"Dr. Brelev"; Salek said looking at the Denobulan hanging on to the bio bed, "You were on board the ship during the last mission therefore we will need to examine you. However due to how the sickbay is crowded right now, we need all the help we can get, if you feel you can keep on doing your assignment... I will not prevent you from doing so... for now.", he said, "However, should I determine that you pose a risk to yourself or your patients I will not allow you to proceed.", he said "Understood perfectly, I would do the same in your situation Salek. Although this is my ship, and I am on duty you are still in charge here." Brelev replied. "I feel I can administer treatment and make decisions, I will however follow the advice I give all my patients and take it easy. Let me help you empty this place out a little and then by all means examine me." Salek seemed satisfied with this answer and allowed Brelev to make her way to the nearest patient a mildly wounded engineer. The Tissue Mitigator quickly sealed his injuries and Brelev sent him off. Most often injuries like that would be taken care of on site by a collegue, but the crewman was most likely surprised by the amount of blood and headed immediatly to sickbay. Brelev could hardly complain, she preferd to treat the crew rather then risk them botching up on each other. It was not long before the medical team had achieved victory and where back to where they where, granted a few of the newly wounded where being kept on cots in ward 2 for observation, but they would be sent on their way soon. Brelev breathed a sigh of relief and sat down. "I will proceed to the bridge to asses the situation there with so many of the senior staff in sickbay, the mental state of those there might not be what it should right now and a part of my duties as a counselor is to make sure they are fit to perform their duty under these conditions.", he said, "I will also run a scan of Admiral Drew while I am on the bridge and transmit the data to sickbay. Will you be able to take care of the things here?", he asked "Oh, certainly" Brelev was surprised about how little she knew about this vulcan. He'd been the one recammended by a collegue to take her place for the mission but other then his race, gender, name and the fact he had been a medical officer Brelev knew nothing about him. "Perhaps you can convince Admiral Drew to come down while you are up there." With Salek gone Brelev was now, in many respects, alone. No that was not true, there where the nurses who welcomed her back as they made their rounds and the EMH who rarely said anything. She was still in her civilian clothes, now spotted with a multitude of blood shades. Federation uniforms where created to repell such stains, and medical officer uniforms could remain amazingly sanitized. This outfit would not meet standards. Did she risk leaving to change, or stay? "Doctor, the vulcan said that I could leave for my quarters once the dizzyness went away." Brelev turned to see a young ops crewman standing behind her. "Alright, you can go if you promise to take it easy." Brelev replied. Then she had an idea, she recougnised this young man, he had quarters not far from hers. "Would you drop my by quarters and pick up my uniform, it's laying on the desk.?" The young man agreed and Brelev told him which door was hers. That saved her two problems, one she did not have to leave the patients and two she did not need to do a large amount of walking. Brelev pulled up the treatment files of the ill crewmembers, Salek and Nack where doing everything she would have done given the fact they had no clue what this was. They where forces to treat symptoms rather then face the cause head on. She made some rounds of her own, saying hello to Crystal, Methos and S'reena. "How are you feeling?" Brelev asked, she was hoping to stick to formalities and not drift into awkward conversations regarding the last mission and the first officer's little mutiny. " <Tag S'reena>

[OOC]Backposting myself into the last three weeks.[/OOC]
Crystal noticed Commander Hope looking a little ill, and decided to alert medical to it. Crystal herself wasn't doing perfectly, but that was life.
It was probably just stress, in which case Crystal might be best off ignoring it and continuing to work on finding the answer to their problems. After all, if it was stress, the best idea was to remove the cause rather than just take a break. And if it wasn't stress, but some sort of illness, it might well be the same thing that was affecting Commander Hope. In which case, if it was serious, the medical cadet would notice, and probably mention something. But in the mean time, Crystal should just...not try to make any sudden movements. Or many movements at all. Just to be safe. It wasn't like she wasn't incapable of stopping her leaning on the console, she just didn't want to incur a giant headache. But she was still perfectly capable of doing her job.
Crystal was shocked when she learned that Drew had instigated the lock down, but it made sense in a way. And it did seem to have been a good chance for the cadets and instructors to learn. However, now that there was piloting that was going to have to be done, Crystal wasn't sure she would actually be able to watch Marsh enough to catch any mistakes the cadet might make. Which was not good.
Crystal tried in vain to focus on the navigation console, but it wasn't working. “Admiral?” she said, her own voice sounding a little too loud to herself, but Admiral Drew didn't seem to hear her. She repeated the query, and got his attention.
“Yes Commander?”
“I'm not feeling so well. I think perhaps I should go to sickbay,” Crystal replied, and gestured to Cadet Marsh to make sure someone would watch the cadet.
<Tag Marsh>
Crystal walked down to sickbay and was greeted there by a ferengi medical cadet who checked her vitals and then had her sit on a biobed and ran a lot of tests on her.
Then a Vulcan came over and asked Crystal how she felt. “Not in any hurry to stand up,” Crystal said. “Still a little dizzy. I don't seem to be in much danger of fainting right now though.” She smiled slightly at the doctor, but he didn't seem to be as pleased with this fact as Crystal was. Oh well. She was instructed to stay in sickbay until someone told her she could leave, and Crystal realized this was one of the few times she had been in a sickbay.
She should probably ask to have her physical done now so she wouldn't have to make an extra trip down here, but was fairly certain that the physical would simply show she wasn't quite fit for duty yet. Which probably wasn't actually what Crystal wanted. Just sitting here though, that was becoming a little tedious, Crystal had never been overly fond of sitting around doing nothing.

