The young Cadet thought he was finished with the biosensors, and turned around. Konal smiled. Not because of his success, but because he had done exactly what she expected him to do. Fail.
It was an old Cardassian training technique. You put the new trainees into an impossible situation, make it look as if there is a simple possible solution, and let them think they've created a solution. In actuality, they just taught themselves a major lesson. Konal had to inform him of this first.
"Mr. D'ville. Where is the bio-material that you calibrated the sensors with?" Normally, there was a container of bio-matter that was held in a bio-container within the calibration unit on a ship.
* * * * * * * Flashback * * * * * * Scene: Science laboratory Time: 30 minutes before initial debrief.
Commander Hope: Doesn't that get old? Commander Manto: Old? How can putting celery into stasis get old! Konal giggles Hope: Do you get any training out of this, or is this simply for personal pleasure? Manto: Oh, there is training alright. On Cardassia, you didn't pass a single test until you failed it enough times. There are too many anomolies, problems, and bad data in the universe. Even when you do everything "right", you can still fail. Hope: As long as your Cadets don't feel alienated. Manto: They shouldn't. I'm not doing it to be mean spirited. I do it to teach them the value of not taking things for granted. Hope: Understood. Proceed Commander Hope leaves the science lab. Konal places the celery into the bio-container, removing the bio-gel.
Before Cadet D'ville could argue that this case was not realistic, Konal turned back and continued. "I understand this scenario was not a realistic one, but it was designed to teach you a valuable lesson. You need to be aware of your surroundings. It is not enough to know your field. Everyone knows their field of study on this ship, that is why they are here." Konal turned around and looked at the rest of the room, along with the Cadets. It was obvious that everyone seemed to know what they were doing.
"See - the point of this training is to show you how your particular knowledge is integrated with the others' on this ship. Ask questions of myself and other officers and even other Cadets. Never assume. There are too many phenomena in this Galaxy to assume."
D'ville nodded. There was nothing to be ashamed about, and Konal sensed that he realized the value of this lesson. She smiled playfully. "You aren't mad at me now, are you?"
<D'ville>
The Cadet didn't know how to respond to her informallities. Konal straightened her lip back up. "OK, Mr. D'ville. Do you know how to get to the science labs from here? You need to grab that celery out, and replace it with the bio-container sitting beside it. Afterward, come back, and you can start realigning the sensors. This time engage the rest of the crew. You are all a team. Only when you work together, does this ship run."
<D'ville>
D'ville made his way into the turbolift.

Now that, apart from the odd late arrival, all cadets were accounted for, S'reena found it necessary to welcome back her old friend Salek aboard the Hanson. She also officially needed to welcome the new counselor, as was her duty as first officer, but that would come when she got back to the bridge.
The Romulan hesitated briefly as she reached sickbay, then put on a brave face and walked proudly into sickbay. She still didn't like sickbays, but she was learning to put her fear of it aside. At least now she walked in freely on her own accord, which used to be quite different. Yes, S'reena remembered a time where she had to be dragged down kicking and screaming but that time was past now.
She located Salek standing in the middle of sickbay, deeply engrossed in reading what appeared to be an inventory. "Doctor Salek," the Romulan called, beaming at the Vulcan medic, "I am very pleased to have you back aboard this ship. I rest so much easier now, having a doctor aboard that I both know very well and trust completely." She walked up to the Vulcan and took him into a brief hug, knowing he didn't quite like that. "Since I last saw you on SBC, how have you been?"

