Nack laid back down in his bed, the restraints having been lifted from him some time ago, even though the Doctor's orders were still to stay as still as possible. The bed was beginning to be too restrictive, even without restraints, and the up-and-at-'em attitude of the Ferengi was starting to overcome his calmness.
"I'm feeling better. I think I can at least make it to the briefing." The briefing, he checked the chronometer, should have begun by now.
He stood up, immediately feeling dizzy. It was the first time he had stood since his episode in Doctor Waterson's quarters, and had to immediately sit down, vomiting into the pan to his side due to the vertigo he was experiencing.
Not wanting to be pampered by the nurse, he cleaned his own lips off. The blood thinning agents that the Doctor had administered were causing a low blood pressure, which in turn caused the dizziness. It was not a pleasant feeling, and Nack had no intention of trying it again. Instead, he sat in his bed.
=/\= Computer, patch me through to the briefing room. =/\= He might as well look in on the briefing while he was sitting there. He had already reviewed Waterson's material, for the most part. The holes still needed to be filled in, and instead of forcing Commander Trek to repeat the briefing later on, he figured he would just watch.
The viewscreen to his side showed an empty briefing room.
=/\= Commander Trek, =/\= Nack started on his combadge, the blood pressure monitor showing a slight increase, =/\= Status of the briefing? =/\=
the ship needed to get underway. Surely Commander Waterson was not going to gain any ground on holding still, but also did not have the authority to get the ship moving either.
Attempting to be Captain in his sickbay bed, he hoped the question, which he knew the answer to, would coax the First Officer to get the show on the road.

=/\= Commander Trek, status of the briefing? =/\=
The Captain hadn't identified himself, but he hardly needed to.
"It will begin shortly sir," Dan promised as much as reported, taking the hint.
Dan tapped his commbadge again. =/\= Captain Trek to all Senior Staff. Change in plans; report to the Briefing Room immediately =/\=
A few minutes later, all the necessary personnel were seated in the Briefing Room.
"Our next assignment is of a different sort than we've had recently. I'll let our guest explain it, as she can do a better job than I. Everyone, this is Dr. Lisa Waterson," he said, gesturing to the woman on his right. "She's a Medical Investigator with Starfleet Intelligence, and has been assigned to us as a mission specialist. The floor is yours, Doctor."

OOC: I'll do this as a back-post as everyone has just been gathered in the briefing room.
Seth entered sickbay and briefly had time to look around, he glimpsed Captain Nack who was lying on the primary biobed, on the other side of sickbay from Seth. Dr.Grey appeared from around the corner and immediately signalled him to a biobed. Seth hadn't been in a real sickbay on a Starfleet ship before, so it was something of an experience for him. Seth sat down, rather uneasily, on the biobed and looked at the Doctor before she began,
"You've had several broken bones, ensign," she started, "could you clarify what might have happened? It doesn't look like they happened all at once, but I've been incorrect about a few things before."
Seth smiled, to himself more than anything. He knew that this was the thing that would come up, it was the only thing that could come up. It wasn't as if there was anything else on his record to talk about... "That's right," he said in reply to the first statement, "And no they did not happen all at once... but, hmm," was what Seth decided to end the sentence with.
The Doctor smiled, "Humor me, Seth." She said. "What it says in this drab, sterile chart is usually quite different from the real facts. By the way, how's your teeth? Solid? Brushing regular, are you?"
What?? he thought, he looked at her with a slight edge of incredulity, she laughed. Seth looked downwards and smiled, he decided that he liked this Doctor. Not afraid to lighten the mood... which Seth liked, and recently, had aspired to be able to do. It had been easy for him back at home, on Ascension. He had been around people he knew and trusted, he had felt comfortable. Among the masses of Federation citizens, people he felt little or no connection with, and was angry at (the leaders anyway), he felt constricted by something, something deep down.
"Seth, if you have bad teeth," continued the Doctor. "Cavities and all that, then you've probably got a weak sketetal structure. Now, back to my original question. Give me a run-down on your broken bones."
Whoa, oh no.. He didn't want to go there, at least, not too far in that direction. He settled on a shrug for a starting point, "What is there to tell?" he said to her, "I rock-climb, I cave, the planet I live," he stopped himself, "Lived on, was dangerous. It has been a hard life in that respect." It was the truth. At least, it was in part. He did not want to keep her from some of the more specific information, she was a Doctor, she needed to know these things. But he felt that he had to, more was at stake here than merely Seth's personal health. Or was he hiding from the truth? Once again, Seth had to accept that he did not know, and that he could not sort out his massive jumble of a life.
Seth knew the Doctor was not going to be content with the information he had given her, and she looked ready to push for more, but just at that moment both of their commbadges went off.
=/\= Captain Trek to all Senior Staff. Change in plans; report to the Briefing Room immediately =/\=
Seth found himself desperately trying to hide his relief at the XO's call. "It appears the rest will have to wait." He said quietly to the Doctor. As Trek had ordered them to report immediately, Seth and the Doctor ended up walking to the briefing room together. Seth hoped that she would not be asking anything en route.
<Tag Grey, if you want to>
They both arrived in the briefing room and sat down. Before the briefing, Seth had had no inkling as to what the mission was, so he listened intently...

