--Holodeck 3, SB Conqueror--
It has already been several days from the time when the USS Hanson arrived back to SB Conqueror. During that time, both the cadets and instructors had enough time to get some rest and recuperate. Felix was standing on a stage of the exact replica of the graduation hall from Starfleet academy on Earth. All of the Instructors of the USS Hanson were seated in the back of the stage.
Admiral McCormick was standing behind the speaker both which was located in the center of the stage, Felix was standing on her right side and next to him was a table which contained academy awards and rank pips for the future officers. In the first row bellow the stage the Cadets of the USS Hanson were seated. The second and third rows were reserved for high ranking federation officials and ambassadors and any other visiting dignitaries. And all the other rows were for starbases officers, civilians and family member of the cadets.
A few moments later the hall went silent as Admiral McCormick began her speech.
<Tag Karynn>
After she was done she stepped aside to give Felix his chance for a speech for he was the one who spent most time with the cadets during their "visit" on the Raptor. The Raptor was now docked with the Starbase and repair crews were swarming all over it as it had been decided to place the old ship in a museum.
"Ladies and gentlemen"; Felix started, "Cadets and officers, ambassadors and all other foreign dignitaries and family members. I welcome you again to the graduation ceremony for cadets of the USS Hanson. But before I start my speech and we get on with the party"; he smiled for a moment, "I wish to commend an officer, who was once wrongfully accused of being a traitor, when it turned out all that she was a victim of circumstances, an officer who risked her life to slow the USS Hanson down in order to allow the Raptor to catch up with her, an officer who has suffered a life threatening injury during her attempt to sabotage the Hanson, a former and future First Officer of the USS Hanson, Commander 1st Class S'reena Hope.", he ended and started clapping his hands, a few moments later all of the audience and the instructors of the Hanson followed his lead and applauded to the touched Commander Hope
"Now to get back to the thing for which we are really here", he said, "It is my great honor to announce the graduates who will then come to the stage where they will receive their rank pips and a graduation certificate and formally be promoted to their new officer ranks."; he finished
"Cadet Ariennye Nokomis", Felix called
A few moments later cadet Nokomis Arrived on the stage. Felix shook her hand and handed her graduation certificate.
"You are hereby promoted to Ensign", he said as he attached the pip to the collar of her uniform, "Congratulations, Ensign Nokomis", he said as the audience and the instructors applauded and Nokomis left the stage to get back to her seat
"Cadet Richard Parson", he called
A few moments later another cadet climbed on the stage, this time it was a male. Felix shook his hand and handed him the graduation certificate.
"You are hereby promoted to lieutenant jg.", Felix said as he attached the two pips, one gold one black to the new officers collar, "Congratulations Lieutenant Jg. Parson", Felix said as he shook the young man's hand once more and the audience applauded as the new lieutenant was leaving the stage and getting back to his seat
"Cadet T'Brel Peers", Felix called
This time a half Vulcan, half Trill cadet climbed on the stage. Felix handed him the graduation certificate and shook his hand. "You have a strong grip cadet", Felix whispered silently to the cadet with a smile.
"You are hereby promoted to the rank of Ensign", Felix said as he attached the single gold pip to the cadet's collar, "Congratulations, Ensign Peers", he said as he shook his hand again and the audience applauded, "But that is not all", Felix added, "For your dedication, hard work and excellent performance, you are hereby awarded the Academy Ribbon", Felix said as he attached the award to the young half Vulcans chest, "Congratulations Ensign, you should be proud of yourself", he said as he shook his hand once more and the audience applauded louder then before
After Ensign Peers left the stage it was time for the next graduate, "Cadet Daya", Felix called
A few moments later cadet Daya arrived on the stage. Felix handed him the graduation certificate and they shook hands while the audience applauded.
"You are hereby promoted to the rank of Ensign", he said as he attached the single gold pip to the new officer's collar, "Congratulations Ensign Daya", he said as the audience applauded and they shook hands again, "But I say again that is not all. I am proud to award you the Academy Ribbon for your excellent performance during the training mission, congratulations Ensign", Felix said as he attached the Ribbon to the officer's uniform and the audience applauded again louder than before
After Ensign Daya left the stage and returned to his seat Felix called out for the last of the cadets who were graduating, "Cadet Jonathan Kirk"
After a few moments cadet Kirk arrived on the stage. Felix handed him the graduation certificate and shook his hand while the audience applauded.
"You are hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant jg.", Felix said as he attached one gold and one black pip to the officer's collar, "Congratulations Lieutenant jg. Kirk", he said as he shook his hand again and the audience applauded, "And now it is my great honor to present cadet Kirk with the highest award the academy has to offer for his extreme contributions during the training mission which go far beyond the call of duty and anyone’s expectations from even an officer not to mention a cadet. Cadet Kirk I hereby award you the Academy Star of Excellence", Felix said as he attached the ribbon to his chest and handed him the box containing the award, "Congratulations cadet"; he said as he shook Kirk's hand once again. The audience applauded louder then ever before and the sound was amplified by the holodeck to become 10 times louder then it actually was creating an applause which's noise could bring down a building
"Now cadet"; Felix said, "You are expected to give a speech"; Felix said as he moved giving Kirk the chance to have his speech
<Tag Kirk>
After Kirk was done Felix joined in the applause before he returned to his place.
"I would like to thank all of you for being here today and joining us in this happy event. Now I call you all to join us at the banquet which is being held on the Star Fleet Academy Entrance Hall. Let us celebrate this wonderful day", he said finishing his speech
After a short final applause everyone started to leave the graduation hall and head for the feast.

