It had been a few days since the Hanson had docked back at Conqueror, and S'reena for one was very relieved to see this mission concluded. Not only had she spent the better part of it in sickbay and/or under surveilance, she had also gotten herself injured again on an away mission.
When she left Drew's office after the graduation ceremony, knowing that the communiqué from Assaillant would draw her CO back to his old home, S'reena also knew that he would leave her in command of the Hanson. Regardless of the orders that had been given after her trial. And she also vowed to herself to do anything in her power to live up to the orders given.
So far, she'd done well and had been an exemplary officer, even up to the point of staying in sickbay when she'd rather leave straight off. It was widely known that she disliked, even still almost feared sickbay.
Now, however she strolled around on Conqueror, pushing the buggy holding Jeisen forward. The other two of the triplets were staying with their father. On each side of the buggy walked a young girl. Four year old Yarna held on tightly to the handrail, while six year old Kahlan happily walked beside her mother, endlessly chattering about what she'd learned in school.
The Romulan officer merely smiled, checked on her young son and kept walking. They only stopped when they had reached Commander Noah Bates' temporary quarters. There, she knocked forcefully on the door. "Commander Bates, reveille!" she called, a mischievous smile on her face.

Daya had been walking around the Conqueror for the past few hours, stopping every so often to get a drink at some pub or restruant, just kinda mingling and enjoying his shoreleave, when he spotted Commander Hope in the distance, with her kids. "Ah, commander, its good to see you again." he said as he walked over to her.
<tag Hope>
"Its been a long time since i've even seen Commander Bates, i dont think i ever actually talked with him, do you mind if i tag along, perhaps give you some relief and company?"

"So this is San Fransisco", Beu-Pas thought as she started walking off the campus to StarFleet Academy. Looking around she noted the alien planet with a kind of strange aw. She'd visited this place a long time ago. But mainly all she knew about it had been from reading about it. With no assignment to fulfill at the moment. That fact left her at a good loss as to what to do with her time. A day with no given point to it, that fact had to be rectified some how. Site seeing was the first thing to cross her ming as for what she should do with her free time. But once more with her. Her site seeing had to have a true logical point behind it. Some thing in the site seeing had to make it well worth her time. Going to a museum and checking out the specs on older Federation ships was some thing she could do. But then just where could that really get her? Did she really need to know the information about these older ships, no longer in service? The only way her own logic could justify that. Was if she could ever some how make it back to her own time.

Location: Starbase Assailant
Walking into his temporary quarters, Drew let out a deep sigh. Falling back into one of the leather chairs in the middle of the room, he unzipped his uniform jacket and threw it onto the site next to him. Ordering a cup of tea from the portable replicater system, he keyed in a command to bring up one of the inbuilt computer systems.
Taking a slip of his tea, and savouring the flavour, he keyed in another series of commands that accessed the Station’s communication systems. Enjoying another gulp of his tea, he waited until his signal was acknowledged on the other end, after a few minutes, a familiar face appeared on the screen before.
“Admiral Drew,” Jason Reynolds said, “how are you enjoying Starbase Assailant?”
“I am not sure ‘enjoy’ is the right word Jason,” Drew said in a wiry voice, “things are worst here than what I had realised.”
“Sorry to hear that sir,” Jason replied, “things have been retentively quiet here since you left.”
Drew smiled at that, “makes a change.”
Jason shared the joke, Drew could tell just from quiet on the bridge that things were indeed more relaxed than usual on the Hanson. No doubt a good sign, for the last year, the Hanson crew had been working extremely hard, some rest and relaxation was just what they needed
“Is Commander Hope around?” Drew asked, getting to the point of his call.
“She isn’t currently aboard the ship, but I can raise her on Starbase Conqueror for you.”
“Thank you Commander,” Drew said, taking the chance to have another slip of his tea.
After a few minutes, the image on his screen changed from Jason to that of his First Officer, Commander S’reena Hope, like Jason, she seemed much more relaxed than the last time Drew had seen her.
“S’reena you look well,” Drew said.
“Thank you Admiral, I wish I could say the same about you,” S’reena replied, as usual getting straight to the point.
“Unfortunately, things haven’t really gone to plan here,” Drew said with a deep sigh, “Magellan is now missing, he took one of the shuttles and disappeared.”
“I am sorry to hear that,” S’reena said, concern for the First Fleet Commander in her voice, “do they know what is wrong with him yet?”
Drew shook his head in confusion.
“It’s something to do with the Lin symbiont, a personality clash of some kind.”
S’reena shared Drew’s confusion, the Trill culture was still largely a mystery to most off-worlders.
“Either way, we have to find him before he does something serious; I am going to be transferring my flag to the Jefferson to oversee the search operation.”
S’reena nodded her head in full agreement; she understood fully Drew’s loyalty to his old friend.
“But enough of that,” Drew said, wishing to forget about the challenges that lay ahead, “what’s happening on your end?”