S'reena opened her eyes and managed a weak smile when she saw te Denobulan CMO. "Better," she answered, "but still terrible. What are you doing here doctor, I thought you were in hibernation. Salek's sort of taken over your sickbay and this medical cadet is doing extremely well, especially for a Ferengi."
She struggled to sit up a little further, getting tired of her lying-down position and barely managed to keep what little fluid was still left in her stomach down. "What is going on doctor?" she finally asked, "you don't look too good yourself."
Then she managed another smile, though it was both mocking and jokingly. "Don't tell me you're worried about me doctor, you and I both know that you would sooner see me off the ship." From the corner of her eyes she saw Nack approach, looking none too happy.
(brelev)
"Sup doc?" she querried, pretending to be quite lively and happy, whereas she felt as though her stomach would turn itself inside out again. At least her fever had dropped and she was breathing reasonably normally again. "How long until I can get back to duty?" She desperately wanted to get out of sickbay, and the sooner the better. Yet she knew she wasn't going to leave on her own accord, not this time, she'd never make it to the door to begin with.
(nack)
Meanwhile Dharma had raced off the bridge and into engineering. "Has that Vulcan cadet arrived yet?" she enquired, stepping up to both Sienta and Smith. "She was shirking her duties and hiding in her quarters."

Nack hurried out with the blood samples, almost dropping them when he bumped into a Cadet he hadn't seen until now.
"Oh sorry...", Nack recognized the science officer uniform, but not the Cadet in it.
"Cadet Doppelpunkt... I'm trying to find sickbay. I was there earlier for training, but I seem to have gotten lost this time. What's going on anyway? Commander Salek suggested I go off duty to get some rest after the lockdown. I just got shook out of bed, I was wondering if anyone needed my assistance."
Rest... Something Nack wished he could get soon. He had been through worse when he was younger, however, and refused to let tiredness get in the way of helping his new crew-mates.
"The sickbay is just around the corner back that way, Mr. Doplepu.... Dopunk.... Do..."
"Doppelpunkt.", the Cadet said, clearly used to the mispronunciation of his name.
"Doppelpunkt... yes. Well, I need to get off to the biomedical laboratory. I'm sure Commander Salek or the other Dr.," Brelev's name slipped Nack's mind, "will be more than happy to get you going." Nack didn't have time to explain the situation. Doppelpunkt will figure it out soon enough.
The Cadet started to walk away.
"Oh wait..." Nack turned back around and shouted, "Try not to get stuck treating the Romulan Commander." Doppelpunkt looked confused and turned around. Nack wished that he had received the same warning earlier.
Nack made his way to the turbolift at the end of the corridor, but it was offline. "Why haven't the engineers responded? A normal ship function like this would be one of the first systems to be repaired." Dreading the jeffries tubes again, Nack found another turbolift, and took it up to the bio lab.
Nack started the cultures. The sickbay had a similar system, but the bio-regenerative facility in the bio-chemistry lab was by far a simpler and more precise instrument.
Nack sat down in a nearby chair, since there were no commanding officers in the bio-chemistry lab at the time.
"Computer, accelerate hematological metabolism by 200 percent."
The computer made a few noises, and its familiar voice stated "Estimated time to completion: 8 minutes."
Nack tried to fight off his exhaustion while he waited, but it soon caught up with him, and he was fast asleep within a couple of minutes.

Brelev ran a few scans on the Romulan First officer as they talked. It made her feel less like she was visiting and more like she was just doing her job and S'reena was nothing more then a patient. "Look, I'll be honest I found your actions during the last mission to be inexcusable. However I have to admit that the results, although unexpected on my end, where as hoped. That said, I'm not going to pretend that I find you to be a..." Brelev struggled ot find a polite way to say what she meant. "pleasent person to be around. But I can't argue that you do your job and get things done." Brelev put a way her tricorder. 'For someone who hates sickbay you get sent here a lot.
"As for myself, I seem to have the same thing you do, although to a lesser extent. This could be due to my hibernation, or something else entirely. Your condition has not changed substantially." Brelev finished updating the record and headed toward her office. Salek had made a few minor adjustments for his stay, none of which bother Brelev in the least.
She was getting impatient, rounds could be done by a nurse, she wanted to be making some progress. Once Nack or Salek returned they would take some blood tests on her... but why could she not due the tests herself, none required her to be unconsouse. Brelev returned to ward one and gatherd the necessary supplies. She drew a vial of blood, took some scans and other samples. Before long her own tests where ready to go down to the lab with the others, perhaps this would clear up why she was not as sick as S'reena.
=A=Doctor Brelev to cadet Nack=A= she would send the cadet her samples, but first he needed to know they where coming.
There was not reply
=A=Brelev to cadet Nack, respong=A= Brelev furrowed her brow, what was going on
<Tag Nack>
"Doctor, I've got your uniform." Brelev turned to see the young man she had sent on the errand enter. "I'm sorry it took so long, I ran into my superior and she wanted to know why I wasn't in here or resting. It's all cleared up now."
"Thank you Crewman" Brelev replied taking the uniform. She dismissed him and headed into her office to change. When she returned cadet Nack was talking with S'reena, Brelev managed to catch the last few phrases.
"How long until I can get back to duty?" S'reena was asking, doing her best to sound alert and healthy. Did Brelev warn Nack about the Commander, or did Nack already know. Of course for his own education it would be best to let him figure this out for himself.

