"Its good to see you too, Commander. I see you've been promoted while I was gone. Yes, it's good to see a familiar ship."
"Well, actually, I prefer it this way. It's the day to day work that I missed really. The constant challenge of keeping everything working in harmony was almost invigorating."
"Actually I was just about to leave the Bridge. I want to get back down to Engineering." He called over his shoulders to the technicians. "Boys, let me know if you have any trouble." He turned back. "If you'll excuse me."
The Klingon stepped back and allowed Dan to pass. He headed into the turbolift. When he exited, he walked down the hallway towards Engineering. He passed another Engineer, who said "Welcome back, Commander," as he passed. Dan then strode through the doors into Engineering.
It had the familiar buzz of activity, due to the repairs. There was the Warp Core in its mighty power. The swirling colors of the reaction were a welcome site. He was home.
Over at a console were two familiar faces; Joktel and Paria were checking a readout. Paria was working the panel, Joktel was looking on. They were in conversation about whatever they were looking at, with Paria looking at Joktel when she spoke. Joktel looked up, and saw Dan. He just stood there, looking at him in amazement. Paria looked at Joktel, then looked back to see what he was looking at. They both came over, with Joktel in the lead.
"Commander? What are you doing here? Are you...?"
Dan smiled. "Yes, Joktel, I'm back. Omicron wasn't quite to my liking, so I came back here."
Paria spoke up. "Well thats certainly good news for us. But wait, what about Nephi? What happens to him? Does he know?"
"Actually, yes he does. Speaking of which. Nephi! Where are ya?"
Nephi looked from around the corner of the CEO's Station. He smiled and came over. "Welcome back, Dan. I'll gladly hand this mess over to you."
"Well, looks like you're going to keep your job for a little while longer. Joktel, Paria, come with me. Let's meet our new Captain."
They left the room, and headed to the shuttlebay. When they entered, they saw quite a bit of the crew present. Joktel and Paria took spots near the front on the side, but Dan strode directly to front and center. He stood next to Alex, nodding to him when he reached him.
Then, the shuttlebay doors opened and the shuttle came in...

Alex stood with the rest of the crew of the Raven as the shuttle slowly settled to the deck. He was very curious as to who had been assigned to command the ship and what the big secret was.
He had assembled a small colour guard from Security. He had done some fast research on change of command aboard ship and had discovered that it was traditional for a new Captain to be piped aboard his ship. He glanced over at the lieutenant in charge of the guard and nodded slightly. She nodded back, brought the pipe up and blew the notes required.
"Company, attention!" Alex barked, and there was a simultanous stomp as the crew of the Raven followed the command. The door of the shuttle remained closed as the assembly waited in anticipation to see the new captain.

Weill could see the crew lined up and the senior staff lined up, he was so looking forward to taking over the new/ old vessel. He was considering how he was going to make his entrance, than he said
Weill: "Lt can you open the doors and than go through and stand on the right hand side of the doors"
Lt: " Yes of course sir"
Weill: " thankyou Lt"
The doors opened and the Lt walked out and stood by the door. Weill turned and pressed the transport button on the main panel, he had changed his mind from his orginal grand entrance. Than he fizzled to the small office that was the station for when a shuttle had entered the shuttlebay. There was nowone in there and he was very luckey on that point.
Weill walked out of the office, making sure he didnt draw attention to himself. Than he stood next to an Ensign that was at the back awaiting the new Captain.
Weill: " Hay whats going on?"
Ensign: " We are waiting for the CO"
Weill than walked forward as quickly as possible and directed all his attention towards the crew, by the end of his short walk he was standing on the small podeam that had been set for the "new" commanding officer.
Weill: " Now now now, thankyou for this welcome, and sorry for my rather unorthodox entrance, but i have always had a flare for the dramatic.......... and it was a test........ and Commander Dixon, close your mouth, there is a bus coming"
Crew: " Hahaha"
Dixon: " Sir.... its.... welcome back, its good to have you back at the helm"
Weill: " No No i hope not, I am the Captain Zoarial is the Helm, haha, isnt that right Commander Zoarial?"

