Arakkis too, jumped to his feet upon hearing the admiral's call. "Soaringstar and Brandy, meet me on the bridge!" Arakkis yelled after tapping his combadge. "Tyrron with me!"
He tapped Joan on the shoulder. "Will you be all right ma'am?"
<Joan>
With the Klingon cadet on his heels, Jarod sped to the bridge, where he was met with Soaringstar and Brandy; the latter having only just joined team two for the tour in time. "Well it seems that with the tour cut short, we're going to give you a crash course in tactical systems," he announced, as the four of them walked up to the tactical station. "Ms Soaringstar, please tell me what you see here," he told the only female security/marine cadet as he pointed at the targeting systems of the Hanson.
"Tyrron, tell me what you know of the armoury of an Intrepid class vessel after Soaringstar is done," he instructed the Klingon cadet, and then turned to Brandy. "Brandy, please tell me what you know of the defensive systems of an Intrepid class vessel.

Calvin and the other cadets were in the Medical Bay when they over heard the situation with Commander McCormick. Dr. Black had to leave, but Commander Bates continued to give the tour of Medical Bay with the help of the assistant.
As Calvin listened intently he and the other officers there with him heard the Commanding Officers voice.
“Admiral Drew to all hands,” Drew said, activating the comm system, “report to your stations, we are going to be departing from the base. I repeat, report to your stations.”
Everyone started to make there way to the nearest turbolift. Calvin wondered if Commander McCormick was going to be ok, and if she was going to make it to the operations console. Never the less Calvin headed to the bridge.
Once on the Bridge he did not see his instructor yet and wasn't 100 percent for sure if she was ok, but he knew he could do some work. He looked over the left console that had messages on it. Then he ran a quick scan on the middle screen to make sure all power levels were suffiecient.
"Operations ready sir." He announced to the command staff on the bridge.

“Admiral Drew to all hands,” Drew said, activating the comm system, “report to your stations, we are going to be departing from the base. I repeat, report to your stations.” John responded to the call and made his way to the bridge. As the doors open onto the bridge he saw his nav cadet already readying the flight console. John smiled and walked to the CONN. "Glad to see your already here Cadet ... take the seat." The young Cadet looked back at John with a bit of a surprised expression. John smiled back at the Cadet, "yes ... this is all you Cadet ... don't worry ... I'm going to be seated right behind you." John took the seat behind the CONN. This was an added seat that wasn't on most of the star ships of this class but, because this was an training ship it was added for the instructors. "Send a call to the star base for our request to depart. Call all gantries to be cleared and secured ... disconnect your umbilicals and fire up the thruster system ... bring up the internal dampeners ... ready your course to Star base 28." John reached up to place his hand on the Cadets shoulder, "you know the steps ... don't get in a hurry ... you can do this." John sat back in his chair now with is PaDD that was patched into the flight control system ... if anything went wrong, John could control the flight systems from there. John looked back at the Captain and the First Officer and nodded his head ... the nod back from the Captain signaled that all was ready. Turning back to-wards Cadet Whillis John said, " OK ... take her out." John's Betazed abilities were telling him that Cadet Whillis was feeling a bit nervous ... but there was also a feeling of confidence as well. John was also feeling anticipation from the whole crew ... the unknown always brought these feelings. What was new to John was the difference of the feelings from the instructors and the cadets. It felt to John that he was on two ships at the same time the two feelings were so different. He guessed he would have to get used to this new ... separation ... between the two.

Soaringstar looked at the tactical display and confidently replied, "This is the tactical display which shows our weapons. We have quantum and photon torpedos and full phasers."
She looked at Arakkis to make sure that was correct and then looked at Tyrron for his answer.
"Who knows," she thought, "I might get to see some action."

"Do we have an armory then? I couldn't find it on this ship and on the map. But if we have on, it should contain some phasers and laser pistols maybe a couple of grenade's I'm not so sure about the grenade's because this is only a training vessel."
Tyrron looked a little afraid, hoping that he gave the right answer.
"Wait there are also weapons on the outside of the ship we got like 15 phaser across the whole ship 4 torpedo tubes 2 in the front and two in the back and we have like 50 torpedo's in storage. Sometimes they are also called armory."

