(OOC: Sorry that I have been out of the story for so long, but I have been having an overload of work, school and home. I have been reading for almost a half hour now, but I'm finally caught up, I guess)
YrDis' head was pounding, but he opened his eyes anyway. Looking up, he could see the business end of a bio sensor which was suspended from the ceiling. So as not to make his head worse, he slowly panned around the room. He was in the Hanson's Sickbay. Not surprising really. He had been through a fair bit on the planet, and using his electrical ability usually put him out for an hour or so.
He sat up, swung his legs off the bed and stood unsteadily. The pain intensified, then settled into a dull, throbbing ache, although there was a background whisper in his head that he couldn't quite ignore. The counsellor looked around. There were several med techs seeing to the wounded, but he couldn't see either Dr. Black or Hope, or the medical cadet Tintagel. He strode over to the closest med tech. "Crewman, where is Dr. Black?"
The man looked up, startled. "Dr. Black left for the bridge. The ship has been boarded by the Maquis."
That surprised him. YrDis looked around, but it was clear that there was no one in the room capable of leaving. It looked like he was on his own, for now. He pulled his phaser out of it's holster and cautiously left Sickbay.
The corridor was abandoned, but there were several scorch marks on the walls from some combat that must have taken place. YrDis crept down the corridor towards the turbolift. At the closest wall console, he typed in some commands, but it was offline. He discovered that the lift was also offline when he reached it.
The commander stopped to consider his options. It was unlikely that any assault that he began by himself would end in failure, but he had yet to see anyone but wounded. He needed some extra force, but didn't know where on the ship to get it.
As he sat and thought, the quiet breeze continued to whisper in his head, and he found himself caught in it's soothing embrace. Abruptly, he realized what he was listening to and decided that anything was worth a try at this point.
YrDis concentrated on that internal whisper and thought "Can you hear me?"
There was a long pause, long enough for YrDis to think there would be no response. Then a number of voices said simultaneously "Yes, we hear you."
"I am back aboard my ship. We have been captured by the forces that have been attacking you. I need your help" YrDis thought loudly.
"These Maquis are off of our planet. We have our own wounded and dead. The collective is of primary importance. Why should we help you?" the voice answered back.
"You are a part of our collective now. If we don't help one another, we will all be destroyed. If we work together, there's a chance that we can overcome the odds" YrDis thought, as convincingly as he could.
There was a rush of noise in his head, like a babbling brook, that went by too fast for him to comprehend. Then came the reply. "We will help you."
As soon as the phrase was completed, four heavily armed Borg materialized around YrDis. The counsellor told the Borg what he wanted to do, and the five of them climbed into the nearest Jeffries tube.

"Please, if you have any shred of humanity left in you, I would ask you to put the phaser down. No one else needs to die here today."
An ill-advised approach, Illito thought. Appealing to the Maquis’ sense of humanity wouldn’t work. Even if they did somehow believe in doing the right thing, they probably already believed that they were doing it. No amount of pleading would convince any Maquis to give up the cause they fought so hard for. But Illito had seen the flicker of doubt that had crossed Arina’s face. It had confused her. However, Arina obviously knew that Illito had seen her hesitancy, her resolve had seemed to strengthen.
Illito could hear Dr. Black’s voice become firmer, evidently he had not seen the uncertainty that Arina had not been able to hide. “If Commander Hope dies, you will have nothing left to force me to bend to your will. Please, allow me to treat her, in Sickbay. You can keep me under however strong of a guard you wish.”
Illito felt like a fool hiding behind the doctor. It wasn’t like she was four. She could take care of herself. Or hope that situations would improve on their own, at least. Of course, she could do the same while keeping cover. But she had never been much for hoping. It wasn’t in her nature. But now, it seemed like, for the third time in her life, there was actually something worth hoping for. She wanted Starfleet to regain control of the ship, sure. But it wasn’t because she was just trying to do her duty, she had begun to truly care about her shipmates.

