Luke stared at the Scavenger in dock. He had never seen a Ship quite like her. Her design was a curious one, there was the obvious continuity with other Starfleet vessels but then there was something quite different. He had been reading over her Specs and was pleasantly surprised to find out about the "Battle-Ready" section. He supposed that this kind of thing was becoming more and more frequent in vessels of the Fleet. He just hoped that it was not the start of a downward spiral... He had seen the worst a Fleet of warships could do... He shook himself violently and took a sip of ice-cold water. He had to stop thinking of what he had left behind. That was why he had changed his name back to Luke, he felt it was an appropriate step in the right direction... He wondered how J'Leera would react. He took another sip of water and frowned, it certainly did not have the same effect as Coffee. He missed it greatly, however there was only one more week left of Lent - he could handle that... He hoped...
=^= Commander Drago, please report to Airlock 25. The Scavenger is ready for you now =^=
Luke tapped his comm badge. "Aknowledged, I'm on my way." He said, tapping the communicator again closing the channel.
He rose to his feet slowly and stared around his temporary quarters that he had been assigned for the past 3 days. He was quite unused to his own space... back in the Fleet he had to share quarters with up to 3 or 4 people... the more crew there was to man the Ship, the better. Picking up the few possessions he had he headed towards Airlock 25... The start of a whole new chapter in his career.

As soon as Luke had stepped onto the Scavenger he made for the Bridge. As he walked through the busy corridors he smiled at those he past but was greeted by looks of scepticism and doubt. He supposed it was the lack of a contemprary Starfleet uniform and possibly an unwillingness in the crew to accept a new CO after the abrupt resignation of Commodore T'Mar. He sighed, good Commanding Officer's were retiring earlier and earlier now, the stresses of Commanding a Starship in this present age overwhelming even the strongest of characters. "Captain on Deck." A young Petty Officer called as Luke stepped onto the quiet Bridge. In fact, it was just Luke, the Petty Officer and an Engineer present. "At ease." Luke said casually. He gazed around the empty space. It felt odd to see such a well lit Ship again. No battle lights, no sirens, no smoke... Just a clean, shiny Starship vessel. He walked over to the centre chair and sat down, shifting about slightly to try and make himself comfortable in the unknown. Pressing one of the many buttons on the left arm of the chair caused a small panel to reveal itself from the side of the chair. Luke smiled, it was all about making the CO's job just that little bit easier. He could review all the Ship's vital systems from this one point and, if necessary, take direct control. Pressing the comms channel he opened a link to the Ship and any comm badges of the Scavenger crew who were currently on Assailant. "This is Commander Luke Drago, your new Acting Commanding Officer. There will be a briefing for Senior Staff at 1800 this evening followed by a 'meet and greet' in Holodeck 2 for all crew at 2000. I look forward to meeting and serving with you all. Drago out." Short and sweet, just the way he liked it. "Captain, there is an incomming transmission from Mars Colony VI, it is your Father requiring your immediate attention." Luke sighed. "Put it through to my Ready Room." He stood up and walked across the Bridge, turning to face the Petty Officer before entering. "What is your name?" He asked him. "Mark Williams Sir." He replied. "Well Mr. Williams, please refrain from calling me Captain - That's not my rank." "Yes Sir... I was only following..." Luke interupted. "Yes, Yes. I know. But there really is no need." He said, before exiting the Bridge, a look of pain fixed to his face. The rank 'Captain' just made him think of all that was in the past... or the future... He sat down behind his desk in the Ready Room and entered in his authorisation code. Waiting expectantly for the talk that he knew his father was going to deliver... <TAG All> (Show me what you can do... )

Pride: Heard the announcement over his comm badge and head for the bridge. He hadn't gotten to known his last Commander Commodore T'mar but that was the nature of things to change and start new again. When he arrived on the bridge he saw his new commanding officer heading for his ready room and heard his comments to the petty officer ""Well Mr. Williams, please refrain from calling me Captain - That's not my rank." He thought to himself this is a little weird even thought he may not have the rank he is still the captain by tradition.
Pride: Took his seat at the helm and started running systems checks to see that everything checked out and to see if the engineers had added any new system updates. While he waited for the results he started to think about what was going to happen now what was there new assignment. His thoughts stopped as the results of the scan he just ran came back everything was good to go.

