โThat's close by,โ Polly exclaimed, pulling her husband to his feet and rushing towards the door. The screams were coming from a few quarters down the corridor. โThomas you should override the lock,โ she suggested, โit sounds as if someone's getting killed!โ TJ didnโt need Pollyโs urging to attempt entry to the First Officerโs quarters. Had the appropriate number and proper officers been there, the computer could have overridden any lock, but those officers were not on the scene.
Without thinking, but purely on instinct, he attempted to kick in the door. He was not the martial artist Xin-Ling was, and gained no ground by such a move.... The attempted kick failing, TJ pointed his phaser directly at the lock at high power and fired. There was a shower of sparks and the metal of the lock glowed, then vanished, thus allowing access to Alexโs quarters.
There on the floor of her cabin laid the unconscious First Officer, her fingers near, but not quite to, the commbadge. Swiftly, TJ tapped his own and said, โEdwards tโ Sickbay... respond!โ <<< Any medical personnel >>>"Ms. Nikmud is down in her quarters. Injuries appear tโ be serious. Get a medical team up here now!โ<<< Any medical personnel >>>Turning to Polly he said, โItโs appearinโ I might not be able tโ keep our dinner appointment until later...โHaving left the doll in a receptacle in Ten Forward, it was impossible that it should reappear as it had in the center of her bunk โ yet there it was. In all of its hideousness. The fact that the expression on the dollโs face had changed yet again, this time to a malevolent scowl, further terrified the young scientist.
Once again, the doll began to pulsate with the ghastly greenish glow, and a few seconds later, just outside the door to her quarters, there was a deafening roar, and Ensign Parker twirled to face its source.
She saw nothing but a jet of flame shooting passed her doorway. Her face was a mask of terror. Ever since she was a little girl, the stories of these fabulous creatures unnerved her. She was immensely relieved when she learned that it was the considered opinion of modern biologists that such creatures did not โ or at least no longer โ existed... at least, not on earth.
And yet, short of seeing the reptile itself, there it was. The roar... the flame... the smoke... she screamed as she contemplated the evidence that the biologists were wrong. These creatures did exist!
Though she did not actually hear it, there was a strong feeling that the doll on the bed was laughing, and it made her flesh crawl...

Danny had no clue what was going on. One alarmsignal after another flared up and there were reports of injuries and phaser fire from all over the ship now. As Commander Cole and his Cadet left the Bridge, Danny was the senior officer left and he took command. As Danny moved over the the Captain's chair, he ordered his assistant, Sergeant Pepper, to take the Ops station.
Punching in commands at the Captain's console, Danny soon got a clearer picture of what was going on. That is, if you could call reports of attacks by Bengal tigers or firebreathing dragons a clearer picture. Danny tapped his commbadge.
=^=Lรถhnen to Edwards. Captain, I can hold the fort up here for a while, but what the hell is going on?=^=
<TAG: Captain>
Danny had hardly finished speaking when the turbolift doors hissed open and a young woman stumbled in. She was in a state of severe shock and was raving about a dragon trying to kill everyone on the ship. It didn't make the slightest bit of sense to Danny. "Ensign, pull yourself together!" he snapped briskly, hoping his tone would snap her out of it. It did, though briefly. For a few seconds, she looked almost coherent, but she only just managed to introduce herself as Ensign Parker, before she fainted. Danny barely caught her before she hit the floor. Before her eyes turned from foggy to positively "out of it", she exclaimed, "run sir, run. We are all in grave danger."
Danny looked around, shocked by the state this young girl was in. It was then that the thumping started.

