"Katie I need you to organize with the other departments, I don't think we are going to here good news."
"I'll get right on it." Katie replied.
"Sir it would appear they are getting ready to fight us. Something has happened to Captain Tras and Commander Drago its unclear what but from reports so far they are now prisoners of the local government"
"Go to red alert," Paikea said as he took the command chair.
=^=Prepare for battle, all personal to battle stations=^=
Katie's heart started to race as it always did when she heard the loud beeps of red alert tear through out the ship. She couldn't understand why there needed to be soo much conflict in the universe. Why can't everybody just get along?
"Katie, I need you to man science and operations," Paikea ordered," you can realign our shields as you see fit."
"Sure thing Pai...errr...I mean sir." Katie said.
Katie always felt weird having to call Paikea sir but she was on the bridge and she had to remember to go by the rules of the bridge. Katie worked her computer magic and suddenly on her screen popped the science station's controls.
Katie hadn't noticed but she had gone into auto pilot, working the controls on both stations to get the ship ready for a possible battle.
"Pai, shields are ready to go." Katie said.

"Pai, shields are ready to go." Katie said
For a few seconds Pai turned to face the most important person in his life. No one, not even his mother, knew him better than Katie and both of them knew that he was scared out of his wits. The enemey was coming and there was no way to stop them.
"Ok, good," Paikea said as he put his attention back to the viewscreen. From what sensor told them there were five ships coming their way. Paikea didn't know much about the ships abilities, but he knew that even outdated weapons did damage.
"Ensign I need you to find Commander Semia immediately," Paikea said angry now that Semia hadn't gotten herself to the bridge.
"Understood," the ensign said as he headed into the lift.

"Katie, I need to find out if our away team is on their way, I don't think we can hold them for long," Paikea said

Pride: Was caring Captain Tras it was slow moving Drago was in pain but keeping up. He tryed not to listen to Captain Tras but he couldn't help it he was caring him. He had figured out the older lady was his mother by the way they talked. They still had some distance to cover and his team was bring up the rear and having a time of it.
He was worried about everybody but he kept focused stoping for a rest he tapped his com badge.
" Commander Apirana we have the captain and the commander and one extra. I figured by now you have ships apporaching I need time. Both the commander and the captain are hurt and its slow going. I will push but I will need time at least another ten minutes I will try to shorten but I need time" <Tag Apirana>
Looking back at Drago " Sir before we left I tapped into the military channel they are mobilizing there entery military by now they should have ships in the air. When we get to the ship Its going to be a tight fit. I'll need you to man weapons my ship has a few tricks to it still. The weapons are a pulse cannon but a older verison. you will have to strap in and manual operate. Your seat will rotate with the canon. I'm sorry to have to ask you but your the only person who's qualified to operat besides me and I need to fly" <Tag Drago>