*Analysis Complete*
The sound of the computer made Nack jump to attention, only to realize that he was still the only one in the laboratory.
"Computer, send all results to sickbay."
*Affirmative*
Nack rubbed his eyes, and made his way back to the working turbolift. Along the way he stopped at a replicator for a snail juice, no shells. He consumed it quickly, and placed the glass back in the replicator, and was on his way again.
Arriving in sickbay, Brelev was nowhere to be found. Nack made sure the blood sample readings had been received, and started making rounds again. He was in the middle of taking care of the Romulan first officer again when the doctor appeared.
S'reena asked.
"Uh... ," Nack looked around as if he was going to find the right words to use written on a console somewhere. "soon... probably... maybe... uh.." Nack felt the loathing emanate from her weak body. How did he get stuck answering the questions that had answers she didn't want to hear? Where was Doppunk... dop.. whatever his name was?! He was starting to wish he left his warning to himself. The other Cadet was playing it safe making the round of patients on the other end of sickbay.
Brelev stepped in.
"Cadet Nack, why didn't you answer my communique?"
"Communique? What communi..."
"Uh oh," Nack thought to himself.
"The ships systems have been having problems since our jolt earlier... Maybe that affected communications? We should have a diagnostic run on that." Nack started to ramble aloud, keeping in mind Rule of Acquisition #60 while he continued. "The turbolift at the end of this hallway was also out." ...skipping to a new subject... "By the way, your reports are completed for the 3 samples you sent me up with. I had them sent to the console over there." Nack said loosely pointing while hoping he avoided any further questioning. "Oh, and I wanted to tell you," Nack acted like he was giving the largest compliment in the galaxy, "the ship's library contains an excellent recipe for Snail Juice. Of course, I ordered it without shells, so I can't tell you if it would have tasted correct with shells." Nack gave a nervous grin.
Brelev had a blank stare. Even S'reena sat up a bit to try to logically piece the monologue together.
"Is there anything else you would like me to do," Nack quickly counted the pips on the uniform, "Commander?"
Had Nack really fooled the Commander? He thought: It was either because of the lack of evidence to do call him a liar, or because he was successful at changing the subject.
Brelev walked in silence to the console containing the results of the blood culture. Nack followed, vowing to himself never let that happen again.
While Brelev was cross-referencing the results, she gave Nack the new blood samples and sent him on his way again.
As Nack made his way down the corridor, Dr. Brelev tapped her com-badge.
=/\= Dr. Brelev to Cadet Nack =/\=
Nack tapped his badge. =/\= Yes Commander? =/\=
Brelev, in a sarcastically naive tone, responded, =/\= Just making sure you are awake. Brelev out. =/\=
Feeling ashamed and defeated, Nack made his way back to the bio-chem lab.

After departing from sickbay, Salek was walking with his usual speed towards the nearest operational turbolift. It appeared that the Toko belt effects have already affected the ship and disabled some systems, at least that is the response he got from the computer after inquiring to the nature of the malfunction. As he was walking he met several officers wearing a yellow uniform who were running around carrying tools to repair the damage and attempt to get all ships system operational again. During his trip to the bridge, Salek could not, no matter how hard he tried, avoid to think about the last mission he was on for SFI. Actually it was more a cleanup than a mission. When their team arrived on the site all they found was corpses, all in the same stage of decomposition.
And their TOD was only 1 hour before his team arrived. They were all half burnt, but without any indication to what caused the burning. The computer files were all wiped out, equipment destroyed. There was not even the smallest piece of evidence left there. Someone had destroyed it all, everything. Salek could not avoid admiring the efficiency of whoever did it. They made sure that there was no evidence whatsoever left there to indicate who has done it. The weapons cache that they were supposed to locate was also missing, so whoever did it took the weapons with them. And that was what troubled the SFIAIC.
The conclusion the debrief comity reached after hearing out all the members of the team was that an opposing groups took them down and made away with the weapons. But Salek was not sure. There was no indication on the market that a new shipment of weapons arrived; therefore whoever took it did not intend to sell it. And the amount that was supposedly there was far too large for anyone’s personal use. It was for this reason that Salek found this... illogical to be done by an opposing group. Someone else was responsible for this. Who or for what reason was an unknown factor to Salek but he was going to continue watching the market for any signs of the weapons that disappeared and perhaps at some point they would reappear and they would finally be able to explain what happened to the weapons.
As he ceased thinking about this he realized that he has already arrived to the bridge and that the bridge crew was looking at him in an odd way. He ignored their views and did not comment on them but simply proceeded to the center seat where Admiral Drew was sitting.
"Admiral", Salek said, "I have some here to asses the psychological state of the bridge crew under these conditions and to give you an exam on which i will base my decision if you are still fit to be on duty or if we need to confine you to sickbay,", he said, "Admiral, nothing you say can change what I must do and it will not alter my decision if I determine you are not fit to be on duty. I have... done you a favor by coming here instead of making you come down to sickbay but do not think that I will not act in the interest of logic if I determine that you are ill... because i will act as logic states and will not allow you to remain on duty if I determine you ay prove a liability or a risk to yourself or to the others by remaining in command", he said
Drew did not respond right away after Salek was done speaking he was most likely attempting to come up with a reasonable argument to oppose what Salek had just said, but that did not concern Salek at this time. Silence was just fine by him. The tricoder would tell him everything he needed to know. After running a standard scan he was able to determine that the Captain was suffering from the same symptoms as the rest of the crew. Tachycardia, increased body temperature...
"Tell me Admiral, how it makes you feel when members of your senior staff are ill and the nature of their illness is unknown", Salek asked
<Tag Drew>
"Do you feel you are capable of commanding this vessel in your present condition?", he asked
<Tag Drew>
"If one of your crewmembers was in the same condition as you are now would you not order them to sickbay?", he asked
<Tag Drew>
"Then my dear Admiral is it not logical that the same rules should apply to everyone? Is it not illogical to risk having you collapse in the middle of a high risk situation? Let us presume that the Hanson is near a star going supernova, the gravity pull on the ship is high and thee is only one chance for escape. Igniting the engines at an exact moment would save the ship but igniting them at any other moment would mean its destruction. The bridge crew is all waiting for you to give them an order to ignite the engine. You collapse at that exact moment and the only chance for survival is gone for ever. You have, out of your great concern for your ship and crew, brought about it's destruction for refusing to get treated in sickbay. Would you be able to forgive yourself for this if you lived through it? Are you prepared to risk your ship and crew in this way? Are you 100% certain that this could not happen to you in your present condition if you are aware what happened to some of your officers suffering from the same illness as you?", Salek asked

