Some time in the not too distant future...
The Scavenger dropped out of warp on the approach to the Nebula. Luke looked around the Bridge and was pleased. The crew had arrived on time for the duty shift and everything was running at peak efficiency.
"Mr. Pride, what is the ETA for entering the Nebula?" He asked.
"5 minutes Sir." Pride replied.
"Very good, keep us at full impulse until we arrive at the Nebula and then drop to one third."
Pride nodded in response and contined with his work. Luke found himself staring at the helm longingly, realistically it had been at least 20years since he had navigated a Starship... He missed the feel of the vibrating vessel beneath his hands, the sense of feeling one with the ship.
"Sir, an unknown vessel has matched our course and speed. They appear to be readying weapons." Came a voice from tactical that Luke had yet to learn the name of.
"On screen." He ordered, standing to his feet. A little concerned by this course of events. "What are our scans telling us?" He asked.
"Nothing Sir, we can't penetrate whatever type of shielding theyre using."
"They have increased speed." Pride remarked.
"Turn us away from the Nebula." Drago ordered. "As soon as were clear of any unstable matter ger us to Warp."
"The vessel is increasing speed again, I believe a weapons lock has been initiated."
"Red Alert!" Luke called, sitting back in his chair and tapping the ship wide comm. "All decks this is Commander Drago, prepare yourselves for an immediate battle scenario - this is not a war-game. I repeat this is not a war-game."
"Theyre firing!"
The Scavenger rocked as a barrage of weapons fire hit her hull.
"Weve lost aft and ventral shields." Came the report from Tactical.
"Already?! What are they hitting us with?!"
"Theyre coming about for another run - Brace for impact!"
...The presentLuke walked onto the Bridge of the Scavenger and was pleasantly surprised to see that all the positions were manned and ready. He turned to Lt. Anderson. "Ship report please Lt." He said. <TAG Katie> Luke sat down and briefly read the PADD. Everything seemed to be in order. He tapped his comm badge. "All departments report in to Operations." He closed the comm and turned to Katie again. "Please inform me when we are fit for departure." <TAG All> OOC: I'll leave it to Mr. Pride to post us leaving Assailant... I know how much fun it is

Pride: Reported early for his shift not to shocked to find there new Commander already there. Somethings never change he thought to himself the Co of the ship is always early. Pride sat down at his station and started his system checks. " Sir all system operating normally we have have clearance to leave on your orders" Pride waited to hear the words that he had longed for since they had arrived at space dock.
Commander Drago " Mister Pride take us out best possible speed Set course for the Nebula" Pride couldn't help himself ever since the Hanson he loved to upset the dock master. "Yes sir 1/4 impulse and jumping to warp 5 for the nebula." Pride new he wasn't suppose to use impulse in space dock but thrusters just didn't have that feeling you get when you leave someplace. No sooner had pride engaged impulse he got a message from the dock master informing him that he would be contacting is Commander about star fleet regs in space dock, Pride chuckled alittle I"ll have to make sure I send the dock master a case of scotch to easy his anger abit.
Pride turned to Commander Drago " Sir we have a incoming hail from the dock master for you sorry sir" Pride and Commander Drago both knew what this was going to be about. <Tag Drago>

Rez wasn't sure where she should report in to. She looked around, and decided to get to tactical, since she wasn't sure.
She moved in beside the other guy, and took over station number two. She noticed things weren't looking good, and she wondered what she missed. She hoped nothing would be too much of a problem, and checked over weapons, shields, and such. It seemed like a battle had happened, and she wished she had been there.
She got an explanation from the other officer on duty at tactical. She started a few scans, and made sure to keep her eyes on the results not wanting to be surprised. ~It was bad enough we were surprised the first time.~ She thought, and got to work.

Katie had found herself on the bridge early for a change. She was excited to finally get back onto a regular schedule. Her thoughts were distant from her duties. She thought about the trip she wanted to take with Paikea.
"Ship report please Lt." He said.
Katie realized Commander Drago was speaking to her.
"All systems are running normal sir." Katie replied.
"All departments report in to Operations." He closed the comm and turned to Katie again. "Please inform me when we are fit for departure."
"Yes sir." Katie replied.

