When Curie stepped back aboard the Excalibur it was with a great feeling of relief. He had spent so long being debriefed by command he thought he would never be allowed to return to his ship. The Admiral’s had wanted to know every detail, the conformation that the Klingons now had cloaking technology, details on the Yogons, the peace agreement Curie had made with them. Only a small time had been given to how well the Excalibur herself had fared on her first mission. But finally the Admiral’s seemed satisfied that Curie had done everything the best he could, and now the Excalibur had a new set of orders.
Arriving at the nearest turbolift, Curie jumped as the doors whisked open and his eager young Yeoman, Rachel Curtis came rushing out.
“Captain!” she exclaimed, “Your early, I was just coming to welcome you back aboard sir.”
“Thank you Yeoman,” Curie said, trying to enter the turbolift, but Curtis was still blocking the way.
“Is everything ok now Sir? What did the Admiral’s say? Are you in any trouble? Can I get you anything?”
“Everything is fine thank you Yeoman,” Curie said, “I just want to get to the bridge.”
“Oh, of course sir,” Curtis said.
“And right now, your stopping me getting there,” Curie said, in as nicest voice as possible.
“I am?” Curtis asked confused, then it dawned on her where she was standing, she promptly walked back into the turbo lift, clearly the way for Curie to enter.
“Thank you,” Curie said, walking in and grasping one of the hand rails, “bridge,” he instructed, as the doors closed and the small carriage rushed back up the ship.
“What crew do we have aboard Yeoman?” Curie asked as he waited for them to arrive at the bridge.
“Just a skeleton crew sir,” Curtis reported, “most of the crew enjoying leave on the starbase.”
“I see,” Curie said, as the turbolift arrived at the bridge, “order all crew to return to the ship,” he said as he stepped out onto the Excalibur’s command centre.
“Of course sir,” Curtis said, stepping onto the bridge after Curie, “I’ll get on it right away.”
“Thank you Yeoman,” Curie said, as he walked around the circular bridge. Some minor modifications had been made to the colour codes on the ship. Standard procedure after enemies like the Klingons had been aboard, but apart from that the ship was just as he left it. He ran a hand along the sleek black console, as always it was dust free. As he approached the forward helm/navigation console, he was pleased to see it had been repaired following the explosion during the last mission that had injured Lt. Richards.
Finally he reached the centre chair, as always just the sight of it sent a shiver down his spin, sitting in the chair, he allowed himself a few seconds of pleasure to contemplate how lucky he was. Then he picked up his Captain’s log.
"Captains Log Stardate 5956.7
Following an extensive debrief from command, I have received new orders, we are to escort Governor Jason Karr to his new assignment as Governor of New Bath. Once there we are to assist in whatever help the colony needs, and then return outgoing Governor Malcolm Thomas to Earth. The journey will give us the idea opportunity to continue to test the Excalibur’s limits, and allow the crew to continue to bond. I have ordered all crewmembers to return to the ship, and galley has been told to prepare for a diplomatic banquet. I can only help this mission will run as smoothly as is expected. Although I have learned things very rarely go according to plan in space" Ending the log, Curie passed it to Yeoman Curtis, who had returned after issuing the orders for the crew to return.
“I’ll be in my quarters,” he said, rising from the chair, “inform me when the senior staff arrive.”
“Yes Sir Captain Curie,” Curtis said in her eager voice. As the turbolift doors closed hiding him from the view of the bridge, Curie wondered how he was going to survive another mission with pretty, but annoying Yeoman Curtis.
OCC: OK everyone, this is it, our official second mission. If everyone could post having there characters returning to the ship, maybe meeting up with other crewmembers and discussing what might happen. We will be having a diplomatic dinner to welcome about the Governor. I think the focus this mission should be on further developing our characters, and the relationships between them. From the mission plan I posted last week, you can all read the main events that are to happen, hopefully these will give you some idea on what to post.
I hope this mission can be an enjoyable experience for us all ;D

