"You have me here now, alone. What do you want and make it quick for I have no desire to stay much longer in a room with a coward like you."
"I've been called worse, my dear," Ramat said softly. He held Cmdr. Hope at arm's length. "You are as lovely as I remembered."
Hope's expression was one of distaste. The male Romulan felt a stab of sorrow that she didn't know of his unselfish desire to give her everything she could ever want in life. But such was the way of love. He pulled her toward him, his face lowering to hers expectantly.
Ramat's face took on a gradual look of wonder as Hope took a step backward. The phaser was in her hand, he noted. Peering down, a line of light green blood turning darker as it spread downward from his chest.
Wavering, almost falling, he looked at her curiously. Didn't she want to become his paramour?
Ramat's small indiscretions had been found out before, but they wouldn't have been this time. This time he'd meant to keep his courtesan well hidden.
"At least I kept my rank..." Ramat whispered as his face went blank and the light in his eyes faded.

S'reena loathed the look on Ramat's face and cast him a look of sheer contempt and loathing. "I am married," she hissed at him as she drew her blade and pierced his heart, while at the same time taking the phaser from him. "And you are nothing but a coward. I'm doing you a favour, killing you like this for you it is more than you deserve."
The Romulan woman stepped back as she let Ramart's corpse glide from her grip. She had a faint look of horror on her face and her expression was haunted when she caught up with Manto and the cadets. "Get us out of here," she ordered, "we'll have the Hanson extract whatever further survivors are here."
Still shaking, she settled into her seat. "Sol, set course back to Hanson, get us there as far as possible. Signal them we have a single survivor and need a foster family for our young orphan."
(Sol, elaborate on your piloting. I would like to see more than two paragraphs please)
Turning back, she offered a smile at the girl, who sat on Grey's lap. "How is she?" she asked the counselor, "the father wás dead wasn't he?"
Then she turned to the other cadet. "D'Ville, have you gotten through to Hanson yet?"
(Ashley, get in contact with Hanson. You'll find a Trill named Dharma Meri answering the hail, in a very rude manner)

=^=Grahame to Hanson=^=
=^=Where the hell you been, I been trying to contact you=^= the face of Commander Meri filled the viewscreen.
Ashley looked at the magnified spot of the side of the Trills head.
=^=Commander, it a little hard to answer when you got a phaser pointing at you to answer. It looked like it was a Romulan male attempting to elope with the bride to be, but the bride just re-afirmed her vows to a current marriage.=^=
Ashley glanced at the Romulan Commander and grinned =^= I think he quickly got the point the answer being no. We lifting off from the station now, there are some levels we couldnt get to the Hanson will need to lock on and beam out anymore survivors.=^=
Ashley half turned to break the link.
=^=Commander a quick scienfic question, what causes your spots to illuminess when angered?=^=

The rush out of the research lab and down the corridors to the Graeme was a bit too slow for Cadet Grey. Whatever happened back there she wasn't in any hurry to find out about. Still, it would be her duty to listen and counsel Commander Hope when things settled down a bit.
It was good to get the 'patient' talking about unsettling events as quickly as they could. Before logic set in. Impressions got buried, reactions were pushed aside then denied as time passed.
Lucy reached down and pulled Bekkah into her arms, carrying her the final few meters to the shuttle. Once inside and seated, Bekkah continued to hold onto the counselor. Lucy started rocking the little girl, uttering soothing sounds.
The shuttle powered up, Cmdr. Hope raced into the Graeme then Cadet D'Ville contacted a Trill on the Hanson and Lucy noticed that Bekkah had fallen asleep. Tears still ran down her little cheeks, her arms curved against her chest. Lucy gently tugged the girl into a comfortable position (for Lucy) then settled back in her seat.
A smile reached Lucy's eyes as she thought of seeing Dr. Westgate. Of talking to him, confiding in him of her fears and the excitement of being on an away mission. Of the joy she felt holding Bekkah in her arms and knowing that it was what was needed at the time.
Then they were in space, the image of the USS Hanson in the distance.

