He looked up at Commander Garrett and relaxed or forced himself too, he was feeling on edge in her presence and needed to deal with that. No matter his personal feelings she was the FO and deserving of respect and some trust.
" I will not say a word Commander I too find it hard to relax so far from home. I find it easier to stay busy and keep myseld distracted from those feelings. My time on earth was a little hard for me I was not use to the customs and what they call a sense of humor. They are things I'm still trying to master."
Listen to the Commander talk about her sister he could see she was trying to build some type of realationship with him. He listened to and could tell there was real feeling when it came to her sister. Then again he thought about what he knew and the secerts he was already keeping about there Commander. Still he had to give her enough rope to see which way she would go with it. Decideding to take a chance he opened up a little maybe there could be some type of trust.
" I find that its easier to stay to myself Commander in this way I dont embarce myself or the crew by my lack of human interaction. My world is not in federation space my adoptive world anyway. It was very hard for me to fit in with my own kind because of this, but I do try from time to time and I learn and pass on what I learned to my world. I have no family off world so in a sense I'm alone in that department"<tag Garrett>
Looking back down to check the status of the upgrades and to gage the Commanders response. He was interested in what she might say still he felt guarded areound her and the crew he still didn't know to many of them. After his interaction with Nathen he learned not to be so open which was hard for him. He didn't like shutting himself off but it seemed to be custom among humans and he needed to fit in.

~earlier~
"No speeches," Jayden promised with a smile, "I'm sure Nate's dad will do the speeching for you, the man seems happy enough to."
~present~
Nathan heard the doors slide open and shut and looked up to see who could've entered without being called in. The door was set to let the cats in if they'd strayed outside. His eyebrows rose in surprise when a copper coloured cat ran in. He cocked his head to study the tiny cat, frowning. "That one's familiar," he murmured.
"What was that?" Jayden replied, while not taking his eyes off Matt, who was still cradling little Angelique.
"That cat. It's none of ours, we haven't a copper coloured one." The fluffy creature jumped onto his lap, mewing softly. Raising the cat up, Nathan suddenly smiled. "Copper, " he remembered, "this is Copper." He looked towards the door and saw a tail sticking in from the doorway. "Come in Firestorm," he called, his grin widening.
The larger copper-coloured cat pounced into the room, his tail coiled in delight. "Thought I saw the Jefferson docked," Firestorm said, snaking his tail forward to wrap it around Nathan's wrist by way of 'hello'. "Heard you've been unwell too." Firestorm scrutinised his old friend. "You smell happy."
"Ah but I am happy," the doctor replied, grinning at Matt and Jayden. "I think you know Matt?" At Firestorm's nod, he then pulled Jayden over. "But you don't know my fiancΓ©, Jayden Mitchell. Jayden, this is my friend Firestorm to Ennien, he's a medic"
Whiskers pricked forward as ears were laid back in surprise. "You're getting married? But what of..." He fell silent. "No matter, you do seem happy. And who's the little one? Your daughter captain?"
Nathan laughed. "My daughter, and a very long story, which I'll tell another time." He handed the small cat over. "This one's yours I believe, she walked in a minute ago."
"I know!" Firestorm purred in delight as he set little Copper back on his shoulder. "She keeps running off. I think she needs a litter soon, she's getting a little wild. Your Sox perhaps interested?"
"Perhaps..."
Jayden laughed at his mate's discomfort. "Now's not the time Firestorm, we've got other matters to discuss. Like getting married. Captain, would tomorrow be too soon?" Nathan nodded in agreement. "Before we get badgered by Murphy's Law again?" the young marine added.
Firestorm curled up on the floor, listening quietly. When the captain would leave, his time to ask questions and examine his friend would come. He'd been concerned for a while now, when he had no news at all. And now so many new impressions...he was excited!

Feeling grateful he was making an effort as well and hoping this would go a long way towards establishing some professional trust between them, Megan nodded in understanding. “I may have grown up on Earth, but I’m not particularly comfortable with personal interactions either,” Commander Garrett confessed. “I have a general understanding and know enough to blend in for the most part, but I attempt to avoid social events whenever it’s possible. I suppose that means we have something in common,” she commented wryly with a slight smile. “You may feel free to use me as a stand-by excuse to avoid general social obligations if you’d like,” she offered. “As long as the Captain isn’t involved of course...otherwise, you’re on your own.”

Taking a quick glance at the engineering station, which was signaling an alert for some reason, Megan quickly replied. “Well, between the two of us, we should be able to get out of a few social events, and with both of us on the bridge now, we’ll keep the repair and refit teams under control, so the Jefferson should be ready for anything next mission. Carry on here. I’ll go see what’s going on in Engineering,” she added, moving toward the station to deal with a very small power malfunction.
After dealing with the minor issue, caused by a slight miscalculation by a new station engineer, Megan began to catch up on all the latest repairs and upgrades the ship was undergoing. Although it had only been a few days since docking, Commander Garrett was beginning to get a bit...restless. Being entirely caught up with nothing urgent requiring her attention, she was longing to begin the next mission or even to get a separate assignment, but this was a desire she would never voice. In spite of being an agent once more, it had been under some degree of protest, and the First Officer was still concerned as to whether or not she was physically up to it. A brief moment of weakness or dizziness was bad news anytime, but on a high-risk, solo engagement, it could easily be enough to get herself and many others killed.
With a sigh, Megan forced her attention back on her console. She would just have to hope for a new mission soon and try to keep her thoughts from causing trouble.