Brelev let out a chuckle as she closed the communique between herself and Nack, eh was clever but not that clever. Brelev was no Betazoid, but she'd been around long enough to catch a lie and Nack was, for a Ferengi, a bad liar. He needed to learn that if he felt that tired he needed to either ask permission for a rest, or under intense stress take a mild stimulant.
Other then this episode Brelev was impressed by the young Ferengi. He showed little of his specie's traits that would normally grate on her nerves, was reasonibly polite and from what she'd seen he was clever. Of course one did not get this far in the Academy unless you where intelligent. He'd make an excellent doctor, but Brelev would love to get a glimpse of the looks on the faces of the crew who finds out they have him as a CMO.
Brelev felt as though she was working with a puzzle. The samples she had where almost all human, of course StarFleet was made up of mainly humans. Some differences she could cancel out based on gender, species even age. This narrowed the field, somewhat. There had to be a reason that some of those affected where worse off then others, a trigger of some sort which would help them to prevent future cases from getting so seriose.
She'd tried dozens of arrangements based on blood type, species, what they'd had for dinner, some looked promising, but someone always broke the pattern. She'd tried everything she could think of and was about ready to grab a cup of jasmine tea and make a few rounds, but she would not give up so easily. She did grab the tea, but she made her way over to Nack instead of to the biobeds.
"Cadet Nack, I'd like to go over the treatment process you and Doctor Salek have been giving from the beginning again. I feel like I am missing something. Did you notice any profound differences between the patients before beginning treatment?" Brelev asked.
<Tag Nack>
"Alright, I'm just trying to figure out why we've got two groups here. If I can figure out why cases like Commander Hope are so ill and why other cases like cadet.." Brelev sought for the name on the tests she'd been working with. "...Beu-Pas are simply experiancing an elevated beta-T-cell count. Can you think of any differences you noticed between the two individuals apart from anything I might have tried."
"What have you tried?" cadet Nack asked.
"Species, gender, blood type, allergies, proscribed medication, recent illnesses, what they had to eat within the last 24 hours....." Brelev let herself trail off, she assumed Cadet Nack got the picture. "I just need another... pair of lobes, to tackle this from their own individual angle."

OOC: Note my LOA this weekend. I can post again starting Monday. "Cadet Nack, I'd like to go over the treatment process you and Doctor Salek have been giving from the beginning again. I feel like I am missing something. Did you notice any profound differences between the patients before beginning treatment?" "No... They were all either complaining of headaches, or they were beamed here by others. Fortunately for some, the headaches have gone away."
Brelev was in deep thought. Why did the people on the last mission get sick, and why are some people getting better when others aren't?
"What have you tried?" Nack asked.
"Species, gender, blood type, allergies, proscribed medication, recent illnesses, what they had to eat within the last 24 hours....." Brelev let herself trail off, she assumed Cadet Nack got the picture. "I just need another... pair of lobes, to tackle this from their own individual angle." "If I was thinking with my lobes, we wouldn't be in sickbay right now," Nack thought to himself. Nack appreciated her attempt to appeal to his Ferengi side, but as was common with non-Ferengi, the analogy was short of being good. Nack laughed to himself and gave a suggestion.
"Maybe we should retrace everyone's steps from when they started feeling ill until they arrived in sickbay."
"-- S'reena. I had to visit her up on the bridge when the lockdown occurred. She was later beamed down to sickbay. -- Methos. Michael Hope claims he reported to Admiral Drew, and then collapsed. The Admiral beamed him to sickbay too. -- Shinsei. She was brought down to sickbay after someone had found her collapsed. She was showing signs of improvement, with the elevated beta T Cell count also."
Nack looked around.
"Oh - and you - you came in here shortly before we departed, and you are showing signs of improvement also with the beta T-cell..."
Nack heard Methos groan, and walked over to him to give him a tranquilizer.
Brelev stood on her own, trying to piece together what they all had in common