Alex was struggling with the saboteur as the stun shot did not kill him but as security arrived and took him it felt as if a great weight had been lifted form Alex’s arms. Alex still had a few cuts and bruises however so he turned to go to the turbolift as he entered the doors closed behind him and he said "deck 5" as the turbolift ascended he waited and 12 sec. Later the turbolift stopped and Alex exited. As he entered sickbay he went to sit on one of the beds, salek approached Alex with a Dermal Regenerator and started sealing Alex’s cuts at once. “Thanks” said Alex “you’re welcome” replied salek. After that Alex left sickbay and went back to the turbolift and entered “deck 11” he said and after the turbolift opened he resumed his position. <Tag to anyone if anything goes wrong that I can fix let me know>

Carrying Bekkah took its toll on the older officer. Rubbing her neck ridges, she reassured Cadet D'ville that he was doing alright no matter what Commander Meri implied. That wretch. Konal did not make it a habit to dislike others, but Meri brought out the worst in her. She absolutely loathed the woman, and often wondered if it were the Meri symbiont or the Dharma host that brought so much anger to the forefront. Many night-shifts Konal spent on the bridge with her, and all of them revealed nothing of the Trill's personal life.
"D'ville, can we beam out Commander Hope?"
Cadet D'ville didn't have to answer, though, Konal assumed that she wouldn't be able to bea...
"Well uh, yes, but..."
Commander Manto did a double take, Commander Hope had caught up prior. "My memory must be slipping from me, my dear Commander. I apologize to think you weren't aboard." Konal sat down. It had been a long day.
Hope gave some more orders, facing the crew. Konal saw a flash out the viewscreen. "What is that, Mr. Sol?"
"It's a tractor beam. The USS Hanson is pulling us in!" There was clear excitement in his voice, and the feeling was shared by everyone. Everyone besides Commander Hope and Bekkah, of whom Cadet Grey was attending to.
"Sir, there are two Vulcans on the outpost still. Shall we beam them aboard?"
"Negative." Commander Hope stated, still a bit winded from something nobody saw happen. She went on to explain that while they helped her out of her mess, they only did so due to her indifference in the matter. They were simply there to stop Ramat from stealing Ilium; security arriving to handle the current situation. They are covert operatives. They can handle themselves.. or so they said.
"They work for the mining consortium, then?" Konal asked. The plot kept thickening, and Konal tried hard to wrap her head around everything that was happening.
"So - Mr. Lash was trying to steal the Ilium... and so was Ramat?" The others didn't answer, but followed her line of reasoning. In the meantime, the flyer entered the docking bay of the Hanson.
"Lash was in on it all along, even when we were an outpost. I can't believe it!" Konal knew that there were ilium ventilation shafts built... but that was for safety purposes. She had no idea that Lash was farming it for profit on the black market.
The engines powered down on the flyer as Konal continued.
"And Ramat.. he wanted a piece of the action? Convinced all these people that were followers of Lash's crazy scheme to take back their jobs... their livelihoods... that he was trying to help?" Konal couldn't believe it. All these people were so intent on getting their jobs back, they were willing to believe anything. She counted her blessings.
Cadet Sol went through the shutoff procedure. The ship powered down its subsystems as Konal concluded her monologue and communiqued her other Cadet, Cadet Garrett, asking for status.
=/\= Commander Manto, I'll get Engineering down there right away. Mr. Alex James has been doing an excellent job here so far =/\= The word "excellent" was very long and drawn out, as if she were trying to prove a point to somebody else on the bridge.
*sigh* the bridge. Meri was there. No wonder.
=/\= Mr. James, can you come to the shuttlebay. We have had a few .. well, .. encounters with the flyer and could really use your help getting it back to working order. =/\=
"Somebody take the girl to sickbay." She rubbed the back of her hand softly across the girl's face, moving the bangs of her hair that were hiding her features. The back of her hand caught a tear. "Perhaps, Cadet Grey, you should accompany her?" The thought of the girl reminded her of her sore back. "I'll probably be joining you once I help brief the Admiral."

