As he walked out onto the bridge Drew could not believe his eyes. Instead of working at their stations crewmembers were jumping and dancing around the deck as if it was a night club. Not only that but someone had readjusted the lighting so it now flashed several variants of lighting and loud music blared out from the comm system.
“S’reena!” Drew called out angrily as he hurried down to the command level where his First Officer was busy dancing with Ensign.
“S’reena,” Drew repeated again as he approached, “what the hell is going on?”
“Admiral!” Konal Manto called out as she jumped up and down on the command chair, “it’s a party!”
“Get off my chair!” Drew yelled at the Science Officer, “Drew to Security, get a full team up to the bridge NOW!
“Admiral, you really should relax,” Brelev said as she approached him with a medkit, “all this angry is not good for your blood pressure.”
“My blood pressure?” Drew repeated, “my blood pressure!”
“Yes sir,” Brelev replied, now scanning him with a tricorder.
“This is outrageous!” Drew protested, turning away from the Doctor and looking towards the turbolift to see where the security detail was.
Suddenly he felt a terrible pain along his arm, and his chest tightened. Finding it difficult to breathe, he collapsed to the deck, as he did so the music stopped.
“Doctor Brelev, I believe the Admiral may require your assistance,” S’reena said, standing over him.
“But remember Doctor,” Konal Manto said also now standing over Drew, “if he dies you become First Officer.”
Drew couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He tried desperately to get back up, but found that he couldn’t the pain was too intense. He tried to reach for his comm badge, but found himself unable to move.
“Perhaps we could cut him open?” Crystal suggested as she too approached, a knife in one hand, and a phaser in another.
“This is all true,” Brelev said, standing over him with her medical kit, “what should I do?”
“The time is 0700”
Paul Drew shot up from his bed in a cold sweat. Breathing heavily he looked around his surroundings. He was in his quarters aboard the Hanson, the lights were off, and there was nobody else in the room. It was just a dream he told himself thankfully as he pulled himself out of bed.
Thirty minutes later, after a shower and a clean uniform, he was making his way to the bridge. The Hanson was due to depart Starbase Conqueror later today and he had some last minute reports to go over before they could leave. He had already received the mission briefing from Starfleet Command, they had been assigned the task of escorting an Ambassador to a peace conference near the Breen boarder. It was expected to be a fairly routine affair, hence the assignment of a training ship. Along the way they would be able to run a few drills for training purposes, and give all the Cadet’s an idea of what life aboard a starship was really like.
This time when he walked out onto the bridge it was just as he expected it to be. Several of the senior staff were already at their posts, including S’reena who was sat in her chair reading a report.
“Good morning Commander,” Drew said as he approached her, “I have a few bits of paperwork to go over before we can depart, so do you fancy doing the honours this time?”
“Morning Admiral,” S’reena replied, standing from her chair to greet him, “you mean greeting the new arrivals?”
“Indeed I do Number One,” Drew answered, “give them the usual talk, and then arrange a tour, if I get everything finished I’ll come down and meet you towards the end.”
S’reena nodded her head in understanding, and turned to the other instructors on the bridge.
“Time to get down to the airlock,” she said, as she made her way towards the turbolift, followed by several others.
Drew watched them go, and then he too left the bridge, walking into his ready room. Ordering his usual dose of steaming hot tea he sat down behind his desk and called up the latest reports, which included the personnel files on all the Cadet’s who were going to be joining the Hanson.
Picking up the first such padd, Drew leaned back in his chair and started his work, as he did so, he wondered what adventures these Cadet’s would have aboard the Hanson. After things very rarely went to plan aboard this ship.
OOC:
And welcome one and all to the Hanson. These opening posts are really just going to be us all getting to know one another. Each Cadet is encouraged to post coming aboard the Hanson and meeting the Instructors, as well as each other. Details of the mission storyline itself will come later on, but for now just have some fun finding your feet.
To the Instructors, I believe you know what to do by now – and I hope you enjoyed the start!

S'reena preceded the instructors into the turbolift, leaving their replacements at their station. As Drew had entered the bridge, S'reena couldn't help but notice that he looked a little drawn and apprehensive, as though he'd been expecting something terrible to happen upon entering the bridge. Of course, the admiral had been under some stress after he'd returned to Conqueror, to find his beloved ship in shambles and his crew severely stressed as well. Thankfully some good R&R had helped everyone overcome most of the stress, but S'reena felt it was all the toughest on the Admiral. Soon enough S'reena had other matters to think about as they approached the airlock. Cadets would emerge any second now and S'reena wanted her instructors to be ready to catch the cadet that was assigned to their department. And indeed, within seconds the first cadet emerged. Of course most of the instructors had already gotten acquainted with their new batch of trainees so it wasn't as awkward as sometimes when they had to greet new arrivals. (cadets, by all means come aboard and move to your instructors