Luke was in a lot of pain, saying it was agony might be pushing it but it was close. He had been too close to the phaser and the burn on the back of his head was beginning to cause his vision to blur. However, now was not the time to allow any form of weakness to show through. Pride was carrying Tras, who remained unconscious, while Illito continued to monitor his vitals and his mother lead a way out that apparantly wasn't used that often. Luke had no strength to oppose her taking the lead. He barely had enough to stand.
"What's wrong with him?" She asked as she ran a hand over Tras' cheek, hoping to comfort him. She pulled Drago back. "I saw what you did commander, and I am grateful that you saved his life. I also saw Joseph gives you a hard time, but I'm sure he has a reason for that. I may not have raised him, but I know his character. He's difficult to get along with or to get to know, but he really is a fine officer with everyone's interest at heart."
Luke ignored her. He knew she was upset by all of this but he had no time to try and discuss his angry, at best, relationship with Joseph Tras.
As they reached the clean air of the outside world, Luke took a deep shuddering breath and managed to make himself stand up a little bit straighter.
Pride stopped and turned round to look at the Commander, which Luke was glad to say happened after he had sorted out his composure. A look of steely determination had been fixed to his face and he waited for Pride to say what he needed to.
"Sir before we left I tapped into the military channel, they are mobilizing there entery military by now they should have ships in the air. When we get to the ship it's going to be a tight fit. I'll need you to man weapons my ship has a few tricks to it still. The weapons are a pulse cannon but a older verison. you will have to strap in and manual operate. Your seat will rotate with the canon. I'm sorry to have to ask you but your the only person who's qualified to operat besides me and I need to fly."
Luke nodded. "Understood Commander. You fly the Ship, I'll shoot from it." He turned to Illito. "What is your piloting experience?" He asked.
"Well I can fly a Shuttle if that's what you're asking." She replied.
"That is exactly what I am asking, the Shuttle that myself, Tras and your Nurse came down in is still over there." He said pointing. "If you fall in behind and we cover you can you fly the Shuttle back to the Scavenger?"
Illito opened her mouth to reply but was cut short by a weapons blast narrowly missing her legs.
"No time!" Luke yelled. "Go!"
He summoned up what was all but left of his strength and ran to Pride's craft along, pulling Tras' mother behind him. Pride got to the Shuttle first, despite the fact that he was still carrying the fallen Tras and got them inside.
"Drago to Tintagel, are you ready to depart?"
<TAG Tintagel>
"Aknowledged, fall in behind us Commander. You need to remain as close as you can or you will recieve enemy fire."
"Could we not extend our sheilds around her?" Pride asked.
"That would mean she would have to follow your flight pattern exactly." Drago replied. "Are you receiving this Commander?" He asked Tintagel. "Can you do it?"
<TAG Tintagel>
"Let's move out then!" Luke yelled over the roar of Pride's engines starting. He strapped himself into the cannon's command chair and pulled down the visor over his head. Immediately it looked and felt like he was sitting outside the craft. "Oh this is wierd..." He muttered as he opened began to open fire on the small craft that were beginning to approach them. His entire body shook as the cannon let out it's fire, causing his burns to scape along his uniform and the chair. He grimaced but continued to fire.
"Inform the Scavenger we are coming in hot!" Luke yelled, trying to keep control of the lively weapon. "Hows Tintagel doing?!"
<TAG Pride>
He nodded but didn't offer a verbal response, instead he shot down yet another vessel. Something was beyond wrong here, for a planet that had only just developed Warp drive they should not have that many space-worthy ships.
"We are coming up to the Scavenger. Prepare for an emergency landing!" Pride yelled.
"Drago to Tintagel, release yourself from our shielding now. You have to make the entry by yourself." Luke said, not waiting for a response and hoping that she heard.
The landing itself wasn't too bad but the almighty crash as both Shuttles hit the other end of the Shuttlebay caused Luke's teeth to rattle in his mouth. He stood up as soon as the Shuttle had stopped moving and began barking orders.
"Get Tras and his mother to Sickbay and assign a guard! Pride you and I are needed on the Bridge, let's get moving!"
If any replied Luke wasn't listening. He could hear the Scavenger take the strain of being pounded on by a fleet of Ships. The sirens blared out their wailing song and smoke from put out fires filled the decks. When the two Officers arrived on the Bridge Luke took no hesitancy in his orders.
"Get us out of this System, maximum Warp!"
"Sir?" Appirana said.
Luke ignored him and continued to bark orders for status reports.
"What if they follow Commander? Should we not stand and fight?" Pride asked from the Helm.
"They won't follow, they're not stupid. This was all part of an elaborate plan. Letting the Federation know they have one more System to deal with. Letting us know that there's one more System that we cannot put our faith in."
As Pride took the Scavenger to Warp and the shaking ceased Luke ordered for Red Alert to be stood down and for an immediate emergency Senior Staff meeting in the Briefing Room. "Ten minutes!" He ordered and took refuge behind the closed doors of his Ready Room for a moment, to catch his breath and to assimilate all that had just happened. Whatever just happened there was only surface deep. Tras' mother proved that.

Illito followed Pride down to the shuttle, and smiled grimly when he mentioned having to reschedule dinner. These things came up, and she certainly understood that this mission was rather stressful for everyone involved, and so many things kept coming up. As she and Pride and the security team approached the city they grew quiet, trying not to instantly give themselves away.
Pride was tracking Drago and Tras' life signs as the team approached. They entered the building with their weapons ready, though Illito also had her medkit easily accessible.
“Hit the man! Spare the woman!” Captain Drago shouted. Illito tried to make an immediate assessment of the situation, and she could see that it was best to take out the threat before anything else, including seeing for medical attention. Pride hit the man first though, and Illito ran to the unconscious of the two men. Drago, while he looked bad, was still slightly conscious, and probably in a better position than Tras. It was, however, a hard decision for Illito to have to decide.
Illito was by Tras when the woman they had been ordered not to hit ran over, and tried to move Illito aside. Illito though, for the most part, tried to gently move past the woman, who obviously wasn't seriously injured, in order to see how well Tras was doing.
“Is he stable enought to move we dont have much time and I dont want anybody else getting hurt trying to hold there position”
“Yes, he's stable enough,” Illito said, then glancing at Drago, who looked seriously injured and burnt. Neither man was in a good position, but they both seemed stable enough to move, and it would be best to get them to a better medical facility as soon as possible. Even the shuttle would be better than the ground right here where more enemy combatants could arrive at any moment.
The shuttles were docked and the Scavenger left as soon as it could. Illito, with the help of a few others, was able to move Tras to sickbay. The woman, some relation to Tras-Illito wasn't paying enough attention to figure out how she knew Tras-followed along. Tras was placed onto a biobed, and Illito started an monitoring and stabilizing of his life signs. She could tell that she was making progress, and there came a point when she had to just let him rest before injecting him with any more medication, a point at which his body had to take over most of the healing. Illito couldn't do any more until he woke up.
When Illito had time, she tapped her commbadge. =/\=Commander Tintagel to Captain Drago, please report to sickbay immediately=/\=