"Glad to see your already here Cadet ... take the seat." Jack looked back a little suprised that he was still going to fly, and maybe slightly nervouse, "yes ... this is all you Cadet ... don't worry ... I'm going to be seated right behind you." With that Commander Graxon took his seat behind the CONN. Jack took his seat and finished bringing the systems from standby to ready.
"Send a call to the star base for our request to depart. Call all gantries to be cleared and secured ... disconnect your umbilicals and fire up the thruster system ... bring up the internal dampeners ... ready your course to Star base 28." Jack felt a hand being placed on his shoulder and it seemed to help him feel more confident, "you know the steps ... don't get in a hurry ... you can do this." Jack sent the message to the stations ops requesting clearance and sent the message to clear the gantries and disconect the umbilicals. as he waited for the clear signal he brought what few systems where left online. As he did all this he thought of Shelby who he had just meet and imagined him running around engineering bringing the ships other systems online.
A beeping issued from his console brought his attention to the message appearing on his display screen, All Gantries and umbilicles clear. Space doors opening, you're cleared to the outer marker.
He heard Graxon give the order to depart and powered up the ships thrusters. "Aye Sir. Leaving space dock." He pulled the ship from it's berth and turned towards the Main doors. ~Ha, just like flying out of a shuttle bay, well a little more slugish in the turns than a shuttle,~ he thought this as he competed the turn and used the deflectors to move a small worker bee that had been passing infront of the ship out of the way.
As they passed through the doors Jack set the course for Starbase 28, and increased speed to te outer marker. He kept his eyes focused on his sensor display as a lot of vehicles were entering, leaving, and orbiting the station. ~Wow, its a little crowded out here.~ He thought it was ironic that space would be so crowded. He glanced around the bridge and saw everyone was quetly going about there buisiness, but looking at the ops station he was a little suprised to see that Cadet Capps was there alone. He looked back at the Admiral and Commander and reported, "We have cleared space dock and are almost to the outer marker sir. I have layed in course to Starbase 28 and only need the speed and order to get underway sir." Jack turned back and focused on his navigation again. After piloting through the heavy trafic he felt more comfortable with the ship. It's manueverability was almost like a small craft that to jack it seemed a perfect transition from shuttle to starship.
OOC: I hope that was good enough, first post while actually flying.

John was sitting behind the Cadet as he left space dock ... he was doing just fine John thought but then he saw the Cadet use the deflector shields to move a worker bee shuttle from the path of the Hanson. John couldn't react fast enough to cancel that action. The Cadet was already out and into a flight pattern around the outer marker. John took his PaDD and hit the override to the flight control panel. John set the ship in an orbit around the station. "Cadet, you did just fine ... one of the best disembark that I have seen. However, you do not clear space traffic in or out of dock with the deflector shields ... we need to contact the base and ask if the pilot in the worker bee shuttle was injured." John contacted the star base, "Hanson to base ops, requesting information of pilot in worker bee shuttle alpha-two" "Base to Hanson, crewman is a bit shook up, but is reporting that everything is OK ... base out." John looked up at the Cadet, winked, and returned flight controls to the Cadet. "Cadet, we may need to go and spend some time in simulations on handling space traffic ... but for now ... let's set speed to star base 28 at warp five" OOC ... you did fine ... good job ... but you can spend a little more time detailing what was done ... like what was seen out of the forward view screen ... maybe even what a person standing on the base would see out of a window ... remember we are reading this ... and the more of a "word picture" you can paint the easier it is for the reader to "see" the post in their minds eye.