the Bridge crew looked up. The thumping continued. "Where the hell does that come from!" demanded Sergeant Pepper from behind the Operations console. Danny, still holding the unconscious Ensign Parker looked around, but couldn't find a source for the noise.
Slowly but surely, the thumping became pounding and it became pretty obvious where it was coming from. In the absence of Commander Cole, who had been called to another deck together with his Cadet, there was a nervous, young, second lieutenant at the Security consoles. With a shreek, she pointed at the door. "SIR, look!!!" All looked in the direction she had pointed in. The turbolift doors were moving, but not sideways as they were supposed to do. Great dents appeared in the doors as if some unmeasurable force was hammering its way in through the solid steel doors. The lieutenant at Tactical tapped her comm badge.
=^=Security to the Bridge immediately and watch out for...............for whatever it is that is in the main turbolift.=^=
Slowly, but surely, the turbolift doors began moving sideways. Apparently whatever it was that had been trying to break them down had decided it would be easier to just slide them open. Lieutenant Eccleston, the young second lieutenant at Tactical, drew her phaser. Sergeant Pepper did the same. Nobody would go without a fight.
The doors were still sliding open, at first only very slowly, barely visible, but they were now sliding open with an ever increasing speed. Centimetre by centimetre, now inch by inch. A crack opened between the two doors. It wouldn't be long before the doors would swing open completely. Something green was visible through the small opening between the doors. Lieutenant Eccleston screemed. Danny turned white and cursed. The only thing Sergeant Pepper could say before it all happend was "what the......."
It was over as soon as it had begun. For no apparent reason, the turbolift doors slid closed again and the noise died away. An errie silence decended on the occupants of the Bridge. They all looked at each other, uncertain what to think, uncertain what to do. A sound disturbed the errie peace and Danny turned around, drawing his phaser as he did so, his reflexes faster than the eye could see due to years of training and experience. The turbolift door on the other side of the Bridge opened. "Hold your fire!" yelled an officer as two security teams entered the Bridge, phaser rifles drawn and ready for anything. The cavalry was late.
An hour later:
There was hardly any evidence of the events that took place on the Bridge. Apart from the vivid nightmarish memories of those involved and apart from the dents in the turbolift doors, no trace of the intruder or whatever it had been could be found. Now, an hour later, Danny visited Sickbay to see what he could find out about Ensign parker's condition. Dr Mackler wouldn't give him too much information. All she could say was that Ensign Parker had suffered from severe shock and was now resting in her quarters. There had been no need to admit her to Sickbay.
His head still full of the day's events, Danny walked to Ten Forward to order his thoughts before reporting the situation to the Captain.

OOC: Sorry for my holiday absence. Too much time spent at relatives, friends... a massive Halo party...
IC:
William Ford slept soundly after retiring from the Bridge, but Franz Holtz had a much more exciting evening. He had double-checked the science labs to make sure everything was in order before leaving the two officers still working on a side project for Ten-Forward. It had been a long day, and while Franz was not unhappy, he was very tired. Nothing a drink couldn't lighten, of course, and Franz had a reputation at the bar few scientists could equal. He had taken perhaps two steps into Ten-Forward when he became very dazed. A sort of cloud darkened his vision, and he stumbled backward. Sights unseen haunted the edges of his vision, but whenever he turned at the sight of movement, the spectres had flown to another dark corner of the room, which was curiously nondescipt. It seemed to Franz Holtz that he was in a sort of void, and he swallowed nervously, reaching out a trembling hand to steady himself. There was nothing to steady himself with, and he crumpled to the ground, curling into a fetal position and quivering on the floor.

Leo awaited the med team and when they arrived he followed, asking questions and recieving no answers. They couldn't explain the readings, all they could tell him was that the young man was near death ... from no apparent injury or known circumstance. He eventually stopped tailing the med team as they transported the young man via hover sled.
Standing in the middle of the corridor with a very clueless expression on his face when suddenly a eardrum piercing scream rocketed down the corridor from the opposite direction. He was unaware of what deck he was now on or where in the ship he happened to be; however he started toward the scream at a run. He nearly collided with the captain as he charged into someone else's quarters.
Leo slid into the doorway and hissed when his arm rammed into the extra hot lock casing.
"What, what's going on?" Leo asked frantically, "I heard a scream!"
Suddenly, over the all call frequency:
=^= Security team to ... awahhh!=^=
Leo heard another scream from the direction of the med team he'd just left. He ducked back out of the quarters and saw a nurse run across the perpendicular crossing at the end of the corridor. What was following her appeared to be the same young crewman that was previously on the hover sled. He was chasing the nurse when he collided with the corner of the corridor and looked at the councilor. His eyes were more than a little odd ... as they appeared to be black.
"Oh, this is not good," Leo said to himself as the crewman decided to start lumbering toward him.