"Nothing much really," S'reena answered, "I've been out to visit our old chief engineer, Noah Bates. You'll remember him..." She smiled at her commanding officer, hoping to cheer him up somewhat. "He's doing well, at least he looks healthier than before."
She narrowed her eyes in concern as she watched her CO, but forewent to comment on her worries for now. "I've also met up with Angel Paris today...you may remember her also. Bit of a naughty woman if I may say so, a prankster. Well, it seems our dear Operations chief has managed to tame her somewhat, and she's approximately four months pregnant now, by my guess. We met a new cadet today, a bright young woman named Dana Warrick."
She smiled, though it wasn't a very genuine smile. "Brelev will be thrilled to hear she'll be training this bright young mind." On the background, one of the triplets started crying. "Oh, Jayvee's having his troubles again. That, or he needs to be fed."
The Romulan first officer leaned closer to her viewscreen, her face showing the worry she felt now. "Admiral, please be careful? Don't get yourself into trouble...at least not so much that I can't come and get you out this time."

<pressing the comm display on Commander S'reena Hopes door>
"Permission to come in Ma'm" Vander replied, not knowing whether she would answer or abruptly send him back on his way. Hopefully this was a pleasant visit and he would like to meet this Commander because he was wanting to converse with the hanson crew on shoreleave so that he could see what was up.

S'reena looked up from her subspace conversation with her commanding officer. "Come in," she called, surprised to see an Andorian wearing an acting ensign's uniform walk in. "Ensign are you lost?" she querried, as she waved him over to the couch while telling her older children not to bother the officer-in-training.
"Kahlan take your siblings and go play in your own room for a while," she told her eldest daughter. She had left Jayvee in Noah's care for a while, knowing he'd want to spend some time with his godson.
"Please have a seat ensign, I will be with you shortly." She turned back to her conversation. "Admiral, as I said please be careful. Don't make me come after you and pull you out of trouble again." She smiled, knowing full well that usually it was him that had to get her out of trouble...and she still hadn't earned back his full trust in her, even though she knew he did value her as an officer and as first officer in particular. "I have a visitor now admiral, I have to sign off. It appears an acting ensign has gotten lost." She told him goodbye, and signed off.
"I apologize, I was talking to my commanding officer. I am Commander S'reena Hope, and I am quite certain you are not a Hanson cadet otherwise I would've known your name." She smiled encouragingly at the Andorian. "Who are you?"

<sitting down on the couch>
"The pleasantries are all mine Commander Hope, i wanted to say hi to anyone that was coming from the hanson on their shoreleave." vander replied. Looking much more welcome in the room he liked the smoothness of the couch, and felt like he was at home, and there was someone here to talk to him.
"My name is Vander Halthor, i am from the planet andoria, come from a modest backround and i am enjoying my time around here, you can say i am a bit lost though, dont know yet where to start." vander replied with a modest nod of his head.
"I was wondering where is everyone at the moment, i see you here, but where is everyone else, can you help me find the rest of them and ask about there missions aboard the hanson." in wonderment as vander replied and with knowledge of the area he was in at the moment.
"I was also interested in knowing what you do from time to time. I hope you are doing well and the admiral you speak of is feeling the same." he smiled and then waited for an answer from the commander.

"Yes I can see that you are Andorian, ensign," S'reena replied pleasantly. Like most of her people, she wasn't too keen on Andorians even though she didn't quite know why.
"As first officer I tend to stay with the ship if the commanding officer is away," the Romulan replied, "and Admiral Drew is away on a very important mission so it is my duty to take care of his ship. Even during shoreleave time, as most officers are enjoying shoreleave at present."
S'reena sighed irritably, she didn't like being questioned, especially not after having had to go through a court martial. "I enjoy participating in survival courses as long as it does not involve water," she answered, "and as I already said, I mind the store when the boss is away. That and I like to spend time with my family whenever I can."
She glanced at the young man through bright green eyes, as if she was peering into his soul. "How about you?" she asked as she settled in her chair.