"Now cadet"; Felix said, "You are expected to give a speech"; Felix said as he moved giving Kirk the chance to have his speech
"What?" Kirk said completely surprised.
Commander Savali gestured to the podium and Kirk stepped up to it tapping the microphone.
"I can say I was honestly not prepared for this," Kirk said setting down the box Savali had handed him, "I am not one to to say anything too profound, so I will just be brief. If not for everybody who worked their butts off, we would have never taken back the Hanson. I want to thank all the instructors who showed faith in us and for taking our suggestions, letting us lead boarding teams, and trusting our technical expertise in the face of such a crisis. Finally, to the men and women who gave their lives for us to be able to be here today. I know I will never forget them, or their sacrifice."
Kirk waited a second before finishing up. He looked down at Daya was pretending to be asleep. Kirk laughed when he was his new friend pretend to wake up.
"Alright guys, let party!" Kirk said stepping away from the microphone.
After Kirk was done Felix joined in the applause before he returned to his place.
Kirk took his seat next to Daya who gave him a slug in the arm as he sat down.
"What a tear jerker." Daya said laughing to himself.
I would like to thank all of you for being here today and joining us in this happy event. Now I call you all to join us at the banquet which is being held on the Star Fleet Academy Entrance Hall. Let us celebrate this wonderful day", he said finishing his speech
After a short final applause everyone started to leave the graduation hall and head for the feast.
"I guess I owe you that drink now?" Kirk asked Daya

While Kirk was giving his speech, Daya looked up at him with pride of finding a new friend. He decided he would "sleep" during his speech, and awoke with a start when Kirk was done.
He smiled at Kirk and laughed with him as he came down from the stage.
"Well, i hope we get stationed close to one another friend"

T'Brel was amused at the speech, that well now Lt. jg Jonathan Kirk had given. He saw that Kirk was a bit nervous, but T'Brel just smiled at him trying to give him support.
When he was done T'Brel was the first to start applauding. He was glad that thier mission was now finally over.
"Well guys congrates," T'Brel said as he smiled at his new found friends.

S'reena sat to the side of the row of chairs, leaning back in her hover chair and trying to be invisible. She didn't want any attention, and at first hadn't even wanted to come to the graduation ceremony. However, Michael had talked her into coming after all, as he thought she owed it to her fellow crewmembers, and to the cadets.
S'reena had argued that Starfleet had falsely accused her, even though Commander Savali in the end had cleared her. But still, the incident would always leave a smear on her name, and her record, even though she was indeed cleared of all charges.
She listened to Admiral McCormick's speech with only a half lear, and shrank back when Felix addressed her and lauded her. Her complexion turned a very dark shade of green as she tried to make herself even more invisible. However, with both Michael and Jason standing beside her, as well as Noah Bates having maneuvred his own wheelchair beside hers, that act was quite impossible.
"Shhht," she hissed at the three men, fighting down another urge to throw up, "I want to listen!" She hated morning sickness, but right now it wasn't only that. She was nervous, because she still didn't know whether she would get her old position back. While Felix had assured her she would, she'd still have to receive word from the admiralty and she dreaded that news.
S'reena was glad when the ceremony was finally over, and turned her chair around to leave the area and go back home to her quarters to rest. The hoverchair jerked to a halt when someone engaged it's brakes. "You're staying," Michael told her sternly, "and you're going to enjoy the party to it's fullest. Isn't she gentle men?" He turned to Noah and Jason, and then beckoned to the cadets and other instructors. "It is their day, and you will stay to celebrate it."
S'reena grunted, and nodded reluctantly. She felt sick, somewhat humilated and she wanted nothing better than to return to her quarters and get some sleep. For the last days, when pretending to be on the invaders' side, she hadn't really gotten much sleep, nor the past days in sickbay.
"Very well," she said, "but only if someone gets me a drink....and without alcohol or synthehol if you please!"