The crew was assembled in shuttle bay 1 and from the looks of it, most people were most eager to find out who exactly their new commanding officer would be. However, when the doors finally opened and everybody, including Amhil, waited for the person to enter, nothing happened. After a few seconds, their were some low whispers from various people, who wondered if their new CO was going to show up or not.
Amhil scanned the crowd for some kind of sign that someone knew what was going on, but even the ensign who had just stepped out of the shuttle seemed just as puzzled as the rest of them. The doctor was just about to ask the person next to her, in this case Zoarial, what was happening, when Weill walked up to the podium from the opposite side of were everyone was looking. At first Amhil just stared, not understanding what he was doing here. But when she finally understood he was their new CO, pleasant surprise was written on her face.
However, Alex still seemed to be in stage 1, because he looked like he had seen a ghost. Weill took the opportunity to re-introduce himself as CO and after that the commander finally found his voice back.
"Sir..! It's ..." He had trouble thinking of what to say, but finally decided on a; "Welcome back, it's good to have you back at the helm."
Amhil silently agreed that it was indeed nice to have Weill back. Almost a kind of relieve, because they could have gotten a very bad CO.
Or someone with no sense of humor. Amhil thought, as she looked at the new/old captain already joking around. It was indeed good to have both Weill and their former chief engineer, Dan, back

Zoarial was just as surprised as everyone was when a mere Lieutenant stepped out of the shuttle. Zoarial immideately thought back about his time as a lieutenant, and he was gratefull that he wasn't in his place. He was tapped on his broad shoulder by Amhil, but before she was able to say a word he was interrupted by a voice.
Zoarial turned around to see someone very familiar standing on the small stage. He immedeately reckognized Gus' face but it was weird to see him wearing another uniform than he wore as a captain. It might be because Zoarial sometimes lacked a good sense of humour, because suddenly everybody in the bay was laughing about some remark Zoarial faintly caugth as being about a bus comming or something like that.
Dixon: Sir.... its.... welcome back, its good to have you back at the helm"
Weill: No No i hope not, I am the Captain. Zoarial is the Helm, haha, isnt that right Commander Zoarial?"
Zoarial: You're right Captain Weill, I was already frightened a bit from the first officer's chair, and my shoulders are not nearly strong enough to support 4 pips!
Again everyone in shuttlebay laughed, while Zoarial was dead-serious; he still felt a bit weakened by the previous mission. Nevertheless he decided to go straight to bridge to be able to respond to any command immideately.
After Zoarial patiently waited for all the formalities to end and after all hands had been shaken, he went to the bridge to rearrange everything at his post. Everything was cleaned up and rearranged because of the repairs and minor alterations. The first mission for Zoarial was the quest for the PADD. It had always been within reach, on one of his arm rests but he just couldn't find it right now. Luckily, help was nearby.
Zoarial: Mr Vegas, I guess that you are the one who worked here untill we arrived at the starbase, did you per chance notice where my PADD has gone to?
David: On the place where it's supposed to be commander, in the side pocket of your seat.
Zoarial: Right... thank you very much lieutenant, carry on
Zoarial didn't like looking foolish, but with his PADD in his hand he felt like looking really proffesional. He pretended to tag some items on an imaginary list and adjusted the screens to show exactly what he wanted to see. He sat down and his seat felt as comfortable as it had always been, Zoarial couldn't wait to depart on another whirlwind of adventure, sadly he had to wait for the repairs to be done.

After the intial shock, Weill allowed the crew to get back to their duties and he gave a few official, formal orders that had to be done whenever a Commanding Officer took over a vessel.
Commander Dixon asked Weill what he would like to do, this Weill knew exactly, he wanted to go to the hub, the centre, the focal point of the great vessel.
Weill: " Commander lets go to the bridge, if there is anything you have to do, please go ahead"
Dixon: " Thankyou sir, i shall just check all departments"
Weill: " Oh Commander, congratulations on your promotion, it was long overdue and i am glad you have got the post on this vessel.
Dixon: " Thankyou very much sir"
Weill walked out of the shuttleb ay and he noticed that the remanents of the essembled crew were looking at him in rather and unusual fashion, he than got into the turbolift and went straight up to the bridge. He has the same anticipation, that he had, had when he first took command, all that time ago, it was a feeling of great anticipation but one thing was better than last time, he didnt have the fear of taking command, with nowone else, last time he had felt that the crew were just as experianced as him but he commanded, Commander Majeski had served longer as a starfleet officer than Weill. But all these fears had washed away, he was back in familiar surroundings, on a ship he choose and a crew he had handpicked, all with great, near lengendary reputations.
The bridge really was a hub/ hive of activity, he saw that his order to Dantrek was being carried out, the new chair balanced the bridge, and it also meant when important guests arrived he would not have to make them sit on a hard panel.
Weill walked around to his chair, it hadnt changed, and he felt he had the same urge that any new Commanding Officer has, to try the chair and see if it still commands the splendour and greatness that it iis supposed to do..................... Weill sat and it was perfect, than before anyone noticed he got up and said in his usual tone.
Weill: " I shall be in my ready room, Zoarial, can you make sure all department heads report their status to me before we depart"
Zoarial: " Yes Captain"
Weill walked into his ready room, he could tell that somone else had been in there, there were a pile of padds on the desk, he picked them up and put them on the settee that was along below the window, he than indicated where he wanted his boxes left, than they were transported. He set the office up so it was like before, he felt right at home, it must have taken him 30 minutes than he walked backout onto the bridge, the bridge was a lot tidier, the teams had moved and Weill saw Dixon was over by Zoarials console.
Weill: " Commander, have you asked the department heads for reports on the status?"
Dixon: "Yes Sir, they are getting them done now, isnt that right Zoarial?"
Zoarial: "Yes i am getting mine done"
Weill: " Commander Dixon, will you walk around the ship with me, give me a tour if you will, show me what has changed and i can just inspect, so i can see for myself what has been done"
Dixon: " Of course sir"
Weill and Dixon walked around the bridge to the turbolifts and than they went down to deck 2.