Hannah listened as the emergency call came in and Jason went running out of sickbay. She wounded what had happened to the commander and hoped she would be ok. Noah looked unsure of what to say about sickbay and then was approached by one assistant that Jason had introduced as Michael Hope. Michael helped Noah to finish the tour and then they headed out of sickbay.
As they stepped onto the corridor, Jason came up the corridor and back towards sickbay. They were about to move onto the next location when the captain’s voice came across the comm.
Everyone went off in there separate directions and Hannah followed Noah to engineer. She was glad to be actually getting a chance to actually serve in engineer and was looking forward to actually leaving space dock. This excitement made her forget about her rumbling stomach she had been looking forward to the buffet.
They entered the room; everyone was running around getting the ship ready to leave space dock. They were getting all the system up and running checking that everything ready.
She turned as the door opened and Shelby walked in and over towards them. Hannah looked towards Noah unsure of what he wanted her to do.
“What would you like me to do?” she asked Noah. She wanted to help out, she also wanted to make a good impression.

“Admiral Drew to all hands. Report to your stations, we are going to be departing from the base. I repeat, report to your stations.”
Jason had just fallen back in step when that call went out. He quickly turned around, and headed back into Sickbay. He made himself look busy and serious for the Cadets' benefit.
But once he went inside Sickbay, he dropped the charade. His expression lightened, and his pace slowed. He smiled.
Michael came over to him. "You ever notice that when they say report to stations, we're pretty much the only ones on the entire ship that just go about what we were doing?" Jason observed.
Michael chuckled. "Nice, isn't it? How'd the tour go?"
"Quite well, while it lasted. Commander Bates certainly knows how to conduct a tour. Plenty of dry humor. I guess that comes with being an age-tempered engineer."
Michael shrugged. "I guess so. No idea."
"Anyway, back to what I was doing. I was working on the computer model to extrapolate the Triplets' adult heights," Jason said.
"But obviously the latter two will end up being smaller than the first. If this continues through the pregnancy, of course."
"That would be my opinion as well," Jason noted. "Sooooo.....have you and S'reena had a chance to discuss names yet?"

"Brandy, please tell me what you know of the defensive systems of an Intrepid class vessel." Commander S'reena said to the newest of the cadets.
Brandy straightened himself out to speak as professionally as he could. "Well sir." He pointed to the tactical controls, "An intrepid class ship is more of a tactical scout ship, it contains a number of defensive systems to include, 15 phaser emitters that are evenly distributed across the hull of the ship, and 4 torpedo launchers, two being foreword and two being aft oriented."
Commander S'renna Moved as if he was to continue speaking, Brandy quickly started again. "A number of other systems could tactically be considered." The commander looked as if to be interested. "The propulsion for example, being that this ship is able to sustain a speed of warp 9.975 for 12 hours, I would consider that a defensive system, for example exiting an undesired situation or system at a speed that many other ships would not be able to follow."Hoping the commander was agreeing with his statement Brandy continued. "And lastly sir, the sheer size, or lack thereof, is a defensive system, the maneuvering capabilities of this ship are so great that with a good pilot the intrepid class vessel can make other ships miss when fired at." Brandy stood momentarily making sure he did not leave any important details out, he believed himself a man that payed attention to all his options, he thought about mentioning the shuttles and there addition to ships defense, but figured that might be just a bit of overkill for the answere the commander had looked for.. "If you would like sir I could also give you my explanation of the ships offensive weapons as well." A smirk streaked across Brandy's face as he felt confidant with his on the spot thinking.

"Yes, Lt, I will be just fine." She says glad the tour is actually done for now. She makes sure to get into the nearest turbolift and up to the bridge without any incident. Once there she finds her cadet waiting for her, and she smiles like nothing happened.
"Okay, cadet, now is your time to shine, show me what you can do." She says stepping back only to monitor him, hoping he was up to the task of running this station alone, just in case he needed to. She hoped not to have any more of her memory return like it had in the brig, but she couldn't be certain.

