Hannah had just finish the lamb dinner and was about to get up to get some desert as she was still hungry when Noah informed them that they were needed in engineering. Hannah stood up and was about to make there way back to engineering when Noah told them to stand on the back of his wheel chair.
Hannah did as she was told even though she was curious why. A second later Noah pressed a button on his wheel chair. Hannah arrived engineering a few moments later surprised about being beamed in. She was ordered as soon as she arrived to reroute all non-essential power. Hannah moved over to a nearby station and began her job.
She contacted ops to inform them to inform them what was going on and to give her a shout if they needed any extra power. Hannah started re-routing from replicators, sonic showers and all other reactional object that drew power. Then she focused on lighting.
“Computer shut down all lighting on all non-essential corridors and an area not in use and reduce all other lighting to emergency lights,” she ordered the computer and the lights dimmed in engineering.
Then she focused on shutting down turbolifts and transporters and transferring that power to the warp-drive.

While on her way to sickbay, assisted by one of the bridge regular crewmembers, S'reena found it increasingly hard to breathe. She felt as though her lungs were burning and she had to work extra hard to get oxygen into her system. "Computer, is something wrong with the ship's ventilation systems?" she querried.
=^=negative=^=
"What about climate control?" she continue, as she rubbed her freezing cold hands together, while the crewman supported her.
=^= Climate control is online, but reduced by three degrees Centigrade =^=
"What!" the Romulan exclaimed, as she finally staggered sickbay, gasping for breath. She gave the crewman a grateful smile as he assisted her to a biobed, and wrapped a blanket tightly around her body. "Where's Michael?" she then asked, as she allowed the crewman to rub her down. She was cold, even though the back of her uniform was soaking wet, and she was gasping for breath.
"Don't know ma'am, don't see him around. Perhaps he's home?"
S'reena shook her head, then waved the crewman off. "Find Black," she gasped painfully.
"Yes ma'am," the crewman nodded, and scurried off to find the CMO. "Sir, first officer's in respiratory distress," he reported, "got her here as soon as possible, wasn't easy."

"Engineering to Sickbay. I need you to shut down everything except what you need for basic operation," came Commander Bates' voice.
"Acknowledged," Jason said. "Shut off everything that's not currently being used," he called throughout Sickbay. "Apparently Engineering needs more power."
He went around, and started deactivating unused biobeds. His staff shut down scanners and other equipment, and Rachel lowered the light level slightly.
He went over to the Lab side to shut down what equipment he could. A few minutes later, he heard "Find Black," come from across Sickbay. He turned to see a shivering, gasping Commander Hope. An Ensign approached him.
"Sir, first officer's in respiratory distress," he reported, "got her here as soon as possible, wasn't easy."
"Thank you, Ensign," he said, and headed over, and turned on her biobed. "Sorry about the appearance. Commander Bates requested it to save power." He pulled out a tricorder and scanned her. "Hmmm....you're showing the beginnings of hypoxia. That shouldn't be happening unless..."
He scanned the air. "Probably because the oxygen's been reduced by 10%. Computer, are environmental systems functioning properly?"
"Affirmative, but oxygen has been reduced by 10%."
"On who's order?" he asked, knowing the authority that took.
"Commander Noah Bates."
Seemed the Chief Engineer was taking a bit of drastic steps to reduce power. "Computer, restore oxygen levels, Medical override-"
"Fix...the temperature...too," S'reena gasped.
He nodded. "Medical override. Authorization Black, Alpha Nine Red. Raise ambient temperature in Sickbay by 5 degrees," he said, having noted the temperature difference himself.

“You may very well be right Cadet,” Drew said over his shoulder has he heard Tryon’s muttered comment, “proceed with Mr. Grayson’s suggestion, lets see if we can’t put a stop to this.”
“Yes sir,” Tryon answered, somewhat more eagerly than Drew would have liked. Like most Tactical officers, it seemed Tryon had a preference for action over anything else.
Turning his attention to his side console, Drew watched the new reports that were coming in from main Engineering. Power, it seemed was being diverted from everywhere to give the Hanson the steam it needed.
“Helm, as soon as we have warp speed, get us out of here,” Drew ordered, “and don’t stop until we reach Starbase Conqueror.”
Perhaps it was the action that was taking place on the bridge, or the fact that the Hanson was now moving away from the vortex at increasing speeds, but to Drew it felt like with every second, he was getting younger.
“Hopefully, the effects of whatever this thing was are wearing off,” he muttered to himself, as he keyed in commands to his console to bring up another report as an idea occurred to him.
“Mr. Tryon, Mr. Grayson” he called out over his shoulder, “is there anyway we can close this rift before we leave?”