Suddenly Rez looked up and noticed the other person was gone, and she realized why. She outranked the person who was here, and thought about mentioning it. She didn't though, and looked to see how she could keep eveyone safe while trying not to be surprised by anything.
It was a little bit later, after checking every system, and she noticed shields were at full power, weapons were online, targeting was up, everything seemed to be working for security.
=^=Rez to Ops, security and tactical station is up and running.=^=
She continued her scans to see what might be out there, and was relieved to see nothing was there.
"Who do you think you are, and what are you doing at my station?" She heard and looked up to find a woman standing there.
"I am running this station until a Federation officer comes to help out. I am the new marine aboard, and wasn't sure where my station was, so I came here. If you could help me out, I would appreciate it, ma'am," she said, standing at attention waiting for what might happen next.

" Sir, we have a incoming hail from the Dock-master for you. Sorry Sir." Pride reported from the Helm.
Luke sighed and smiled. "Not a problem Lieutenant. Inform the Dock-master that we are experiencing some difficulties with our communications network but I will respond to his queries as soon as possible. Also inform him that the CNO will be reprimanded for his misconduct." Luke winked at this point. Of course he wasn't going to do anything, he knew just as well as anyone how boring thrusters were. "Clear dock when you are ready Mr. Pride. Then set a course for the Volcheck Nebula, Warp 6."
<TAG Pride>
"I will be in my Ready Room." He said, standing to his feet. "Commander Cavit, you have the Bridge." He said to his XO. Leaving the Bridge his mind began to wander, he still had yet to have a proper conversation with his First Officer. She had chosen not to turn up to the 'meet and greet', which was fair enough but courtesy dictated that he should be informed. He hoped this was not going to be a tough working relationship. He had always gotten on well with KezTrek whilst on the Tiger Shark B and later, when receiving his own Command, he had never experience problems with his Executive Officers either, he hoped that this would not prove different.
Sitting down behind his desk he began to prepare the Mission briefing, he would call it for 1500 hours, they would be nearing the Volcheck Nebula then. It also gave plenty of time to check the Scavenger was working up to spec. He opened a comm channel to the Senior Staff, frowning slightly still over the little he knew about them.
"This is Commander Drago, all Senior Staff please report to the Briefing Room for 1500. Drago out."

Pride: brought the Scavenger around to do a quick run around the space station to make sure all systems were operating normally before jumping to warp. He also signaled engineering to let them know that he would be calling on the warp drive soon. <Tag anyone in engineering> Pride: Also relayed the Commanders message to the dock master as well as arranging a case of scotch to be delivered as well. Pride watched as the Commander got up and went to his ready room he looked alittle bothered but it wasn't his place to ask if every thing was okay. He thought the xo would do that. Still there was one thing he still wanted to talk to the commander about. Pride go the signal from engineering that everything checked out.
Pride: Plotted the course for the nebula and engaged the warp drive. He loved watching the stars go by as soon as the course was set and everything checked out pride got up and went to the commanders ready room and signaled the commander that he wanted to talk to him. <Tag Drago>

Paikea had fallen asleep full of food and he had awoken full of food. It was very possible that he might of eaten half of his weight in food. Katie of course had told him not to, but Paikea just couldn't say no. This of course would mean hours of gym time and possibly a visit to sickbay.
It took Pai a few extra minutes to leave his quarters, he had been having a hard time getting into his uniform, but once he was out he immediately headed towards the bridge. This would be the first day that Commander Drago would be leading the Scavenger in a mission and Paikea was a bit apprehensive about it. Pai liked the Commander well enough, but he knew so little about his command style. When Paikea discovered that he was being assigned to the Scavenger he immediately studied her Captain. Of course her profile didn't tell him everything, but it gave him an idea of what to expect.
These thoughts were going through Paikea's head all the way to the bride. When he stepped through the turbolift all his thoughts about Commander Drago disappeared. He saw the people that he trusted most, the Scavenger senior staff. They had been through a lot of things lately, but they were stronger for it.
"Hello Semia," Paikea said looking at his executive officer. During there R&R Paikea had been promoted to Lt. Commander. Once that happened Semia had told him to call her by her given name. Paikea told her that he would, but only when not on duty.
<Tag Semia>
Paikea then by extinct looked towards Katie's station and sure enough she was there already hard at work. He wished that she would look up and see him staring at her, but it would not happen today.
Paikea took his station and checked all scientific systems. The systems were of course ready, in fact they were better than ever before. Even though he was confident in the systems he knew that not everyone would be. So he had set up an all systems check by his science teams. It would keep them busy for a couple of hours.
"Computer send my report to the Operations officer," Paikea said as he finished his report and began looking around for something else to do.
<Tag Katie>
Paikea knew that everyone on the senior staff was already present, so when the lift doors opened he knew who it must be. Paikea was going to call the room to attention, but Command Drago called him off.
Paikea listened as he he gave his orders and smiled realizing that he had already done that. So with a grin on his face, Paikea went back preparing the ship for departure. The procedure didn't take to long and soon enough the Scavenger was out in space.
"Volcheck Nebula, Warp 6"
Paikea's head snapped up when he heard their destination. He couldn't understand why they were heading to the nebula. The nebula was usually chosen for ships needing some tactical training. Paikea's pride was hurt at this realization. He would of thought that their record would speak for itself, but it seemed that this was not the case.
"This is Commander Drago, all Senior Staff please report to the Briefing Room for 1500. Drago out."
Pai embedded the time to his memory and went back to work. He would work very hard to prove Commander Drago that the Scavenger is more than ready for any type of mission.