Jack realized that the ship was no longer recieving his comands and realized sudenly that the instructor must have a way of taking control of the ship in emergency conditions or if the cadet screwed up. Since there didn't seem to be an emergency he asumed that he must of messed up. He went through his departure procedures and tried to refrence them to the what he remembered of his reading. Everything seemed right but Jack had a feeling he had forgotten about something. Suddenly Commander Graxon started talking, Awnsering Jacks unasked question.
"Cadet, you did just fine ... one of the best disembark that I have seen. However, you do not clear space traffic in or out of dock with the deflector shields ... we need to contact the base and ask if the pilot in the worker bee shuttle was injured."
As the commander said this the part about nav deflectors in his reading came to mind. ~How could I bee so stupid.~ He was used to a shuttle. In a shuttle you move anything smaller than you out of the way. aparently in a starship you need to be more careful about what or who you move. Jack listened as the Comander checked on the pilot let out a breath he did not know he was holding when they said he was fine. John looked up at the Cadet, winked, and returned flight controls to the Cadet. "Cadet, we may need to go and spend some time in simulations on handling space traffic ... but for now ... let's set speed to star base 28 at warp five." Jack felt relieved, he almost expected to be pulled out of the seat right then and there.
Jack got clearance to depart again and readjusted his course for his new position and made for the outer marker, at a slower speed this time. Jack looked out the veiw screen as a small convoy of freighters and transports dropped out of warp. most of the ships seemed to give the Hanson plenty of room. ~Must know a cadet is flying,~ Jack thought. One transport decided to use the extra space to proceed to the station quicker thatn the others. As it pulle ahead of the Hanson jack checked the sensors and slowed the Hanson enough to ensure plenty of space for both ships. Jack felt a little anoyed at the ship and resisted the urge to use the deflectors to give him a little warning, but he knew it would be useless and probly cause an accident, and after one mistake he decided one that big would probly get him kicked out of the academy. He settled him self to adjusting his course and muttering silently as he finaly made it to the outer marker. Once there Jack checked and made sure that he was cleared to warp away, then engaged the engines. He felt the warp engines hum to life as the ship was thrust to warp speed. Once he achieved Warp 5 he set the auto pilot and turned to the comand staff and his instructor. "We are at warp five, and course is steady to Starbase 28, Sirs and Ma'am," he said to them. He turned back and monitored the progress of the flight still a little anoyed that he screwed up.

“Admiral Drew to all hands. Report to your stations, we are going to be departing from the base. I repeat, report to your stations.”
Noah promptly spun his chair around. "Alright, you heard the Admiral. Report to your stations. Ms Stevenson, follow me. Cadet Shelby, please report to Engineering," he said, on the move after tapping his commbadge.
Shortly after they arrived in Engineering, Shelby arrived as well. Hannah looked uncertain. “What would you like me to do?” she asked Noah.
"Well..." Noah said, wheeling over to a console. He pressed a few keys.
But just as he was about to turn back to them, Lieutenant Bates called out. "Sir! We've got an antimatter containment field failure! We've got a Warp Core breach in progress!"
Immediately, Noah fully turned towards his console. "Eject the core!" he called out.
"I can't!" Lt Bates responded. "Ejection systems are malfunctioning!"
Noah tapped his commbadge. "Engineering to Bridge. We've got a Breach in progress, and I can't eject the Core."
There was no answer. "Communications are down too," Lt Bates then noted.
Noah quickly turned to the Cadets. "We need every able bodied person in Engineering helping in order to stop this. We must work quickly. Assist me."

(OOC: Please note that what's happening in this post is actually just a training exercise. None of these problems are real. If you are not in Engineering, do not respond to them. But if you are in Engineering, you don't know it's a drill, so act like its real)

John sat back as Cadet Whillis took the controls again and took the ship past the outer marker and then to warp. John noticed he responded to space traffic as one of the transports took lead in the flight pattern. The Cadet could have asked the transport to hold because the star base had cleared the Hanson, but he would bring that up in a simulation. As Cadet Whillis turned the ship over to auto, and announced to the bridge that the ship was at warp and on course, John introduced the Cadets first training exercise.
Cadet Whillis no sooner turn back around to face his controls when John, by typing on his PaDD, adjusted the warp field to be inefficient and cause the ship to slow to warp 4.6. The ship began to shutter ever so slightly, however John suppressed the notification from the warp system, he wanted to see if the Cadet saw the warp field and if he new that it was the navigation officers job to make sure it was correct for the speed that was set. The internal dampeners were also not balanced correctly, other wise the ship would have simply slowed and not reacted in the manner that this exercise had been programed.
OOC .. ok Cadet Whillis ... you just read what was wrong ... but in this exercise you need to first find the problem, by telling how you found it, and then how you would go about fixing it ...