While Westgate made her tea, and some for himself, Cadet Grey immersed herself in the data file Drew had sent to Westgate's computer. The tea done, Westgate came near amd placed her mug at her elbow, and sat near to her, slightly beside and behind. He was about to tell her what they might be looking for, starting at the top of the mining food chain, as it were, when she surprised him with a question.
"Dr. Westgate? I don't mean to be nosy, but are you married?"
Of all the possible questions he could have been asked, this was perhaps the least expected. Of course he'd been asked that over the years, but not for a very long time. It had been so long, in fact, that Westgate had himself ceased to think of it.
He looked at her in surprise. "Married? Why, no. Never have been. There was one time, though, when I thought I might be. It was in Dismal. Tennessee, that is. High school sweetheart, you know. Good-lookin' girl. Bettie Jean Beecraft. She was the Homecomin' Queen, and every man alive was a-wishin' they was with her that time. Mighty pretty she was. Westgate was right proud to have her on his arm.
"Took to datin', you know. Called on her a few times a week, went dancin' and whatnot. Got up kinda serious, you know. We talked about marryin' and a-havin' young'uns and all, but Westgate he was poor, you know, and a-wantin' to be a doctor and all, apprenticed hisself to an old quack there in Dismal, a-treatin' folk up in the country.
"Times, they was lean and hard then. Folk couldn't pay every time, so Westgate he got hisself some chickens and 'taters instead sometimes, bless them folk, but it weren't enough to live on and certain not enough to please the likes of Bettie Jean Beecraft. Girl could curl a man's toes with that kissin,' don't you know, but after a few months o' hardscrabblin' around, she give up on that, went to courtin' another man. Says to me, says "Westgate, I love you, but what I want is a family, children and all. Don't want no doctor a-gallivantin' and a-traipsin' all over them hills. Want a man home at night to tuck me in."
"Well, I coudn't gainsay that none, so I hushed right up, give her her freedom, and next thing I knowed she was a-gettin' hitched up to that feller. Had her a fine string o' young'uns and seemed right happy.
"Westgate, he got his medical license by and by, joined StarFleet and all, took to the stars. Had a few relationships here and there, but nothin' took a-holt like that first one did. So, no, ain't married, and don't reckon I ever will be."
Westgate looked at Grey, who had sat listening to this short romantic history. The look on her face was indecipherable. Westgate decided not to say more, but just let her think it over and continue wherever she might wish.

"Commander, please", Salek said as the Romulan female released him from a hug, "It is... good to see you again too.", he said
After they finished the usual, it is good to see you conversation, S'reena questioned Salek about his physical and mental health.
"I am functioning normally", Salek replied, "However i must suggest that the crewmen you assigned to carry my equipment get some more training with handling delicate equipment", he said
"Are you still avoiding regular medical exams Commander?", Salek questioned

S'reena grinned. "Avoiding no, but that doesn't mean I like it," she answered truthfully, "and I still don't like being cooped up in sickbay for longer than is necessary."
She caught Michael's grin from a few beds away, flashed him a smile then returned her attention to the Vulcan. "No Salek, I have quite been behaving myself on that front. Oh, and on other fronts as well, don't worry." Again she grinned. "Oh right, you don't worry because that's an emotion. Nevertheless, don't you worry doctor."
She took a step away from him then gave him the once over. "And yourself? Apart from 'functioning within parameters' of course. What've you been up to while you were away...or is this one of your 'I can't tell' moments?" She loved baiting the Vulcan, and sometimes he would, consciously or unconsciously amuse her in this.
"Will you be checking out our new counselor later? He's one of our new arrivals. And I believe Miss Kanz hasn't had her check-up either." She paused. "I have to get back to the bridge now. It is good to have you aboard again Salek, I have missed you."

Lucy walked across the room to an empty wall console and motioned for Alex to follow her. "All we're doing for now is standard checks on the system. If anything strange shows up then we can look into it further." She stepped aside so that Alex could start entering the commands.
Keeping an extremely watchful eye on what was going on she decided that they really needed to get to know each other a little better given they would be working together all mission. While there was a lot she could find out from personnel files, Lucy realised that asking the questions herself would be much more useful. "So where are you from?"
<Alex James>
"Ah right I'm from Vulcan myself" Lucy grinned, she normally got a bit of a strange reaction to that. "Just happened to be where my mother worked. I used to help out with systems testing over there. How about you, always wanted to be an Engineer?"
<Alex James>
After he finished talking it was quiet for a minute, and Lucy took the opportunity to check up on how the work was going, "So how are the replicators? Any problems found yet?"

'Commander, I not mad at you. But, as science officers will need to rely on the sensors for data coming, with stunts like this ma'am how can I trust the data. It looks like my grandfather was right about Cardassians, I didnt wish to believe him.
He staluted stiffy and grab the bio-container and headed for the turbolift.
*This working relationship could get a little strained* he thought as he walk to the science labs. He was flush with anger he knew how to work in a team, a leader at the top who assigns task to the ones below, that person then completes to the better of his abitilies.

