let him know that she would have the suits ready to go if he decided that they needed them.
Now to the Scavenger. Emelye wanted to run a level 5 internal sensor sweep to check for ananmolies. But that would take up a lot of computer time. She tinkered with the options and set the scan running at a low priority. Depending on how things went the scan would probably take days at this rate. But it was better than nothing at all, Emelye thought with a sigh.

"You seem worried" T'Mar turned to Emelye. "So am I. Have you got a fix on their position yet?"
"I'm nearly there" Emelye replied. "I think I've got them!"
"Can we make contact?"
Emelye signalled their communicators.
"Sir, we really need to get out of here!" Dunsmore replied. "Next time we go in, we should be prepared for this."
"Can we beam them out?" T'Mar asked. Emelye nodded. "Stand by, we're beaming you out!"
A few minutes later T'Mar met the awayteam in sickbay. They were recovering from radiation poisoning.
"What have you learned while aboard that ship?" she asked.
"I think we can shut down main power quite easily and enter a new code to get it back online again so we'll have time to get back to normal size and arrest these guys."
T'Mar ordered them to plan their next mission while they were resting in sickbay. Next time they would go in wearing EV suits.

Sovas was lying on a biobed, surrounded by a few nurses. He had a headache, and the room seemed to spin. He began to sit up and was met with nausea.
Nurse: Easy there. You may want to lay down for a while.
Sovas: I'm fine...
Sovas began to put both feet on the ground and tried to walk but began to tremble and almost fell. The nurse caught him in her arms.
Nurse: Don't say I didn't warn you.
Sovas, irritated, sat down and rubbed his eyes. He was very tired.
Sovas: When will I fully recover?
Nurse: About a half hour ago, I gave you a hypospray. It should ward off the after effects of the radiation. But it's only temporary. You will need a regimen of hyronalin treatments for a few days. The medicine I have just given you should start to work in a few minutes. The Commodore gave me this padd to give to you.
Sovas took the padd and tried to read it. His vision was a bit blurry but he could still make out what it read.
Sovas: ...We are going back. For the third time.
Sovas had a hint of irritation in his voice. Unbecoming of a Vulcan, but he could not help it.
Sovas: EV suits. It will be difficult to manuever the ship in these. How is Luke?
Nurse: He is in the midst of recovery.
Sovas: What about everyone else?
Nurse: Everyone is alive. Morgen seemed to sustain the most damage. I'm afraid he will not be able to participate in the mission.
Sovas: I understand. Well, I believe I am ready. I would like to get down and prepare the EV suits.
Sovas began to walk out of the room. He walked slowly, still fatigued.
Nurse: Don't push yourself too hard...

Emelye had been reviewing the scans of the Scavenger. They were only 17% complete, but she might as well go over them while she had the chance. There were no anomolies so far.
Emelye decided to go down to sickbay to see how the away team were fairing. It should have been long enough for the doctor to have treated most of them. As she got to sickbay she saw Sovas leaving.
Emelye: Commander, has the doctor cleared you already.? You don't look too good.
Sovas: The doctor has treated me and the medication he has given me should begin to take effect momentarily.
He held up the PADD he was carrying
Sovas: I have work to do. We are going in a third time.
Emelye: Don't push yourself too hard. I want you to be in good shape before you go back in.
Sovas nodded and headed off. Emeyle went in to sickbay. Luke was lying on one of the beds. A nurse was giving him a hypospray.
Nurse: This should help in a few minutes
She told Luke. Emelye went over to him and gently stroked his hair. It was lucky that got out when they did, she thought. <tag Luke>

Luke smiled as Emelye stroked his hair. 'You look like Hell,' she said, laughing. "Thanks," said Luke, also smiling. He began to get up. His legs were fatigued, but he managed. Emelye supported his muscular frame, but it must have taken all her effort. After a treacherous ten minutes, they reached Luke's quarters. Emelye lay him on the bed. He was exhausted. He kissed her in appreciation and then, saucily, suggested a night in.

T'Mar visited sickbay and expressed how gratified she was to have her crewmen back on board. "We're not letting them go now. As soon as possible, you must go back and finish the job and I want you to wear EV suits." She discussed the mission with her crewmen for a bit in a casual way.
She saw the doctor approach and looked for a quick escape. However as she headed for the exit, he had spotted her and asked her to remain for a moment for a quick scan as her regular examination was overdue. "It'l just take a minute" he asured her. "Really Commodore, you must rest!" He did a quick examination and found everything was in order. "However I am ordering you to rest in your quarters for the next eight hours." T'Mar protested immediately. "Doctor, with all due respect I am needed right now! I can rest all I need when those pirates are secured in our brig." "Well I disagree" the doctor said. "Commander Brianon can handle the situation as well. You have been up ever since we ran into the pirates but your child needs you too. Take some rest sir. I'll escort you to your quarters if I have to." "No need" she replied. "You are right. I shall go to bed. Brianon will asume command." The doctor smiled. "We'll make sure you don't need to be disturbed." "Very well, only warn me when the ship is about to fall apart." She headed for the exit. "I'll come check on you in a couple of hours" the doctor said.
In her quarters she fell asleep as soon as she lay down on her bed.