Drew looked up at his Counsellor, if there was one thing he hated besides sickbay, it was Vulcan’s and their logic. Ignoring the sharp pains in his back and legs as he rose to his feet, Drew spread out his arms and pointed around the bridge.
“And who do you suggests commands this vessel while I am in sickbay?” Drew asked, “The majority of my senior staff are already in sickbay, and from what you tell me, I can expect the rest to end up there too.”
Before Salek could give an answer, an alarm starting to sound from the Operations station.
“Report,” Drew ordered, spinning round to face Commander Reynolds.
“Admiral, I don’t believe it, but we are picking up the Yorktown’s distress signal, a few parsecs.”
Drew exchanged glances with his Ops officer, and paying no attention to the still present Counselor Salek, retook his chair.
“Let’s hear it,” he ordered.
“This is the Federation Starship Yorktown to any vessel,” a deep woman’s voice said over the comm channel, “we require urgent assistance, we have suffered massive internal damage, our warp drive is offline, and life support is failing, I repeat we require urgent assistance.”
“Tell them we are on our way,” Drew ordered, “at impulse speeds we can be there in a few hours.”
Just then, the turbolift doors to the bridge opened up, Drew was surprised to see that it was S’reena walking back out onto the deck. Although she still looked ill, she seemed better than the last time he had saw her.
“I thought you were meant to be in sickbay?” he asked his Exec as she took her own seat.
"I was," the Romulan replied, avoiding Drew's gaze. "I was started to get bored in sickbay, and I promised the doctors that I'd be a good girl and just sit here and observe."
“Can’t say I blame you, have pulled that trick enough times myself.”
S'reena chuckled, but still avoided looking up at him. "Surely you're not a girl?" Then she did look up, her expression serious and devoid of her earlier amusement. "What has been happening while I was...cooped up in sickbay?"
“We have picked up the Yorktown’s distress call, but without warp drive its going to take us a few hours to get there, we need to start preparing a full away team.”
As S’reena nodded her understanding, and began keying in commands, Salek once again sought Drew’s attention.
“It seems your problem of who to leave in command has been solved, may I suggest you now report to sickbay.”
Only now did S'reena noticed how bad her commanding officer looked. "I would concur," she responded, looking extremely worried now. Then she gazed up at Salek. "I really do feel much better, I can make the awayteam arrangements better than anyone else. And having something to do will help me more than just idly sitting around here."
At Salek's nod, she turned back to Drew. "You really should report to sickbay. With all due respect, you look horrible!"
“Oh very well,” Drew gave in, as he slowly pulled himself to his feet, “but I am not staying there all day.”
"You are staying there as long as is needed," S'reena told him more stern than intended, "it is bad when a first officer falls ill, but it is far worse if the commanding officer is ill. Think of morale admiral...no, you're staying there as long as Brelev thinks is necessary. And don't worry about me, I'll be back in sickbay as soon as I feel ill again. And I suspect Salek will keep me to that, he knows me far longer than you do."

After Drew had departed the bridge, S'reena looked up at Salek. "Commander would you be so kind to assist me to the briefingroom? I assure you I'm getting stronger every minute, by the time this briefing is over I'll be able to do more than just...saunter." She tapped her combadge while she got up. "All cadets report to the briefing room. All instructors, stay where you are."
She nodded at Salek. "Just you and me honey," she smiled, knowing that the term 'honey' would likely draw a very Vulcan response from her friend. "Commander Reynolds, you've the bridge. Keep tracking the Yorktown and warn me if her situation changes."
When they entered the briefingroom they waited for the cadets to arrive. S'reena hoped they wouldn't take too long on arriving, she wasn't a person suitable for sitting still. She smiled when at last Nack, Doppelpunkt, Ardawen, Sienta and the time displaced Beu-Pas entered the room. Marsh didn't show up, but S'reena hoped she'd arrive soon. However, there was no time to wait for her.
"As you all know by now, we've located the Yorktown. Admiral Drew has ordered me to take you all on a little away mission. So I want you to prepare for possible zero-gravity environment. Sienta and Beu-Pas, take an engineering kit you may need it for repairs. Ardawen, you're our security guard...take note of any possible intruders. Nack and Doppelpunkt, I want you to prepare for casualties. And I don't mean myself. Salek here will be coming with us as back-up."
She glanced at the Vulcan. "Well not really back up, but I am not going to split our team up without having another instructor present. And I know Salek is extremely capable and experienced. Once we beam over, Nack, Doppelpunkt and Ardawen will go with Salek. Beu-Pas and Sienta will come with me. If Cadet Marsh shows up, she'll be assigned to my team as well. Any questions?"

"I have one." said Fred. The other cadets looked at him in shock. His tone of voice had surprised them.
"Yes?"
"Well I was wondering why you are taking the mission to the other ship. I have noticed a slight problem with Vulcans and Romulans catching a virus like this. They can become more cowardly!"
S'reena's cheeks flushed in anger and her eyes echoed her true feelings as she scowled under her breath. She felt Salek's hand on her arm and noticed the almost undetectable shake of his head only because she had known him for so long. "Your observation is noted cadet Doppelpunkt," she snapped, "in case you have not noticed, this particular Romulan happens to be the first officer on the ship you're training on. Now, focus on the task at hand and keep your personal sentiments to yourself. Any other questions?"

