After his physical, William headed to Ten-Forward, where he saw a cadet entering right in front of him. William quickened his stride. "Excuse me," he called as they entered an almost completely empty Ten-Forward. "who might you be?"

"I dont do physicals but well they always seem to get hold of me. I once tried to lock myself in a jefferies tube"
"What happened?" Asked O'Neill
"The captain ordered me to come out. Admiral McCormick is not someone you say no to." Jack said noticing the intrigued smile on the cadets face.
"So its not just us cadets that get told off, you senior officers do as well." O'Neil remarked.
With the banter over and done with it was their turn to be poked and prodded as Jack liked to call it. In reality the medics were very friendly. Jack was hoping for his usual nurse but couldnt see her their.
Jack also noticed Xin-Ling entering and giving Dr Mackler some sort of coded message through eye contact, he felt suspicious of his deputy dont get him wrong shes a brilliant officer, but always keeping Jack on his toes.
Dr Mackler walked towards Jacks bed after he had been beckoned onto his by a very quiet male nurse.
And thats when it all began......

Location: Quarters IC: McLeod had just finished the classic Ivanhoe. He glanced up at the clock. He still had a couple of hours to kill. He stood up and pressed the comm badge. "Cadet McLeod to Lt. Col. MacHeath if you do not have any orders I'm going to head down to science see if Commander Ford is willing to give me some science lessons." Tag MacHEath "Unerstood, sir." OFF: Lt. Col. the Commander said he was willing if you will let me off the hook. =^=Sure go ahead Cadet. Have fun!=^=
Off: It's a sim, you don't have to ask permission for everything you do. As long as it fits in with the mission, you can go where you please and if there are new orders, you can just respond to them at the time tehy arrive. Be spontaneous, be creative and just write the story without waiting on prior approval of me. It will make it a lot more fun for yourself. As long as you don't do anything drastic (like putting the ship on Red Alert, entering the Neutral Zone and starting a war with the Romulans all at the same time) anything is allowed, even spare time reading or playing on the holodeck or............well, whatever it is that Cadets do in their spare time. This goes for ALL Cadets by the way.
Also, just a little bit of nitpicking. Lieutenant Colonel is addressed as Colonel, just as Lieutenant Commander is addressed as Commander .
That said, have fun and perhaps your science lessons will come in useful someday!
Lt. Col. MacHeath.

While Dr Jordan was going over the medical scans of Lt Bern a few more patients had arrived. Two cadets, Janeway and O’Neill, together with Cmdrs Parker and Chan, and a LtCol MacHeath.
“Excuse me Dr Jordan. I’ll get everybody situated and will start with my fellow cadets.” Stuart excused himself and got everyone to a biobed.
Another couple of scans later, with positive results, the cadets had passed their physicals.
“Cadets Janeway and O’Neill. You can return back to duty and are cleared for away missions. Just remember, if you do get picked for this upcoming away mission, hydrate yourselves before going.” The cadets nodded with acknowledgement and left sickbay.