"Im doing quite well thank you for asking, Im just looking around and seeing what you guys do, thats rather exciting to know that some are on their leave. Seems like you and the Admiral have a busy schedule so i wouldnt want to get in the way." vander responded with a nod.
"I never knew that most of them were on shoreleave in the first place, i figured the ship was getting outfitted and ready to leave at a seconds notice, but from what you tell me most of your officers are away so i can keep you preoccupied before you make the arrangements with the other officers unless you want me to leave." the andorian vander looking quite happy while making his response.
"Well so what do you like to do on the hanson on your spare time."

OOC sigh, i went unnoticed yet again
IC:
Daya tried to not listen to any of the conversations S'reena was having, since he had yet to be spoken to by anyone, but he was looking around the station keeping his mind busy. It might have seemed weird to others, but Daya continuously watched people that were in his sights. He shook his head as he realised what he was doing, then started to walk off.

ooc: indeed commodore, I am in my quarters. Thank you for pointing that out.

S'reena glowered at the ensign. "Free time?" she echoed, "what is free time? I don't get to have much free time lately, not with five young children and a busy workload. Do you think being a commanding officer is demanding? Try being a first officer."
She got up from her seat and walked over to the replicator. "Andorian ice-tea," she ordered, then glanced back at Vander. "Can I offer you anything?"
When she walked back, she set both beverages down on the table, then glanced back up at the younster. "How about you, what made you go into starfleet...and what do you enjoy in your spare time?"

"I would say being a first officer is quite something that would take time to handle and is a position that those fortunate enough are given with the abilities in mind of having first officer, your position is an incredible feet and one i will look upon" vander replied before being given another response by Commander Hope.
"That would be wonderful thank you." vander got the andorian ice-tea that commander hope had given him and took a sip of it and put it on one of the drink coasters that lay on the table next to him. "You have any andorian meat im getting a little hungry" vander replied.
"Actually i made the decision to go into star fleet because it was a chance of opportunity, and something i would love to do for a career as well as get out of andorian polictics which my parents are fond of, and for spare time i like to talk to people and go do some recreational activities to keep my mind off of busy schedules and strenuous day tasks." vander replied and then took another sip of the andorian ice-tea.

Dana wandered the starbase, heading in the direction of the USS Hanson, hoping to be able to see the ship while it was docked. She was unsure of what she would say to the guard she knew would be on duty at the airlocks but was hoping she would be allowed on board.
She stopped at one of the large bay windows overlooking the docked ship to gaze at it, before heading for the airlock just down the corridor.
The walk from the window to the airlock not taking long at all. A short discussion with the security guard, a show of identification papers and poof, she was on board.
Unsure of where she was going but on board.

"Recreational activities," S'reena echoed, wondering just what exactly that meant. It could mean a wide variety of things. "Walk with me," she told the Andorian, just as Michael walked in.
Michael gave her a quick kiss, knowing by the look on her face that she was about to call the nanny and leave. "I'll stay here with the kids," he answered, before she could even ask the question.
The Romulan nodded in appreciation then beckoned Vander to follow her. On their way to the gym, they walked into a female also wearing cadet uniform, and S'reena beckoned her too to follow. "Ah, Cadet Warrick, how good of you to join us," S'reena smiled as she recognized the woman. "I was just showing Cadet Halthor to our gym. Perhaps he would prefer to spar with you while I teach you both a few tricks of the trade."

Dana didn’t have long to wait, along came Commander Hope and another Cadet.
"Ah, Cadet Warrick, how good of you to join us," S'reena continued, "I was just showing Cadet Halthor to our gym. Perhaps he would prefer to spar with you while I teach you both a few tricks of the trade."
“I would like that very much Commander. It would give me a chance to get my feet wet.”
Dana nodded to the other Cadet in greeting and held out her hand. “I’m Cadet Dana Warrick.”

Giving a nod and smiling vander replied, "Hello Cadet Warrick, My name is Vander Halthor as well as you i am a cadet, and i am waiting to serve on the USS Hanson with a excellent crew. It is a pleasure meeting someone new from time to time and i will continue to keep a connection between those who i care about."
"It looks like Commander Hope would like to see us both spar, i am up for it, i have tried some sparring down on Arconia, rather different methods but everything in the transition of fighting is well acquainted with. When can we begin?" vander replied and then looked back at Cadet Warrick and Commander Hope.