Brelev was still stumped. What Nack had told her was enlightening yes, but it was not as helpful as she had hoped. The only differance between those with the elevated Beta T levals and those more ill was that some where more ill then others, and that was what she was trying to figure out.
Nack had mentioned that Methos and S'reena had both beamed down, whereas Crystal had been brought down. Maybe that was the difference. Of course Brelev had used the transporter several times and she was suffering the same as Crystal. So there it was, any decent idea of how the two groups form had at least one person who stood out. Then again, Brelev was different then the others. She had been in hibernation when she became ill and her immune system was already established as being hyperactive. This was not something she had brought up often, but it was the reason she had never been able to have childern of her own. She needed to sit down with Cadet Nack and Salek to sort things out.
=A=Doctor Brelev to Doctor Salek, when you have a chance could you return to sickbay I'd like to run some things by you =A=
<Tag Salek>
As soon as Brelev ended the comm line the doors to sickbay open and Admiral Drew enterd. He was walking stiffly, but seemed to be making attemps to conceal this whether intentinally or otherwise.
"Hello Admiral, thanks for dropping by" Brelev greeted, pulling out her tricorder. "We're trying to piece things together and realised that this illness seems to have spread from the Ferengi vessel. Since you where on that vessel as well we decided to be proactive and call you in... Just as I thought, you are also experiancing elevated Beta-T cell levels. I'm going to need to run a few tests."

"I have one. If they have been stuck here longer, could they possible more advanced symptoms of the virus?" asked Fred.
The Romulan commander stared at the cadet. He sounded different some how. She looked at the Vulcan beside her. A brief barely noticeable flicker of emotion flickered across his(?) face. He nodded.
"Yes. And?" answered the Romulan.
"Could we isolate someone on there to see if there is anything interesting?"
"It would be advisable at the moment to find out what has happened over there," said the Vulcan, "But afterwards, yes we can."
Salek walked over to S'reena and wispered something in her ear. The only words the cadets heard were "......e must be careful of him......looks as though he is not telling us something which mig......."
The other cadets wisely didn't say anything. Fred had his hand to his forehead and a slight cringe of pain flew passed on his face but only one cadet noticed.

After S'reena used the honey reference as they were walking towards the conference room, Salek expressed his opinion of the reference in that particular moment.
"I fail to see the logic of using a product created by insects in correlation with me", Salek said
After S'reena smiled at his response the two of them entered the conference room and a few moments after that the meeting had begun. After S'reena laid out her plans for the away mission and ask the usual question, which was more a formality then a question to which no one expected a response, one cadet obviously deemed it fitting to demonstrate his arrogance and insubordination towards senior officers. Salek was glad, well as glad as a Vulcan can be, that S'reena did not jump at the cadet’s throat. But after several more comments implicating that he seems to know what is right and what should be done, Salek decided to say something.
"Now Cadet Doppelpunkt, I have some questions for you.", Salek said, "On what do you base the assumption that the crew of the Yorktown is suffering from a disease?", he asked
"There have be no indications towards the conclusion that what they are experiencing is anything more than technical problems which are a result from the failure of main power.", Salek said
"Secondly... your previous comment about Vulcan’s and Romulans getting a virus... It would be logical to verify your data before speaking of things you can not support with evidence. There are no Vulcan’s suffering from the virus, as you call it, even tough we still can not determine what exactly is the disease that the senior crew of this ship is suffering from. Therefore you have made another accusation without proper evidence to substantiate your claim.", Salek said
"But seeing you seem to be suffering from excess of energy, it is only logical for me to help you deal with the excess of it. You will collect all the equipment all the member of the away team require for this mission and deliver it to the transporter room in exactly half an hour", Salek said
"I believe this task will be sufficiently challenging for your Mr. Doppelpunkt", Salek said as everyone in the room except Doppelpunkt and Salek laughed
--After the meeting--
When the meeting was finally finished, Salek excused himself from S'reena and proceeded down to sickbay. After finally reaching his destination, Salek found Dr. Brelev running tests on Admiral Drew.
"You requested my presence Doctor", Salek said as he approached them

Crystal was starting to get bored of sickbay. Actually, she had been bored for quite a while, but it was starting to get absolutely unbearable. Commander Hope had checked herself out a little bit ago, but Crystal thought she could try to avoid annoying at least some of her fellow senior staff members. Unfortunately the CMO, even if it wasn't intentional, was annoying Crystal quite a lot just by making her stay here.
Crystal noticed that the Denobulan CMO and Ferengi cadet were conferring together. Then they immediately joined the Admiral when he entered. “Commander?” Crystal said, finding it actually considerably less difficult to walk than she had thought it would be. “Cadet?” she then said, trying to get either of their attention. They both seemed a little preoccupied. Crystal would be willing to wait, but things seemed to keep coming up.
“Commander Brelev?” Crystal repeated. “Is it possible that I might be able to leave sickbay?” Brelev glanced at Crystal, with a look that Crystal immediately interpreted as being critical, though it might not have been. Crystal raised her hands, suddenly defensive. “Or I can stay, but if so I'd like to have something I can do to help somehow.”