Listening intently to what Commander Garret was say he kept monitoring the up grades.
Feeling grateful he was making an effort as well and hoping this would go a long way towards establishing some professional trust between them, Megan nodded in understanding. βI may have grown up on Earth, but Iβm not particularly comfortable with personal interactions either,β Commander Garrett confessed. βI have a general understanding and know enough to blend in for the most part, but I attempt to avoid social events whenever itβs possible. He took a minute from what he was doing and let out a little chuckle, he found it odd that there commander felt the same way about social gatherings. After all she grew up on earth from what he could tell so social inter action he assumed would be easier for her.
" I will keep that in mind Commander the next time I need out of something. Strange you have taught me something new I did not consider before. Even if I had grown up on earth I might still struggle with these inter actions. I have to say it does make me feel a little better knowing its not easy for people who were brought up on earth.''
" It would seem we have somethings in common Commander, please feel free to use me as enexcuse as well if needed. I"ve been thinking Commander " he wasn't sure if he was ready to take the next step but until Commander Garrett gave cause to doubt her motivation he would try. " I can if you wish install a few upgrades to your shuttle that were still on the drawing board when contructed. Of course thats up to you as I would need access to the shuttle to install up grades. While I admit they are small it would reduce power demands on some key systems and give only about 5% power up grade of course if you elect not to I would not be offended" <Tag Garrett>

It had finally been decided upon, the wedding of Nathan and Jayden would be taking place tomorrow at 1800 hours. Everything would be ready for this special occasion and Matt was not going to allow anything to deny his friends special day. As Matt made his way out of Nathan's quarters he immediately realized that he had yet to get the couple a wedding gift.
Knowing that he couldn't allow this little oversight to ruin his entire day, Matt went about his buisness like normal. After spending a few minutes with Caleb abd his homework, Matt accessed the computer database hoping to find an adequate wedding gift. Nothing seemed to do the trick and now five hours after starting the quest for the perfect gift, Matthew Reynolds was ready to quit.
"Just give them something they will use, dad," Caleb said inbetween yawns," they are complicated people, but no one is that complicated."
"You should be in bed," Matt said as he picked up his son," plus I think I'm really complicated."
"You are!" Caleb said as he rested his head on his father's shoulder," you keep doing things that make no sense. Like with Kristin, why haven't you married her yet?"
The question came as a complete surprise, but he couldn't deny that he had been thinking about it. Wanting to talk about this a little bit more with Caleb, Matt began to ask his son some questions, but quickly realized that Caleb had fallen back asleep.
"You are to smart for your own good," Matt said as he kissed his son's forehead and left him to his dreams. Today was going to be a really big day on the Jefferson and Matt would need to get a few hours of sleep if he was going to do the cermony correctly.

moving ahead a little...
JP with Vice Admiral MC7of9
"Out you go, its time for us to get things ready on this end. And by things, I mean your soon to be Husband!" The gentle jibe was enough for Jayden to take the hint that Mc7 wanted him to vacate Nathans quarters and allow the two men to get ready for the ceremony which was due to begin in a little over four hours. Before he left Jayden walked over to his fiance, taking his hand and gently kissed it, with his parting words of "See you at the end of the aisle."
Nathan grinned happily, before returning his attention to his suit. “I never thought I'd get remarried again, let alone so soon!” he exclaimed, turning to face his old friend. “And I'm very grateful for your being here.”
With those words, Jayden turned on his heel and left Nathans quarters. When the doors closed, Mc7 walked over to the replicator, ordering two Isle of Jura single malts. With a gentle humming sound the two glasses of amber liquid materalised into existance. Taking the two glasses and handing one to Nathan, Mc7 raised his glass towards the ceiling and spoke, "Nathan, we've known each other for a good length of time now, and I wanted to let you know how truly honoured I am that you chose me to be a part of your special day." Clicking their glasses together he finished speaking, "To a a long and happy marriage."
“And long friendships,” the doctor added. He studied the amber liquid, then sipped it. “I wouldn't want to have anyone else stand with me today.” He meant every single word of that; they shared a history, a unique history. “I still remember the day we were introduced,” he laughed, as he sipped the drink again. “I never thought she'd arrange, the conniving little...” He laughed again. “But I never regretted that she did.” Nathan smiled. “Help me with the tie?” he queried, as he struggled one-handed with the item.
Mc7 finished his Jura and sat the glass to the side. Using both hands, he begun to knot Nathan's tie. Taking a step back, he admired his work, and noticed that the bow of the tie was slightly squint. He adjusted it and nodded his approval, pronouncing it complete.
“Thank you, I never got the hang of these.” He shifted nervously. “Look at me, well over 40 and nervous like a green youth. I wonder what dad or Sonak will say. She said she'd be here, didn't she?” He shifted again. “How much time do we have left?”
"A little over three hours. Still plenty of time, dont worry!" Mc7 had got himself ready on the base before making his way to the Jefferson, and then Nathan's quarters. He wore the traditional dress of his homeland of Scotland, back on Earth. It was a kilt, made with the Pride of Scotland tartan, and accompanied with a small Sgian Dhub. The traditional small dagger was protruding out of his right sock just below the knee.
“Plenty of...” Nathan's voice trailed off, “three hours isn't nearly enough time.” He sank down on the couch, looking slightly pale. “I think I need another drink,” he murmured, even though he knew full well that he couldn't have that many more. “And yet, it's too long...what if he changes his mind?” Of course he wouldn't, but the thought still tugged at his mind, playing upon his fears. Jayden wasn't Paul, certainly not. Jayden would never leave him. He shook his head, looking up. “You look dashing,” he offered, smiling once more. “Looks good with the admiral's jacket too.”

