"Sir," announced William, "I'm not picking up any sort of distress signal. However, there are significant debries in orbit that could have been part of a shuttlecraft. But they don't account for all of it. I suspect Nogura's ship was critically damaged, and was destroyed on the way to Earth's surface. Of it could just be so damaged all its electrical systems have gone off-line. I can give you an estimate of where he is, based on the age of the debries, where the Earth would have been at the time Nogura arrived, and where he probably tried to land."
TJ nodded. "Please do. Any idea why his ship was damaged?"
"Much smaller than ours," commented O'Connor. "It might not have been able to handle the stress of getting here as well as we did."
William quickly completed the calculations, which were somewhat alarming. "Sir, Nogura has been here for almost two weeks. He's somewhere in Europe, close to what would eventually become the north shores of France though he might have tried for the UK, or anywhere else within a couple hundred kilometers."

“We still have the probes ready,” Crystal says. “I think we could send them out to explore the general area, find out about the area, it is possible that this isn’t merely a temporal and spatial wormhole, there could be other aspects. This may not be the Earth of 1342 that we know. I don’t think it would do any harm to send out the probes, we could find out some useful information, and as long as they don’t crash into anything, or come between the Earth and the sun, we should keep from violating the temporal prime directive,” Crystal suggests, and waits to see how people will respond.
William didn't register her comments, then looked at her. "Could you repeat that? I was a little busy, sorry..." Crystal patiently repeated her words. "I see your point. We could have wandered into another universe, though the positions of stars and everything else our sensors tell us leads me to believe we have merely travled back in time. But its a good idea. Check those probes, make sure they are still ready for launch - I went through an anomaly once before, and it messed up our launching mechanisms for the probes." While Crystal checked on the probes, William got permission from TJ to launch them. "Go ahead, Cadet. I like your idea about the possibility we may not be in a secure, familiar enviornment. Pursue your theory. I need to try and specify where our friend landed."
Crystal glanced at William, wondering how traveling hundreds of years into the past could be seen as a familiar, secure enviornment.

So good to have you back, Commander. ;D
Well, if that was the closest time frame they could get to Sam Nogura upon their arrival, they would have to work with it. As it was, two weeks was incredibly – and thankfully – close.
“Very well, then, Mr. Ford. We’ll be workin’ from th’ northernmost position of a circle with a radius o’ 3000 kilometers an’ work our way spiraling inward t’ th’ center. Put th’ center on those northern shores o’ France,” TJ ordered.
“Lay in me spiral course, maintain an altitude o’ seven thousand kilometers above sea level.”
In moments the Hepta, moving inconspicuously to any surface viewer, was in its starting position.
“Proceed, Mr. Bern,” TJ said with a casual forward flick of his wrist that belied his concern.

OCC: Sorry for the lack of posting, as with everybody else I had a busy holidays. I am back home now so my posting should become normal again.
Hawk had watched his cadets work as hard as he could and he felt a great deal of pride. It seemed that answers had been coming in almost instantly once the Hepta crossed through the temporal anomaly. It turned out the anomaly was more than just a temporal tear in space but a worm hole as well.
Double checking the ships systems had now become Hawk's main priority, as much as finding a lost Federation citizen was a priority to the Captain, Hawk would not be able to let any systems go down.
Looking over the nearest console Hawk began to run scans on the various ships systems for damage reports, and power distributions problems.
"Cadet, do me a favor and continue to monitor these read outs, please inform me if you find any damaged systems. We will want to repair them right away."

“Proceed, Mr. Bern,” the captain said, and Seth started the spiral course.
"Spriral course initiated Captain," Seth reported, and checked his altitude.
He knew that if they were spotted by the civilians on the surface, there would be an enormous riot, but luckily it was a cloudy day, and the altitude should be high enough to prevent anyone from seeing the big vessel orbiting the earth.
Seth was curious whether they would find anything, and as the Hepta was flying it's route at a speed that seemed ridiculously slow, he waited for a word from the science station.