John was helping Cadet Whillis man the helm. With all the reduced power, they were having to imput almost all steps manually. The reduced power was causing them to shorten the range of the deflector and lessen the affects of the inertial dampeners resulting in a bumpy ride. The read out on the helm registered that warp 2 was available.
"Cadet, engage warp drive at warp 1.5 ... I will help maintain the warp field ... you worry about the deflectors. Set the dampeners to auto ... we will just have to deal with the ride" Graxen instructed the Cadet.
<Whillis>
The ship started to vibrate as Graxen adjusted the warp field. The speed readout read warp 1.2 "Commander Graxen to Engineering ... we need better control of the warp field ... is there anyway you can strengthen the boundary layer of the warp field ?? ... the ship is starting to vibrate."
<TAG Engineering>
"Yes," Graxen said, "That is helping .... however the helm is not responding [warp] factor to factor ... it is off by .3 ... we are getting power loss somewhere ..."
<TAG Engineering>
The ship slowly made it to 1.5, however the danger of causing some-type of warp phenomenon by having imbalanced engines was to great. "Cadet, hold at warp 1.5" Turning to face Drew ...
"Captain ... we have warp 1.5 and we are holding for now ... however deflector power is down and the risk of pulling an object into our warp envelope is to great ... this looks like the best speed for now." Graxen informed Drew.

As Shelby Hannah and Commander Bates where eating Commander Bates got a Comm message from Engineering.Right after The Commander told them and they started to hurry to the mess hall doors.Just be for the cadets started to head for the door Commander Bates stopper them. "hold on I've got a faster way,"he noted to the cadets.He pulled out a PADD from his chair.He told the cadets to hold onto his chair.Then the cadets slowly put there hand on the chair wondering why exactly they where doing it.While the cadets where doing that the Commander was doing sumthing on his PADD."Alright, both of you hold on,"the commander said as he pressed a key on the PADD.
Just after that they appeared in Engineering.Then the cadet's realized what the Commander had done.After a little talking the Commander called over his Assistant and asked what's going on?
The Commander started talking to the cadet's and giving orders and the Commander noticed that they where still just standing there.Then he said "I want you both to focus on drawing power from the non-essentials; holodecks, weapons, everything."
After that Hannah went to a near station and began working.Shelby headed to another station and started working on all the sub systems that weren't already being worked on.As he was working he started to wonder why they where doing this exactly.Then as he was working he called out to the Commander.
Shelby: "Commander Bates,Why are we going to such extremes to get power?"
<Bates>
After Commander Bates explained it to him he started working on it once again.Then Engineering go a com message from Commander Graxsen.After he reported his problems Shelby said he would help him.Shelby started working on the warp field and seen that it was out of tune for starters.He started tuning the boundary layer of the warp field and after a wile he started seeing improvements then he got a com message from Commander Graxen.
Graxen: "That is helping .... however the helm is not responding [warp] factor to factor ... it is off by .3 ... we are getting power loss somewhere ..."
Shelby answered Graxen short and quickly working extremely hard on the current problems.Shelby continued to work after a minute or maybe two he seen it go down to .2.He looked up for a sec and seen Hannah and Commander Bates working and then seen that he had managed to bring it down even more.After that I seen that we stopped at 1.5.
<Bates> <Who ever?>