(ooc:: this is a little old as its been a while since you guys saw me.)
It was over. The children were back and safe. Everything was ok. Now Valad was done. Valad slumped back in the direction of his quarters, where he slept soundly for twelve hours.
Valad next days were those of a relaxing nature. The wedding was coming up in a few hours and he wouldn't miss it for the world. But he had a promise to keep and he never broke a promise, no matter how small it was. Sickbay was just down the corridor as Valad pushed through the atmosphere of the ship, which he still felt as if he were at the bottom of an ocean, trying to walk upright. It was hard and he hated still being tired after the mission. But he was and that was that. The sickbay doors parted as he walked in. Valad surveyed the scene, thankful to find only a few in there. His eyes glanced to each bed until he found the one he was looking for. He quietly walked over hoping not to wake her.
βYouβre late,β DβEtora said quietly. Damn. βOnly by a few minutes though.β
βSo Iβm safe?β Valad asked.
βThat depends on your definition of safe,β came the weak reply.
βWell, Iβll take my chances.β Valad smiled down at her. βCan you leave?β
DβEtora coughed. βI think so. But even if I canβt, Iβm going to.β
And to that, Valad laughed. βYouβre not leaving until on of these fine doctors tell you that you can go. Iβm going to find nurse Lowell anyway. Iβll bring it up.β
βI hate doctors,β DβEtora mumbled to herself.
βWhat was that?β
βNothing, nothing. Go talk to the nurse.β
Valad found Hannah doing something that he would prefer to have nothing to do with. Medical experiments were not his thing. βNurse, I have two questions for you. Can I kidnap the Klingon and how powerful is your heaviest sedative? And no, itβs not for the klingon.β

Jayden wasn't too surprised at being 'thrown out' of his home. He knew Nathan and MC had a history, and when the admiral had shown up in full Scottish outfit, he had known he'd be one too many. Shaking his head in mock dismay, he found his way to Cyle's quarters. "Sir, are you ready?" he asked when Cyle opened up. "I just got thrown out, three hours before the ceremony. I believe we should err...prepare? I think that's what Nathan and the admiral are doing anyway, sort of recalling old times?"
(cyle)

In sickbay, Hannah was tidying up before the wedding. She only had a few hours before she would have to be there. From the corner of her eyes she saw Valad enter sickbay and strike up a conversation with D'Etora. From the look on her face, Hannah judged she wasn't too thrilled at being cooped up here.
And further more, she wasn't surprised when Valad approached her. “Nurse, I have two questions for you. Can I kidnap the Klingon and how powerful is your heaviest sedative? And no, it’s not for the klingon.”
"The Klingon, as you refer to her, would be well enough to leave," Hannah replied carefully, "and the most powerful sedative is, obviously, very powerful. What would you need it for? As I would need to get the doctor's approval." She nodded over to the office, where Peter van Breughel was bent over a stack of reports, catching up while his son was off duty.

"I will keep that in mind, Commander, the next time I need out of something. Strange you have taught me something new I did not consider before. Even if I had grown up on earth I might still struggle with these interactions. I have to say it does make me feel a little better knowing its not easy for people who were brought up on Earth.''
“It’s the old nurture or nature debate,” Megan agreed, feeling more relaxed by the minute. “Clearly, we’re a product of both our environment as well as our genetics, but how strong an impact each has over which aspects of a person varies greatly. There’s also a factor of individuality which is rather unpredictable. I may have grown up on Earth and be more familiar with social obligations and their requirements, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy them any more unfortunately. Even if you had grown up on Earth, you may or may not be more comfortable with the social standards, but it’s impossible to know for certain. So it’s best just to acknowledge your feelings as a part of who you are, regardless of their origins, make the necessary adjustments, and perhaps attempt to make an effort to improve if you so desire,” she suggested, adding, “That’s what I do, though instead of improving, I simply make an escape.”
"It would seem we have something in common, Commander. Please feel free to use me as excuse as well if needed,” Pride offered congenially, and pausing briefly, he continued. “I’ve been thinking, Commander, I can if you wish install a few upgrades to your shuttle that were still on the drawing board when constructed. Of course it’s up to you as I would need access to the shuttle to install up grades. While I admit they are small it would reduce power demands on some key systems and give only about five percent power up grade. Of course, if you elect not to, I would not be offended," the navigator quickly amended before awaiting the First Officer’s reply.
In an instant, any progress they made was practically erased, as Megan began to tense again, although keeping the smile firmly planted on her face. Very carefully observing Pride for any trace of intent, Commander Garrett almost instantly began debating whether or not he was simply offering as an attempt at a peace offering of some sort or whether he was taking advantage of their new-found comradery by attempting to gain access to advanced technology. Unfortunately, he was difficult to read. “I’m afraid that with the gift of the shuttle came the unspoken agreement that I not to allow anyone access to it. I’m sure you understand...” she replied, still smiling pleasantly in the hope that he wasn’t particularly skilled at reading emotions.
“If you’ll excuse me, Commander, I may be on-duty surreptitiously, but I still have things to accomplish. I never saw you, and you never saw me,” she added jokingly, but as she turned and moved to the science station, her smile faded and her mind began to spin possible scenarios at a confusingly and increasingly alarming rate.
~
A wedding was a truly exciting event in the world of Marina Garrett. It presented the opportunity to assemble the perfect outfit complete with cute accessories often including her date. However, Marina wasn’t one of those silly girls who absolutely, positively had to have a date or the whole day was an epic failure. No...she viewed it differently. If she didn’t arrive with a date, she most certainly would leave with one.
Of course the security officer did hope her boss would ask her to attend with him, and this would most likely happen considering the date they’d had plus the fact he probably didn’t know anyone else. However, if he didn’t ask, for whatever reason including not wanting to be seen with his subordinate, Marina would end up going alone and make him wish he had. True, to not be asked would be mildly upsetting, but it would present her with the perfect opportunity to make him extremely jealous.
As Ensign Garrett seated herself cross-legged on the couch with her computer on her lap, latte on the table next to her and a plate of biscotti to her right, a delighted grin crossed her face as she settled in for an afternoon of shopping. Full access to replicator files, starbase inventory, the latest fashion trends, and a cross-referenced selection of colors that were both in style and suited to her complexion were easily at hand and all that she required to assemble the ideal ensemble for the occasion.
~
In the not so far away but very different world of Megan Garrett, a wedding was an absolute disaster, especially one from which there was no escape. Such was the case of this particular wedding. Captain Reynolds wouldn’t have it for her not to be present, and Nathan would most likely be highly offended if she neglected to show up, and therefore, before any attempts were even made to avoid this unpleasant circumstance, the battle had already been lost. The fortunate side of this event was the lack of wardrobe concerns. At home, a wedding at meant getting dragged shopping to pick up something that she would never wear again, or at least pray never to have to wear again, along with some extremely uncomfortable shoes, not to mention trying to figure out what to do with her hair, what to do about make-up, and the rest of the horrible, frustrating, and unnecessary trouble that was a wedding.
No, this time all Megan had to do was show up without any additional trouble taken to her appearance save putting on a dress uniform rather than a standard duty one. While somewhat uncomfortable, it beat a fancy dress and high heals any day. In fact, the only pre-wedding preparation that Commander Garrett had to make was that of obtaining a wedding present, a debacle which had long ago been settled by merely duplicating the selection made at the first wedding she had been forced to attend. While this may have seemed a bit lazy or even inconsiderate, her taste in gifts was abysmal, and fortunately, this particular present was very nice and always came across as very thoughtful. Even if the selection of the present may not have been original or necessarily thoughtful, the sentiments included were always genuine.
So as Megan surveyed her reflection in the mirror, looking exactly as it did every day with the exception of the alternate uniform, she decided all-in-all the trouble so far was acceptable. Of course, the actual event could be an unmitigated disaster depending on how things went and how well she avoided any of the embarrassing or awkward wedding traditions... Her mission was simple: arrive at the wedding, take an inconspicuous seat, attend the ceremony, time her arrival at the reception to just before Nathan’s, place her gift on the table, offer her congratulations, maybe grab a piece of the cake, and then leave as quickly and quietly as possible. It was certainly an obtainable goal. Now it was just a matter of execution and a little luck...