Luke was just beginning to get his head together when his comm badge chirped. He glanced at the time, still four minutes until the emergency briefing was supposed to begin, who would want to interupt him now? Didn't people see his mood?
=^= Commander Tintagel to Captain Drago, please report to sickbay immediately =^=
Ah yes... Only a Doctor could have such impecable timing.
"I'm afraid that will not be possible Commander." Luke replied quietly. "As I'm sure you are aware we have a briefing to attend in less than three minutes. Your annoying scans and slightly frustrating tests will have to wait until after."
<TAG Tintagel>
"Well I shall be in the Briefing Room, not Sickbay. Some things can wait, this cannot."
<TAG Tintagel>
"Very well, perform your scans during the briefing." Luke snapped. "But I do not want it to distract from the matter at hand. See you in the Briefing Room." He finished, closing the comm.
He sighed and got to his feet, desperately trying to ignore the feelings of warmth against his uniform that could only mean one thing. Various places of quite serious bleeding. Attempting to walk, and not hobble, calmly to the meeting was a tough challenge but one which he suceeded in. All the Senior Staff were present when he arrived except Tintagel who Luke assumed was busy preparing all that she would need to bug the hell out of him. He sat down at the head of the table, just managing to supress a grimace of pain.
"Now." He started. "I want details of what and who was attacking us and Starfleet had no idea of what the heck was happening on this planet." He stopped and when no-one spoke he cleared his throat and added. "Don't all rush at once."

Joseph Tras didn't know how long he'd been asleep or unconscious, but when he woke up the first thing he noticed was that he couldn't move. He struggled against whatever was holding him down, but all that effort cost him dearly. He felt a pressure on the centre of his chest, exterting more pressure until he finally lay back down.
When his vision finally focussed, he saw what was holding him down. He followed the hand and arm upward to the person attached to it, and finally his gaze rested on a woman's face. Confusion spread across his features as he tried to remember what exactly had happened before he had passed out.
"You were shot," the woman whispered, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her wrinkled cheeks. "Oh Joseph what've you done to yourself. You knew you shouldn't be out here, you've endangered an entire crew for this."
When Tras struggled again to sit up, his mother didn't stop him. Instead she helped him up and stuffed several pillows behind his back. Pain seared through his body with every movement and he wondered what the doctor had done to him while he was unconscious. "I did what had to be done," he whispered, "what any son ought to do when his mother just disappears without notice, and his father just dismisses the disappearance and marries a witch!"
A nurse walked up to them, demanding what was going on. "I am Helena Tras," the older woman told the girl, while pointing at the uniformed male wearing a captain's rank. "His mother, and I'll thank you for not bothering us and instead go find that doctor of yours and inform her that her patient is awake and ready for further treatment."
Tras opened his mouth to protest but one look from Helena made him close it again. "You are getting treated this time my boy," she snapped at him, "you've exerted yourself quite enough. And by all that is holy, I swear that I'll knock you out myself if you've any thoughts of leaving tha bed. And so help me God, I'll restrain you myself if you so much as move."
Tras gawked at his mother, then settled in the pillows she'd given him, nodding meekly. "Nurse, please do as she says and find Doctor Tintagel. I'm sure she'll relish in having my mother to guard me. Tintagel didn't want me to leave in the first place."
The nurse nodded, shot a grateful glance at Helena Tras - who by now gathered that her son had made life for the crew of the Scavenger very difficult - and walked towards the door. "Nurse, please tell Commander Drago that I'd like a word with him at the first available opportunity?" Helena called after her. The nurse nodded before disappearing.
Shyly, she entered the conference room and beelined straight for Tintagel. "Your patient is awake doctor," she whispered, "and I daresay he's not going anywhere. He's been carefully guarded." Then she walked over to Drago and whispered Helena's message to him, before disappearing back to sickbay.

OCC: Sorry I haven't posted the holiday and a unplanned trip.
Pride: Couldn't beleave how many ship were coming at them this didn't make sense they shouldn't have this many but needless to say they did. He was trying not to get to fancy so Illito could follow under his shields when the reached the Scavenger they were having problems of there own. The shuttle's came in how Drago was still firing to the last possible secound.
A few mins later they were on the bridge things were crazy at best. But the crew was doing there job. The ship was taking fire taking over the helm and trying to avoid being shot at he heard Drago's order.
"Get us out of this System, maximum Warp!"
Pride was not happy with the oder " Sir shouldn't we stay and fight?"
Drago looked at him and in a calm voice with no anger in it responded
"They won't follow, they're not stupid. This was all part of an elaborate plan. Letting the Federation know they have one more System to deal with. Letting us know that there's one more System that we cannot put our faith in."
With out another word pride brought up warp drive and exited the system. Drago was right on one was following. They had Breathing room and time to figure out what was going on.
Pride entered the briefing room for the meeting. He saw illito doing scans on drago and could tell she was not happy he wasn't in sick bay. When Drago started to ask the question
"Now." He started. "I want details of what and who was attacking us and Starfleet had no idea of what the heck was happening on this planet." He stopped and when no-one spoke he cleared his throat and added. "Don't all rush at once."
Everybody was quite they looked like they didn't know how to respond taking a stab in the Dark.
" Sir I think that might be a question to ask Captain Tras, He has kept us in the dark the whole time not to mention how come his mother was there and we weren't informed. As far as the ships. I think they were testing them selves to see how they would fair against. The results aren't good. They now know what they need to work on and I think the next time we meet we will find improvements in there combat skills and weapons. Still though I get the feeling that this mission was more then what Star fleet was led to beleave and that might have something to do with the captain." Pride looked at drago and waited for a response