When Cadet J'Ka returned to his quartes he was the only one out of the Marines that had a medical clearance he was ahead of the game already being a telepath does have some advantages and some diadvantages, well Cadet J'Ka took this little time to feel the ship out not in person but in the mental plains and thats when it happen he felt some thing he has not felt for a very long time the presnets of a Borg but this was a little differnt for him he did not feel the collective but it was Borg. and he did not understand but he needed to find out why and find who it was, all he know it came from the upper decks were seinor offcer were, Cadet J'Ka got up and left his quarts and followd what he was feeling which was pain and confussion and at the same time over confident. Which to one all of these traits colud be the making of a good leader but to some it could be a Borg unauthorized to be abord. [glow=red,2,300]((Cadet J'Ka started thinking to him self about his first love of the military which was the love of law he has applied to the JAG Corps and he taken his Second Love which is to be a Marine and he will do it best but as he is looking around the ship he letting the JAG part of him show); [/glow]So Cadet J'Ka askes the COMPUTER HOW MANY BORG MEMBERS OR ON THIS CREW////[shadow=red,left,300]COMPUTER: [/shadow] [glow=red,2,300]THERE R NO BORG MEMBERS ON THIS CREW.[/glow].Cadet J'Ka relize he asked the wrong question and then he reasked the question COMPUTER HOW MANY MEMBERS OF THIS CREW HAVE EITHER IMPLANTS OF BORG OR BORG TYPE PROGRAMING////[shadow=red,left,300]COMPUTER:[/shadow][glow=red,2,300]SECURITY LEVEL CLEARANCE ALPHA IS NEEDED TO ACCESS INFORMATION THIS WILL BE REPORTED TO THE XO [/glow]WHEN THE COMPUTER SAID THAT CADET J'Ka STOP AND STARTED TO LOCATE HIS TRAINING OFFICER NOT BY THE COMPUTER BUT BY HIS SPECIAL ABILITIES HE IS SO USED TO USING THEM TO CONTACT THAT HE SOMETIMES FORGET ABOUT THE SHIPS COMPUTER. Jordan looked over the scans that Stuart had taken of Bern. She started chewing the inside of her cheek. She then looked up at Bern.
Jordan: Ya most certainly have Arethian flu. You'll be on medical leave for a while. Now if ya would follow me, we'll wash those hands of yours.
Bern looked at her in confusion. Was she serious? Wash his hands? Jordan smiled.
Jordan: Although it is a bit rudimentary, it is the best way to prevent somethin' like this spreadin' around the ship to the others.
He got up off the biobed just as Commander Parker came in. Jordan was surprised. She half-believed that he wouldn't show up for the physical since he had avoided sickbay at all other times. She motioned for him to take a seat and then saw Xin-Ling come in right after Parker. Their eyes locked and Jordan communicated to her through that momentarily link that she was impressed. Xin-Ling smiled and went to sit on a biobed. She and Bern washed their hands and then she dismissed him to his quarters. She then approached Parker first and looked him in the eye.
Jordan: Calm down Commander. This won't hurt at all. I'm not goin' to stick ya with any needles or anythin'.
She started the scan and thought momentarily about yanking his chain like she did TJ's and then decided against it as she saw his adrenaline levels go up and when she looked up, his pupils had dilated. Better not fool around with him, he might pass out,[/color] she thought. Draco chuckled. She looked at the results of the scan and smiled.
Jordan: Ya have a clean bill of health commander. I find nothin' wrong with ya.
She lowered the level of her voice and leaned in.
Jordan: Small suggestion commander, go run a few laps in the holodeck before returnin' to duty. Adrenaline will wear off faster that way.
Jack smiled and hopped back down. He walked out of sickbay and Jordan made her way over to Xin-Ling.
Xin-Ling: Commander.
Jordan: Have ya experienced any problems with your break since it happened?
Xin-Ling: It hurt a little from work.
Jordan: Take it easy on it Xin-Ling. If ya strain it too far, you'll be back in here to get it fixed again. Ok, now let's see how the rest of ya is farin'.
She scanned Xin-Ling, looked at the results and nodded her head once.
Jordan: There are no problems with ya my friend.
Xin-Ling smiled and hopped off the biobed. She walked off to go back to her duties. Jordan took a deep breath and saw Stuart handling the cadets. There weren't any more people to deal with.