Tamara stepped out of the airlock, let out an audible yawn, and stretched her arms. It had been a four hour flight to the Starbase, on a transport ship that didn't serve any sort of refreshments. All the same to Tamara - as she slept for most of it, the reason for the sudden need to unstiffen her back.
She headed straight from the airlock to the turbolift, announced her deck of preference, and let out another yawn while straightening her uniform. The doctor exited when the doors opened and made her way through the twisting corridors to the airlock of the Jefferson.
~/\~ Authorization Required ~/\~ the computer said when Tamara approached the first set of doors.
=/\= Doctor Tamara Thompson, Lieutenant Commander =/\=
The door made a noise that affirmed her information. The doors opened, she stepped inside. A guard immediately asked her if he could help her.
Tamara smiled warmly. "If you could, would you tell me where I could find Commander Garrett?"
She knew she could ask the computer, but she allowed the gentleman before her to do it instead.
"She's in her quarters, ma'am... I mean, Doctor." his face blushed a little.
"I might be old, but I'm no ma'am." she said, giggling at his mistake. "You can call me Doctor Thompson. Or Tamara. Anything - just not m'am." She patted his back as a mother would do to a son. He proceeded to lead the way to the First Officer's room.
Along the way, Tamara couldn't help but to reacquaint herself with the surroundings. It had been over a year since she had been aboard. While her stay would not be long - she only had one piece of business to attend to - it was kind of nice to see some of the familiar faces. For the life of her she couldn't remember anyone's name.
"Here we are... Tamara." he smiled as he rethought his words. "Hope your stay is well."
"I'm sure it will be." she said. As long as everyone cooperates, she thought to herself.
The door chime rang. Commander Garrett opened the door for Tamara, and the two immediately smiled. Megan wasn't much for hugs or Tamara would have given her one. It was nice to see her again - even though Megan always tried to avoid psychological evaluations.
Megan was all about business, and led Tamara into her room. The Commander tugged at her dress uniform on the way to her desk - it was clear she was out of her element. Tamara brought hers but was not wearing it. She would wait to see how things went.
"It is customary to receive some sort of marriage counseling prior to the performance of nuptials, as you know Doctor," Megan started.
"Please, call me Tamara." She knew that was going to be hard for Megan, but she threw it out there anyways.
"Tamara." Megan said, quickly fixing her statement in an attempt to move past.
"I understand. You need your crew to be healthy, mentally and physically. Being in charge of personnel, you'll are authorized to receive a report about the patient's health. I do have to remind you, though, that confidentially will be used for anything not pertaining to Nathan to be able to do his job."
Megan nodded. She wasn't asking for the latest gossip. She just wanted to know what she was going to be dealing with after this whole marriage thing took place.
"And, having been called in quite late - this counseling session will not be one that will persuade one way or the other... This wedding is happening, obviously." She pointed at the dress uniform
Again, Megan nodded. Tamara's gesture reminded her that the uniform was uncomfortable, which forced her to readjust again.
"With that being said, is there anything you are concerned about in particular?"
This kind of talk made Megan feel clearly awkward. It wasn't that she didn't trust Nathan, nor was it that she thought Nathan was making a hugely horrible decision - although she clarified that she wasn't fond of his arrangement. It was mostly that she was concerned, with all of Nathan's past problems - with the non-nuclear family he has begun to create - that perhaps the complications of such would interfere with his work.
"I have an interesting relationship with him, as you know," Tamara added. "His son took quite a liking to me. Nathan didn't appreciate it, or at least that's how I understood it - I think because it reaffirmed the need for Freddy to have a mother." She shrugged. "I think we will be fine this time. Does he know to expect me?"
Megan breathed inward heavily without offering any words to the contrary. Her eyes searched for something to look at besides Tamara, knowing that Tamara wouldn't be too happy with the answer.
"Well then..." Tamara said smiling. "This will be interesting." There were no hard feelings. It would probably be easier to talk to Nathan if he wasn't ready for her anyway.
------ A few minutes later -----
Tamara stood at the door, gathered her composure, and activated the chime. A man's voice called out, "Come in!"