“I'm afraid that will not be possible Commander.” Luke replied quietly. “As I'm sure you are aware we have a briefing to attend in less than three minutes. Your annoying scans and slightly frustrating tests will have to wait until after.”
“I wasn't really asking sir,” Illito answered, irritated by the fact that Captain Drago looked ready to resist her in this. “Your condition, while you may not think it's serious, probably requires medical attention. And if not, then a brief check-up will not take much time at all.”
“Well I shall be in the Briefing Room, not Sickbay. Some things can wait, this cannot.”
Illito sighed. “I disagree, but I guess I'll have to verify the status of your health in the briefing room then.”
“Very well, perform your scans during the briefing." Luke snapped. "But I do not want it to distract from the matter at hand. See you in the Briefing Room.” Captain Drago then closed the comm channel.
Illito sighed again. “Light!” she muttered, not understanding how Captain Drago could be so cavalier with his health. It wasn't like this would actually take much time unless he was seriously injured. And if he was then he couldn't afford to wait.
She surveyed sickbay, trying to think of what she would need to treat Drago if he refused to come down to sickbay. Of course she could only take so much stuff. But if Drago was seriously injured enough to require that he be in sickbay to be treated, so help her, Illito would use the medical removal from duty.
Illito arrived a little late to the briefing. She would have preferred to be there before it started, so she could talk to Drago without him being able to end the conversation so easily. However, it would have been impossible to actually get there and bring everything necessary, so Illito had to resign herself to being late.
Illito was paying careful attention to the briefing while she scanned Captain Drago. She decided that she may as well be helpful and give him something for the pain while she did her best to heal him in the briefing room. Even if it would make it even less likely he would show up in sickbay out of his own free will, Illito wasn't that kind of doctor.
Illito was still working on a simultaneous diagnosis and healing as she went along when a nurse tentatively entered and walked up to her. “Your patient is awake doctor,” she whispered, “and I daresay he's not going anywhere. He's been carefully guarded.”
Illito nodded, and looked at Drago. He was still obviously injured, but Illito was having a very hard time trying to balance time and attention between him and Tras, who was more seriously injured. Illito realized that she could not leave without interrupting the briefing, and she had to leave. And if she was going to interrupt, she may as well tell Captain Drago she expected to see him in sickbay. “My apologies,” she said, after Drago was refocusing his attention on the briefing. “However I must see to the health of one of the patients in sickbay.” Illito didn't mention Tras' name simply because she didn't really see any reason to. She was sure most of the crew could guess who the patient was anyway.
While she was leaving, Illito stopped to turn and look at Captain Drago. “Captain, sir. As I am unable to finish this now, would you drop by sickbay as soon as you possibly have a chance to.” She didn't wait for him to agree before saying; “Thank you, I appreciate it. Saves me from having to walk around the ship looking for you.” Illito decided to give him forty-five minutes, tops, unless she was really busy in sickbay, for him to show up before she would ask again, and after that she doubted she would be in a mood to ask again.
Illito left the briefing room and headed down to sickbay. She entered to see Captain Tras being watched over by his mother, and understood what the nurse meant about him not being about to leave anytime soon. She walked over, making herself approach Tras' condition as separate and thus not influenced by her irritation at Drago. It looked like Tras was in pain again, so Illito prepared a small dosage of Metorapan, and injected him with it. “Did that help?” she asked, as she prepared the next stage of his treatment. She was ready to pause to prepare another small dosage though, if she had to.

Paikea was never a person to back away from a fight, but he was glad that Commander Drago had given the order. The Scavenger had taken more than a beating waiting for them to arrive back on the ship. The damage itself was not all that bad, but it was extensive.
As Commander Drago made his way towards his ready room, it allowed Paikea time to breath again. It was never an easy thing to be in charge of a ship when it was in battle. In fact he felt sorry for the captain's of ships. The responsibility alone could drive you up the wall.
The ten minutes that Commander Drago had allowed them passed really fast and the senior staff found themselves in a tense meeting.
"Now." He started. "I want details of what and who was attacking us and Starfleet had no idea of what the heck was happening on this planet." He stopped and when no-one spoke he cleared his throat and added. "Don't all rush at once."
The first person to speak was Pride who shared most of the thoughts of the rest of the staff. Captain Tras was the main reason they were there and he should answer some of their questions.
"I have to agree with Pride Commander, there tactical abilities were not great, but I'm pretty sure were extensiviely scanned," Paikea said," furthermore the news of this encounter will spread throughout the region. This could possibily be a lot worse for the Federation than we think."