Having passed the physical, she quickly exits sickbay to return to her duties. She passes several cadets and officers in the hallways. She quickly makes it to the turbo lift. Once aboard she notices Commander Ford. "Hey, Commander Ford. What's happening?" she asks hoping she is doing the right thing. She wasn't sure if she would be in trouble talking to an officer while she was on duty. She was a little nervous, since there were several other people on the turbo lift. "Not much is going on, cadet. I was just heading to ten-forward. Did you want to join me?" he says looking anxious for a companion. "I would love to join you, but I have been told to return to the bridge. Maybe we can get together later for a rematch at 3D chess." She says hoping to beat him this time. "I would like that. Don't expect to win though. You still need work on your game, but I won't take it easy on you." He says with a smile. "Good. I wouldn't want you to take it easy on me. I don't like to win that way." She says no longer nervous. The turbo lift doors open. "Well, here's my stop. Good luck on the bridge. I look forward to our game later." He says upon exiting. She smiles and nods. Everyone seems to want to exit here. Alone on the turbo lift, she returns her thoughts to the bridge. What does he wish me to accomplish next? She is more nervous than ever. The turbo lift speedily delivers her to the bridge. Upon entering the bridge she sees many people busy at their consoles. Looking at her new work station she finds the commander busy. She joins him quickly looking for another task. He is so busy he doesn't realize she has returned. She clears her throat. "Oh your back. Good. I hope things went well in sickbay. Now for your next task. Communications are out of alignment. We have been asked to realign them. I leave this in your hands. I have to run down to sickbay now for my physical. When you are finished here, then you are done for the day." He says looking tired. "Aye, sir." She replies happily. She will be able to go down to ten-forward soon for that game of 3D chess she promised Commander Ford. He leaves her to her final task of the day. As he enters the turbo lift, he looks over to see she is already getting started. It only takes her half an hour to finish aligning communications. When she is done, she quickly checks her work. Happy with her work she heads off to find Commander Ford. The ride down was a quite one. Three cadets joined her in the turbo lift from another deck. They talked amongst themselves not including her. Once the doors opened again, she is the only one to exit. The walk to ten forward is short and quiet. Almost too quiet for her. When she enters ten forward she sees Commander Ford sitting with a couple of people. They seem to be in deep conversation. She walks over to the bar. The bartender is busy, so she waits her turn patiently. "Hello, what may I do for you?" the bartender says politely. "Hello, I would like to try something new. What would you suggest?" She says. By the look on his face she knows she has taken him by suprise. "Well I could suggest many things. I know. I will surprise you, and you can decide for yourself. If you like it, then you return and ask what it was." He says. I only nod curious as to what I will be drinking. He leaves and returns with a large pink drink. I thank him, and head over to see if there is an empty chair at Commander Ford's table. The table is full, so she stands near the wall listening to the conversation.

"Commander Ford, you had said if Col. MacHeath let me off the hook you would be willing to give me some science lessons. I got the time if your willing to teach. How 'bout it, sir?"
William smiled. "I'd like that, Cadet. What do you want to start with?"
"Anything's fine," came the swift reply.
"Well, we could looks into EPS conduits. They are rather dull and uninteresting, but if you understand how they work you could have an advantage over another non-Science Cadet. Besides, after that we could have some fun with the sensors, or with some of the medical equipment. It isn't science, but its close, and I'm sure Dr. Mackler would let "permanently borrow" some equipment, add a few attachments to it... it'll be fun. But since we should get through the EPS stuff first, here's a short version of how they work. I'll get you a PADD later, with more detailed information. Then maybe we can look at one firsthand and you can explain it all back to me."
The two were deep in discussion when Penfold came in. He over heard them as he passed by, and asked William if he'd picked up a science cadet.
"No," William said, "but Cleburn here - you don't mind if I call you that off-duty, do you? - has taken an interest in science in addition to all his other duties, and here's a great student. We were just talking about EPS conduits. I was getting to the dry stuff, so maybe you could offer your two cents?"
"Sure," said Penfold. He proceeded to tell Cleburn of the EPS conduits, some of his experiences as a science officer, and wound up talking about various other subjects completely unrelated to the field of science.
Out of the corner of his eye, William spotted a familiar person. He turned and saw Janeway drinking... something. The Commander had no idea what it was. William motioned for Liz to join them, and grabbed a chair from the nearest table.
TAG: Penfold, Cleburn, Liz.