Brelev left sickbay with a sigh of relief. She had spent the last day dealing with a supply order error and two flighty nurses. Star base Conqueror had sent over twice the amount of sedatives she had ordered and half the amount of antibiotics. They never installed the new biobed she requested, instead it sat in cargo bay three waiting for one of the Hanson engineers to notice.
As for her two nurses, the Massing twins Alanna and Ellena (Brelev had yet to figure out why any parent would name their identical daughters so similar), they were still on edge after the last mission. The Hanson crew had spent that time being attacked by Klingons, dealing with a temporary CO with enough psychological disorders to Keep any counselor busy for decades and then on a prison planet. Br elev did not blame the two young women for being nervous, but she wished they would get over it.
She arrived at the airlock to find First Officer S'reena already waiting with some of the other instructors. Brelev had never got along with the Roman women, so she sought a rather peaceful and safe item of conversation "I glanced over the cadet roster before I left, it looks like we are going to be a busy ship. Pity we are not doing something more exciting."
"Last mission we were sent on a survey. What we are assigned to do seems to have little influence on what we end up doing." S'reena replied. "Refresh my memory, is there a medical cadet?"
"Yes, a Caitlin Isis, the name sounds familiar does it not?"
"It sure does, any relation to J.C Isis, he trained here several months ago?" S'reena asked, straitening her tunic.
Brelev shrugged casually. "To be honest I never really checked. The first few moments with a cadet can be awkward, this way I have something to ask her."

Jim Davis sighed as he walked toward the starship Hanson. There it was at space dock, about one-half mile away. Even at that distance, you could tell it was huge. He wondered to himself why it was that people (He referred to them all as "people", regardless of the specific race – Klingon, Tellerite, Andorian, whatever) couldn’t resolve there differences peaceably on their own. Ah, well... that’s why he had been summoned to negotiate the terms of peace between the Aldebarans and the inhabitants of Spica IV.
Now in his mid-forties, he had been been an ambassador since age twenty-two, and through a series of astute diplomatic moves, had quickly earned himself a shining reputation as a peacemaker. He was in high demand, and kept frequently moving on his job. The past few years, he made his home on Starbase Conqueror, as it seemed to be in the center of the majority of his missions.
In his left hand he carried a sizable satchel, a little larger than a briefcase, which he had locked by a handcuff to his wrist. The five-foot nine-inch, brown-haired ambassador quickened his pace, anxious to get to his assigned quarters on the Hanson.
Finally arriving at space dock, James Bartholomew Davis stepped onto a transport vehicle he called a space pod, took a seat near a window, and watched as the side of the Hanson grew ever nearer, then the pod turned and headed toward the rear of the ship, where it touched down on the Shuttle Bay, and Jim at last stepped onto the ship.
Aboard the Hanson
“Good morning,” he said to a uniformed man of about thirty years. “I wonder if you could direct me toward the bridge? I imagine the captain is expecting me.”
Without paying much attention to the newcomer, the uniformed man directed him to the nearest turbolift, and went back to his duties.
Thanking the man, Jim entered the indicated lift and said, “Bridge.” Moments later, the door hissed open, and Jim stood just inside the entry to the bridge of the Hanson.
He took a few moments to look around, noted an officer who seemed to be in charge, and walked up to him.
“Sir,” he opened. “I am James B. Davis. I believe you’re expecting me?”
<<VA Paul Drew>>
”Admiral Drew, I do have a request to make. Due to the peculiarities of the upcoming peace negotiations, I must inform you that, for the most part, I’ll have to remain in my quarters, though I’ll be taking meals along with your crew, as well as getting in some physical activity to keep myself limbered up. Still, there are further deliberations I have to make before we arrive, and time is of the essence. Those arrangements would be okay with you, would they not?”
<<VA Paul Drew>>
”Fine, then. If I could get someone to show me to my quarters, I could begin work at once, and I’ll see you and the crew later on during dinner break.”
With that, Jim left the bridge, following his guide.

This was the first time that Konal was actually going to be aboard the Hanson... officially that is. She was excited to see what her quarters were actually like. Dr. Brelev had given her a brief description during small-talk at Admiral Drew's surprise party, but she was anxious to see it for herself.
Konal was intercepted on the way to her quarters by Commander Hope, who handed her a padd. It contained the name "T'Pren", her Cadet.
"Cadet?" she asked, almost surprised. It was an excited surprise, because science officership was not often sought, in her experience.
She tapped her combadge to contact her new cadet, but there was no answer. Perhaps he had not boarded yet. There still was time. She went to a console, and recorded a message for him. "Cadet T'Pren, welcome to the USS Hanson. When you receive this message, can you please send me a communique. We have some safety protocols to discuss before we leave the Starbase."
<T'Pren>
Konal, in talking to the other officers on the way to her quarters, learned that the other Cadets had not boarded yet either. Looking at the Cadets' quarters as she passed, she noticed some were larger than others. "I would think they would rush to get the bigger room?" Konal didn't know if the rooms were first come first serve or not.
Konal decided to use the time to acquaint herself with the ship, and specifically, her living space. She unpacked her belongings in the newly finished room. The room was completely redone after the last mission, which left most of the ship in aesthetic disrepair.
Konal sat on her bed, looking into the picture of her deceased husband as she pulled it out of the bag. She placed it on the nightstand in front of the mirror. She stood up, brushing off any emotion that followed, and headed toward the bridge.