OOC: Firstly my apologies for not being aroundโฆvery sorryโฆ
In the space of about two hours Xerin had been all over the ship tracking down various security alerts. She and Cadet Sharp had been called from place to place to investigate several strange occurrences, but none had come up with any results. They had ranged from reports of Bengal Tigers and Dragons (how on earth would you get one of those on board without anyone noticing?), to outbursts of phaser fire on the upper deck.
The attack on the bridge was the final straw. Again, by the time the security team had arrived it was all over, and there was no sign of the, whateveritwas that had attacked. The same was true when they had arrived at Commander Nikmuds quarters just moments before. There was no sign of any intruder, but the womanโs unconscious form, and reports from the Captain and his wife had indeed confirmed that there had been an attack of some kind.
โTigersโฆDragonsโฆand Godknowswhat elseโฆโ the Commander mumbled quietly to herself as she stood beside Cadet Sharp at the tactical station. For now, it seemed, their drill had been delayed, while the marine and security details were patrolling the ship for any signs of infiltration. The Cadet seemed as puzzled as she did by the days events, but had shown himself to be very keen and able throughout the whole ordeal. They had been back on the bridge for almost a whole hour now, and she thought it was about time he got stuck into something more entertaining.
โCadet Sharp. Why donโt you head down and team up with one of the security details. I want an extra watch on the officers quarters, as that seems to be where most of this trouble is stemming from.โ She suggested to him quietly. He was about to answer when they were interrupted,
=^=Security team to ... awahhh!=^= Came an unrecognised voice. It took Xerinโs brain a few moments to kick into action.
โNow if only we knew where awahhh wasโฆโ She said with a raised eyebrow. โComputer, location of that last communication please.โ She asked, wondering why she was being polite to the machine.
โDeck 8, interim corridor.โ It provided her.
She didnโt even need to give the order, Cadet Sharp was already on his way to the turbolift as she moved alongside him. The lift seemed to move agonisingly slowly somehow, but she used the time to direct security teams to their destination. She only hoped someone had been closer than they were. When the lift finally stopped Xerin raced out of it, pulling her phaser as she went. Cadet Sharp mimicked the action, holding his weapon at the ready...

She was about to respond that it really didn't matter and that she understood that this was far more important than a simple dinner engagement and that she could probably freeze the lasagna ... but she never got the chance. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw something teetering towards them, a large unidentifyable grey shape with brightly glowing, green eyes. It was almost as though the figure was wearing a black cloak and night-vision goggles, almost but not quite.
Her hands tightened in a vice-like grip around TJ's arm as she hid behind him and screamed. "Do something," she urged him, knowing all to well that he might be tempted to just step aside. "Please..." She cowered behind her husband, trying not to glance at the terrifying figure. It glided towards them, hovering above the deck, making a low grumbling sound as it approached. It wielded a large flaming sword, holding it hight above what could be its head, but could also be anything else.
Polly felt her heart hammering in her thoat as she gasped for breath, tremors of fear shuddering down her spine as she trembled. "What is that?" she stammered, pointing past TJ at the figure. With one mighty swing, it hewed down two security guards, cleanly decapitating one while cleanly cutting the other in two at the waist. A smouldering hiss was heard as the flaming sword cut through them, and the air turned acrid with the smell of burned flesh. It made Polly retch as the smell reached her nostrils. She felt TJ's arm slip around her waist, pressing her head against his shoulder to shield her from the horror.
At that moment, she realised that was the first nice thing he'd ever done for or to her. Apart from actually showing up for the dinner engagements of course. She sobbed quietly against his shoulder, and the figure turned it's back on them, gliding the opposite way, still wielding it's flaming sword with a vengeance, striking down officers and other crew as it passed.

It seemed to Franz Holtz that he was in a sort of void, and he swallowed nervously, reaching out a trembling hand to steady himself. There was nothing to steady himself with, and he crumpled to the ground, curling into a fetal position and quivering on the floor. Danny was standing over the trembling body of Commander Ford in Ten Forward. He had turned around as he heard Ford utter something, but he hadn't seen what it was he was muttering about. "get away, get away" were among the mutterings, but Danny couldn't detect anything even close to the science officer. Just then, Ford had collapsed.
Still trembling but coming around now, Ford tried to push Danny and the bartender away. "Easy Will, it's me, Danny. Remember me? No-one's harming you." The bartender had already gone back to her bar to fecth Ford a drink. "Bartender, make it a whiskey. A real one, not that synthesized crap". He helped Ford to his feet as the bartender put a double whiskey on the nearest table. One swallow later, the amber liquid was gone and Ford seemed to come somewhat to his senses. The two man looked at each other, dumbfounded. Both men knew something was going on, but neither knew what the hell it was.
"I'd like to get you to Sickbay Will," Danny said after their second drink. Ford looked at him and refused. "I'm felling better now, I just need some rest." Knowing full well he couldn't force Ford into Sickbay, Danny picked up his tricorder. "At least allow me to do this then," he added. Ford was about to object, but then sat back, a resigned look on his face. After a few minutes of scanning Danny looked over the results. "What's the verdict Docter?," Ford asked sarcastically.
Danny frowned. "I'm not a doctor and this is not a medical tricorder, but for all I can tell, your vitals are normal. What puzzles me is this...." He showed Ford the readouts. All vital signs indeed registered as normal, but the spectral readings of Ford's surroundings were way off, as if something were out of phase with the rest of Ten Forward. The strange out-of-phaseness left a trail to where Ford had passed out on the floor and vanished promptly there. In fact, the readings already began to diminish. It had been 15 minutes since Ford's sudden collapse, but it was apparent that "something" had been close by, eventhough no-one had seen it. "We'd better inform the Captain," Ford gasped as they stood up as one and marched out of Ten Forward.<TAG: Commander Ford, Captain>