Captain Weill quietly watched his new first officer as the turbolift made it's way from deck 1 to 2. Dixon seemed to have changed from the eager lieutenant who had boarded the Raven not long ago. He seemed more careworn and tired since Weill had last seen him. It seemed that Alex wasn't quite ready to take command of a ship, although he had done a nice job under the circumstances.
The two of them quickly examined deck 2. There wasn't much on this deck, just senior officers quarters, some labs and upper sensor platform subsystems. Alex briefly described how the sensors had been recalibrated and aligned to try to counteract the effects of the Briar Patch, and Weill nodded appreciatively. "How much did affect did the changes have?" he asked.
"About a 15% improvement in target resolution, and a 10% improvement in range. Unfortunately, that increase will only apply if the ship is in another nebula" Alex replied. "But the configuration has been stored, so it can be implemented a lot faster next time."
Having finished Deck 2, Alex and Weill called a turbolift for the next deck. "Um, Captain?" Weill looked over. "If I may ask, what made you decide to come back? You seemed pretty determined to make a go of your change in career."

Weill: "Well, its a good question Commander and i......... well its odd, but this is where i should be, i went thinking i should develop other areas of my career and job, and thna become a staff officer, but no"
Dixon: " I quite understand sir, its understandable"
Weill: " Well you did a good job in my absense, and you have changed from the officer i left, apart from a change in uniform colour"
Dixon: " Yes i know what you mean, i sometimes have doubts about who i am when i look in the mirror"
The turbolift door opened and they entered a new deck, it looked cleaner and lighter, Weill remembered it and it was almost chilly, he didnt know what had changed, it was only after a few seconds he realised it was the actual temperature.

Alex noticed the sudden discomfort of Captain Weill. It was quite cold on this deck. "Sorry sir" he apologized "but environmental controls on this deck were knocked out during our little run in the Briar Patch. It's on the list of repairs, but it's a fairly low priority right now. Once the main systems are back online, we can deal with these smaller annoyances."
They were on Deck 3 at this point, and the Captain's Quarters were on this deck. Mr. Dixon may think my quarters being extremely cold is low on the priority list, Weill thought to himself, but it isn't on mine. He made a mental note to move this problem up on the priority list before he had to go to bed.
The tour continued, with Dixon keeping up a constant barrage of information regarding damage to the Raven. The majority of it was superficial, until the two of them came to Deck 12. They paused to review the extent of the damage. "What was the cause of this, Commander?" Weill asked, extremely annoyed.
"Sir, this was where the majority of the fighting between Security and the Jem Hadar took place. Also, the Jem Hadar were attempting to access antimatter conduit, here." Alex gestured at a large area of ripped out wall plates, scattered tools and wrecked Starfleet equipment. There was also a repair team here, trying to fix up the damage. "We believe that the Jem Hadar were capturing and stripping ships of parts so they could get their own vessel back to their space. It seems that they were after our antimatter and were trying to move it into stasis bottles."
"And how did they get aboard?" the Captain asked.
"The Jem Hadar somehow generated a Calendenium wave inside the nebula that hit a hydrogen pocket. The resulting explosion knocked out the majority of our systems. By the time that we got things back online, they had boarded by way of a shuttle" Alex reported.
"Over here..." Alex motioned up the corridor, "was where Commander Zoarial and Ens. Harper attacked the Jem Hadar." The two of them walked up toward the indicated area. The walls and floor were covered with phaser and disruptor burns. There were also some areas that were soaked with blood.
"I trust this will be cleaned up soon?" Weill asked softly.
"Yes, sir" Alex said sadly. The two of them were quiet for a moment, then Dixon continued. "I'm afraid the tour will have to end here. Decks 13 to 15 are still being cleaned up by the decontamination teams. Perhaps we could go to Engineering."
Weill nodded soberly and they made their way to engineering. The room was a hive of activity, with Dan Trek acting as the queen bee, driving his engineers cheerfully onward. Weill and Dixon stood for several minutes, watching the bustle. Everyone here was so busy they failed to notice the Captain and First Officer, until finally Alex said "Commander Trek, could we have a status report, please?"