--On the Starbase in orbit around Earth-- Cati ran to the shuttle, hoping to get there before it left. Fortunately for her, an asteroid was floating around the bay doors. “Cadet?” The voice called out from the door to the near-by cargo bay. A young crewman stood with what looked like a parcel. “I have this for you.” “What is it?” “It’s a…… It……” “It’s what?” The crewman looked sheepish. “Umm…… it is a couple of bottles of blue something.” “Oh! Okay. Thank you.” Cati took the packet. “Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked. “You have a tube coming out of the back of your ear!” Cati sighed. It was going to be one of those explanations then. “The tube is in my right ear because I have an incurable, but not lethal form of a Terran cancer-that-has-mutated-due-to-the-mix-of-my-D.N.A.. It connects to this device here next to where a phaser would be. The device allows me to hear.” She looked at his face. “If you ask if I’m deaf, I’ll shoot you.” She added. “That’s funny actually because the person who gave me those bottles, said that if I didn’t get them to you before you got on the shuttle…… I’ll shut up.” “Thank you!” Cati snatched the parcel and ran into the shuttlebay. “Caitlin! Over here!” A human woman stood next to the awaiting craft. “Quickly!” Caitlin hurried to the hatch and the woman closed it behind them. “It’s lucky for you that I’m coming with you!” said the woman. “I am so sorry! A crewman gave me a parcel from my sister.” “Well don’t be so long explaining things then!” “Okay. I’ve missed you a lot Secunda. You know that don’t you.” “I guessed.” “How?” “I can’t feel the fingers on my right hand.” “Oh, woops.” Cati let go. Flexing her fingers the woman said “How is Esky?” “She’s fine. Got a bit poorly last month with a cold.” “You’re not forgetting something are you?” “Oh, hell!” Cati open the hatch and ran through the door to the turbolift. Esky was in a holodeck looking at different flowers in the Garden of Tranquillity on Martiuos IV. She examined a small yellow and blue flower, and said, “Hello, Mother!” as she was picked up by the forgetful Caitlin. “Flibib! We’ve left Flibib!” cried Esky as Caitlin rushed along the corridor. “Oh! That damn tribble! Where is he?” “In the sh…… sh…… the watery-jet-standing-up-bath-thing in our room.” “Why?” “He was making his ‘I need cleaning out’ squeak.” “And you……” Five minutes later, the crewman who had talked to Caitlin jumped out of the way of a blue blur which made high-pitched noises as it went along. Cati shut the hatch behind her and put Esky and a very shell shocked tribble on the floor. “You’re all soaking wet!” said Secunda as Caitlin took off Esky’s shoes. “I think I can see that!” snapped Cati. “Go and get changed!” she ordered. “No need to be angry!” whined Esky as she toddled off. “Can we go now?” asked Cati, unzipping her boots. “Yes. The Malice towed the asteroid back to Mars.” “Back?” “Your father put it outside by so you would get the parcel.” “Oh, Gods! Uniform; cadet.” The replicator whirred. Cati took the new uniform and started pulling off the old. “Erm……” said an unfortunate Ensign. Cati turned around slowly giving the man time to open the hatch and escape her wrath. “Before you start shouting at me, you should have noticed that we hadn’t left yet.” Secunda pressed a button and the shuttle moved forwards. “Oh, we’re moving! Yay!” Esky ran to the window to try to see the inside of the forcefield. As usual it didn’t work. “I should have thought of that.” said Caitlin putting on her boots again. --In the shuttle 3 days later-- Caitlin finished eating and wondered over to the co-pilots chair. “We’re here, Esky!” she called. The girl bounced up to the chair and sat on her mother’s lap. “What that?” Caitlin was asked. Caitlin looked at the ship indicated. “It is a ship.” “NO, I mean what teacher is it?” “Oh! It is an Intrepid class starship. Ow!” Esky rubbed her elbow. “What it called?” “It’s the USS Hanson.” “That our ship isn’t it?” “No, its mine. You are staying with Secunda on the starbase.” “Actually, I’m gonna be on board the Hanson whilst you are training on it.” Said Secunda, programming the ship to land. “How am I going to explain her?” said Caitlin “I have no idea!” The shuttle came to rest in the starbase’s lowest shuttlebay. The technicians ran forwards to ready the shuttle for disassembly. --On a holodeck-- Cati ran through the woods loading her rifle. It was a nice day, the birds were singing, and her sister followed. “I’ve programmed it to send them in a single flock and I’ve increased the power of the gun by 38%.” Cati said just as her sister flickered. The detail level cannot sustained at this distance. Please select a lower setting.“Computer? Reduce detail level to 50 percent.” Ordered Cati. beep-beep-beep“Cati, are you ready?” “Yes.” “Computer, begin.” As the geese rose from the top of the nearby hill, the sound of a door opening came from behind Cati. “Umm……” she said as she reloaded the gun. “You’re supposed to be reporting in, to your instructor Cadet!” said a voice. Cati looked into the face of a burly Commander, the yellow on his uniform clashing with his green face. “Oh sorry sir! Bye Cal, see you later!” As she ran off the Commander turned on Cal. “Who the hell are you?” he asked. “Who, me? Oh, I’m no-one.” Said J.C. as she faded from view. --On the Hanson-- Caitlin ran through the airlock, trying to hide the package and her rifle behind her back. She bumped into a Denobulan Commander in a support uniform. “Sorry! Commander Brelev?” “Yes.” Cati saluted. “Cadet Isis reporting for duty!” (OOC: 1001 words (and tydied up slightly) Some may have heard of Esky (Eskarina) before...... Sorry it's a bit long.)