As commander cole and robert exit the turbolift on deck 8 they make sprint for commander Nikmud's quarters and meet up with the security detail as they burst in they see the captain and polly over a slumped body TJ acknowledged the entry of Commander Cole and Cadet Sharp, who had entered seconds after he and Polly had done so. It was a moment before he could speak, however.
โA medical team has been sent for,โ he said. Slowly, an angered look rose to the Irishmanโs face.
โFind what did this tโ her,โ TJ said to them both in a quiet yet potent voice. โFind who or whateverโs responsible anโ inform me when thโ perpetratorโs been captured.โ
As the two left the First Officerโs quarters, TJโs comm badge chirped and Major Lรถhnen requested clarification on the strange happenings on the Hepta.
โโTis not much I can say now,โ TJ explained. All Iโm aware of is a scream cominโ from thโ area around thโ First Officerโs quarters. Polly anโ I responded, anโ found Commander Nikmud attacked, unconscious on thโ deck.โ [Pollyโs] eyes widened in fear as she saw something teetering towards them, a large unidentifiable gray shape with brightly glowing, green eyes. ...
Her hands tightened in a vice-like grip around TJ's arm as she hid behind him and screamed. โDo something,โ she urged him, knowing all to well that he might be tempted to just step aside. โPlease...โ She cowered behind her husband, [as] the terrifying figure glided towards them, hovering above the deck, ... wield[ing] a large flaming sword.
... With one mighty swing, it hewed down two security guards.... A smouldering hiss was heard as the flaming sword cut through them, and the air turned acrid with the smell of burned flesh. ...She felt TJ's arm slip around her waist, pressing her head against his shoulder to shield her from the horror.
... She sobbed quietly against his shoulder, and the figure turned it's back on them, gliding the opposite way, ... striking down officers and other crew as it passed. So it wasnโt a hallucination. Polly saw it too. The nightmarish figure gliding just above the deck was real. Well, if itโs real, he thought, then it should respond to a counterattack.
Since the... thing... had already killed several persons while there, and since it obviously wasnโt to be reasoned with, armed force was necessary.
On a desk in the corner of Alexโs quarters, TJ saw a hand phaser, released Polly and looked down at her. โStay where ye are,โ he ordered. โIโll be back in an instant.โ
Moving at his top speed, TJ made a dive for the weapon on the desk, and, retrieving it, returned to Polly, and aimed the phaser.
โStand where ye are, anโ put away thโ sword!โ he ordered the floating specter, that turned in response to his order and advanced toward Polly and TJ.
โYe had your warninโ!โ said the captain, and fired directly into the floating nightmare....Danny visited Sickbay to see what he could find out about Ensign Parker's condition. Dr Mackler wouldn't give him too much information. All she could say was that Ensign Parker had suffered from severe shock and was now resting in her quarters. There had been no need to admit her to Sickbay. Well! If the doll โ that horribly grotesque doll โ could not be disposed of by simply dropping it into a waste receptacle, she would get rid of it this time! She would not have that monster smirking at her!
Linda rose from her bunk where she had been trying to rest โ rather unsuccessfully, since Uncle Adelaiโs evil little โgiftโ seemed to be mocking her from the table โ and angrily grabbed the doll and began beating it against the tableโs edge in a rage before she took it to the nearest jettison tube, and committed the monstrosity to deep space.
A sweet peace settled over her.... now she could rest from her ordeal, and not suffer at the hands of the doll. Relieved at last, she walked back to her quarters, laid down, and fell into the arms of Morpheus. One hour later >>>Lindaโs eyes opened. She turned in her bunk with every intention of returning to her sleep. Instead, she gasped and then screamed.
The doll had returned!

