From his ready room window, Drew watched as life on Starbase Conqueror quickly hurried by, officers running to their ships before departure, some friends meeting, while others said goodbye. As usual the docking ports were full of ships of all shapes and sizes, a true representation of the unity enjoyed throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
Upon her return to spacedock, the Hanson had immediately been put to the top of the schedule for repairs and refitting. There were already new Cadets waiting to come aboard to complete there officer training, and the Hanson would soon be back out in space.
A buzzing from his door distracted Drew’s thoughts, turning round to greet his visitor, he wasn’t surprised to see it was S’reena Hope, like Drew she was now wearing her full dress uniform.
“Time already?” Drew asked, walking over to greet her.
“Yep,” the First Officer replied, handing Drew the padd that contained his speech, as well as the details for the Cadets.
“Well,” Drew said, straightening his uniform, “let’s get this show on the road.”
S’reena smiled, and then led the way towards the turbolift, instructing it to take them to the holodeck.
As usual, a recreation of the Academy campus in San Francisco had been programmed for the graduation ceremony. Today was a lovely sunning morning, with a gently breeze in the air, just the right thing for a graduation. Most of the Hanson instructors had already gathered infront of the podium, and the family and guests of the Cadets were all sat excitedly in the rows of chairs infront of the stage.
Smiling politely as he walked by, Drew took his place up on the stage, and looked down with pride at the gathered Cadets, who were all standing smartly to attention.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to Starfleet Academy,” Drew said, “today we are gathered to celebrate the achievements of these fine young people infront of me, who over the course of the last six weeks have proven themselves to be people of good character, of principle, and of determination, and who today, will be joining the ranks of all those who have gone before them.”
“I would like please, to ask Cadets Aerial L Fraugg, Mattimio Kane, Runningwolf, Thomas J. Tagert and Ian T Arika to approach the stage.”
Looking extremely proud, the five Cadets all marched in single file towards the stage, and finally took their places lined up smartly infront of Drew.
“This will be the last time you will stand before as Cadets,” Drew said smiling at them, “I am very pleased to say, that you have now graduated from Starfleet Academy, congratulations!”
Instantly, there was a huge round of applause from the gathered crowd, and beaming faces all round.
OOC: Congratulations to each of you, details of your officer ranks, and your new assignments will be following shortly, as will announcement of the Cadets who have won the Academy Star of Excellence, and the Academy Ribbon. You may all feel free to post in reply to this thread, as many of your Instructors will also almost certainly do, hopefully your new assignments should be announced shortly.
NOTE: Posted edited to include Tom Tagert in the graduating class.
Once again congratulations, and I wish each of you every success in Section 47.

The Hanson was back and Charlotte was told that the graduation ceremony would be public. She made her way to the ship and couldn’t help noticing the repairs in progress. Sudden worries about the reality of the training flooded her. She followed the little crowd that was heading to the holodeck. She was back on Earth, in Starfleet academy.
As the ceremony was about to begin she took her place in the back of the room, watching the graduating cadets and the senior staff. She took the advantage of this situation to observe the senior officers, their attitude. Captain Drew was particularly tall. He was flanked by a Romulan woman who had to be his First Officer, the Commander Hope. The four cadets were successful. Charlotte joined the crowd and applauded to congratulate the newly confirmed officers.

S'reena took her usual seat beside her commanding officer and she pondered over the old times. Admiral Drew was her third commanding officer in all her time on the Hanson and she dearly hoped that he would stick around. She was still concerned about his health and not just because he had aged several years on one of their recent training missions. The admiral had been shot in the line of duty only days ago, and from where she was sitting, the Romulan found the human admiral still looking quite pale.
Since she couldn't insist on him not straining himself too much, and with Brelev hovering about, S'reena resigned in the fact that Drew quite possibly knew what he was doing. She applauded with the rest of the Hanson instructing staff when the five cadets were announced and were handed their certificates, proof of their graduation.
Each of the cadets had proven their worth during the training mission, and she was proud of each and every one of them. Each had performed very well under quite dire circumstances, showing excellent skill in their professions.
"Nice speech," she whispered at Drew once he sat back down, "come on, we've got to join the line to shake their hands and pat their backs on job well done. Doesn't look good if we're the last ones to physically do so."
S'reena grabbed Drew's hand and gently pulled him along. "Well done," she announced, grabbing the nearest cadet - no officer's - hand. "Any idea of where you wish to go after this?"
<any cadet>
Then she spotted a new face. "Why hello, I haven't seen you around here before. Checking out the place before signing on are you?" She smiled brightly at the young woman.