He found it easy to talk to Commander Garrett and was getting some insight into the type of person she was. He had to admit he was going to have to change a few of his idea's about her. He wasn't to shocked about her not wanting him to work on her shuttle, he didn't have any other intentions for his motives. Still it was a pause for concern for him, after all he was on of the first test pilots to fly the shuttle there weren't to many things about it he didn't know. His security clearance on the matter was in effect and he couldn't reveal anything that he saw.
It was something to file away for later and think about, while she was trying to build a bridge she was still holding back. He remembered the earlier conversation about human interaction and for the moment chalked it up to a trust issue and left it at that.
" Very Commander if you change your mind all you have to do is ask. As you said earlier I didn't see you enjoy your day Commander"

Joint post with Nathan
Mc7 looked in the mirror, turned towards Nathan and with a grin spreading over his face he replied, "I do, don't I." The two old friends laughed at the Admirals immodesty, not a common trait of his. Nathan grinned, setting his glass down on the table. He leaned forward, resting his arms on his knees. "I'm so nervous," he admitted, "I know he won't change his mind, but what if I freeze up? I really want to get married, even though you know I said I never would again. I'm scared."
Mc7 looked directly at his friend, and there was almost a hint of uncertainty in his eyes. "All you need to ask yourself is do you love him? If the answer is yes, then it doesn't matter if you go as frozen as a Tarkalian desert rat during an ice age, he'll see your love shining from your eyes, just as I can now." And with those words, the look of uncertainty seemed to melt away and was instantly replaced by what Mc7 could only describe as happiness.
"You're right. You're absolutely right." He reached out, smiling. "Thank you. Where would I be if you hadn't been here talking some sense?" The doctor rose to his feet, picking up both glasses. "More?" he queried innocently, "I can't have more, but you can if you want." He mock-shrugged. "Doctor's orders," he grinned.
"I think the one was more than enough, I'll save the rest for the reception." With that, Nathan moved over to the replicator and recycled the glasses back into the ships replicator system, ready to be reworked into some other item at one of the many replicators spread throughout the ship. "Well I suppose we should start thinking about heading to the observation lounge, I wouldn't want the groom to be late now!"
"I think I would like a few minutes alone to organise my thoughts," the doctor answered wryly,"you go on ahead and organise everyone. Matt's probably wanting a word anyway. I'll be there shortly, I'm not going to flee, I promise."
"Ok then, I'll see you in the lounge shortly then," and with that, the Admiral left Nathan alone with his thoughts.

Cyle sighed as he stood aside to allow Cprl Mitchell to enter his room. Although Cyle was not one to dress up for any occasion, aside from a military formation, he was dressed rather nicely. Wearing a simple but elegant blue tunic, wrapped around his waist was a black studded belt, with a Celtic knot design in the middle. His pants were made of a black silk like material, with a blue strip running along the side down to his shoes, which were his boots, freshly polished and cleaned. Moving to the replicator he looked back, "Can i get you anything Corporal?" Taking the drink order and inputting it into the replicator, he returned to Mitchell's side, "Is that what you wish to do? recall old times?" The older marine asked, placing his full glass of water on a table near his bed.

Soon after his old friend had departed, someone else signaled his or her presence. Sighing, wondering if he ever got his few minutes alone, Nathan called for the person to come in. His eyes widened in genuine surprise when he recognised his visitor, and at once regretted that Freddy was not here with him. Angel was sleeping, and as soon as he was ready to depart, he would activate the holo-nanny to tend to her.
"Tamara!" he called out, taking two quick strides before drawing her to him in a tight hug. "I wasn't sure whether you would've gotten the news, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised huh?" He released her just as quickly, holding her at arm's length. "Freddy will be delighted to see you. He's probably in the observation lounge already, wondering what's keeping me, worrying that I'll run off."
The doctor smiled. "He'll never forgive you for having left you know, he was quite sure you were going to be his mother. He's happy though. Still suffers a slight hearing defect but he's recovering very well." A shadow cast over his face, briefly replacing his sheer happiness. "Better than his father, for sure." A second later, his smile reappeared. "And I have better news too. I'm a father again, I've - no we've - a beautiful daughter."
Grabbing her hand, his thoughts about being alone for a few minutes entirely forgotten, and not even giving Tamara a chance to say a word so far, he tagged her along. A proud smile spread across his face. "Angelique," he said, as he indicated the sleeping infant. "My nanny will take care of her during the ceremony. Oh oh! I must be going soon. You're coming too aren't you? No, I'm not taking no for an answer, you're coming now that you're here. Jayden must meet you, I insist."
Then, when he ran out of words, he suddenly stared at her. "But that's not all the reason you're here, is it?" he asked quietly, as he closed the door to the bedroom behind him, knowing the nanny would activate almost instantly on the other side of the door. "I have forty-five minutes until the ceremony, and I don't intend to be late."
==
"Can i get you anything Corporal?" Taking the drink order and inputting it into the replicator, he returned to Mitchell's side, "Is that what you wish to do? recall old times?"
"No sir, I don't think I could get anything down my throat just now," Jayden replied politely, shifting nervously. "I don't know what I want to do right now. I'm nervous as hell, but I wouldn't want it any other way. What would you do?"
Jayden glanced nervously at the chronometer. Less than an hour to go, where had time gone! "How well do you know Nathan?" he then asked, "when did you first meet and where? I know you and him are friends, and I think I'd like it if you were mine too. More than just my superior, while off duty. I really would like that, and I know Nathan would too. I know I chose well for my best man, I don't doubt that for a second. I know I chose well for a mate too. You do approve, don't you?"

