The bridge had been exciting and if not a bit emmbarassing for Kalen. And now it was time the himself and the good Doctor to go and report to their station. The doctor had made a mistake in taking Paul to the bridge right away. After Paul had stood to attention and then shouted like a marine, he remembered Kalen cupping his forehead in his hand and shaking his head at this point, maybe it was time to loosen him up even more with some actual duty stuff. They stood in the turbo lift on thir way to the labs. Kalen looked at the ceiling in anticipation, waiting for the lift to reach it's destination. Paul looked at Kalen out of the corner of his eye. Soon they would be departing off on their training mission and he hadn’t received any orders as of yet. “Kalen, What are supposed to do while we have no orders?” Paul asked unsure of how to go about his duty. Paul knew how to be a scientist he just needed to know how to do it on a star ship. “Good question Cadet. Not much we can do although I have prepared some old scan reports of different anomalies I have encountered on missions and thought you could reanalyse them if you like tell me what you think they could be.” Kalen replied. “I would enjoy that very much sir… Kalen” Paul smiled. ‘Deck two’ The turbo lift computer said as the doors opened and Paul and Kalen Stepped out. They walked along the corridor towards lab one. Paul became giddy at the thought of actually studying a star fleet officers scan reports and old tricorder readings. They entered the lab and first thing was first Kalen went and grabbed some pads. Then he placed then in a pile in front Paul. Paul Began reading and then Kelan placed another pile in front of him. “Let me know what you think they are lad” Kalen said and went about setting up the lab. He looked at the pile of pads in front of him, and Paul realised that this was going to be no easy task. He started reading one which he assumed was a nebula cloud and the second he thought was human forms scanned through some sort of interference. But for the life of him he could not make out what the interference pattern was… He stood up and decided to run a few simulation scans. Imputing the dater that was on the pad in front of him. It’s some sort of blast. He thought to himself but what kind? Through out the reports the same human forms vapourised just before the blast and then after the blast they seemed to be back. As if nothing had happened, he could see why Kalen had given this one to him. Because he too had probabely been confused. Paul smiled to himself and decided to take a walk with this particular one. “Kalen” Paul said “Yes Lad” Kalen replied setting up running some test through the computers. “Can I take this one for a walk? I think better when I’m moving.” “Don’t be long” Kalen requested. As he walked Paul began to think outside the box a bit more. Maybe it is two sets of people. Maybe they beamed in after the blast. But the same amount to the exact same spot. What was it? Paul’s brain was now beyond repair. He could not forget it, he probabely would not be able to sleep until he solved it. While himself and his mind was wandering he wandered into what looked like quarters. Nobody was here so they must be his quarters unless he was lost? But he clearly remembered these being where his quarters were. He placed the pad on the coffee table….Did he have a coffee table? And decided he would have a quick shower.. No one would know just so long as he wasn’t too long. He stepped under the sonic shower and began to enjoy the invisible rays cleaning his skin. Then he decided that was long enough. He stepped out and it was then and only then when he saw it……………… OH NOOOOOOOOO His mind screamed as he looked down upon a picture of Admiral Drew and his wife. He had better get out quick……….. OOC Poat has been mdified due to computer not pasteing properly at the moment.

ooc: Ms Alexia, your instructor is Major Methos ;D Please be kind to the poor Major eh? *grins*
ic:
S'reena looked up when Drew nudged her in the side and motioned towards the turbolift doors. A lone cadet stood looking about, craning her neck to get a better view. Obviously, she was attempting to locate her instructor.
"Well, seems my cadet is here," S'reena murmured at Drew, "page me if sickbay calls in with results? My son is ill and they were going to subject him to several tests."
At Drew's sympathetic nod, S'reena got up from her seat. From his glance she could tell he hadn't quite forgotten her little promotion stunt yet, and knew he'd be waiting for the right opportunity to get back at her. She welcomed it, knowing it'd come eventually.
"Hello," she called, drawing the cadet's attention, "you must be Cadet J.C. Isis. I'm Commander S'reena Hope, your instructor. From what I heard you'll be training in the science field, I must admit it's been a while since I've done anything major in that field. What is it in particular that you're interested in, qua sciences?"
<Isis, feel free to respond anything....elaborate on feelings, stance etc>

"Commander, this is very impressive, I want to begin training now," Max said.
Jason couldn't help, but smile. His cadet was enthusiastic and willingly to work. "Now Mr. Richard if that is the case, please take a seat here," Jason said as moved away from the operations console.
The cadet quickly took his place and started to use the controls.
"Mr. Richard's as you know, operations is in charge of all day to day activity on a starship," Jason explained," we are also responsible for maintenance, communications, and anything that the Captain orders."
"Now Mr. Richard, do you have any questions?" Jason asked.