Paikea had been on the Scavenger for most of their R&R time working on the upgrades and making sure that the ship was ready for her new Captain. He was still a bit angry that T'Mar had left, but he came to accept the fact. Paikea also promised himself that he would try to make the Scavenger a nice home for the new CO, it would be what T'Mar would expect of them.
~Let's do this~ Paikea said to himself as he fixed his uniform and left his quarters. By now Paikea was almost a hundred percent sure that he knew everyone on the ship by name. The death of Rela made him realize that he needed to get to know his crewmembers more than just by there rank.
"Hello Remus," Paikea said as he passed the night shift CO.
"Hey Paikea, just want to let you know that the new CO is already on the bridge," Remus informed him," I wasn't there when he came on, but he does seem nice enough."
"Well hopefully he is a half as good as T'Mar was," Paikea said as he continued his way towards the bridge. As Paikea got closer to the bridge, his stomach and gut seemed to tightened.
~Come on, you will have to do it anyways,~ Paikea told himself and quickened his pace towards the bridge. Once he arrived he took a deep breath of air and walked in.
"Where is Captain Drago?" Paikea asked.
"He's in his ready room talking to his father," Mark responded," plus he doesn't want to be called Captain."
"Ok, thanks Mark," Paikea said puzzled a bit. Pai took his station and decided that what ever came would come and he would deal with it then.

Katie listened to the announcement in her quarters. She never got used to the coming and going of people on any starship. It's probably the one reason why she hasn't yet opened up to very many of the crew members.
During their down time Katie and Paikea would walk hand in hand through out the ship just talking and having fun. As they would walk Paikea would always take a second to greet any of the other crew members that passed by. It was a strange custom for Katie to watch since she was accustomed to keeping to herself.
As she finished getting dressed Katie thought it was finally time to talk to Paikea about something she had been wanting to talk about for awhile. Looking in the mirror Katie decided today was a day that she would apply a little bit more make up than normal. She wanted Paikea's attention the second she walked onto the bridge. She finished off everything with a slight dab of perfume she normally saved for special occasion on each side of her neck.
Katie walked as fast as she could to the bridge. She couldn't wait to talk to Paikea and it probably showed. As she finally got to the bridge she was happy to see that everything was rather slow.
"Can we talk?" Katie asked with a smile.
"Sure." Paikea said.
"I think we should take a trip together." Katie said with a great deal of excitement.

Illito barely visited Assailant. She had planned a short trip to Cardassia, to home, but she put it off; She didn't really feel like congratulating her brother after everything that had happened with Ambassador Rela, and it seemed to Illito that taking advantage of where the mission sent them would be somehow wrong. And there shore leave wasn't as long as anticipated. Illito contacted her brother and apologized, but she felt miserable about having to do it.
She went to sickbay to be able to do something beside brooding. There weren't many injuries, but there was always stuff to do in sickbay. Unfortunately most of the work was filling out reports on crew and various other PADD-based work. Illito repeatedly caught herself looking up from the PADD she was working on and forgetting to look down again. She sighed softly, took a hold of her emotions, and plunged herself in her work.
She was taking a break-reading the results of recent medical research done on Betazeds regarding how telepathy influenced coma patients, when she heard an unfamiliar voice come over her commbadge. She had heard rumors about who was going to replace Commodore T'Mar as Commanding Officer, she was the medical officer, and a few patients seemed to think that she had nothing better to do while healing than listening to gossip. But she didn't think she had ever heard a Commander Drago's name mentioned. Illito noticed it was almost time for the briefing, and she wrapped up the work she had been engaged in, and headed to the bridge.
Illito noticed the other senior staff members on the bridge, not in the briefing room. Illito gave Pai a puzzled glance, since he was the crewmember she knew the best, but he was busy talking to Katie. Since Illito didn't have a station to go by while waiting for the Captain to finish up whatever he was doing, she decided to go talk to Lieutenant Pride.
“Did you enjoy your shore leave?” she asked, then she realized she might not like having that same question asked of her, since the answer would be no.
<Tag Pride/Drago, should you wish to summon us to the briefing room>
-------
Nico heard the announcement from his commbadge, and smiled slightly. He liked it when the CO tried to get to know their crew, all their crew, not just the senior staff. As he was thinking about it, he realized that with the commbadge she had been given Lianna might have received the message, but she might think it didn't pertain to her, even though Nico thought of her as the most important person on the ship.
He tapped his commbadge once, to open a channel. =/\=This is Nico to Lianna=/\= he said. =/\=I was wondering if you were planning to come to the 'meet and greet' event tonight. If you wanted, I mean, I'd like it if you'd consider coming as my date=/\=Nico fell suddenly silent. He hadn't meant to say that. He had wanted to, but he hadn't thought he had the courage, though it appeared he did. Of course, if she said no or laughed at him, he guessed that courage wouldn't mean that much.