Illito hadn't been quite sure if the Captain expected her to go to the bridge, but she had work to do in sickbay. She hoped that he would tell her though when he wanted her on the bridge, since otherwise she didn't know.
Illito could have contacted the new officers and asked them to report to sickbay, but she chose instead to give them a chance to come down on their own. Besides, she couldn't see any reason to make a nuisance of herself now. She would have plenty of opportunity for that later.
“Is there anything I have to take care of?” she asked Lt. Avel as he was finishing up his shift.
“Yeah,” he said, setting down a group of PADDs down on her desk in her office.
“Listen,” Illito said, as he started to leave. “There's a possibility I might want you to work the day shift.” Illito knew that depended on how much time she would spend on the bridge, as well as predicted injury rates. But she wasn't going to treat Lt. Avel any differently than she would treat a different assistant CMO. “Would that be a problem?”
“No sir, it wouldn't be,” Lt. Avel replied, very easily avoiding making eye contact with Illito. Illito just nodded, and left him.
=/\=All departments report in to Operations=/\= Illito heard from the captain. She nodded at Avel, dismissing him. She did a quick tour of sickbay making sure everything was fine, then tapped her commbadge.
=/\=Commander Tintagel to Operations, Medical is fine.=/\=
Illito glanced at the PADDs Lt. Avel had left. Most of them were just updates to people's records that only she could do, but there was one that was rather distressing. A transfer form. For Commander Spiro Vassiliou. Illito sighed, she hated it when good officers transferred, and Spiro was a good officer, there was no doubt about that. She decided to get the duty part of it as much out of way as possible. She sent his medical records to Assailant, from there to be sent wherever Starfleet Command decided Spiro would go.
=/\=This is Commander Drago, all Senior Staff please report to the Briefing Room for 1500. Drago out.=/\=
Illito nodded. She had time to deal with plenty of things before the briefing. She had noticed during her brief check over sickbay that Lianna had arrived, which was good. She might be a civilian-rather than a Starfleet officer, but Illito expected anyone who worked under her to show up on time and be prepared for anything that might be asked of them.
“Are you ready to start your training?” Illito asked Lianna.

[Liannas Quarters]
Lianna had spent some time in her quarters, the clock chime alerting her of the passage of time and the fact she was needed in sickbay. She wasn’t on a regular schedule yet there but had signed up for some training with the doctor.
[Sickbay]
She arrived shortly before the doctor and took over restocking the supply cabinets while she waited. When the doctor arrived she turned.
“Are you ready to start your training?” Doctor Tintagel asked Lianna.
Lianna smiled “Yes ma’am I would like that very much”. Phantom was lying in his spot in a corner of sickbay and his tail smacked against the floor, as he wagged it in response to his mistresses answer.
Lianna laughed as she glanced at the dog, who lay his head on his paws and relaxed. “What do I have to do Ma’am.”

Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep. A small orange light in the corner of the console lit up, pulsating in the same fashion as the noise that accompanied it. The woman to whom the message was addressed presently had her back turned, and was staring nonchalantly into the vastness of space. Her shoulder length, strawberry blonde hair was tied back in a less than tame fashion, and hung in straggling whiskers over her gold tunic. Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep. The pilot of the shuttle frowned. For a moment his attention left his controls, and he turned to look at the women. Typical – she hadn’t even noticed it yet. He loudly and deliberately cleared his throat, but his passenger failed to react. With a smile he put both his arms in the air and began waving at her frantically. When this had no effect, he added bobbing up and down on the balls of his feet.
Xerin had been joining up the stars for so long now that she counted at least six different species of mammal she could see between them. She hoped they would soon be at Starbase Assailant; there was only so long a person could play join-the-dots. After a few moments thought, she caught a glimpse of something moving out of the corner of her eye. She tilted her head to get a better view, and could have sworn the pilot had been doing some sort of dance in the cockpit. Now, however, he stood completely still, looking a little more than embarrassed. Quickly, as if to cover himself, he pointed to the console behind her. Xerin looked, nodded, and then the pilot turned away. Their whole trip had passed in rather the same manner; the short, black haired man did not seem particularly interested in holding a conversation, and if she was perfectly honest, Xerin wondered if he would even have been capable of it. Nonetheless, it suited her well; she was known for being a woman of few words. Putting him to the back of her mind (which was none to easy considering the tiny space the two of them occupied) she pressed the ‘accept’ button on the monitor.
“Ah, there you are, what took you so long?” Asked a security guard on the end. Xerin raised an eyebrow, but true to her form mentioned nothing about interpersonal relations. “Technical difficulties.” She lied. The man seemed to understand. “I see. Been having a lot of those recently have we?” He added. We all love a comedian… she thought cheerfully, having no doubts about what he was referring to. The man must not have noticed because he continued, “The USS Scavenger left at their scheduled departure time, so I’m afraid you will have to play catch up. We have relayed their present co-ordinates to your shuttle. Commander Drago will be awaiting your arrival.” “Lovely.” She mused, with obvious distaste. “Have a nice trip.” He grinned at her with misshapen, yellow teeth, before leaning forwards and cutting off their communication. Xerin had been looking forward to stopping off at Starbase Assailant, even knowing it would only have been for a couple of hours. Still, she probably got the best possible view of it from out here.
An extremely long hour and a half later their tiny shuttle stumbled upon the wake of the vagabond class USS Scavenger. Gathering together her belongings, Xerin waved goodbye to her oh-so-friendly chauffeur and rematerialized in the rather larger and much more brightly lit transporter room of the ship. Feeling much better now she was free of the cramped interior of that shuttle, she greeted the transport chief warmly.
“Nice of you to join us Ensign.” He chortled with a smile. Guardedly, Xerin watched him for any signs of insincerity, but his humour seemed to be harmless enough. “Yes, I apologise for the tardiness. Apparently there was some mix-up with the shuttles at the other end. They gave mine to somebody else.” She explained, rolling her eyes. The man did a quick double-take at this maneuver, having only just realized her pupils were deep purple. “That was, careless.” He commented, recovering himself well. “Indeed. I had to wait for the next one.” She complained. “Well, now that you are here, there is a briefing about to start, so I’ll have your belongings taken to your quarters if you would like.” He asked her, knuckling down to official business. “Is this all you have with you?” He questioned, seeing only one bag and one small box. Xerin shrugged. “I travel light.” “So it would seem…” He mused, picking up the small crate-like container beside her, and was most surprised when its contents rocked violently. Holding it at arms length as it gave a soft ‘Meow’ he gestured that the woman should go through the door before him. Obliging, Xerin passed into the corridor and asked directions to the nearest turbolift.
“Oh, and be careful with him.” She called over her shoulder to the chief who was still holding her pet box. “He hasn’t been baptized yet.” She added with a grin.

Katie jumped a little as a message come to her. Looking it over she noticed it was from Paikea. She smiled and tried to image what it was about, but finally noticed the message was purly buisness. She didn't let her smile leave her face as she had a wonderful message in mind for him.
Nothing was really going on and Katie found it hard to stay focused. She thought constantly about the vacation she had planned for herself and Paikea. She thouht about the warm sun on her back, the escape from the daily buisness of the ship, and most of all spending the entire time with Paikea.
Katie sent a text message back to Paikea's station and waited for him to look at it. After a few moments he looked up from his busy work and Katie stuck out her tongue. She couldn't help herself, she was getting bored and she felt a need to do something about it.

Rez noticed the chief, and stepped back to the secondary station transferring everything she was doing there.
Her gaze swept the bridge, and she just happened to notice the ops officer stuck her tongue out. Rez wondered what was going on.
I don't know all the human greetings and such, but I don't remember sticking your tongue out to be something in that area. I could be wrong, but I do believe the human ambassador I met did say it wasn't a good thing to get another human to stick their tongue out at you. She sent the message to the ops station, and went back to work.
Her scans showed nothing as of now, and she liked the peace and quiet for once.