"I don't know what I want to do right now. I'm nervous as hell, but I wouldn't want it any other way. What would you do?" Unsure how to answer that question, Cyle simple stated the facts. "I would be at the gym right now punching a bag or wrestling a klingon. Cyle saw the corporal chuckle and somewhere inside he felt a smile building, but it was quickly stopped short when the younger marine continued.
You do approve, don't you?" Cyle crossed his arms and placed his palms under his pits, holding for a second before answering. " You were on the Jefferson before i arrived, so you would remember Colonel Hrisvalar, the CO at the time. Our first interaction came with a mission in the Ethelon Star System. After that various injuries brought me to the care of the Doctor. We didn't exactly become friends until i saved his son, and the rest is history"

Tamara nodded as Nathan ensured she was coming to the wedding. She had brought her dress uniform; had it cleaned and pressed before she jumped ship to make it over. Last minute as it was, she barely had enough time to contact Commander Garrett to let her know of her arrival. You could only imagine the surprise, especially since the First Officer put in for a psychological evaluation, and didn't request a doctor. Luck would have it that Tamara was in the neighborhood. As to why is a story to be told some other time.
"First and foremost, you look handsome." Tamara tried her hardest to let the warmth from her heart emanate from her smile. "And I'm sure you are going to make a great..." -- she dug herself into a hole there, was he going to be the... or the... she stumbled a bit before saying "partner." - a neutral noun.
"But, as you know, or perhaps you don't know since you aren't technically Starfleet, that psych evaluations are quite standard, and since your plans were all of a sudden, or so I hear, I am here at the eleventh hour."
Tamara wiggled her fingers and raised her cheeks at the young Angel, who just happened to open her eyes from her nap. She was so cute.
"You sure are going to have yourself a nice family, Nathan." If one could remember back when she was the ship's counselor, she rarely called people by their formal names.
Nathan nodded, still primming himself before he was called to the ceremony.
"Any thoughts on where you are going to live?" Tamara was sure he had an answer to this, but it was her segue into more deeper matters.
"I'm also curious --- is this Jay... Jayden? Is he Starfleet?" ... "No?" ... "A marine? Ah... nice. I don't think you've told me of him before."
Tamara had known about Nathan's romantic characteristics, to put it lightly, ever since an incident between him and the ship's Captain of the time, Brigadier Hrisvalar, had an episode which landed them both into temporary counseling.
"Since you aren't Starfleet, are you worried that he might be reassigned away from you?"
Tamara's questions continued along the same line, prying into how much thought Nathan had given toward marrying Jayden. From the looks of it, it was pretty well planned out.
"Before I go get ready," she looked at the chronometer and gasped, "I'm never going to get changed in time! ... Anyway, before I leave, can I have you press your thumb on my padd, authorizing me to discuss your medical files with your Commanding officers? Nothing personal, just a formality."
She presented the padd. Before he touched it, she asked, "And would it be a bother if I could have you and Jayden come in after your honeymoon?... you are going somewhere right?"
Tamara held out the padd and waited for an answer as Nathan brushed a comb through his hair one more time.

He knew the rest of the ship was getting ready for a wedding, it was strange for him. He knew the custom but found it odd that one needed to have a wedding to be bounded to somebody. When one found who they wanted they just stayed together on he adoptive home world. It was a simple way of saying I belong to you and no other there was no grand standing admitting your love in public. Still he couldn't judge to much on matters he knew very little about.
Still he didn't know if he would attend yet he had plenty to keep busy with. He still felt like a out sider on the ship he brief meeting with Nathan had not gone so well. In that moment he had learned that sharing is not always a welcome thing when it came to emotions. He didn't hate Nathan by any means he just didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable on his special day. Not to mention he was a little concerned about breaking some customs he might not know anything about. Not to mention the captain hadn't really made it a order to attend with luck he might be able to escape this social occasion.
Then again things might change but no sense worrying about that now. He was still focused on the upgrades and repairs and his mind was trying to make some sense out of commander Garrett. He was willing to try and trust her but there was a long way to go on that issue. He wondered how the captain did it surely by now he knew there was more to Garrett then most people knew.

ooc: tamara, it'd be greatly appreciated if you didn't presume any responses/actions for nathan. I prefer to write my own character, thank you.
ic:
"Since you aren't Starfleet, are you worried that he might be reassigned away from you?"
Nathan sighed as he pressed his thumb to the PADD, thereby giving his approval. As he did so, he pondered her question, yet he had known the answer all along. "I'm not too worried about Jayden being reassigned. He's company commander under Colonel Johnson, and he's quite content at being that. And if there is the need, I can always request a transfer."
He gazed at her intently. "So why the sudden counseling session? You say it's mandatory, but I've no knowledge of this."
"The sudden counseling session is to make certain you are doing the right thing, my dearest brother," a woman's voice suddenly sounded from behind them. "To be absolutely certain that you have taken everything into consideration, and to be honest, I question your sanity."
The doctor's eyes widened in surprise as a Vulcan woman in a rear-admiral's dress uniform walked in. Then he smiled brightly as he took her into a very tight hug. "Yes you always questioned my sanity, sister dear." He released her, then stepped back. "I promise though, I'm not doing this lightly. I know for certain that if I don't have him with me, I will die. He is what kept me sane after that Romulan got to me, but it's not about owing him anything." He shot Tamara an annoyed look. "I love him, and he knows it. He's half Betazoid, he'd know if I wasn't sincere in my feelings."
Sonak stood tall and proud, watching the other woman warily, waiting patiently for an introduction. "As do I," she replied quietly. She could indeed tell her older brother was sincere, could sense it easily as she was very much attuned to him, telepathically due to their numerous mind-melds when she was younger. It helped tremendously that he wasn't making any conscious effort to block her out either, as she had taught him to do with telepaths, long ago.
"Ah...Lieutenant Commander Tamara Thompson, please meet my sister, Rear Admiral Sonak Reckus. Sonak, Tamara used to be counselor here on the Jefferson." He grinned at the dark-skinned woman. "Sonak is a counselor as well as a reknowned surgeon. Just, these days she's just a starship captain."
"I am aware of that," the Vulcan replied calmly, "I came to see you prior to the ceremony. I'm sure we'll have more opportunity to talk afterwards. I have something to share with you, rather, someone. And, of course, I would meet the man who managed to sway you on a vow you made after your divorce. I imagine it was quite a feat, so well done to him." She offered a slight smile.
Nathan grinned as he watched her leave. "Annoying, how she can always walk into a room without me noticing. I suppose though, a medical override will do that?" He sighed. "Would you allow me to escort you to the observation lounge? I believe we should head there now, or I shall be terribly late and I don't wish Jayden to think for a second that I don't want to go through with this."
Sonak shook her head. "Escort Tamara, I have Jatan waiting for me, and the children." She inclined her head to Tamara. "Pleasure to meet you."
--
Nathan walked to the front of the isle, joining Jayden there. Since there was no bridge, neither man saw any point to walking down an isle in the traditional fashion. Instead, they now stood together, both looking nervous, waiting for Captain Reynolds to start the ceremony.