Lianna was sitting in sickbay on board Starbase Assailant. She’d been there for an hour getting the VISOR implants she’d been fitted with fine tuned. These were two small implants over her temples which further enhanced her ability to see. The only indication that they were there were the small blinking lights which could be seen if her hair was pulled back. These could be turned on and off as needed. They were still in the experimental stage and therefore would need to be fine tuned often.
She looked up as the doctor finished and gave her last minute orders regarding the implants, handing her a PADD with the information she would need to give to Illito. “Thank you sir.” she said as she slipped off of the Biobed, Phantom taking his customary position at her side.
Her combadge blipped as their new COs voice came over the comm.
=/\= This is Commander Luke Drago, your new Acting Commanding Officer. There will be a briefing for Senior Staff at 1800 this evening followed by a 'meet and greet' in Holodeck 2 for all crew at 2000. I look forward to meeting and serving with you all. Drago out. =/\=
She wasn’t sure she was going to go to the ‘meet and greet’ as he called it, still not feeling like she belonged on board. These were her thoughts as she made her way back towards the ship, moving slowly as she adjusted to the implants and the view they gave her.
Lianna was almost to the ship when Nicos voice came over the comm startling her.
=/\=This is Nico to Lianna. I was wondering if you were planning to come to the 'meet and greet' event tonight. If you wanted, I mean, I'd like it if you'd consider coming as my date=/\=
His voice brought a smile to her face, she hadn’t told him about the arrangements she’d made for the implants and hoped to surprise him, this would give her the chance to do so.
She tapped her own combadge. =/\= Lianna to Nico. I would love to go … =/\= If he was going, of course she would go. She’d have to ask if Phantom could join them or not.
Lianna paused at the airlock and patted Phantoms head. “Let’s go boy.” she turned upon entering the ship and headed for sickbay.

Luke stared at the blank screen. He had expected the conversation with his Father to be challenging... just not quite so heated. The Commandent had practically severed all ties with his son, claiming that this "Luke Drago" was not the same as "Luke Dowding" and never would be. Luke had tried to explain that he was the same, just a little older, and perhaps more weathered. At that point his Father had cut the comm, informing Luke that he did not want to speak to him again. Luke sighed and took a sip of water, again noting how this did little for him. All he wanted was a cup of Coffee.
"Not long..." He muttered. "Computer, what is the time?" Apparantly addressing the air.
=^= The time is 1756 =^= The Computer responded.
Luke stood to his feet and moved over to the life-sized mirror close to the door of the Ready Room. He stared long and hard at his reflection. The long hair tied up in a pony-tail, his scarred face... the grey eyes that were once blue.
"That's it..." He said to his reflection. "When this day is out - I'm getting a haircut."
He smoothed out the creases in his Uniform, which was now standard issue, and headed out onto the Bridge, which was considerably more full than when he left.
"Cap..." Williams started but then trailed off seeing Luke's face.
"Is this all the Senior Staff?" He asked, glancing round the crew. He recognised most of the faces from their Starfleet Personnel files.
"Would you all care to join me in the Ready Room?" He asked, before exiting the Bridge yet again. The Senior Staff followed Luke and all stood, rather uneasily by the door whilst Luke busied himself by the replicator.
"Can I get anyone anything?" He asked.
<TAG All>
Whilst he ordered from the replicator he turned and faced the Officers. "Please, take a seat, I have no desire for this to be all formal. There will be plenty of tim for that later."
Luke handed out what had been ordered and then sat down next to the surprised Cardassion Dr. Illito Tintagel he believed her name was. Luke plastered a smile to his face and looked round at the Senior Staff all sitting on the Sofas close to the door of the Ready Room.
"Well..." Luke started, before clearing his throat. "As you are all probably aware by now I am Luke Drago, some of you may be aware of the recent events on the Tiger Shark, some of you may not. To cut a long story short and to save you reading the frightfully dull report - I am from what I suppose we should call 'the future'. Some of you may recognise the name Luke Dowding, well that's me... just a long time ago. It's all very confusing but I can answer any questions you may have at another time. I can assure you that I am fir for Command so please do not have any concerns about that. I am sure the good Dr. will run a complete physical as soon as she can get me down to Sickbay anyway." He said, smiling at Tintagel.
"Now, to business." His tone of voice had changed now. It was deeper and slightly louder. His eyes showed no smile, nor did his mouth. He sat up straighter as well. It was as if suddenly he had become the Commanding Officer and not a friend in the blink of an eye. "I have two expectations from any crew. One - You show me and the rest of the crew respect by being as good an Officer as you can, no matter what the cost. and Two - You wear that Uniform with pride. I don't believe these are too hard to adhere to. Now, I have read your previous mission records and Department Head reports. You all performed admirably and I look forward to seeing this kind of behaviour from you in the future."
Luke paused and then took the chance to stand to his feet, pacing the Ready Room slightly before continuing.
"That is all for now. I will be seeing you all at 2000 in Holodeck 2 I hope. Commander Cavit and Dr. Tintagel please remain behind, the rest of you are dismissed."
As the Senior Staff left, Luke sat behind his desk and motioned for Cavit and Tintagel to sit in front of him in the chairs opposite.
"Dr." He started. "I believe as it stands you have no position on the Bridge. In my opinion this is foolish and could cost lives and I have also read your Service record, I would appreciate your presence on my left hand side."
<TAG Illito>
"Indeed, I will get a chair and arm console installed as soon as possible. You are dismissed."
Illito stood and left the Ready Room, allowing Luke to turn his attention to Lieutenant Commander Cavit.
"Commander, I have reviewed your Service record and it is impressive. However, you are going to have to show me that you are capable of being the XO of this Vessel. I have no doubts that you will be able to fulfill the position to the best of your ability, do not let me down." He had the Commanding Officer tone again, it was not harsh, more authoratative. "Are there any questions or issues that you have Commander?" He asked.
<TAG Cavit>
"Well if that is all, then I will see you at 2000. Dismissed."