Mira Green stood in the middle of the rec-deck on the USS Excalibur, looking extremely concentrated as she hefted her quarterstaff. After standing poised on one bare foot for a few seconds, she suddenly shifted balance and jumped in the air, using her staff to give herself lift and distance. The young tactician landed a few meters away from her original position, carefully balancing on her other foot.
Slowly, she turned around and punched the air with the butt of her staff, then balanced on one foot and performed a perfect round-house kick in the air. "Owh!" she exclaimed, as her food connected hard with something solid. She fought to catch her balance, but the sudden stop had left her terribly off balance and she fell over. However, she wasn't trained for nothing and she covered her failure in a nice shoulder roll, landing herself back on her feet.
Looking up, she found herself staring directly at Robert James. "I'm sorry sir, I didn't see you there," she apollogized, "I hope I didn't hurt you?" She smiled shyly at him, then she got an idea.
"I saw you fight with that Klingon, it was very impressive," she said, leaning against her staff if only to give herself a posture, "sir I was wondering, could you teach me to fight like that? I could use a new challenge, and why not Klingon fighting styles? It would give us more edge should we ever encounter those creeps again."

Lt. Richards, Commander Dawkins, and Nurse Mann were all making there way to the ship. Until the call came from the ship to return, they had been in one of the station’s more ‘unusual’ clubs, now all three of them were feeling the effects.
Just as they reached the airlock entrance for the Excalibur, a middle aged gentleman approached them eagerly.
“Just the sort!” he exclaimed excitedly, patting them all on the back, “I could do with some help getting my luggage aboard, and you three young men will do nicely.”
“I am sorry you are?” Dawkins asked, not recognising the man.
“How silly of me!” the man exclaimed again, “where are my manners? I am Jason Karr.”
“The Jason Karr?” Mann asked.
“You have heard of me,” Karr beamed, a politicians smiled if ever there was one.
The three Starfleet Officers all exchanged worried glances, no one had said anything to them about Jason Karr coming aboard.
“Can I ask sir, why you need to bring luggage aboard the Excalibur, we are not a passenger ship,” Dawkins said.
“Why Commander, has no one told you?” Karr asked, “You are to be transferring me to my new assignment.”
“That explains it,” Richards muttered to Mann, who chuckled.
“Now, can you help me with my luggage?” Karr asked.
“Of course sir,” Dawkins said kindly, just show us the way.
“Excellent,” Karr said, “follow me.”
When they saw Karr’s luggage, the eyes of the three officers almost popped out, there was so much! Huge massive cages filled with bags, and equipment.
“Come along lads, we haven’t got all day,” Karr said, as the three men all exchanged looks of dread.

KAT made her way to her station to get ready for anything she might need to do. She wondered on what the mission was, and if there would be anything scientific. She sighs, and continues to check her station. Everything seems to check out, and she hopes that little incident last mission was forgotten by now.

Jack entered the Bridge and smelled the air. "Hmm, I love the smell of starships in the morning," he said cynically. Some junior crewmembers saluted him. he answered their salutes and went to the Captain's Ready Room. Jack was not too happy about Ambassador Karr using him as luggage boy and he wanted to know what exactly was going on. The Captain did not answer the chime. "Computer, locate Captain Curie." #Captain Curie is in his quarters.#
A few minutes later, Jack chimed at the Captain's quarters. "Enter," came the Captain's familiar voice from inside. Jack entered. "XO reporting aboard Captain."

*Entering the rec deck RJ noticed the young second navigator ruining through a katra, with a bo or quarter staff as some refer to it. Stopping to look she suddenly used the staff to change direction and gain distance right next to where he was standing. As she landed and went into a round house kick RJ could not resist hold out his hand to make contact with her foot, just to see how she reacted.*
Green: Looking up, she found herself staring directly at Robert James. "I'm sorry sir, I didn't see you there,"
James: That's ok Chief I just could not resist seeing how you would react to an unexpected encounter.
Green: "I saw you fight with that Klingon, it was very impressive," she said, leaning against her staff if only to give herself a posture, "sir I was wondering, could you teach me to fight like that? I could use a new challenge, and why not Klingon fighting styles? It would give us more edge should we ever encounter those creeps again."
James: Thank you I usually get the response; not bad for an old man. But I am not sure you would want to learn the way of the Warrior as I had to. I guess I could have you join the class I will be giving to the new Security Officers. It is really funny how I ended up learning about Klingon's. I grew up in orbit of Mars at the ship yards. I seemed unable to stay out of trouble until I meet up with the long time Co of the station a Vulcan named Larok. He had been a deep undercover agent at one time and spent many years in the service of a Klingon House as a teacher. He said many times he learned a hundered times more from the Klingon's than they did from him. I spent many hours training and learning from him. He never asked anything of me but told me one day he would need me to do a job for him. He is now chief of Star Fleet Intelligence and I keep expecting him to call in the debt. <Green>