Crystal launches the probes, but she won’t get the results back for a while, so she turns to her instructor to see if he has anything he wants her to do while she waits.
"Cadet, do me a favor and continue to monitor these read outs, please inform me if you find any damaged systems. We will want to repair them right away."
“Yes sir,” Crystal replies. As she is scanning, the some information starts to come in from the probe. “Commander Ford?” she asks. “Everything that I’ve seen so far checks out, we appear at the least to be in the same universe. But at this point in Earth’s development, I’m not sure it would be that easy to tell, so I can’t be sure. But most of the signs seem to point to the fact that we haven’t shifted universes.
<Tag Commander Ford>
After his reply, she notices something that is coming up from the diagnostics of the ship. “There appears to be a slight problem with the replicator,” she says, again checking the results to make sure she is correct, and is fairly certain that she is.

Kari rubbed her forehead. Another blasted headache brewing. Great she thought to herself. She tilted her head as she lstened to her fellow Engineering Cadet's report. She glanced at Cmdr. Hawk and gave him a nod. "I'll go check on that, sir." she stated.
<tag Cmdr. Hawk>
She gave a curt nod and pivoted towards the closest turbolift. She closed her eyes and started to strengthen her mental barrars. Too much was getting through and all she wanted was to make it through the day with out a full blown migraine. For once.
She opened her eyes as the turbolift came to a halt on the specified deck. She glanced around. She still wasn't quite familar with where everything was on this ship and took a few minutes to get her bearings. With that done she quickly found out the faulty replicator. She gave it a quick once over trying to se if she could find the problem with out tearing it apart. THat didn't pan out. So she was onto taking the thing apart. Quickly the front of the replicator was on the deck and Kari burined with in the innards of it. She quickly found the fried circutry. A snip there and a hotwiring job there had the replicator powered back. Now to see if it worked. She sat up a tad bit to fast and craked her forehead against the edge of the opening.
"God..Mother.." she muttered under her breath. There went not having a headache.
She fitted the front of the replicator back on and secured, all the while quietly muttering things that quickly brought into question the replicator's ancestry.
Satisfied with her work she quickly ordered a cup of coffee. Taking it from the replicator she took a sip and gave a slight grimace. Well, good news, it worked, bad news...it didn't quite taste right. She shrugged and tapped her combadge.
"Mercia to Shinsei, how's the readout now?"

Welcome back, Ms. Mercia. ;D "Captain, my scans don't show anything yet, but that doesn't mean anything, our sensors are shot and until we can repair them we will not know the full story," Jason said. TJ's face contorted briefly in a light scowl at this news. He knew it was not the Operations Officer's fault – how could it be? And he was certain repairs would be completed at the earliest possible moment.
"Very well, me boyo. Then do what ye can t' keep me informed on anything lookin' like modern energy outbursts, however dim, that ye might be seein'.
"In th' meantime, any other ideas on how we might be shavin' off time in finding Mr. Nogura – from anyone – will be earnin' ye an extra twinkie from th' Mess Hall!"
TJ hoped the slight humor might ease the tension on the Bridge. And who knows? Perhaps an efficient, if creative idea, might be presented on how they might locate the Norgura boy.

"Oh, I love twinkies," said William. "I would suggest beaming down a bunch of away teams and looking for the crash site, but that could take a while. I'm sure there are faster ways..."

"Mercia to Shinsei, how's the readout now?"
“Better than it was before,” Crystal responds, the replicators are still far from perfect, but at least they work. “But I think that might be as good as it can get, given our current circumstances, and without draining undue power from more vital parts of the ship.” Crystal wishes briefly that she could be the one fixing problems, since she feels more at use when she is actively doing something, rather than simply monitoring readouts.
"In th' meantime, any other ideas on how we might be shavin' off time in finding Mr. Nogura – from anyone – will be earnin' ye an extra twinkie from th' Mess Hall!" Captain Edwards says.
Crystal isn’t sure what a twinkie is, and she can’t think of a good way to find Mr. Nogura faster, but the fact that twinkies are involved doesn’t change the situation for her. She will do anything she can to help, but she’s not sure that she can do anything. “Would it be possible to scan for the materials that the shuttle is made out of, since Earth of this time period shouldn’t have an abundance of them, especially the artificially created ones?” Crystal asks, not sure if she is on the right path for discovering a way to find the person stuck on Earth, but she thinks it would be a good thing if they could rescue him as soon as possible, and she’s willing to do anything she can do to help with that.