Kiara had been in one of the jefferie tubes attempting to replace some parts to attempt getting warp drive running when she was startled by the chirp of her commbadge she managed to bump her head
*damn it* she said as she raised up hitting her head *they make these tubes way to small for human beings* she said to noone in particule she listened to the call for all Cadets to report to the briefing room. she sighed and beginning climbing out, most of the engineers were busy working on things, she spoke to Cmdr Smith briefly and then made her way out of engineering and to the turbolift
*Bridge* she cursed when the turbolift suddenly came to a halt *what now* she said outloud, she tapped her commbadge
=/\=Cadet Sienta to Engineering=/\=
=/\=Engineering here came a reply=/\=
=/\= There seems to be a problem with the turbolift, i'm stuck on deck 3 =/\=
=/\=* give us a moment and will get it fixxed*, she heard some orders given and then her a sudden reply, *there you should be moving again, seems one of the cells went out*=/\=
=/\= Thanks, Cadet Sienta Out =/\=
She was running late for the meeting, she walked in to notice everyone already present and that the Cmdr had already begin talking, she queitly slipped into her seat and listened to the orders before finally speaking up when the Cmdr asked if anyone had any questions.
*What will be Engineerings primary mission?* She questioned.

Brelev looked Crystal over, she had allowed S'reena to leave so technically she should not make Crystal stay. That said no matter how much an officer promised to "take i easy" they rarely did. "Well your situation is stable and we are not certain where to procede from here. You will need to return on the hour so we can check your status and re-administer any medication, but I see no reason other then that to keep you here. My only concern is that the illness may spread, however steps have been taken to limit that possibilty. You may go, but you must not push yourself and return if you feel any changes whatsoever in your condition. I can assure you that the medical team will be keeping tabs on you and the other ill personal."
<Tag Crystal>
As Crystal exited Salek enterd, he gave the vacating Navigations officer a quizical look before approching Brelev. "You requested my presence?"
"Yes, Nack and I have been trying to determine why the illness is manifesting it'self differently in the two patient groups. Since sickbay currently is under your control and you are the ships temperary CMO I felt my idea should go through you. I'd like to run a test, or ratherI'd like Nack to run a test. If we could take in infected organism, not a crewmember, I have several terran slugs in my office that would do, and submit it to several tests we should be able to determine the trigger. " Brelev explained. "Unless you have a better idea." She had only just come up with this experiment and had not yet passed in by Nack.

"We still do not know how exactly this infection works, nor how it is spread, nor how is it possible that only those who were here during that last mission got infected", Salek said, "Therefore by all means proceed with the test, however I would take into account the possible need to weaken the immune system of the slugs in case you it proves to be impossible to infect them in their current state. I believe we have not discarded the possibility of some form of an immunodeficiency as the cause that only certain people are infected.", he said
"However cadet Nack will not be able to perform this test now, as he is scheduled to depart on a away mission to the USS Yorktown. Therefore you can keep working and do the test yourself or if you deem that waiting for him to return is acceptable... you can wait. But I would suggest you begin the test yourself as we can not postpone finding a possible cure for the crew much longer. There is only a limited amount of time we can deal with this problem by dealing with the symptoms but logic states that eventually the medications will no longer be able to counteract the symptoms.", Salek finished

*What will be Engineerings primary mission?* She questioned.
S'reena smiled encouragingly at the engineering cadet. "I am glad you asked cadet Sienta," she answered, "for now, you and Beu-Pas are going to join me in an investigation to figure out what happened to the Yorktown. And we will start in engineering to see if the initial problem lies there. Salek and his team will start on the bridge."
*somewhat later* (cadets feel free to backpost)
S'reena, Salen and the cadets stood in the transporterroom, preparing to beam over to te Yorktown. "Remember, your own safety comes first. Don't resort to heroics. We're here to find out what happened to this ship and her crew. Let's go!"
They stepped onto the pad and the transporter chief initiated the transport. The teams materialized on the severely damaged ship and parted ways. S'reena took Beu-Pas and Sienta to engineering, while Salek, Ardawen, Nack and Doppelpunkt were headed for the bridge.
(cadets, first impressions of yorktown please...feel free to come up with a few good impressions....what are you seeing? extend to damage? etc?)

(About an hour before-hand in sickbay:). Fred walked into sickbay, holding his hands to his head. "I believe he needs assistance!" said Beu-Pas*, who was having a check up. Two nurses ran to him but they were shrugged off. "I'm here for my hypospray refills." He looked at the doctors faces. "And you are?" asked a senior nurse. "I'm Fred. Frederick Doppelpunkt." "We received you medical file, but it's data was corrupted." "Give me whatever was in here!" One of the junior nurses ran off and refilled the capsules that Fred was holding. On her return Fred grabbed the spray and put it to his neck. (On the Yorktown. As soon as he saw the carnage, Fred said, "Bloody hell! She looks like she flew into a brick wall!" OOC: Commander Hope's briefing.
Nack was busy checking on Methos. Crystal had hopped out of her bed, clearly bored, but at the same time not angry. Brelev dismissed her. That is when Nack realized that Commander Hope had left. *sigh* This job doesn't get any easier.
Just when Nack was about to track her down, her voice came over the com-badge.
=/\= All cadets report to the briefing room. All instructors, stay where you are. =/\=
Brelev shrugged when Nack looked at him, as if to say "You better go see what she wants."
Nack made his way to the turbolift, "still broken", he muttered to himself when the doors failed to open. He found the other turbolift he used earlier, and walked to the briefing room, exhausted.
The Commander gave her speech about going to the Yorktown. Nack had a few questions, but Hope's reaction to Cadet Doklepup... Dolpo... *sighs* Fred, made Nack reluctant to ask. It was only after Cadet Sienta's answer was received smoothly that Nack decided to speak.
"How long until we leave, Sir?" S'reena seemed to cringe when Nack started talking. After being told what to do by one Cadet, she wasn't about to have another Cadet tell her she needed to be back in the sickbay. S'reena's mood turned to pleasant as quickly as Nack's question was asked.
"Two hours, Cadet."
"Permission to be dismissed. I wish to continue helping Dr. Brelev until we leave. We are trying to determine that this, this, " Nack looked back and forth from Fred and Salek while he desperately tried to avoid the word virus... "phenomena", phew, "will not be transmitted via interpersonal contact so we don't put anyone on the Yorktown at risk." he finished, wiping the sweat from his lobes.
Fred was wiping the sweat from his brow also. He had every reason to be stressed. Nack had warned him of the Commander, and he had not ceded that warning. At least this made Nack look like the bigger person... figuratively speaking of course.
"I suggest you get some rest before this mission, Cadet. Your concerns are noted, but Dr. Brelev is more than capable." Salek said before Commander Hope could respond.
"You are dismissed Cadet." S'reena said, as she continued to answer questions.
Nack left without contest. He made his way back to his room, thankful to have a little rest.
=/\= Computer, lights out. =/\= The lights turn off. =/\= Wake me in 2 hours =/\=. The computer made a noise signifying it recognized the command, and Nack quickly fell asleep.