“I look forward to sparring Cadet Halthor. I haven’t had a good sparing match in a while.” Dana said. In truth she looked forward to getting to know the other cadet, making friendships early something which was important to her. It helped form bonds during and after training.

S'reena smiled as she preceded the two cadets, but her smile widened when she spotted an almost regal figure at the end of the corridor. "Salek!" she called, waving to get the Vulcan's attention. "Wait for us!"
The Romulan quickened her stride to catch up with her friend. "Commander Salek I'm in need of your assistance," she grinned, as she motioned towards the Human and Andorian cadet. "I am taking these two to the holodeck for a sparring instruction. While I had planned to create a holographic opponent for myself, I would much prefer a live one."
(Salek)
"Don't be such a spoil sport counselor," S'reena chided him, "you've never given up the opportunity to beat me. Not since we first met! Humour me counselor."
She turned towards Dana and Vander. "Cadets Warrick and Halthor, this is Commander Salek, the counseling instructor on the USS Hanson." Then she grinned up at the tall Vulcan. "Consider this your opportunity to give them their psychological evaluation commander."

She stood quietly listening as the two commanders spoke together.

"Well it looks like me, and dana can get this show on the road, so what do you say ready for some sparring" vander replied and then waited for dana to respond, while getting his practice weapon together for the holo simulation. Vander was ready for some action and wanted to do some things, along the lines of recreation before it was time for him to go onto his mission. This was his chance to get his mind off of anything that would stress him out and a chance to get to know the other crew members aboard the USS Hanson. Who knows maybe he might see something he never saw before and see different emotions from the facial gesture given by the crew.
Cadet Dana Warrick, and Cadet Vander Halthor were ready for a brawl and it would give some knowledge about Arconian battle events and battle training in the case the crew of the USS Hanson were to get in the event of war. Looking sternly at his weapon Cadet Halthor gripped the weapon, and made a quick battle cry before starting his battle training with a fellow cadet and friend. This was a event not to be missed.

“That sounds like a plan to me.” Dana replied as she moved to prepare herself for the sparring match once they entered the Holodeck.
She couldn’t help but smile when her fellow cadet let out a battle cry. Dana was looking forward to the match almost as much as he seemed to be. “Let’s do it.” Dana said as she turned toward Cadet Halthor.

Both of the contenders looked at each other, with cdt halthor releasing out his battle cry and cdt warrick getting ready for action. The training blades they both had were smoothed and edged along with precise fine tune sections of the blade. The contenders were getting anxious for a battle, and the victor would be called for after all was finished. An arconan and a human. Only once did this ever happen and it was according to the data history in star fleet that captain john archer had a knife battle with a fellow friend and arconan back in the twenty third century.
"Let the fight begin" cadet vander halthor proceeded and then waited for the commander to give the okay.

Konal finished taking her sonic shower... the first one she had taken in weeks. The outpost she performed her hydroponics research on did not have showers, and was far enough away to make trips to the starbase a luxury. Glancing in the mirror she admired the small ridges along her aging face. Konal was middle-aged, and as a Cardassian, was proud of it.
Refreshed and hungry, Konal hurried herself to the promenade. Usually she was only passing through, eager to get the nitrogenated soil samples she ordered back to her ship. This time, however, she was on leave from Starfleet. The botany research lab she chaired was being converted to a mining colony after dilithium was discovered onsite. Starbase Conquerer was going to be her new home for the next few weeks until Starfleet could reassign her.
After eating a satisfying meal, Konal went strolling through the decks and pylons, checking on the ships that were currently docked. She stopped to watch a sparring match. Konal recognized female Romulan, but couldn't remember where they had met.
"Oh well, what were the chances that they would run into each other again?", Konal thought.
The sparring match ended, and Konal watched as the Romulan and the Vulcan gathered the two cadets they were with and headed out. It was getting late when the show was over and Konal went back to her quarters. On the way, she reminisced of her previous ship assignments. Before she was in charge of the botany lab, she had served as a science officer on numerous ships. She longed to be on assignment again. She knew she would start to feel cramped after a few days.
In her quarters, Konal changed to a more comfortable robe. She kissed the picture she had of her deceased husband, said a few words in case he were somewhere listening, and went to sleep.