"As you were cadet." Brelev smiled, the young women was very energetic, but she seemed disciplined enough. "Caitlin correct? Did I pronounce that correctly?" Brelev had always struggled with some of these cadet names, not every species used phonetics.
<Tag Caitlin Isis>
"I'll have to practice, or perhaps I'll just call you Cadet Isis, although that sounds very familiar. Any relation to a J.C Isis?" Brelev asked, she saw some similar features, but that was nothing to draw conclusions on. The Isis family was rather well known, being wealthy and influential. Brelev hopped her privileged upbringing would not have spoiled the young girl, however the cadet had done nothing yet to support this vague theory.
<Tag Caitlin Isis>
"I see, following in the sister's footsteps then. I had a half brother who entered the Academy before me, although he dropped out in his third year. How about we...." what was that?" Brelev paused, seeing a bulge in Caitlin's pocket move and begin to purr. "A tribble." she sighed. "I have nothing against pets, but please tell me it has been spayed. Those things will self-breed and I doubt Admiral Drew would be impressed if his ship is taken over, besides I think we have a Klingon training for the Marine core."
<Tag Cadet Isis>
"Alright, but please keep an eye on it. Let's head to sickbay, which is a bit of a disaster now. I'll introduce you to the staff, give you a quick tour and then you can help us sort through hell."
"Pardon me?" Caitlin asked.
"The supplies we were given are not what I ordered. Needless to say I am not impressed, although an extra pair of hands should help make things go a little faster." Brelev explained. "Once that's done I'll run you through a few drills."

When S'reena didn't catch her cadet at the airlock, she turned around and walked back to the bridge under the assumption the young man would arrive later with a very good excuse on why he would be late. However when she arrived on the bridge, she was instantly approached by the cadet she'd been waiting for. How he'd gone past her without her noticing, she couldn't fathom, but at least he wasn't late.
"Ah, cadet Crusser, how good of you to report. Tell me, what were you training in again, and also tell me what you believe this position might entail for you. Then I'll tell you if you assume correctly." She smiled brightly at the obviously nervous young man, then motioned towards one of the vacant stations. "Show me what you know," she instructed.
(Crusser please tell S'reena what you believe you have to do as security officer, in character please. I'd like you to write at least one paragraph)

Morgain Karenn had been determined to get a good night's sleep before her training mission. She had been in her quarters on the Starbase Conqueror at 2000 hours, and was asleep an hour later. She would be refreshed and ready for anything. All was silent... until early morning...
"Renni! Wake up, Renniiii!"
The Bajoran sat up instantly, holding a phaser in front of her. She looked around the room frantically for the source of the singsong voice. The voice laughed at her display, and Karenn realized that the room's viewscreen was on. She was receiving a subspace message.
"Iqani. Even when I'm way out here, you still manage to wake me up early." She made a rude gesture at her sister and pulled herself all the way out of bed. "How did you even find me?"
Iqani smiled sweetly. "I have my ways. This sort of thing comes naturally to Cardassians. I just wanted to make sure you arrived on time, hon," Iqani said sweetly.
"You seem to care an awful lot about my career, Iqani," Morgain noted. "Could it be that my too-good-for-Starfleet sister regrets her decision?"
Iqani raised an eyebrow. "I'm just making sure you do alright. If you can't make it in Starfleet, Dad will be so disappointed that I would have to try it. If your success is assured, I'm home free."
"What are you going to do with your life, Ani?"
"Well, I'm not going to waste it following orders from stuffy old Starfleet officers."
"They're not all old and stuffy... I've met some of them already... I... I think this will be fun..."
"Get dressed and go get on your ship, Renn. USS Hanson. Intrepid Class. I'll see you at graduation. Assuming you're still alive."
Morgain stared at her sister. "...what?"
"These training missions are dangerous. I talked to Kiri recently. Told her about you joining Starfleet and all. You know what happened during HER training mission?" Iqani's eyes sparkled dangerously. She didn't even give Karenn a chance to guess before continuing. "Klingons. They got captured by Klingons."
"For someone trying to be encouraging, it sure seems like you're trying to scare me. I'm hanging up on you now, Iqani."
"No, you're not. You wouldn't do that! You don't have the ---"
Morgain reveled in the silence.
A short while later, Morgain found herself standing on a transporter pad onboard the Hanson. She told her name to the crewman running the transporter, who handed her what he described as “A PADD of delightful information.” The information was indeed “delightful,” as it showed her where the cadet quarters were, and gave other instructions. The PADD informed her that cadet rooms were indeed first come, first serve. She took off and claimed the second-largest unclaimed room.
The PADD contained a list of cadets and their respective instructors. She was assigned to Commander Jason Reynolds, whom she had not yet met. It was advised that she report to the bridge to report in, meet her instructor, or at least be told where to find her instructor. She would have time to unpack later. There was nothing left on the PADD of any importance, so she left it on her bed and made her way to the bridge.
The turbolift doors opened, and Karenn stepped onto the bridge. She recognized her fellow security cadet Wesley Crusser, and the Romulan Commander S’reena Hope. “Security Cadet Morgain Karenn reporting for duty,” she announced. “Where can I find Commander Reynolds? I’ve been told he will be training me.”