"So what did you think of the transporter?" Sienta asked Beu-Pas as they both scanned the Yorktown's engineering section for damage to repair.
"What should I think of it?"
"Those were'd highly used in your day, they were new technology back in the 22th century. What did you think of the experience?"
"It is a sound technology. One that over time has proved it's self reliable. Though not being as reliable in the 22th century. It will be odd getting used to main travel being by shuttlepod for short trips. Once I get back to my own time."
Sienta's tircorder suddenly started beeping over an access panel, locked snugly in it's place to the wall. "Beu-Pas?"
Beu-Pas didn't even have to know the full question Sienta was asking. After having just been asked her name, Beu-Pas handed Sienta the tool she knew the other cadet wanted to take care of the job at hand. As Beu-Pas reached for the tool, she moved around her tricorder. Not thinking much about the state of it's direction.
Tricorder now pointed at a dead bio-neural gel pack, some one had left laying on the floor. Now it was Beu-Pas'es tricorder that started beeping away.
Beu-Pas after handing Sienta the tool. Looked at the dead bio-neural gel pack, it was dark and plewtred in color. "Sienta, are the bio-neural gel packs supposed to look this way? I'm not used to working with them."
Sienta finished what she was working at and turned her attention at what Beu-Pas was indicating. "No, I've never seen one look that way." Pausing a moment, then bending down to pick it up, and doing so. "It looks like it could be infected with some thing."
"What could infect a gel-pack like that?"
"Some thing in the Toko belt, maybe some kind of organism. That can move through a ship's hull -." Standing up, "S'reena, there's some thing here I think you should look at."

OOC: Beaming to the Yorktown
=/\= Specified time has elapsed. =/\= The computer barked.
It had already been two hours. Nack splashed some water on his face. He sharpened his teeth, and hurried his way to the transport room.
Nack was the last one there, but everyone was busy checking their away gear to notice. Cadet Fred (Nack gave up on his surname) had all the medical supplies, and not to thrilled to have had the job, handed Nack a med-kit.
Everyone seemed ready. The transport engineer beamed everyone out.
The first thing Nack heard as he was materializing was Fred yelling, "Bloody hell! She looks like she flew into a brick wall!"
Nack looked around, saw a few overturned chairs, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Nack liked Fred's touch for the dramatics, but Salek seemed less than amused as he unarmed his phaser he had pulled out during the cadet's outcry. Nack wondered if his own lack of reaction was because of good intuition, or bad reflexes.
The USS Yorktown was an Intrepid Class ship, old for its class, and her age showed. The bridge was refitted and modernized. Aside from the chairs being knocked off their rocker, and some lights on the engineering console blinking, there was nothing unusual.
Fred seemed to disagree. "What could have ripped these chairs out of position?"
"Perhaps a quick stop out of warp, similar to the one we had? I think we better look for any signs of life."
<tag Fred>
Nack walked over to the engineering console on the bridge, but each sequence of inputs only generated an error response.
=/\= Nack to Engineering. We need to have the ability to run a scan on the ship to see if their are life signs. The Hanson's sensors cannot penetrate the ionic storms of the Toko Belt, so we are going to have to get the Yorktown's internal sensors to work =/\=
<tag Kiara and/or Beu-Pas>
=/\= Thank you. Cadet Nack out =/\=
Nack made his way to the Captain's ready-room.
"Maybe we can find some answers in here?"
<tag Salek>
"Well, Commander, if we shouldn't go in there yet, then I think we need to be doing something until we have a patient to take care of. How about you, Fred, what do you suggest then?"
<tag Fred>
Salek seemed to agree with Nack's reasoning. What else was there to do? Fred's suggestion didn't seem too outrageous, so it would have to do.
"Lead the way." Nack said cheerfully to Fred. Salek's lack of expressed enthusiasm was expected as he stood while the two cadets walked past.

"No. I don't think they were." said Fred. "Some of the bolts look as though they were removed with a tool."
"We could go to the E.M.H. console in the conference room. The one in here is a bit un-useable."
They went to the conference room, and stopped at the door. Nack tryied to open it, but, as usuall with times like this, the door was jammed.