"Well, i hope we get stationed close to one another friend"
"You and me both Daya."
Well guys congrats," T'Brel said as he smiled at his new found friends
"Same to you T'Brel." Kirk said as he patten the man on the back.
The crowd started to mingle as he made his way towards some of the instructors. He found Commander Harash-Kyat first.
"Thanks for all your help Commander." Kirk said shaking the man's hand, "I cannot start to tell you how much I have learned from you."
<Tag Harash-Kyat>
Once Harash-Kyat finished talking Kirk made his way over to Commander Savali who was speaking with some of the other instructors.
"Commander," Kirk said extending out his hand, "Thanks for everything. Do you have any idea where I might be assigned to next?"
<Tag Commander Savali>
"I understand. Thanks again." Kirk said.
He now made his way over to Doctor Black. He had avoided talking to him since getting back to the starbase. Kirk had the feeling that the good doctor wasn't too happy with him.
"Doctor," Kirk said approaching Black, "I'm sorry we got off on a bad foot." Kirk wanted to say something about his actions in sickbay with Admiral McCormick, but he could not find the words.
<Tag Doctor Black>
As Kirk walked around he said hello to several other cadets and officers. He finally came face to face with the person he had been waiting to see the entire time. She had just arrived on a transport from Earth that day.
"Mom." Kirk said softly.
He ran over and gave the woman a big hug. It had been years since he last saw his mother, it was actually the last thing his 'free' eyes had seen. He was assimilated by the Borg right infront of his mother trying to protect her from them. Once he was rescued word was sent to his mother, but no transmissions or letters ever followed from her son. She had actually caught wind of the graduation from one of the other cadet's family members back on Earth.
Tears ran from Kirk's face as he was embraced by his mother.
"Mom, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He said crying.
"I know dear, I know." She assured him it was alright.
The two pull apart at arms length to look at each other. Kirk's mother noticed the large implant above his left eye brow and felt tears fall from her eyes.
"Your father would be very proud of you Jonathan," She said breaking the silence, "Your defiantly a Kirk, you wear that uniform well."
Kirk hugged his mother again.
"Where are you going to be stationed?" She asked.
"I don't know yet. I promise to write though."
Kirk's mother smiled. She saw the two cadets Kirk was sitting with walk up. Kirk noticed her mother gaze wonder and he turned around to face Daya and T'Brel.
"Mom I want you to meet Daya, and T'Brel Peers."
<Tag Daya, T'brel>
"You boys run along now and have a good time," Kirk's mother said, "I will meet you back in your quarters."
"Are you sure mom?"
"Yes go right ahead. I need to send a message to your sister anyways and let her know I made it here in once piece."
"Tell her I said hi."
"I will."
Kirk leaned in and kissed his mother on the cheek then he turned with his friends and rejoined the party. Kirk's mother watch with enormous pride as her son walked away.

Daya was not really to excited to get up and "mingle" with the others, right now he was tired, it seems the mission had finally caught up with him. He couldnt sleep before the ceremony came, but now that it was over, he was getting really tired.
He stood up and looked over at Kirk, who seemed to be talking with his mom.
Kirk's mother smiled. She saw the two cadets Kirk was sitting with walk up. Kirk noticed her mother gaze wonder and he turned around to face Daya and T'Brel.
"Mom I want you to meet Daya, and T'Brel Peers."
"Wha? oh, i mean hi mom"
"You boys run along now and have a good time," Kirk's mother said, "I will meet you back in your quarters."
Daya smacked Kirk on the shoulder, then glared at him. " Why do you do that? i hate meeting moms"