OCC: OK I am a crazy person lol I made this post on Monday, but posted it on the wrong thread! So here it is again:
“Welcome back aboard Commander,” Curie said, putting his book down, “I trust all is well?”
Curie noticed that Dawkins was standing rather tense, almost as if something was on his mind. Recognising the expression of anger on the Engineer’s face, Curie stood up to face him.
“Are you ok Commander?”
“Captain, myself, Lt. Richards, and Nurse Mann were approached by a gentleman, claiming to be a passenger on the ship, who wished us to carry his rather excessive luggage,” Dawkins said in one angry continuous breath.
“I see you have met Governor Karr,” Curie said, smiling slightly, “he is indeed going to be our guest for this mission.”
“And the luggage?” Dawkins asked.
“I shall arrange for some crewman to help him,” Curie said reassuringly, “I’ll be briefing the entire staff on the mission as soon as everyone has returned to the ship.”
“With respect sir,” Dawkins said slowly, “we are surely better suited for a more changeling mission than being a mere passenger service.”
Curie laughed at that, and then handed his XO the large padd he had received that contained his orders. He saw Dawkin’s eyebrows go up in surprise as he read the details of the other part of their mission.
“Command really thinks that could happen?” Dawkins asked shocked.
“Apparently,” Curie replied, “and if it does happen, Excalibur needs to be ready.”
“I’ll prep the crew,” Dawkins said, more to himself than to Curie, “we will be ready for anything.”
“Good,” Curie said, taking the padd back from Dawkins, “arrange for all the staff to report to the observation room, we will de-brief them there.”
Dawkins nodded his head, and then left the Captain’s quarters, resolved to conduct his duties to the best of his abilities. After he had left, Curie decided it was time he got back up the bridge, any senior staff coming aboard would look for him there first.

Stepping out onto the bridge, Curie found it to be more packed than the last time he saw it. Now most of the ship’s crew had returned, and the stations were one again being manned. His ever eager Yeoman, Miss Curtis came running over with the latest crew report for him, a beaming smile on her face. Curie smiled back, and took the padd.
He was glad to see that all crew had now reported arriving back on the Excalibur, within an hour or so they would be able to leave the Starbase. As he took his seat in the centre of the bridge, Curie thought back over his mission orders, for the most part there will fairly simple, deliver the Governor, re-supply the colony, and offer any further assistance. However there was another section, one that still made Curie’s hair stand on end. In recent months they had been increasing reports of Orion Pirate activity in the area, and Starfleet Command believed that colony was possibly acting as a base for the pirates. If that was so, then the colony was committing high treason, the idea that ordinary Federation citizens, and government officials could by taking part in such disgraceful acts, would send shockwaves throughout the Federation. It was going to be the Excalibur’s job to make sure that if there was indeed a pirate base in, or around the colony it would be quietly shut down, and those responsible brought to justice. Curie’s orders made it clear that his actions were not to become public knowledge if at all possible. And from the tone of the wording, Curie knew that if he failed, it would be the end of his career.
Curie’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the turbolift doors opening, Curie looked you to see Science Officer KAT walking out onto the bridge.
“Welcome back,” he said, standing from his chair to greet her, “I hope you enjoyed your leave?”
“I did thank you Sir,” Kat answered.
“The Starbase staff took the liberty on making some modifications to the sensor systems,” Curie said, leading KAT to science, “they assure me it will improve our long range sensors.”
“I’ll be the judge of that,” KAT said, taking a quick look at the readings.
“Everything seem ok?” Curie asked, as KAT looked over her console.

