Jason had left the graduation party a bit earlier than expected. He had watched some of the ceremony, but not all of it. He did have the chance to congratulate his cadet on a job well done and talked to some of his colleagues. He would of loved to stay a bit longer, but he remembered that he had a message from the USS Hood.
Jason was extremely excited about this, having not talked to his parents in about ten months. Jason of course knew that the message would read "Call us" so that was what he would do.
"Computer activated long range communications, find the USS Hood, Captain Kriste Reynolds," Jason said as he took off his tunic and sat at his desk.
It took a couple of minutes, but the face of the Captain Reynolds appeared.
"Hi mom, dad, sorry for waking you guys up," Jason said as he saw his parents faces. For some reason their faces were sulked in, they eyes were red shot, and they looked so tired.
"Hey son, how are you doing?" Jason's dad asked excited to be talking to his oldest son.
"Dad that's not important, what's wrong with......what was that?" Jason asked as he heard a cry in the background. Shortly after he asked the question his mother came back into the picture holding two babies.
"Jason, I would like to introduce you to Justin and Lily," Kristie said holding them close to her chest," your new brother and sister."
Jason was speechless, had he heard his mother correctly. Had she just said brother and sister. She must have because there they were in front of him. Jason immediately felt extremely old.
"Well son say something," Erick said now holding Lily.
"Couldn't you of told me like a couple of months ago that you guys were expecting?" Jason said ruffling his hair.
"That's exactly what Matt said," Kristie said laughing," and we told him we wanted to surprise you guys."
"Well I'm surprised," Jason said smiling at his parents. As he saw his younger siblings, he couldn't help but remember his other brother Kyle. They had been close, but unfortunately fate had been cruel to their family. "Well Justin, Lily...wow I have a sister... I'm Jason your big brother."
The twins just cooed and blew bubbles as Jason spoke to them, but thats all that could be expected. They were adorable babies and Jason couldn't wait to actually hold them.
"Son, I know that we would like to talk more, but we need our sleep," Erick said," they are just like you and your brothers."
"Yes I know they are adorable and cute," Jason said with a big smile on his face.
"I didn't know you were a comedian Jason," Kristie said smiling as she put Justin in his crib."Son we will be passing by the Conqueror in a couple of weeks, hopefully you and your brother will be there."
"I will make sure that he is here mom," Jason said stifling a yawn," I love you guys."
"We love you to son," Kristie said before cutting the communications link. Jason smiled at the good news and quickly went to sleep. He would be shopping tomorrow and he would need some help buying for babies, but he knew the perfect person to ask.

For some reason unknown to Jason he had experienced the best sleep ever. He of course attributed it to the good news from his parents. Yet it also made Jason wonder of when he would start a family. He was already in his late twenties and as of now thier weren't any serious loves in his life, but right now that was not what he would think about. He had to get his new brother and sister the best present possible and he had decided that only one person would know what that would be.
"Computer get me a schematic of the base," Jason said as he looked at his computer. He quickly got the information that he wanted.
It took about twenty minutes for Jason to make it to his destination, which was due to his frequent stops of sight seeing.
Jason was having seconds thoughts about asking her to help him and he was about to back away from the situation, but the door open.
"Commander Hope I need your help," Jason said.

S'reena stiffled a yawn and wrapped her robe closer about her, as she squinted at Hanson's chief of operations. "Help?" she echoed, motioning for him to come in, "I'm sorry, you woke me up and the baby's have kept us up all night."
She motioned to the couch. "Please make yourself comfortable and help yourself at the replicator. I'll be right back." With that, she disappeared into the family bathroom, only to appear a few minutes later, fully dressed and looking a whole lot more awake.
"Now, what can i help you with?" she asked him.

As Jason was sitting at the Commander couch, he noticed that there were an assortment of toys littered around the living quarters. Jason smiled to himself noting that he had made the best choice. In fact his brother had told him about Commander Hope's children, especially Yarna, who he seemed to like more.
Commander Hope shortly reentered the room fully dressed and a bit more awake.
"Now, what can i help you with?" she asked him.
"Well Commander yesterday evening, I recieved news from my parents on the USS Hood," Jason started," and they told me that they had given birth to twins a couple of days ago."