Pride: Listened to there new captains speech well as he likes to be called commander for the moment anyway. He didn't have a problem with the commander rules that was all well and good with him. He did have a problem with with calling him commander pride believe in tradition and by all rights he was captain of the ship he hope the commander would come around to that. As Pride exited the ready room he had to chuckle alittle how many more people would he meet from the future. He had a sister who seemed to share allot in common with the new commander but he would take that secret to the grave before he gave it up. Pride: Returned to his station and did some programing before there meet and greet tonight. He wasn't sure what to wear or if he was suppose to bring a date. It would seem he was lost again in the world of what it means to be human. pride turned from the helm to ask Commander Apirana some questions.
"Commander Apirana can I have a moment to talk to you?" Apirana nodded
" Sir this meet and greet at 2000hrs sir I may be humane but I wasn't raised by humanes somethings are still new to me. Like what am I suppose to wear tonight? am I suppose to bring a date?"
"Sir there is one more thing I know it seems small but I wish to understand. On my adoptive home world of TEAC we honor tradition I do not understand why our new commanding officer does not wish to be addressed as captain by all rights he commands this ship why not take the title of captain it was earned. I don't understand this sir"
Pride: Waited for a reply he had hoped he hadn't over stepped himself but this new world he was suppose to belong to was a bit confusing. <Tag Apirana>

(Before the Meeting)
Paikea was glad that he didn't have to face the Captain just yet, but he knew that he would eventually soon enough. The staff meeting was due to begin in one hour.
His thoughts were uruptly brought to a halt when his nose caught a familiar smell. Paikea immediately placed it and knew who it was. Though he was suprised that she would wear it.
"Can we talk?" Katie asked with a smile.
"Sure." Paikea said.
"I think we should take a trip together." Katie said with a great deal of excitement.
Paikea looked at Remus, he smiled and told Katie.
"Okay lets go."
<Tag Katie>
(At the meeting)
Katie and Paikea had returned back just in time. They were flushed, but other than that no one noticed anything different. Paikea was surprised how war torn there new Captain was, but he said nothing. When he asked them to join him in the briefing room, Paikea was the first person to enter.
"Can I get anyone anything?" He asked.
Paikea had never heard of a Captain offering there officers a drink before the briefing, but then again Pai was not that experienced with CO's.
"I suppose I'll take some crannberry juice," Paikea said as he got glances from the other officers. He just gave a look that mean ~What he offered~.
Commander Drago began by explaining a bit about himelf, which gave Pai a headache. Pai had never met someone from the future that he knew of.
Paikea expected a mission briefing, but he the Captain stopped it and asked them to join him in the holodeck at 2000 hours.
Everyone left the briefing room quite quickly, but before he did Paikea gave Illito and Semia a 'your going to be fine' nod. Before Paikea could get to Katie, he was stopped by Lt. Pride.
"Commander Apirana can I have a moment to talk to you?" Apirana nodded
"Of course, Lt. you can ask me anything," Paikea said glad that the helmsman was talking to him. He rarely talked to him.
" Sir this meet and greet at 2000 hrs and sir I may be human, but I wasn't raised by humans. Somethings are still new to me. Like what am I suppose to wear tonight? Am I suppose to bring a date?"
"Well I'd say bring your uniform or some casual clothes," Paikea responded," the Captain said that he didn't want this to be really formal and if you have that lucky somone you should of course bring them."
"To be honest neither do I," Pai said," I also agree with you. It is a tradition that should be obeserved, but he has asked us to call him Commander and that is what we should do, when addressing him."
"Ok, thank you commander," Pride said still looking troubled.
"No problem," Paikea said as he caught up with Katie," so would you do me the pleasure of going with me to this thing the Captain has set up?"

Illito was a little surprised that Captain Drago wanted to talk to her, and even more surprised with what he wanted to talk to her about. “Sir?” she said. “If I were to have a position on the Bridge I doubt I would often use it; I believe I could save more lives in sickbay.” Illito didn't quite understand, since there were few people on the bridge, and if anyone was unable to get to sickbay she doubted she would have the resources to heal them, so she didn't know what else she would do if she was on the bridge.
“Also,” she said, after he had told her about installing a chair; “Were I to be needed I could just stand.”

Nico was working in sickbay when Lianna came in, but he glanced up as he heard the sickbay doors opening, and was pleasantly surprised when he saw Lianna rather than someone injured or reporting for a sickbay physical. He smiled at her, he had been delighted, and astonished, when Lianna had said she was willing to come as his date.
“Hi,” he greeted her, aware that it was well before the time of the 'meet and greet' gathering. Or hoping so, since he was not yet near ready. Nico noticed Lianna was holding a PADD, as if she wanted to give it to someone. “Is there anything I can do for you?” he asked, hoping that she did in fact want something, since he didn't get off duty for another fifteen minutes.