Jon went to his quarters after a very tough training. He had been reviewing the scores from the session and had picked up the padd by his deck typing in some ideas. Soon he headed into th sonic shower changed into a fresh uniform and headed to his office. Jon looked around as he entered his office and went to the replicator just as the door chimes go off he answers "Come." Turning back and ordering a Coffee he turned to ask the person who arrived if he wanted something. Lieutenant Salfer was standing there "Come in. Can i get you anything." She looked at him and replied she didn't want anything. Jon moved behind his chair and motioned for her to do the same.
He picked up a Padd he was working on. "So Lt.Salfer what can i do for you?" Park looked at her over the padd and saw her looking at him. putting the Padd down he looked back as she said "Sir,i know u ordered me to report after the mission briefing, However i want to know how did i score and why did u want to see me?" Park was a little mad but she had a point just before he could reply Dan treks voice came over the com "Acting Captain Trek to all Senior Staff. Mission briefing in one hour. Trek out." Jon looked at Salfer and said "I was going to propose to Captain Nack about a third security team but since Nack is in sickbay i was going to give it to Captain Trek." Jon picked his next words carefully."I set up the simulation to see who would lead the third team and i have chosen you if i can get the team approved. I am also recommending a promotion for you if i can."
Lt.Salfer looked at him in shock then said "Thank you,Sir i will make you proud." Jon tapped his combadge ans said =/\= Park to Lt.Commander Thomas. Report to my office." Thomas arrived at his office soon after and asked "what can i do for you Jon." Jon looked at him and said " Please take Lt.Salfer and start training her in command." Thomas and Salfer left had Jon contuies to work on his proposal before the meeting he had worked on two Padds one for the security team and the other was to have Lt. Salfer promoted and make head of the third team.
Just as he finished over the ships com came dan's voice again . =/\= Captain Trek to all Senior Staff. Change in plans; report to the Briefing Room immediately =/\=. Jon got up and exited his office and headed to the briefing room as he entered he saw others already the plus an new person he saw in sickbay.
Jon sat next too the new officers and looked at Dan as he started and introduced the new officer a Commander from Starfleet Intelligence and a Medical Investigator. Park knew his idea for a third security team was going to go over a little better now.

=/\= Commander Trek, status of the briefing? =/\= the voice of the Captain came over the intercom, sounding somewhat stronger than it had previously. As Dan Trek promised the Captain that it would begin shortly and closed the channel, Lisa knew that the preview would need to be cut short. The doctor didn’t exactly mind much, as she would only be repeating the information again in the briefing.
Grabbing the padds of information and following the first officer out of her quarters, Waterson found herself grateful to have an escort, as it precluded the need for knowing where she was going. After arriving and waiting for everyone else to show up, Lisa reviewed the material one more time. She knew it like the back of her hand, but it was always best to be as prepared as possible. As soon as everyone arrived and took their seats, Commander Trek began the briefing.
"Our next assignment is of a different sort than we've had recently. I'll let our guest explain it, as she can do a better job than I. Everyone, this is Dr. Lisa Waterson. She's a Medical Investigator with Starfleet Intelligence, and has been assigned to us as a mission specialist. The floor is yours, Doctor." the first officer said in introduction, gesturing towards Lisa to go ahead and start.
Standing and sending a brief smile of recognition towards Doctor Grey, Lisa nodded to everyone before beginning and getting right to the point. “The Nevada has been assigned to assist me in tracking down a group of…” Commander Waterson jumped, gasping in surprise as Captain Nack’s face suddenly appeared, extremely close up, on the monitor in the back. Her reaction caused the attention of the rest of the group to turn back to the screen, and the seemingly embarrassed Ferengi displayed there, who mumbled an apology, motioning for her to continue.
Trying to pull herself back together, as the Captain’s rather sudden appearance had startled her, Lisa cleared her throat before continuing. “As I was saying…the Nevada has been assigned to assist me in tracking down a group of black market dealers and smugglers, who are led, we believe, by a single director dubbed “The Internal Thief” by Starfleet Intelligence. This group seems to have created a large underground ring dealing mainly with stolen medical supplies, including organs and tissues, some of which end up sold back into regular circulation once more.”
“Although the recent interest in this case that resulted in the Nevada’s assignment was caused by the increased tension with the Romulans over one of their medical facilities and three of their transport and cargo vessels, this group has been hitting mostly Federation targets, and these thefts have been going on for the past twenty months. In total, ten medical facilities have been robbed within those twenty months, four in the last four months alone, and eight ships have been raided all in the last four months, marking a clear pattern of escalation and expansion.”
Moving to the display behind her, Commander Waterson pulled up a map highlighting the locations of all thefts as well as a list of dates in order. “As you can see, the acceleration has been gradual, but in the past four months we’ve seen a considerable increase, both in the number of robbed facilities, including the addition of a Romulan target, and with the addition of the raids on passing ships. The most disturbing shift has been the in the use of violence, as the crews of the vessels attacked were murdered and their own organs and tissues stolen as well.”
“The reason I was selected to head this investigation is my involvement in this case since over a year ago. I was head of transplant research and procedures at Roalan IV, which was the third target. In seeing the previous thefts and growing concerned about the safety of my own facility and its resources, I successfully increased security there, which diminished the success of the theft at Roalan. Since that time, I have been highly sought after as a security consultant for other facilities and became heavily involved in this case. Starfleet Intelligence saw fit to utilize my expertise once the situation with the Romulans became more critical.”
“Part of what attracted the attention of Starfleet Intelligence was also my ability to predict targets. I have successfully predicted three of the four seven targets. The one I was unable to predict was the Romulan target, as I had not taken their facilities into consideration. Now that I have, I believe I know what the next likely target is.” The screen shifted to show a large Class K planet on the display before zooming in on a large, domed city near the equator surrounded by wasteland.
“This is Yavin III, a Romulan colony near the edge of Federation space. Their medical facility would make an excellent target, and I believe this is where the Internal Thief will strike next. In the interest of diplomatic relations, we are to assist the facility with its security. It is unlikely an attack would be made with our presence, but I also believe this would be a perfect opportunity to attempt to set a trap. Once the director is caught, I believe the ring will collapse rather quickly.”
Passing out the padds to the officers present, Lisa continued. “These padds contain all the information on the previous hits, including location, method, what was stolen, and in some cases where the stolen items eventually ended up. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. I have been working on this case for a while now and have put a considerable amount of time and effort into it as a result. I am…grateful and hopeful to have so many of you to help me now and the resources of the Nevada at my disposal. So…thank you.”
Doctor Waterson quickly took a seat, feeling like she’d rambled on a bit too much, and nodded at Commander Trek to let him know she was through. This case was very…personal to her, so she could have easily gone on for hours about many of the specific details. Lisa just hoped that she had managed to communicate all the relevant information without overloading everyone.