"I'm here because I know that you have experience with children," Jason said smiling," and I would like your help finding my new siblings the perfect gift."

"Well Commander yesterday evening, I recieved news from my parents on the USS Hood," Jason started," and they told me that they had given birth to twins a couple of days ago."
"They?" S'reena chuckled. "Surely only your mother did the hard work on that part?" Her smile widened as she noticed her collegue's surprised stare. "I believe congratulations are in order then commander," she continued, "but that still doesn't explain why you are knocking on my door even before I've had my breakfast."
"I'm here because I know that you have experience with children," Jason said smiling," and I would like your help finding my new siblings the perfect gift."
Now, S'reena felt her cheeks warm up with both excitement and embarassment; it was a rare occasion that people came to her for help, if it wasn't work related. She had a few friends, but she rarely associated with people in her free time. She still experienced the brunt of prejudice towards Romulans, especially those in Starfleet.
"Well, I'm certainly honoured," she replied after a long silence, "so, are they boys? girls? one of each? What is your family like? I mean, not every child is the same." She motioned to her two eldest girls sitting on the floor, while the three infants were now learning to crawl. "None of mine are the same."

Jason smiled as he saw the two oldest children make their way towards there mother. Jason had really only known Commander Hope as a Starfleet Commander that you don't mess with, but at that very moment she was so caring and loving. It was a monumental change from he had seen in there last mission.
"Hello, girls," Jason said smiling at S'reena's oldest children.

"Okay back your question Commander," Jason said realizing that he had strayed off her original question. "Well they are one of each and Lily, the girl is three minutes older than Justin."
<S'reena>
"And I'm sure that you know that my family is the same exact way," Jason said," you have met Matt before."
<S'reena>
"Also if you don't mind, which of you is Yarna?" Jason asked the girls again. They were both silent until the other girl gave Yarna a slight push forward.
"I'm Yarna," Yarna said.
"Well my brother Matt met you a couple of months ago," Jason said," and he thought you were so cute. Personally I have to agree, but he sent me this to give to you."
Jason handed the small two year old child a nice box which Jason knew held a nice necklace that read Yarna Hope. He couldn't help but peek at it, before he brought it to its recipient.

"Hello, girls," Jason said smiling at S'reena's oldest children.
Both Kahlan and Yarna giggled shyly at the sudden attention and clung to their mother, hiding their faces in her tunic.
"Okay back your question Commander," Jason said realizing that he had strayed off her original question. "Well they are one of each and Lily, the girl is three minutes older than Justin."
"Please, do dispense with the rank, we're both off duty," S'reena said. She gazed intently at the younger man, whose entire demeanor gave off delight but also some unease. "One of each, the girl older...." She trailed off, in deep thought. "Well, I suppose a new mother always needs clothing for the infants..."
The Romulan smiled brightly. "I doubt she'll clothe them in something you and your brother wore when you were both infants. Now...other than that toys are also a good gift, especially when in a couple of months they'll start teething." She chuckled.
"And I'm sure that you know that my family is the same exact way," Jason said," you have met Matt before."
"I have no idea what you mean," she replied, almost too innocently, while she pulled Yarna onto her lap and shooed Kahlan off to pay attenton to the three infants crawling over the floor, but the older girl wouldn't leave. "I have my hands full on these children and yes I've met Matt. How is he anyway?"
"Also if you don't mind, which of you is Yarna?" Jason asked the girls again. They were both silent until the other girl gave Yarna a slight push forward.