When the Captain was done with the business, Dan turned and headed towards the door. He nodded to Joktel and Paria, and they fell in step next to him. They headed to Engineering. When Dan got there, he headed straight to Nephi.
"Nephi, you're relieved. I'll take over now. The Vesuvius is probably waiting for you."
"Yes, sir. Actually theyre not due here for a day or so, but I'll go just the same."
Nephi left Engineering, then Dan turned back to Joktel and Paria.
"Alright, lets get going. Lets do a full systems check to see what our problems are."
Dan went over to his Station and started running scans. The nacelles needed a little repair work. The EPS conduits were running a little below specs. The environmental system wasnt running so well, leaving a few decks a little chilly. Theres metal fatigue all over the place. Duranium isnt easy to repair. Alright."
They spent the next several minutes checking over systems.
"What the Jeffries tube when the EPS overload occurred look like?"
Joktel turned. "You can take a look for yourself. Nephi rigged up a mobile sensor platform. It has audio, visual, and a full sensor platform. He even made a control interface for a console."
"I knew that boy had potential. Where is it?"
"In a storage locker. We could just beam it into place."
"Sounds good. Do it."
Joktel turned to the console, and a few moments later the bot was in place. Joktel brought up the interface, and Dan looked around at the controls.
"Nice work, Nephi. Let's see what we got here."
He panned around, looking at the area. The system look repaired. He checked the sensors, and they confirmed it.
"Commander Trek, could we have a status report, please?"
Dan looked at the source of the voice. Captain Weill and Commander Dixon were looking at him.
"Ah, didn't see you there, sirs. I certainly can. We've got the warp systems just about ready to go, although I'll have to stop by nacelle control to make sure of that. The Warp Core is just fine. Environmental systems are a little out of whack, causing some decks to be a little chilly."
Captain Weill nodded. "Yes, including my quarters. Commander, I would like you to have that fixed by the time I go to bed tonight."
"Yes, sir. I'll do that work myself."

Weill had just made the point to Commander Dantrek that he wanted his quarters warm, he had to be clear and concise, he than wondered when the mission was going to start.
Zoarial: "< Captain there is a communication for you>"
Weill: " On my way Commander"
Weill turned to Dixon
Weill: " Commander could you please continue your duties, i am hoping we can cast off soon, i want us to get under way"
Dixon: "Yes Captain"
Weill walked to the nearest spare console and than turned it on
Weill: "< Can you put the communication through to panel 34>"
Zoarial: "< Done sir>"
The face of Admiral Hunter appeared, he looked well but slightly different.
Weill: " Hello Admiral, are you ready to come aboard?"
Hunter: " Yes of course, but i must make it clear now that this isnt an inspection, there are complications, i shall inform you when i come aboard"
Weill: " Of course, we will be ready for your arrival"
Hunter: "I shall be over in a few minutes, dont wait up, i will meet you on the bridge if that is ok, i would like to get a lay of the land"
Weill turned the console off and he walked as fast as possible to his ready room, he had a few things to do before the Admiral arrived.

Soon after getting to his ready room, he was contacted my the transporter chief that Admiral Hunter had arrived, he had got everything he needed done in his ready room, so he walked onto the bridge and within about two minutes Admiral Hunter walked onto the bridge, he looked well but Weill noticed everytime he looked at Hunter, Hunter looked slightly different.
Harper: " Admiral on the bridge"
Weill: "Welcome aboard Admiral"
Hunter: " Thankyou Captain it is good to be aboard, may we speak in private?"
Weill: " Yes of course, my ready room is just over there"
They walked into the ready room, Weill than sat down and Admiral Hunter stood opposite him, Hunter started talking.
15 Minutes later.............
Weill and Hunter walked out of the ready room, Weill didnt say anything he just sat in his centre chair and Hunter walked around the bridge, without saying a word, Than Weill purked up.
Weill: " Commander Zoarial, would you be so good as to show Admiral Hunter his quarters?"
Zoarial: " Yes of course sir"
Hunter: " Thankyou Captain"
Hunter and Zoarial walked out, Weill couldnt believe what he had just heard, it beggered belief, but it was beyond protocal as well, he was unable to tell anyone else on the ship, even his own First Officer, hence the reason for Admiral Hunter arrival. Weill didnt believe a word of it, but he had to go through with it.
OFF: I SHALL POST AS MAXWELL HUNTER AS WELL FOR THIS MISSION.