ooc: nice post mr Brandy...but you were talking to Lt Arakkis, not S'reena Hope;)
ic:
Arakkis nodded approvingly at the young man's recount of an Intrepid's systems. "Please do," he encouraged, "by the way Ms Soaringstar, now that you've positively identified the targeting systems, I would like you to confer with the navigations cadets and instructor to perform a few routine targeting tests. Tyrron, as Soaringstar does the targeting, use phasers and torpedo dummies at your disgression."
<Soaringstar/Tyrron>
The human instructor turned back to Brandy. "About those offensive systems?" He winked at S'reena, who had stepped up to them.
<Brandy>
"How are they doing?" S'reena asked him, then turned to Brandy. "Greetings cadet, we haven't met yet. I'm Commander S'reena Hope, first officer. How do you like it so far?
<Brandy>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Of course we have," Michael laughed, then waved a finger at the CMO, "and I know what you're thinking too!" He chuckled as he saw Jason's mock-innocent expression. "Ah....playing the innocent on me are you? We've discussed names, though since we have been kind of expecting another girl from the start, we've only decided on a girls name really. We've decided on Kyala, which has her godmother-to-be's name in it, at least partially."
He paused, as he continued to sort vials for various hyposprays. "As for the boys.....don't really know. I thought of Andrew, but since the girls really all have humanoid names, I thought it would be nice for S'reena to go for something more Romulan or at least Vulcanoid. I'll have to discuss that with her. I'll tell you though, Kahlan is delighted! Yarna doesn't really notice much of it yet even though she's nearly two. Of course she knows something is going on, but she's too young to understand now."
Jack felt the ship begin to vibrate slightly and he frowned. He could call engineering but he knew he could figure it out him self. He went through what he remembered of the ships systems and even called a few guides on his screen. It seemed to click in his head like someone turning on the lights. The vibrations can be stopped by recalibrating the Inertial Dampeners. He knew there was another reason for the vibrations but it would be nice to stop the vibrations first. Nobody liked a shaking ship. It took jack a couple of tries but he finaly got the Inertial compensaters alighned right and the shudering subsided. ~Now to find the cause for it.~
He started to check the different parts of the engines. He traced the plasma flow and Antimatter reactions from begining to end but everything was straight and good there. Jack glanced at his speed indicator right then and saw that it was down a little from his set speed. ~Thats odd,~ he thought. Finally Jack thought he knew the problem. He knew it had to be the warp field, it was a subspace bubble that could lighten a ship and makeit move faster, there fore if it was not in an apropriate configuration the ship might be to heavy to proceed at the desired warp factor. Jack began crunching the numbers for the equation of a stable warp feild through the computer. The computer sent him the figuers faster then he could have gotten from his own head and he started to readjust the warp field. He watched on a diagram as the field began to become more stable. Atleast in his opinion it was.
As the speed began to come back up he turned to his instructor to see if he had done it right. He hoped that he had not really messed up this time.
OOC: How is that? The guides did not have much on warp fields so i did some guesse work from what I saw on the shows.
(OOC: Joint post between S'reena and I. Warning: loooong post!)
"She'll realize eventually. Granted, the day the triplets are born is the when she will finally grasp it," Jason noted. Michael had indeed caught onto him. Well, Jason was a good name after all. Though that was a bit biased on his part.
"Might I suggest the name Ian?" he suggested. "It's the name of my eldest brother."
"It's still a human name," Michael replied, still laughing, "and you seem quite eager to have one of our children named after you." He stuck out his tongue at his chief.
Jason laughed. "Hey, can you blame me?"
"No," Michael laughed, "but we'll see. At any rate, which of the infants will be born smaller than the rest? And shouldn't we be able to treat that with growth hormone?"
"Your daughter will be the smallest of the three, due to the usual gender differences, but only by about an inch from the smaller brother. That's my estimate anyway. And yes, growth hormones should do just fine. The only other option is genetic engineering. But for that, you, S'reena and I would all lose our commissions, and probably be arrested. And Starfleet is suspicious enough of your family as it is," Jason pointed out. But he quickly changed subjects. "If they're put on a growth hormone regimine in infancy, they should be the same size as the third child by the time theyre about 3 years old."