The wait for someone to arrive seemed long .. Very long .. All the time he swept the phaser, set at full power, through an arc, trying to cover both ends of the corridor at once. If something did get into the corridor, he wanted to be able to hit it, before 'it' hit him !
He almost jumped as two Security Officers approached him, a Medic close behind them .. The young Medical Officer was having trouble taking in the scene before her, she was looking at the walls and floor as she walked .. She was also turning an acute shade of green .. She managed to look at Seijitsu eventually ...
"Are you OK .. Can you do this ?" he asked, concerned.
The Ensign nodded silently, before putting down the case she carried and taking out a medical tricorder .. Along with several large bags ...
"Where is the Captain ?" Seijitsu asked one of the Security Officers.
"He's got problems of his own Commander.." he said, pointing his phaser toward the ceiling, "There are alerts going off over most of the ship."
"OK .. You stay here with the Ensign." he said, then indicating the other Officer, "You and I will move forward .. We will enter ten forward and check out the other corridor."
"Aye Sir." said the two in unison.
With a look at how the Medical Ensign was doing, he and the Security Officer moved toward the doors of ten forward ..........

Linda Parker's Quarters >>>
She would not stay in the company of that hellish doll another minute!
Linda ran from her quarters to the nearest turbolift, not certain of just where she was going โ anywhere, so long as it put distance between herself and the doll from Uncle Adelai!
After summoning the lift, she tried to think through the horror that clouded her mind, and at last, one word of sanity got through... COUNSELOR!
"Deck 17," she said in a quivering voice as she entered and waited for the lift to reach its destination. All during the trip, she attempted to force her professional side to take control once again. Once or twice she nearly succeeded before the horrid darkness with the doll as its center mercilessly enveloped her again.
When the turbolift doors opened, she ran toward Dr. Blacard's office and pounded on the doorway, half-sobbing a plea to be permitted entry.

The day had been pretty calm so far. There hadn't been any more disturbances. So far, Commander Nikmud was still in Sickbay recovering from whatever it was that had knocked her unconscious, several crewmen were in the morgue and Ensign Parker had called in sick, but otherwise the ship was running smooth again.
Commander Cole was still checking some leads into the strange occurrences of the previous day. Danny expected Cadet Sharp to come on duty and monitor the Tactical station any time now. Sure enough, the turbolift doors opened and Cadet Sharp entered the Bridge, but not entirely as Danny had expected. Sharp stumbled, looked around with a glazed look in his eyes for a few seconds and collapsed. "BLAST!!!" was all Danny could exclaim, as he jumped up and ran over towards the semi-conscious Cadet.

Alex groaned from her place on the biobed. One of the nurses checked on her, and found she was just sleeping now.
Alex looked around her surroundings. Things seemed very very strange. She wasn't sure where she was, or even when she was. The buildings around her looked very old. She thought it was weird, and then noticed there was vines and a jungle around her.
She groaned hoping this was all just some dream. She looked around finding nothing but the forest. She heard it then, a loud roaring in the background somewhere. Alex started to run away from the old lost villa hoping to save her life.
A little later she stopped by a lake wondering where the animal was. She had heard nothing for the past hour. Suddenly she felt the claws on her back as it trampled her to the ground.
Alex woke up screaming as she sat up fast. The nurse came running hoping to calm her, but nothing could now.
The nurse didn't like how things were going, and wished there hadn't been another call. Jacob went along with the rest of them, and found it difficult to get passed all this. He didn't like having so many wounded, and thought this was ridiculous.
The person who reported this victim had disappeared inside some quarters making Jacob sigh. They had transported the victim to sickbay, and was about to transport himself when the Transporters went down.
Jacob started to walk to the turbolifts, and then saw it ahead. It didn't look friendly, and he wondered what was going on.
He was about to call out, when one of the other nurses that had accompanied him walked over to the officer. It was weird, then he noticed the nurse was screaming.
=^= Security team to ... awahhh!=^=
With one gulp the nurse had been eaten. Suddenly Jacob had made the mistake of looking into the officer's eyes. He turned around and ran.
It wasn't long before he ran straight into a wall. He noticed nothing, and wondered what could possibly be happening. He hoped whatever it was wasnโt following him.