That was the problem with Vulcans - they came off moody even when they are not. She must have been adopted, or half human, if she truly was related to Nathan. Perhaps related by marriage? Was this Jatan a human? It was only a fleeting thought, not a line of questioning she was interested in pursuing.
"Well - You can escort me to the turbolift. I have yet to change." She curtsied in his direction, facetiously pulling on air a few inches from her knees to show she was missing a skirt.
The walk was uneventful. Tamara got the information she needed - and spent the trip convincing Nathan that nobody thought less of him for his decision- not that she knew of anyway. It indeed was a formality of sorts ... but only in that the First Officer had the right, and the duty, to call a counselor into any life-changing event to assess the impact of duties being performed. Commander Garrett had exercised her right. Tamara didn't feel it was right to ask Commander Garrett why. In fact, the answer seemed quite obvious to her - but, as always, Nathan took offense.
"Well, I'll meet you at your celebration!" The doors of the lift closed as Tamara waved open-handed in an excited gesture.
When the doors closed and the pressure lock engaged she put her hand to her head and sighed, falling back against the wall of the lift. That had gone better than she had expected, but Nathan's constant questioning and lack of self esteem drained her emotionally.
The lift opened at her guest quarters. She reserved a room just in case. She quickly changed, and emerged, straightening out the last few wrinkles before checking her schedule on the desk computer.
"Just a week and I'm back to Earth." she said excitedly to the screen. She missed her husband terribly. Ever since being called to the USS Jefferson on special assignment last year, he was miffed for letting her go. The agreement was to serve Starfleet on the USS Jefferson, and once that was complete - come home. Of course, after being home for a few days, Tamara was not one to sit still, and naturally, she ended up volunteering her time on a Starbase. Time went by, and now she found herself with the crew that she originally joined Starfleet to help. Dabnus, her husband, would probably punch everyone in this crew for having enough problems to need his wife. Otherwise, any warm body coming out of the Academy would do as ship's counselor. How hard is it to listen?
Just another week. When Nathan and Jayden complete their nuptials, and things get more back to normal, she would talk to him more in depth. In the mean time, she might catch up with some of the crew of the Jefferson she fancied.
She scurried across the room and out the door on her high heals. The rhythmic sound of her toes hitting the ground and the heals subsequently clicking on the hard floor could be heard fading away down the hall as she made her way to the observation lounge.