"Come". Luke said as the doorchime to the Ready Room sounded. He usually did not like distractions when he was working but reading over previous mission reports and ship status reports was just plain dull and for once Luke welcomed the intrusion. He smiled as Lt. Pride came in and rose to his feet, he liked this Officer, there was something about him...
"What can I do for you Lt, please take a seat. Can I get you anything?"
<TAG Pride>
Luke sat down behind his desk again and pressed a few commands on the small replicator pad on the finished wood. He passed the beverage to the Lt. and took a sip of his own.
"So, what is it I can be doing for you Mister Pride?" He asked, taking another sip of his coffee and waiting politely.

"Excuse me Lt." Luke said before tapping his comm badge. "Go ahead." He replied.
=^= Shuttle Nepal is due to arrive within the hour with the Scavenger's new CTSO, apparantly there was some mix up and so she was unable to meet us at Assailant =^=
"Very good, inform me of when the Shuttle arrives. Drago out." He closed the comm and took another sip of coffee. "Now where were we?" He asked.

Pride: Entered the Commander ready room and offered him a seat "What can I do for you Lt, please take a seat. Can I get you anything?" " I'll have what ever you are having sir" Just then the Commander was notified about the shuttle. Now Lt where were we
Pride: " First sir I would like to say that I'm sorry about the dock master but I couldn't help my self I promise in the future to try and show some more restraint"
Pride: " The second thing I would like to talk to you about is being allowed to store my fighter here on the Scavenger when we return to space dock if thats okay with you. Its not big and wouldn't take up much room its kind of a special to me it really old and out dated a collector item but she's sound and well kept"
Pride: " The last thing sir its kind of hard I"m trying to understand humans I'm sure you already know that I wasn't raised by humans so somethings are new to me. I guess sir and this is a personal thing I just don't understand why I can't call you captain. On my world tradition is a good thing and I thought it was the same here. I know that this is none of my business but I feel like you should be addressed as captain in keeping with tradition. I know that I'm just Lt JG and its not my place to tell you anything I'm just trying to understand how humans deal with tradition if its something that comer's and goes" <Tag Drago>
Pride: Sat back his heart was beating a little quick from being nervous. After all he just asked his Co why he does things the way he does. Pride closed ed his eyes and relaxed and got his heart to slow down.

Semia sat in her chair cross legged the bridge thinking to herself over looking the duty rosters on a PADD, when she looked up and saw Xerin standing in front of her at attention, her eyebrows rose in surprise and she stood up and shook her hand, "I take it you would be our new tactical officer Mrs. ..."
"Xerin...Xerin Cole" She smiled and shook Semia's hands and then looked startled.
"Wow, cold hands."
"Sorry" Semia smiled "Trill trait, so I'm your first officer, Semia Cavit." "Pleasure to meet you Commander and I apologize for the lack of meeting up at Assailant. My shuttle pilot was a tad bit idiotic."
Semia waved her hand as if to brush it away and smiled warmly "Don't worry about it; they are letting kids to the transport work now instead of a competent navigation officer to do the job."
Leading Xerin to her post Semia held out her hand towards the ops station and grinned welcome aboard Mrs. Cole, take your station."
"Yes ma'am."
"The captain is in his ready room I’ll wait till he's out to surprise him your here."
Xerin smiled and nodded with approval and then she looked around the bridge and sat in the command chair once again.

Luke sat back and listened to what the Helmsman had to say. He smiled as Pride talked of his Fighter, he could see no reason why the Lt. should not keep it on the Scavenger... and besides Luke wanted to have a look himself.
"Thank you for talking to me so freely Lt. I respect that." Luke started. "First of all, there is no need to apologise for your conduct when leaving Dock. I would be a hyprocrite if I were to punish you for it, and we all know how dull thrusters are." He said smiling. "As to your fighter, I would love to have a look at her construction and see how she flies so by all means bring on her onboard the next time we are at Assailant, I will clear hanger space for you." He paused, not entirely sure how to approach the next and final point. He realised it must seem odd to most of the crew, but there was just no easy way of explaining it.
"I understand why my choice of title may be of some confusion." Luke started. "Generally those who receive a Command, no matter what their rank, would accept the title of Captain. However, from my experience you don't just get given the title of Captain as part of a package deal with a Starship, you earn it. I have seen many people come ago as Commanders of Starships and if that has taught me anything, getting too comfortable with a Command just make things harder." He frowned, realising he was making little or no sense. "I'm sorry if I making things more confusing for you Lt. It is a hard topic for me to discuss, especially as Temporal Investigations have got me under a tight leash as it were about what I can and can't say."