Realizing the sticky situation she is in, Arina decides it is best not to shoot the doctor, because she might need them later. All of a sudden she has a bright idea.
“Loroka mos bentosa.” She says to her brother, who chuckles.
“Ricka mota lokuka.” He responds, and she smiles, realizing their translators are worthless in this dead language. From the ops console they hear a few beeps, and then carefully Tos hits a few buttons opening the channel Ado was on, and nodded once her way.
“Hello, sir, it is good that we can still communicate. This is Arina, and we have the bridge. Their commanding officer is dead, and we have a couple people to deal with. I have lost one officer and the other was wounded. We would like to spare the doctor and pilot, as they might be of use to us.” She says remembering her idea, and not waiting for her leader to speak. She rushes into actions somersaulting out of harms way, and she realizes she will have only one shot at this. As she is still in the tuck part, she fires and hits Wesson in the chest stunning him. He falls to the deck, and her men start to fire on the new comers. It isn’t long before she has taken them, and she smiles.
“As for you doctor, if you want her to live, then treat her here.” She says not wanting to be so spread out for fear of an attack.
“Ma’am, I’m reading several Borg aboard, what should we do?” Rodduck says looking up at her, and she turns back.
“Seal the all the doors with your phasers. Unarm our new guests quickly while they are unconscious. Doctor, let me know when she is alive again.” She says smiling mischievously. She remembers her commanding officer is still listening in.
“Sir we could use some more help here, and we would like to know what to do. Those in engineering were stopped.” She says waiting further instructions.

“As for you doctor, if you want her to live, then treat her here.” She said, still holding the weapon.
He moved somewhat in Hope's direction, testing Arina's word. When she didnt shoot, he then started to move quickly. Crouching, and pulling the med kit off his shoulder that had been there the entire time, he turned to Illito. "We've got work to do. Normally, I would explain what I'm doing, but I'll explain this entire procedure on the holodeck once Commander Hope is actually alive. There's a chance we can still revive her, but it has to be done fast."
He placed a cortical stimulator on her forehead, and a neural stimulator on her chest. He turned to Illito and said quickly, "Cortical stimulator to get her brain going, and neural stimulator to get her nervous system going," he said, pointing to each. He picked up a medical tricorder. "I'm setting it to instruct each to deliver a 10 MegaJoule burst, at 5 second interval." He pressed the activator key, and her body jerked tensely, then went loose again in her chair. "No response. 20 megaJoules." She jerked again.
"I've got a pulse," he said loudly. He grabbed a hypospray and put a vial in it. "This is cordrazine, a very powerful stimulant, and used to treat electrical burns, and to revive stunned patients." He pressed it to her neck, and the cordrazine went in with a hiss.
He picked up the tricorder again. He checked the readout, and looked at the heartbeat. It was steady. He gave a sigh of relief. "She'll live."

She was floating, higher and higher, as if being pulled towards something. When she looked down, she saw a male and a female bent over her body, while others in a black uniform were held at gunpoint, either on the bridge itself, or locked in a tiny room. She wanted to go back, but the pull was too strong; she suddenly realised she was dead.
Shot to death, she realised, remembering the utter agony that was sent through her body when the phaser blast had hit her right above her heart, cutting the major artery that would provide her body with oxygenated blood. Damn those Maquis.
She hoped dearly that her crewmates would succeed in driving the enemy from the ship. Too bad she hadn't succeeded in redeeming the captain, she had grown quite fond of him. Michael would be sad too, and would be left with the care of her two children.
Suddenly the pull direction changed. The direction she was traveling to repulsed her, while the other end started to draw. She felt herself being slammed back in her body, and involuntarily, she gave a soft moan.
The tricorder beeped softly, as her heartbeat strengthened and became more frequent and steady, and her lungs deeply inhaled prescious air, though aided by a respirator.

YrDis and his small contingent of Borg climbed out of Jeffries tube L17 and onto Deck 14. As he had hoped, it seemed quite deserted. They slowly made their way towards the objective. As they moved, the song intensified inside the counsellor's head. They have detected us." They began moving faster until they stood outside the front door of their destination. Mentally, they conferred. YrDis used his command codes to unlock the door and the Borg rushed in, weapons ready.
However, the Tactical Department on Deck 14 was empty. YrDis rushed over to the weapons locker and exchanged his nearly depleted phaser for a fresh one, a Type III phaser rifle and a standard military backpack, which he knew contained all types of useful implements of war. The Borg had clustered around the main control for the internal sensors, using their advanced Borg technology to make some major changes to the internal security software.
YrDis stepped over to see what the Borg were up to, but the main display was changing so rapidly that he couldn't keep track. Finally, the leader of the Borg, Terson, looked up at him and spoke to his mind. "We have succeeded. The internal sensors are now showing over 50 Borg wandering the ship, but we have been masked. We have also gained control of the internal force fields. What shall we do now?"
"Show me the main bridge." YrDis said. The correct display came up, and he could see that there were a number of Starfleet personel and other life forms on the bridge. YrDis could only assume that they were Maquis. It looked like one of the Starfleets was near death. He had to get moving.
As he was thinking this, the Borg detected a number of life signs coming towards the Tactical Office. YrDis pulled out a tricorder and scanned, detecting that all three of them had comm badges. He quickly walked over to the door and stuck his hands out, unarmed. Then his head. At the head of the Starfleet personel was Dr. Hope and two Security cadets. "YrDis, what are you doing here? The last I saw, you were flat on your back in Sickbay!" the Doctor exclaimed.
Without answering, YrDis politely grabbed and dragged the three of them into the Tactical office. There were a few tense moments when the security cadets saw the Borg, but the counsellor quickly explained everything.
"Well, what do you think that our next move should be?" Hope asked.
"We need to establish control of the ship, but we obviously can't do it from here, and things look difficult on the bridge. We're going to Engineering" YrDis stated flatly.
Hope and the two cadets nodded quickly. YrDis looked at the Borg and thought "Have you masked them as well?" The Borg nodded too, and the unlikely group slipped out of the Tactical Office and started making their way to Engineering.