Tovan hefted his duffle bag over his shoulder, and left his temporary quarters on Starbase Conquerer. As he was walking towards the Hanson, he noticed several other cadets moving in that general direction, obviously shipping out as well. There would be time later to get to know them on board. Having never actually served on a starship before, Tovan was unsure as to how the rest of the crew would adjust to having a Kolinhar Vulcan onboard. There had been a few incidents on Earth, but nothing too disruptive. As he walked across the airlock, he analyzed the surroundings of the Intrepid class vessel. It seemed quite efficient.
After dropping his duffle off at his new quarters, he queried the computer: "Computer, locate Commander Shinsei." Upon hearing the reply, Tovan moved off to report to his instructor. He had met the commander on the Starbase, and the two had gotten to know each other a little. He stepped off the turbolift, saying, "Cadet Tovan, reporting for duty and instruction."

Brelev guided Caitlin through the corridors toward sickbay, taking time to point out any interesting rooms on the way. "I downloaded a map of the ship onto this PaDD, I know how hard it can be to find your way around a strange vessel." She handed the young women the PaDD as they entered the turbolift.
"Thank you." Caitlin replied, taking the PaDD.
"Deck 5" Brelev ordered. "So, what got you interested in medicine?"
<Tag Caitlin>
"I have to admit I could not help noticing your ocular implant, usually I make a point of pulling up my cadet's records, but I have been so busy with this supply error I could not find the time. How long have you had it?" Brelev asked, trying not to stare at the implant.
<Tag Caitlin>
"Here we are." Brelev announced as the doors to sickbay opened. "Cadet Isis, this i nurse Alanna and Ellena, don't worry if you can't tell them apart, I am still having trouble."
"Nice to know we are appreciated." Ellena scoffed. "We managed to sort through the supplies and find out what we are missing, it's less then we thought, but we may run into trouble if anything too dramatic occurs."
"Not news I wanted to hear, but thank you crewmen." Brelev sighed. "Computer, activate the...." before she could finish the doors to sickbay opened and a Ensign from Engineering was helped in by a fellow crewmember. He was holding his arm tenderly, and the uniform was ripped, there was blood.
"Here, over here." Brelev coaxed them to the biobed and wiped out her tricorder, then thought better of it. "This is Cadet Isis, cadet this is Ensign... Yang correct?"
The Ensign nodded with a certain amount of uncertainty.
"Cadet Isis, I would like you to treat Ensign Yang, I will assist only if you ask and intervene only if I deem it necessary." Brelev encouraged, handing Caitlin the tricorder. "Proceed." she stepped back to watch her cadet in action.

Methos was in his office looking over various reports, some of had nothing to with the Marines he was in charge of. The only PADD he hasn't looked at yet was that of his cadet, a Klingon named Kang Mek'tor. After he finished reading the reports, he got up, grabbing the info on his cadet, and walked to the replicator. "Raktajino," he ordered. As he waited for it to finish materializing, he glanced over the PADD in his hands.
'KDF, well that makes my job a little easier.' He read on. 'Violent history, quick to anger, defends the helpless, how heroic. Studies military history. He grabbed his raktajino and headed to the airlock to meet his cadet. When he arrived, he noticed that only Daya was standing there.
"Good morning, Commander," Methos said to his friend.
"I see that your cadet has yet to report to the ship, as has mine. Unless you have seen a Klingon, who is quick to anger..." Methos trailed off.

