Carl and Scott entered the massive building ...
Moving to the reception, he was met by a young woman in civilian clothing.
"Can I help you Commander." she said, speaking to Torek.
"We're here to meet Admiral Mc7_of_9." he replied, hoping Mc would be logged in to the system. The girl checked her screen, then smiled.
"The Admiral in on the fortieth floor, he's waiting to see the President ... Take the elevator, that way." she said, motioning to the far wall. Entering, Scott pressed the button for the required floor. Seconds later the doors opened on a wide reception area. Flags from every member planet hung from the walls, and the room itself was a myriad of species ..
Moving forward, expecting to see Mc, Captain Worthing, and Commander Kirk, he was surprised when they were approached by two Security Officers ..
"Gentlemen." the taller man said, resting his hand casually on the phaser at his waste, "I'm afraid I need you both to follow me."
"Oh ?" Torek said, weighing up the chances of reaching the weapon if need be, "Where are we expected to 'follow' you Lieutenant !"
The other Officer had moved round to cover Commander McLean.
"There's a door to your right Sir." the first man continued, "Head that way. Admiral Kimmel is waiting to see you ... Please don't give me any reason to 'persuade' you Commander, this is after-all the Presidents Offices." he said, raising his eyebrows as if it wasn't open for debate. Carl looked at Scott, then headed toward the door.
"You first ... Sir." the Lieutenant said, motioning with his free hand, so Torek opened the door and walked in, followed by Scott.
Seconds later there was a thud, and Carl turned to see the Lieutenant sprawled on the floor, the second Officer against the wall, a phaser pushed up under his chin.
"Commander Denton Sir .. USS Wolf." the man holding the phaser said by way of explanation, "Captain Worthing thought you might want to be met when you arrived, if you will excuse me Sir." he said, a broad grin forming, as he smacked the second Security Officer so quickly that Torek almost didn't see the move, but the man slumped silently down the wall, out cold.
After securing both men, ensuring they wouldn't be found or heard for the time being, Denton stood.
"Captains compliments .. She and the Admiral are waiting for you across the hall. This way." he finished, reopening the door ..........

Satisfied that sickbay was in order, Jim put the coffee mug into the reclaimer, and headed out to ten foreward for some downtime. Perren would call him if anything happened. So far, the Klingon runnabout pilot had been his nly patient, not counting the screening the entire crew received at the instruments of his two holograms. Later he'd attend some more refresher traoining with his zimmerman "tutor" emh program, but for now he felt the need to meet more of the crew. No more waiting for a case of the sniffles to bring them to him.
The doors to ten foreward swished open, and he walked inside. There at the center table, sat a deck of cards, and no one in the chairs. He sat down and ordered a tall tala juice, and dealt out a game of solitaire, inwardly hoping to be interrupted.

Daniel was happy enough just to collapse into his bed at this point, but he had at least another hours worth of paper work to go though. Daniel was annoyed that Carl had not taken him on the away mission, he was so going to get shot for this. Daniel heard the door of his office open and close, looking up Daniel almost thought he was dreaming, or more importantly having a nightmare. ”So did you miss me?” Daniel looked at the one man in this universe that could make him both angry and happy at the same time. “Evan Lohrne, when and how did you get here?” Daniel had no idea how Evan could have got from the Olympia to here without Daniel hearing about it. ”Oh your nice brother-in-law gave me a helpful hint at where you are, he always did like me” Daniel did not know what made him feel worse, that the guy he both loved and hated had found him, or that his sister’s husband had been the one who told him where to look. “right you will get out of my office, and no that does not mean just go to my quarters and hoe to start this all over again, you know full well how you tend to cause me a headache” Daniel felt slightly weak at this point and collapsed before Evan could reply.
-From Evan’s point of view-
As Daniel fell to the floor Evan quickly ran up to his lovers side, “Daniel, Dan can you hear me?” when Evan did not get a reply he checked Daniel’s neck, ‘well he has a pulse’ “Dan, please do not die on me, i love you too much to let you go, and i want to tell you something” hitting Daniel’s comm. badge Evan hoped whoever was CMO for this ship was good =/\=Sickbay, this is Lieutenant Evan Lohrne, Commander Biers has collapsed and his pulse is very weak, get a medical team up here fast=/\=