Kari muttered words that she had picked up from the freighter crew she'd done some time with. A red shirted ensign looked at her strangley but quickly backed down when he saw the stomy temper in her eyes.
the Scavenger had arrived to the Assailent. And she had JUST found out. She'd been here waiting for the bloody ship for how long? And when it gets here, people forget to tell her!
The Betazoid took a deep breath and began to calm herself down. It wouldn't do to meet her CO with a temper. Kari shifted her bag on her shoulder and walked towards the Scavenger's berthing. A show off her orders had her on board and then she was...lost. What did she do first? Check in the the CEO or the CO or the XO?
She shook her head and decided thet she'd find someon capable of reporting into on the bridge. With that in mind she walked to the turbolift and rode it to the bridge.
Stepping out, she looked around. Spotting a superior officer she walkd over to them.
"Ensign Mercia reporting for duty."

*Back at the Meeting*
“Sir?” she said. “If I were to have a position on the Bridge I doubt I would often use it; I believe I could save more lives in sickbay.” Illito didn't quite understand, since there were few people on the bridge, and if anyone was unable to get to sickbay she doubted she would have the resources to heal them, so she didn't know what else she would do if she was on the bridge.
“Also,” she said, after he had told her about installing a chair; “Were I to be needed I could just stand.”
"That is all very well Commander." Luke said with a smile. "But the chair will be installed. It makes me more comfortable shall we say..." He paused. "Indeed, I will get a chair and arm console installed as soon as possible. You are dismissed."
*On the Bridge after the meeting*
Luke sat in the centre chair, reading over a few reports on the repairs and upgrades. It was incredibly dull and was glad for the destraction when it came along.
"Ensign Mercia reporting for duty." Came a voice from his left. Luke looked up and smiled.
"Ah, you must be our new CEO." He said, standing to his feet and offering his right hand in a traditional hand shake. "I trust you are OK with everything at the moment Ensign?" He asked.
<TAG Mercia>
"Very good, well, perhaps you should find your quarters and settle in. There is a gathering of the crew at 2000, you see I'm new here as well and would like to take the time to get to know the crew."

Pride: Was at his station when he noticed the new Ensign reporting in by her facial expression she looked alittle angry. He thought I hate to have her upset with me she looks like a sand storm waiting to happen.
Pride returned to his duties he wasn't in the mood to listen in after all it would be rude. He had learned that there was a time and a place when commanding officer wanted you to hear what was going on and this wasn't it. Pride monitored the incoming messages and noticed one to him from the dock master. It would seem that they had heard he liked to use impulse drive to exit space dock and were reminding him that was against regs he had to chuckle alittle.
Commander Drago " Sir space dock says that we will be completed with repairs in 2hrs" Pride sat back in his chair he wanted to get going he didn't like sitting around he wanted to see what was out there to explore. He was also thinking of how to get out of the meet and greet he didn't do well in large groups and always felt like the outsider. Commander Apirana had always tried to make him feel welcome. What am i going to wear he thought Maybe he could bring Sandy but he didn't know how well that would go over no she should stay in my quarters for now.
Then he had a thought that even shocked him but what the hell. He sent a message to Commander Cavit asking her if he could escort her to the meet and greet. He thought the worse she could say is no it wasn't like he was asking out for romance. <Tag Cavit>

Phantom almost danced around Nico. He wasn’t wearing his harness and he was clearly enjoying his freedom and she wasn’t wearing her sensor net.
Liannas cheeks flushed and she smiled seeing Nico, he wasn’t the one she’d expected to find in sickbay, but she sure wasn’t going to complain. Not seeing Dr. Tintagel she handed the PADD to Nico.
“I thought I should get this to the doctor as quickly as possible.” she explained. “It’s regarding my new implants.” as she spoke she pushed back her hair, revealing the small implants, almost unseen. “What do you think?”

(NOTE: her implants are the same technology that is used for Geordies VISOR, but they are only implants, NOT the actual VISOR. I decided to stick with the minimum, giving Lianna a more refined and feminine look if you will.)

Rezula heard the announcement, and was glad she hadn't gone back to the starbase. She thought about another round of that drink she so liked, but decided it was for the best that she was on the ship. She had a lot of work to do, and wondered when she would be getting to work. She thought about calling a meeting for any marines on board, but then an announcement was made for the senior staff. She didn't think she qualified, but she went any ways. She figured that if they didn't want her there, then she would be kicked out.
She listened in the meeting, and wondered what the next mission would be about. She wansn't looking forward to the party later, and hoped she didn't have to attend. She waited until he was done completely, and noticed that Cavit and the doctor had left. She walked up to his ready room, and hit the door chime.
She entered after his reply, and found he was behind his desk. She made her way to his desk, and stood at attention. "Sir, reporting for duty." She said, hoping this was enough information for him. She hadn't heard anything about her assignment being posted yet, and she had hoped he had heard something about that.
"Permission, to speak freely, sir?" She asked still at attention.