Noticing the nearest chair, she plops down. She sees two men she has never met before. She would have introduced herself, but they were deep in coversation. She didn't want to interrupt them as that would be rude. She takes a sip of her new drink. It tastes bitter yet sweet, and there is a hint of something. Unfortunately she can't put her finger on what it is though. "So nice of you to join us, Janeway." Commander Ford says. "Thank you for pulling up the chair. It was a nice jesture. I see you have found some company since we last met." She says with a smile. "Yes, I did. Have you met them yet? What on earth are you drinking?" He asks. She looks at him funny. "It is a good think I have heard that expression before, or I wouldn't have known what you were talking about. I have not met your companions yet. I have no idea what this thing is called. I asked the bartender for something new to try. He said he could have recommended several drinks, and that he wanted to surprise me. I agreed to go along with this. I wish I could describe it, but words won't do it justice. I think I like it, but I am not quite sure." She says. Commander Ford excuses himself. When he returns he has the same drink as she does. "Well that is something. It has a hint of peppermint. I don't think I have ever tasted anything like it. I can't help solve your mystery on the drink. As for my companions that will be easy. The man on the left is Penfold. He is my assistant when we have cadets with young minds to warp. The other man here is Cleburn McLeod. He is training with the other cadets who wish to be marines." He says. When Penfold and McLeod heard their names their attention turned to us. "Well, I am sorry. I didn't even notice the young lady. By the way only he warps young minds. I try to work with what he has left. Hopefully he hasn't warped yours yet." Penfold says smiling. "Ah, a fellow cadet. Who are you exactly, and where are you training?" McLeod asks suddenly. "I am Liz Janeway. I am training in ops. It is a pleasure to met you." She says still smiling. "Now if you two will excuse us. We have a 3D chess rematch to attend to." Ford says letting room for the other two to return to their conversation. "I think I would like to see this. What unusual drinks." a third person says. She doesn't know this person at all. Hopefully an introduction will come soon. The three of us head over to an empty table with our drinks. Ford goes first starting with his knight. She starts to think of how to move. She moves a pawn since she is at a loss. She waits for Commander Fords next move.

Commander Ford sipped his drink as he moved one of his bishops into a defensive position, guarding his knight. Janeway countered with one of her own knight, defending her pawn. As the game proceeded, William attempted twice to break the defensive line Liz had set up. Both times, he was forced to retreat, having lost more pieces than Liz. However, he had succeeded in dividing Janeway's forces; half of her pieces were on the top level of the chess board, while most of William's pieces were on the middle platform. Liz began an assault with her two rooks. William was forced off the bottom level of the chessboard. Liz then focused on taking out William's pieces on the top. William decided to take advatage of this to regain a foothold on the bottom level, but Liz defended her pieces too well. William decided to leave two pawns, a bishop, and a knight on the top level, with his remaining pieces guarding the middle level against possible invasion.

off: ok but I don't know much about this. I hope I don't mess up here.
on: Seeing he is protecting the middle, she decides to divide and conqure. She takes a quick drink, and then moves in for the kill. She moves her castle to the middle. He moves to protect, but it isn't enough. She moves to the top level to take out his bishop. The knight moves down to the middle to be protected leaving her with two pawns. She takes out one, but the other takes her out. I hope I win this one. I could use a victory. She thinks. She is nervous. This is only her second game of 3d chess. She moves her queen to the middle which takes out the knight from the top. She waits for his next move. She hopes she knows what she is doing. He takes his time thinking. He looks determined.

William couldn't understand how Liz was doing so well... but in any case, she had asked him to play his best. So he did.
Carefully laying his trap, William came closer and closer to his goal... until he captured Liz's queen. William smiled. He'd just about evened the odds. Soon, he should have Janeway in a rout. Everything was going fine.
Then Liz took out William's remaining rook and skewered William's king and Queen.
So much for that.
William tried to get back in the game, but even after he had taken out one of her rooks, Liz continued to press the attack. Soon William was down to his king and a knight, while Liz still had a rook, a bishop, several pawns, and of course, her own king. William emptied his glass of... whatever it was... and knocked his king down with his finger.
"I accept defeat," said William, smiling. "You picked the game up fast. Good job."
Liz smiled. "Thank you. It wasn't an easy victory."
"Most things that are worth getting arn't easy to obtain," replied William. "Now, let's go find out what that bartender gave us. If it isn't too disgusting, I think I'll have a second."