|Briefing room
Helacaan and Grey entered the briefing room and sat down. Cmdr. Dantrek opened things up and introduced Cmdr. Waterson.
Soooo.... that's what she's doing here. I'd thought at first that she had a thing for the captain. Maybe not, Lucy thought.
Waterson hadn’t even gotten started when she gasped, staring toward the rear of the briefing room. Her reaction caused the attention of the rest of the group to turn back to the screen, and the seemingly embarrassed Ferengi displayed there, who mumbled an apology, motioning for her to continue.
Lucy tried to hide the grin beginning to spread across her face. Maybe I was right.
Without missing a beat, Lisa Waterson continued her spiel. When she had finished, Lucy looked down at the notes she'd made on her padd, her eyes passing between the padd Waterson had given them and her notes.
Lucy decided to address the doctor with her correct title. In this case, it was much more fitting than commander, anyway.
"Dr. Waterson, couldn't the "director" behind all this medical thievery be a Romulan? I mean, their facilities are the least hit of all of them. Federation mostly and the Romulan's hate us. That’s not a change. I don't have a love or hate for them, myself, but it stands to reason that they couldn't leave their own race out of the... let's say equation, without it becoming suspicious. And, to guess your next remark, I think they will take the same amount of organs, supplies, tissues from their own kind as everybody else. Just to hold suspicion off." Lucy smiled, adding, “You’ve already investigated that, haven’t you?”
Lucy looked around at Park, then nodded at Bit-Cloud and Helacaan to maybe help with her hypothesis. Finally, her gaze rested on Cmdr. Trek then back to Dr. Waterson. She raised her eyebrows in question.

Apparently his communique had kicked events into gear, as Doctor Grey and Ensign Helacaan both left sick bay on the announcement of the briefing.
...Leaving Nack alone... in sickbay... bored out of his mind.
He fiddled with some of the sensors on the bed, trying to get the indicators to stop blinking. They wouldn't. There was a high-pitched ring to the scanning device that kept his heart monitored as well. He was probably the only one that could hear it, though, due to his extra keen sense of hearing.
Growing increasingly impatient, he decided it wouldn't be in bad form if he were to attend the briefing. He convinced himself he wouldn't even have to leave sickbay for it.
He positioned a monitor in front of himself as he sat up in bed. Flipping it on, he saw the immediate image of Doctor Waterson, who, upon the sight of Captain Nack, jumped.
"Sorry!" Nack said, realizing his intrusion was bigger than he had hoped. Simply sneaking into the back of the room wasn't an option when the main screen was up front.
He passively listened to the rest of Waterson's briefing, confirming the facts that he had just read a day or two before.
Commander Waterson was finished, and Nack was raring to go. He was about to give the orders for Commander Peers to take them at warp-six to Yavin III, but Lucy asked a question first, which was followed by other questions from other officers. They were the standard questions that officers asked at briefings, to better appreciate what background material had brought Doctor Waterson and Starfleet to the premise of the mission.
While they talked among themselves, Nack grew increasingly agitated, still being in sickbay, and still not being able to be in complete control from sickbay. He looked down when in indicator started beeping. It was his blood pressure again, rising. The biobed gave him an automatic sedative, which caused Nack to begin to feel sleepy.
"I'm going to head out... everyone. Keep me apprised Number...," yawn, "One." the Captain said to Commander Trek as he turned the viewscreen off.