"I wouldn't consent to genetic engineering anyway," Michael grunted, "and I doubt S'reena would either. No, growth hormones will have to do, but not too many and not too long. If they're a little smaller it doesn't matter. I only want it done if the size difference is really extreme." He gazed up at Jason from stacking the PADDs. "And I don't want you to administer anything of the likes to them without our consent."
Jason was a bit shocked. "Michael, you should know me better than that by now. Would I ever do that?"
"Maybe, if you thought it was medically best," Michael said carefully. He didn't want to insult his chief in any way, but he still had to make it clear.
"I come from a large family, remember? Just because I'm not a parent doesn't mean I don't respect parental authority," Jason noted.
"I know," Michael sighed, "you know I just hope everything will go all right in this pregnancy. As you know she didn't even want to get pregnant a third time because of the two other extremely difficult births she experienced. I'm really worried about her, she acts as if nothing is wrong, and goes about her business as usual. I just wish she'd talk to me about her fears, and would take it a little more easy. she's been through quite a lot lately."
"She's Romulan. I know she wasn't raised among her people, but the personality still goes along with the species." He decided to change the subject. "On another note, you're going to need new quarters. Your family is going to almost double in size!"
"Romulan all the way," Michael agreed with a sigh, "down to the stubborn nature." He blinked at Jason's next comment. "You don't say," he grinned, "though I trust S'reena's already prodded Admiral Drew about this....probably drove him nuts on the subject already. But where do we find quarters that'll fit seven? Other than VIP quarters."
"You'll have to combine a couple quarters into a larger unit. VIP quarters are meant for high quality, not high capacity. And I just thought of something else. The children are going to outnumber you now," Jason said and chuckled.
"Five to two," Michael sighed, "and the females are still in the majority! Good grief.....all those little female problems when they get older. Those poor boys!"
He grinned broadly. "But I wouldn't have it any other way either!" he added.
"My parents were outnumbered when my brother George was born. Not only where they outnumbered, but there's a reason George is now a demolitions specialist. He loved to destroy things."
"Oh dear, your poor parents! Kahlan's a really nosy creature...I think she's going to follow into her mother's footsteps. Yarna's empathy may actually steer her towards counseling, though she's very easily upset. Remember when Marcell was in trouble? How Yarna wouldn't leave him? On the other hand, either may go into diplomacy, like S'reena's brother T'rell."
"Who knows?" Jason asked rhetorically. "Only time will tell."
OOC: Sorry about that I got a little confused there, I saw your name id and thought I was with the commander, I forgot about your post regarding Lt. Arakkis.
0C: The human instructor turned back to Brandy. "About those offensive systems?" He winked at S'reena, who had stepped up to them.
Brandy turned a slight bit to acknowledge Commander S'reena, "Hello sir," Brandy returned his attention to Lt. Arakkis. "Well sir, as I have said earlier, obviously the phasers and torpedoes are our primary offensive weapons. But as with many systems on a star ship some of them may be able to be used for some offensive purpose." Brandy took a step closer to the console to examine in more detail the tactical systems. "For instance, the shields, with main power and axillary power rerouted through the foreword shield generator this ship would be able to withstand a pretty significant impact with another object, most likely a ship resulting in heavy damage to that vessel." Lt Arakkis stood with a puzzled look on his face. "These suggestions I have are of course only used in a more dire circumstance as they would also damage our ship as well sir." Brandy turned and pointed to the helm.
"If I may continue sir, the deflector shields, I believe they may be used to move debris and things out of the ships path, well I don't see why another ship wouldn't qualify, if more power could be fed to the deflector array to compensate for the larger mass of a combat vessel, we just might be able to push or rotate the enemy ship into a certain position that would optimize our targeting for our own phasers or torpedoes."
"How are they doing?" S'reena asked him, then turned to Brandy. "Greetings cadet, we haven't met yet. I'm Commander S'reena Hope, first officer. How do you like it so far?
"Greetings Commander, sorry for keeping you waiting wile you had to hear my long spiel of an explanation, sir." Brandy stood with a small smile across his face.