Pride: Was happy to know that there new Commander had done the samething when he use to fly starship add the fact he would be allowed to bring his antique fighter aboard. " Thank you sir for permission Im sure you would love it, it still runs off chemical fuel and relys on thrust she not fast but the cockpit is glass and the controls are stick and thrust.
Pride: Listened as his new Commander try to explain he was still alittle lost. " Sir I meant no disrespect, Its just hard sometime to understand a world I"m suppose to belong to but wasn't raised in I dont blame my parents if it wasn't for them I would have dieded along time ago. What they have taught me more then make's up for what I lack about human. The only thing I can see sir, is starfleet does not hand out commands to anybody you have proven to them you are ready to command as for this crew sir we see you as captain, I know that you want to prove it to us but you dont need to. We trust starfleet and in that we trust you. I will try not to call you captain but can not promise to like. As for the future me and you should exchange stories sometime, It would seem no matter where I go I meet somebody who is out of time what are the chances of that happening. I know you have things to do sir I will not take up anymore of your time sir, But before I go sir I would like you to know that it would make the crew feel better if you would change your mind about the captain thing, The title of captain is more then that to us, it give's us the sense that you will always bring us home safe, I'm not saying that you wont do that sir but it would be a comfort to us if you would rethink this sir, I also hope that I have not insulted you or over stepped my bounds as a Lt JG. <Tag Drago>

“I was thinking we could start with the uses of some of the tools,” Illito suggested. “Unless there's something you would like to know more?”
<Tag Lianna>
“Excellent. I know it can be difficult to remember all the specialized tools,” Illito said, although she really didn't. She had, and had always had, an eidetic memory, but she didn't believe in pointing that out to others. “So we'll just cover a few.”
<Tag Lianna>
Illito took a few steps to a shelf that held medical tools picked up the first available tool. “If you wanted to do an organic tissue analysis you would start with this. It's a microtome,” she explained, handing it to Lianna to look at. “You can take samples of tissue, then use the sonic separator,” Illito gestured towards the rather large machine, “to divide the tissue sample into small bundles.” Illito started to walk towards another machine, gesturing at Lianna to follow here. “which would be analyzed with this, the detronal scanner.” Illito glanced at Lianna, trying to gauge her reaction. “I hope this isn't too boring,” Illito apologized, but knowing the names of all the equipment could be rather necessary for communicating with other officers in the case of an emergency.

Luke sighed. He understood what Lt. Pride was saying, but he doubted that anyone would ever understand what he meant.
"Of course I will consider what you have said." Luke decided. "You are a member of this crew, and as such your opinions and feelings are vaild. I will put some serious thought into this matter. Now, is there anything else Lt.? I have a mountain of reports to file and a briefing to prepare."
<TAG Pride>
"Very good. I will see you at 1500."
Pride stood up and left the Ready Room, leaving Luke to his thoughts. Pride was right, Starfleet had chosen him for this Captaincy but no matter what anyone said he felt like he had something to proove... It was a fatal flaw in Luke's personality, he always had a point to prove.
Staring down at the PADDs Luke frowned. He was bored of this. Accessing the console on his desk Luke began to construct a letter to J'Leera, it took a few attempts as he wasn't sure quite what to say to her. In the end he had something that resembled a letter, although it's content wasn't exactly thrilling...
J'Leera,
I hope this letter finds you well. It is quite strange for me not to see you everyday, not to talk to you, or even just to sit in silence with you. I miss the Tiger Shark and her crew but I appear to be settling in well on the Scavenger. Of course, Temporal Investigations are keeping a close eye on me. Three new crewmembers joined the Night-shift Bridge team before we left Assailant with no apparant service records... It's all fun and games isn't it?! I hope to see you soon, letters are so impersonal and there is so much I want to talk to you about, explain to you...
Send my regards to the others, tell Max and Kez I will write to them soon when I figure out what I need to say.
Luke
He re-read the letter a few times and changed it from Lex to Luke and back again, eventually deciding to keep it as Luke. This was who he was now.
"Computer encrypt and send to Laika, Commander, J'Leera - USS Tiger Shark B."
=^= Encrypted and sent =^= The computer responded.
Luke leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. His stomach gurgled loudly and he shifted uncomfortably. He needed food and there was no way he was going to get the reports sorted on an empty stomach. He approached the replicator and ordered a plate of Pancakes... He laughed out loud to himself as he remembered a conversation he and J'Leera had had a long time ago...Breakfast food for dinner? He had asked. Ever since then he had developed quite a taste for pancakes at random times of the day. Munching on the food Luke thought back to his days at the Academy and his mind soon led him to remember his old ship mates on the Hepta. That mission had made him face a lot of his inner demons, being forced to fire on his crewmates position had changed the way he approached life forever, for better or for worse. Looking back was always tough and Luke realised how little he kept in contact with his old friends. Dimitri had left Starfleet years ago, as had Peter. Luke knew Kevin was still enlisted and of course J'Leera was... As soon as the briefing was over Luke would set about reforging old ties. It would be an interesting letter... him not being the same and all...
Look spent the rest of the afternoon reading over crew rosters and department reports. It was dull work, but came with the Chair. The time soon came for the Briefing to begin so Luke left the Ready Room to find the Bridge had emptied itself of Senior Staff. They must already have left he mused. Arriving at the Briefing Room he had little time to prepare himself before everyone started to arrive. Not that this would need much preparation, he smiled to himself.
"Greetings all." He said, when everyone had taken their seats. Luke remained standing, smiling round at them all, as he looked round he stopped at a face he did not recognise straight away before the face sunk in. He stood motionless for a minute, his breath taken away from him.
"Commander?" Cavit said from beside him.
"This Briefing is dismissed." Luke gasped. "We will discuss the mission at a later time."
"Sir?" Came the confused replies.
"I said DISMISSED!" Luke yelled, leaning against the chair at the head of the table. As the Officers hurried out Luke took deep steadying breaths.
The face...
It was her...