Crystal smiled slightly, Drew's willingness to let the cadet choose the route and speed seemed like an invitation for disaster. But Cadet Sol didn't seem to take it that way, focusing with all seriousness on the destination and the console. He seemed to glance up at her every thirty seconds or so, checking for her confirmation that he'd done everything right so far. Crystal wasn't seeing any problems, and she was watching him very carefully.
Kalen piloted the ship clear of Starbase Conqueror without slamming into the station which was, well not unusual, still a good thing. Crystal didn't think she would ever get tired of safely undocking. She might value some excitement in her life, but there were some things she didn't need to experience more than once. And while it hadn't been a full Starcraft (just a shuttle) and she hadn't hit a station (it had been a bit of debris left over from the explosion of another ship), she knew well enough that crashing was never a good idea.
The cadets from Starfleet Academy had a good deal more training than she had had the first time she'd flown and while she counted it as a miracle that she'd survived, she knew there was no way Starfleet would give completely inexperienced cadets the helm. So she didn't need to count on any more miracles, at least not just now.
Crystal realized she'd been silent for a while, just watching Cadet Sol input the commands. As a result, without any verbal input from his instructor, Cadet Sol looked like he'd tensed up a little. “What do you say we take a side trip to Breen?” Crystal asked, trying to give the situation some levity. She wasn't sure whether Admiral Drew heard her or not, but just in case she looked up towards his chair and winked, so he would know for sure that she was joking. Then she turned back to her cadet. “It may not be the ideal vacation spot, but it's a visit of a lifetime.

Cadet Grey leaned to the side setting her elbow comfortably in the palm of her hand, the back of her hand on the desk. In her sideways position, she watched Cmdr. Westgate's face, his eyes, as he told her of the woman he almost married.
Lucy's heart went out to him, her soul wishing he were younger. If he were, she would have been able to reach out and touch his cheek softly. But if anyone were to come into the room, they would have thought he was having romantic allusions toward her, instead of the other way around.
The cadet shook her head minutely when her instructor finished his tale and looked at her.
Westgate looked at Grey, who had sat listening to this short romantic history. The look on her face was indecipherable. Westgate decided not to say more, but just let her think it over and continue wherever she might wish.
Sitting up quickly, chasing the thoughts out of her head the way she would a puppy out of harm's way, Lucy smiled.
"I'm glad you told me. You do have a way of talking, commander. I quite like it."
<Westgate>
"Well, I think you would have made a good husband." *Not for her, but for me....,* Lucy finished to herself.
<Westgate>
"Yes, of course." Lucy picked up the padd she'd let fall and compared the names on the screen of the computer. "What about this Shraka? An Andorian. Have you investigated him?"

Kalen was enjoying every minute of piloting the Intrepid class vessel that he didnt even hear any of the conversations going on around him. As soon as he cleared stardock he suddenly realized just where he was and that he his every move was being observed by his instructors. He knew he should have been used to being observed by his superiors by now but he doubted if he would ever relax until he was finished with the academy.
He was debating exactly which route to take when he heard his helm instructor say "What do you say we take a side trip to Breen? “It may not be the ideal vacation spot, but it's a visit of a lifetime."
He didnt know whether or not Crystal reconized his nervousness and if she had asked the question to help relieve some of his tension or if she was actually being serious. He guessed it wasnt the latter and got a small bit of amusement thinking about how much fun it would be to go to breen. He knew the breen were a violent race and chances are there might be some excitement there when the Hanson came outta warp in their territory. He quickly dismissed the thought, looked at Crystal and said jokingly "Sounds good to me, but i doubt the admiral would approve. Maybe when he goes to sleep i can sneak up here and alter our course a little."

"You need to rely on sensors, I don't argue that fact, Cadet. What I am saying is that you need to verify what the sensors are telling you. And verify assumptions. You assumed there was a bio-gel container in the depository." Konal smiled. "It wasn't a big deal. It was an exaggerated circumstance to prove a point. You are right, this instance was not realistic."
The Cadet left in a huff, picking up the bio-gel container that Konal had brought forth when the reality of the celery incident was revealed.
"Mr. Westgate. When you two," Konal's forefinger pointed between the older officer and his Cadet, "get a chance, can I talk with you?"
Dr. Westgate gave a spiel of interrogatives, in which Konal's only answer was, "I need your help in some- personal- matters."
<Westgate / Grey -- Feel free to write the following paragraph from your first person point of view>
"I think she needs counseling," the Cadet told her older counterpart, at which time Westgate's eyes grew with realization. "Well why didn't you say so!" He, Cadet Grey, and Konal discussed when would be the best time to meet. As their conversation finished, Cadet D'ville returned. He looked a little less perturbed than when he left.
"Why don't we make our way down to main sickbay. We need to get your routine checkup." Konal just had hers a few months back. She wasn't due for another one, thank goodness. She didn't know of any officer that enjoyed a trip to sickbay. It was so drab, and dreary, and the doctors were not experts at conversation.
Together they left for sickbay.
<D'ville, feel free to narrate the trip, and what happens in sickbay>