John scowled as he picked up the Governor's bags. The Governor should have gotten a security team to carry his stuff, not the Chief Engineer/First Officer! And was it realistic to expect a nurse to suddenly grow enormous biceps and pick up bags that weighed more than he did? (Perhaps John was exaggerating a bit, but under the circumstances, that was reasonabl.)
Maybe he could get Karr to come down for a pysical...
The bags were incredibly heavy. Dawkins seemed to be doing fine, and Richards looked like his recent injuries hadn't stopped him. They were both carrying more than John. But they both had the build that was needed for this kind of work. John, having typically only carried around a small medical kit, wasn't used to anything that weighed more than ten or fifteen pounds. And here was this bag (if it could be called that) that weighed over fifty pounds!
"Can't you carry more than that, boy?" asked Karr. "We haven't got time to just sit around."
"There's no great rush," gasped John as he tried to keep carrying the bag. "If you want this to go faster, find a bunch of crewmen who are supposed to do this kind of stuff."
Karr frowned. "I thought Starfleet officers needed physicals."
"That's my job," said John, getting tired. You fat, lazy [word deleted]... Aloud he said, "I'm a nurse. And a physical isn't designed to make you carry loads of junk around."
Karr sniffed unhappily. "You'd do well to show some respect."
Dawkins looked very unhappy. His jaw was twitching. John wondered if Dawkins had had a similar experience before now, or if the older officer had just had the brains to stay out of such a conversation.
Richards wasn't looking good, either. By the time they got to Karr's quarters, all three were frowning. Apparently, Karr was oblivious to the whole thing. "Back for more," he said cheerily. John could almost see steam coming from Dawkins. He wasn't looking forward to the next trip, either.
As if they had made a silent agreement, all three officers walked back to the rest of Karr's luggage slowly. The Governor was walking ahead of them, saying things like 'Keep up!" or "We haven't got all day!" By the time all of Karr's stuff was in his quarters, John was exhausted. Dawkins and Richards were sweating, too, but not as much as John. All three hurried away from Karr at top speed, making mental notes to stay away from him as much as possible.
"Sir?" John asked Dawkins. "Can I go to my quarters for a bit? I'm a little tired."
"Sure," said Dawkins, anger in his voice. John was glad it wasn't directed at him. "Lt. Richards, you can go to your quarters and get refreshed, too."
"Thanks, Commander. You should get a shower, too."
"Oh, I will," said Dawkins. "But not until I speak with the Captain about Karr."
"All right then," said John. "See you later."
Dawkins nodded, and hurried off to the Bridge.
"What a nice person, the Governor," said Richards, sarcastically.
"Oh, yes," saud John in a similar tone. "How nice of him to escourt us as we carried everything for him. I'm going to make him take his physical with Doctor Kwani. Maybe that will get to him."
Richards smiled, remembering his own physical. "Yes, please do that. Well, I'll se you later, John," he commented, as the two parted.
"Later, Wills," said the nurse.
********************************************
John took his time getting refreshed. He didn't go to Sickbay for almost an hour. When he walked in, Dr. Kwani asked him where he'd been, and John told her of everything that had happened. She seemed to fins it funny, and laughed when John asked her to give Karr his physical. Her response, though, was too vaugue for a 'yes' or 'no.'

Mira gazed up at James in awe. "A debt?" she enquired, "wow....I didn't know Klingons actually were in the honour business. The one you beat earlier, a few days ago, does he now owe you a debt too? I think I read somewhere that if a Klingon is defeated and he isn't killed, he's shamed forever, is this true?"
She repositioned her quarterstaff, and her feet and gazed at James again. "Would you teach me Klingon fighting moves, sir?" she asked hopefully, "I'm really up for something new." She glanced at her chronometer. "I'm due for duty in two hours."
--- 3 hours later ---
Mira rushed onto the bridge, her hair still dissheveled from her training with Commander James. "I'm very sorry for being late," she panted, sliding into her chair as she made a vain attempt to make herself presentable, "I kinda got caught up in a training session I all forgot about the time." She blushed in semi-embarassment. "It won't happen again."

Kat looked over the modifications wondering what they thought they had done here. Several of the displays read errors in two or three other places, but yes the sensors were better. She notices that engineering will have their hands full, and she wonders if she should try to be of some use to them.
"Sir, they have seemed to make a mess of several other systems while modifying the sensors; however the long range sensors do look better now. Would I be of any use here in my station, or should I see if I can be of some assistance to engineering?" She says really hoping that she will have something to do, as she feels there will be very little in science on this mission.