Now that Commander Hope was revived, Jason looked around. They were still in a stalemate. The crew on the Bridge was heavily outnumbered. There was no way to win this conflict through force. It was time for a different approach.
Jason raised his hand, and his voice, and said quickly, "Computer, activate Emergency Medical Protocol Five-Seven-Alpha. Authorization Black, Alpha Nine Red."
The computer beeped and clicks were heard throughout the room as the doors sealed. Gas began pouring in through every vent.
Arina looked around in horror, then glared at Jason. "What have you done?!"
"This room is currently being with anesthezine gas. Rather convenient that you already phasered the doors shut, though they would have sealed themselves anyway."
One of the Maquis ran towards a Jeffries tube hatch, trying to pull it open. But each successive pull at the hatch was weaker and weaker. Within a few moments, everyone in the room fell to the ground.
****************************************************
The computer called out "Attention Doctor Michael Hope. Emergency Medical Protocol Five-Seven-Alpha has been activated."
YrDis turned to Michael. "What does that mean?"
"That protocol seals the Bridge and floods it with anesthezine gas. If the Chief Medical Officer is on the Bridge at the time, the computer finds the most senior medical officer thats still conscious and alerts them. That means Doctor Black was on the Bridge at the time and activated it himself."
YrDis was skeptical. "But what if the Maquis managed to trigger it?"
Michael shook his head. "Only a few people on the entire ship know about that protocol. And only the Chief Medical Officer and Commanding Officer have the authorization to activate it. Because Captain Marcell was stripped of his command codes, that means Jason was the only one who could activate it. I suggest we go to the Bridge."

YrDis' small group had stopped when the announcement came over the comm and Dr. Hope mentioned his suggestion. The counsellor carefully considered the idea, then rejected it. Going to the bridge was not the best idea right now, considering that they would have to climb there from Deck 15. Assuming that anesthezine gas had actually been released on the bridge, everyone there would be out for at least an hour. That still meant that if there were Maquis in Engineering, they would have control of the ship. As far as he knew, YrDis was the senior officer right now, and reestablishing control of the ship was his primary responsibility.
"I'm afraid not, doctor. We need to regain control of engineering. From there, we can access the transporters which will allow us to regain the bridge much more easily. Let's go" he ordered, and the little group started moving again.
However, Hope stood his ground. "My wife is on the bridge. I need to get there now!" he insisted.
This was YrDis' other problem. He had had extensive time to review Commander Hopes' medical records over the last while. When he had ordered the scan of the bridge, he noted that the life signs of the injured person were those of Commander Hope. Unfortunately, he needed everyone he had right now and if he told Michael that his wife was badly wounded, he probably wouldn't be able to function. "I'm aware of what you want, doctor. Unfortunately, I have a ship to retake. You're coming with us. I'm sure S'Reena can take care of herself."
Reluctantly, Hope allowed himself to be persuaded and they continued on their way to Engineering.