From his chair in the centre of the bridge Drew chuckled to himself as he heard Crystal’s gentle teasing of her cadet. For some reason, a number of the instructors had recently taken to this technique with the new recruits, a few missions ago it had gone to the extreme with a certain Cadet Connor Stephens, not that Drew minded, but he sometimes wondered how the cadets felt about it all.
“Well, while you two decide where we are going, I’ll be in my ready room,” Drew said, standing from his chair and walking across the bridge, “you have command Crystal.”
As the ready room doors closed behind him, Drew let out a sigh. He hated this part of the mission, where everyone was busy preparing the ship, and all he could do was sit and watch. As far as he was concerned it was the biggest downside to command, you could not fight the Borg everyday, and so had to spend a lot of time doing nothing.
Ordering a hot beverage from the replicator he sat at his desk and pressed the control to start his log. Instantly his computer terminal came alive, and a small indicator in the lower corner of the screen told him it was recording.
"Captain’s log, supplemental, we have now departed from Starbase Conqueror and have set course for Outpost 1.2.9. The crew seem to be bonding well with the new cadets; all of whom seem to be very eager. I have noticed some gentle teasing in some of the relationships, and others seem to be taking a much more serious tone, which should make for an interesting mission.
I am however concerned about Konal, I think there is more to her connection with the current situation on the Outpost than what she has told me so far. While I am confident that she will do the right thing eventually, I am worried about what turn events will have to take to force her to tell me everything she knows."
His log finished Drew deactivated his computer, and picked up one of the padds on his desk. Pushing his chair back, he put his feet up on his desk and leant backwards, making himself comfortable; then he switched on the padd calling up his favourite part of a classic comic book from twenty-first century Earth.
Sometimes being the Captain had its benefits…

"I'm going to check the power line" said Alex and he ran over to the warp core. he then stared on the diagnostic ... "nope this isn't it" he said quietly, he then started a diagnostic on the power couplings ... "same readings as the replicator" he thought. He then went to the power coupling, adjusted it and came back to the console, he started another diagnostic on the replicator ... the readings said normal. then he went to Lucy "Lucy i fixed it, the power coupling was just ever so out of alignment that it didn't conduct as well"

"Bye lucy I'm going to tour the ship, if you need me just give me a call" <lucy kanz> Alex started to walk toward the turbolift, as soon as it opened he steeped inside, "deck 4" he said, just as soon as the turbolift doors closed. he waited inside for 14 sec. then the doors opened again and he steeped out. he walked a bit, then found his quarters, he went inside. his room was looking pretty bare, so he went to a desk, sat down, then he turned his computer on. as soon as it flashed to life he started recording "Cadet Alex's log stardate: 930602 I've just been assigned my first job as EO on the USS Hanson, I've also fixed my first item today, a power coupling. this day has been fun and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. End log." "pretty short, aw well" he thought. then he went to his replicator made a photo of his family. he then went and put it on the wall. "hmm" he thought "still needs something ... but what?"not being able to find anything he left his quarters. went to the turbolift and entered it. he then said" deck 5" after 2 sec. he left and went to the holodeck. after entering one of the holodecks he started a simulation.

Together they left for sickbay.
As they waited for the turbolift to arrive Ashley produced the PaDD from a holder he had design to sit at the small of his back.
'Commander, here is the results of the tests I ran. It didnt use the bio-sample or the celery. My mother once told that standards can give just standard results. Be creative with your test and use the best sensors you can. Machines just let us see more. We was given the only sensors we can trust. All we sense is real, even if somebody else created it.'
The doors opened and the two lefted and enter the main sickbay.
A duty nurse noted their arrivial and crossed to them carrying a PaDD.
'Cadet D'Ville report for medical as per Starfleet Regulations' he stated stiffly.
The nurse misreading his emotions ' Dont worry this will not hurt at all, jump up on to the bio-bed.'
Ashley smiled ' The medical dont worried, its the last time I was on a bio-bed was 8 years ago just before I leave Betazed to go to Earth.'
The bed sensors read a big spike in ECG and the Blood Pressure spiked too. All the other reading didnt match any thing on report.

