I was never told what my position would be. So i can't properly sim until i know what my assignment is. If i could find out as soon as possible i'd be greatful. I really would like engineering.

yeah, me too. But I'll simm at the starbase untill I know. My second choice is medical, and third is tactical/security. I'll even consider a post I've not listed. Until then, how about our characters interacting somehow? Gary has only met a rude Transporter room Tech, and Joan. Fellow cadets would be cool. maybe an orientation thread on the holodeck involving all new arrivals, using a program having nothing to do with our job specialties (untill we receive assignments) to use as a "get to know you" mixer?

All cadets will train in their first choice position (as indicated on your Join Form). If you do not remember what that was, or want to change your first choice, please email the Academy Command Staff at s47-acadcomm@yahoogroups.com, or me personally at ONE.s47@gmail.com.
Happy Simming!!

Welcome cadet (even though we have already met).
It looked like the Hepta jt put out a call for cadets yesterday, lucky you. You can go and report in there unless you wish to putter about on the station and catch the Hanson when it returns, which probably won't be for a few weeks

Welcome aboard cadet.
Both ships are out on mission right now. The Hepta just started its mission, and you can join them and try to catch up if you like. You can also wait for the Hanson to return, but it might be a couple of weeks before they do.
I see you have created a thread on the base, that's good. You can also join any of the other threads that have been started on the base.
Happy Simming.

Charlotte could only rely on the few instructions she had been given when she departed from Earth Starfleet Academy and when she arrived on the starbase. She knew she had to report her arrival at the base and to duty to a senior officer.
She had of course once study this type of starbase, its specificities and its decks map but for the moment she had to check on the closer computer board where the office, she was to report to, was located. She did the same for the quarters she was assigned to.
Her luggage was not so large. Just a few off-duty clothes for comfort and personal social events – but she doubted she would use those before a while -, her personal work files – biological thesauruses, personal thesis, as well as Starfleet procedures guides which were the most complicated of the lot as far as she was concerned – and some books and jazz records for leisure. A handful of data chips was well enough for her comfort except for her family and friends.
She dropped her personal things on her quarters’ bed, and then headed to the office. She paid very little attention to people she passed by, her head still full of her journey from Earth and the stress from this new start of her career. She had signed on to leave her desk studies and make them from first hand data, but this implied a new challenge as Starfleet didn’t ask only science skills but also military abilities, and that was a big challenge. Charlotte stopped in front of the door and drew a deep breath. She pushed the button by the door which will make her presence know and waited to be let in.
When she was told so she opened the door and stepped in.
- Cadet Charlotte Boissey reporting for duty sir/ma’am (ooc : didn’t know who I would face).
She was very careful, as usual, to speak with a rather British accent, by mean to be accurate when speaking a language, but her native French accent was still detectable if you paid attention.

Joan barely heard the door, and replied rather absentmindedly. Suddenly she heard the report in, and looked up surprised, then it registered.
Joan got up and smoothed out her uniform. She realized where she was, and what was going on now. Joan put on a smile, hoping not to scare the cadet.
"Welcome aboard, Cadet Boissey. Sorry, but you missed the USS Hepta. The Hanson is scheduled back soon though. You must be tired from your travels, maybe even hungry. Why don't you go down to the promenade and get something to eat. I could show you around if you like," Joan said, and her smile widened a little.
OOC: Welcome to the site. You could join one of the many ongoing threads on the base, or you could create one of your own.

Too preoccupied by her own thoughts or worries, Charlotte didn’t pay attention to the Commander attitude. She stood straight in a military manner looking a little tense.
“I thank you Commander. I’ve been told that I would have to wait for a ship on the starbase. What will my affectation be until the Hanson’s comeback?”
The Commander McCormick’s casual ton made her feel a little more comfortable. She nodded and smiled.
“I could use some advices about living on a starbase. My own space experiences are limited to Earth, Vulcan and a short visit on Andoria. Do you have some suggestion for not very bold meal but not from the synthesizer?”