Pride: Listened to Commander Apirana assement was glad to see they were on the same page. Looking back at Commander Drago and thinking for a moment.
"Sir I know that this seem unlikely but we still have never confirmed Captain Tras orders to take command or go on this mission. There is a chance starfleet might not know what we have been up to. With your permission I would like to contact them and just see what those orders were with out reporting anything yet" <Tag Drago>
" On a nother note I didn't mean to question your orders to warp out sir I just dont like people shooting at our ship. It will not happen again and I thank You for not yelling at me and taking the time to explain your decision. It is somthing that I think Captain Tras should learn if given the chance"

"I doubt that Captain Tras would do something like that," Paikea said," plus I already checked the orders and they were legitamate."
This line of questioning wasn't getting them anywhere. They could doubt Tras orders all they wanted, but what was done was done. It also dawned on Paikea that the rest of the senior staff had yet to say anything. Normally Katie and Illito would keep quiet, but Semia was another matter.

"I have to agree with Pride Commander, their tactical abilities were not great, but I'm pretty sure we were extensiviely scanned," Paikea said." Furthermore the news of this encounter will spread throughout the region. This could possibily be a lot worse for the Federation than we think." Luke continued to listen to the briefing unfold as Tintagel performed her scans. He knew that this would not suffice and that sooner or later he would have to head down to Sickbay. As Tintagel left she turned to look at Luke, "Captain, Sir. As I am unable to finish this now, would you drop by sickbay as soon as you possibly have a chance to.” She didn't wait for him to agree before saying; "Thank you, I appreciate it. "Sir I know that this seem unlikely but we still have never confirmed Captain Tras orders to take command or go on this mission. There is a chance Starfleet might not know what we have been up to. With your permission I would like to contact them and just see what those orders were with out reporting anything yet" Luke replied to this thought of Pride's with confidence. "I am sure that the mission that we were sent on was in fact from Command but what I am not sure is that Tras' placement on the Scavenger was a coincidence, you may Mr. Pride, check all comms between Tras and those in Personnel back at S47 HQ and see whether he specifically requested this assignment. I am sure you will find something conclusive." Pride nodded and then added. "On a nother note I didn't mean to question your orders to warp out sir I just dont like people shooting at our ship. It will not happen again and I thank You for not yelling at me and taking the time to explain your decision. It is somthing that I think Captain Tras should learn if given the chance." Luke supressed a grin. "No apologies necessary." He said. "I am sure I would have reacted in exactly the same way." He paused and then stood slowly to his feet. "Well I am sure there is very little we can do until we arrive back at Assailant. Mr. Pride, you have your orders, Commander Appirana I would like you to oversee the responsibilities of the Executive Officer in the light of Ms. Cavit's continued absence. That means I will require a personnel and repair report within the hour. Miss Anderson, please assist the repair teams and oversee the work from the Bridge. Dismissed." Luke left the briefing room before the others and headed straight to Sickbay. Partly to keep the good Doctor from badgering him any further and also to have a good long chat with Tras. Walking through the busy corridors, Luke began to reflect on what had happened on the planet. He always did this, always criticised his decisions after he had made them. "Too late now..." He muttered. "Ah, so glad you could finally make it down here." Tintagel said as he entered the Sickbay. "All in good time Commander. First I need to speak to the Captain and his mother." "I really must insist..." Tintagel started. "I will not be long." Luke said. "And then you can poke me all you like." Illito did not seem happy at this but remained silent, allowing Luke to proceed where Tras lay and his mother sat. "So let's start from the beginning shall we?" He said as he approached them. "What the hell has been happening since you got on the Scavenger? Or wait, even before your graced us with your presence?!" <TAG Tras, and Mummy of course >

Tras sighed in relief when Illito injected him with another dose of the painkiller. He didn't understand why he was hurting so much, and was still hurting after the care the doctor had bestowed upon him. As was her duty of course, but Tras still appreciated it. "Thank you," he told her earnestly, casting her a grateful smile, "it helps...somewhat. I just wish I knew what was wrong with me. No doctor has been able to tell me, and believe me I've seen a fair amount of doctors!"
Helena hushed her son, motioning for him to remain quiet. All this talking was tiring him out, and she needed him to rest, get well and take command of his ship again. "Not now," she urged him, "you must rest and regain your strength."
"Where were you during my youth, that makes you eligible to tell me what to do now?" Tras shot back, clearly irritated by his mother's constant fussing. Seeing the hurt look on her face, he immediately regretted his words and reached for her hand. "I'm sorry mother, I didn't mean that."
Just then, Drago staggered their way and sat down on the nearest vacant chair. "What the hell has been happening since you got on the Scavenger? Or wait, even before your graced us with your presence?!"
Tras gazed down at Drago, raising an eyebrow in surprise. "And greetings to you too Commander Drago. I am fine thank you for asking, how are you feeling?" When the commander glowered up at him, he sighed. "What happened since I boarded Scavenger? Why, we were ordered here, surely you remember our orders? Before I graced......I didn't know I graced you with my presence...I thought you all hated me, avoided me at all cost as if I were some diseased individual."
Not that I made it any easier on you all, he thought idly as he fidgeted with the sheet that covered him. "I learned that the Scavenger was headed for Karn IV," he explained, and I went to see Admiral Drake to request passage to the planet. I had heard my mother was still alive, but in the hands of these Karnians. It was too good an opportunity to pass up, but I never expected to be given command of this ship. It was convenient, but unexpected."
Tras glanced sideways at his mother, then up at Illito who glanced down with a disapproving look on her face. "She was my main concern but I understood our mission's importance...I never forget that fact. You must believe that." His eyes now showed his fear. "In how much trouble are we?" he finally asked, "what trouble am I in?"