" I will send them a message to report in here as soon as I have reviewed all the medical records available.", Salek responded as S'reena left sickbay
Moments after her departure, a young man wearing cadet's pips strolled in sickbay requesting an exam. The nurse guided him over to a bio bed and left. After she departed Salek went over to the young cadet.
"Cadet.... Dville?", Salek questioned
And without waiting for a response he pulled out the young man's medical record.
"I see here you have been avoiding medical checkups for 8 years... Are you aware you are violating Starfleet regulations?", Salek questioned, "These regulations are in place for a reason.", he continued
<Tag Dville>
"I am not interested in your excuse cadet. It is obvious the medical staff who had an obligation to give you a checkup were not performing adequately. This will not be the case here.", Salek said
"Now cadet lie down", he instructed the young man as the bio bed closed around his body. Salek activated the scan and pulled out a medical tricoder to perform some additional scans.
"The pH level of your blood is slightly increased cadet... this is not all in itself that serious... right now... but we need to attend to it right now. I will give you a compound to enhance your breathing so that your pH level can return to normal. But we will need to keep an eye on this.", Salek said
"No need to be alarmed cadet.", Salek said as he noticed the cadet going into a mild tachycardia. It is nothing serious and you will not need to remain here.", Salek said as he opened up the bio bed and allowed the cadet to sit up
"Now tell me... have you been in contact with any infectious materials recently? Suffered from any diseases?", Salek questioned

D'Ville looked puzzled, I have been in Derbyshire an insolated place called Kinder Scout. I was over 45 miles from a medical check up center. The reason I was there was anger mangement after the death of my Mother. Plus I was not part of Star-Fleet when I was in Derbyshire. But as I am now I here for my medicla as per Regs. 'I been in contact with most of the old America Empire Northern section, Disease no, thanks to my Klingon blood I fairly resistance, plus with my Betaziod I have a 6th sense about anybody that can harm me.
He turn to the Commander Manto and bit in to the stick of celery and started to chew. He started to grasp and choke as his throat started to close up.

Sitting up quickly, chasing the thoughts out of her head the way she would a puppy out of harm's way, Lucy smiled.
"I'm glad you told me. You do have a way of talking, commander. I quite like it."
Westgate laughed. "I reckon that's a good thing. Just a-tellin' the facts, you know."
"Well, I think you would have made a good husband." *Not for her, but for me....,* Lucy finished to herself.
"Not too sure about that, lookin' back on it. I'd've always been a-pinin' for the stars an' all. Love Tennessee, you know, but them people ain't got much imagination, happy where they's at an' all. Now, then, my sweet young Cadet, let's get a-goin' on them mine bios. Tedious work, but I reckon with two of us it'll be more easier."
"Yes, of course." Lucy picked up the padd she'd let fall and compared the names on the screen of the computer. "What about this Shraka? An Andorian. Have you investigated him?"
"Heard Commander Manto mention him once or twice. Don't know nothin' yet, though. Reckon we oughta get the Commander in here, sort that one out."
<Grey>
"I think that's right. Now in the meanwhile, we oughta be a-startin' at the top." Westgate scrolled through the list slowly. "Shraka. Dumstorff. Skratt. Lash. Lash? Well, I'll be dipped! Ever heard tell of a Gideon Lash?"
<Grey>
"Hehheh. Reckon you ain't old enough. Gideon Lash. Now that takes me back a bit. Gideon Lash is former StarFleet. Intel, I think. Got involved in some smuggling and extortion. Had some trouble with the Klingons, you know. Ended up sentenced to do some time on Rura Penthe. Dilithium mine there, you know. And now he's at this here outpost where there's a dilithium mine. Awful concidence, ain't it, though? Reckon we oughta ask the Commander about that one, too. Gideon Lash. If that don't beat all!"

Westgate and Cadet Lucy Grey had been poring over the crew list of the dilithium mine when Commandeer Manto popped her head in the door of the Counselor's office. The two had decided that they needed to talk with her concerning some of the names on the list, and so it was a convenient intrusion.
"Mr. Westgate. When you two," Konal's forefinger pointed between the older officer and his Cadet, "get a chance, can I talk with you?"
That wasn't quite what Westgate had expected, and his initial response was somewhat unintelligible. "What? When? Huh?
"I need your help in some- personal- matters."
"I think she needs counseling, Doctor," the Cadet told her older counterpart, at which time Westgate's eyes grew with realization. "Well why in the heck didn't you say so!" He, Cadet Grey, and Konal discussed when would be the best time to meet. "Oh, and Comander, I've some names I'd like to run past you, if you don't mind. Maybe after we discuss them personal matters an' all, we can hook up on that investigation the Admiral wants us to do."
Westgate watched Manto's reaction very closely. She didn't seem surprised, but her eyes shrouded just a bit, indicating to Westgate that she had information she really preferred not to share, at least at this time. "Careful now, Westgate," he said to himself. "Don't want to run into the briar patch."