"Cadet, what the hell happened to you?" Danny asked as he turned Cadet Sharp onto his back. As cadet sharp starts to stir as a medical team enters the bridge. Cadet sharp starts to stir and sees major lohnen kneeling downed and asking "what the hell happened?" As cadet Sharp gets up and replies. Sir some dark figure with a friary Axe came at me on deck 8 and I fired twice at the dark figure. Once at stun setting and then at maximum setting and nothing happened. Then i entered the turbo lift and the fairy Axe came through the turbo lift doors without breaking through and struck me on the arm. The I find myself on the floor of the bridge with you asking me what the hell happened. Thats all i remember major <tag Lรถhnen >
So, it had started again after all. Danny had hoped things had quieted down somewhat after yesterday's attacks, but Cadet Sharp's present condition made that hope part of ancient history.
The medical team arrived and Danny accompanied Cadet Sharp to Sickbay. Doctor Mackler and her medical staff were nervously going from bed to bed, jumping up at the slightest noise and drawing their phaser (which they normally didn't even carry in Sickbay) at every shadow. Danny heard faint rumours about a nurse that had been eaten and a shiver ran down his back. "Another one?" came a voice from the corner. "Yes Doctor, he was attacked by something on his way to the Bridge", Danny answered. "Come on, you can hop on over there", she said pointing at a biobed on the far side of Sickbay.
An hour later, Danny was in Ten Forward again. He tapped his comm badge.
=^=Commander Cole, I've just delivered your Cadet to Sickbay. He was attacked by......... whatever it was on his way to the Bridge. Lรถhnen out.=^=
There just had to be some explanation for all this. Danny was scheduled to meet with Commander Ford in a few minute, so he finished his coffee and left Ten Forward. On his way to Commander Ford's science office, nothing happened for a change.
Ford and Danny sat down at Ford's desk. "It's quite obvious there's no Security breach, at least not in the conventional way," Danny said. Ford nodded. "there has to be something else," he concurred. Both men sat thinking for a while. "Let's go back to the strange readings we took in Ten Forward just before I passsed out, he added after a few minutes. <TAG: Ford, science staff, Engineering (anything strange on internal/external sensors?>

As the doors activated, Seijitsu tentatively put his head round .. He took his time, having no desire to have it either shot, or even bitten, off .. The room was in total diss-array, chairs and tables overturned .. He motioned for the Security Officer to enter and go to the left, he himself would move right .. As he reached the bar, he could see someone down on the floor. He signaled that he'd found someone, raising one finger then pointing behind the bar itself. The Security Officer held his ground to cover Seijitsu as he went to the man .. He was a steward, sat on the flood hugging his knees to his chest, obviously in deep shock. After checking the man's pulse and finding it steady, he decided to leave him here, he would be OK, and in fact safer just where he was .. Finding no-one else, the two continued on to the opposite doors .. As they were activated, the Security Officer, being in a better position, checked the corridor beyond .. It was empty ... They moved forward, slowly. Then instantly froze as they heard the tell-tale pneumatic hiss of a door opening ... For almost a full minute, they locked their eyes on the corridor in front of them, Seijitsu almost getting cramp from holding his phaser so tightly ..But the sigh of pure relief was clearly audible as they came face to face with Major Lohnan and Commander Ford ... "Here ..." said Lohnan, "Are our Human life-signs." "What does it look like that way ?" said Ford, indicating Ten forward .. "Messy .. Something tore at least two .. Maybe three .. Of the crew to pieces." Seijitsu said. "Any thoughts ?" Danny asked, never taking his eyes off the corridor and entrance to ten forward. "Well .. I can't raise the Bridge .. I think we should join forces and head in that general direction." Seijitsu said, as he was talking, Lohnan had tapped his own Comms badge and got no reply from the Bridge either, "Have you heard from the Captain ?" he finished. "Not for some time .. He was heading for Deck four last I heard." Ford said, Lohnan agreed. As they were talking, Commander Ford had been running his tricorder constantly, and wasn't the least bit happy with what it showed .. "Apart from the four of us .. There's nothing here .. But 'something' has passed this way .. My reading's for it go off the scale .. It's big and altering it's structure constantly .. Whatever it is .. Is above us now." he said, figuratively pointing at the ceiling ... "I think we should travel via the Jefferies tubes." Seijitsu said, "I don't fancy getting caught in one of the lifts." "I concur." said Danny, "The nearest one is this way ... " he finished, then headed, cautiously, down the corridor once again .......... < tag : Lohnan / Ford >