Kari walked on to the bridge as she heard her counterpart's statement. She loked around breifly puzzled. Then figured out that it had to have been a question about locating the man they'd been sent to find.
She gave a slow nod, thinking. that was a start. What if they took a step further? What was different about Mr. NOgura? What exactly was different about humans of thier century then of the ones in this Century?
She wasn't all that sure. She wasn't familar all that much with Terran history. She had lived on Earth for four years and had never ventured to figure out it's history. The more she thought about it the more she was certain Cadet Shinsei was on the right track. She decided to speak up.
"Cadet Shinsei may be right. If we locate the shuttle we could perhaps narrow the search down considerably. If I remember correctly, Earth of this time was not very technologically advanced. They relied on.." she paused thinking of how to phrase it, "well, simple modes of transportation. So they would be able to travel far. If we got the location of the shuttle, we could send an away team down and look for him in the surrounding area."
Kari shifted, uncomfortably as she realized people were looking at her. It was the most she'd said since arriving on board the Hepta. She shifted nervously. The extremely quiet young woman glanced down at the console in front of her, waiting to hear what was said.
Well they had asked for ideas and Shinsei's seemed to be the best. I just backed her up with reasoning. she thought silently

“There appears to be a slight problem with the replicator,"Cadet Shinsei said.
"Nothing too major," Hawk started.
"I'll go check on that, sir." Cadet Mercia spoke up looking as if she had a slight problem.
"Alright Cadet, if you have any problems report back to me." Hawk said before turning his attention to the various ship wide diagnostics that were being done.
The computer chimed letting Hawk know the last of the ship wide diagnostics were completed. Looking them over he was pleasantly surprised to see that almost everything was in order.
"Aside from a rough ride though time the only problems we have are a few bugs in our replicators.
"In th' meantime, any other ideas on how we might be shavin' off time in finding Mr. Nogura – from anyone – will be earnin' ye an extra twinkie from th' Mess Hall!"
"Sir, we should have his bio information in the ships medical database. Once we find the crash sight it would be only a matter of hours to completely scan an given area on the planet and locate him, we could then send in a recovery team to extract our missing citizen." Hawk said.

TJ's face brightened. The cadet had come up with a plan that was definitely on the right track!Kari gave a slow nod. ...
"Cadet Shinsei may be right. If we locate the shuttle we could perhaps narrow the search down considerably. If I remember correctly, Earth of this time was not very technologically advanced. Kari shifted uncomfortably [at her station]. "Excellent, cadets! Provided we can be gettin' th' sensors t' give us reliable readin's, I'm for goin' with your idea."
With Cadets Shinsei's suggestion and Mercia's comment, things were looking far more promising. A solution – a good solution – had been presented. The computer chimed letting Hawk know the last of the ship-wide diagnostics were completed. Looking them over, he was pleasantly surprised to see that almost everything was in order. ...

It appeared far more likely now that there would be a successful end to their mission, provided Mr. Nogura had survived the crash and was able to hide his futurity from the locals.
"Ladies an' gentlemen, a door of opportunity has been opened for us. An' I'm for goin' through it!"
He pressed a button on his chair.
"Dr. Mackler, access for me th' biosigns of our target, Sam Nogura. Download 'em into a medical tricorder an' have it ready with someone from your department for away team duty."
=^= Acknowledged, Captain. =^=
Another button clicked under TJ's fingers.
"Commander Parker, prepare a couple representatives from your department for away team duty. Come yourself if you'd like. Meet in Transporter Room Two at my signal."
=^= You'll have security there, Captain. =^=
"Operations, begin scannin' for th' materials of Mr. Nogura's shuttlecraft. Once that's located, switch into a search for his biosigns radiatin' out from that point.
"Shipmates... let's be goin' through that door!"