OOC Alexia, i dont know for sure, but i think someone asked awhile ago if everyone would change there names to include middle and Last names, if you have one. So, if you would, would you be kind enough to do so? Thank you much
IC
"A telepath huh? i should have known" Daya said, looking at the girl, "I've met a few in my times, but never had the chance to work with one." Daya continued to watch her, while in the side of vision, he noticed the other cadet shudder. "I am as you already know a very gifted telepath and for some that is very scary... I have meet few people who truely did not feel uncomfortable around me, and it has been hard leaving my planet
"Well, you'll have no problem adjusting with me around, i ave no problem with who or what you are, just as long as you can do what your told." Daya sat there talking with the two cadets, but something else was on his mind. "Alexia Katan you said?" Daya looked down at his PADD, "i knew it. It seems you are not MY cadet, cadet. Says here Major Methos, the marine instructor is your, instructor. So if you would so kind as to report to him, it was lovely to met you"
When she had left, he tapped his comm badge, =^= Daya to Methos, it seems we had a little mix up, Cadet Alexia Katan reported to me, instead of you, i sent her down to meet with you.=^=

Damon Taylor , The latest Security officer holpful under the watchful eye of Daya , would have to adimt he was pleased when he found out he wasnt going to be sharing an instructor with a telepath.
He has nothing major to hide but he is a private young man and would not like his thoughts to be stolen at random but a perfect stranger.
"So where should we start commander? , I have experiance with weapons , martial arts , medical aid in the feild and i have been a pilot for three years now , but only in smaller vehicles"

Daya said as he stood up, And walked out of the mess hall. They walked at a comfortable speed, Daya still pointing out various places here and there the cadet would find interesting. "What kind of weapon training do you have?" Daya asked as the walked. <tag Taylor> "Oh wow, not bad. I know most of the klingon weapons, as well as a few human ones, but i guess you could say i specialize in medieval weaponry. What about your martial arts, how long have you studied?" <tag Taylor> "Oh well, we will have to set up a dojo and spar one day in the holodeck." They finally reached the bridge and stood around somemore as almost no one else was around. Daya went over the various buttons and knobs, gizmos and gadjets, bells and whistles, the works. "Its alot to know in one day , but you get the hang of it. <tag Taylor>

Taking his face away from an electron microscope, Kalen rubbed at his eyes which had started to feel tired from staring intently for so long. He had been analysing and categorising colonies of bacteria for what seemed like forever, although he was aware it was no more than half an hour. He stifled a yawn and then glanced at his chronometer and was shocked to see that substantially more than half an hour had passed, and for some reason Cain wasn’t back yet.
“Computer, locate Cadet Cain?” He asked, slightly annoyed that the cadet was taking so long. “Cadet Cain is in Admiral Drew’s quarters.”
The betazoid’s thoughts stopped in their tracks. In the admirals quarters? That couldn’t be right, surely. “Confirm last request?” “Cadet Cain is in Admiral Drew’s quarters.” “Where is Drew?” “Admiral Drew is on the bridge.”
Kalen wasn’t sure what to do. Actually, that wasn’t entirely right. He wasn’t sure he wanted to know what he had just found out. Furthermore, he didn’t want to have to sort out any situations that might happen as a result. Indeed, what he decided he really wanted right now was a nightclub and a fair amount of alcohol. He had a large suspicion that none of these desires were actually going to amount to anything and that his best policy right now was going to be damage limitation.
=/\= Kalen to Cain, report? =/\=
There was no response. Why would the cadet ignore him? He tried again twice, but still there was no reply. By this time the newly appointed science instructor was kneading his forehead as a form of stress relief. He already knew that his options were severely limited, and that he was going to have to go over to the commanding officer’s quarters himself. But he still had three problems; why was Cain there, should he call Admiral Drew and should he leave this ship before anything else bad happened.
OOC: Cain you use a lot of short paragraphs, perhaps try linking them together into slightly longer paragraphs. In general I will only end a paragraph when changing what I am talking about, or going to speech. This is my personal preference, and obviously you can do whatever you wish, but maybe just try this and see how it suits you. If you don’t like it, don’t do it again!