After the brief encounter with his new Chief Engineer, Luke retired to his Ready Room again. There was little point in staying on the Bridge when nothing was going on and he had some important letters to write... To people he owed explanations to.
...
Some time later the door chime rang. Luke didn't bother to answer, instead he merely opened the door from where he sat and waited for the guest to enter. He remembered the character straight away as someone from the Senior Staff meeting but couldn't place a name. She was clearly a Marine but he was under the impression that there were no Marines in the Senior Staff... He actually did not understand the necessity for that particular branch of Starfleet but he just accepted what he was told... Sometimes...
Luke noted how smartly the Officer stood, well he hand to hand it to her. She wore he Uniform with pride, something that he of course respected.
"Sir, reporting for duty." She said, hoping this was enough information for him. She hadn't heard anything about her assignment being posted yet, and she had hoped he had heard something about that.
Luke nodded, not quite sure what she wanted.
"Permission, to speak freely, sir?" She asked still at attention.
"Of course." He replied, slight curiosity in his voice. "Please continue."

Pride: sat at his station thinking about everything that had just happened. Humans are very differnt I never knew how complex we could be he thought. The more he thought the more he realized his adoptive parents were right. We are still to young to move on and develope our minds but that does not explain why my family help me develope my own abilitys. Maybe they just could stand not seeing me achive my potentional. He would have to send a message to his mother and let her know he understood why Teac would not join the federation at this moment in time.
Still there was the new commander who didn't want to be called captain. I still dont understand that but maybe I'll ask. Pride made up his mind to ask the commander when he had a free moment.

She found he allowed her to speak freely, and she hoped he wouldn't mind answering a few of her questions. She still stood at attention, even though she could loose her tongue a little.
"Sir, I was in the area, but I have yet to recieve actual word of where exactly I am to be assigned. I heard I was to be hear, but that could just be a rumor," she said, not really sure if he knew. She figured she had to try though.
She hoped some light would be shed on this, and hated to think that she was here because of rumors. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened. She wanted to clear this up quickly, and hope it wasn't a misunderstanding. She didn't like looking like a fool, but she felt very much like a fool who was lost.

"So would you do me the pleasure of going with me to this thing the Captain has set up?" Paikea said catching up with Katie.
"I don't know Pai. Lieutenant Pride is kinda cute." Katie replied with a smile.
The two continued to walk and talk. Katie knew she was going to go with Paikea but she wanted to make him sweat. She had to admit that she liked teasing Paikea every chance she got.
As they turned a corner Katie noticed Paikea looking over his shoulders. When she turned to look Paikea attacked. Katie found herself pinned up against the wall with Paikea's fingers constantly tickling her. Katie tried to yell for him to stop but she couldn't stop laughing.
"So are you going to go with me?" He asked.
"Yes!" Katie finally managed to yell out.
"Good." Paikea said.
Katie was happy that Paikea had stopped tickling her but she needed to get him back for that sudden attack. Bitting her bottom lip Katie flung herself into Paikea's arms sending the two to the ground. Paikea landed with a loud oof and Katie wound up lying on his chest.
"Your a brat." Katie said with a smile.
"I know." Paikea said.
"Good. Lets go then."
"Where?"
"You'll see." Katie said grabbing Paikea's hand and pulling him to his feet.