IC: Commander S'reena yet again shot down Cadet Grayson's idea. *We need to damage them before we can flee. Can't she see that?!* Then Tyrron agreed with him that it could work, and that fight was necessary before flight. But the Commander ordered otherwise, so he continued with his other duties. Engineering sent him a message about needing all the power they could get, and to notify them if he needed more for something else. He acknowledged, and let them have what they needed. Though he did not like the lower in the temperature. But then, Admiral Drew spoke up, agreeing with Grayson and Tyrron about the weapons. Since Engineering had taken power from the weapons, Nick began looking for new places to take it from, notifying Engineering to not take any more power from weapons. He completely drained such things as replicators, water fixtures, other than those necessary, non-necessary sensors, communication arrays, computer programs, and everything he could squeeze power out of. He pumped it all into phasers, since they would need to be used first. He was about to speak to Tyrron when the Admiral asked them over his shoulder “Mr. Tryon, Mr. Grayson, is there anyway we can close this rift before we leave?”
"Give me a moment on that, Admiral." "Tyrron, aim for wherever you think is best, put the phasers at the finest beam you can manage, and blast them with all you can give them until a hole is blown in their shields. At the moment you stop, I will dump the power into torpedoes. Then you need to fire as many preprepared torpedoes as needed into the hole to disable them. Admiral Drew doesn't want them destroyed." <Tag Tyrron> He made his preparations, and waited for Tyrron to make his. "Admiral? We are ready to commence firing at your command. And in the meantime I am working on your answer to closing the rift." Then he sent a text message to Tyrron's console: Do you have any idea on how to close the rift? I'm going to do some research real quick while you think of an idea.Nick brought up information from all the scans of the vortex--black hole to be exact, and all previous similar cases in history. OOC: I'm gonna go research about this stuff and come back tomorrow with a possible solution. Unless of course one of you comes up with one first.

Tyrron prepared the phasers as Grayson asked and at the same time he tried to prepare the torpedoes the best he could. He tried to think too about what drew said to close the rift he tried to think of an solution to or an answer but it is pretty hard if you need to focus on your weapons like this. OKay phasers ready one moment, yes I can hit them on their front right again this part is already weakened because of my first few shots. Tyrron tried to focus the beam of the phasers the best he could in an couple of seconds he made an hole through the shield. "Grayson stay ready to convert the power as soon as I'm ready." Tyrron waited for the hole to become a little bigger he was also doing some minor damage to the hull of the enemy ship not enough to hurt them but enough to make them care. "Okay one moment one moment NOW!!!" Tyrron shouted and he started to aim the torpedoes as Grayson was converting the power. OC. I need to do some research too on closing that rift lol <tag Grayson, drew annybody>