Curie looked down at the screen Kat had indicated, indeed it did appear the Starbase engineers had made numerous errors, errors that the Excalibur crew would now have to fix. Not for the first time, Curie wondered why Starbase engineers always got it wrong.
“Of course you can go down to Engineering and give them a hand,” Curie said with a smile, glad that KAT had offered to help another department, “I’ll inform them you are on your way.”
“Thank you Captain,” KAT said, logging off her station, and hurrying towards the turbolift, she almost concluded with Mira and R.J who were both coming out of the turbolift. KAT offered her apologises, and then disappeared inside the turbolift.
“Welcome back,” Curie said to both his officers who had just arrived, “although just be the looks on you both, you haven’t done much relaxing.”
Both RJ and Mira looked like they had done ten rounds with a Klingon, and at Curie’s words they turned to each other and smirked, before turning back to face the Captain.
“We have been down on the rec deck, exercising,” Mira explained, as she took her own console.
“Glad to hear you’re both keeping in shape,” Curie said, walking with them down to the command deck, where the helm and navigation consoles were just infront of Curies elevated chair.
“Primary systems check out,” RJ reported at once from helm, “we are certified for warp speed.”
“Good,” Curie said, taking his seat, “then please take us out of dock Mr. James, thrusters only.”
“Aye aye Captain,” RJ replied, laying in the commands that would bring the Excalibur to life again.
“Ms. Green, if you could be so good as to plot a course to New Bath colony,” Curie continued to give orders from his chair, “when we are clear, set course, and engage at warp three.”
<tag RJ and Mira>
Meanwhile, down in sickbay.
William Richards walked in to find sickbay usually quiet, it felt odd. During his huge amount of time spent here last mission, he had gotten used to seeing sickbay busy. But then, the ship had of course been in danager, unlike now when they had been in dry dock for a week.
“Wills,” Nurse Mann said, looking up from his work, “can’t get enough of the place?”
“Something like that,” Wills said smiling, “I have been told I need to continue to report daily to sickbay for a general health check until the Doctor says otherwise.”
“I remember her saying something about that,” Mann chuckled, “she doesn’t trust Starbase Doctors.”
“She isn’t about is she?” Wills asked, his last examination by the Doctor had been one he wanted to forget.
“You can relax,” Mann said laughing, “she is down in the cargo bay, checking through our medical supplies.”
“Good,” Wills laughed, “in that case, I guess it’s down to you to make sure I am in perfect health.”
<tag Mann>
And down in Engineering.
Charlie Whistle had been working none stop since arriving back on the ship, the Starbase engineers had been such a mess up of the ship’s systems, it was a wonder the ship could even operate. And the mess! Charlie had thought Commander Dawkins was going to have a heart attack when he saw the state the engineers had left in his beloved Engineering in.
“Crewman,” Commander Dawkins called over, attracting Charlies attention, the CEO had a woman with him who Charlies recognised as one of the bridge officers. She was wearing the teal of science, and had Lt. Commander rings around her sleeves.
“This is Lt. Commander KAT,” Dawkins explained, “our Chief Science Officer, she is here to lend us a hand in sorting out the mess to the sensor systems, and I want you to help her.”
“Aye sir,” Charlie answered, “Pleasure to meet you ma’am,” he said to KAT.
“Main sensor control is just over there,” Dawkins said, indicating a single work station to the rear of the room, “you should be able to repair everything from there.”
“Fantastic,” KAT said, smiling, “thanks Chief.”
And so with Charlie behind her, KAT led the way to the sensor control station.
<tag KAT>

OFF: Why hasn't Dr. Kwani posted in such a long time? I know she's busy, what with being an admiral and helping run the site, but its been a while since she's posted here.
ON:
John scanned Wills with his medical tricorder. "Looks like you're fine. You're cleared for today. Oh, you wouldn't happen to know is Karr has had a recent physical, would you?"
"I'm sure I could find a good reason to get him down here," said William, smiling.
"Tell me when, and I'll make sure Dr. Kwani is ready and waiting for him," John said, grinning. "That'll teach him not to ask us to carry around his stuff."
"I think the Captain will call a meeting for the senior staff," William stated. "Think you could warn Dr. Kwani in advance?"
"Yeah, I'll tell her when she gets back," replied John.
"Thanks. See you later."
"Bye." John looked around the empty room, and noted with satisfaction that each and every hypospray was stored properly, knew that all medical files were in the computer, and had absolutely no idea what to do. He decided to go tell Dr. Kwani about the upcoming senior staff meeting.