Luckily Zoarial came to the conclusion that not all admirals were spoiled officers.
As he escorted admiral Hunter to the assigned quarters they had quite an interesting conversation about the Jem'Hadar and Vorta. This friendly meeting swept away the prejudice that Zoarial had gotten from his previous encounter with an admiral.
Zoarial: Here are your quarters sir. If you are in need of anything you can send a message and I will have someone of the crew get it to you. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy your stay no the Raven.
Zoarial patiently waited to be dismissed and immedeately returned to the bridge. When he got there he walked in a straight line to him console, but as he glanced over his shoulder he saw that the captain looked a bit troubled.
Zoarial: I have taken the admiral to his quarters Captain Weill, and I have assigned ensign Fartrust to fulfill any of admiral Hunter's wishes.
<<weill>>
Zoarial: Yes sir. And might I inquire why you are looking concerned captain? Do you dislike being back aboard the Raven?

Weill: " I am afraid you can ask Commander, but i wont be giving you a response"
Zoarial: " Understood sir, sorry sir"
Weill: " Commander i will be in my quarters, will you take the conn until the return of Commander Dixon, when he arrives could you send him to my quarters"
Zoarial: " Yes sir"
Weill: " Mr Harper, could you send an invitation to the Admiral to dine with the senior staff this evening, and lket all the senior staff know, i expect them to be there, in full dress uniform...... understood?"
Harper: " Yes sir"
Weill was irritable and so he went to his quarters, he sat on his high backed chair and put on some Haydn in an attempt to cheer himself up, it didnt work, he than went to the replicator to get some lunch, he had a ploughmans with Brie de Meux, Double Gloucester and some Epoisse de Bourgogne. This would ordinarily have meade Weill feel a lot better and thna he would have been much better when going back on duty. Instead he ate it with his usual relish, but when he had finsihed he just slumped back into his chair and fell asl.eep

Alex walked out of Engineering, as the Captain had requested he complete his duties so the Raven could cast off. There really wasn't a whole lot left for him to do. Really, just talk to the departement heads to see that their systems were mostly online.
He got in touch with them individually and arranged a meeting in the First Officers (his) office on Deck 2. It was kind of strange being there, and he had to admit it was the first time that he had ever even been inside.
The section heads were all there when he arrived. The notable exception was Giga, an android science officer that had just been assigned to the ship. Alex had been expecting him to arrive before now, but the new officer had yet to arrive.
He received the reports of all the section heads. They seemed fairly happy and repairs to each of their sections were proceeding. They all felt that another day in dock would see the Raven worthy to head out on another mission. Alex acknowledged their reports, forwarded the summaries to the captain's attention. He also appointed Lt. Collaan to be temporary head of the science section until Giga showed up.
Alex left his office and went up to the bridge. Commander Zoarial was manning his station as usual, but things were quiet, as they usually were while the ship was docked. He sat down in the First Officers chair and checked Engineering's progress in getting things repaired. Dan Trek was proceeding with his usual efficiency, and most systems were back online, including the environmental controls for the deck where the Captain's quarters were. Captain's prerogative, Alex thought to himself, smiling.
"Sir?" a voice spoke, interrupting his thoughts.
Alex looked up to see that Zoarial had turned to face him. "Yes, Commander?" Alex replied.
"The captain requested that you report to his quarters when you were finished your duties. Also, that there will be a formal reception for Admiral Hunter. Full dress uniform requested" the Klingon informed him.
"Admiral Hunter? Who's that?" Alex asked.
Zoarial shrugged. "An admiral who is aboard for our upcoming mission, whatever it is. I asked the captain what we were going to be doing, but he said he couldn't respond."
"Thanks. You've got the bridge." Alex stood up and boarded a turbolift for the Captain's quarters. Great, another secret mission started by an Admiral. He still hadn't gotten over his experience from the last one, and was already not looking forward to their next mission.
Alex stepped off the turbolift and walked down the corridor. Reaching the correct door, he activated the door chime for the captain's quarters.

After leaving the Vorta and Commander Zoarial on the Starbase, Nathan went off to exercise some of his excess energy off in the holodeck.
He was frustrated. He was Cheif of Security of the Raven. He should of stayed with the Vorta, but Zoarial was his supperior. Maybe he was just being childish.
*****
After a severe workout on the holodeck on the Raven Nathan headed for his quaters to wash and change ready for duty.
He left his quaters. His uniform fresh, his hair slightly damp from the shower.
He headed for the Bridge but his route was changed when he heard the new commanding officer was coming aboard.
He decided he should probbaly be there.
****
After the initial but welcome shock of seeing Captain Weill again, Nathan headed for the Bridge. The Raven would be departing soon and he wanted to begin security checks before they left to avoid unwelcome surprises.
OFF: I am sorry for the poor quality of this post. I just wanted to catch up! Good to see Captain Weill and Commander Dan Trek back!