<Commander S'reena>
"Well sir I was just finishing up, but I still had a few things up my sleeve sir." Brandy stood, hoping they were not bored yet.
<Commander S'reena>
"Ok sir.... Now where was I...... Oh yes.. This ship has a number of shuttle craft to include and aerowing class shuttle, as I recall the aerowing follows very closely to the specification of a Denube class runabout, that means it is armed with 13.3 millimeter micro torpedoes, 6 phaser strips, and four normal size photon or quantum torpedoes, this is an enormous tactical tool that an intrepid class star ship could use for offensive operations, especially when using coordinated fire on a single point on an enemies shields. And lastly I bunch the last few together because there use is only going to happen in the worst of situations, the main deflector, which can be used to channel enormous amounts of energy focused into a single beam, much like a phaser but with more power than both our photon and quantum torpedo reserve put together. Of course, one shot and the main deflector dish is fried, but what a blast." Brandy, throughout his tactical review, moved his head to make eye contact between the two officers in front of him. "Lastly I would consider the antimatter ejector toobs and busard collectors, you could eject antimatter to encompass and enemy vessel, and then subject it to a matter stream the resulting uncontrolled reaction would be very violent, and destructive to the enemy vessel, as for the bussard collectors, they could be used just like the Enterprise-D collecting combustible gas, then discharging it at the enemy, then igniting the resulting cloud causing severe damage the enemy vessels." Brandy felt confident in his tactical solutions and waited for criticism.
The ship was busy with all the Cadets performing their respective tasks. The bridge, on this class ship, was a bit wider than some so, people didn't get in others way. The hum of the ship during flight was something that everyone was getting a feel for ... and Cadet Whillis did a fine job finding the problem and correcting it. Adjusting the dampeners first was the correct thing to do ... this internal dampeners were the only thing really that protected everyone at warp from being a flat spot on the wall.
"Good Job! Cadet ... just remember," after seeing the Cadet look-over some Engineering systems that he didn't have access to, "your main responsibility is the warp field. If anything is wrong with the power supplying that field, then you get Engineering involved, or if you can't stabilize the field. However, checking over those systems is a good thing ... so Job Well Done!"
"OK ... most of the time a nav officer just sits here ... looking over the warp field ... the internal dampeners ... and the deflector system. At warp the deflector system is handled by the computer as we can't make that many calculations at once ... but at sub-light speeds the systems is turned back over to manual." John was instructing. "Also, during any combat situations you need to overlay the tactical sensors over the navigation ... this will help you coordinate and work with the Tactical officer during attack or defense maneuvers. Your job during a combat issue is to keep any week area of the shields away from the enemies line of fire ... and to help set the ship up for firing solutions." John saw the intense look from Whillis and new he mind was almost recording each word, "in other words Cadet, you and the Tactical officer are almost acting as one person during any skirmish."
<Whillis>
"OK Cadet ... keep an eye on your read-outs and we will take a breather before our next exercise," John said.
Jack listened as the Commander talked and was realeaved that he did not mess up. He lisened as his instructor outlined the duties of a navigational officer especially the part about Tacticle situations.
"In other words Cadet, you and the Tactical officer are almost acting as one person during any skirmish." Commander Graxon said.
Jack looked over at the Tacticle station and saw all the cadet working hard at their station. He looked back at Graxon, "Yes, Sir. I understand. I apologize for the whole engineering diagrams sir, I was not aware that I was not suposed to have access to those."
"OK Cadet ... keep an eye on your read-outs and we will take a breather before our next exercise," John said.
"Yes Sir," Jack said and turned back to his console and continued monitoring the ships progress.
Hannah tried to remember her academy training with all the simultaneous and lectures. There had to be something and then an idea came to her.
“I’m going to try decoupling the dilithium matrix,” she shouted as she rushed to nearest tool kit and took a tricorder out. She went over to the warp core taking reading with her tricorder and using interfacing it with the system.
It was having no effect she tried again.