"She was my main concern but I understood our mission's importance...I never forget that fact. You must believe that." His eyes now showed his fear. "In how much trouble are we?" he finally asked, "what trouble am I in?"
Luke tried to hide the look of pity on his face. The man before him now was totally different to the one who had so confidently stormed onto the Scavenger.
"I am afraid that Command may not see it like that." Drago replied. "You did use the Scavenger for you own ends, at your own admition, thus possibly endagering the lives of its crew. Whether you intended to carry out the mission or not is in fact a side issue." He stopped and looked at Tras' mother who remained silent. He would need to talk to her as well, to find out what she was doing on Karn IV in the first place. "I will be filing for a demotion on your part." He stopped as he allowed Tras' mother to gasp and clench her son's shoulder. "I will try my best for that to be the only punishment. I give you my word."
<TAG Tras>
Luke sighed. "It won't end there, this will remain on your record. Further positions will be tainted by this mission." He paused. "But I am sure you will be able to continue on in your career, it would be a shame for Starfleet to lose an Officer who is more than capable to do his job when he's focussed."
<TAG Tras>
"However, I would like you to apologise to the Senior Staff, actually to the crew in its entirity. You have mistreated them, and quite unecessarily."
<TAG Tras>
"Very well. Rest here, I think Illito may shoot me if I try and get you moving yet and you're clearly not in any position to do so."
Luke turned away, but before leaving turned to Tras' mother. "You of course will also be questionned." He said. "By myself and authorities back at Assailant. This situation is one more giant confusion that the Federation could deal without and you unfortunately are our biggest asset in the whole thing at the moment."
Without waiting for a response he walked across the Sickbay and approached Tintagel.
"Well Doctor, I'm here." He said.

"I will be filing for a demotion on your part." He stopped as he allowed Tras' mother to gasp and clench her son's shoulder. "I will try my best for that to be the only punishment. I give you my word."
Tras looked down at his hands, then looked up at his mother as she grasped his shoulder. Quietly, he shook his head at her. "I understand," he answered, "I would probably do the same if I were in your shoes.
Luke sighed. "It won't end there, this will remain on your record. Further positions will be tainted by this mission." He paused. "But I am sure you will be able to continue on in your career, it would be a shame for Starfleet to lose an Officer who is more than capable to do his job when he's focussed."
"If I have a career left." Again he shook his head at his mother, who was signaling something to him. "Don't interfere," he signaled back, then returned his gaze to Drago. "What else?"
"However, I would like you to apologise to the Senior Staff, actually to the crew in its entirity. You have mistreated them, and quite unecessarily."
"He can't ask that of you," Helena Tras signaled.
"Yes he can," Tras signed back. "I haven't mistreated your crew captain," he spoke up, "I have just maintained a strict working relationship. I do not tolerate my orders being questioned, that is how I was raised. You can't change how I was raised commander, you can't change who I am. Blame my beloved strict and harsh father for that!"
He held up his hand, then continued signing as he spoke. "However," he continued, "I will apologize to your senior staff. To you, Commander Pride and Doctor Tintagel in particular."
Tras noticed the slight smile on his mother's face and smiled back. "It'll be all right mother," he signed.
Helena nodded back at him. "Yes, it will be now." she signed back.
"Very well. Rest here, I think Illito may shoot me if I try and get you moving yet and you're clearly not in any position to do so."
"I'd hate to see that happen commander," Tras answered pleasantly, "and I fear Doctor Tintagel is not a woman you ought to keep waiting."

Illito set up a neural imaging scanner to try that for Captain Tras, on the off chance that it would add valuable information. She had fed the data she already had into the medical system, but it was becoming clearer and clearer to her that this was no diagnosis that a computer could make. She was having a few doubts whether or not she could diagnose it. But she knew she had to, because Tras was depending on it, so she would.
Illito wisely withdrew from Tras' side to analyze the results and let Drago talk without her hovering over his shoulder. She thought it highly unlikely that Drago would try to harm Tras, since they seemed to not have attacked each other since that first fight. If she had thought there was that possibility she would have stayed, no matter how awkward it would be.
She was still working on the results when Captain Drago finished talking to Captain Tras about whatever they had been talking about and walked over next to her.
“Well Doctor, I'm here.”
“Thank you, sir,” Illito replied, and started the check-over nearly immediately after that. “I appreciate you coming down,” she said, while she was doing the work.
Illito regarded the various burns disapprovingly, not really understanding why Drago would want to avoid sickbay and having his injuries healed. The scan didn't really show anything unusual, so Illito reached for the tissue mitigator, to heal him. She performed another scan to verify that she had healed everything. It didn't make much time, at least not in Illito's opinion. She thought Drago might beg to differ.
“I'm done,” she told him, “But if you want I can do your sickbay physical right now too. It wouldn't take that much longer.”