Jim sat at his table in Ten foreward, playing solitaire. His grandmother once told him that if he was ever lost, or just needed someone to talk to, he should play solitaire. Then, without fail, someone would come along, and tell him to play the black ten on the red jack. It always seemed to work out that way, oddly enough.
This time, what happened was unexpected. His commbadge activated. He'd had the calls routed to his commbadge in case something happened with that security team that went palnetside with the frist officer. =/\= Sickbay, this is Lieutenant Evan Lohrne, Commander Biers has collapsed and his pulse is very weak, get a medical team up here fast =/\=
=/\=Acknowledged, Lt Lohrne. Help is en route.=/\= he closed off the commsignal, then reactivated it to call sickbay. =/\=Doctor MacGregor to sickbay, Petty officer Perren, have a response team meet me in Councellor Biers' office. Bring my medkit...=/\=
=/\=Aye doctor, we're on our way.=/\= Came the reply.
Daniel beirs's office was just two decks down, on deck 12. which was convenienly the same as sickbay, only aft, in what would in times of separation, be part of the stardrive section. Jim arrived only a few moments after the medical team. They had scanned him for injuries, then moved him from the uncomfortable crumpled position, to a straiter prone position.
Jim scanned Biers with his tricorder, more detailed than the triage scan the response team had done. Jim suddenly bolted back to a standing position. "Nurse Dumar, administer 50cc's of Balthazine, and get this man to sickbay at once. He's been poisoned." He turned to Lt. Lohrne. "I have no way of determining if this is an accident, or deliberate, but I'll have to notify security. Standard procedure, you understand."
Nurse Dumar re-entered the office with a mobil stretcher she had gotten from behind a panel at the nearest aid station. after extending it to length and width, they placed the inert body of Cmdr Biers onto it, and left the office.
Jim remained behind to talk to Evan. He'd pursue the idea of it being an accident, and let Security prove otherwise. "You can make this treatment easier if you can possibly tell me what substance he's been in contact with," He said, more in the form of a question, and not as an accusation.

“We're going to see the President.” Admiral Mc 7 said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
In near unison both former Borg drones took steps toward the office of the President of the United Federation of Planets. A move that Kirk never thought in his wildest dreams that would be doing. He always obeyed orders, stood by his commanding officers and did whatever he could to prove to the world that he was no longer the lifeless gray faced drone that people saw in the implants that so prominently stood out above his left eye.
“You can’t just go in there!” Yelled the secretary of the President as she raced up to try and stop the two Starfleet officers.
“Watch us.” Kirk said looking forward and not breaking stride as the secretary continued to try and physically stop the two men.
“There it is.” Mc 7 said as the door to the officer was just down the hallway.
“The President is in the middle of a very important meeting right now and he can’t be disturbed.”
“I’m sure she’ll see us,” Mc 7 said, “Commander?”
“Aye sir.” Kirk replied. He knew what the Admiral was asking and without skipping a beat he extended his arm and with as little effort as possible he pushed the frantic secretary aside who stumbled for a moment before falling onto her butt. This was the pile up as several officer aids stopped to make sure she was not hurt.
The door to the President’s officer opened and one single word came out of the Admiral’s mouth, “You.”
“Hello Admiral Mc 7 of 9, we were expecting you.” Replied a young female engineering officer.

Samantha eyes shot over to the door as it opened abruptly and before her stood her Commanding Officer, Admiral Mc 7 of 9 and another Borg drone, Commander Jonathan Kirk.
“You.” Mc 7 said.
“Hello Admiral Mc 7 of 9, we were expecting you.” Samantha said with such a smile on her face that it looked as if their sudden interruption has just proven her case.
“You see Madam President, this is the type of behavior that we can expect from these drones, irrational, impulsive, and disrespectful. They serve no purpose in Starfleet anymore and this proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. What if they were coming here to assimilate you? They got past your guards easily because of their ranks; they obviously overpowered your secretary and aids. If their intent was malicious there would be nobody to save you. Mr. President I rest my case, this new bill needs to be signed into law and a colony of freed Borg needs to be set up on the outskirts of the Federation where they could do no harm to mankind.”

"I have no idea... I just got here." Came the reply.
At that moment, a security team entered and began scanning. Standard protocol for this kind of case. Jim excused himself and went to the ward which commander biers was brought to, and began running tests. Soon he found the poison... an Orion variety. He also found a puncture wound on Daniels left buttcheek. He administered a quick antidote. He tapped his commbadge...
=/\=Doctor MacGregor to security... Have your team concentrate their search wherever councellor biers had been sitting. You're looking for a very small needle, small enough not to have been felt as it struck.=/\=
=/\=Aye... //a moment later// ...we have it doc, in the chair he has at his desk. Orion make, by the looks of it.=/\=
=/\=That supports my findings here.=/\= Unfortunately this did not solve anything. The security team would take it from here. Such a dart like this Orion one would be available to just about any would be assassin, and it was common enough not to have to contact the Orions to get it.
He turned back to Nurse Dumar. "I want you to call me the minute he awakes. Send a report of this to the chief of security's office to support his investigation, with copies to the skipper and XO."
"aye sir, standard protocol." With that, she turned back to her console, and Jim left for Ten foreward again, to pick up his solitaire game where he left off. his rumbly tummy told him it was lunch time as well.