"T-thank you," S'reena managed, as she continued to rub her ice-cold hands together, blowing on them in attempt to get them warmed up. "So cold," she complained, though soon she was starting to feel warmer. Yet she was still uncomfortable and she could see that the CMO knew she wasn't kidding about it either.
"That dratted engineer," she scowled, as she grimaced and lay back on the biobed. "Remind me to shoot him out of an airlock if he pulls that stunt again." She grinded her teeth together to keep back a surprised cry as she felt one of the foetuses kick her. "They're really at it today," she murmured to the CMO, "and is starting to obstruct me in performing my duty."
She cast a suddenly anxious look at Black. "They are all right, right? I mean, so close to the due date...I just feel something isn't right." She gripped Jason's arm tightly as she leaned on her other arm. "Please, tell me...I just feel something's wrong."
~~~~
S'reena waddled back onto the bridge, feeling no more relieved than when she had left. Nothing Black had said had convinced her that everything was all right, and she was starting to get really anxious and actually started to dread the moment she would go into labour.
She returned Drew's encouraging smile with a frown and a sour grimace. The Romulan first officer was in no mood for smiling. She walked up to Brandy and Tyrron. "What's going on?" she querried them both, as she pulled the blanket she had taken along tighter around her body. While sickbay's temperature had been raised, the bridge still felt eerily cold.
"They are all right, right? I mean, so close to the due date...I just feel something isn't right." S'reena gripped Jason's arm tightly as she leaned on her other arm. "Please, tell me...I just feel something's wrong."
Jason scanned the fetuses just to be sure. "There's nothing wrong with them. They're perfectly healthy. What you are feeling is maternal anxiety, which is perfectly normal."
"Can you be sure that there is nothing wrong?" she asked.
"There's a way I can be. Computer, run a fetal scan on Commander Hope," Jason said, looking up toward the ceiling a bit. "Hold still, Commander." Not an easy thing to do for a woman in her third trimester.
A few minutes later, the test results appeared on the screen. Jason checked them. "Just as I expected," he said, and turned back to S'reena. "They're fine, S'reena. You can return to the Bridge."
She waddled out of Sickbay, not seeming to be satisfied by his answer.
"Commander Bates,Why are we going to such extremes to get power?" Shelby asked him. "Because we need all the power we can muster in order to escape the black hole on our tail, Ensign. That requires a great deal of power, more than we normally pumped into the Engines," he explained. Shelby continued working on the Engines, and reported that the discrepancy had been corrected. "I'm glad to hear that, Cadet. Good work," Bates responded. "Graxen to Engineering, we need more power to the deflector!" came through the comm system. "Acknowledged," he said, and began scrutinizing the power distribution net for every millicochrane of energy they could spare, pumping it into the deflector. (OOC: I know Graxen didn't actually say that, but added it to give myself a little more to do )
Back-posting ...John was standing by as the ship at warp 1.5 ... the warp field was holding and the ship wasn't vibrating to much. The helm was sluggish however and if something had been pulled into the warp bubble during transition from sub-light speeds to warp then the helm wouldn't be able to respond quick enough. Graxen called to Engineering, "Graxen to Engineering, we need more power to the deflector!" That would be the ships only hope should an object be in its path. ~~~OC: there ... now I really did say it IC and Current ...The black hole was getting smaller on the view screen ... the ship was making progress away from the anomaly. However, the danger of the alien ship was still looming over the crew's head. The rift was a larger problem however, and the crew was struggling to find an answer. Graxen turned and faced Drew, "Sir, I have an idea that involves Negative Mass ..." Drew sat up in his chair, "I'm listing Commander." Before Graxen continued he called Commander Bates, "Commander listen to this and check my math ... so-to-speak" <listen up Engineering ... and Bates> "Well ... in theory we could use the warp field coils to generate a subspace field whose properties could attract gravitons in such a way that it would create a mini-black hole-effect; drawing light. The attracted gravitons would cause a phase shift in the natural gravitational field. All we would need then is ... a warp capable torpedo to simply drop in the path of the rift. The warp torpedo's coils would maintain the field long enough so the rift will run into it." Drew responded, "... and Commander ... what would that do?" Graxen continued, "The subspace displacement field would catastrophically expand the space in front of the rift and collapse the space behind it ... we will know if it works if all that is left are some tachyon particles. Basically we would create a Negative Mass Warp Drive in reverse." Graxen sighed at the finishing of his suggestion waiting for Drew and the Chief Engineer to respond. <Drew ... Bates>
IC: Tyrron began firing the phasers and told Cadet Grayson to stand by to transfer energy into the torpedoes. Tyrron began counting down to the moment... "Okay one moment one moment NOW!!!" Grayson immedietely dumped the power into torpedoes, all of it, allowing Tyrron to use the torpedoes as much as he needed. But, before Tyrron could launch the torpedoes, Commander S'reena came back and began speaking to Cadets Tyrron and Brandy. *Not again.* Nick made sure to avert his eyes as he rolled them. While he waited for that to play out, he continued with his standard duties. Helm requested that Engineering give them more power for the deflectors. So Nick kept an eye on that transfer, making sure it went smoothly, making super-slight adjustments where necessary. Then he heard the Helm Instructor began speaking about Negative Mass. Then something clicked in his mind. Before anyone could respond to Commander Graxen's theory, Nick cut in, nervousness and eagerness heavy in his voice. "Sirs, I think we've overlooked something: the aging. How could a standard black hole cause aging like that? Technically, the act of being drawn into the hole at high speeds would actually slow time down, causing aging to happen at a slower rate." He paused to let that sink in. "I think we have something other than a black hole." He brought up some information on his screen, to doublecheck himself. "Have any of you heard of anti-time?" He could see recognition on a few faces, but cut off any replies. "Basically, it reverses aging, and therefore would make us all younger. However, that didn't happen: we began to get older. Which means we are dealing with some sort of time accelerating effect, unlike any I've heard of before." He glanced at his screen real quick. "The Enterprise D, under Captain Jean Luc Pircard's command, encountered an anti-time rift, and stopped it by entering the rift itself and creating a static warp-shell around it, thus collapsing it and returning things to normal. I'm not sure if the static warpshell would work with an accelerated time rift. But I think it is our best shot." *I hope Commander Graxen doesn't think I'm a bit pretensious in shooting down his idea.* "So, I say instead we either take the ship back into the rift, or" he said at the look of shock on people's faces, "use a warp capable torpedoe or even one of the ship's small warp capable vessels. Since we have more advanced technology then they did, even if it was not too long ago, one of our smaller craft should be able to handle it, since the rift has yet to grow too large. And it is growing. By my calculations, it is growning at the rate of a kilometer a second, and its effects are increasing geometrically ." He swallowed and reluctantly continued, "However, part of me wonders if it could be handled automatically, or if someone would have to be aboard the shuttle..."
OOC:
I hope I'm not out of line to put in that last part. If we are not allowing anyone to die, we could still have someone be aboard the shuttle, but somehow teleport him out in time. I dunno. Or we could just find a way to do it automatically. Or even Commander Graxen is right. After all, I'm merely a cadet.
ooc: sorry been having dificulty with finding time to post lately.
IC:
Jack listen and imputed the comands as he was given them and was relieved to have Commader Graxen help him out. He kept an eye on everything at once, which suprised Jack that he could be that attantive. Alot of the systems were on manual and it made it hard to keep up, but thanks to Graxen they were doind ok. The helm was slugish to the commands that was entered and at first the ship was having trouble getting to the indicated warp factor. Graxen relayed request to engineering and each time he said something that problem was fixed quite quickly. Jack was amazed at how fast the engineers were working.
Sudenly Jack heard Graxen start talking about something woth a warp torpedoe and a lot of stuff that seemed to fly over Jack's head, but he filed it away in his brain for looking up later. The parts that he did understand did seem to make since, and Jack did understand a good chunk of it. Then Nick put in his word and Jack had to think for a minute.
He turned in his seat and looked at Nick. "Nick we Have an anomoly out there as well. That is creating the aging effects, the Black hole is more recent, at least I think it is," Jack felt nervouse speaking out like that, and correcting someone but he was sure he was right. He turned back to his station and began to continue his work.
"Commander listen to this and check my math ... so-to-speak" came Graxen's voice over the comm.
Knowing this always meant a complicated technical idea, Bates grabbed a PADD. He started making notes as Graxen started talking, and kept going after Graxen finished. The Bridge could probably hear the beeping of the PADD as he wrote rapidly. A warp torpedo....
"His idea is sound, Admiral," Bates said, after a minute or so of silence. "Such an idea should rocket us to about Warp 4, much better than what we're doing right now. I don't think we actually have any warp-capable torpedoes in our arsenal, but doesn't mean I can't make one. We already combined equipment from two different probes, and we could use a similar idea here. We could take the warhead of a torpedo and transplant it into a Class 5 probe."
Nick considered Cadet Whillis' comments for a moment, also overhearing Commander Bate's approval of Commander Graxen's idea. *Well, they are much smarter than I...I'll have to make sure to study more carefully next time.*
He did have one more concern, however: "But will this 'Negative Mass Warp Drive in Reverse' close both the black hole and the anomoly, or will they both need something else? Possibly, this anomoly is the accelerated time thing, but you guys seem to know what you are talking about. I don't even know what negative mass is!"
Before he embarassed himself further he turned back to his panel, juggling power and messages and scans around each other, hoping and praying all would turn out right.
ooc: I'm jumping things ahead...you guys can backpost on this negative warp stuff......we need to get back to SBC or you guys'll never graduate;)
ic: S'reena had no idea what negative mass warp was either, but she believed the professionals on their word, engineering technobabble generally went beyond her. Her gaze crossed with Drew's and she saw him nod. "Make it work gentlemen!" she told the respective officers, "and someone get that temperature fixed!"
The Romulan shivered visibly, even with the blanket she was still reasonably cold. She smiled gratefully as Tyrron offered her his seat, and she took him up on the offer. "Always the gentleman eh cadet?" she whispered at him, accepting his assistance in sitting down. The seat was far from comfortable, but it was more comfortable than remaining standing. She watched over the Klingon's shoulder as he co-ordinated with Grayson, engineering and navigation.
<you guys can enter the results here>
Once their work was done, S'reena sighed; it had worked to some extend and the Hanson leapt to warp 4. "Direct course for Conqueror Mister Whillis!" S'reena ordered, "no diversons this time. Mister Grayson, ETA to Conqueror?"
<add eta Mr Grayson...any number'll do>
~~~
Several hours later, Starbase Conqueror finally appeared on short range scanners, and S'reena sighed with relief. She could finally take some leave and prepare for the birth of her children, something she had divided feelings on. Since the deliveries of both Kahlan and Yarna hadn't been the easiest sort, the Romulan was starting to get really anxious about it, and she dreaded going into labour. yet she was looking forward to finally holding her sons and daughter in her arms.
<take it away folks.....start SBC approach!>