In a dark room, the silhouette of an old man could be seen. The man stood up, and walked towards a medkit. He was bleeding. A large cut in his face disfigured his cheek, and several bruises on his arms and body were overly present. It was Lt. Franklin, science instructor, thinking back, trying to make sense of the situation.
He was working on a particle analysis on the primary star, while all of a sudden several Maquis stormed in. His cadet hadn't returned yet, and his staff was busy with other duties, so he was quite alone in the lab. The Maquis brutally slashed Franklin's face, and demanded information. When Franklin informed as to what kind of information, he was greeted by another display of physical violence, until he lost consciousness.
When he woke up, the Maquis guards were praising the collection of hazardous chemicals in the lab. Suddenly, his cheek stung fiercely, and felt a needle being pulled out. He was informed this was quadrosulfazine, a dangerous substance, which would react with the skin ongoingly, essentially burning it away. It was but the first torture.
Gaps in his memory prevented Franklin from piecing together the rest, but he knew for sure he had not told anyone anything. The guards appearently lost interest, and only two Maquis members remained, just in case Franklin would snap and tell everything. But now... now the tables were turned. Franklin picked up a hypospray and in stead of filling it with a painkiller, he infused it with Kinoacidosic Pentagilan, a powerful acid. Then he moaned, and pretended the torture had finally paid off. A guard entered.
"Let me see that." The Maquis pointed at the hypospray. "It's only a nerve hyperpolarisator. I'm in pain." "I want to check it first."
The Maquis came closer, reached out for the hypospray and witnessed some quick movements before feeling a sting in his neck. He screamed out, clearly in agony, and fell to the floor. The other guard ran in to check the situation, and looked right into the barrel of one of his own weapons. After being on the recieving end of an energy beam, he fell down on top of his colleague. Franklin quickly grabbed two canisters off a shelve, and put them into a phaser holster.
"Computer, display all Federation lifesigns."
The computer did so, and did the same with the following command, displaying non-Federation biosigns.
Three minutes later, Franklin was on his way (quite weakly, I might add) to main Engineering.

While awaiting her fate in the ready room with all the other cadets and officers, she stands near the door to hear what is going on on the bridge. Paris heard the doctor say, ""Computer, activate Emergency Medical Protocol Five-Seven-Alpha. Authorization Black, Alpha Nine Red."
Paris was confused, she wasn't sure what was going on at first but then she started to get really weak and had to sit down for a minute. The last thing that she can remember was seeing the rest of her crewmates slowly falling to the floor, then everything started to get fuzzy and then eventually went black.
She woke up to complete silence, wondering what happened. She looked over to see what was going on and saw that everyone was laying on the floor. She slowly rose to her feet and pried open the doors to the bridge. Seeing everyone out cold, she was concerned about her commanding officer, and then went over to see if she was alright. She noticed that the Commander was having trouble breathing she went over and woke up Illito. It took a minute to wake her but she finally stirred. Paris told her that the Commander was having trouble breathing and need assistance.
Paris left, returning to the ready room, only to replicate several yards of duct tape. She goes back to the main bridge to tie up all the unconcious maquis. She does a quick head count when she is done, and notices that one of them is missing. She hears a noise behind her, and quickly turns around to see Arina standing there pointing a phaser at her. Not thinking and reacting only, she knocks Arina's phaser from her hand, which seems to shock her.
Paris shoots her a quick grin, then punches her in the face. Unfortunately Arina dodges her punch, and smiles herself.
"If you think I am going to make this fight easy, then you have another thing coming. If I lose here, then that is it for me, and I know it." Arina says throwing a kick at Paris's head followed by a punch to the gut.
Paris smiles, and says, "I don't think this is going to be easy. If I thought it was going to be easy, I would have just let u shoot me." Blocking the kick, but missing the punch, and gets the wind knocked out of her. She recovers, and grabbing her by the hair, punches her in the face, saying,"I didn't miss that time."
Arina grabs Paris's wrist where the girl is holding her by the hair, and pushes it against her head then pushes it down. Having her by the wrist, Arina kicks her in the left ribs several times.
Having been kicked one too many times, she clenches her hand into a fist, and using all the force she has punches Arina across the face, in which Arina lets go of her wrist. She then cresent kicks her in the face followed, with no pause in between the two, with a front kick to the gut. This all takes Arina by surprise, and she doubles over in pain from the kick to her gut, in which Paris takes her fist in her other hand, brings it over her head, and comes back down forcefully hitting Arina in between the shoulder blades.
Arina falls to the floor in such a daze, not knowing what hit her, and Paris, who still has the tape, forcefully puts her knee in the middle of Arina's back, and taking Arina's hands behind her, Paris tapes them. Once that is done, Paris does a three-sixty and tapes her legs.
Arina realizes what has just happened and starts to shout in a different language at Paris. Since Paris didn't want to hear it in any language, she rolls Arina over to her back, and tapes her mouth as well.
Since the fight is over, she realizes she should wake some of the officers up. She finds and wakes up her instructor, Doctor Black, and Hawking, and then she and Gordon set about trying to get out of the electrical storm, and back to the planet to complete their mission.