After the conversation with Ashley, Commander Meri was positively fuming, as if she hadn’t been already. Megan was certain he’d only been joking about her spots lighting up, but Commander Meri certainly hadn’t gotten the joke. Either that or she didn’t think it was that funny. Neither would surprise Megan.
Megan watched sensors as the shuttle lifted off and moved toward the Hanson. She glanced around the bridge, knowing that everyone else was watching the same thing and marveling at the fact that no one felt the need to report it. This time, Megan had to agree with everyone else. Staying out of the Trill's cross-hairs at the moment seemed like a matter of life and death.
“Tractor the shuttle into the bay.” Commander Meri ordered Commander Daya, and everyone else bent over their consoles trying to stay as invisible as possible.
However, Megan’s anonymity would be fleeting, as her commbadge came to life with Cadet Alex’s voice reporting that he had caught the saboteur at sensor control. At this report, Commander Daya quietly slipped from his station, signaled his replacement, and left the bridge. Unfortunately for Megan, the Trill didn’t notice Commander Daya, and her glare was focused firmly on the Cadet.
Bracing herself for another fun conversation with the Commander, Megan tapped her commbadge. “Acknowledged, Alex.” she responded, before pausing, glancing at Commander Meri, and adding. “Good work. Garrett out.”
Taping her commbadge again to close the line, Megan turned to face Commander Meri with a perfectly calm expression. She felt anything but calm.
“What are you, his mother?” Commander Meri asked, her voice dripping with both sarcasm and scorn. “Good work.” she mocked rolling her eyes. “Pathetic… There will be no parades thrown for mere competence on my bridge! Clear?!”
It took a lot to get Megan truly angry, but she’d had just about enough. “With all due respect, Ma’am, catching a saboteur can hardly be defined as mere competence, and I doubt two words would constitute a parade either.” Megan replied staring right back at Commander Meri.
The bridge fell completely silent, as Commander Meri took a single, slow step forward. “Anything else you’d like to say, Cadet?” she quietly hissed putting heavy emphasis on the word Cadet.
Megan held her ground, without blinking and answered firmly, “No, Ma’am,” putting just as much emphasis on Ma’am that Dharma had put on Cadet.
The quiet bridge got even quieter as the two women faced each other down, neither moving nor blinking. It felt like an eternity when in reality it was only a few seconds. The silence was interrupted once again by Megan’s commbadge.
=/\=Cadet Garrett, this is Commander Manto. What’s your status?”=/\=
This broke the staring contest, as Commander Meri rolled her eyes and turning away said in a disgusted voice, “Great…the Cardassian…”
Gritting her teeth and ignoring Commander Meri, Megan responded, “We’ve had an…interesting time here, Commander Manto.” Checking her sensors, Megan noticed the damage to the Flyer. “I'll get Engineering down there right away, Ma’am.” and glanced quickly at Commander Meri, who had returned to glaring at her, added, “Mr. Alex James has been doing an excellent job here so far.”
Megan could hear Commander Manto’s sigh through the commbadge, as she acknowledged and closed the channel. Commander Meri was still glaring at Megan as the channel closed, and so Megan calmly turned to her, and asked very politely, “Is there anything else, Ma’am?”
The Trill’s glare hardened slightly as she tried to bore a hole through Megan with her eyes, but Megan simply held her ground, with a clear, polite expression planted firmly on her face.
Finally, Commander Meri answered, “Attend to your station, Cadet.”
Nodding politely, Megan acknowledged, “Yes, Commander.” as she turned back to the science station. She took a few deep breathes to calm her racing heart. Fighting hard to calm herself down, Megan sent a nice, quiet, inconspicuous message to Alex informing him that the shuttle needed repairs, before focusing her attention back on the warbird. As she did so, the sensors began to light up.
“Commander, the warbird just beamed a group of people to the Hanson. They’re in cargo bay 1.” Megan reported, but before Commander Meri could respond, Megan added, “They’ve also just beamed over a dozen barrels to their cargo bay from the outpost, and it looks like they’re preparing to go to warp, Ma’am.”

Westgate had been watching the proceedings on the bridge with some little disgust. The shuttle was on its way back with a whole crew and little damage, which was a good thing. And his thoughts had turned to Cadet Grey, and his eyes lit up, wondering about her and if her experience had been positive for her. He was looking forward to talking with her again, and just having her around. She was a delightful young lady, and for that he was thankful.
Not so for the cantankerous old buzzard who occupied the Captain's chair. The longer she intimidated the crew on the bridge, the more did Westgate fume. Her anger or intolerance or whatever was the source of her angst was clearly out of order here, and Westgate finally had had enough.
Putting on his best Southern charm, he said casually, "Well, Commander, I do believe if'n ye had a shotgun, ye couldn't be more outta place. The young'un here, Cadet Garrett, that is, has done a fine competent job and is a-goin' to make a fine officer. Cain't hardly say the same for you, though. Why, I've half a mind to remove ye right quick from that command you're abusin.' I don't know what the dadblame is wrong with ye, but ye got no right, command or no, to treat people in sech a way. So stand down, Ma'am, or I'll have ye removed from the bridge."
Commander Meri's mouth opened once, her veins popped and throbbed, and she was just on the verge of a reply when Cadet Garrett interrupted.
Lash! "I knew it! Ma'am, with all due respect to ye, we got to stop that dadgum warbird now. There's a criminal on board, and he's a-makin' away with some dangerous contraband. Ilium, if I don't miss my guess."
Westgate winked at Garrett before turning back around and seating himself once more, awaiting the Commander's orders.