A slight smile crossed Lisa’s face, as the Nevada’s chief medical officer was certainly well informed and had been listening, well. “You are correct, Doctor Grey. That is a possibility we have considered, although there is no way to prove it for sure. There are hundreds of theories as to who or what the Internal Thief is, but all of it is merely speculation until we find this individual. Unfortunately, speculation has been little help thus far in securing their capture. Whether Romulan or not, this person has extensive knowledge of the medical field, knowing exactly what to take, how to take it, and what to do with it. That is the only thing that is absolutely undeniable. Other than that...we can only make educated guesses.”
Very pleased at the attention to detail and level of interest the crew was showing, Lisa’s attention was drawn back to the screen bearing Captain Nack’s likeness, as the telltale beeping of the biobed indicated a change in vitals of some kind. The Ferengi began to grow weary almost before their eyes, but managed to say, "I'm going to head out... everyone. Keep me apprised Number...," yawn, "One." before the screen went dark as the Captain hopefully moved to get some rest.
Raising an eyebrow at Doctor Grey, sharing a look that communicated what only two doctors who were familiar with dealing stubborn patients could understand, Commander Waterson glanced around the table at the other officers present. “Does anyone else have any questions or comments?”

Seth sat passively listening to the briefing. The Doctor asked about the possibility of this, "Internal Thief" being a Romulan/s. Her point had been a valid one, and was something Seth hadn't considered. On the other hand, he did not know a great deal about Romulans, other than that they were secretive, and had had wars with most of the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Dr. Grey looked around to see if anyone was willing to support her, and Seth did his best effort of shrugging without looking uncaring. It was his lack of knowledge of the Romulans and their possible motive that was limiting here.
Commander Waterson, who had conducted the briefing, explained how she had considered that possibility and asked, "Does anyone else have any questions or comments?"
Seth did have a question, and after no one had spoke for a while he brought it up, "Commander Waterson?" Seth signalled for her attention, "The way that you have presented it, makes these strikes which the "Internal Thief" conducts seem like carefully and meticulously planned operations. Tell me, do you believe that they are planning and executing these strikes with intentional surgical precision. Or, do you think they are just going after whatever they can, in a loosely organised fashion? I ask because if we knew which one it may serve to inform us what and who these people are."

Seth surprised himself with his question, he could be astute when he needed to be.

Commander waterson asked the question "Does anyone else have any questions or comments?" but Jon was thinking about security issues he missed it and one of the new officer asked a quick question. Jon focused on his question as well and listened as the Commander gave her answer after she was finished Jon Asked his question.
"What kind of security issues do u think we will be dealing will. Will it just be a few Romulans or a mix of races?" Park knew he had not read all of the Padd but it could not have been put in the report or added in wrong.
<Tag Waterson>
Jon looks at the two Padds he has with him as another officer asks a question and Jon half listens but hears all that is said. Park sees he has made all the notes he needs on commander Waterson's Padd and checked his own for errors and finds none. ~Now just to wait till the briefing is over to ask the Commander.~ Park was thinking

After all questions were asked and answered, Dan finally spoke up for the first time since starting off the Briefing.
"Time is of the essence on this one, people," Dan said, stating the obvious. "As our good Captain is incapacitated at present, I'll be taking command of this mission until further notice." Dan looked briefly at the now dark display where the Captain's labored expression had appeared so suddenly, but now was gone.
"Commander Peers, as soon we're out of spacedock, set course for Yavin III, Warp six," he ordered. "Dismissed."
Immediately everyone filled out to report to their stations. A minute later, Dan proceeded onto the Bridge. He reluctantly took the Captain's chair, which he had had augmented with a large cushion, so that he could sit above the arms of the chair, rather than squeeze his hips between the narrow gap.
"Mister Helacaan, clear our departure with the Starbase."
<Helacaan>
"Course laid in, sir," Peers reported from the Helm.
"Take us out, Mr. Peers."