Jason raised his hand, and his voice, and said quickly, "Computer, activate Emergency Medical Protocol Five-Seven-Alpha. Authorization Black, Alpha Nine Red."
Gas began pouring into the room. Great, thought Illito. She just hoped that either someone would come to rescue them, or that some of the Starfleet personnel would regain consciousness before the Maquis did. There had to be something about different alien’s physiology, maybe it didn’t affect some species as much as others. Whoever it was that would recover first, Illito doubted it would be her. She seemed to be feeling a lot weaker than the Maquis. As she lost more and more energy, everything seemed to go black.
The next thing she realized was that Angel was standing over her, trying to wake her. Illito shook her head, which really did not help her headache at all. “Commander Hope seems to be having trouble breathing,” Angel told her. “I didn’t know what to do.”
Illito glanced at the commander. She doubted her condition was serious. The noises she was making while trying to breathe were a little alarming, but the commander still seemed to be fine. Or, at least, not dead anymore.
Angel returned to the bridge, proudly wielding several yards of duct tape. “Why duct tape? Wouldn’t something stronger work better?” asked Illito, her headache no weaker than it had been before.
“This is how I want to do it,” Angel replied, daring Illito to argue.
“Whatever.” It hardly seemed worth bickering about. After all, there were rather more important issues to deal with. Illito kept half an eye on Angel, as the Bajoran taped up the Maquis.
Illito watched Angel and Arina fight, the two Bajorans both seemed far more awake than Illito was. Illito wanted to help, but as she tried to stand, she felt a little woozy. Fortunately, Angel seemed more than able to take care of herself.
After the fight was over, Angel woke up whoever she could. Illito just felt like falling unconscious again, and glared as Angel hopped around the bridge, full of energy. It must be something about Bajoran physiology, Illito thought. After all, Arina had seemed similarly alert. It was interesting, she would have to remember that. She also promised herself to remember to avoid anesthezine gas.

YrDis' little force now numbered 8, with himself, four Borg, Dr. Hope and two Security cadets Deren and Adala. He had split them up into two groups, with the four Borg in one and Starfleet personel in the other. They were preparing to rush the main doors of engineering. Tricorders had picked up a single human standing at the doors, and YrDis thought that it might be a Maquis guard.
The commander accessed his internal communications to the Borg to coordinate the attack, and everyone in YrDis' group came around corners simultaneously. He was surprised to see an Engineering cadet he recognized standing with his back to the door, staring intently at a engineering tricorder, his phaser holstered. The cadet didn't notice the two groups until they were right on top of him, then he reacted quickly, pulling out his phaser. However, YrDis already had his phaser rifle pointed at the cadet and he shook his head impatiently. Rather shamefaced, the cadet ceased his action.
"You are cadet Gary Owens, is that correct?" YrDis asked.
<Cadet Owens>
YrDis nodded, staring at the doors to Engineering. "What's going on in Engineering, Cadet?"
<Cadet Owens>
"Very well, we need to reestablish control of the ship from engineering. Assist us." YrDis ordered, and the group entered the Engineering compartment.

About fifteen minutes later, Illito was finally feeling a little better. Everyone seemed to ignore her until she was ready to wake up on her own. Or, at least, they had ignored after she had snapped at them to leave her alone. So, she didn’t like being gassed very much. They could hardly chastise her very much for that, could they?
Illito glanced at the Maquis that Angel had duct taped, and was becoming a little worried that they might be able to escape. After all, duct tape would only work for some time, before the Maquis would get free. Fortunately, someone else seemed to be taking care of that. Now that her headache was gone, Illito tried to see what she could do to help. It didn’t seem like there was very much she could do. She seemed to have been most affected by the gas, and now it was starting to wear off.
Everyone seemed to be doing fine, except, of course, for S’reena. Illito saw that Dr. Black was trying to make sure the commander would be okay. On the plus side, it seemed that Illito had been right in saying that S’reena’s breathing wasn’t a serious issue. Or, at least, it wasn’t the most serious issue.
“Don’t we need to get her to the sickbay?” asked Illito.
“I don’t see how we can, for all we know the Maquis have taken over all the rest of the ship,” replied one of the instructors, Illito wasn’t sure who.
“But the Maquis sealed the doors shut. That implies that they were afraid that someone else would come in and interrupt them. And I’m guessing that they weren’t afraid of their own people.” Illito waited for someone to respond, knowing how much S’reena needed to be in the sickbay. While she was alive now, the sickbay had far more medical supplies, many of which were necessary for the commander’s continuing survival.