"So would you do me the pleasure of going with me to this thing the Captain has set up?" Paikea said catching up with Katie.
"I don't know Pai. Lieutenant Pride is kinda cute." Katie replied with a smile.
"What do you mean Lt. Pride is kinda cute," Paikea said irked. He was looking at Katie intently now. He knew that she liked messing with his head, but he sometimes couldn't tell if she was playing with him or being serious.
This thought kept coming up in Pai's mind so he waited for his opportunity and took it. He had to make sure that they were alone until he acted.
"So are you going to go with me?" Paikea asked.
"Yes!" Katie finally managed to yell out.
"Good." Paikea said.
Paikea quickly gave Katie a quick kiss and continued on walking with Katie in hand. He knew that she would be doing something soon enough, so he just prepared for it. Sure enough she quickly striked.
Katie flung herself into Paikea's arms sending the two to the ground. Paikea landed with a loud oof and Katie wound up lying on his chest.
"Your a brat." Katie said with a smile.
"I know." Paikea said.
"Good. Lets go then."
"Where?" Paikea asked puzzled.
"You'll see." Katie said grabbing Paikea's hand and pulling him to his feet.
Paikea was confused, but he didn't stop Katie from leading them towards there next destination. When they arrived to the turbolift, Paikea had to ask again.
"So where are we going?"
"Some place to talk." Katie said being vague.
"Some place, now that not fair," Paikea said," that is so vague." It didn't matter much anyways, since he would hear the directions Katie would give the computer.
"Deck 3." Katie said with a wink and a smile.
~Deck 3, all that was there were VIP quarters, conference rooms, and officer quarters~ Paikea thought as he saw Katie wink at him. When Katie winked, Pai knew that she had something in mind.
Katie watched as Paikea shifted his position. He was standing directly opposite to her and had his arms folded behind his back. Letting a smile grow on her face Katie slowly slid her body against his. Now her back was pressed against his chest.
As Katie smiled at Pai, his smile grew. She was in a playful mood today, she had already played with his mind, jumped him, and was now just smiling at him. As Katie pressed against his chest, Pai could feel her warmth and smell the sweet scent of her perfume. Paikea unfolded his arms and put them around Katie's waist, just holding her. The lift doors soon opened and they both slowly walked out.
"OK come on. I still have something I want to talk you about." Katie said pulling Paikea from the turbolift.
"Ok lead the way," Paikea said as he felt himself once again being led. He usually didn't like this feeling, but he had always felt safe and comforted when he was near Katie. They soon enough reached Katie's quarters and the both walked in.
Katie waited for the door to close before she turned around to face Paikea.
"Remember how I was telling you I wanted to go on a trip?" Katie asked.
"Yeah." Paikea replied.
"Do you think we could go to Risa?" Katie shyly asked.
"Risa, you want to go to Risa with me?" Paikea asked a bit surprised. Paikea loved to travel and the thought of it just brought a smile to his face.
"Yes of course I want to go with you," Katie said as she lightly punched Pai in the chest.
"Well if you want me to go together, then why not," Paikea said teasing Katie a bit.
"Great, I knew that you would say yes," Katie said as she once again flung herself at Paikea.
Pai was ready and caught her. He held her and gave her a hug and kiss. Paikea wanted to stay with Katie there for the rest of the day, but he knew that the Captain was expecting his senior officer to appear at his get together.
"Pai, I think its time to go," Katie said winking," we don't want to be late do we."
"No we don't," Pai responded as he took Katie's hand and headed towards the Holodeck.

The mood on the Scavenger had changed like night and day. Everyone on the ship was going to go to Commander Drago's get together. The people that were on duty had made a deal with some other crewmembers, so that they could attend the last half of the party.
Paikea and Katie were not even there yet, but they noticed a good deal of people walking past them heading towards the holodeck. No one knew the Commander's command style, but Paikea felt that he knew when to have fun and when to be serious.
When they arrived in the holodeck, Paikea was pleased to see that everything was in full swing. Everyone on the ship was there and one person who he did not know. That would change hopefully tonight.
"Should we get the pleasantries over with now or later?" Paikea asked Katie who was waving at a crewmember who he barely knew.
<Katie>
Pai was about to respond to Katie's answer, when he was interrupted by Zach, his second in command.
"Sir, can I have a moment?" Zach asked a bit timidily. Zach had been on the Scavenger longer than Pai, but he was always more timid than most. It was the one flaw in the young ensign.
"Zach I told you to never call me sir, your older than me," Paikea said looking at him and then at Katie," it makes me feel old."
"Yeah I forget," Zach said turning red a bit.
"Katie I will meet up with you later," Paikea said as he went off to side with Zach.
"So what up?....."

Nico glanced affectionately at Phantom running around him. It seemed like the dog had a great deal of excess energy at the moment. “What do you think?” Lianna asked him.
Nico looked carefully at Lianna, trying to figure out what she was asking him to look at. “They look...nearly invisible,” he said, smiling, when he noticed them. He glanced down at the PADD Lianna had handed him, and back at the implants, medical fascination taking over.
“How much do they allow you to see?” he asked, taking another PADD and copying the information, as well as filling out the rest of the forms he needed to, in order to give it to Doctor Tintagel when she returned.
<Tag Lianna>[/b]
“Fascinating,” Nico replied. “When,” he started, and had planned to ask Lianna when she had gotten the implants, but then he noticed that the PADD had the date implanted already in it, so he trailed off. “Have you encountered any problems with the implants yet?” he asked instead.
<Tag Lianna>[/b]
Nico nodded. “That seems to be all then,” he said, and set aside the PADD he had filled out for the chief medical officer. “Do you want this?” he asked, offering the original PADD back to Lianna. “Is there anything else?” he continued.
<Tag Lianna>[/b]
“Well, my shift ends in about five minutes, I'll come by in a bit then and pick you up, to go to the holodeck together,” Nico suggested.
<Tag Lianna>[/b]
Sometime later, Nico had nervously decided on what to wear and was standing outside Lianna's quarters. He rang the bell, and waited for Lianna to open the door. When she did, he smiled at her, since she looked amazing. “Shall we?” he asked, indicating the direction he hoped was the best way to get to the holodeck, since it was probably going to be the way they were going.