"Now Mr. Richard, do you have any questions?" Jason asked.
At that moment, Max let use the controls and he reclined backwards.
And serious he said:
"Before beginning with the training, I want that you know that my father educated to me from very young, he was, in fact is, a very rigid person. I want that he has pride of me. Perhaps to be better than he. For that reason I do not want to fail to him. I want to get to be the best officer. And I want that you help me, sir."
<Reynolds>
Max continued speaking, but now with slight smile:
"Well sir, my first question would be what things must know an Operations Officer?"
<Reynolds>
"Wow, it is more difficult of which thought..."
Max was sure that he would be to him complicated, but that did not concern too much to him.

Crystal takes the opportunity while waiting for the standard welcome routine for the cadets to begin to talk to one of the other instructors, Commander Reynolds, of operations. The last mission, her first as instructor, had provided little chances for her to talk, or if they had been present, she hadn't noticed them.
After the meeting in the holodeck, Crystal looks around. She has heard that she will have a cadet if he reports in, but he hasn't yet. Crystal heads up to the bridge while the rest of the cadets are still receiving their tours, and sets her console to alert her if anyone comes aboard, and glances at the ship roster. She notices two betazoids on the list, one as instructor and one as an ambassadorial cadet. This fact makes her feel a little uneasy. It's not really that she has something to hide-Crystal sighs softly to herself, actually it is that. She has feelings she would rather no one else knows about, because there isn't any way they could understand them, or her, and she doesn't feel comfortable exposing her brain to another's review. And, unfortunately, from what she knows of telepaths, they often can't choose whether to use their ability or not.
Crystal stands at her console, wondering when the Hanson will be taking off. Until it does she figures she doesn't really have a lot to do, unless a cadet shows up for her to run through the ropes with. All the other instructors are busy, and she doesn't see anything really for her to do, without prematurely taking the ship out of dock, and Crystal doesn't think anyone would appreciate that. Nor does the idea tempt her, she would prefer the ship to stay safely in dock until she receives orders to do otherwise.

Cadet Henchard was a bit overwhelmed by all of his surroundings. After years of preparation, he was finally ready to depart on a real starship!
"The ship’s doctor is in many ways as important to the ship as the engineer. The engineer makes sure the ship runs smoothly, the CMO makes sure the crew does, and no ship can operate without a crew," Commander Brelev began to explain to Henchard. "And a good medical officer gives the crew top priority."
"Yes Commander Brelev. I feel the EXACT same thing. I guess it's what we medical officers have in common." Michael Henchard had never worked closely with an officer as experienced as the commander, and as a result, he was eager to hear every little tip Commander Brelev could give him. "So, I take it you don't use the EMH too much," guessed Henchard.
"Actually," replied Brelev, "You never know when you could need another steady hand. Not to mention, the EMH brings an entire database of information right to your hands."
Commander Brelev had a point. Even with a crewful of competent medical officers, such a tool would always have a place.
Cadet Henchard noticed a small, ornate gold box resting on a vacant operating table. "Doctor Brelev, may I ask what that's used for?"