Gary replied "Yes Sir." He noticed that YrDis's skin wasn't turning mottled, as in an assimulation. "Are they on our side?"
YrDis nodded, staring at the doors to Engineering. "What's going on in Engineering, Cadet?"
"Engineering was held by the Maquis, but I put them all asleep with the fire suppression system, and switched the shackles from us to them. I need medicals help to wake them. Other than that, I've been making repairs, from sight to sight through the Jeffries tubes. It's an uphill battle, as we're still beign pounded by an electrical storm, and our shields aren't nearly as strong enough to protect us forever. I was just about to climb up and restore power to the Impulse engines to get us the *#%^ out of here." He immediately turned red. "Sorry Sir, The vulgarity was unintentional. It's just been a bit tense here."
"Very well, we need to reestablish control of the ship from engineering. Assist us." YrDis ordered, and the group entered the Engineering compartment.
Gary replied, "Control can be readily given to Auxillary control. You'll have more status boards to work with there, than we could display here without sacrificing needed Engineering programs."
OOC: I assume, knowing nothing about this class of vessel, that it has no battle bridge, but rather, and Auxilary control room like on Constitution class vessels.

YrDis thought, then agreed with the cadet. He was right, it would probably save time in the long run to use Auxilliary control, seeing as things were already configured there to run the ship. He was about to turn and walk, but then looked back at the cadet. "Owens, I don't suppose that the transporters are working, are they?" The cadet nodded affirmatively. The counsellor smiled contentedly. He was getting tired of climbing around the ship. "Computer, beam all personel at Deck 15, section 12 to Auxilliary Control." The corridor outside Engineering faded from view, to be replaced by the cramped confines of their destination. YrDis put the Security cadets onto the Tactical Station and Sensors, then turned to Owens. "Mr. Owens, please take the navigation console for now and report on ship status, including any other ships nearby." <Cadet Owens> YrDis sat down in the command chair, accessed the internal sensors and scanned the bridge. Beings seemed to be moving around slowly on the bridge, while a few more were lying on the floor and not moving. On the high side of things, the ones who were moving were all wearing Starfleet comm badges. YrDis decided to get things moving and tapped his communicator. "Commander Blayne to bridge, respond please..." <anyone on the bridge> (OOC If you're interested, there is a nice site at asdb.siwiak.com/intrepid.html that shows what the interior of an Intrepid class might be like. I use it if I want to find out where something is on the ship. Unfortunately, it doesn't show an auxilliary bridge anywhere, but I think that it's silly for the ship to not have something like that, so *poof*, an auxilliary bridge appears ;D)

“Commander Blayne to bridge, respond please...”
Illito looked around and noticed that everyone else seemed to be busy. She was the only one not doing anything useful, assuming, of course, that trying to pick a fight counted as not useful. Even if she would be able to do something if she managed to convince that they should take the risk and bring Commander Hope to sickbay.
“Cadet Tintagel here.”
“What’s your status?” Blayne asked.
“We seem to be fine. Cadet Paris woke up first from the gas, and managed to wake everyone else. The Maquis have been apprehended.” Illito paused, then decided that she had to ask. “Do you know if we could safely get someone from the bridge to sickbay? I don’t know if you are in control of the transporters, but if not... Is there a clear path, to sickbay? Without any chance of running into the Maquis?” Illito waited a little longer, then decided, after glancing at the baby Zoë was protectively guarding, to add something. “I don’t suppose you know someone who would be willing to take care of a baby for a while, do you?” she asked.
Illito waited for Blayne to respond, wanting the transporters to be working. It would make moving the commander quite a bit easier.

Michael overheard the conversation between Blayne and Tintagel. "Ms Tintagel this is Dr Hope," he interjected, "if you ask my wife, she could care for the baby. Though she is Romulan I have no doubt she can nurse an alien baby. We have an infant daughter who's still nursing." He exchanged glances with the engineering cadet and Commander Blayne. "Transporters are operational, but if you can avoid using them you should. Last time I left sickbay, it was untaken by Maquis but I cannot speak for the current situation as I do not know."
He paused yet again. "What is the condition of the baby? And what is the seriousness of the injury, can Dr Black not take care of it?" He was still unaware of the serious condition of his wife, though by now he had the frightening feeling that someone was hiding something from him.