Paul made his way to the Docking bay where the Hanson was. Since he heard of it's arrival back at the conqueror he couldn't wait to get a look at the ship. The first one he would serve on in his career in the federation. When he got there he saw all the repairs being done. And knew it wasn't going to be a piece of cake graduating. His idea was a nice and easy flight in some peacful territory under guard of another fed vessal.Apparently this was not so. Paul then spotted Charlotte. And he saw the worry on her face.He didn't like to go out there and be the one to start talking but he couldn't help seeing the poor women stressing over it. He walked up behind her and she didn't notice still observing the repair men at work. "The tell you you'll see the world when you join up, But instead you get heroes and young men dieing for our freedom" Paul started,Charlotte slightly jumped at the sound of pauls voice but it wasn't noticable. "What do you mean?"She asked. "When i was in a private school for the young and gifted i studied 20th centurary wars and somebody after the war wrote that in a school article."Paul answered her question. "Hey listen you don't have to worrie about this,There are some damn fine cadets and officers going to be on board but if we look out for each other then we'll be ok" <Charlotte> "I guess your right"Paul said "Do you want to go to the graduation together? We'll avoid being seen as the only two who turned up together. What do you say?" Paul said and looked at Charlotte awaiting an answer,He couldn't be totally friendless. Could he? ??

ooc : forgive my last mistake about the admiral's rank
ic :Charlotte didn’t notice Paul’s presence until she heard his voice. She didn’t understand what he was saying at first. He sounded like a real soldier. Heroes ? He explained himself.
“It could as well have been written during the Dominion war or by on officer facing the Borgs so many years ago but still closer than the 20th century. I just hope I’ll manage to become neither a hero nor a dead one. “
A smile crossed her face, pushing the worries away.
“I think I can do that. Thanks for offering this.”
People heading to the Hanson were less each minute passing.
“The ceremony must be about to begin.”
Charlotte smiled again. “Sure. Let’s go now or we’ll miss the beginning.”
After the ceremony the crowd moved, many people approaching the graduated officers to congratulate them. Commander Hope came closer to the two cadets.
“That’s close to the idea madam. Cadet Charlotte Boissey and cadet Paul Cain. We’re told that the Hanson might be our first assignment. The graduation was the occasion to take a look of the ship. We’ve seen she’s got some damages. I hope nobody had been hurt.”

Wolf: Was feeling pretty good he had made even with the mistakes he had made he still made. In part thanks Lt Daya for giving him a shot at proving he could keep his temper in check. He was talking to some officer when Lt Daya had walked up to him
"Well Wolf, you did well. Very well indeed, though its a shame about my knife, ah well, i'll get a nother one sooner or later"
Wolf started to smile " Well sir I may have lost your knife but I have something to give you in its place." Wolf Picked up a box and handed it to Lt Daya. " It may not be a knife but it will do the job they have been fitted and weighted for you"
Lt Daya opened the box to find two small throwing Tomhawks in side doulble side with extremly sharp blades. " They were had made and arrived here just before the party started. Sorry about the knife but now you have these two and they can be easly hidden on your persons, you shouldn't have a proble throwing them. By the way thanks for not giving up on me I know that I have to keep my temper in check at all times so thanks" <Tag Daya>

After docking Brelev insured that Cadet Jolim was transferred to the Starbase's medical facility comfortably. She was fighting the urge to stay behind next mission to look after her, but knew that she was needed on the Hanson.
Now seated next to S'reena for the graduation she took a moment to look over the cadets, each seemed to have matured over the mission, which was not surprisig as it had been a difficult one. She applauded as their names where read out, although felt a knot in her stomech when she realised that Jolim was, of course, not included.
As the ceremony closed and the festivities began Brelev took a moment to drift to a quiet corner and contacted the Base's CMO to check on her injured cadet. He assured her Jolim was fine, and continueing to recover, although slowly.
The graduates where busy with friends and Family, sop Brelev joined Comander Hope who was talking to a few new cadets who'd come to watch. "You're time will come soon. I'm Doctor Brelev, CMO of the USS Hanson. It's nice to see cadets so eager to get started. I don't supose either of you are training in Medical?"