Nack woke up from his nap, still feeling quite woosey from the sedatives that had automatically administered themselves into his blood stream.
"Wake-ee wake-ee," nurse Devon said, letting out a small chuckle. You had some interesting dreams while you were asleep, didn't you?
Nack was groggy, but was well enough to put together what the Haliian trauma specialist was implying.
"How.. how did you know?" Nack could only remember bits and pieces of his dream. Nurse Devon was about to make them more clear.
"See Nurse Ranquist over there?" he said. Janelle had heard the comment from her peer, but made every attempt to not make eye contact. The thoroughly embarrassing events that had occurred in the past couple of hours was not something she wished be brought up. Devon, however, insisted on continuing.
"You had gotten out of bed, and out of the blue, ran to her and kissed her, calling her Doctor Lucy."
Nack looked angrily at the Halian. "I did no such thing."
He held a mirror up. "Then how did you get the lipstick on you?"
"You ... probably..." the damned stuff wouldn't come off, he scrubbed as he talked, "put it...there."
Ranquist had moved to the other side of the sickbay as Devon continued. "You proposed to her at one point! Honest! You called her 'Lucy Grey'. Ranquist and I had to forcefully put you back into your bed. Why do you think you are restrained?"
Nack felt embarrassed- why would this nurse lie to him? He never had a thing for Lucy Grey, but admittedly, he HAD had a dream of the Doctor falling in love with him, or the other way around.. he couldn't remember. Either way, it was entirely plausible that he did this in a sleep walk.
"Whom I fraternize with is none of your concern."- Nack said- but the statement made him appear guilty.
"AND I don't have a thing for Doctor Grey. And I would appreciate it if you would stop spreading such rumors." The tone turned from jovial to angry.
"And finally... I would ask that you not speak a word of this to Doctor Grey," who happened to be at the briefing still. "Think of it as patient confidentiality!"
His anger peaked the blood pressure meter once again and the alarm sounded. Again, a hypospray automatically injected itself.
"Damnit, not again." Nack said, feeling instantly tired. "Not a word, Devon... not a w*yawn*ord.."

"Commander Waterson? The way that you have presented it, makes these strikes which the "Internal Thief" conducts seem like carefully and meticulously planned operations. Tell me, do you believe that they are planning and executing these strikes with intentional surgical precision. Or, do you think they are just going after whatever they can, in a loosely organized fashion? I ask because if we knew which one it may serve to inform us what and who these people are."
The question caused the investigators eyes to light up for a moment. That was one of the most interesting aspects of the case for her. “That was a very perceptive observation, Ensign. The “Internal Thief” is generally regarded as a genius level mastermind with this type of operation. Each of these facility break-ins was exact: no violence, no mess, and everything taken with purpose. The first was the only one where the facility wasn’t entirely cleaned out of any useful items. Since then, each attack has been executed perfectly, except where hindered by additional security measures, but even then, the method of operation did not change.”
“The only exception to this is the addition of the attacks on ships. We believe the “Internal Thief” is not directly involved with those raids. Clearly, the director does play some part, coordinating or providing information perhaps, but the ships and the facilities have entirely different MOs. The raids on the ships are…messy, violent, and apparently haphazard. They just take whatever they can get their hands on with no real intent or purpose it would seem. The Internal Thief is…far above that careless level.” Lisa finished her disdain with the raids perfectly clear.
"What kind of security issues do you think we will be dealing with? Will it just be a few Romulans or a mix of races?" the chief of security questioned.
“As far as I know right now, I’ll need your assistance in dealing with the security at the medical facility. I’ve had quite a bit of experience there, but your help and manpower will be a great asset. Also, if it is determined to try and set a trap, I will need your support there as well. As for the races….your guess is as good as mine. The Internal Thief could be just about anyone, and then once you get into the crime ring that seems to have been created that still doesn’t change. Although with a crime ring, there are the usual suspects involved in the black market...” Lisa answered, trailing off before the list of races, since Ferengi would be at the top.
After all the questions had been asked and then answered, the acting Captain stepped in. "Time is of the essence on this one, people. As our good Captain is incapacitated at present, I'll be taking command of this mission until further notice. Commander Peers, as soon we're out of spacedock, set course for Yavin III, Warp six. "Dismissed." Commander Trek ordered, causing the occupants to begin to scatter and go their separate ways to attend to their duties.
With a sigh, Lisa picked up her now individual padd and walked onto the bridge. Standing in the back out of the way of the busy officers, the doctor glanced around at the crewmembers working at their consoles and moving about the bridge. The Commander had only served on a ship briefly, and it had been awhile since being aboard one. It was…comforting to watch everyone doing what needed to be done, knowing exactly what their respective job was supposed to be.
This was an experienced, capable crew. The level of proficiency displayed by the senior staff and the depth of comprehension in their questions during the briefing had made that perfectly clear. This would certainly be the best chance for the Thief to be captured…if it didn’t happen during this mission, it most likely would never happen. Glancing around the bridge and watching the officers working, Lisa quietly stayed back just observing, waiting for the ship to leave the dock and move out into open space. For some reason, she was feeling a bit nostalgic and watching the ship go to warp from the bridge sounded like a perfect idea.