S'reena smiled at first. "I would classify as a 'ma'am' Cadet Crusser," she smiled, "I am hardly male...at least not last time I checked." Her comment drew a few chuckles from fellow crew present on the bridge, which seemed to break the ice somewhat. However the chuckles quickly died when Crusser mentioned his father was no longer among the living. "I am sorry to hear that, I take your word for it that he was an excellent marine."
She gestured for him to take place in the seat at the vacant console. "And we'll make sure you become an officer your father would've been proud of," she promised. "Now, I am going to run you through a series of hypothetical situations, and I want you to respond to the computer."
She inserted a memory stick into the computer and the small screen displayed a near empty bridge. The night shift was at work, quietly sitting at their stations when suddenly three Breen entered the bridge, quickly overpowering the crew present and setting the bridge (and ship) temperature to sub-zero. "How would you solve this?" S'reena asked.
(Crusser please describe to S'reena what you would do as chief security officer in this scenario)

Kang Mek'tor felt his temper starting to rise and once more found himself fighting to control it. The young security lieutenant from the base stood in front of the brigs forcefield obviously feeling cocky and sure of himself, "Now once more, explain to me how you came to be walking around a starbase carrying a weapon not of federation issue and not dressed in any sort of starfleet uniform" The lieutant said as he stood there examing the Bat'leh, Kangs Bat'leh, in his hands.
"FOR THE LAST TIME"....Kang stopped himself and attempted to regain some composure before continuing "I was on my way to report in to the Hanson, you can check, as for my clothes, like I've been telling you The quartermaster didn't have a uniform that fit me and therefore I currently do not have a uniform. NOW LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" Kang hit the forcefield causing it to shimmer and the lieutenant to take a few steps back.
"Then explain to me how we found these service medals in your gear as well as this letter, which I had translated. Seems the letters a commendation from the Klingon High Council for your duties in the KDF, now hows a Klingon belong to both starfleet and the KDF, and also I find it strange that your records are marked classified, Since when does a cadet, which your claiming to be, rate any sort of security classified status on his records." The lieutenant started thinking about the promotions and possible medals he'd recieved once he informed his superiors of how he singlehandedly caught a Klingon Spy, or maybe he was a sabotuer, well anyways he was most definately a spy and the lieutenant was surely going to be rewarded and maybe become famous after this. The sound of the Klingons enraged screams and threats brought the lieutenant out of his daydream.
Walking back to his desk whistling he sat down and opened a communications channel to the Hanson, as soon as they confirmed that no such person existed on thier manifest he'd inform his superiors. He had already tried to access the ships manifest but the computer was down, probably this spy had somehow managed that, thinking it would prevent them from checking out his story thus allowing him to talk his way out, unfortunatly for him, the lieutenant was a bit smarter than that....or so he thought.

Crystal fiddled with her uniform and checked to make sure her hair was in a secure ponytail. She had dyed her hair black during the last shore leave. She wasn't sure whether or not anyone would notice, she guessed not, but she didn't truly care. She did kind of hope it wasn't against Starfleet regulations though. She had tried to check.
Crystal was kind of excited, even if it didn't show. This would be the first time in a while she would have a cadet. And she seemed to get in less trouble when she was with a cadet, because then she felt a greater obligation to be a role model, or at least to try.
S'reena led the various instructors down to the airlock, to meet the new cadets. Crystal had already met hers aboard Conqueror, but she looked forward to being able to teach him. It appeared that Crystal's cadet had beat her there, and Crystal was informed by the computer that Tovan had entered and chosen his quarters. Crystal wanted to give him some time to settle in, if he needed it, so she returned to the bridge.
She hadn't been there long when Tovan entered off the turbolift. Not much for the settling into his quarters then. Crystal could understand that. She had glanced over the cadet's files, and had seen a few somewhat surprising things, but nothing truly astonishing. “Welcome aboard the Hanson, Cadet Tovan,” Crystal replied.
She gestured off towards the navigation console. “Would you like some time to familiarize yourself with the console before you have to pilot us out of spacedock?” she asked. If Tovan did not want to do so then she could come up with a simulation or have him answer a few questions, but she hoped he did, for two reasons. First, she'd feel more comfortable about having him pilot if she knew he had looked over the console ahead of time, and second, she wanted to see how he handled the console.