Matti was so proud to have made it this far. As he got his certificate he could only look out at the crowd and remenece about all that happened to him in the last few weeks.
<I have finally made it into starfleet. Now the real test begins.>
After the cerimony Matti walked around and congradulated each of his classmates and started to leave but got a feeling that someone was looking at him. As he scanned the people that were around him, He noticed that no one was looking in his direction.
<This feeling is not like normal. This is wierd. I feel like someone is looking for me. For what I don't know. I don't sence any hostile intentions though. I will sit on this bench until this feeling goes away or I see who is the one that is looking for me.>

Joan showed up a little late, but she thought it was better than never. She noticed she wasn't that late, and saw the graduation after all. Joan sat in the back not wanting to be any trouble.
After the graduation Joan mingled with the cadets. She noticed the newly graduated were around, and she made her way over to Runningwolf.
"Congrats on your success. I hope things work out for you in your assignment, any idea on where you might end up?" She said trying to make small talk.
A little bit later she walked over to Fragg, "Hey, congrats." It was all she managed as Fragg walked away barely noticing her.
Joan moved on to see the rest of the graduating class, and then suddenly she found a friend among the crowd who was sitting down on a bench. She wondered what he was doing, and made her way over to him. He seemed to have spot her before she could say anything.
"Hi, I didn't expect to see you here," Kane said, and she smiled.
"Well, I had to see this with my own two eyes, or I wouldn't be able to believe it. Welcome to the fleet, Kane," she said teasing him a little. Joan noticed the look on the First Officers face when she spotted Joan, and she looked around to see how she could try to disappear when she noticed the new cadets were here. She moved over to them.
"Hello, cadets, good to see you are here," she said, and remembered she hadn't introduced herself to the male.
"You must be Paul Cain, I have heard about you from Katrina. I am Joan McCormick, and it is nice to finally meet you cadet," she said.

Crystal stands rather nervously in front of the podium with the other instructors. She isn't made nervous by the amount of people as much by the whole graduation ceremony. But at least this ceremony is in a setting she half-way recognizes and understands. In a way, the holodeck is replicating the images of her childhood, but this scene lacks a few major things, and a lot of the buildings Crystal sees on the sky-line are unfamiliar. Crystal feels an urge to adjust her dress uniform one last time, but she ignores it. She doesn't think she'll ever truly feel comfortable in a uniform, and the dress uniform is more restricting than the normal duty one. Still, she has been told this is appropriate, and she can follow orders, as long as they're not stupid ones. And fortunately she hasn't encountered any of those.
Despite her unease, Crystal is excited for the cadets, and she knows they all did a great job and are ready to graduate and go out into the world on their own. But as Crystal is standing up there, next to the other instructors, she realizes she doesn't really know any of them, the mission had been too full and she never had seemed to be around to meet them. She hopes she will be able to meet some of them before the next mission, she likes knowing some of the people she is working with.
After the ceremony, she looks around for her cadets. She figures neither of them will really want to talk to her that much, since this is their day for recognition of independence, and they're probably tired of listening to her after the whole mission. Still, she wants to congratulate them.
Crystal spots Arika first, and walks towards him. Fortunately she doesn't seem to be interrupting a conversation. “Congratulations on graduating,” she says. “It was a pleasure working with you this mission. Good luck in the fleet.” Crystal waits for him to reply, but is ready to move on in case Arika doesn't want to talk extensively.

<mcCormick>
"We just thought we'd take the oppotunity to congratulate people and get a look at our new temporary home."Paul said as cadet runningwolf approached to say hello.
Paul reached out his hand "Congratulations" paul said.
<Runningwolf>
Then paul saw Brelev "You're time will come soon. I'm Doctor Brelev, CMO of the USS Hanson. It's nice to see cadets so eager to get started. I don't supose either of you are training in Medical?"
"I'm not actually doing medical but i may be willing to lend a hand every now and then" paul said

"Thankyou sir.Oh this is cadet boissey. We're both studying science" Cadet Paul Cain said
"Two science cadets again, we had the same situation in this mission, at least at the start. Only one was able to graduate. I believe we are getting a new science officer for the next mission and I have heard very good thing about them. Apart from that, both myself and Commander Hope have experiance in the field." Brelev replied, she took a sip of her beverage, the willingness to remain on the station during the next mission was beginning to fade.