“It isn’t working,” she shouted on Noah. All the other engineers were running around trying to contain the breach and a few were trying to get the communications systems back online, so if it did come to it, they could order an evaluation. There was group of engineers working on the manual ejection system trying to get that working, Shelby had joined them.
“2 minutes to warp core breach,” the computer said.
Then idea came to Hannah. She rushed over to the controls in front of the warp core and began to try in commands. She had know clue if this was going to work, but she thought she might as well give it a try, they were about to get blown up in less than 2 minutes.
Right after the incident with the Commander I herd the Admiral on the Com system telling everybody to report to there stations.
OCC:Keeping that this is a drill...
Then I herd over my combadge Commander Bates telling me to report to Engineering.
Just as I arived Hannah asked the Commander what we should do just then he wheeled over to a council and puched a cople keys.Just as he was about to turn around LT.Bates Called out Sir! We've got an antimatter containment field failure.Then he said we have a warp core breach in progress.Then he leand over his council and called out eject the core!.Just then LT.Bates said the Ejection system wasnt working which isnt good.Just then the coms when't down.Then The Commander turned back and told everybody in Engineering to help him in the recent problems.
We went over to a council and she started to type in commands.As we started to look over it all we couldnt find the problem it just wouldnt work.After that I started to get into the systems programs to make sence of it all then I seen that there was maybe a virus or maybe just some panel circuitry was fried I had no idea.I Gave the information to LT.Bates then he gave it to the Commander.After I gave it to the LT I got the idea to try to bypass the system and write a more simpler program to just stop the core from running its not like its a Reaction chamber.I started to try to just shut down the system instead of ejecting the Core.
<Commander>
OCC:How do I know if I'm doing sumthin right?and sorry for not posting alot I got a ton of homework in engineering class in school sorry.
OOC: I'm completely new on this vessel. I'm still reading up on the beginning posts, so if I do something out of ignorance, please forgive me, I'm reading as fast as I can. Also, I've yet to get my position for sure, whether it be Tactical, Ops, or Helm. Any work fine. Though Tactical or Ops would be prefferable (Tactical even more so, unless Ops can be easily explained to me). Any info people can give me to help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I notice people have in their signature their name/rank/post/etc. What should I put in mine, if anything?
ON:
Cadet 4th Class Nick Grayson hurried onto the ship, dazed at the flurry of activity he had just gone through. First he had arrived on Base just a week before, but hadn't received his post until just an hour before. He didn't even have his rating yet! And then for the last few days the computer wouldn't recognize his ID, aye-yi-yi! But he had finally made it, and had no idea where to go first. He asked the computer where his quarters were, and then for a map of where it was. He grabbed his luggage and hurried down the corridors, hoping he wouldn't get in trouble for being so late...
"Shelby says there may be something interfering with the necessary systems," Lt Bates yelled to Noah over the emergency klaxons.
Noah nodded, then wheeled over to him. He noticed Shelby was working on programming code of some sort. "What's your idea, Cadet?" he asked him.
"Well sure," Shelby replied. "I figured maybe we could re-write the programming running some of these things. Instead of stop what's happening, just restart it entirely."
"Excellent idea, Cadet!" He turned. "Lieutenant," he said, turning to the younger Bates, "We're going to try to overriding everything by rebooting."
"One minute, thirty seconds to Warp Core breach," the Computer reminded them.
Bates made his voice as loud as he could. "Alright, I want everyone except myself, Lieutenant Bates, and the Cadets out of here immediately. Now move!"
Once people started clearing the room, Noah called out. "Alright, let's see what we can do. Shelby, start trying to override the containment field. Stevenson, the Injectors. Lieutenant Bates and I will work on the ejection system."
Calvin simply stood behind his console waiting for new messages or other busy work. His instructor had arrived on the bridge and Cadet Capps was happy to see that she was ok. She seemed to just watch him as he watched his console, and also looking up at the view screen to see Cadet Whillis fly the Hanson out of Space Dock.
It was a nice view. Calvin could see multiple worker bees, shuttles, and other vessels outside. It was an amazing view of the unending space, and all the little stuff in between.