Karynn took her place behind the dais and spoke from the heart.
"Since returning to Conqueror, I've learned the details of how all of you went above and beyond the call of duty. The way Commander Savali stepped in at a most critical time and led with skill is something I will not forget. The cleverness of Commander Hope which bought us valuable time and the sacrifices she made astound me. The resourcefulness of Commander Bates who effectively sabotaged the Hanson's systems right under the noses of our captors impresses me beyond words."
"Overall, this mission has touched me very personally in many ways." She glanced over at Harash-Kyat, Felix Savali and S'reena and smiled. "Rekindling old friendships..." Looking over at the cadets she added, "... and making new ones. There's no doubt in my mind that we who were held on the Hanson would have perished if not for the valiant acts of these graduates. For that, you have my eternal gratitude. I find myself in a... unique position for instead of my usual role of critiquing the cadets, I am instead deeply indebted to each and every one of you." It was then that Admiral McCormick saluted the seated cadets. They were all mindful of this symbolic act for they were not at attention or standing in ranks and yet, the Admiral saluted them showing extraordinary respect for what they'd accomplished.
"All of you will make splendid additions to the ships in the fleet," McCormick added, "And I fully expect to hear great things about you - and even serve with some of you as future Command Officers. There's no limit to what you can accomplish - my sincerest congratulations to all of you."
With that, Karynn left the podium and shook each graduate's hand, pausing to give them a personal thank you before returning to her seat next to Commander Savali.

"It all goes in a days work cadet"; Felix said with a smile, "As for where you'll be assigned, am afraid I can't help you much. You'll just need to wait for the transfer orders.", Felix said
After finishing the conversation with Kirk, Felix received a message from OPS.
=/\=OPS to Cmdr. Savali=/\=
=/\=Savali here, go ahead=/\=
=/\=There is a priority 1 message incoming from Starfleet command for you sir=/\=
=/\=I'll take it here=/\=, he said
=/\=Understood, ops out=/\=
Felix stepped away from the crowed and asked for the arch.
"Computer, arch", Felix said and the arch appeared
Felix stepped over to the console and the familiar face of Admiral Lin appeared on the screen.
"Admiral, what can I do for you", Felix asked
"We need you on the Victory - C commander"; Magellan said
"What do you mean need me?", Felix asked
"They need a first officer and I am assigning you there as of now. Now get yourself into a transport and get to the Victory I’m transmitting the coordinates to SB Ops", Lin said
"Understood admiral", Felix said
"Good luck, commander"; Magellan said as he closed the link
Well so much for settling down, Felix thought as he closed the arch. Time to go again. Felix got back to the party and managed to round up most of the cadets and instructors including Admiral McCormick.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your mingling with the crowds"; Felix said smiling, "But as I have to leave right away it was only polite to say my goodbye to you all.", he paused, "Yep, you heard me right I'm leaving you, this has been an excellent mission and all of you are excellent officers", he resumed, "But Starfleet has reassigned me to the USS Victory C and I am to leave right away and join the ship", he said, "It was a privilege to serve with you all.", he finished

After he said his goodbyes he left the holodeck and went to his quarters to pick up Amilea.
--Later in the shuttle bay--
When Felix arrived to the shuttle bay he was met by an old friend, Lt. J. Johnson, a shuttle pilot.
"Hi there lieutenant", Felix greeted him
"What do you mean lieutenant", Johnson said as he turned and Felix could see another pip on his collar
"Pardon me Cmdr.", Felix smiled and so did Johnson
"Yea i got myself a promotion after I chauffeured some admirals out of a tight spot with some renegade Jem'Hadar who were left stranded in the Alpha Quadrant."; Johnson said
"Nice"; Felix said
"I see you got yourself a little friend there", Johnson said pointing to Amilea
"Got married, wife had a child", Felix said, "Her name is Amilea", he finished
"Nice, hi there little girl", Johnson said in a soft voice
"Anyway we should be getting under way then cmdr."; Johnson said, "I've got something special for your ride", he added, "A top secret project, provided by SFI as a thank you note for returning the Hanson intact and capturing some of the Romulans alive for interrogation", Johnson added
"Well how nice of them", Felix said, "So how fast does this baby go?", Felix asked
"Oh only till warp 9.6 but i might be able to push her to warp 9.8", he said smiling
"Ah, well then let's hit the pedal to the metal"; Felix said as they both smiled and entered the shuttle and getting ready for departure
=/\=This is Conqueror control, shuttle Thunderbolt departure permission granted=/\=
=/\=Understood, shuttle Thunderbolt out=/\=
"Thunderbolt, eh?", Felix asked smiling
"Well what can I say, I couldn't resist", Johnson said before they both started laughing, "And we're off", Johnson added as the shuttle left Conqueror