Hannah and Shelby had transferred all the power they could find into the warp nacelles but they still couldn’t reach any higher than warp 1.5. Hannah thought about anyway they could use the power more effectively or get any more power from to improve the warp field, but came up with nothing.
Noah moved over to the two off them and explained Graxen’s idea to them about the warp-capable probe. Hannah listened intensively and after a few moments of Noah explanation it all seemed to click in her mind. Ideas ran though her mind of how it could be done.
“Cadet Stevenson you work with tactical to remove the warhead, while Cadet Shelby helps me get the probe ready,” he ordered and they both nodded in response.
All three of them headed out of engineering and into the nearby turbolift. Shelby and Noah were the first ones of the turbolift and she watched them walk down the corridor into a room before the turbolift door shut again and the turbolift moved again towards her destination.
<Shelby and Noah>
A few moments later she entered the torpedo room where Tyroon and Soaringstar were already waiting for her. She explained her orders to them and they began work.
<Tyroon and Soaringstar>
----------------------------An hour later------------------------------------------
Hannah and the rest of the team that had just finished working on the probe, watched as it was launched in the vortex. Hannah stomach was in knots as she observed hoping that this would work after what had happened to the last probe.
The probe entered into the mini black hole that had just been created by the re-modulated warp field. They watched as the two black holes merged into each other and a kind off shock wave was sent out. Hannah felt the ship being sent into warp. There was a cheer from all the officers in the room and a large smile across Hannah’s face it had worked.
As they were finally free of the vortex, Hannah and Shelby were sent back off duty with the other officers. The group headed to the messhall to celebrate the success of the probe.
“What does everyone want to drink?” she asked, as she stood next to the replicator ready to order all the drinks. She thought celebrating with the crew about the success of their probe for a short while and then would head to bed. She could sleep on the journey back to the starbase, which would take several hours.