GUS WEILL:
Weill was getting into his dress uniform, it was far more comfortable than old type, which had almost skin tight leggings, he couldnt understand why some found the collars so tight, he just made sure when he had it made, it was comfortable. He had just put on his dress, incredibly shiney regulation boots, he still polished his boots by hand even though you could get a machine to do it. It was just his way, he had always followed it as it was the way he had been taught and directed when he was a young cadet.
After some minutes he quickly walked out of his quarters to get to the dining room before anyone else, it would be wrong for the host to be there last. He walked into the dining room before anyone, except for a crewman in smart dress just putting the last dishes out.
Crewman: " Shall i do this later sir?"
Weill: " No please carry on, if any other officers come in, could you direct them to the Captains lounge for drinks"
Crewman: " Of course sir, i shall put a man on the door to do it sir"
Weill: " Thankyou Crewman"
Weill made sure he made a mental noet of the mans name, face and rank, he seemed very helpful.
..........................
MAXWELL HUNTER:
Hunter was just putting on his dress uniform, it was far more used than most others as now he was an Admiral, he attended functions far more often, he put on his boots than straightened his comm badge than walked out of the door to the Captains dining room.

Alex had rang the chime to the Captain's door twice, but there had been no answer. Then he checked Weill's whereabouts. According to the computer, he was in there.
He must have fallen asleep, Alex thought to himself. Quietly, he turned and tiptoed away from the door until he turned the corner where a repair crew was working on a damaged EPS conduit. The sight of a tiptoing Commander must have surprised them, as the four crewmen stopped working long enough to start at Alex incredulously. He opened his mouth to explain, then just said "Carry on" and the four returned to their duties.
Shaking his head, Alex continued walking down the corridor to the turbolift. Getting some sleep probably wasn't such a bad idea. He had been on duty pretty much continuously since the Raven had been in the Briar Patch. He got the lift moving up to Deck 2, got off and walked to his quarters. His stuff was in another pile, as it had been so many times over the last year or so, but he was too tired to sort it all out right now. However, he did quickly do one thing. Looking through the pile, he found the image of Patricia's Planet, the first discovery he had made while aboard the Hepta. Alex chose a display wall and hung the picture up, moving several lights so that it was displayed properly.
That done, we wandered to his bunk, collapsed and quickly fell asleep.
<Several hours later>
Refreshed, Alex was donning his dress uniform. He couldn't remember that last time he had put it on. His best guess was his graduation from the Academy. He had come a long way since then.
Alex did a final check in the mirror. Everything seemed to be on straight, so he walked out and made his way to the dining room. Entering quietly, he could see the steward putting the finsihing touches on the place settings. It looked very nice.
At the sound of the door closing, the steward looked up and nodded at Dixon, who acknowledged teh man back. He returned to work while Alex wandered over to the main viewport. There was no one else here yet, so he stared out into the cavernous dock of Starbase Assailant. There were dozens of ships present. Federation, Klingon, Orion, Packled and others that he couldn't remotely guess. He was just turning back to the room when the words "Commander Dixon" floated out of the darkness in the corner of the dining room, making him jump.
Captain Weill moved quietly from the corner where he had been watching his First Officer.
"Good evening Captain" Alex replied, getting his nerves under control. "Practicing your stealth techniques again?"
Weill grinned slightly. "Always good to keep those skills sharp. Never know when they might come in handy. The ability to startle first class commanders is always useful."
Now that he was over his surprise, Alex grinned back. "Also useful in avoiding change in command ceremonies and Admiral's banquets."
Weill laughed and nodded. It was good to be back aboard the Raven, he thought. Then he could see Alex turn serious. "What is our new mission, Captain? I've heard that there's an Admiral aboard and you've avoided talking about what we're up to with Commander Zoarial. I had a rather large argument with Admiral Moratz after we recovered him from the Jem Hadar regarding secret missions, and it seems that we're getting into another one."