Commander Savli's sudden departure from the party was a shock to the entire crowd.
Orders are orders, Kirk thought to himself as Savali left the graduation party.
Kirk noticed every now and again the Admiral would shoot him a look. He didn't really understand what it meant, and the fact that he was no longer hearing her voice anymore made him that much more curious. Whatever trick she is using it certainly is working.
The sudden appearance of Kirk's mother was something that was not sitting well with him. He wanted deeply to open up to her and let her know everything that had happened to him during his time with the Borg, and the time after his rescue. The truth was shame, he was purely ashamed of what the Borg had made him do. He actually felt there was not a single person in the entire galaxy who could understand him and be able to help pick up the mountains that ride daily on his shoulders.
Kirk was not really in a mood to celebrate anymore. He had withdrawn back to his cold and emotionless exterior. He watched as his new friends were laughing and having fun with each other and the instructors. Kirk, once again, felt like the outsider looking in.
"Penny for your thoughts?"
Kirk looked to his left and immediately stood at attention as Admiral McCormick stood next to him.
"At ease Lieutenant." She said with a soft comforting voice.

Daya stood in the back, looking at all the cadets and instructions, he looked down at his shoulder, hoping to get a look at the pip on his neck, but no such luck. He sighed gently and leaned against a wall, drinking from a punch glass.
He saw Kirk standing with himself, obvioulsy in thought, "hes know i'm here for him" he thought to himself, then watched as Admiral McCormick walked over to Kirk's side, and stood talking with him.
Daya stayed against the wall for awhile, then pushed himself off and left the holodeck, without saying a word to anyone. He walked down the hall to his quarters and went inside, and started packing all his stuff.
There wasnt much left for him to do, since he didnt really unpack when he came on the mission, and he wanst in his quarters most of the time.
Daya's bag was laying on the end of his bed, and hhe had just finished placing his clothes in it. He sat down on his bed, and looked around. He shook his head at the thought of going back in the holodeck, and left for the lounge instead.