Illito wondered why having her sitting on the bridge would make the Captain more comfortable, but didn't object further. She just nodded, and left the ready room, and then the bridge, going to sickbay. Illito was relieved that all in sickbay seemed to be fine, though she checked around to be sure.
She inputted the information to be added to various people's records, then returned to her quarters. Illito decided not to change, instead choosing to stay in her Starfleet uniform.
Illito arrived at the holodeck, and looked around. She didn't exactly like parties, and this seemed more like a party than anything else she had been to in a while, which was unfortunate. She had thought about not coming, but since she tended to be a noticeable person...She felt that showing up would be polite, and she did want to be polite. Fortunately the bounds of politesse didn't seem to involve her talking to anyone unless someone else talked to her first, and so far no one had done that.
-------
Lieutenant Aeryn Gray, former chief engineer, former Lieutenant Commander, and now just another member of the crew, regretted having come to this 'meet the CO' party. She doubted that the CO actually wanted to meet her, so there wasn't really any point to being here. Aeryn thought her new boss, the new CEO, would probably be around, but Aeryn was sure there would be many other opportunities to talk to her.
Aeryn usually liked going to this sort of thing, since there were usually people trying to enjoy themselves, but, well, Pai had never responded to her message, which Aeryn took as a sign that he didn't want to talk to her, which she could hardly blame him for, she didn't much want to talk to herself. Still, Aeryn was here now, since she had been invited, and she hadn't wanted to sit in her quarters alone. So Aeryn turned to the person closest to her, and decided to start a conversation with them.

Luke stared at the Marine, not in a rude or obnoxious way, he was just waiting for her to speak. "Sir, I was in the area, but I have yet to recieve actual word of where exactly I am to be assigned. I heard I was to be hear, but that could just be a rumour." Luke frowned. He hadn't had a chance to read over the new crew lists yet. Things had all been a bit up in the air since his arrival, technically he wasn't even in Command of the Scavenger yet. The command codes had yet to be released to him making things ten times more challenging... He felt like an old man in a old bookshop where a bull had just rampaged leaving him to clear up the mess, oddly enough it was not a new feeling. "I can look it up for you." Luke replied simply. "But I am afraid I don't have access to those lists yet. I imagine that if you are here then that is where you are supposed to be. I am sorry that I cannot be of more help but I assure you it is the first thing I will look into in the morning, but in the meantime there is no pressure. We are not due to leave dock for another day or so, I assume I shall be seeing you in Holodeck 2 later?" He asked. <TAG Rezula> "Nonsense, don't be late." He replied, standing up and leaving the Ready Room, leaving the confused Marine Officer alone. Luke smiled, it was good to keep the crew on their toes. ***** It had been a short while since Luke had left Deck 1 and the Holodeck was already looking fit for a good time. He was slightly nervous, this would be the first time a lot of the crew had seen him and first impressions were everthing. This was not like when he had received command of the Tiger Shark all those years ago, or in the future which ever way you cared to look at it, where the crew already knew him. But Luke was always up for a challenge... Standing on the small staged area, where the band would be playing, Luke gazed around the room. He couldn't remember the last time he had attended a party, let alone organise one. There had been little to celebrate in the last few years. At 1755 Luke activated the holographic band and smiled as 21st Century Earth Jazz began to play. He wasn't the biggest fan of the Jazz scene but there was something about the 21st Century that just said "Classy". Gradually the Holodeck began to fill up and Luke opened up his jacket, revealing a freshly replicated white shirt, he still wore the rest of his Starfleet Uniform, this just had more of a relaxed feel to it. Luke made his way round the crew, greeting them all, stopping and talking to some that made the effort to engage in conversation. It was an awkward time for everyone to start with but soon enough the party began to get into full swing. Luke paused and took a sip of the champagne that a holo-waiter had just passed him. It tasted good, very bubbly, a little but sharp, just the way he liked it. He looked around the room and saw Illito standing by herself. She looked awkward and alone, he wondered whether she preferred it that way. Luke had always loved the Cardassian people, especially the architecture and culture. The Dominion War had been particularly hard on him, having friends in the Cardassian Fleet... He approached the Doctor and smiled. "Good evening Doctor." He said. "Enjoying yourself?" Knowing full well what the answer would be. <TAG Illito>

Rez hadn't expected that reply, and had hoped for a more definate answer. She didn't like the possiblities, because she could end up in the wrong area. She then heard him ask about the holodeck.
"I hadn't planned on going into the holodeck today. I thought of training a bit tomorrow, to make sure things are still good in those areas. Can't be a good marine if I am a bit rusty," she said hoping to get out of whatever was going on in the holodeck later.
She heard his reply, and waited for him to leave before she returned to a relaxed stance, then she sighed. She didn't like having to attend anything, and now she couldn't get out of it. She left the ready room after he did, and headed off the bridge to go and get ready for whatever was going on.
HOLODECK 2......
She entered in a dress uniform not sure exactly what was going on here. She noticed there were a couple of people there, and the surroundings looked relaxed. She hated relaxed like this, and wondered why she was made to come. She took up a position near a wall, and began to watch her surroundings, not trusting this place was safe.