ooc: I bet it does help to have a lot of those, but it can also be a hassle if you can't keep up with them. IC: KAT enters the main sensor grid to see several of the data chips lying on the ground, and unfortunately several are smashed. She wonders who could do something like this, and turns to see the chief doesn't look happy either. "Well, this could be the whole problem behind the sensors not being completely operational. We should look into finding out exactly what these chips did, definately contact the captain, and maybe look into who may have done such a thing?" KAT says wanting the chief's imput, since they were on his turf right now she figures he is the one who should be more in control here.

"That sounds like a good idea. I think though we should also tell the captain what has happened, as he should know why the sensors aren't working like they should. Part of finding out who did this might involve medical anyways. Contact sickbay and get someone down here to do that. I am going to report to the captain about this little incident." She says, and heads over to a spot where no one is around.
<Tag Mann>
She clicks on a few buttons, and then sees the captain's face.
"Sir, I am reporting on our situation here. We found several of the data chips in the main sensor ruined and laying on the floor. We aren't sure who did this, but we are getting started on figuring that out. Is there anything else we should do?" She says hoping to shed some light on what he might think.

John was with Dr. Kwani in the cargo bay, checking through the medical supplies, when the CMO's commlink beeped.
=^= Dr. Kwani, this is Crewman Whistle. We need a medical team to analyze these data chips in Engineering. Someone's sabotaged them, and we - that is, Commander KAT and I - were wondering if you could find out who. =^=
"Sure thing," replied Dr. Kwani. "I'll send Nurse Mann down right now."
=^= Thank you, Doctor. =^=
"You're welcome. Kwani out." She turned to John. "Why don't you go down there and help them. I can't find some of these supplies, and its not like they just got up and left."
"All right. Happy hunting," said John as he headed towards Sickbay to pick up some instruments.
*********************************************
Several minutes later, John arrived in Engineering. Crewman Whistle waved him over to the chips lying on the floor.
"We have no idea who could have done this," said Charlie. "The only people who should have touched these are in the Engineering department. In fact, I don't think anyone else has been in Engineering besides you and Commander KAT."
"Okay," said John. He kneeled down to examine the area. There was no blood anywhere, and nothing else John saw to give a clue as to the identity of the intruder. After ten minutes of searching, John finally found something; a small hair follicle. He set his medical tricorder down right next to it, then stood up.
"I think I found something," he announced to Charlie and KAT, who were standing close by. "But it might not be enough, and it could just be someone's who works here. I'll analyze it in Sickbay, and then get back to you.
"Great," said the crewman. "Thanks for your help."
"I also noticed something odd," said KAT. "There are a couple chips missing. I even went so far as to calculate the mass that is supposed to be there. Someone stole them. Maybe they just made this mess in an attempt to hide the theft." She shrugged. "I'll notify the Captain of your discovery."
"Sure," said John. "Oh, and Dr. Kwani said something about medical supplies missing. Well, I've got to run and get this thing analyzed. I'll tell you when I've got it completed, Commander."

On the bridge, Curie, RJ and Mira all exchanged worried glances as they heard the report from KAT down in Engineering.
“Do you have reason to expect sabotage?” Curie asked, leaning forward in his chair, his eyebrows creased in worry.
“At the moment, it certainly seems the most likely,” KAT reported, “that, or the Starbase Engineers are even worse than we thought.”
“Make sure you to save your tricorder readings,” Curie said, “we can use the visual data to try and piece together some clues, I’ll arrange with security to play back the security logs in that section.”
“We have also sent for a medical team, to try and find some DNA,” KAT continued to explain.
“Good idea,” Curie said, nodding his head in approval, “I’ll send you down a security detail, continue to investigate, and keep me informed.”
With the channel closed, the bridge was once again silent, apart from the continuous beep of the stations. Although all eyes appeared to be locked there representative stations, Curie knew that all the crew were watching him, eager to see what his decision will be.
“Commander James, start a deck by deck scan of the ship, I want to make sure no other systems have been tempered with.”
“Aye sir,” RJ replied.
“Mira, check our course, make sure there are no nasty surprises waiting for us, I want continuous scans of the region until we get the all clear.”
“Right away,” Mira agreed, keying in the commands to her console.