Location: Bridge
For the past thirty minutes, Drew had been up on the bridge, going over the final preparations for the mission, as well as overseeing everything for launch. In the last ten minutes, the turbolift doors hadn’t seemed to stop opening and closing, as Cadets and Instructor’s finished their tours and headed for the bridge. Operations was manned by Commander Reynolds and Cadet Smith, while over at the Engineering station sat Commander Smith and his Cadet, Charlotte Boissey. At the Tactical stations, Daya and Methos were both standing with their Cadets - Damon Taylor and Aleixa. S’reena was sitting at one of the mission specialist consoles, with her own Cadet, J.C. Isis. Dr. Brelev was still down in sickbay, and for some reason Dr. Kalen and Cadet Cain were also missing.
Deciding enough people were now present and ready, Drew sat down in the centre chair, and looked ahead to the viewscreen.
“Crystal, please take us out of spacedock.”
“Thrusters engaged,” Crystal reported, as her hands expertly flew over the console in front of her.
“Commander Smith, is the warp drive ready?” Drew asked, turning over to look at his Chief Engineer.
“Ready and waiting,” Max Smith replied.
“Very good, Crystal, set a course for the Yeta system, and go to warp five when ready.”
Looking around the bridge, Drew noticed many pairs of eyes watching him, it was time to start giving out some tasks.
“Commander Reynolds,” Drew said, turning up towards the Ops station, “I noticed during our last mission that computer response time was down a little, I would like you and Cadet Richards to run a level four diagnostic, and see if you can’t resolve the problem.”
“Will do Admiral,” Reynolds replied, turning to speak to Max Richards about the task ahead.
“Thank you,” Drew replied, “Daya and Methos, if you like you may take your Cadet’s down to the holodeck for some practice simulations, noting too dangerous though, I need you all in one piece.”
“And Commander Smith, I have been reading an interesting paper on ways to improve the efficiency of the warp drives fitted to the Intrepid class, perhaps you and Cadet Boissey could review the paper, and see if we could make any modifications to the Hanson.”
The Engineer nodded his head, and prepared to leave the bridge, Charlotte walking just behind him.
“Don’t worry Cadet Boissey,” Drew called out from behind him, “there is a definite scientific edge to the paper.”
The young woman smiled, as she and her instructor entered the turbolift, when they were gone, Drew turned round to face S’reena.
“You and Cadet Isis may as well man the science console Commander,” Drew said, “start exterminating with those new sensors we had fitted.”
“Aye Admiral,” S’reena replied, moving across the bridge with Cadet Isis.
Tasks now assigned to everyone on the bridge, Drew pulled up his own console to review the process of the various teams. He hadn’t given any of them much, but it would be enough to keep everyone busy for a short time, until things started to hot up.
As the ship flew into warp, Drew settled back in his chair, and rested his hands along the chairs arms. It was going to take a few hours to reach their destination, he might as well be comfortable.
“So Crystal,” Drew said, now that she like him had little to do expect press buttons, “how was your shore leave?”
OOC:
Right, I have given our various tasks in this post, with the intention of just giving you all a chance to explore the departments, and continue to develop friendships. You may create whatever reasons you like to resolve the tasks I set, and take things in any direction you fancy. This first week is really just about us all getting to know each other, and develop our writing styles.
I haven’t set tasks for Medical yet, because I have something planned that will happen very soon in the mission that will keep you more than busy, for now though, perhaps you could arrange a series of medicals?
Kalen/Cain, just continue with what you are doing, maybe Drew will find out about it ;-)
To the Cadets, you don’t need to wait for your Instructors to reply, you may start things off yourselves.
Any questions, please don’t be afraid to ask.

Paul had heard his comm badge, but was too afraid of getting into trouble to answer it. He didn't want this not on his first assignment. Maybe the admiral was round the corner he had to be quick. He grabbed the padd he had been studying. And edged his way to the door. As he made his way to the door he found himself thinking why hadn't the admiral just engaged the door locks. Then he wouldn't have found himself in such a predicament. Walking out of the door carefully Paul realized he had to get away quick. He pressed his comm badge to begin communique. =/\= Cain to Kalen=/\= =/\= Cain where have you been?=/\= =/\=err I'll explain when i get back to the labs.=/\= Paul whiped his forehead. That was a close call he thought as he made his way to the turbo lift. Maybe Kalen would let his tardiness go, maybe he would report it. Either way he had to stop being late. Stop going into day dreams and realize where he was. Ten minutes later"And thats what happened" Paul finished explaining to the Doctor who was giving him an incredulous look "honest, i didn't mean to be in their it was a gen........." Paul went white as a ghost. "I had two pads when i went in" Paul knew he had to get that pad back. Kalen looked at him with disappointment. Paul then realised they had both forgotten to report for duty. Now they were both for the high jump. Could they report in now or just wait for the captain to hail them through the comm system. Paul knew that Kalen’s signatures were on the pad he had been reading. Damn this was not a good first day he had not only got himself into trouble but unless they got the pad back, then he gotten his superior and instructor in it as well. This was not going to help their professional relationship. Now this had to be operation get that pad back. “What are we going to do?” Paul asked looking around the lab to try and take his mind off things. “ I don’t know yet” Kalen replied falling into his seat and rubbing his forehead. Paul was now thinking that having the Admiral shout at him on his first day was not going to help his career in Starfleet. Why didn’t he look where he was walking. The guilt began to rack up. “We haven’t reported for duty yet” Paul said just to make the situation worse. OOC Like this?? Kalen let me know if it is better or worse thanks.