Luke sat still whilst Illito healed the burns over his body, it was good to look relatively human again, even if he didn't feel it. What he really needed was a good nights sleep. Man, he hadn't had one of them in a while...
No sooner had she begun Illito had finished, although Luke wasn't about to admit that all the time he had spent avoiding Sickbay was at least half of the time he had spent in it.
"I'm done." She told him. "But if you want I can do your sickbay physical right now too. It wouldn't take that much longer."
Luke sat bolt upright at this point, realising too late that this was not a good reaction to make.
"No thank you Doctor." He said, composing himself a little too late. "I need to be back on the Bridge to see how things are getting on. The physical can wait until we are safely docked at Assailant." If you're lucky. He mentally added.
Illito seemed to pay little attention to this response but Luke couldn't be sure. There were just some things that this crew didn't need to know... Yet... She allowed him to get up and leave without furthering questioning and Luke exited Sickbay with a brief nod to Tras who was still being tended to by his devout mother. I must talk to her. He mused on his return to the Bridge.
On his arrival it was good to see teams hard at work and that Apirana seemed to be quite content in the role of Acting First Officer. Anderson wasn't on the Bridge, he assumed she was in Engineering co-ordinating with the repair teams, and Pride was beavering away at the Helm. The Senior Staff, may have dwindled, but they knew how to do their jobs.
"Report." He said, making his presence known.

Pride: Was busy checking records on other ship in the area and who command them. When he heard Commander Drago come back on the bridge and ask for a status report. Smiling a little bit he was happy things were slowly going back to normal for the moment.
"Sir Helm is function normaly we have warp power back some what. They suggest not pushing it until we reach star base they can safely maintain warp 4 until star base dry dock. Also as for Captain Tras he requested this ship sir, There were other ships in the area but the all have ranking captains this ship was the only one with a Commander in charge at the time. It would appear he wanted to make sure he was in charge for this mission" <Tag Drago>

"I agree Commander." Luke said in response to Pride. "I have just been talking to the good Captain and your analysis fits his description of the events. Keep us at Warp 4 and alert me if there are any problems."
He turned away from Pride and walked over to Paikea who was dealing with a rather ruffled looking technician.
"Commander, when you have a moment I would like a full status report. I will be in my Ready Room."
<TAG Apirana>
Luke left the Bridge and sat down behind his desk, one which looked as if it had been hit by a hurricane. His neatness streak seemed to have left him.
"Drago to Sickbay." He said, tapping his comm badge.
<TAG Illito>
"What is the status of Tras?"
<TAG Illito>
"Aknowledged." Luke stopped and scratched above his left eye, he would need to administer the nano probes soon. "Please inform Mrs. Tras that I require her presence in my Ready Room. There are a few things that need to be ironed out."
<TAG Illito>
"Thank you kindly Doctor. Drago out."
Luke leant back in his chair and stared out the viewport as the stars slipped by... This used to be one of his favourite past times, but now, as he stared and waited, it filled him with a sense of unease and dread.

Helena looked down on her son, frowning in pity. He looked exhausted, his expression was haunted, and he was now refusing to speak out loud to her, resorting to he sign language he had learned when he was a child.
"Talk to me Joseph," she said out loud, "why aren't you talking to me?"
"Because everyone will overhear," Tras signed back, "and I don't want them to overhear."
Helena nodded, though she still didn't understand. And it worried her that he was acting like this. When a child, Joseph Tras had been completely deaf, and had learned sign language as his only means of communication. When he had been five, Helena and her then husband - Joseph's father - had taken him to an elite hospital to get his hearing fixed. However, something had gone wrong, and the treatment had worked only in partial. Joseph could hear, and learned to talk, but there were side effects and his hearing was still minimal, and would be for the rest of his life.
Joseph had been eight when his mother suddenly disappeared, without a trace and without prior notice. It had only been very recent that he had learned his mother was still alive, and held hostage here on Karn IV.
"I have to go," Helena told her son, "Commander Drago seems like a fair man. I'll talk to him."
Tras shook his head, frantic. "No," he signed, "don't tell him!"
"Doctor!" Helena called, when she saw her son nearly going into a fit. "I have to go for now...please look after him? Do whatever you have to in order to keep him here. You have my permission, as next of kin, to do anything you deem fit."
(Illito)
Helena walked out of sickbay and a few minutes later entered Drago's office. "You wished to talk to me captain?" She sat down opposite of the human commander and studied his face. He too looked exhausted and she cast him a warm and motherly smile. "And may I suggest some rest for you too?" Unconsciously she was now using sign language to support her words, gracefully slipping into the old habit without realising it.