Post by Karynn McCormick on Aug 31, 2005 8:25:34 GMT
Karynn loved these gatherings. She despised the ceremony attached to the ritual of graduation, but she truly enjoyed the banquet after wards. She snaked through the crowds of people meeting families of the former cadets and eating. Tante Maria always provided several platefuls of double chocolate éclairs and Karynn made sure at least two of them found their way to her plate.
Finishing her chocolate indulgences, she found S’reena Hope and her husband Michael. Approaching them both, she shook each of their hands, making certain her grip on S’reena’s hand was gentle so as not to cause her any pain.
“There are not enough words to express my gratitude for all you did, Commander. I am livid over what our captors did to you,” she said angrily. “But it pleases me that you are recovering.” She sat down in a chair beside S’reena so that she could be at eye-level with her. “I also want you to know that I’ve spoken with Section 47 Headquarters and it’s only a matter of time before you are cleared of all suspicion. It seems the only compromising information they had on you was concerning a routine conversation you had once with Theice. Starfleet Intel had been suspicious of him for quite some time and tracked his movements and personal logs. He happened to mention you in one of those logs… and that was the extent of your ‘crime’. I’ve relayed to the Section Admiral how you helped sabotage the Romulan’s attempt to steal the Hanson and the injuries you’ve suffered for it. It won’t be long before your record will be completely clean... well, for this incident, anyway,” she added with a wink.
A relieved S’reena allowed a small smile to cross her lips. “Thank you, Admiral.”
“I have a… personal request of you and your husband,” Karynn said shyly. “I would like to be able to visit your children from time to time, if that’s alright with you.”
<S’reena>
Leaving the Hope’s company, McCormick found a huddle where the cadets were thumping each other’s backs and reliving bits of the training mission. She sidled up behind Daya and T’Brel, breaking up their boisterous laughter. Parsons fought the desire to come to attention. Ariennye stopped mid-bite of something on her overflowing plate of food as the Admiral spoke.
“At ease, all of you,” she said smiling at them. She spent a few moments conveying her gratitude, extolling their talents and assuring them they would all be coveted officers in the fleet. She encouraged each of them to stay in contact with her so she could share in their future achievements. McCormick always felt a sense of pride in all of the Academy’s graduates. Taking on a playful tone she added, “I want all of you to have fun… that’s an order… especially you, Daya. You need to work on being less serious,” she said, grinning widely.
It was then McCormick noticed a lone figure, slightly removed from the group, a deep, brooding look on his face.
“Penny for your thoughts?"
Kirk looked to his left and immediately stood at attention as Admiral McCormick stood next to him.
"At ease, Lieutenant." she said with a soft comforting voice. She gestured toward the door. “Let’s go for a walk, shall we?”
They moved fluidly through the crowd pausing several times while McCormick shook hands with dignitaries and family members until they reached the exit. From there, they walked in silence all the way to the arboretum. “This is my favorite place on Conqueror,” Karynn spoke, breaking the silence once they’d entered. She ushered Kirk to a bench and they both sat down. Kirk, nervous and dreading what the Admiral might say, drew circles in the loose earth with the toe of his boot. He couldn’t seem to find a comfortable spot for his hands so he continually changed his placement of them; first, folded in his lap, then on either side of him, then patting nervously on his thighs. He sat there jittering for what seemed to him an inordinately long time before McCormick spoke again. When she did, it was with a tone of voice he’d not heard from her before. It was softer, more maternal and immersed in compassion. “While I was… um… regenerating… I saw the images that haunt you. Because of our link, I now understand what you must be going through each and every waking moment. The pain of guilt… the remorse… it’s unfathomable.”
She closed her eyes, clearly seeing again the image of the small girl Kirk had assimilated. And, because of his proximity to Karynn, Jonathan saw it too. The pangs of sorrow enveloped him as he relived that horrible moment for the millionth time. A tear welled in his eye and he moved his hand quickly to brush it away as it fell down his cheek. As he did, he looked to see if the Admiral had caught him being weak. When he did, he saw that she too was crying.
“I understand how difficult it was for you to do what you did for me… and I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to thank you.” She took his hand in hers and their thoughts flowed freely. Words were no longer necessary as this small, intimate ‘collective’ communed. And, for the first time in a long time, Kirk felt somewhat redeemed. Perhaps saving lives would eventually eradicate the nightmarish existence he unwillingly participated in. Deep within him, a sprig of hope grew that he might someday put his hellish memories behind him permanently.
“I think I should really be thanking you,” Jonathan projected in her mind.
Releasing his hand and patting it in a motherly fashion, Karynn smiled knowingly. “You know I don’t need any thanks. As a matter of fact, I’m a bit worried because now, you know everything about me. I’m not sure I like that… I’ve always cherished the mystery surrounding me.” She chuckled lightly.
Kirk smiled, “I promise not to abuse my power. But there’s one more thing I’d like to do before I leave and there’s no way you can refuse me.”
“What’s that?” questioned Karynn.
“Though you’ve already had two, I know you’d really love to have another double chocolate éclair.” He reached out his hand and helped her up. “Let’s go… Tante Maria’s closes in about an hour… my treat.”
Karynn smirked deviously, “You’re a little late. You’ve already received your pips and been awarded the Star. I’m used to getting my chocolate bribes before graduation.” She winked and smiled then said with sincerity, “Don’t you dare tell a soul I’ve had three!”