Each of these facility break-ins was exact: no violence, no mess, and everything taken with purpose..." Dr. Waterson went on to fully explain the methods that the group employed.
With all the questions asked and answered, Trek dismissed the staff from the room, and they got ready for what appeared to be immediate departure. Everyone stepped out on to the bridge of the Nevada, and Seth took his station just as Trek entered the command arena and looked towards the forward viewport.
"Mister Helacaan, clear our departure with the Starbase," said the Acting Captain.
"Yes, sir." Seth opened a channel to the starbase from his console, "Docking Control, this is the USS Nevada, requesting permission to depart," he said over the comm channel to Assailant.
"Copy that Nevada,"came the voice over the comm, "You are free to head out."
The Akira class Starship glided its way out of the docking arena of Starbase Assailant, making its way into the black void, and clear of the station. Moments later they were at warp. Seth stared almost mesmerised at the forward viewscreen, small specks of light flitted by as the Nevada barrelled headfirst through warped-space. Seth was going back out to the frontier, the edge of Federation space. He wasn't going home, they were going far in the wrong direction, but back out to the frontier he was going.
Seth's attention was drawn to Dr. Waterson standing at the back of the bridge. She had the same mesmerised expression that he had had a moment ago. He smiled at her very slightly, still not feeling comfortable among the people he was serving with, "A while since you have seen warp speed, sir?" he asked her.
<tag>
He himself had been taken aback by the wonders of warp speed, when he had seen it for the first time three months prior. He shook his head to himself, it had only been that long ago. Of course, he hadn't seen it when he should've, four years previously, when he had made his way into the Federation's centre. Instead he had been couped up on an old, near windowless freighter, such had been the standard of the available transportation. And such currently was the standard of the available transportation, Seth reminded himself.
Duty! Seth needed to start concentrating on it. He turned his head's attention back to his console and started running some scans of the surrounding regions. He also made a few notes in his head of things to follow up later, with regard to the ship's running.
With reluctance, Seth dragged his thoughts away from his much convoluted troubles and, tried, to focus on the upcoming mission. The reluctance he was experiencing was strange, as in, why was he feeling it at all? The continuous thoughts of home and all that he needed to do with that situation, would just not go away. He was aware that serving on this ship was necessary, it was inextricable from what he had initially set out to the Federation to do. Why could he not fully concentrate on the job at hand? Why the infinite uncertainty? His was a mind under siege.

T'Brel was saddened to see that seventeen joined Trills had been murdered during these raids. Of those seventeen Peers had known six of them. Careful not to let his emotions overtake him, T'Brel continued to listen to the debriefing. He would need to stay focused on his duties or the same could happen to the Nevada.
With all the relevant information in hand, T'Brel left the briefing room and headed towards his quarters. He knew that they would not be leaving for another ten to fifteen minutes and it would allow him some time to mourn for his fallen friends. As the lifts doors closed around, T'Brel allowed himself to shed a tear.
Eleven minutes later
"Commander Peers to Assailant, are we cleared for departure?" T'Brel asked from his station.
"Nevada, you are cleared to depart, Godspeed and good luck," the dock master replied.
"Thank you, Assailant, Nevada out," T'Brel answered back slightly pondering on humans tendency to believe in luck," laying in a course for Yavin III at Warp 6."
"Take us out, Mr. Peers."
"Aye sir," T'Brel replied as he maneuvered the Nevada away from the starbase. As soon as he was clear he engaged the warp engines," at present speed we should arrive at Yavin in thirty five hours and twenty minutes."

"At present speed we should arrive at Yavin in thirty five hours and twenty minutes," Peers reported from the Helm
"Thank you, Mr. Peers," Dan responded.
An hour or so later, it was fairly quiet now on the Bridge. Ship underway, Dan could no longer neglect his highest duty; that to his Captain.
"Mr. Peers, you have the Bridge," Dan said to helmsman, the ranking officer on the Bridge after himself. "I'll be in Sickbay."
He walked slowly down the corridor on Deck 4 between the turbolift and Sickbay. He didn't relish the thought of seeing his Captain incapacitated. He had seen that, for one reason or another, many times before, and he never liked the experience of such strong, capable men weak and lying on a bed.
Standing outside the door to sickbay, he mentally steeled himself. If his emotions got away from him, they could easily be projected onto the Captain, and Nack didn't need the depressing emotions imposing upon his psyche.
None of the medical staff stopped him or questioned him as he proceeded over to the Captain's bed. They knew why he was there. Nack's eyes were half-closed when he stepped to the bedside.
"Captain?" he asked, cautiously. When the eyes opened a little farther. "How are you feeling, sir?"

Park headed out with all the officers with out being able to talk to Commander Trek and was going to ask to speck in a private meeting when he told the bridge he was going to sickbay to see the captain. Jon turned to the Helm officer and said "I have a meeting with Captain Marks of the marine corp . I will be in my Office should i be needed." Jon Headed to the turbolift and entered. "Brig." Park ordered and the lift descended.
As he headed to his Office Jon Tapped his combadge =/\= Park to Captain Marks. Report to my office. Park Out=/\= Park exited the turbolift and ran head long into Captain Marks. "Wow Captain that was fast." Captain Marks replied "It sounded like you wanted me asap." As they entered his office and he sat down and Jon told her "Captain i have called you here to see if you understand what role you will play onboard the Nevada. Marks looks at him and says "Sir. I command the marines aboard this ship." before she can continue Park interrupts "No. Captain until the Captain Nack says otherwise i command the marines onboard and to that end Lt. Jones is in command."
Captain Amy Marks was shocked her orders were to be in charged of the marines not the security chief not knowing the deal she asked. "Commander what is going on my orders were take command of the marines aboard the ship." Jon moved to around the desk with a Padd in hand with what happened to the Marine Commander as she read the Padd she understood what was happening and nodded to Jon. "Understood sir, I will follow Lt.Jones and Your orders."
Jon understood what she said and dismissed her after she left he headed back to the computer and turned it on reading a commuica from starfleet Command he saw that the holodeck on Starbase Conqueror had malfunctioned and some crew got hurt. He was concerned he hadn't heard from his friend Jake Marcus since he arrived and started training.
An hour later he tapped his combadge =/\= Park to Commander Trek. Sir May i speck to you in private sir. Where would u like to meet?"