After a break in the mess hall it was time to go to the bridge and to their duty stations.
In the religious silence observed during the takeoff procedure Charlotte like the others cadets and officers watched the admiral ordering the manoeuvre. The Yeta system ? She’d have liked to be able to consult the database about this system and learn about it. Anyway they would see it by themselves soon.
Her thoughts were cut by the orders distribution done by the admiral.
“And Commander Smith, I have been reading an interesting paper on ways to improve the efficiency of the warp drives fitted to the Intrepid class, perhaps you and Cadet Boissey could review the paper, and see if we could make any modifications to the Hanson.”
Charlotte stood up at Commander Smith sign and followed him to the turbolift. Warp drive improvement ? Charlotte was wondering what help she could be in that matter.
“Don’t worry Cadet Boissey,” Drew called out from behind him, “there is a definite scientific edge to the paper.”
She was taken aback and wondered how the admiral had managed to read her mind. Then she smiled, realising that was the expected reaction from her. “Good guess admiral” she thought to herself.
The turbolift was running down the ship.
“Here we are. I suppose I’ll learn everything I’ve never dared to ask about warp drives.” She commented with a little laughter to Commander Smith.
<tag Max>
They were back to engineering not even an hour after they’ve left it. Everyone was hurrying around monitoring the warp engines. Charlotte sat at her console and loaded the report transmitted by the bridge.
“Let’s see… Dr Duhar, Chief Warp engineer, Jupiter Station “Warp drive improvement : Of parsimonious addition of tetryon particles in a matter-antimatter reaction.”” Charlotte began to read out. She read further through the paper frowning under concentration. The physics terms were familiar but she had to mobilise her basis knowledge about engineering to understand the whole thing. According to Dr Duhar, the power of the warp drives could be enhanced by adding a small amount of tetryon particles in the intermix chamber. The tetryons were making the same effect in the matter-antimatter reaction than antimatter in a nuclear reaction, boosting the energy release up. The procedure was also indicating that one had to use the drive coils from the impulse drives to get tetryons out of subspace. The paper was going on about procedures and modifications to do such a thing.
“I don’t know Commander. The tetryon particles are both hard to contain and hard to control. They’re meant to remain in the subspace and their behaviour in regular space is chaotic. Otherwise the power surge could be indeed effective.”
She looked at Commander Smith who was reading the same paper on the next console.

(O.O.C I'm not sure if you had anything in mind for the box, but I applaud you or making me think creatively)Cadet Henchard noticed a small, ornate gold box resting on a vacant operating table. "Doctor Brelev, may I ask what that's used for?" <Tag Brelev> Brelev followed her cadet's gesture to the box. "Oh, I'd almost forgotten about that. I found it back when I was in the Academy, almost 20 years ago, in an antique shop. Let me show you." Brelev picked up the box and opened it revealing an ancient medical tool. a single black tube connected to a metal plate, following the tube up it divided and each side ended in a small wooden ball. "It's called a stethoscope, they used them on earth back in the 20th century to listen to the internal organs, the beating of the heart, and the rise and fall of the lungs. I found it yesterday night as I was cleaning through my quarters and was showing the nurses." "It's amazing, and so simple. Can I try it?" Cadet Henchard asked. "Sure, I'm afraid it does not work as well as it used to though. Place a wooden ball in each ear and press the metal disk onto your chest." Brelev helped Micheal adjust the stethoscope. "There, can you hear that?" Michael nodded "Sounds like a healthy heart to me." "So it's not much use to use nowadays, but it's certainly a full little sentimental thing to have around..." Brelev paused, feeling the slight pull that she had grown sensitive to through out her years. "I think we just jumped into warp so I certainly hope you did not forget anything on the station." She carefully put the stethoscope back into it's box. "Now is probably a good time for you to help me with some of the physicals that are due. Most crew members don't come in voluntarily and I like to wait until the ship is in warp since it is harder for them to escape. Let's start with.." Brelev pulled up her crewman roster and clicked her tongue as she looked down the list. "Ah, why don't we haul in Admiral Drew. He suffered some injury in the last few missions and I'd like to check how he is recovering. Why don't you go up to the bridge to collect him and I'll get things set up down here. Oh, and while you are there let Commander Hope know what we found out about her son, I'm sure she'd like to know." <Tag Henchard> (O.O.C you wanted us to do some physicals Admiral, now you get to live with the consequences)