Yarna smiled brightly, ignoring Kahlan's rather jealous stare. She didn't remember Matt Reynolds as she was too young to remember, but she loved being the centre of attention, especially now that most attention when to the triplets. She accepted the box, smiling with glee as she opened it.
"What do you say now Yarna?" her mother urged her.
"Thank you," Yarna said clearly, then leaned forward and planted a wet kiss on Jason's cheek.
S'reena chuckled. "She doesn't do that to everyone you know. We've discovered that Yarna's somewhat empathic, when Captain Marcell was in deep trouble. He was yelling at everyone, tried to kill me, but Yarna refused to leave her godfather. He's a good man, Captain Marcell is, and I was sad to see him leave. Yarna still misses him, though he's a faithful writer. She also will shy away from people she doesn't trust, but will be deeply affectionate to those she does trust."
She chuckled again. "She's almost as dependable as a weather barometer you know. Now, back to your own question. I suggest we spend some time going through the shops on Conqueror, I am certain we can find something suitable for your siblings, but also your parents."

Jason was almost unable to hold back his laughter. Matt was right when he said that S'reena had a sense of humor.
"Well Matt, I suppose he's okay," Jason said matter of factly," he got demoted recently and oh yeah he adopted a son."

"What do you say now Yarna?" her mother urged her.
"Thank you," Yarna said clearly, then leaned forward and planted a wet kiss on Jason's cheek.
"Oh no problem, hun, it was my pleasure to give you that gift," Jason said smiling back at the small child. Jason noticed that Kahlan had been rather mad that he hadn't recieved anything, but Jason would make sure that he would get something for S'reena's eldest child.
"She's almost as dependable as a weather barometer you know. Now, back to your own question. I suggest we spend some time going through the shops on Conqueror, I am certain we can find something suitable for your siblings, but also your parents."
"Well I guess she's the cutest barometer that I have ever seen," Jason said giving a smile to the child as she walked away to show her necklace to her mother.
"Why would I get a gift for my parents?" Jason asked puzzled. Jason never had to deal with these kinds of things and didn't know what he was suppose to do.

S'reena smiled patiently, it was obvious to her that Jason was indeed new to this. "Well if your brother adopted a son, perhaps congratulations are in order there. It is sort of human tradition, it seems, to present a new father with some kind of yellow alcoholic beverage. I have forgotten the name, and I don't have any around in my quarters anymore. It is similar to something called Advocaat, but it isn't called that."
<Jason>
"Now, if you'll assist me in getting the children settled, then we can go for some shopping and see what we can come up with for your new siblings, as well as your parents."

"Well Commander to be honest I don't know what your talking about," Jason said embarrassed," the last time I had an alcoholic beverage was seven years ago."
"Now, if you'll assist me in getting the children settled, then we can go for some shopping and see what we can come up with for your new siblings, as well as your parents."
"That is a great idea," Jason said standing for the first time. This time Jason took the time to look at S'reen'a triplets. They were beautiful just like there mother, Jason of course couldn't say the father, becaus he hadn't met him yet.
"S'reena what do you want me to do?" Jason asked," I haven't been around children or babies in a long time."

S'reena laughed. "Well then now is a good time as any to start practicing. Kahlan will insist on walking. Yarna can stand on that bar overthere on the buggy. You take her and Kyala, you'll need to strap Kyala in securely. I'll take the twin buggy for the boys."
She watched as Reynolds struggled to strap the infant girl in, a bemused smile on her face. "Very good, now let's go. Conqueror is a big station, we've got many shops to visit you know."

Jason should of known that S'reena's laughter was an ominous sign. He thought that putting one infant child into a simple machine would be well simple, but that was not the case. Kyala somehow sensed that Jason was a stranger and became very uncomfortable with him. How could a baby be uncomfortable, Jason didn't know, but he had a job to do.
"Kyala...your cute small feet go here....now Kyala come on...don't fight it...it will keep you safe," Jason begged as Kyala started fidgeting as he was putting her in. Jason hoped that S'reena was not seeing his ineptitude, and finally put Kyala into her seat.
"Very good, now let's go. Conqueror is a big station, we've got many shops to visit you know."
"We do how many are there?" Jason asked thinking that there would just be a few places where they could go shop.
<Tag S'reena>
"Oh, okay," Jason said feeling like he was sweating profusly. His attention was then centered upon Yarna who had been poking Jason for about two minutes. "Yes Yarna?"
"Lets go," Yarna said pratically pushing Jason out of the door.
"Okay, we will go, but we will let your mother go first," Jason said smiling at the young child," Commander after you."