At Cmdr. Manto's suggestion to take Bekkah to sickbay, Lucy gingerly slipped her arm under Bekkah's legs, repositioned the little girl's head onto her shoulder, holding her gently but firmly. This way, Cadet Grey was able to stand without waking the child. A path parted to allow the counselor to leave the shuttle without bumping into anything.
A sharpe pain raced up Lucy's arm. The bandage had kept her broken wrist immobile but the slight weight now resting on it proved to be too much.
Two muscled arms mercifully reached forward and took the sleeping youngster from Lucy.
Smiling, a man in security yellow put Bekkah onto his shoulder, speaking in a normal voice to Lucy, "They usually don't wake up once they fall asleep. She's been through a lot, I take it?"
It was a question and lucy felt obliged to answer. So as they walked toward the nearest turbolift, Lucy told him what had happened. He nodded encouragingly everytime she faltered over some detail or other. By the time the 'lift doors swooshed open across from sickbay's reception area, he knew everything there was to know.
:sickbay: Cadet Grey looked around as the nurse read her bio signs. A motor assist band was being placed over her wrist to help the bone heal.
"Nurse, do you know where Dr. Westgate is?"
"On the bridge, I would imagine."
"Oh, of course," Lucy said softly. "I need to write out my report and I think I'm going to need his help. Do reports get easier to write after a while?"
The nurse smiled as she set the medical equipment tray aside. "Yes. Don't worry, there's a form to fill out. Just answer the questions and let yourself remember what happened. I think of it as my own personal debriefing."

“I’ll be right there, Alex out.” and he headed toward the turbolift. “Deck 10” and as soon as the turbolift doors opened he headed out towards the shuttle with a tricorder in hand. After his inspection of the shuttle he pressed his com badge and said “Alex to the captain the shuttle received some damage it will take about … 5 minutes to repair.” “Get to it.” Drew said, “Yes sir.” And then Alex double pressed his com badge and said “Alex to engineering get a team of 8 down here we’ll need to work on the shuttle.” “Yes sir.” Came his response.
2 minutes 39 seconds later
Alex pressed his com badge “Alex to captain we’re finished here.”

Crystal tried her best to stay out of the Trill Commander's way, but that wasn't that hard to do. Crystal didn't know what Commander Meri's deal was. But she didn't mind her nearly as much as practically everyone else on the bridge seemed to. Because if Crystal did her job and didn't make any social overtures, Commander Meri didn't feel any need to talk to Crystal. Which was fine by Crystal, as she didn't like the Trill Commander. She just didn't see how arguing would help.
But then, Crystal was just Navigator, so not really worth being badgered, especially when the ship wasn't moving. When she was ordered to increase the speed with which the Hanson made its way to the outpost, she did so, though, quickly. Although she had to wonder when Commander Meri said that the cadets were a priority, and the officers should not be rescued. After all, it was very well-known, by most people who'd served on the Hanson for more than a month, just how much Commanders Meri and Hope did not get along. However, even the Commander had to have more sense than to let that get in the way of her duty. Or at least Crystal hoped so, because otherwise it didn't matter what had given Meri her post on the Hanson, she wasn't going to keep it for much longer.
The Hanson dropped out of warp to hang near the outpost and collect its wayward crewmembers. Which was a welcome relief, since Crystal didn't like missing a good part of the crew into a situation that had turned dangerous. That meant that, so long as Commander Hope was fine, she might be coming back up to the bridge, and sending Commander Meri back to wherever it was the night XO spent her off-duty hours. Somehow Crystal doubted that they were spent socializing.
But Commander Westgate had more pressing matters to talk about, mostly those concerning a Romulan warbird and some Ilium. “I knew it! Ma'am, with all due respect to ye, we got to stop that dadgum warbird now. There's a criminal on board, and he's a-makin' away with some dangerous contraband. Ilium, if I don't miss my guess.”
“Do you wish to follow, Ma'am?” Crystal asked, keeping her tone carefully neutral. She knew it was better to leave the decision up to Commander Meri. Things on the bridge went smoother that way. Even if Crystal could have made the decision herself. And was setting in the coordinates for if Commander Meri chose to chase the Romulan Warbird. That way there wouldn't be any necessary delay.

Just as soon as the Graeme was docked safely, and Cadet James rushed up with his maintenance team to fix her up, S'reena dismissed the cadets that had been along for the ride to their duties. "Konal, accompany Miss Grey to sickbay, assist her with the child." She tapped her combadge. "Doctor Westgate, your assistance is required in sickbay, please report at once."
She nodded towards the two women. "Expert help is on the way. Konal if Salek happens to be off duty, I want you to help Michael in any way you can. You're the only one besides him who has the proper medical knowledge."
She tapped D'Ville and Sol on the shoulders. "Gentlemen, you're with me to the bridge. Crystal will be pleased to be relieved, so that you can practice keeping the Hanson in once piece again. D'Ville, once we get to the bridge, send all the information we gathered onward to Conqueror."
The second the small group entered the bridge, S'reena was yanked roughly aside and smacked up against the wall. She gasped for breath, momentarily fearing she was under attack. "What took you so long," Dharma spat at her, "having all the fun were you? Going off on your own again? I thought you were ordered to stay together."
S'reena shook the Trill off, a look of cold fury on her face. She took the Trill by the front of her uniform and lifted her up until she was forced to stand on the tip of her toes. "Leave me alone Dharma, you're relieved."
Dharma gulped in disbelief. "You can't do that."
"Oh yes I can," S'reena sneered, "I am after all the first officer, and with Admiral Drew off duty, I am in charge. And I am still on duty, so that makes me capable of removing you from your duties. Now, you have the choice of retiring to your quarters quietly, or being thrown in the brig for assault."
The Trill glared right back at the Romulan, thumped her painfully in the side before heading towards the turbolift. Rubbing her side and shoulders, S'reena sighed as she walked towards her seat. "All right, Garrett, report! What has been going on with the Warbird? We noticed the red alert, what is their status?"