Both men sat thinking for a while. "Let's go back to the strange readings we took in Ten Forward just before I passsed out," he added after a few minutes.
"If we compared those readings to newer ones, I may be able to isolate at least an indication, or symptom, or cause of what we're looking for. Given our lack of solid evidence on what we're facing, I think we should start there," said Ford. Danny agreed, and the two men headed for Ten-Forward.
"I'll get Penfold and the others to start analysing the data we recieve," said Ford as they walked. "Have you found anything strange, got any other readings from tricorders? I could use anything you've got."
Danny nodded. "I'll put out a notice. Surely someone has been able to get a better read on whatever has been moving about. Perhaps a certain species is less vulnerable to this... thing. I-"
"Wait," interrupted Ford, holding up a hand. He showed Danny his tricorder. "Lifesigns ahead, human."
Danny nodded and drew his phaser. "About time our luck ran out. I'm surprised no lions, tigers, or bears have started after us." Ford looked puzzled, completely missing the allusion.
For a few tense moments, the two men moved forward slowly, keeping their attenion focused on the door. William kept glancing back, paranoia lingering from his last encounter with the mysterious intruders. The door in front of them opened... and officers on both sides relaxed upon seeing each other.
"Here ..." said Lohnan, "Are our Human life-signs."

"I'll need to get to the labs," said William to Seijitsu as they made their way toward the Jefferies tubes. "Assuming we find the Bridge to be in one piece, that will be my next destination.

Leo was heading toward his office at a run. He wasn't entirely sure why, but he was almost certain that if he stopped running something awful would present itself and eat him. He swung through the barely opened door and had the highest intensity lighting he could possibly have going before it closed behind him. Every corner of the office was so illuminated the reflections from them were nearly blinding.
This was all kinds of strange, but he just couldn't understand it. He calmed himself and tried to consider what, if anything, could cause such strange things to happen aboard a starship. His first thought was nerve toxin or saren gas ... both were known to create impressive delusions though nothing of this sort. The next idea was some kind of neural interference from within or without the ship. Of course, that sort of thing was rather hard to look for. But ... if you had one individual reacting to something from an outside source it could give you cause to suspect it in others. So ... he decided on an experiment.
He opened his desk drawer and, gleefully, found a medical tricorder sitting there looking up at him. He took it in his hand and set it to scan for neural impassivity and possible neural shut down. Then, he promptly scanned himself. A few moments later, he imput the results on his computer console.
He was perfectly healthy.
A look of pure consternation with a hint of frustration contorted his face.
The door to the office chimed and, after peeling himself off the ceiling, Leo responded.
"Come?"

Polly marveled at her husband's courage, yelling at the creature to go back where it came from when it had already been moving away. "Oh please don't do that," she begged her husband, clinging to him as he aimed the phaser at the floating wraith. His shot went right through the creature, which didn't even react to the heat of the phaser fire.
It came directly at them, ignoring surrounding crewmembers unless they were in his way. Polly tried to pull TJ away as the wraith raised its flaming sword high above its 'head', holding it with both hands for a mighty hew down. "Thomas please, it's of no use," she begged him as he shrugged her off with a glare. "You'll just get yourself killed, please, we must run."
Polly knew he didn't trust her or her judgement very much, but she had no doubt he could read her genuine fear for his safety as she pulled at his arm again. He shoved her away roughly as he aimed his phaser once more, this time set to disrupt.
Again, the bright red beam went right through the wraith and this time TJ could see the wisdom in Polly's plea as the flaming sword came swinging down to him. He dove aside giving his wife another mighty shove, but his response had been too slow.
Polly was sent stumbling, tripping over her own feet as she tried to catch her balance. She fell hard onto the deck and turned just in time to see the wraith bending over her husband, pulling the flaming sword from his body. "No!" she screamed, "oh god no, please no!" As the wraith lost interest and floated away, ignoring the screaming girl altogether, Polly crept towards TJ, tears streaming down her face.
She rolled him onto his back, caressing his cheek with a hand gone ice cold from fear. "Thomas please don't die," she whispered as she used her other hand to press down hard on the injury, using her full weight to accomplish the pressure necessary. She tapped her combadge. "Sickbay, the captain's badly injured. Please beam us to sickbay straight way. He's in a real bad shape, please hurry I fear he may die!"
(Caskie)
After issuing her plea to sickbay she concentrated on TJ again. He was conscious, but barely, and his breathing came in ragged gasps. "Shht don't speak," Polly whispered, "save your strenght. You're needed here, they'll make sure you'll be well. I'll make sure, I promise Thomas. I am so sorry about what I've done to you, I really am. And I am going to make it up to you, I promise. Please, don't die."