Another senior officer joined them, she was the Hanson CMO.
“I’m doctor in biology, I know the anatomy but I’m afraid my skills in practical medicine are minimal.” Charlotte answered to her question with a sorry smile.
Only one ? Charlotte wondered what had happened to the other cadet.
“We’ve already met him. I mean Dr Kalen. He told us he will be the science instructor but used to teach medicine”.
Commander McCormick and one just-graduated junior officer joined the group.
“Congratulations sir. May I ask how was your mission ?”

After the ceremony was over, Methos got up and went to congratulate them. He saw that they were talking with Joan, Brelev, Commander Hope, and two new cadets. He walked up and said, "Mattimio and Runningwolf, I want to congratulate you and say that I am sorry for not being able to help you more than I did. I was observing your actions whenever I could though. You both did splendid."

"Joan, how nice it is to see you here. As I recall, you didn't make my graduation," Methos said with a wiicked grin on his face.

Isis maneged to slip in the back quietly trying not to get noticed by anyone important. She paused as she saw the Admiral, who she had first seen at her father's promotion-to-captain-ceremony when she was seven.
She hoped he wouldnt ask her where she got her name from. <--------------------------- (<_<>_> hint hint)

"Yes, we have met before, it is good to see you both made it here okay," she said before turning to Wolf.
"Oh well, I am assigned to the base now. I happen to like the quiet life, well when I am not sheparding cadets around," she said a grin spread across her lips. She noticed Wolf smiled a little too.
"Do you know where you are assigned to yet?" Joan said to Wolf. She noticed he was also talking to the cadets, and suddenly larger than life Methos came in.
"As I recall I didn't hear about your graduation, someone must have forgotten to invite me to that one. You were probably nothing but trouble any ways," she said teasing the marine. She noticed Isis came in. She excused herself for the time being.
"Hello, Isis, you can come out of that corner he doesn't bite. How are you admiral?" Joan said first to Isis then to Drew. She smiled, "How was this batch? Nothing too horrible happening to you this time I hope," she said remembering hearing something about a chair incident.

Paul and boissey had come together. They had talked to a few officers and a few Cadets.
Now Paul had shrunk into the background. He watched as his colleague's and new found friends bloomed in amongst the present crew and newly graduated crew. Paul decided to quietly go and have a look around the ship.
He walked down the coridoors Of the Hanson as the graduation party got started. He reached out and touched the hull, closing his eyes he saw the visions of the many cadets that had gone before him.
It reminded him of the slave camp. Well the Caves where him and his brothers, mother and father were made to mine ore. The tought made him open his eyes. But he still couldn't shake the memories, he put his hand on the lumber region of his back and felt the scar. This made him wince in pain at the memory lashed by the whip, which one of the captures held tight in his hands. He remembered the laughter that the pirate gave, an evil laughter that burned more than the scar which he was creating.
He pulled his hand away at the sound of a voice, Which made him slightly jump.
<Anyone,pref drew or hope>
"Sorry sir, I was just getting a fell for her." Paul responded "I didn't mean to intrude."

Ian had walked in just as the Graduation Ceremony had started, glad to be off of the ship again. He looked for somewhere to sit, but stood instead.
“I would like please, to ask Cadets Aerial L Fraugg, Mattimio Kane, Runningwolf, Thomas J. Tagert and Ian T Arika to approach the stage.”
Ian looked up at the stage towards the Rear Admiral and walked onto the stage with the other cadets who were called up.
S'reena grabbed Drew's hand and gently pulled him along. "Well done," she announced, grabbing the nearest cadet - no officer's - hand. "Any idea of where you wish to go after this?"
Ian had thought for a moment, but had nothing to say.
Daya stood with the others instructors to pat back and shack hands, When he saw Arika and Fruagg, he called them both over to speak with them. "Well done you two, you managed t survive getting stuck down on the planet with me, now just keep in mind what you learned and you'll both go far."
Ian looked over at Daya and nodded to him and faced the crowd again.
At the end of the Ceremony, Ian had been standing outside of the room as his instructor had walked up to him.
Ian looks over to his instructor and says, "It was nice working with you." He gave a polite, yet faint smile. He couldn't think of much else to say for a moment. He then had said, "Good luck with your next cadets. I hope we'll meet again."