Ashley got the PaDD from his holder on his back and downloaded all the data from the tricorder on his hip. He place the PaDD downa nd got teh tricorder and turn teh auto-signal off.
'Computer, open mission report this stardate' he downloaded the data from the PaDD into it then add all the sensor data from the Grahame and the Hanson herself. He added a cover file explaining the data.
'Commander Hope all data added do you wish to add anymore to it.' the young Cadet asked.
Hope fowned for a second then ordered 'Just send it as is.' Ashley thought he saw something in the Commander's eyes for just a second.
'Report sent Comander.' after a few keystrokes.
It had been a strange time on the station, he was placed in events that he didnt expect and did actions that he didnt wish to do again. This as a good team here his fellow cadet was good and they would be a credit to any ship that was assigned to in the future. Listening to the old tales of his grandfather K'ytol who was Captain of the IKV Bloodsword had worked. He was twice honoured with the Order of The Ba'Leth once in the Romlan Wars of the 23rd Century and the Cardassian Border wars of the earlier 24th.
'I have to reread all the captain's logs againa nd see if I can learn any more tactics' he muttered to his self.

Commander Westgate’s kind words caused Megan’s face to grow warm. It had been the first real compliment she’d received so far, and since he was one of only three officers who had mentioned anything about how she was doing, she would take Commander Westgate over the T’lal or Meri any day. Besides, she was fairly certain the Lieutenant science officer’s “compliment” had been more of an automatic reflection of what he’d seen other instructors say to other cadets before and not an actual compliment. She’d also had to try to suppress a smile as the counselor winked at her behind Commander Meri’s back. She hoped that he proved that not all officers would be quite so…difficult to deal with as the Trill.
Commander Meri looked positively furious, as Megan was starting to realize was normal. Between Megan refusing to stay in line and Commander Westgate’s speech, she appeared to be ready to murder the next person who looked at her wrong. However, something of Commander Westgate’s speech seemed to have gotten through, as she ordered, “Helm, prepare to go to warp. Follow the warbird as closely as possible.” The warbird jumped into warp as she spoke.
Megan looked up standard specs on the warbird, and found that their maximum speed was warp 9. They were capable of going up to warp 9.6, but that would permanently damage the warp core. The Intrepid class Hanson would easily be able to keep up, but as Megan opened her mouth to report her findings, she found herself unwilling to face the Commander again, so she simply shut up.
Dr. Westgate left for sickbay, as ordered, and a few moments later, the turbolift doors opened again, and Megan glanced over to see Cadets Sol and D’Ville following Commander Hope onto the bridge. She’d never been so glad to see anyone in her life. To her horror, Commander Meri leapt from the command chair, headed straight for Commander Hope, and slammed her against the wall.
"What took you so long?" Dharma spat at her. "Having all the fun were you? Going off on your own again? I thought you were ordered to stay together!" She had Commander Hope pinned for a few seconds, as Commander Hope was obviously surprised by the physical attack to say the least. Megan automatically reached for where her phaser would be holstered, but of course it wasn’t there.
S'reena shook the Trill off, a look of cold fury on her face. She picked Commander Meri up by the front of her uniform and lifted her up until she was forced to stand on the tip of her toes. "Leave me alone, Dharma; you're relieved."
Dharma gulped in disbelief and replied, "You can't do that."
The Trill glared right back at the Romulan and pulled herself back out of her grip, elbowing her painfully in the side in the process, before heading towards the turbolift. Rubbing her side and shoulders, S'reena sighed and headed towards her seat and ordered, "All right, Garrett, report! What has been going on with the warbird? We noticed the red alert, what is their status?"
Shaking herself out of her shock, Megan replied, “The warbird just went to warp, and we are in pursuit. Commander Westgate believes that a man named Lash is onboard trying to make away with some Ilium. Before they went to warp, they beamed over a dozen containers onto their ship from the outpost and a group of people into our cargo bay.” She stopped short of informing her about the warbird’s speed, not out of fear but because, as a Romulan herself, she should know what the warbirds specs and limitations were as far as Megan was concerned.
As she reported, Cadet D’Ville had moved to science station two and had been working on something. She heard him say something to the computer, but as she had been speaking at the moment, she hadn’t heard what he’d said. As soon as she finished her report, he spoke up. “Commander Hope, all data added. Do you wish to add anymore to it?” he asked. Commander Hope frowned for a second and then ordered “Just send it as is.”
Ashley turned back to his station and a few moments later, said, “Report sent, Commander.” He continued to work at science station two, and as Megan continued her own work at science station one, she heard him mutter something to himself.
Smiling slightly at her fellow Cadet's idiosyncrasies, Megan continued tracking the warbird on her sensors. She wondered briefly where her instructor was, but figured she would most likely be returning to the bridge soon.