The door to Seth's quarters swished open and he stepped through, "Lights." The computer acknowledged and raised the light level, but it was only when he got up from his fifteen minute nap that Seth realised he had messages. The console in the wall was slowly, periodically, flashing red. He got up from the bed, sat down heavily in the chair by the console, and touched the button to bring up the messages.
The first message was confirming his promotion to full ensign, that he already knew. The second was more of a surprise, it confirmed his promotion to Junior Lieutenant. Seth raised his eyebrows and scanned through the message. It meant nothing to him, that's what he told himself to think in any case. Maybe somewhere, buried inside himself was a part of him that rejoiced in the promotion. He was pleased, in a modest superficial way, but the addition of a single hollow pip to his uniform collar was a token change.
He carressed the buttons on the console, going back to the Received Messages display. There was nothing else there, which he knew. He pressed the button again, viewing a message, then went back to the Received Messages once again. Still nothing there but the two messages. He frowned. Why though? What was he looking for? He thought he knew the answer, but he couldn't be sure. Nothing, no messages would ever come from that quarter, quite obviously... he chided himself on his ridiculousness.
Seth left the chair and clambered into the bed, he would be back on duty in several hours time, but he wanted to rest. As he lay in the bed, he listened to the ever present hum of the Nevada. The noise was damped as much as possible for crew quarters, but it was still there. He thought of the things that he ought to do before he was next on duty, all department related... and he would have to contact Dr. Grey.. about finishing the physical, he would have to reserve time for that....
As quick as that, Seth Helacaan had drifted off to sleep.

He awoke again, this time Doctor Grey was in the room. Nack quickly checked his reflection in the shininess of the monitor next to him, and did not see any lipstick on his face. He was still restrained.
"I think I'm ready to leave." he said to Commander Trek. "I'm feeling fine here, just an occasional blood pressure spike."
Commander Trek queried why he was restrained. Lucy didn't know why, as the nurses had done it while he was asleep so he wouldn't sleep walk again. Nobody, apparently, had told Doctor Grey of the incident.
"I'd rather not discuss it, it was a necessary precaution against my sleepwalking." That was the only explanation he was going to give, but the redness in the Ferengi's face left everyone to believe there was something more that he wasn't telling. He probably wouldn't, unless Nurse Ranquist's reports made it to Lucy.
He turned to Doctor Grey, double teaming her with Commander Trek. "I'll wear a heart monitor if you wish, but I'm going to get going. Commander Waterson will need my help on the more classified portions of our trip."
Commander Waterson; He forgot completely about the briefing. "Did anyone have any questions or comments?" he asked to the two officers. He had been sedated toward the ending, and missed some of it.
"Well, I'd much prefer to be on my bridge, so if you can excuse me." he deactivated the bed. "If you'll need me, you know where I'll be."
And with that, Nack and Dan Trek left for the bridge.

Watching the stars begin to streak by, Lisa felt…strangely free, almost like she herself were flying among the stars and not the ship. She was started out of her almost meditative state by one of the officers in the briefing asking her a question. "A while since you have seen warp speed, sir?"
Jumping slightly at the voice that was so unexpectedly close to her, the doctor felt a slight blush creep up into her face at getting caught daydreaming on the bridge like that. “Uh…yes, actually it has been, Ensign. And there’s no need to call me Sir. Ma’am, Commander, or preferably Doctor will be fine.” Lisa answered, and still feeling a bit sheepish quickly added. “I should actually be getting back to work. Umm….carry on.” she finished lamely before quickly moving to the lift.
Starship interaction felt entirely unfamiliar to her, and being called ‘Sir’ had thrown her quite a bit. Hurriedly requested Deck 3, Lisa leaned up against the wall and sighed deeply. Things had gotten so complicated now…had it really only been around a year and a half ago when she had been living her dream, a highly sought after transplant surgeon and administrator whose entire focus had been on helping people? Then these thefts and everything that had followed them and her life had been thrown completely upside down. Would she ever be able to return to the way things were now that she was seen as an investigator and security expert? The doors opened and shaking these thoughts from her head, Doctor Waterson made her way down the corridor towards her temporary residence.
An hour or so later and Lisa was feeling much better and far less melancholy. So her life was more complicated now...it was also more exciting, and being recruited as an investigator wasn’t such a bad thing. Sipping on some more tea, Commander Waterson perused the padd before her, detailing the inventory and resources of the Yavin III medical facility. It was indeed the perfect next target, given the vast array of valuable items stored there. It would be interesting to see, given the Nevada’s assistance in shoring up security, if the additional measures would be enough to stop the break in from occurring or catch the perpetrator in action. Nothing had even come remotely close before, but only time would tell…

He headed to the Turbolift and entered "Bridge" Jon commanded and headed up to the bridge. Jon entered the Bridge and saw Captain Nack sitting in the command Chair. "Captain Nice to have u back." Park said and turned to Commander Trek "Sir, i would like to speck to u about a personnel change."