OFF: Why hasn't Dr. Kwani posted in such a long time? I know she's busy, what with being an admiral and helping run the site, but its been a while since she's posted here. Dr. Kwani continues to send her apologises, she has been hugely busy in real life, she has promised that she will post here once she has the time. And she knows I’ll keep nagging her until she does LOL In the meanwhile, I have been hugely impressed with how you are coping without having the CMO around. Your easily S-47’s best Nurse ever!

Mira kept her eyes fixed on the main screen, going by the stars to guide her and keep her alert. If the stars shifted, she knew that their course had been altered. Her mind kept trailing off to her training session with the helms chief, and she had actually enjoyed learning something new.
She was pulled from her reveree as her console beeped at her loudly. Mira cursed under her breath and jabbed at the buttons, in a vain attempt to silence it. "Course has been altered," she announced, "I am trying to correct our course back to where we were headed." Her hands flew over the console, while in her head she did the calculations needed for the course corrections. "It's tough, whoever changed it is trying to keep changing it. I'm entering an encryption code.....and done. We're back on course to Bath captain."
Mira cast Curie a pleased look. "I doubt they will be managing that anytime soon again, whoever they are."

Curie nodded approvingly at Mira, it was good to know that there course couldn’t be altered again, however, it was rather unpleasant to think there was still someone aboard the ship acting against them. Clearly the problems they were experiencing were not the fault of the Starbase engineering teams, but someone already aboard the ship. Unfortunately, Curie still didn’t know the crew well enough to say who the saboteur was, but he was going to find out.
“Chief Adams, get down to Engineering and check the area,” Curie ordered the Excalibur’s Security Chief, “Lt. Richards will meet you down there, find out all you can.”
“Aye sir,” Chief Adams answered, nodding her head as she walked to the turbolift. The Chief hadn’t arrived in time to depart on the Excalibur’s last mission, and had only joined at the stop off at the Starbase. However Curie had read good things about her, and was confident she would be an asset to the crew.
“Bridge to KAT, what is your status?” Curie asked over the comm system, hoping that KAT may have found some clues, maybe Nurse Mann’s scans had turned something up.

Kali Adams walked along Excalibur's corridors towards engineering. She'd never been on a Constitution Class ship before, it was bigger than she'd imagined, despite being aware of its exact specifications.
Engineering was fairly buzzing with activity she just hoped that not too many people had been near the scene of the crime, or they'd mess up her evidence.
"Lt Richards, Sir." Kali greeted with a brief nod of respect.
"Miss. Adams, main sensor control is this way." Richards told her, leading the way.
"Do I want to ask how many people trampled though my scene before I got down here?" Kali asked.
"No more than was necessary I'm sure." Richards assured her.
"That'll be half of engineering then. No disrespect intended Sir, my father was with the Criminalistics department of the New Berlin security division, he always told me that a security officer spends ninety percent of their time working out what evidence from a crime scene belongs to a crime and what belongs to the erm... idiots who trampled all over the scene before the evidence was collected." Kali said taking her tricorder from her belt as she began scanning the area.
"Your father might well have been correct, but this is a Starfleet ship not a civilian run operation, I'd hope we're a little more careful than that." Richards said.
"Yes Sir." Kali replied, crouching down near the door.
"Sir has anyone from the mess hall had any reason to be down here today?" Kali asked.
"Not that I'm aware, why?" Richards asked.
"Because as far as I am aware, gravy is not typically used in engineering repair work... of course anyone could have spilled gravy on themselves, or stepped in it after someone else had spilled it." Kali trailed off unsure what, if anything at all, this innocuous stain could tell them.
For one they would have to assume whoever it was that caused the damage also left the stain behind and then there was the fact that literally dozens of people went in and out of the mess hall hourly. The only small favour was that the stain was reasonably fresh; the ships automatic cleaning systems would have scrubbed it clean if it was more than a twelve hours old, which gave them a timeline to work within, if nothing else.
There had to be more than this, they'd need more than this to have a hope of catch whoever did this.
Kali moved further into the room, starting to examine the chips themselves. There were no traces of viable DNA but that didn't mean they hadn't left their mark... picking up one of the chips she looked at it closely... given the damage the chips had sustained it was difficult to tell anything, but there was one thing Kali was almost sure of.
"Whoever did this was no light-weight. All this chips were crushed under someone's boot and from the patterns I'd say whoever it was simply stepped in them, these chips may be small but they are durable, to crush them in one go, the person would have to have some weight behind them." Kali said.
"So we're looking for someone very strong, who has been in the mess hall in the last twelve hours... well that narrows it down." Richards said with what Kali suspected was sarcasm.
"I'm a security chief sir, not a miracle worker. I'll keep looking for clues, but when you consider your looking for someone very strong, who has been in the mess hall within the last twelve hours, has the knowledge to know which chips exactly to destroy and which to take and has the knowledge to try and hack our helm systems, that does narrow it down somewhat. Also if I may point out Sir, that whoever did this was also likely one of the few crewmembers who came aboard while we were docked at Starbase, or faulting that a crewmember who spent little if anytime at all on the Starbase while we were there, giving them time to put their plan into action." Kali pointed out a little irritated, was she expected to figure out everything in a day?