Daya was on his way back to the bridge after dealing with the sabatour, he was roughly pushed aside by a rather angry looking Trill officer, Commander Meri of course. Daya didnt say a word as he rubbed his shoulder and entered the bridge. He went up to his console and looked around, everyone was doing something, that was good. Daya hadnt quite heard what was happening, so he looked alittle lost at first, until he looked down at his screen and starting running diagnostics to keep his mind busy.

Still in sickbay, Cadet Grey was sitting and gazing around the room, occasionally kicking her heels against the side of the hard bed. As a patient, she was not allowed to assist with any of the minor injuries or to start counseling Bekkah. If the little girl was able to speak with someone as soon as she woke up it would help her tremendously.
Bekkah needed to accept the deaths of her parents. It would take time and she needed to be allowed to bond with someone else to complete the healing.
A nurse, about 45 years old, came to stand next to Lucy's bed, speaking quietly, "Counselor Grey, I know it's unusual but we have a young cadet that's gone sour. He wasn't brought in soon enough." The nurse paused then continued, "Dr. Westgate is on his way down... I don't think the cadet is going to last. Can you talk to him? Keep him calm? Doctor's orders are to make him comfortable."
Panic threatened to flood Lucy's senses. Her first 'real' case. Lucy swallowed then took a deep breath. She looked to the sickbay doors willing Dr. Westgate to enter right at that particular time. He didn't and Lucy continued to scan the room looking for Cmdr. Manto. The commander was in deep conversation with the CMO.
Lucy nodded in the nurse's general direction and slipped off the bed, holding her wrist against her chest, keeping the break just above her heart to minimize the pain. No matter how much pain reliever they gave her, it never really got rid of the pain. It just caused Lucy to not care about it.
Cadet Grey was led around a privacy wall where a white faced young man lay. His eyes were open, his body stiff. The neat, round hole in his chest was only the entrance wound. Lucy knew the exit hole was twice that size. Directly under the heart, probably clipping a pulmonary vein.
He was thin *downright skinny,* Lucy said to herself as she reached out and took his hand.
"What's your name, cadet?" she asked.
"Bill. ...William... Bounty. My mom... I'm all she has."
Not wanting to lie, but knowing that it wouldn't make any difference, Lucy said, "You'll be heading home soon. Don't worry." *That's not exactly a lie, not really,* Lucy thought, her face not showing her worry.
A cough escaped the boy's throat. Then his eyes went wide with wonder at something near the ceiling. Lucy's gaze followed his and when she looked back, the nurse was closing his dead eyes. She then pulled the cover up to his chin. He looked more like he was sleeping, which was the purpose.
As Counselor Grey turned to leave, she found herself face to face with Dr. Westgate. His arms opened and she took the one step into them. Her head against his chest, Lucy marveled at the compassion eminating from him.