Paikea didn't expect a message back from Katie so soon, but he did as she asked. When he looked up at her station he saw her sticking her tongue at him. He smiled and gave a small chuckle, much to the bewilderment of the rest of the senior staff.
Paikea stopped looking at Katie and went back to his station. It took him only a few moments to send her another PM reading, ~Your are bad, you know that~
<Tag Katie>
A few minutes later their little fun had to cease as the Scavenger began pre-launch procedures. It didn't take very long, but Paikea had to say it was one of the smoothest pre-launch he had ever been a part of. He must be a really good pilot, Paikea thought amusingly.
Commander Drago, soon left the bridge and left Semia in charge.
"Commander, do you know where this mission is taking us?" Paikea asked hoping that Semia would know more than him.
"Paikea, we are in the same boat, I know as much as you," Semia responded as she walked towards the new member of there crew. Paikea didn't like that the XO didn't know the mission, but let it go. It was Commander Drago's first mission on the Scavenger, so he had a lot of leeway.
Soon enough, five hours later, his questions were answered when the Commander walked out of his ready room and asked everyone to follow him into the briefing room.
Paikea allowed everyone to go in before him, but he hesitated when it came to the newest member of the crew. Her appearance was that of everyone else, but something was different. He couldn't place it, but he let it go thinking that it was just him being overly curious.
Paikea took his seat next to Katie and waited for Commander Drago to begin the briefing. After his initial greeting, Pai prepped up and waited to be informed, but something very strange was happening. The Commander's face became distorted, his face was locked on the new officer. Paikea seemed to be the only one who noticed this, but he was even more surprised when the Commander told everyone to leave the briefing room.
In there confusion everyone asked for an explanation, but Drago was in no mood to explain himself as he screamed everyone out. Everyone quickly left the briefing room thinking to each other what was wrong.
"Who are you?" Paikea asked the mysterious crewmember," I saw how he was looking at you. He knows you and it seems that he wasn't expecting to see you."

Rez worked hard, and then the briefing came. She went figuring if anyone didn't want her there they could throw her out.
She found it strange that the briefing was cancelled just as it was about to being. She didn't ask any questions, knowing not to question a superior, and left immediately. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she knew it wasn't her business. She went back to the security station, and checked to make sure nothing was amiss. She found in one quick scan that nothing out of the ordinary passed near or around them. They were in space now, and nothing threatened them, just the way she liked it, peaceful.
She noticed Pai and some new crewmember conversed. She wasn't sure who the woman was, but decided to find out. She did a search on the ship's database to see who she was, and found it was her superior officer. She was a little shocked, but not much. She didn't show it, and got back to work very quickly.

Kari blinked at the sudden turn about. SHe'd sat as close to the door as possible when she had arrived. And as what the Commander had said sank in she stood up and scooted out the door as fast as she could.
Yet despite her hasty exit, there was a look of worry in the young Betazoid's eyes. Depite her mental blocks being up, she had felt the Commander's distress. He had been...well...she muttered a soft curse very softly under her breath as she sat at the engineering console, she didn't know what he had been. That was the downside of not really wanting your abilities you tended to not want to use them, but when they could come in really good, you didn't know how to translate the data that came through. Yet if she was a betting woman, it was bewildered. That was what the Commander was. Startled and bewildered. Yet why?
SHe flicked her eyes up as she head a question being asked. Her black eyes focused on the Commander in science teal. Good question. Deciding to wait before beating her full retreat ot her engine room Kari tilted her head and listened.