According to Stuart’s manifest there were just two cadets left for their physical. Cadets Blackburn and Conston. The marine cadet, J’Ka, had already had his physical just before the Hepta departed. Stuart tapped his comm badge.
=/\= Cadets Blackburn and Conston. Please report to sickbay. =/\=
Stuart then checked the officers’ manifest and noted that quite a handful, if not two, still needed to report in. He wasn’t sure if he should let Dr Mackler call them in or not. Looking over at her, Stuart noticed that she was deep in thought while going over one of her PADD’s. Stuart decided that he would do the calling. She could still perform the physicals upon their arrivals. He decided to call two at a time.
=/\= Lt Bethany Hill and Cmdr James O’Connor. Please report to sickbay. =/\=

Jamey had been watching William and Lizjaneway playing Chess and trying all the while to act if he knew what was going on. He didn’t, he never played the game. Strategy was important to him, but he had just never played the game.
“Good game”, Jamey told them both as William wanted to go to the bar and find out what he was drinking.
“I will be in simulations for the next week so I may not be around that often; however I would love to join you again if we meet up here again.” Jamey said.

Hearing Jamey, she looked up quickly. "I would like that. If you get the time, and if I am here then come and find me. I don't believe I caught your name though. I'm Cadet Liz Janeway. Excuse us, we need to find out what this exodic drink is." She says to the young man giving him a minute to answer before she gets up. He smiles and nods heading his own way. She gets up and heads over to the bar with the commander in tow. The bartender is busy again. How can he keep up with everyone? He approaches. "Not easily. Sometimes I have several cadets and officers waiting for me, like you two. Did you like the drink?" He says with a smile. She isn't amazed he knew what she was thinking. She often has problems with her telepathic abilities. "I know I liked it, but I can't speak for Commander Ford here. What is it? I would like another." She says smiling, which by the look on his face shocks the bartender. He recovers quickly though. "It is a Talaxian Fruit Smoothie. Only one coming up?" he asks looking at the commander. "No, make it two." He says. The bartender looks thrilled. He leaves and comes back with two large glasses. "Here you go. Always a pleasure to help." He says walking to the other end of the bar, before we can say thanks, where an officer is waiting. I look around, and spot a cadet sitting alone. Feeling brave, I walk right over to her. Commander Ford comes along with me. "Hello, I'm Cadet Janeway. This is Commander Ford. May we join you?" She says with a smile, trying not to look intimidating.

Jamey left 10-forward and headed to the bridge for his shift. As he exited the turbo lift on the bridge, he walked down the ramp to the helm. Jamey took the helm and began his shift …
Not much happened at warp to P32-4J however, while at warp the science officer lost the signal of the nearest time-base beacon. The officer started to search for the next beacon while keeping a more adept eye on the ship’s chronometer …
<<Tag anyone who wants to run with that thought … if not … then just fix it and move on … >>
After entering the sector and surveying it with long range navigation sensors Jamey adjusted course to P32-4J. Relative to the center of the galaxy, absolute heading, bearing 190, mark 035.
… Several hours pass …
Dropping from warp to impulse the ship enters the system … not much on the sensors, just the normal things found in a planetary system.
“Approaching P32-4J, entering standard orbit outside the plants rings”,Jamey said noticing the time being 0500.
Jamey reached for the comm, “Bridge to Commodore One. We have reached P32-4J and have entered in a high orbit.”
OFF … LOA … I will be leaving to go out of town for my RL job but will try to post when I can … Brandon O'Connell has the next shift.