The thread is stalling again I think. I think we should wrap this one up in the coming weeks and I'll check what kind of holiday thing others at section 47 are planning so we might take part in that. I think that will be fun

OOC: Sounds fun ON: Sovas was once again getting prepped for another away mission. He was unsure of Luke Dunsmore's location. Sovas assumed that he was resting up, and was in no shape to go on the mission. Sovas and a few other security guards assembled and Sovas explained the situation to them all. Sovas: Time is of the essence. In a matter of hours, the Romulan ship will have a containment breach due to the leakage of the radiation. And if the Romulan ship goes, I can only assume that the Scavenger will suffer the same fate. We will rescue the hostages. Once they are safely aboard the Scavenger, we will deal with these pirates. If we get lucky, we will have the pirates in our brig and on our way to transfer them to a Federation prison ship. Now, with our EV suits, we may find the task somewhat more difficult, we may lose maneuverability. Once we reach engineering, we will have to stun everyone, including the hostages, and get out of there before their sensors detect us. Officer: Sir, aren't they prepared for another assault? Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that their sensors and shields are already up? Sovas: Indeed. Most likely they are prepared for us. But most likely, their shields are down. The reason is unknown, but we have discovered that the Romulan's shields have been down ever since they shrank. It is logical to assume that their shields are not operational, and perhaps the shield generator was damaged when they shrank. However, we are not certain of the sensors. We assume that they are still operational. To reiterate, even as we speak, we are losing the oppertunity to rescue the hostages. Equip yourselves with EV suits and join me in the transporter room in 15 minutes. Dismissed. <tag: Are you going to be in the away team, Luke?>

Emelye met the away team in the transporter room. She carried five bags with her, one for each of the away team members. They assembled themselves in front of her, waiting for any final instructions. They looked kind of awkward in the EV suits.
“As you know, the radiation levels in the romulan ship are steadily increasing. Hence the need for the EV suits. There is also a concern that the radiation will interfere with the transport signal.”
Emelye hands out the bags while she is talking
“In these bags you will find beacons. You will need to stick the beacons on anyone to be transported from the ship. The beacons will help the transporter to locate the people to be transported from the background noise caused by the radiation. Your communications badges will provide this function for you, so the beacons will only need to be stuck to the hostages, and any pirates you bring back for detention.
“As I am sure Commander Sovas has informed you, time is of the essence. SO I won’t babble at you any longer. Good luck.”
Emelye nodded at Sovas and he led the away team onto the transporter pads. She watched as they glittered and faded away. When the last glimmer had gone she let out her breath and turned and headed for the bridge.

Good going Emelye and Sovas. I'll wake up once the awayteam is back and we'll conclude the mission. I'd also like to know how you'd feel about a joint christmas mission with several other ships. Send me a pm with your opinion on that .