Drago didn't want to stay for a sickbay physical, which Illito wasn't too surprised at, but she knew he needed to have one soon. There was only so much leeway she would give until Drago had to give in to receiving a sickbay. But that time hadn't come quite yet.
Illito returned to Tras' side once Drago had left, trying to see if she could garner any more information about Tras' condition. She was in the middle of that when she received the communication from Captain Drago.
=/\=This is Commander Tintagel=/\= Illito replied.
=/\=What is the status of Tras?=/\=
=/\=Captain Tras' condition is stable,=/\= Illito said, and that was pretty much the best she could say. Tras wasn't getting worse, but neither was he getting better very quickly. It was taking longer than it should for him to recover from the injuries he had sustained, and Illito knew why that was.
=/\=Acknowledged. Please inform Mrs. Tras that I require her presence in my Ready Room. There are a few things that need to be ironed out.=/\=
=/\=Yes, sir=/\= Illito replied
=/\=Thank you kindly Doctor. Drago out.=/\= Illito waited for Captain Drago's acknowledgment, then closed the comm channel.
Illito walked over to Captain Tras and his mother. “Excuse me,” Illito apologized, reluctant to interrupt their conversation, but in her professional medical opinion it wouldn't hurt Tras to rest, and besides, she had a message to deliver. “I apologize,” Illito said, looking at Helena, “But Captain Drago requests your presence in his ready room.”
Illito went around to the back of the biobed display, effectively removing herself from hearing range of the conversation, while she could still keep on eye on Tras' stats.
“Doctor!” Tras' mother called. “I have to go for now...please look after him? Do whatever you have to in order to keep him here. You have my permission, as next of kin, to do anything you deem fit.”
“Lovely,” Illito muttered, not sure she liked what that entailed. Apparently his own mother thought Captain Tras might be difficult to keep in sickbay. Just what Illito needed.
Captain Tras' mother left with an advisement that he rest, one that Illito couldn't agree with more. “Rest is probably the best idea right now,” Illito supported. “I'll continue to attempt a diagnosis while you sleep though, and I'll be right nearby if you need anything.” At the same time Illito was trying to be calming, she worried about how Tras would react to her attempts to help.

Being Acting Executive Officer wasn't all that was cracked up to be. He had this job before, but last time it was much easier. With all the drama happening over the past few hours and days, things just seemed to be so much more complicated.
"Sir, all the lower decks have been repaired, though they recieved the less amount of damage in the attack," a crewman reported.
"So how much more repair is needed to the ship?" Paikea asked.
"Well sir, if we were at dock and not moving it would take a few days to fix everything, but out here I'd say a few weeks," the crewman responded," though we will reach Assailant long before that."
"Ok, thank you crewman," Paikea said not wanting to get angry at the situation. For the last couple of hours, members from every repair team had come to up to the bridge to give him there reports. They were almost all the same and it was starting to get rather frustrating.
"Commander, when you have a moment I would like a full status report. I will be in my Ready Room."
"Yes sir," Paikea said a bit spooked. He hadn't heard Captain Drago come into the bridge. " I will get the status report to you soon."
=^=Katie, please report, what's going on in engineering?=^= Paikea asked.

=^=Illito I know that you are busy, but could you get me a status report?=^=

Luke sat up as Helena walked in. His immediate attention was drawn to how tired she looked, not just tired, exhausted. Lines of worry circled her grey and care worn eyes. She had the look of someone much older than her apparant years. Not that Luke knew how old she actually was, not that it really mattered.
"You wished to talk to me captain?" "And may I suggest some rest for you too?"
Luke sighed. Some mothers just didn't know when to stop... His thoughts immediately flashed to his own mother and how long it had been since he had seen her. So long, could he look he look her in the eyes? Knowing what he knew?
"Er... Commander?" Helena said quietly, bringing Luke back to reality.
"Sorry." He replied, refocussing his attention. "I will of course rest when we arrive safely back at Assailant and this whole nasty affair is cleared up." He paused. "Well as much as it can be."
Helena smiled. "You and Joseph are very much alike you know."
He opened his mouth to reply but then stopped, he could see her point. "That aside, could we perhaps turn our attention to why you were present on Karn IV?" He asked.
"Must I really talk this through?" She enquired, her hands still silently motioning an almost long forgotten language. Luke's attention was raised by this.
"I can promise you that you will have to talk about this a lot more before all this is sorted out." He stopped and gazed at Helena's hands. "So Tras is deaf?" He asked. "Or at least partially? I must say I had my suspicions, especially after our little... Shall we say 'conflict', but nothing concrete."

Helena nodded. "He is mostly deaf, actually. The treatment we arranged for him went wrong, and as a side effect he now suffers from balance problems as well when under severe stress. If he is happy and confident, he has no problems at all, but under dire circumstances he has to work very hard to keep his usual appearance."
Helena stared down at her hands. "I am glad it is out in the open now," she answered honestly, "his life will be easier now. He has learned to live with his disabilities, but it is exhausting to keep hiding them from your crew. He doesn't want to be seen as weak."
Her eyes flashed as she looked up at Drago. "My son is not a weak man," she said fiercely, "I may not have been around to raise him, however much I prayed that I would be, but I am very proud of what he achieved. And no thanks to his father and stepmother either! Oh yes, Anthony Tras kept me informed all these years, while he kept me away from my only child. He did that to spite me, and that witch of a wife let him."
She fixed her glare on Drago as she continued. "If this will get his father to answer for his deeds, I'll gladly face any enquiry. But please, don't be too hard on my son. He does mean well."