”I was playing with Cal one day and I noticed a scar and got very curious about it. I then started reading books asking her what different parts of the body were. I really joined up in the Medical Corps back in Tallinn to stop myself getting into embarrassing situations. I did that after I got this.” She tapped her right ear.
”I’ve had it since I was about nine. The cancer I got from a sunburn spread too rapidly to treat, so I got this. Its one of the only things my family has the Romulans to thank.”
“Now, Ensign. How did you do this?”
“Err…… I walked into a console and the screen shattered.” The young man looked around nervously, trying not to look embarrassed.
“Lemme guess. 5 foot 10, blondy-brown hair in a bun, blue eyes, and a very “interesting” face?”
“Umm…… No. 3 foot, blue skin, hair like yours, eyes like yours…… Basically it was a small version of you……”
“What was she doing?”
“She was following me around asking questions.” He looked at his feet. “They were questions like “How does this work? What does that do? Why does this turn red when I press it?”. I had my accident when she was leaning over the rail on the second floor of Engineering.”
“Ah okay. Was she still there when you left?”
“Yes. She was talking to one of the new officers down there. The officer was the one with the “interesting” face.”
Cati tapped her combadge as she worked on the man’s arm.
=^= Cadet Isis to Lt. Julii. =^=
=^= Yes Cati? =^=
=^= Put Esk in our quarters for me please. I have one of her “victims” here. =^=
=^= Console to the arm? =^=
=^= Yup. =^=
=^= I bet about 3 inches in and 2 inches in diameter. =^=
=^= We’ll see. Isis, out. =^=
“3 inches in?” asked the Ensign.
“The shard of console in your arm. Do you faint at the sight of inside you or anything being pulled out of you?” The man shook his head at this. “Okay I’ll pull it out now. Hold still.”
The man closed his eyes and grimaced as the shard was removed. He took one look at gush of blood, and fell back onto the bed in a faint. Caitlin used this to repair the muscle and seal the wound.
“Damn, I forgot to ask which console it was.” She looked at the shard and scanned it with her tircorder. “Nice try.” She added as she grabbed the tribble that was shifting along the bed. Cati walked over to a portable specimen chamber and put the tribble inside.
“Sorry about that, Ma’am.” Cati said to Brelev.

"Thank you, ma'am. I will familiarize myself with console." Tovan sat down at the helm, and quickly logged in his identiy. He started by running a few diagnostics on the various systems he would need. Inertial sensors registered only the slight movement of the station's orbit. Navigation sensors checked out fine. Data communication with the warp drive, impulse engines, and thrusters came back nominal. As he went through these procedures, he sensed Crystal watching him and evaluating his performance.
As he looked at the readouts on the engines he noticed a blinking indicator.
"Ma'am, there appears to be a minor imbalance in the impulse fusion generators. It should be corrected before we leave."
<Tag Crystal>
After taking care of that problem, he did a few simulated test fires on the various controls, just to check his proficiency. Generally, the console was the same as in Academy simulations, with a few differences which shouldn't be difficult to adjust to.
"Everything else checks out, Commander," Tovan reported, and awaited further orders.

"Let's leave the tribble in the unit there, unless you wish to keep him in your room. I like to keep a spotless sickbay." Brelev requested. "Who is Esk? I am not familiar with a blue skinned short stature species and I don't recall seeing that name on the roster
<Tag Isis>
Brelev took a moment to examine the work Cadet Isis had done. "Not bad, not bad, however I suspect that prior to fainting Ensign Yang may have been in some pain."
Cadet Isis's face flushed in response. "I... he never said a word about that."
"I find it's best to assume a patient is in need of some rexaline with that kind of injury. Some, males for the most part, won't complain especially to a pretty, young doctor. It's an easy thing to neglect, so you are excused for now. Also, you never pulled up his medical file. This is not such an issue for tissue damage, but if a patient required any medication you need to check their record for an allergy. You would not believe how often they forget to tell you." Brelev explained. "We should revive him, go ahead, but pull up his file first."
<Tag Isis>
Brelev was impressed, to be honest. The cadet was obviously nervous, but had an excellent bedside manner, something that was often rare in trainees.

Finishing the last of his reports, Drew deactivated his console and left the ready room for the bridge. As he had expected it was almost empty, with the ship still docked there was no need for a full crew to be on duty, and most of the instructors were still busy greeting the cadets.
Taking his seat in the centre, he tapped his fingers against the side of his chair. It was moments like these when space travel seemed particularly boring, when there was nothing left to do but wait.
Just as he was thinking of retreating back to his ready room, he hurried someone enter the bridge and clear their throat, obviously trying to get his attention. Drew looked up to see a human male in Ambassador robs standing at the back of the bridge.
The Ambassador looked over at Drew, considered him for a few moments, and then walked up to him.
“Sir,” he said in a clear voice, “I am James B. Davis, I believe you’re expecting me?”
“I was indeed Ambassador,” Drew said, offering his hand to Davis, “I am Admiral Paul Drew, welcome aboard the Hanson; you arrived just in time, we are almost ready to depart.”
David nodded his head, and Drew thought the other man appeared to be choosing his next words carefully.
“Admiral Drew,” Davis said, breaking the silence, “I do have a request to make…”
Drew listened to the Ambassador’s request to be left alone in his quarters, and did his best to hide his surprise. In his experience most Ambassadors’s liked to be as involved as possible aboard the ships assigned to transport them, often believing that the crew were incapable of performing diplomatic missions. Still, there was nothing wrong with what Davis wanted to do, so Drew nodded his head and gave agreement.
“If you follow Ensign Rollins here, she will take you to your quarters,” Drew said, indicating a young raven haired security officer.
What an odd fellow, Drew thought to himself as he sat back in his chair. Any other thoughts he might have had about the Ambassador were pushed aside however when the turbolift opened once again, this time to admit the instructors and their cadets.
Drew again stood from his chair and watched as the cadet’s took in their surroundings. For many of them this would be their first time on a real bridge, and Drew knew it was often an exciting time.
“Welcome to the Hanson,” Drew said pleasantly to them, “please feel free to take your stations.”
The instructors led each of their cadets to their representative stations, and Drew sat back down in the command chair. He was pleased to see so many cadet’s had been assigned to the ship, and that they seemed so eager.
When everyone was at their post, Drew cleared his throat, much in the same way that Ambassador Davis had not too long ago. Almost instantly silence fell on the bridge, and many pairs of eyes turned to face him.
“All stations prepare for departure,” Drew ordered, “Ops, hail the Starbase and clear us to leave, Tactical, secure all areas, Helm, take us out, set course and go to warp five when we are clear.”
There was a chorus of “aye sir” as everyone began their assigned tasks. Nodding his thanks, Drew leaned back in his chair and left them all to get on with their tasks. As he watched, he started to tap the side of his chair once again.