OFF: I'm back! I'm sorry to see that you are currently on LOA Jamey, you did a great job while I was gone!
Some pretty nasty days passed since Seth had reported to sickbay. He didn't know why he hadn't been able to reckognize the feeling in his body, but after cadet Mercy finished his diagnostic, Seth felt very ill.
About 5 consecutive days Seth had felt very warm, which he thought to be a good sign. The sixth day his body temperature was almost back to normal and this morning Seth was able to walk freely around sickbay.
Seth felt that he should return to his post, but got a disapproving look from Jordan.
"I'm sorry Ms Mackler" Seth said, "but I feel that I need to return to my cadets to make sure that they get the proper guidance"
<<tag jordan>>
"I arrived here a week ago, and I was told that the flu would be gone in 4 days. Normally I wouldn't have minded to stay here a little longer, but we are getting closer to our destination and I want to be next to my cadets when needed. Thank you for your concern though!" Seth concluded, and he walked through sickbay's main doors.
Seth was relieved to see that things did not go horribly wrong while he was gone, but when he entered the bridge he was immideately caught in a minor crisis.
"What seems to be the problem?" Seth informed.
"We are not able to find the next beacon." a short reply came.
Seth smiled, "That has a simple explanation, we have passed by the planet, I accideentally saw it when I was looking out of my window in sickbay. He ordered the centre viewscreen to show the vision behind the Hepta. "Do you see that dot over there? That's our destination."
He walked over to the helm and saw Jamey sitting in front of the console.
"Hello cadet Parker, in case you didn't overhear my conversation that I just had, the tiny dot over there is our P32-4J. If you would be so kind to turn around, we will be able to get to our target." Seth said.
"Aye Sir!" Jamey responded.
After an hour or so, someone at the science console was able to spot a beacon, meaning that they were on the right track. Seth ordered a cup of coffee from the replicator and spent an hour with gazing at the stars.
“Approaching P32-4J, entering standard orbit outside the plants rings” Jamey said.
"Ok cadet, this would be your signal to drop out of warp. It would be best to slowly approach the planet to give the sensors enough time to gather information" Seth adviced.
He saw the Hepta rapidly decreasing speed as Jamey slowed down to impulse speed.
“Bridge to Commodore One. We have reached P32-4J and have entered in a high orbit.” Jamey said
"Well done cadet, you showed an excellent performance. Don't worry about the rest of the steering, I'll take care of that." Seth told Jamey, and he continued with a small piece of advice.
"You've been up all night, you should get some rest and spend some time for yourself. Report back to me when you think that you can be usefull in any way, or when you simply want to chat. Dismissed."

Location: Near a EPS Conduit Cleburn was looking over a EPS conduit reviewing what he and Commander Ford had discussed. He had just traced a conduit to its tap. "I get it." Cleburn said to himself. Chuckling to himself MNcLeod started toward one of the holodecks. "I can't bleieve I didna get it." He said as he came up to one of the holodecks. "Computer, begin program MCLeod alpha one training." McLeod stepped into the holodeck. He saw a in front of him a vast valley. He was carrying a large claymore at the ready. "So, laddie are ye ready to teach these Sannsech a thing or two." William Wallce asked. "Aye, sir. I hope the training you gave me will help in the battle." Cleburn answered. "Let the battle begin." Wallace said as Cleburn joined army ranks. The battle was fierce with both sides suffering many losses, but Cleburn fought well with the claymore. "Well done, laddie." was Williams answer after the battle "End program." Cleburn said as yhe walked out.

TJ, who was sitting in the chair next to the Captain's, could not help releasing a breath of awe.
No matter how many times he'd been aboard ship in a mission or for personal travel, the sight of a planetary body hovering upon nothing amidst a field of stars whose light was unhindered by an atmosphere always astounded him by its beauty.
And there she was. P32-4J in all of her unnamed splendor! Even at this far orbit, she was a beautiful sight!
Large and ruddy, with rings that gave the impression of an overall amber color, but upon closer inspection proved to be multi-colored with yellowish hues predominating, she rotated there. Varied intensities of reds shifted like clouds over the surface... it almost reminded him of the bands of Jupiter – without the Red Spot.
It's sight brought him to his feet, as if he was standing out of respect for a lady entering the room. And what a lovely lady this was!

Xin-Ling had been overseeing adjustments to the rear phaser banks of the Hepta and had not heard the report of the ship's arrival at its destination. Finally content with the adjustments, she dismissed herself from the area and proceeded to the Tactical/Security office.
As she entered the room, she saw Mr. Parker and Cadet O'Neill there.
"Please excuse, Mr. Parker. I am wondering, if I am not needed, if I am permit to go to holodeck. I want to be prepare for our arrival at our destination."
Cadet O'Neill looked quizically at Commander Parker, wondering how the Asian Warrior managed to be unaware of their arrival.