“Deck 19, U.S.S. Hanson.” As the turbolift began moving, Megan tried to catch her breath. She hadn’t even been sitting at the edge of the bed in her quarters for a minute when the call had come in that the Hanson was about to depart and she’d made a run for it. Apparently, she’d arrived at the Starbase just as the last call for the Hanson leaving had been made. She felt very lucky that someone had managed to notice the shuttle’s delayed arrival and notified her before the ship left.
Still, she would be cutting it very, very close and was hoping she’d make it. As the turbolift doors opened, she sprinted down the corridor, past surprised cadets and officers, and entered an umbilical station for the Hanson. As she approached the door and reached for the entrance keypad, she heard a cough behind her. “Sorry, Cadet. You’re too late. Next time, try to be on time.”
The Lieutenant at the consol to the left of the entrance glared at her in disapproval, and Megan glanced out the window to see that although she might technically be late, the umbilical was still attached. Squaring her shoulders and pulling herself up to her full height, Megan turned to face the Lieutenant.
“I do apologize for my tardiness, Lieutenant; however, since my shuttle was delayed in arriving until ten minutes ago, I missed the final boarding call. I’m lucky that someone caught this and was able to notify me, and I’m even luckier that the umbilical is still attached to the ship. I don’t think Admiral Drew would be pleased to learn I managed to make it here only to be kept from boarding, do you?”
Squirming just slightly under her firm gaze, the Lieutenant wordlessly reached over and opened the door to the ship. Suppressing the urge to gloat, Megan smiled politely and said, “Thank you, Lieutenant.” before turning and walking calmly through the door, down the umbilical corridor, and towards her new ship.
She once again thanked her lucky stars for her gift. For as long as she could remember, whenever she’d been faced with a difficult or dangerous situation, something inside of Megan clicked, producing complete and total calm and clarity of thought that almost always seemed to get her out of trouble. Not only that, but she seemed to have a natural gift of command, (or intimidating people as her mother would tease) and for some reason people just seemed to do what she wanted them to do. Whatever it was called, Megan was always glad to have it.
Still, the gift only lasted while she was in the situation, and she once again forced her rapid heart rate to calm down. Reaching the door, it opened allowing her to pass, and as soon as the door closed behind her, Megan heard the umbilical detach and breathed a sigh of relief. She’d just made it and had nearly missed her first assignment. “Not a good way to start my tour of duty…” she thought.
Glancing around, she realized no one was there to meet her. Thinking they’d most likely assumed everyone was on board, Megan shifted the bag on her shoulder for the first time since she’d made her frantic run to the ship, headed towards the nearest turbolift, and pushed the call button. The doors opened momentarily and after she entered and the doors closed, she called, “Deck 1, Bridge.”

"Cmdr. Manto... the Cardassian? She seems intense," Lucy looked into the air. "Science?"
Shaking her head, Lucy replied softly, "No, I don't remember that name."
"Reckon we oughta ask about everybody, don'tcha think?" Lucy drawled, grinning.
At that moment the commander under discussion appeared at the door. Lucy was surprised and a bit bewildered at the commander's attitude. Shortly, however, when it became clear, and Lucy said as much to Cmdr. Westgate, that Cmdr. Manto was there to speak with them, an appointment was made.
"Now," Lucy said, returning to their previous topic, "about Lash. Dilithium produces a byproduct called Illium-629. Illium can cause hallucinations in some people. Have you read anything about it?"
<Westgate>
"Well, there was an article in the Academy Counseling newsletter. The phenomena is rare but it does happen. I think we need to look into it further."

Daya sighed softly as he looked over the scans he continued to look up, checking for anything out of the ordinary. He watched the cadets go about their work with their instructors, getting tips and being asked questions from time to time. 'this might actually be a quite mission' he thought to himself. After a few more minutes, Daya was getting bored, he needed to do something and then he remembered he still needed a physical. Leaving his station he walked to sickbay, where Doctor Salek was reassigned.
Stepping inside sickbay, Salek was questioning one cadet, who was laying on a bio bed. The nurse guided Daya to a bed, where he awaited the doctor. "what can i do for you commander....?" "Daya, commander Daya, just a checkup really, its been a while" Daya said, sitting on the bed.
<tag Salek, i am still on a semi-loa for awhile so just go ahead and sim with me as you will>