After Kirk's meeting with Admiral McCormick he had felt the weight of many mountain's being lifted off his back. His thoughts no longer carried to the ghosts of the past but now towards a bight light of the future.
Kirk entered his quarters to find him mother sitting on the couch crying. On the floor was a single PADD, something Kirk had not wanted his mother to see. The PADD contained details of his Borg activities, people he assimilated, attacks he made as a drone, repairs needed, and all the details of his rescue. The last day Kirk had entered the missions details into the PADD, it was those details that frightened his mother the most.
Stepping into the room the door closed behind Kirk and his mother approached him. She whipped the tears from her eyes before grabbing a hold of both his shoulders.
"You could have been killed by that man."
"I wasn't. He had no intention to kill."
Kirk's mother turned away in tears again, "That uniform has been a curse on this family since Great Grandfather was killed in action," She turned back around to face him again, "That is why don't want any of our family in Starfleet, you knew that!
Kirk walked past his mother into his bedroom and started to collect his things. He did not want to argue with his mother over this matter, he had made his choice in life and he intended on living it to it's fullest.
"I want you to come home, back to Earth and work there if you must."
Kirk didn't say anything to his mother he just kept packing his things. She walked in and turn him around from his packing.
"Did you hear what I said." She asked being a bit forceful.
"Yes I did," Kirk paused turning his back on his mother, "I don't want to have this argument with you. Besides, I am leaving for the USS Tiger-Shark tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" She sounded stunned at his words.
"Yes tomorrow. I just received my orders today before the graduation."
Kirk could tell his mother was a bit angry with him for being so blunt and stubborn.
"No matter what the Borg did to you, they could have at least taken that little bit of your Great Grandfather out of you." She said storming out of the room.
"Dammit!" Kirk yelled punching a hold in the wall at the same time.
He did not want to deal with his mother for so long. It was apart of the reason he did not bother to write. As much as she did not want to believe it, she had just the same amount of stubbornness in her as he did.
--------The Next Day-----------
Kirk made his way to the shuttle bay to meet T'Brel since both of them were heading off to the same ship they decided to leave together. Kirk had plenty of flight time, but he thought he would just let T'Brel drive this one out to the Tiger-Shark.
Stepping into the shuttle bay he saw Admiral McCormick standing near the shuttle himself and T'Brel were taking. Kirk approached the Admiral.
"Admiral." He said give her the most respect he could.
"Lieutenant," She said cracking a smile, "How are you doing today?"
"I could be better." He said coldly.
"Jonathan, I heard everything that happened last night."
Kirk took a deep breath, Karynn was much better at keeping her thoughts to herself. Kirk still had no idea how she was doing it, but it really didn't matter. As soon as he was a good distance from the starbase their communications would stop, but the feeling of the other would still be there.
Admiral McCormick held out a PADD for Kirk to take. Taking it in his hands he looked it over.
"I want you to read this on your trip to the Tiger-Shark. It's coded with your personal access code."
Kirk smiled. Setting down his bag he put the PADD inside of it's side pocket. T'Brel entered the shuttle bay breaking up the personal time between kirk and McCormick.
"I guess it's time to get underway then. Lead the way Ensign." Kirk said with a smile.
T'Brel turned to face him, "Your liking this too much already?"
"Your being a bit too emotional for a Vulcan." He snapped back.
"I am only half Vulcan." T'Brel said getting into the shuttle, "Your being too emotional for a Borg." He said from the pilots chair.
Kirk waved one last time to the Admiral before he boarded the shuttle. T'Brel fired the engines up and flew the craft out into space.
"Thanks for everything Karynn"
"Alright buddy," Kirk said patting T'Brel on the shoulder, "Lets go."
The small shuttle disappeared into the distance leaving a flash of light as the shuttle broke the light speed barrier.

S'reena didn't know where to look, as she was still getting way too much attention for her liking. Yet she appreciated it that the admiral took the time to personally inform her that her name would be cleared. S'reena also knew that it would take time for other crewmembers to forget that she'd ever been charged.
She was doubly surprised as McCormick asked her if she could visit her daughters. "Naturally admiral," she answered, smiling uncertainly, "I have heard that you have taken good care of them." Her smile widened as she gently patted her abdomen. "And it seems we have a third under way. Thanks to Tafv's quick thinking, the foetus has been saved and there was no damage done to it."
S'reena paused, now it was her turn to become shy. "Admiral, I would find it an honour if you would be godmother to this child, when it gets born."

(OOC: A bit of backposting here)
"Very well," S'reena said, "but only if someone gets me a drink....and without alcohol or synthehol if you please!"
Jason nodded, and went over to a replicator to retrieve what he intended, as it wouldn't be on the buffet table. "Computer, access my personal database."
"Database accessed," the computer replied almost instantly.
"Replicate selection 012," he said, and it appeared a few moments later. He brought it back over to S'reena. "Here Commander," he said holding it out. "It's a Native American tea meant to come the nerves."
<S'reena>
"Doctor," Kirk said approaching Black, "I'm sorry we got off on a bad foot." The new Lieutenant seemed to want to say something, but wasn't sure how to say it.
Jason put his hand on the young man's shoulder. "Don't worry, Lieutenant. All is forgiven. In retrospect, it was indeed the only way to truly save the Admiral, even though I may have had my objections."