When Cadet Mercia speaks her suggestion, Crystal notices that she seems rather uneasy. Crystal herself is never really uncomfortable under the scrutiny of other people, but she has a good deal of experience with it. Crystal realizes that she hasn’t gotten a chance to really talk to the other Cadets on the ship, not even the other engineering one, and Crystal hopes that they might get a chance to talk at some point as well as perhaps with the instructors, because Crystal always likes to know who she is serving with.
Crystal is relieved that, from a combination of ideas, the members of the ship are able to come up with a feasible way of finding the missing person.
Crystal guesses that while people are being sent down to rescue Nogura, she will stay on the ship, probably with the rest of the engineering staff, to make sure that the ship would be able to go back through the rift. Crystal glances down at the system diagnostic again, and sees that there is nothing that has been damaged that hasn't been repaired as best as possible.

With the procedure for locating Sam Nogura laid in, Xin-Ling knew that there would likely be need for at least a small security/marine contingent to accompany the landing party to earth. She tapped her comm badge and said, "All security and marine cadets, be prepared to transport to the earth's surface on the Captain's orders.

When Methos, heard the communication from Commander Chan, he gathered his gear from his locker on the Marine and sat there, making sure his phasers were set to stun, then he went to his quarters and told the clothing replicator that he wanted some clothing that would 'fit in' with the time that they were currently at. He put the brown cloak, the tan tunic, and the dark brown trousers on. He went to the wall where he had placed his medievil weapons. He picked out a long sword and a dagger, he quickly replicated a sheath for both and a belt to put them on. He put the belt on and hooked both sheaths onto it. He then put his phaser holster on the back of the belt. He took the sword out of its sheath and began polishing it.
After he was done, he went to one of the holodecks and told the computer he wanted to be somewhere in western Europe during the 14th century. He had the computer put in some of the peoples that were from the same time and same place. He then tapped his commbade, =/\=Commanders Bern and MacHeath, would you please come to Holodeck 1. Seth was busy studying Europe's 14th century, and found out a lot of interesting stuff about wars going on and in particular the invasion of England by the french, or was it the other way around? Seth had not been able to find that out yet, because at that point he was interrupted by a message from a cadet.
=/\=Commanders Bern and MacHeath, would you please come to Holodeck 1. I have something that I want to show you.=/\=
Seth was very curious to find out what cadet Methos was talking about. He decided to go to MacHeath's quarters and pick him up on his way to the holodeck.
It didn't take them long to arrive at the holodeck, and they saw Methos standing outside.
"What do you want to show us cadet?" MacHeath inquired.

When Commanders Bern and MacHeath arrived, Methos said, "Well, sir, as you can tell by the way I am dressed, I have come up with a training program that will teach the Security and Marine Personal how to fight while we are on the surface. Now if you'll follow me, I will show you a whole new world." Methos turned and went into the door that would lead them to the 14th Century via the Holodeck.
What they saw was 25 or so swordsman and various weaponry laying about on the ground. "Now I know we wont have a whole lot of time to train up on this, but we can give a crash course to give the basics. THere is not a lot of time to work on technique, but atleast our guys wont be unarmed," Methos said.

Seth and MacHeath followed Methos into the holodeck and Seth picked up a sword, a weapon with which he had always wanted to fight. MacHeath seemed to be satisfied with a crossbow, but Seth thought that it would not be able to do much damage.
Seth expected that they were going to be trained by the people in front of them, so he picked a strong looking one with a big sword.
"I choose you!" Seth said, pointing at the swordsman, which hadn't moved up till now. Instead of slowly approaching Seth, he held his sword over his head and charged.
In a reflex, Seth dropped his sword and drew his phaser, and shot the sword out of his attackers hands.
"I don't think that this is a very good way to deal with them when we are on the surface mr Bern!" MacHeath said. "We would surely alter some kind of timeflow if these people find out about us having this advanced technology." He then turned from Seth and Methos to the other marines that were present. "When we are on the surface, I want all phasers and other nonmedieval weapons to stay here on the ship. If you have a problem with that I request that you accompany them, and stay as well. Is that understood?" Several marines nodded and MacHeath turned back to Methos.
"I think that Seth set an example of how we should not act out there. Could you show us what you had in mind regarding the training cadet? Perhaps you could even show them yourself how to properly defend themselves."