As Methos and Daya were talking, waiting for their cadets, one of the Marines stationed on the Hanson walked up to him and said, "Sir, I was on my way to report in to you when I passed the station's Security Office. I heard the officer inside questioning someone rather loudly. The responses were louder and more angry. I walked in and heard the officer say something about The KDF and a cadet. I check our duty rosters and saw that we had a Klingon trainee. I then ran here to tell you."
"Thank you Private, Dismissed," Methos exhaled sharply, then turned to Daya, "Well, I suppose that I should go get him..." and trailed off. He started to leave the air lock, when he remembered that the ship was about to leave.
<Daya>
He tapped his comm-badge and said=/\=Methos to the Captain, I need to go to Star Base Security to pick up my cadet. I hope to have an explanation for you on my return.=/\=
<Drew>
He left the Ship and rushed his way to the Star Base's Brig. He entered to find a rather upset Klingon in a holding cell and a LT typing a report.
Methos walked up to the force field and asked, "Are you Cadet Kang?"
The reply he got from the Klingon was more of a grunt, but Methos knew that is was in the affirmative. Methos nodded and turned to the LT.
"LT, who gave you authority to lock up a Starfleet Cadet? If you look at the Current Duty roster for the Hanson, you will see that we have a Klingon Cadet." When the LT mumbled something about the computers being down, Methos went to the console and typed in a security override code, one which the LT should have known, and the screen came to life. "There, now the computers are back up. Look up the roster," Methos demanded.
The LT did as he was told and found that Kang was indeed a cadet and released him. Methos nodded to Kang and told him to go to the Hanson, and ask Commander Daya, who should be standing in the airlock, where the Marine office was. Kang left and headed toward the Hanson.
Methos, whose face was red with anger, then turned to the LT, "I punched in a code that you should have tried before you assumed sabotage. I am going to report you to the head of station security. Have a good day." Methos then left and headed back to the Hanson. When he got there, Daya was gone. So, Methos went to his office. On his way, he contacted Drew and told him of the situation so far.

Tiffany lefted her duffle bag over her shoulder , and left quarters on Starbase Conquerer. As she was walking towards the Hanson she noticed several other cadets moving in that direction also shipping out as well. Having never actually served on a starship before Tiffany was nervous it was clearly written on her face Tiffany was unsure as to how she was going to adjust to this time frame sense she was not of this time frame but from the year 2007.
As she walked across the airlock, she look at her surroundings of the ship. Tiffany thought to herself "I hope I don't mess up history or write myself out of history."After dropping her duffle off at her new quarters She headed out to seek her instructor,Tiffany once again in deep in thought I wonder if i should tell anyone of what year i came from.
"Tiffany maybe i better not. gees if i keep this up i going stress myself before the mission. i got focus on my mission an get through this.
"Tiffany sigh then enter the turbolift Tiffany spoke (computer Bridge) the computer complied an desended to the bridge. "She put up her mask to advoid be caught beging weak in front of her peers. "As the turbolift came to a stop she enter onto the bridge to report to Vice Admiral Paul Drew. Tiffany snap to attention cadet porter reporting for duty Ma'am as she stood before her instructor at attention an awaiting orders.

Tovan informed Crystal of a minor imbalance, which Crystal figured would probably either be a result of the repair the Hanson had to undergo, or a deliberate check to see if the cadet could find it.
“Excellent catch,” Crystal said. “Can you fix it?”
Tovan did so, while Crystal watched. She noticed that the cadet handled the console well, and seemed to have reasonable proficiency with the controls. She was going to order a specific diagnostic be run to give Tovan a little more experience, when Admiral Drew started to give out orders.
“Helm, take us out, set course and go to warp five when we are clear,” Admiral Drew said.
Crystal smiled slightly. “You can be happy he didn't order us to leave at impulse,” she said, while they waited for Ops and Tactical to report ready. “Like he has always done in the past.” Crystal shrugged. “It's possible he just forgot.”