Weill had just startled Commander Dixon for a second time and he realised he should stop, but it seemed to be cheering the Commander up.
Dixon had asked Weill a question he knew officially he couldnβt answer.
Weill: " Alex, its not about a mission you will be pleased to know"
Dixon: " Oh good, may i ask what it is"
Weill: " Have you heard of the Telvin 3 Event?"
Dixon: " The station that blew up without reason?"
Weill: " Yes Commander thatβs the one and unfortunately i am linked to that station rather strongly, or rather not the station but some of the people that were on it temporarily on it"
Dixon: " I see Captain, i am very sorry"
Weill: "The scout vessel USS Triumvir was in the area and the senior staff had gone over and it went up, the Captain was my cousin, one of my closest"
Dixon: " I am sorry sir. i assume the Admiral told you the details"
Weill: " Yes the incident is still a security level 2, so you and i are the only ones on this ship who can know and you only by me telling you"
Dixon: " Understood sir"
A chime came upon from the door and Admiral Hunter walked in and than Weill got up and poured 3 Sherrys.
Weill: " Welcome Admiral, this is my new First Officer, Commander 1st Class Alex Dixon"
Hunter: " Very nice to meet you Commander, you have been mentioned to me before, congratulations on reaching First Officer, it was very well deserved, we need good officers"
Dixon: " Thankyou sir"

Dan got changed into his Dress Uniform. He remembered when the uniform was first made. He had to have it custom tailored to fit his large size. The tailor was quite amazed by his bulk. This uniform was far more stiff than most other uniforms. He greatly preferred his Engineer's vest. He also didnt like white clothing either. Far too difficult to keep clean.
He left his quarters, and headed for the Captains Lounge. He approached the glass door. He entered his access code and the door opened. There were benefits to being the Chief Engineer; he could access any area on the ship. He walked inside, and there was Captain Weill, Commander Dixon, and an Admiral Dan had not yet met.
"Greetings gentleman, Admiral," he said bowing slightly.
Weill turned. "Welcome, Commander. Admiral this is my Chief Engineer, Commander 1st Class Dan Trek."
Hunter's face showed recognition. "Ah yes, I've heard of you. Not just because of your Engineering work, but also of your unique species. You're the only one of your kind in Starfleet."
"That would be because my people are considerably xenophobic, Admiral." He turned to the Captain. "Captain, you'll be happy to know repairs are complete. We've also had a few improvements. Nephi added some protocols to Engineering that had the place running more efficiently than when I was around. Naturally I'll be keeping those protocols in action. We've also have a new Emergency Medical Hologram, the EMH Mark 6. He is quite sociable. Although I think Doctor Amhil was slightly offended by the upgrade. Don't think she likes the idea of being possibly usurped in skill by a piece of technology. But anyway, I'm sure she'll deal with it. That is to say, she'll never use it."
"I'm glad to hear it, Commander. Good work. Would you like a drink?" He reached for a glass of what looked to be Sherry.
Dan put up his hand. "No thank you, sir. My physiology doesnt react well to human alcohol or synthehol. It's basically an allergic reaction. Although it's nothing compared to what would happen if a human would to drink ours. Our alcohol would make you have a psychotic episode."

Admiral Hunter, Captain Weill, Commander Trek and Alex stood quietly chuckling about Trek's anecdote. Alex thought to himself that his past was checkered with the occasional psychotic episode due to alcohol, but he wasn't about to bring up that kind of subject here. Those days were long ago.
"Who else are we still expecting, Gus?" Hunter asked.
Weill looked around the still mostly empty room. "Just Dr. Amhil, Cmdr. Zoarial and our Chief of Security, Ens. Harper. We also have a new Chief Science Officer, but he's still on his way here from the Tiger Shark."
Hunter nodded, then searched for a different subject as the silence stretched out. "Commander Dixon, I understand that you ended up in charge of the Raven for the last mission. Tell me how that came about."
So, Alex spent several minutes describing the Raven's trip to the Briar patch and the events leading up to his first ship command. The other three officers got caught up in the story. Trek and Weill had already read the report, but it was different hearing it from someone who had been there. Hunter laughed when Alex told him a slightly toned down version of his confrontation with Admiral Moratz in the ready room of the Raven.
"Moratz always was a little excitable, and being held captive on a Jem Hadar ship for 3 days would make anyone edgy. I'm sure he was happy to get to the Sutherland and get on with his mission, whatever it was." Hunter grinned. However, Alex thought the Admiral's eyes were a little shifty on this. More security protocol. Alex was starting to wonder what was going on in Section 47 that so many secrets were being kept.
Alex shrugged mentally. Time to throw a few rocks at the hornets nest. "So Admiral, what department in Starfleet are you with?"