"Sorry, commander. I should have told you that this program was based on the Colonel's training program," Methos said to Seth as he turned to Col. MacHeath, 'Yes, sir. I agree that phasers and advanced weaponry should stay on the ship. Now if you'll watch, I'll show you how it's done." Methos went up to an opponent that was about his size, "You, I choose you," Methos said as he went into a deffensive stance, with his sword at a vertical position next to his right shoulder. His opponent charged with a downward swing, Methos brought his sword up to a horisontal postion above his head to block the attack. He continued the movement with a sweeping attack to his opponent's neck. When the headless body fell to the ground infront of him, Methos turned towards the crowd of Marines in front of him, "Now, I know that was quick, but if someone is charging like that, it is the best way to dispatch your opponent. Computer," he waited for an acknowledging beep from the computer, "please load training program Methos 2." The differnt men disappeared only to be replaced by wooden dummies. "Everyone, please pick a partner," Methos said to the Marines. There was a scrawny looking fellow standing by himself, after everyone had a partner, Methos pointed and asked, "You, what is your name?"
The Marine replied, "Private Domino, sir." "Well, Private, you are goning to be my partner," Methos replied, "Now stand behind your partner." After everyone had done so, Methos said," Everyone in front, you are the attacker. Everyone in the rear, you are defending. Defenders, Take up a defensive stance like I had. Attackers, on the count of three, at crawling speed, come at your opponent with a downward strike. Like I am going to do to Private Domino."
Methos then turned and with a slow downward swing he attacked, PVT Domino brought his sword up like Methos had done to his previous attacker, "Good, PVT. That was pretty much text-book. Now we will do this for 4 more 'attacks' then switch. Also as you go up to defend take a step back, and then bring your sword to your left shoulder, like this. Private I want you to attack me." As PVT Domino attacked Methos took a step back, with his left foot, as he brought up his sword, after the swords connected, Methos brought the sword to his left shoulder. Domino attacked again, this time Methos took a step back with his right foot and broght the sword up to defend. This continued for 3 more attacks, then Domino went into a defensive stance and Methos attacked. Each time he came down and connected, he took the sword straight up over his head. When the two finished, Methos said, "Ok, everyone and that includes the Commander and Colonel, prepare to attack or defend. One......, Two......, Three, attack!" Methos watched as the marines, Seth, and Doug did what they were instructed.
"OK, now for the walk method. It will be a little faster," Methos said as he took a defensive stance, "Attack!" Methos deflected each blow with an almost graceful art. Then when he attacked Domino, he went at about 3/4 speed and strength, which suprised Domino, who tripped and fell. "Always be prepared to deflect something that is stronger than you can imangine. It will save you," Methos said as he helped Domino up. When Everyone was finshed, they did it again only faster and stronger.
"Ok, Everyone. Take five, next we will be doing archery." Methos said walking up the Seth and Doug. "How was that sirs? "

Hawk watched and listened as the other instructors got to work on using the sensors to find the missing man. Hawk knew It would end up being the sole responsibility for Engineering to make up and testing a device to bring the Hepta back to its proper time and place.
"Cadets, listen up." Hawk said to his two cadets, "We need take a look at the senor read outs from before and during our 'trip' through the temporal wormhole. With any luck we can actually relocate the wormhole, or we need to create our own. Either way we have a lot of data to look over. Once we have found out if we can either locate or create the wormhole we need to head down to deflector control and begin work on the deflector dish so we can get ourselves back home."