Jason was a bit surprised at the strength of devotion and love his cadet had for what he was about to embark on. A career in Starfleet could be a difficult one, but it was also one of the most rewarding. Jason would do everything in his power to make Max wishes a reality.
"Well sir, my first question would be what things must I know as an operations officer?"
"Well you must know all day to day operations, you are also in charge of maintanence, daily reports from other departments, your are also expected to take charge of the science console if the science officer is hurt and your also need to get really aquainted with all of the ships sensors and anaylsis equipment."
"Wow, it is more difficult of which thought..."
"Well that's why I'm hear to help you," Jason said," and after a while it will be just second nature to you."
"Mr. Richards, I did forget," Jaosn said smiling," your also in chagre of running diagnostics of all systems. Now diagnostic controls are located behind you."
Jason pointed out the console and waited to see what the cadet would do. "Mr. Richards you first need to set the parameters of the diagnostic and then tell the computer to begin."

"Right. This is one of those ones that makes sense buy the way. the interaction between matter and Antimatter creates a quasi subspace field. In theory" Max tapped the screen. "this could speed the interaction, which would of course give us more power. But a faster reaction would also result in more stress on the core. They are also unstable as you said. So, It's been tested on a stable core, but I want you to figure out if it can hold up under fire and unstable conditions. Model it and see if surges might destabilize it or increase the pressure beyond the threshold."
Max Handed her a PADD. "It's a high energy physics question, and I believe that falls in your realm."

“Hey there,” Joanna Drew said to a passing crewmember as she walked back to her quarters. She had spent the last few hours down in the gym, and now she was ready for a nice relaxing bath, before starting her duty shift.
Just as she went to press the lock control on her door pad, she was surprised to see that her quarters were already unlocked. She frowned in surprise, her husband was still on duty, and the children hadn’t yet joined them on the Hanson, opting instead to go home to Mars for the summer. The quarters should therefore have been locked.
“Hello?” Joanna called out as she walked into the quarters, which were now fully lit, even though she had turned out the lights before leaving.
There was no reply.
“Paul?” Joanna called again, as she slowly walked around the room, “are you here?”
Again, no one answered her.
“Computer, is anyone else in these quarters?” Joanna asked, her hand already rising to her comm badge to call security.
“Negative,” the computer replied.
It was then Joanna noticed the silver padd on the small table in the centre of the room, she picked it up, and was surprised to see it was a science file, signed by Dr. Kalen.
“Commander Drew to Kalen,” Joanna said, tapping her badge, “do you mind explaining how one of your padds made its way to my quarters?”
OOC:
Take it away Kalen and Cain, be warned, Mrs. Drew can have one hell of a temper on her lol

S'reena had beckoned her own cadet to come with her to the science console and had patiently started explaining how this particular console worked. With the new upgrades done to it, she too had to think what exactly which button was for as it had been a fair while since she'd done any specific instructing.
"I used to be this ship's science instructor," she confessed with a slight smile, "but I haven't made use of any science facilities since having been promoted to first officer so you and I are going to walk through our ah...manual...together."
The Romulan motioned for Isis to sit down at the console and together they started walking through the manual, with S'reena watching how Isis performed her tasks.
"Now that we have calibrated our sensors, " S'reena continued, "why don't you start scanning the space around us? Look for anything interesting."
The young cadet nodded and focused on her console, keeping the manual as a back-up. Glancing to her right, S'reena smiled at Drew, shrugging ever so slightly. She hadn't been lying when she said it had been a while, and this had been a good fresh-up course for her.
Suddenly, the console started beeping loudly and S'reena's attention was abruptly returned to her cadet. "What've you done?" she querried, as she leaned over her cadet to see what she'd been doing. "Ah, one of the sensors is malfunctioning...seems you forgot to calibrate that one."
"I didn't forget," Isis retorted angrily.
S'reena couldn't tell why she was angry but a brief argument over the issue erupted and suddenly S'reena found herself being knocked against the wall behind the science console. She heard glass breaking and she knew she'd crashed into some of the panels behind the science console but it took several seconds to realize why.
The burning sensation on her left cheek told her she'd been punched and when she re-opened her eyes she still saw Isis standing before her, poised to strike again. Eyes flashing anger, S'reena had to restrain herself from reaching for her Honor Blade, an instinct wich was so ingrained it took considerable effort.
"Security, please escort Miss Isis to the brig," she hissed, glaring in Daya's direction. "Striking an officer is a serious charge Miss Isis," she continued, "you will be confined to the brig until further notice, and you are not to receive visitors."