"Status of my ship?" Nack asked as they headed to the Bridge.
"We're en route to Yavin III, sir, at Warp 6. All systems are fully operational," Dan reported, crisply.
"Status of its First Officer?" Nack asked, looking up at Dan with a twinkle in his eye.
"Glad to have you back up and around again, sir," Dan said with a smile.
As they entered the Bridge, Peers happily said, "Captain on the Bridge." Everyone present stood at attention.
Nack motioned for them to return to duty. Nack proceeded to his chair. "Commander?" he asked the FO, looking at his chair with the extra cushion.
"Sorry sir. That was...for me..." Dan said, picking up the cushion off the Captain's chair and tossing it over to the engineer at the engineering station. "Stow that somewhere."
Both Captain and First Officer took their stations, just in time for Commander Park to enter the Bridge. "Captain Nice to have u back." Park said and turned to Commander Trek "Sir, i would like to speck to u about a personnel change."
"Yes, yes, certainly, Commander. I apologize for not responding to you earlier. Captain, may I borrow your Ready Room for a few minutes?" Dan asked.
Nack looked over and nodded. Trek and the CTSO proceeded into the privacy of the Captain's office.
"So what's this personnel change, Commander?"

Seth walked into the turbolift and ordered, "Bridge."
His sleep had been productive, there were the echoes; the shades of a nearly-forgotten dream meandering around the inside of his head. He'd had a lot of them recently, none, not one of them he could remember. Stepping out onto the bridge to begin his next duty shift he immediately noted that Captain Nack was back. Park looked happily towards the Captain, and as Seth moved silently towards his station the CTSO greeted the returned Nack.
So early out of sickbay, thought Seth. But then, what did he know about Ferengi physiology, perhaps they recovered faster from such incidents, especially for someone as relatively young as Captain Nack. Back on Ascension, the medicine had not been top-standard in the Federation, not by any means... but Seth had never once heard of heart problems in people so young. He was fairly sure cardiac-arrest was virtually wiped out in young people, what with all the advanced fitness programs and other such modifiers that the Federation seemed to be turning to.
Seth checked the chronometer on his console, thirty-three hours to destination... really? He had only been asleep for two hours, what had he been doing in the mean time? He thought no more of it, for the time being.
After a while, Seth thought it was high time that he got acquainted with some of the Ops personnel onboard. Now that he was fully cemented into the fleet, in short order as had been the plan, he supposed that it was expected of him to build up a limited rapport with departmental staff. It did appeal to him in a way, and in other ways he found it difficult to entertain, and to accept. Nevertheless, delegating the Ops position to a junior Ops crewman, Seth gained permission to leave the bridge and promptly stepped into the turbolift. "Operation Chief's office," he requested after a pause, he made a mental note to learn the ship deck by deck as the lift got underway.

"Thats ok sir, I am sure you would have answered ." Park said as they entered the captains ready room. "Well sir I would like to put together a third security team." As he handed Commander Trek one of the two Padds. "If you approve I would like Lt. Salfer to lead them. Too that end i have written a request to have her promoted to Lt.Commander." Handing the commander the second Padd.

Park waited for an answer and stood at attention. Park already had a few ideas who would have to come aboard to make the team complete yet he knew any one who he got abroad would be true to there field and experts in them as well.
Park knew after this he would have to get the new team into training but knew what program he would use. Since a kid the holodeck was a tool he used to train his computer skills as well as his combat training too. Just then he saw Commander Trek was ready to address him.

|Sickbay - CMO's office Dr. Grey smiled as she read Nurse Ranquist's report. So Captain Nack had no memory of the marriage proposal. Well, well. That meant that those IOUs he carried could be hers for a song. Or a kiss. The computer beeped as an incoming message landed in her private inbox. Absently, Lucy reached over and opened the envelope as it marched across her monitor. TO: Dr. Lucille Grey, CMO, USS Nevade-B FROM: 53kj2oo9dy7bb
MESSAGE: For Sale - 1 Ferengi heart
Contact Cael at wednesmar == 452j3j333
Understand your captian had an attack. if your intested, i'll be waiting. END MESSAGE [/size] Lucy sat up straight in her chair. From half asleep, she was now wide awake. "Nurse, where is Captain Nack?" "He was released to the bridge, doctor. Is there anything wrong?" Lucy debated for a moment whether to mention the message then decided not to. She shut down her monitor, stood and made sure her computer was secure before saying, "I'll be on the bridge if I'm needed." |Bridge Lucy stepped out of the turbo lift looking around for Dr. Waterson. Seeing Captain Nack in his command chair, she walked quickly to him, sitting down in the XO's seat and leaned over to whisper in his ear. "Where's Cmdr. Trek?" she asked quietly. <Nack> "I need to talk with you and Dr. Waterson. Privately. Could you call her to the bridge?" <Nack>