OOC: Nice post cadet Methos!
IC:
Seth had quite some trouble with having to rely on just a thin sheet of metal, but slowly he was able to build up his confidence. But one time, while he was the defending party, he was suddenly distracted by MacHeath, who was warning a private for swinging his sword too recklessly. Seth didn't notice his partner charging and was only just able to dodge the attack, the tip of the sword making only a small cut in his cheek. The private immediately dropped his sword and apologized, stumbling over his words.
"Don't worry private!" Seth said, "It was completely my fault." The private looked relieved and they both got back into the fighting positions.
Seth saw from the corner of his eye that Methos had noticed his technical flaw. The cadet seemed a little hesitant to correct a superior officer, but Seth comforted him. "Please give me some tips cadet, as you see I don't have a clue how to properly fight with a sword."
<Methos>
Seth was glad that Methos had decided to give this training, as he wanted to join the away team and see something of the 14th century earth. He tried out a couple of more charges and blocks untill he was so sweaty that his sword slid out of his hands.
Seth was very thankfull when Methos said "Ok, Everyone. Take five, next we will be doing archery" Heavily breathing Seth walked to the nearest replica to get himself a glass of water, and after he had regained his breath, Methos came walking to him. "How was that sirs?" he asked to him and Dough.
"I think that I've got the basics now Methos, thank you very much, if you can give me the name of the trainingprogram I might be able to practise some more later today or tomorrow."
<Methos>
"I will! So next up is archery, that won't be too difficult... I mean... we're used to firing phasers, archery shouldn't be too different... or will it?
"You'll be surprised mr Bern!" MacHeath said, and he raised his crossbow. He fired an arrow straight into the 'heart' of one of the target dummies, which didn't seem to take him any effort. "It's not as easy as it looks" He said, grinning.

"Well, sir, if we get into a fight down there, there will be plenty of distractions. Try to focus on your opponent, but also beaware of everyone one the battlefield, incase someone else is coming after you," Methos replied.
"I think that I've got the basics now Methos, thank you very much, if you can give me the name of the trainingprogram I might be able to practise some more later today or tomorrow."
"Yes, sir!" Methos said with a smile, "It's called Methos training 2. If you need help working on technique, don't be afraid to call me or the Col. We will both be happy to help. Won't we, Sir?"
<MacHeath>
"I will! So next up is archery, that won't be too difficult... I mean... we're used to firing phasers, archery shouldn't be too different... or will it?" Seth asked.
"You'll be surprised mr Bern!" MacHeath said, and he raised his crossbow. He fired a bolt straight into the 'heart' of one of the target dummies, which didn't seem to take him any effort. "It's not as easy as it looks" He said, grinning.
"You are correct in that, Col." Methos said, "With phasers you aim and push a buttton. With bows, you use strength, as well as aiming. Why don't you pick up a bow and some arrows, and we will show these Marines how it's done. Ok, everyone, Break's up. Gather around, and I will show you the basics of using a bow." Methos said to evertone. When they were in a half circle around him, he began.
"First, it takes some strength, to draw the bow, but when you get the bow string pulled back, it only takes a little effort to keep it there. When aiming, look down the shaft of the arrow past the arrow head, at the target. When you are ready to release, hold your breath for the half-second or so it takes to steady the pooint of the arrow on the target. Then release." As Methos said that, he let loose the arrow. It flew straight into the heart of the same target the Col. MacHeath shot. The aroow Methos fired, was a half-inch from Doug's bolt.
"I should warn you, the string has a little bit of a bite, until you get used to it. Now, everyone, get with your partners. No you will not be shooting arrows at them," He paused while there was a nervous laugh throughout the group, "You will be critiqueing each other."
Methos watched as the Marines paired up and started shooting arrows at the targets, some of which flew wildly off course, while surprisingly some hit dead center.
After all the arrows had been shot, Methos called the group to where he was. "Ok, I think that about half of you, are competent archers, the rest of you should stick with swords. Those of you that hit your target, you will be long-range support but you will also be required to keep practicing with swords. This program should be running contiuously until we depart for the surface, unless someone has a problem with that," Methos paused looking at Seth and Doug, seeing that they didn't have a problem, he continued, "The CMDR, COL, and myself will be here if you have any questions about the training."