Cadet Grayson worked hard at his station throughout the operation, wanting sleep, but forcing the thought out of his mind. Time eventually came for the torpedo to be launched. Everyone waited in anticipation, hoping it would work. *Come on...come on...*
The probe entered into the mini black hole that had just been created by the re-modulated warp field. They watched as the two black holes merged into each other and a kind off shock wave was sent out.
Among the bridgecrew, only the cadets cheered, as the officers were tired or otherwise occupied. It was the cadet's first time at cheating death aboard a Starfleet vessel, and it filled them with excitment and pride at what they had done.
Once their work was done, S'reena ordered, "Direct course for Conqueror Mister Whillis! "No diversions this time" Grayson transferred power to allow this to happen, and then S'reena asked Nick, "Mister Grayson, ETA to Conqueror?"
"Four hours, Commander."
Nick then settled into routine, almost unable to wait for the ship to dock.

"Mr Whillis, engage all moorings," S'reena ordered, as the navigations cadet eased the Hanson into dock. "Hanson to Conqueror flight control, requesting permission to dock."
"USS Hanson this is Flight Control, you have permission to dock. We assume you are going to manually dock, giving the cadet at the helm some practice?"
"Affirmative Flight Control," S'reena replied.
"The ship is yours," Flight control replied, "we will intervene if something goes awry."
"Acknowledged," S'reena replied, "Mr Whillis, the ship is yours."
The Romulan leaned back in her seat and gave the pillow in her back a good punch. Together with Drew, she watched as the navigations cadet conferred with OPS and guided the ship into dock. There was a small bump as he slightly misjudged speed and distance, but all in all it was a clean dock.
"Welcome home USS Hanson," announced Flight Control.
<this ends it I suppose...I'll save it up to here>