As the group entered into the Presidents Office Mc7 was shocked to see one of his crew standing next to the Presidents desk, alongside Kimmel.
You?
Mc7 was only able to utter the one word as a wave of surprise washed over him. Before he could regroup his thoughts, Kimmel spoke.
You see Madam President, this is the type of behavior that we can expect from these drones, irrational, impulsive, and disrespectful. They serve no purpose in Starfleet anymore and this proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. What if they were coming here to assimilate you? They got past your guards easily because of their ranks; they obviously overpowered your secretary and aids. If their intent was malicious there would be nobody to save you. Mr. President I rest my case, this new bill needs to be signed into law and a colony of freed Borg needs to be set up on the outskirts of the Federation where they could do no harm to mankind.
Before the President could say a word, Mc7 stood to the side and allowed Esperanza to come to the fore of the group.
Actually Admiral, I think you'll find we were able to enter the Office of the President due to the fact we were accompanied by her Chief of Staff, and there was no overpowering or pulling of rank required, merely the appliance of some elementart logic. I don't expect you to understand that concept, but luckily for me, as well as every other member of the Federation that has been liberated from the collective, Esperanza wasn't swept up with fear and allowed us to present our side of the case.
Turning to face the older woman sitting behind the desk, Mc7 addressed her,
And with your permission Madam President, I would like to give you our side of the story
You talk a good game Mc7, I can see why you were such an assest to Intelligence, and why they were so sad to lose you.
Interupting, Kimmel spoke,
Madam President, for your own saftey I really must ask to have these people taken into custody!
Turning to face him as he spoke, Nan Bacco, the President of the United Federation of Planets unleased one of her customary barrages in Kimmel's direction,
YOU insist? Is Starfleet really producing Admirals with brains so small that they think they can insist that the President has cream in her coffee, never mind take a high ranking officer into custody simply on their word? Sit your [word deleted] down and shut up until I ask you to talk Robert
The Admirals' face flushed at the berating by the President, but he heeded her 'advice', taking a seat by the desk.
As for you, Amdiral, I don't want to hear your side of things, but rather I want to hear from someone who is more impartial to the entire situation. So Samantha, tell me, is Mc7 a threat to me, or the Federation?
All the heads in the room turned to Samantha Peterson, with surprise on their faces.
Three months ago, word of the Federation for a Borg Free Starfleet group reached the Presidents office. The President didn't have enough information to decide if there was indeed a threat to the Federation, either from former borg officers or from the group itself, so a team of officers were dispatched to observe those officers in Starfleet that were once borg drones. My assignment was to monitor you, Sir. Madam President, I can report that during my observations of the Admiral he has displayed no signs that he is a threat to the Federation, and has done nothing but try to clear his, as well as the other officers who used to be borg's names.
I have seen no evidance to the contrary, so unless you have any concrete evidance that you have yet to share with me Admiral Kimmel, I hereby drop all charges against you, and all other officers who are currently facing a baseless charge. Robert, I think given your years of service to the Federation, it may be time for you to enjoy your sunset years on a beach somewhere.
Phrasing her last sentance so there could be no misunderstadning that it wasn't a question but an order, Kimmel had no choice but to reply through gritted teeth,
Yes Mam.

Carl and Scott reached the President's office almost a full minute behind Admiral Mc7 .. The fact that four Security Officers decided to bar their entry, was of little consequence, because the massive oak doors were open, and they witnessed everything that happened .. The most important thing, as far as Torek was concerned, was the statement the President closed the whole sordid issue with. While she didn't publicly deride Admiral Kimmel, she made it perfectly clear that his suspicions were both unfounded and unwarranted ... "I have seen no evidence to the contrary, so unless you have any concrete evidence that you have yet to share with me Admiral Kimmel, I hereby drop all charges against you, and all other officers who are currently facing a baseless charge .. Robert, I think given your years of service to the Federation, it may be time for you to enjoy your sunset years on a beach somewhere." Everyone watched in silence, as Kimmel stood, looking round the room, before resting his eyes on his President, and uttering just two words .. "Aye .. Ma'am." He slowly took the rank insignia from his collar, then after looking at them, almost fondly, for a few seconds, he placed them on the President's ornate desk .. With a nod, he walked out of the room. "I believe you have a ship to attend to Admiral." the President said. "I do Madam President .. I do." Mc replied, leaving her office and heading for the nearest turbo-lift ... ~~~~~~~~~~
One hour later:Back on the Bridge of the Raven, Mc7 went straight to his ready room .. Carl checked the ships' readiness for departure .. Everyone was back aboard, with the notable exception of their Chief Operations Officer, Commander Ramius. He had 'chosen' to remain on Earth, stating personal reasons, requesting a leave of absence, he would hopefully return to the ship .... "Sir .." the Duty Opps Officer said, "We have a docking request from the Medical shuttle Piper .. She's been assigned to us." Carl frowned for a second, but then realized that a medical shuttle would be more than useful in some difficult situations .. "Permission granted." Carl said, "Put the aft view on screen, let's have a look at our new arrival." he said, sitting in the Captains' seat .. Commander .. There's a Priority message coming in from Star Fleet headquarters .. For the Admiral." Put it through to his ready room." Carl said, then realizing how tired he was, stood, "I'll be in my quarters if needed .. You have the Com Mister McLean." .......... -------------------- ooo000ooo -------------------- ~ MISSION CONCLUDED ~
Congratulations and Well Done to everyone, on an exciting mission. I look forward to our next outingPlease post mission mop up, wrapping up all of the smaller threads ... On the 'OOC Thread'
We will be participating in a joint mission along with USS Vesuvius and NX 03 Challenger To take place on Star Base Bellicose
.. I'm sure you will enjoy it .. Regards, on behalf of Admiral Mc7_of_9 and Myself