Alex looked around and saw a cadet was in sickbay. She sighed as the doctor took care of her. The cadet looked very busy at another biobed.
"There, that is better. Doctor, is there anything wrong with me where I can't leave sickbay?" She asked anxious to get back to her duties.
(Jordan)
Alex heard it, but didn't want to register what the doctor said. She then realized the cadet had asked her a question.
"I just woke from a very disturbing dream, not to mention the thing that put me in here. I am sure I need to see the counsellor, could we get him in here, please?" Alex said.
"What do you mean he is busy elsewhere?" Alex said not liking to have to take a number. She sighed and laid back, realizing she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Meanwhile on another deck, Ensign Jack Wilton was trying to discover something about all these attacks. It was very unusual that someone would be attacked while on a training cruise unless it was from some cause outside the ship.
He thought he had something, and noticed a yellow glow fading from around the corner. He found some weird looking shard and thought he had exactly what they needed to finish this whole weird attack thing.
=^=This is Ensign Wilton, and I believe I have the solution to all of our problems. I am taking it to the Science lab.=^=
Down in the lab, he noticed Ford was looking over the shard intently. It seemed everyone was popping in to help with this. He noticed a male cadet, and heard the name 'Sharp'. Another guy showed up introducing himself as Seijitsu. Then in strolled a Marine Major.
"Seems we have a full house for this. I wonder where the captain and first officer are," Jack said and then went quiet when the glares came his way.
"So what is it I have found?" Jack piped up after the silence had gone on way too long.

After the initial consultation with officer Parker. Leo was convinced that something was going on with this strange doll. They came to the door of the officer's quarters, but as Leo made to open the door, Parker cringed and tried to tug him away from the door. She was desperate to stay as far away from that door as humanly possible. Leo wrapped his arm around her and did his best to soothe her, but there was no getting around it.
He returned to the door controls and the door slid open. He returned to Parker's side and gently, but firmly coaxed her into the room. After a few moments of indecision she pointed him toward her bedroom. When she absolutely refused to go any further, Leo left her and entered the bedroom. It was dark and a general sense of dread fell on Leo's shoulders like a load of bricks. It was as though happiness no longer existed within the room ... as though no one had ever or would ever even consider smiling within it's walls. Eventually, his eyes adjusted to the darkness and a figure appeared on the bed. It was not so much illuminated ... rather it glowed of it's own accord ... something that registered in Leo's head as bad news long before he noticed the doll's hideous expression which generally affirmed his feeling of foreboding.
He thought to grab the doll and bring it out with him, until he remembered that Ms. Parker was primed for a mental breakdown as it was. Instead he grabbed a blanket off the bed and wrapped up the horrific item. He tucked it under his arm and returned to the living room, where Parker was staring intently at his bundle. He waved her attention away from the bundle and grabbed her by the arm.
"Ok, let's get this ... thing ... to sickbay," he said a rather unusually up tempo tone of voice, "See what we're really dealing with."
Parker was in no mood to be anywhere near the doll and Leo did his best to keep it tucked in close to his body and away from her line of sight. They got to sickbay in the midst of absolute chaos. The doctors were intensely busy going to and fro from one stricken crewmember to the next. A few cadets stood by, doing their best to help. Leo flagged one down.
<Cadet Caskie>
"Cadet, I need your help with a general assement of this crewmember's neural pathways," he said in his well crafted and somewhat under utilized authoritative voice, "I will be working on ... another item under the sensor hood. Make sure Ms Parker does not interrupt me. She is in a rather delicate state and the less she sees the better off she's going to be."
<Caskie>
"Thank you, cadet," Leo replied as he headed off toward the intensive sensor console with the still firmly concealed doll in his hands.
He left the cadet to do their job and once he was certain he was well out of Parker's sight, he unwrapped the ghastly little monstrosity. He was instantly repulsed by everything about the little doll and he shoved it under the scanner and pulled it down over it with glee. As the scans began, Leo turned back to watch over the cadet's work. It was a madhouse in the sickbay and it was easy for young people to be distracted. If she was able to keep herself on task he would be truly impressed. Of course, when the captain and his wife suddenly appeared on a bio bed, Leo's train of thought completely blanked.
He leapt over to the bio bed and started helping the nurse that was attending to the stricken commander. He wasn't a medical doctor, but he knew enough to know that starfleet nurses are a force to be reckoned with. The nurse kept herself moving at a remarkable rate and she waved him off when another nurse came to her aid.
Leo stood back and considered. Most of the security personel were in the process of running down all the horrific things roaming about the ship.
=^=Security to sickbay, this is Dr. Blacard, send me any available personnel. The captain has been injured and a formal inquiry is required=^=
=^=Acknowledged, Doctor.=^=