The Graeme was back. The bridge, finally, was relaxed and efficient again. The warbird was being seen to, and all that remained for Westgate was to see to the casualties. He was a medical doctor, first and foremost, and felt a need to be in sickbay to help treat the injured. He was about to ask the dispeptic Commander if he could be excused whe a message came over his comm telling him to report to sickbay anyway, so as quickly as he could, he excused himself and headed down that way.
He was looking very much forward to being with Cadet Grey again, to see what she'd learned, to see if she was ok, simply to see her. She was, to his way of thinking, an outstanding Cadet as much as she was an outstanding young woman. He would miss her very deeply once the Hanson was back at the Star Base. There were only a few precious days left.
When he entered sickbay, he caught the eye of a nurse, who, recognizing his caduceus pin as well as his counselor's status, motioned with her head to a side room. When he headed that way, she smiled and nodded.
Softly he came to the doorway, to see Cadet Grey with a young man there who was obviously near to his own death. Westgate stopped to watch as the young man died and a nurse entered. Grey stood, looking disconsolate, and Westgate understood what she was feeling immediately. Opening his arms to her, she came near and rested her head against his chest. He saw that her arm was damaged, and as she became close, he felt her breath hitch.
He wanted to say something. "It ain't never easy, Lucy, to let people go. But sometimes, in spite of all our advances, they go anyway. The young man ain't a-hurtin' no more--an' I don't want you a-hurtin' neither."
She turned her head an looked up at him, tears glistening in her eyes. Before she could speak, he pushed her away from him, holding her at arm's length. "Let's see that arm, young lady."
Gingerly she held it out for his inspection. With his fingertips tenderly moving about on her wrist, he could detect some unevenness where bones protruded under the skin. No complete breaks, but there was damage, certainly. He kissed two of his fingertips and touched them to her wrist. Winking at her, he said, softly, "Alternative medicine." He then walked her to a scanning device, got the details of the damage, and proceeded to wrap it to immobilize it. "Couple of days, Cadet, an' your wing'll be good as new. Care to help me now with the other injured?"
She nodded and thanked him, and then moved to help Westgate and Dr Hope see if they could retore the broken limbs and feelings and other things that doctors fix. And all the while he worked, he watched young Lucille Grey, and knew in his heart that she was indeed a special young woman.

As soon as the shuttle was done being repaired Alex heard his combadge chirp “engineering to Alex” “Alex here” “we just went to warp 9 I thought you should know.” “Very well I’ll get to engineering.” And with that Alex left deck 10 and went to deck 11 after entering he went to a station and sat down while monitoring all systems. ‘We can hold warp 9 for 10 hrs ’ he thought as he continued to monitor all the systems.
OOC: sorry for not logging in for the last 3 days I was on a unexpected LOA (in fact I got 5 min notice)

S'reena nodded in approval as D'Ville sent his report off to Starfleet, sending a copy to Drew's quarters as well. "Status on the warbird?" she querried, just as the mighty Romulan vessel jumped to warp. High warp at that. Even though James just reported from engineering that they could sustain warp 9, when she ordered that speed the warp engines did absolutely nothing.
"James we have a problem!" S'reena snapped into the open comlink, "you say we have warp. Why are we not jumping to warp?"
Whirling around in her chair, she shot a glare at both science cadets. "Track the bird!" she ordered, though from the looks on their faces she already concluded they had already lost track.
"Crystal, Sol, give me best possible speed. Get us back to Conqueror and inform them that we have lost our quarry. Someone else will have to go after them, we have survivors we need to get back to safety. They are as of now our priority."
Irritated, S'reena drummed her fingers on the armrest of her seat. She was once again outsmarted by her own people, and it irritated her to no end. "Also, I want starfleet informed that the bird is commanded by a wanted villain. Commander Manto will be able to tell security more about them." She glared at Daya, even though there was absolutely no menace in her glare.
"And someone get Admiral Drew back to the bridge!"

The problem with the warp drive obviously irritated the first officer, as she snapped, "James we have a problem! You say we have warp. Why are we not jumping to warp?" over the open commlink to Engineering.
Instead of listening to Alex’s response, Megan winced in momentary sympathy for him, so she was unprepared when Commander Hope turned her frustration towards the science stations and ordered, "Track the bird!"
Briefly stunned, Megan glanced at her screen where she already had the information on the warbird displayed, but during her slight hesitation, the Commander had already turned her attention to other bridge stations.
While the first officer was giving orders elsewhere, Megan glanced back and forth between Commander Hope and the warbird’s status on her screen, waiting for the opportunity to report. The last thing she wanted to do was interrupt.
"And someone get Admiral Drew back to the bridge!" S’reena ordered.
After waiting an appropriate amount of time to make sure that was her final order for the time being, Megan was about ready to report to warbird’s status, when the readings vanished from her screen.
Frowning slightly, Megan ran a few scans trying to locate the ship before realizing they’d probably cloaked. She considered reporting this to Commander Hope, but with the mood she was apparently in, Megan decided she’d better at least try to find a way to track the ship under cloak first.
Glancing at Ashley, who seemed just as engrossed in his consol as she had been, Megan decided to send him a message. Between the two of them, she was certain they would be able to track the cloaked vessel and, if not exactly please, at least pacify the irritated Romulan.
D’Ville, Any ideas about how to track the warbird now that it’s cloaked? Garrett
Once the message was sent, Megan started to come up with a few idea of her own, the first of which was to scan for the subspace variance often seen in warbirds at high warp speed. However, Megan was fairly certain that the warbird had dropped to below warp 6 to remain undetected. Still, it was worth a try.