“Commander Drew to Kalen,” Joanna said, tapping her badge, “do you mind explaining how one of your pads made its way to my quarters?” That had been the sound of Joanna Drew's voice over the comm system. Paul's heart jumped up into his throat. He looked at Kalen who also looked like he had swallowed a bee. Maybe they could talk their way out of the situation. Kalen looked and Cadet Cain. =/\= One of my pads ma'am, I don't know how that could have happened.=/\= =/\= I would like to see you in my quarters please=/\= =/\=Aye=/\= Kalen went to leave and Cain followed him. Kalen tried to get him to stay but Paul was quite adamant that he too was going to go and explain. It had been a genuine mistake he had only been on board a short while and had lost his bearings. As they stepped into the turbo lift Kalen gave a sigh. "Doctor it's my fault, I'll explain" Paul said "Let me do the talking and you may get off with a warning" Kalen replied. Paul could see a look of disappointment and slight look of failure in Kalens eyes. Paul decided to avert his eyes from Kalens it had too many bad memories from his own past. Too many times had he seen that look. He had better get his act together now Paul thought to himself. If he was going to make it in star fleet it was time to take it serious and stop thinking single mindedly. As Paul looked at the floor in the turbo lift he let slip "Yes sir" As the turbo lift reached it's destination and the doors opened. Both men stepped onto the deck and walked along the corridor to the correct quarters. Paul gulped as Kalen pressed the door bell. "Enter" Joanna Drew's voice came from behind the door. The doors opened and both men walked in. "I assume you can explain this Doctor, Cadet." Drew asked. <Kalen> OOC I didn't mention which drew but if the admiral has time he could have joined us there if not just me Kalen and Mrs Drew.

Location: BridgeJason pointed out the console and waited to see what the cadet would do. "Mr. Richards you first need to set the parameters of the diagnostic and then tell the computer to begin."Those words indicated to him that it was hour to act. Without leaving the glance in the controls, he began to handle them. Max entered the systems and he observed the main menu awhile. Soon he began to manipulate the controls, as if he knew exactly what had to do. In the screen: Systems Panel -------------Level 4 Diagnostic . Begin . . . Check Systems . Main Computer - Cores . . . . . . OK- Core Memory . . . . . . OK- Subprocessors -- Bridge.... OK-- Officer's Mess.... OK-- Deck 3.... OK-- Deck 4.... Failure Transporter Rooms - Energy Distribution bypassed - Check!-- Deck 5 - 10.... OK-- Deck 11... OK-- Deck 12 - 15... OK- Isolinear Optical Chip...... OK- Sensors.............. OK- Life Support Systems..... OK. Passed time: 31 seconds. When finishing, Max felt safe of his actions. He said "Commander, according to this report, is bypass in Transporter Rooms. This is work of engineering, but it is easy to fix." Then, he knew that he could fix that, had an ample experience in transporters. Although it is work of the engineers, a little fun... "I repeat that this is work of the engineers, but I can fix it, I have knowledge in transporters." <Tag Reynolds> OOC: The imagination is part of the game, we will see that it happens.