Ephrem was glad that his shift didn't begin until 1500 hours. It seemed to him that, he would need a good tour before he reported for duty. Ephrem had long ago decided that he would always know the ship he was serving on. He was now in Deck 14, walking the corridors, making mental notes of everything he saw.
This was a gift and a curse for Ephrem, he had the habit to take in everything, even if it was useless. Like how much does a molecule of water weigh or knowing every name of every discovered planet in the Alpha quandrant. It was all useless information, but it was something that could come in handy one day, but Ephrem hadn't found it yet.
After so much thinking Ephrem realized that it was close to the beginning of his shift, he hoped that his first offical day of duty would go as planned. Find a peaceful new alien planet, with an incredible new langauge, become friends and usher them into the Federation.
Ephrem new this was a long shot, but this was his dream, well the dream of every communication officer in Starfleet. So as soon as Ephrem saw a turbolift he headed to it.
"Deck One" As the lift started to go up, Ephrem made sure that his uniform was up to specs, and presentable. When it stopped, he took a deep breath and walked in.
"Lt. Jr. Grade Santos reporting in for duty" Ephrem said.
"Good take your station" Ephrem gladly walked up to his station, relieved the crewman and went to work.
Off: I didn't know how to do this so I did it this way, (sounds wierd, lol) by the way hello everyone

She sees the doctor go, and then hears the captain's voice.
"Well, sir, a hair has been found, and it might help give us something in this. I have also noticed a few of the chips are missing, and that this whole mess could have been a cover up for the theft. We don't have anything else at the moment, but will continue on to try and find some answers. Unless you have different orders, sir?" She says wondering what will happen.

Kali spent a little while longer in Lt Richards company examining the scene, but the sensor grids had been trampled through by dozens of people even before the chips had been stolen, it was like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.
"I'll check the ships sensor logs for this area in the last twenty four hours, internal sensors were damaged as well though, so I don't imagine we'll find anything of use. I'll also check the mess hall logs and cross reference them and get a list of all crew who came aboard on the Starbase and/or spent the better part of the time we were docked on the ship." Kali said, running through a metal check list in her head of all the possible things she should be looking for.
"Of course there is no guarantee we are only looking for one person." Kali muttered, mostly to herself rather than Lt Richards, but she repeated herself when he cast her a questioning look.
"I was just thinking aloud Sir; we could be dealing with more than one perpetrator." Kali suggested.
Lt Richards nodded in agreement. "If that's the case it will make things more difficult for us."
"Yes Sir, but they'll slip up somewhere, they always do." Kali said.
"Something else your father taught you?" Richards asked.
"Yes Sir." Kali said, nodding and trying to ignore the flush she could feel on her face. Damn it she was a trained security officer, she did not blush!
"Well Ensign, lets hope your father was right." Richards said.