"I'll be sure to contact Ms. Kanz about this," she said, chastising the young engineering lieutenant. Of course, Lucy was always busy, and her threat would probably remain a threat.
Massaging the bruise on the top of her head, placed squarely above her right eye, she she continued to sickbay. Had she not been knocked out for five minutes, with a frantic lieutenant trying to decide whether he would call sickbay and divulge that he wasn't where he was supposed to be during a red alert, or revive the Commander and hope she wasn't too mad.
"Sorry I'm late," she said, hand on top of the tender spot. "Do you have a subdermal regenerator?" The nurse came by and questioned her painful winces. Konal remained silent as she administered treatment to herself. The Outpost... *sigh* ... the outpost never had much of a medical team, and she had learned to do most of this herself.
"Cadet Gre... Oh... didn't mean to bother you two." she amended her original statement with a disapproving glare to Dr. Westgate. Clearly there was nothing to be said for professionalism... but since when did anything on this ship go by the book? -- Chief Engineer too busy to fix things -- Science cadets giving tactical orders -- Tactical cadets foiling security actions -- engineers not paying attention while running around corners -- *rubs her head again* -- illium explosions... All these thoughts rolled through her head as she made her way toward Bekkah, who had told the nurse she wanted to speak to someone.
<someone finish this bekkah thing! lol! Help!>

Ashley was working at his console after sending the report to Starfleet and Admiral Drew. When a message popped up on his screen.
D’Ville, Any ideas about how to track the warbird now that it’s cloaked? Garrett
He glanced up at Megan and smiled at her.
He return the message.
Garrett Tactyons, I set the lateral sensors to look for tactyon eddies. As teh warbirds moves at low speed the impulse engine gas mix with the tactyons off the cloaking device. D'Ville
D'Ville set the laterals to scan for spinning tactyons, that problem was they still spinned at light speed, so their turning circle was huge, in the region of 1/4 of a light year.
The sensors at had dim trail head to the Neutral Zone at warp 4.5. He sent the data to Megan.
Garrett Got him. Dinner later? I will cook. D'Ville

The momentary comfort of Dr. Westgate's arms was gone but her wrist felt better even if it was all in her mind. What wasn't was the other patients and her inability to use two hands.
So, she spent time helping in small ways, giving those that could chew a dental nyassa to ensure clean teeth. Over the space of the next hour, she moved naturally into her role as counselor.
"I want my mommy," Bekkah whined from the impromptu pediatric wing. The nurse understood that to mean she wanted to talk to someone.
Cadet Grey and Cmdr. Manto reached the little girl at the same moment.
Her lip quivering, Bekkah asked petulantly, "Is my daddy here?"
Lucy looked to the commander, knowing her experience would help with the situation. Then she turned to Bekkah, saying, "Bekkah, would you like to go to the mess hall with Cmdr. Manto and me to get some ice cream?"
Over the child's head, Lucy shrugged her shoulders as if to say, "I'm not sure what else to do right now."
Counselor Grey wasn't a child's counselor by any means. She knew it was important to allow children to gradually accept the death of a parent... in this case, both parents. She also knew she didn't have to mention the deaths again. Bekkah would remember in her own time. What was necessary was to make her feel comfortable and cared for.
"Cmdr. Manto," Lucy said quietly as they put Bekkah on the floor and moved to the doorway, "we need to arrange a foster family for her. If it can be set up before we get back to Conquerer, it will help, I think."

Methos sat at the helm of the Newly commissioned USS Revelation, a modified Type 11 Shuttle he had recieved from a friend who had the shuttle commisioned for Methos' birthday. He is enroute to Star Base Conqueror from Planet Earth. He took a leave of absence from the Hanson to attend to personal matters.
The computer was instructed to inform Methos when they were an hour from the Star Base. Methos was napping when the computer chimed and let him know they were approaching the point at which Methos would have to drop out of warp. He did and brought the shuttle to 1/4 impulse.
Minutes later, Methos got clearence to dock his shuttle in one of the various shuttle-bays. After he had powered down, he inquired as to when the Hanson was due back. The answer he got was that they were due with in a week or so.
Methos had left the shuttle-bay and headed to his Star Base quarters and changed to something more confortable.

"James we have a problem!" S'reena snapped into the open comlink, "you say we have warp. Why are we not jumping to warp?" “One of the warp coils was phasered, I’ll just have to replace it.” And as he was speaking he went the replactor and pressed a few buttons, then he took the new warp coil and replaced them after a few seconds we started to go to warp but it wasn’t what Alex had expected, as soon as they went to warp the ship shook a little but only a little, but Alex ignored this as he knew that this was normal having just put a new one in.