The science officer didn’t need to be a betazoid to figure out that Joanna wasn’t best pleased. In fact, he was reasonably sure that even a ferengi could have worked it out. Maybe. If there was some kind of profit to be found from the situation. He sighed inwardly, as his mind ran through a million scenarios. He had still not decided exactly what he wanted to tell Joanna, the truth, a version of it, or a complete lie. Admittedly, telling a white-faced lie was not something he was trained to do, far from it, but for something so innocuous…
The problem was, it wasn’t innocuous. Although Kalen was convinced of Cain innocence in the matter; the story he had told Kalen had certainly sounded plausible at least, he knew that ‘breaking’ into another officer’s quarters was a crime that had harsh punishment within Starfleet, and even more so when that was the commanding officer’s quarters. So although it was something so small, it was actually something that could cost this promising cadet his whole Starfleet career.
It was due to this that Kalen decided he would have to tell Commander Drew a story that had very little semblance of the truth. Indeed, it was a tactic he was well adapted for, as he could monitor her thoughts and adjust his story as he went along to make sure she believed it. Of course, either part of this plan if found out would cost the betazoid a few weeks in the brig, but that seemed a small price in comparison to what Cain could be expected to receive.
Just as he opened his mouth and was about to speak however, his mind was taken over by a sudden flash of guilt; an emotion that was now pouring off the young cadet beside him. Kalen let his shoulders droop, knowing exactly what was about to happen.
“It was my fault Commander, I was…”
Kalen could only hope that Joanna was willing to believe it was as innocent and accidental as he had; otherwise this could be the last the cadet saw of the inside of a starship.
OOC: Cain, for me I thought that post was easier to read with its longer paragraphs, but what do you think? Do you prefer the longer or shorter?

Charlotte took the padd Commander Smith was handing her. It was containing all the data about the intermix chamber of the Hanson.
“Aye, sir. I’m on it.”
She started by building a simulation of the Hanson warp core then added the modifications indicated by Dr Duhar. She affected one of the antimatter injectors to a theoretic source of tetryons. On the real ship one of the antimatter containers would be also modified to host the tetryon particles but it was not necessary to the model. Three quarters of an hour were gone before she get a model fitting to Dr Duhar theory.
She reported to Commander Smith her first observations.
“The tetryon addition is only 0.8% of the antimatter mass used. That is a very little amount… But according to the simulation it increases the energy result by 28.4 % like Dr Duhar stated. The reaction is as stable as before due to this limited mass of tetryons. I’m about to start tests of battle stress on the core.”
<tag Max Smith>
“Aye sir”
She got back to her model and loaded the database records about the kinds of destabilisations that could affect a warp core. She ran a diagnostic program which would take note of any variation in the warp reaction as each test proceeded. This was going to be long…

Alexia finally nodded and headed for the location she was given to were she would find her instructor.. Major Methos was incharge of the marines on the ship and that in itself would provide her with a very unique point of view on things... After taking the turborlift to yet another deck she finally entered the area were Major Methos was addressing the other officers... She quietly stepped in and went up to report for duty..
" Major Methos.. I am Alexia Katan reporting for duty... Sorry I was late there was a mix up in the assignments.."

Damon and his new instructor seemed to hit it off pretty well . He discovered that they both had a taste for ancieant bladed weapons and martial arts.
"actually ive been trained in mostly terran blades , there is nothing quite as fast in my opinion" Daya seemed impressed by this.
"and my martial arts training was very extensive , in unarmed combat i have a very good record , and graduated from a shoaolin training camp when i was 16. 7 years before the average" The young cadet was musing over the idea of sparring with his instructor and felt that this idea could be interesting.
They reached the bridge and the Captain told them that they should go to the Holodeck to practice now as there was already an officer stationed.
Just then There was a crash nearby and turned to see a cadet striking an officer. As instinct cadet taylor lunged towards them , not just because of the cadet , but because it looked like the officer was about to strike back aswell.
With a growl Commander Hope turned to DAYA. "Security, please escort Miss Isis to the brig,"
Isis lifted her arm again but The new security cadet reached forward and grabbed it from the air an twisted it behind her back.
"Striking an officer is a serious charge Miss Isis, you will be confined to the brig until further notice, and you are not to receive visitors." Isis struggled a little but then Daya grabbed her other arm and the security personel walked her towards the turbolift.

When they got to the Brig Daya went to the console and charged the beam for the empty cell while Damion Taylor walked Isis to the empty bunk inside.
Just as he was going to leave Isis wouldn't sit down and attempted to push past him.
"please , don't struggle there is no point" she pushed him into the wall and darted for the exit. Before the was even a word uttered Taylor swung his leg across in between Isis and the exit and she stopped and turned to him swinging her fist. He grabbed her wrist and she fell to her knees as he slowly twisted her arm , then he released it and she fell to the floor. Daya activated the force field.
Damon shook his hand and walked to the wall panel and pressed a button.
=A= Medical officer to the brig please=A=

OOC: Daya , I hope you don't mind me taking this shout?