Pride: Was just as shocked as everybody else when the commander cancelled the Meeting. He noticed the commander was looking right at the new officer that had come aboard like he knew her. As they exited the ready room pride could tell that the senior staff was at alost.
Pride walked over to Commander Cavit " Commander is this normal I mean do we always end meeting before we start them" Pride thought alittle more on it and " Commander I dont mean to be rude but would seem that his knowledge of the future with a certain officer might become a problem" <Tag Cavit>
Pride went back to his station and assumed his duties for the moment like everybody else they were waiting to see what there new commander was going to do < Tag anybody who wants to join in>

As the Commander’s eyes rested upon her a strange feeling came over Xerin. Blood suddenly flushed to her cheeks, and tiny droplets of sweat marred her forehead. She did not know where to place her own eyes, on the floor, on the table, toward another officer; anywhere was better than meeting his. She felt the warmth rising in her cheeks, she must have been blushing by now, because not only was the Commander’s horrified gaze fixed upon her, but by now the others were intrigued as well. Her heart beat against her chest, sending thundering ripples through her hot face: she imagined it was plenty loud enough for the others to hear in the silence. Her discomfort lasted only a few seconds, but to Xerin it seemed like a lifetime before the Commander finally broke the silence. "This Briefing is dismissed. We will discuss the mission at a later time." Several staff members voiced their objections, but the Commander was having none of it. Quickly the briefing room cleared of staff, but Xerin was out the door before most of them had stood up. Back out on the bridge she suddenly felt a wash of cold, as the colour drained out of her face. Her mind was racing as she scanned her memories for the Commanders image. There was nothing, nowhere she could place him. And yet, he certainly knew her from somewhere.
By now several other staff members were back on the bridge, and had passed by Xerin to take their places at their stations. One of them was the first officer, who had perhaps tactfully decided it was wisest not to question the new officer in the public of the bridge. The chief science officer, however, had other ideas. “Who are you?” He asked pointedly, approaching her after the briefing. “I saw how he was looking at you. He knows you and it seems that he wasn't expecting to see you.” “I had noticed thank you.” Xerin snapped, taking his question as a personal attack. “And as for who I am, Xerin Cole, Chief Tactical and Security officer.” She replied rudely. Taking her mood into account the other officer probably thought it best to reschedule the lecture about how to address a senior officer for a later date. “Well, Miss Cole, you seem to have had rather an affect on our Commanding officer.” Paikea commented in a more thoughtful tone. Xerin took a deep breath. She hadn’t meant to bite his head off, but on reflection his questioning had been rather bold. “So it would seem…” She said, and trailed off as she put a hand to her mouth in thought. By this time they had walked together across the bridge and reached the Commanders science station. Xerin leaned her elbow on the side and covered her face with her hand. With a frown Paikea took in her worried expression. “You don’t know what you’ve done do you?” He said. Xerin shook her head. “If you asked me five minutes ago I would have said that was the first time I had ever seen Commander Drago. But he seems to think otherwise.” She shot a quick glance at Commander Cavit, whose back was turned to them at that present moment. “In fact, maybe you could help me...”
The two officers bent low over the science station, staring with intense faces at what the screen had revealed. At Xerin’s request Paikea had run a comparison between her service record and that of Commander Drago, to see if it would throw up a match. Xerin had barely been out of the Academy for eighteen months, and could still not recollect a time when they might have stumbled upon one another. “Damn, no match.” Paikea said disappointedly as he stood back from the console with a sigh. Xerin exhaled, her confusion deepening. “What am I supposed to do know then?” She said in an exasperated tone. Paikea shrugged unhelpully. “Hey, wait a minute…” He said, progressing back to the screen, “According to this Commander Drago has no service record before 2391, or at least, not one we can get at…” “That’s interesting. You think I knew him from then?” She asked unconvinced. “Possibly, but you seem adamant you don’t remember him.” He pointed out. “I never forget a face: that’s what’s worrying me.” She replied truthfully. She got the feeling Paikea was starting to believe her now, and he seemed to be taking as much interest in her dilemma as she was. “Well, I’m all out of ideas.” He declared sadly. “Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how the mystery unfolds…”
OOC: Sorry its not very interesting...