Cadet Peters takes over ops as soon as he is awake again. He finds the maquis leader is still on a channel waiting to know what is going on.
“Nothing, sir, we are fine here. We have taken the ship. We will be at your side soon.” He says trying to deceive the leader. He figures it will give them an advantage over the maquis, and that his side can use any help they can get. The leader signs off, and he sends a message to helm telling them what they need to do.
The maquis have been nothing but trouble from the start. Cadet Werts headed down to see how she could help the children. It wouldn’t be an easy rescue, but she had to try something. Heading toward the Jeffries tubes and into the maze of tunnels, she quickly makes a plan.
Once there, she does a sensor sweep to see how many of them there really are, and to see if her plan will work. She thinks it will, and heads in quietly to try and rescue them. She tackles the first two guards easy, and heads for the next set using the children as cover, which isn’t easy. As she goes toward them she is spotted by one of the other sets, and gets stunned.

Angel saw that cadet Peters had sent her a message. It said," Cadet Paris, we are not going back to the planet and I need you to change course. We will be joining the Freedom, in which we will be trying to decieve the Maquis."
Paris grinned at the chance to change course. She wrote a message to cadet Peters, "We are changing couse now, but are you sure we should go and find the Maquis? I personally have had enough of the maquis, especially after the little disagreement between Arina and myself."
She looked over at her instructor and told him what cadet Peters had asked her to do.
Cadet Peters got the message from Paris and read it. He replied and said, "Yes I am sure that I want to go to the Maquis. I understand your new dislike toward the Maquis, but we need to finish our mission like it or not. I have talked to the Maquis leader, and he thinks the maquis have the ship. That should help us, and not have a battle between the ships."
Angel got the message with relief, glad that she didn't have to fight anymore of the Maquis for the moment. She decided that even though she didn't want to confront the Maquis again, she would follow orders. Her thoughts turned to her console as she silently flew the ship, with dread in her heart, toward the Maquis ship.

Illito paused, not sure whether or not to tell Michael. She figured that it would be better if he just knew the truth, she had never been one for concealing information from people for their own good. “Your wife, Commander Hope, has been hit with a phaser blast. Dr. Black was able to keep her alive,” Illito decided not to mention the fact that S’reena had been dead for a little bit, that information was not relevant at this time.
“Her condition is currently stabilized, but we need to get her to sickbay, preferably as soon as we can. So, if Commander Hope, myself, and Dr. Black can be beamed to sickbay, that would be much appreciated. The baby is fine, though he really isn’t that much of a baby, I guess. My estimation of his age would be about five and a half, and he is human. I suppose he might be a little hungry, but I’m sure Zoë can replicate him something.” Illito had the impression that Dr. Hope was no longer listening to her, so she stopped talking and moved closer to Dr. Black and the commander. “We’re ready for transport when you are,” she said.

Finally waking up in the ready room, Ensign Randell finds she is hurt really bad, and can hardly move. She wonders exactly what will happen to her. The last thing she can remember is hearing a hissing sound, and then waking up hurting, to a pain completely unbareable. She looks down and finds blood, and a ton of it. She lets out a loud blood curtling scream, as if she is terrified, and finds herself alone.

Illito heard a scream, as if someone was in pain. She was momentarily surprised that she seemed to be the only one who noticed, her hearing was usually worse than that of humans. It seemed to her that the others, if they had noticed, had probably deliberately blocked out the noise, convinced that it had never really existed, that it had just been their over-active imagination. Illito hoped the scream had really existed, and that she wasn’t just hearing things. Though she had never thought she had enough of an imagination to make up screams.
“I have to take care of something else.” Illito spoke to Dr. Black. “I’ll walk down to sickbay when I’m done.”
Illito watched as Dr. Black carefully looked her over, then nodded. “Dr. Black to Counselor Blayne, please do not beam up Cadet Tintagel.”
“Understood,” replied Blayne.
Illito nodded in thanks to Dr. Black, and, grabbing her medkit, hurried off after where she thought the scream had originated. Entering the ready room, Illito glanced down at the Ensign, who still seemed to be conscious.
“I’m going to give you something for the pain,” Illito explained carefully, taking a small bit of Rexalin out of the medkit. “That should be enough, but tell me if it isn’t.”
The Ensign nodded, then her expression relaxed as the pain left her. Her patient no longer feeling agony, Illito looked at the source of all the blood. The Ensign’s leg appeared to be badly cut. Illito sighed, and tapped her commbadge. “Cadet Tintagel to Counselor Blayne, can I get a transporter for me and the person I’m touching to sickbay?”
“I’m sorry Cadet,” Blayne responded. “But the transporters don’t seem to be working now. I was able to get Dr. Black and Commander Hope there safely though.”
“Let me know the instant the transporters are back on line, please,” Illito asked.
“Okay,” replied Blayne. “But it might be a while.”
“Understood. Tintagel out.” Shoot, Illito thought. That meant she was going to have to deal with this on her own. Illito looked down at the Ensign.
“I’m going to need you to help me,” Illito said, in part because she thought that it might help the Ensign deal with the wait, and in part because Illito thought that they might actually do some good.
The Ensign nodded weakly.