Amhil tore her eyes of the book in front of her and shot a look at the chronometer. Her eyes widened when she saw what time it was. She had been so absorbed in the book that she had totally forget to check the time every now and then. She knew it had been a bad idea to go and read just before the dinner, but she couldn't help herself. Only a few more minutes and Zoarial would probably be here, and Amhil still had to get dressed and do her hair.
She snapped the book shut and tucked it under her pillow before quickly climbing of her bunk, nearly knocking some pictures over in the process. Luckily, she had put the clothes on top of her desk, so she didn't have to search for them. However, buttoning up her shirt and trying to get her boots on at the same time was more difficult than expected. A quick look in the mirror told her what she had expected. After finishing with her boots, she grabbed the comb, which already had a few black strands stuck in it, and started combing her hair.
The familiar chirp of the door came before Amhil had time to put her hair back. She cursed her absolute talent for not getting ready on time for anything in her life. "Come in!" She called, deciding that for once she would not pull her hair back, and leave it as it was.
The door opened, revealing Zoarial, looking quite different in a dress uniform. During lunch in the Mess he had offered to go by her quarters before going to the dinner. Amhil grinned. "Looks nice." She commented on the uniform. Zoarial looked at her hair. "You too." He replied, while he stepped aside to let her through. Amhil just laughed at that. The door closed behind her and they made their way to the Captains Lounge.
Amhil had never really liked to be the first one, be it on a party or something like this, so she was relieved to see that almost everybody was already there.
"Good evening gentlemen." She said as both of them entered. She had the feeling they had interrupted a bit of chitchat, but saw they didn't really mind. Especially the Admiral, who Amhil now saw for the first time, seemed quite glad with the newcomers.

It felt to Zoarial like some kind of date, but he couldn't possibly see it like that. He was just going to pick the CMO up on his way to the dining room, with no special feelings.
Zoarial felt very uncomfortable in the dress uniform but that was because the last time he had worn it, he was a size too big for it. It resulted in a ripped jacket, and a lot of humilitation. This time Zoarial made sure that everything was in the correct size, but still he felt like he had to raise his chin because of the stiffened collar.
The path to Amhil's quarters were now familiar to Zoarial. He could exactly tell what was behind every door, the majority of the rooms were also quarters, and he knew how much steps it took till the next corner.
*3,2,1* Zoarial mumbled to himself, he looked up and saw the door to Amhils quarters. He was about to enter when he remembered that it was a bit inpolite not to ring the bell.
Amhil: Come in!
And Zoarial stepped in the doorway, only to discover that he was the centre of attention.
Amhil: Looks nice
Zoarial: You too!
But Zoarial immideately regretted that he had said that, because he thought that it sounded far to harsh.
As he stepped aside and Amhil passed him, Zoarial thought about a way to excuse himself, but when he got a smile from Amhil he decided not to, because it seemed that Amhil wasn't bothered.
When they entered the captains room, Zoarial officially greeted the admiral for the second time, although he had met him before.
Zoarial: I hope that I am not interrupting any conversation sirs?

Zoarial felt a bit weird in his body, and decided to go to the bathroom. As he went to the exit he overheard the conversation of two waiters.
1st waiter: Hey Bill, would you please put that bucket of oysters in the garbage disposal unit? It has been standing there for 3 months now!
2nd waiter: Sure, I will get right to it!
Zoarial thought back about earlier that day.
He decided to take a look to see which food was prepared for the dinner, so he entered the kitchen.
He just hadn't been able to neglect the oysters which were placed under one of the tables, it was some of his favourite food.
*Odd place to put them* Zoarial had thought to himself as he snatched one of the creatures out of the bucket. The oyster tasted really good, they even had a kind of bitter taste that Zoarial really liked.
Zoarial saw the waiter pick up the basket and walk away with it. Suddenly he identified the odd feeling that he had. He decided that it would be best to go to sickbay immideately and took a quick sprint to the nearest lift.
*Great...* He thought to himself *A klingon officer, put down by food poisoning*
Zoarial felt warmer every step, but was already close to sickbay. When he entered, he saw that only one nurse was on duty, so he walked towards her.
Zoarial: Hello Nurse, I... hate... fish...
And with those words he fell down on the nearest biobed.
OFF: I'll be gone this week, and I felt that it would be nice to give a reasonable explanation in the story. Have fun with the simming guys!

Nathan didnt know why but Admirals annoyed him.
He was sure that they had earnt the rank and privelages that came with it but he still didnt like them. Maybe because they were just such high security risks. It meant more work for him.
He frowned as he struggled with his dress uniform. More practical than previous ones but in combat it would be no use. Nowhere to put a phaser or weapon of any description. The belt didnt allow for the phaser holster.
He decided it was time to make some modifications. The Cheif of Security could hardly turn up to an event with an Admiral present and not be ready for anything.
20 minutes later Luke was dressed in a slightly adapted dress uniform. A phaser holstered in his belt and a small Klingon knife that no-one need to know about strapped to the bottom of his leg.
Nathan entered the Captain's room a while later. Saluting smartly to his senior officers.
"Good evening everyone." He said.