Sovas and the other officers headed for the transporter room.
Sovas: I think that now would be a good time to get your helmets on. The radiation on the ship would effect us instantly without them.
Everyone nodded and placed their helmets on.
Sovas: Remember, stealth...and a bit of cunning. A bit of cleverness would be useful as well if you can manage it.
The officers chuckled lightly.
Sovas: Let's head out.
The officers stood on the transport pad.
Sovas: Four to transport.
Shortly thereafter, they were once again inside the pirates ship.
Sovas: A few meters away, there is a 3 way junction. Head to the right. We will then have to force open the wall panel and climb through. We will arrive on the upper deck of their engineering section. From there, we will sneak around. Hopefully, no one will bother to be guarding the upper deck. We will try to jump over the rail, no using a turbolift, it causes noise and they will be able to stop us.
Officer: When you say jump, do you mean jump the pirates or just jump and sneak around?
Sovas: If you find that you can incapacitate a guard by jumping him/her, then by all means do it. But if you can find another way to get in quietly, that would be better.
A few meters later, Sovas and the others arrived at the wall panel.
Sovas: On the count of three, we will open the wall slowly and quietely. 1........2............3......
They grabbed at the wall and slowly slid it open. There was one guard on the upper level, his back was facing the team.
Sovas (Whispering) I will handle this.
Sovas crawled slowly behind the guard and placed his fingers on the pirate's neck, he applied pressure and initiated the Vulcan nerve pinch. The pirate quickly passed out. Sovas caught him as he fell and dragged him to the wall.
Sovas: The upper level is secure. Let's go.
They slowly walked up to the balcony overlooking engineering. Their were three guards, walking around and patrolling the area. After thinking for a few seconds, Sovas had an idea.
Sovas: Ensign Hamm, do you see the comm panel on the wall below?
Hamm: Yeah...I see it.
Sovas: Alright, I trust you are a good shot...
Hamm: I believe so, sir.
Sovas: When I say so, I want you to fire a phaser, full blast at the comm panel. That will knock out any chance of them attempting to contact the other pirates throughout the ship.
Sovas: Osira, Logos, you two will take out the guards below as quickly as possible as I head down to the hostages and secure them. All of you will then assist me quickly in placing the beacons on the hostages. Alright...Hamm, proceed.
Hamm slid closely to the edge of the balcony and aimed for the comm panel. He fired a quick shot, but Sovas could not tell if it was damaged.
Sovas: Osira, Logos, take them out!
Sovas jumped over the side of the balcony as Osira and Logos began to fire from above. Sovas looked around and noticed the hostages, huddled in the corner. Sovas ducked as he ran over to them.
Sovas: Do not worry, you will soon be out of harms way.
Sovas took out the bag and began to place the beacons on the hostages.
The other three officers ran over to Sovas.
Sovas: Were you succesful in nuetralizing them?
Hamm: I think I managed to knock out the comm panel.
Osira: Sir, one of the pirates snuck out of the room soon after. We must hurry before he alerts the others.
Sovas tapped his communicator.
=^=Sovas to Scavenger, as soon as I give the word, beam us back!=^=
Sovas: Hurry with the beacons.
Hamm: Beacons are set.
Sovas: It looks like we will have to deal with the pirates later. =^=Scavenger now, beam us back!=^=

OOC: A lot of us are idle. I was waiting for others to reply as I thought I'd let others reply first before commenting and carrying on. I'm hoping Luke will respond. I'd like to wrap up this mission this week so those who wish and have time can join the christmas mission. As for now, I think it would be fun if the hostages are freed but it's gonna be some trouble if the pirates are to be jailed. I'll write some pirate stuff and maybe this might inspire everyone. /OOC The pirate leader learned that the hostages were gone and was angry. "FOOLS! You will never fail me again!" He killed the guards who had been responsible for the hostages, with his disruptor. They disappeared into thin air. It hardly shocked the other crewmembers. They knew they shouldn't disappoint their master or they'd meet the same fate. In this respect, their captain was a traditional ruthless pirate who wanted everything for himself and used violence and fear to keep his crew under control. Many of his crewmembers were very loyal because their captain had always been right about his strategies. This time the old pirate knew he had attacked the wrong ship. "Come about" he told the helmsman. "One more sensorsweep. They must be out there!" A sensormap appeared on the vieuwscreen and after a while, a dot appeared that was likely to be the Scavenger." Sovas was back on the bridge after his mission to rescue the hostages. He looked at his console and an alarm beeped. He brought up the external sensor display and saw that the pirates were approaching. "Commander Brianon, the enemy is moving to attack" he said. "Red alert! Commodore to the bridge!" she replied. T'Mar was roused by the red alert and knew she had to go to the bridge right away. She dragged herself out of bed and waddled to the turbolift as she fastened the front zipper of her uniform. Inside the turbolift, she noticed that her hair was still a mess when she glanced on a shiny panel in the wall. She tried to make herself look more presentable using her hands. She felt better than she did several hours before but she was definately not in the mood for battle. "What's our situation?" she demanded as she entered the bridge. "The pirates are moving to intercept us. We're evading." T'Mar carefully sat down. "Target their weapons. But be cautious, in this specific type, a hit on the disruptor generators could create an overload of their engines. It was a design flaw and that's the reason why most of these ships have been decomissioned as they could not solve the problem. It is our best shot to disable them." Scavenger approached the Romulan ship from a direction the pirates did not expect and hit their aft weapons in three clean shots. OOC: Okay, I'm leaving it up to you to see how this battle ends. If nothing is posted in the next couple of days, I'll continue, but I'd much rather have you carry on this battle for a couple of posts. Maybe I'll play pirate in between

And so the pirates were busted and sentenced to life inprisonment at a Federation detention fascility and the Scavenger and her crew got their normal size back and were very happy about it. Sorry I had to end this plot this way. It's just that it didn't appear ever to reach an end. As I previously said there's going to be a christmas sim in which others at section 47 will be involved. I need to make some arrangements this weekend and we'll get underway. If you can't participate, that's no problem but let me know. Happy weekend everybody