A lady enters the ready room, she glances down at her.
“I’m going to give you something for the pain,” she explains carefully, taking a small bit of something out of the medkit. “That should be enough, but tell me if it isn’t.”
She nods, then her expression relaxed as the pain leaves her. She is no longer feeling agony, the cardassian lady looks at the source of all the blood. Apparently her leg appears to be badly cut. The cardassian sighs, and taps her commbadge.
“Let me know the instant the transporters are back on line, please,” Illito asks.
“Okay,” replied Blayne. “But it might be a while.”
“Understood. Tintagel out.” Illito looks down her, and things look as if they will be better, but not good.
“I’m going to need you to help me,” Illito says. She nods weakly.
"Just tell me what I have to do to help you." She says hoping they will be rescued, and not stranded without the use of a transporter.
"Just try to stay conscious no matter how tired you get. I am going to try and seal the wound, so you won't bleed to death." Illito says, and she nods hopefully.

Jason was relieved when he dematerialized and then reappeared in Sickbay, and was happy to see that Commander Hope had been beamed over with him.
Both Rachel and Matai looked over they appeared. They were surprised, with looks of question in their eyes. He looked over at them. "Help me get her to the surgical bed."
As they bent down, picking her up and carrying her over to the bed, Rachel asked "What happened to her?"
"Well, first she was shot and died. Then I managed to just barely resusitate her when I had to pump the room full of anesthezine."
"Oh my!" Matai exclaimed as they neared the bed.
"Yeah, and Romulans and anesthezine don't mix very well," Jason said as he placed her done on the bed.
Rachel went to the diagnostic console. "Especially one that was just brought back from the dead. Her condition is similar that of right after a mild heart-attack.
"5 CCs Inaprovaline," Jason said, holding out his hand, waiting for the hypospray.
Rachel quickly retrieved it and placed it in his hand. He pressed it to S'reena's neck, and the medication went into her neck with a hiss.
"Her condition is improving," Matai said from the console.
After a few minutes, S'reena opened her eyes again. Jason leaned over her and smiled. "Welcome back to the world of the Living, Commander."

YrDis had relaxed slightly. It seemed that the Hanson was back in Federation hands. The primary defensive systems seemed to be operating again, the ship had engines and power and the Maquis seemed to be mostly under control. Unfortunately, as near as he could tell, he was presently the senior officer aboard, as long as S'Reena was wounded and the captain was off with the Maquis. It still baffled him why the captain would do that, but he hadn't had time to really analyze the situation.
Well, he had to make sure the ship was safe, so his next move would be to consolidate operations on the bridge. Personel were scattered all over due to the Maquis threat. Now that it was over, it was time to get the ship moving again. YrDis activated the ship wide comm and began speaking. "This is Commander Blayne. The Maquis aboard ship have been neutralized. Those who are capable, please report to your duty stations as quickly as possible. Senior officers report to the bridge. Blayne out."
Then he looked at the personel who were with him in the auxilliary bridge and addressed the Borg. "I think that the ship is safe for now. Thanks for your help, but I think that you should return to the planet now." The four Borg quickly disappeared.
Then YrDis turned to the two Security cadets. "I'd like the two of you to go to the Tactical office and organize a sweep of the ship, looking for Maquis or any wounded who are aboard. Understood?" The two of them nodded and made their way to the door.
Then he turned to Dr. Hope, and YrDis could see the accusation in his eyes. "Doctor, I'm sorry that I hid your wife's condition from you, but I badly needed your help. Please go to Sickbay and see to S'Reena." Michael Hope was out the door before he could finish talking.
Then the counsellor turned to Cadet Owens. "Cadet, you have done an outstanding job so far. I would like you to come to the bridge with me to man the engineering station and oversee repairs to the ship."
<Cadet Owens>
The two of them left Auxilliary control and made their way to the bridge.