Tugging at her uniform while sitting in front of the console, Megan checked the time again. She had filed a report requesting a counselor to speak with Nathan as well as Jayden, before the wedding, as was standard procedure. However, Commander Garrett had been rather surprised to hear back from Lieutenant Commander Thompson. It made sense to have someone familiar with the crew to conduct the requisite session, but although Tamara had been nearby, it was still cutting it rather close. The speed in which the event had been arranged made it very difficult if not impossible for her to arrive on time, but there had been no other way around that.
Still, Megan was hoping that she might arrive soon enough to speak with Nathan briefly before the ceremony and to attend the actual wedding and reception, if not to really provide comprehensive counseling than to at least gain some insight from observation. The First Officer had a hard time imagining a Starfleet officer, Marine, or crewmember, especially a senior ‘officer’ such as Nathan in spite of his civilian status, being able to maintain a relationship and family. She had long ago decided that such things really didn’t mix, but clearly most people didn’t seem to agree. In spite of her personal feelings, Commander Garrett wouldn’t begrudge anyone their own choice or think any less of them, but she most certainly would make sure to do her part to ensure that necessary precautions were taken and regulations followed.
On top of her personal feelings and her professional duty, Nathan was a special case. He was a civilian living the life of an officer without the training, and he had been through a lot of trauma especially recently, so Megan felt it very important to ensure he was taken care of and his mental and emotional well-being supported. It wasn’t that she felt like he was making a bad decision, but it had all come about a bit quickly and immediately following a lot of stress, so it was only natural to be concerned. Commander Garrett wasn’t the type to really consider people ‘friends’ necessarily, but there were fellow officers, crewmembers and colleagues, and he was most definitely a colleague, maybe even what could be considered a close colleague, which was about as near to a friendship as she would tend to consider.
When the chime finally rang, Megan moved to admit the counselor. While never one to particularly like counselors or feel very comfortable around them, since she was hear to see Nathan, this wasn’t considered quite so bad. Smiling politely at the Lieutenant Commander, she showed her in and briefly explained why she had requested her presence and the specific reasons she was concerned. Tamara seemed to understand entirely, which made things easier, and so after a very brief conversation, the counselor went on her way, leaving Commander Garrett to plan.
Timing was very tricky in situations like this. You didn’t want to arrive too early, to get sucked into conversation with those around you, but you didn’t want to arrive so late as to get there after Nathan and Jayden but before they entered because that would be rude. It was a very delicate balance... Tugging on her uniform again while mentally commenting that it wasn’t really physically uncomfortable, rather it signified uncomfortable often social events, Megan accessed the internal sensors and decided to wait until Nathan left quarters and then sneak in at the last moment.
~
No invitation from Teyno to accompany her to the wedding had come, so Marina was in full ‘show him what he’s missing’ mode. Although she realized he was still settling in and could have been too busy to even think of asking anyone let alone her, she was a teeny, tiny bit hurt. Still, her outfit had come together perfectly and as a balm to her mood, several other officers had asked her to attend with them, although she had politely declined saying she preferred to go to weddings solo. If Teyno did end up asking her, she knew they would end up hurt, but that’s just how it went sometimes. Now as the time of the wedding approached, Ensign Garrett remained exactly where she had been for the past hour or so, in front of the mirror. She’d had her hair done on the holodeck, much easier than fighting with it herself, and now that her make up was done and her carefully selected outfit on, all she had left to do was put on the finishing touches and make sure everything was set.
She’d gone with a medium shade of blue, not too outlandishly bright or annoyingly pastel, but somewhere in between. Her accessories and jewelry all matched her dress perfectly, and her make-up as well, and her hair had been curled and pulled half back, so as far as Marina was concerned, she looked just about flawless. She may be attending alone but more likely than not she wouldn’t be leaving unescorted. After a few minutes of examination, to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything, Marina felt satisfied and headed off to the ceremony, planning to arrive between five and ten minutes before it was supposed to start, late enough for her to make a noticeable entrance but not nearly late enough to REALLY make an entrance…
As Marina arrived, heads did turn her way, as she had expected, but she couldn’t see Teyno anywhere, not that she was really looking for him of course. Seemingly obvious to any attention in her direction, she found her way to a seat somewhere in the middle of the rows of seats and waited for the ceremony to begin, pretending to observe and admire the dΓ©cor while secretly seeing who was there and where. Cyle was of course also not seen, but he was in the wedding party, and she still couldn’t find Teyno, though she did see some of the other guys who asked her as well, pretending not to stare at her, and some friends and fellow security officers. Her sister was nowhere to be seen, but that was expected. If she guessed, Megan would be sneaking in at the last moment and sitting in the very back so as to avoid being noticed. Honestly, sometime she felt like they couldn’t possibly be related...
~
Her plan executed perfectly, Megan did indeed slip in and take a seat in the back. Very few people noticed her arrival, which was exactly the way she wanted it. She noticed her sister immediately, looking perfectly fashionable as usual. The guests were seated and waiting for the ceremony to begin, and the time, along with the feeling in the air, seemed to indicate that it would start rather soon. Hands folded neatly in her lap, Commander Garrett waited along with everyone else for it to begin.

Jayden's eyes sparkled with joy as he saw his husband-to-be come walking down the isle. Cyle, as his best man, stood right beside him, while MC7of9 was waiting on the other side, for Nathan to take his place. He noted the doctor wasn't late, not quite, and when he saw a Vulcan woman, attended by a Human male, enter the room, he knew why he was almost late.
Almost sedately, but still very clearly very nervous, Nathan took his place. "I'm sorry I'm late," he whispered urgently, only for Jayden to hear, "my sister arrived, and a counselor decided to visit as well."
Both men looked up at Matt and listened, their faces intent and shining with happiness, as the captain recited their brief history together.
Even though this wasn't Matt's big day, he couldn't control the butterflies in his stomach. This was going to be the first nuptials that he was going to perform as the captain of the USS Jefferson. Knowing that he was surrounded by friends and family and most importantly the couple was as well.
"If I mess up please forgive me," Matt whispered before starting the ceremony.
"I do," Jayden replied to the question asked, his voice ringing clear through the silence that had fallen.
When asked the question in turn, Nathan's 'I do' resounded just as clearly, then fell into Jayden's arms as the 'you may now kiss..' was declared. Obviously that part of the lines was awkward, since there was no bridge, not exactly. Jayden's hand held firmly in his, Nathan started walking back to the doors, to get to the reception hall where their party would be. He smiled brightly as he walked past Tamara, his son flying towards them from the crowd.
Sonak stared at her brother, for once not bothered by keeping up an unemotional appearance. Tears freely streamed down her face, as she felt his happiness wash over her. Jatan squeezed her hand, whispering something to her. "Brother, the first dance is mine," she said, claiming him immediately. Of course, she first gave Jayden a very uncharacteristic hug. "Welcome to the family," she told him earnestly, then dragged Nathan off.
Jayden, a little overwhelmed by it all, spotted Marina. "Ensign?" he queried softly, holding out his arm. "Want to dance?" He realised that dancing with his husband would be awkward, as neither knew the female's steps, and now was not the time to learn.

After his excursion to sickbay, Valad had a short meal with D'Etora and he escorted her to her quarters. Valad had other plans today however. It was Nathan and Jayden's big day. Weddings were always a blessing to life. Valad put on his dress uniform and went to the ceremony.
Valad entered surveying the room, finding an empty seat near the back on the left side of the room. He sat and waited for the ceremony to begin. It did, and it was a brilliant sight. Seeing the love Nathan and Jayden held for each other was amazing. Valad was genuinely happy for them.
As the ceremony came to a close, the crowd made their way to the reception. Valad had never been big on parties, but since he wanted to be apart of the wondrous occasion, he made the appearance.

The ceremony was completed smoothly and now the reception was well underway. Megan managed to remain unobtrusive while still being present, and fortunately, she had gone unnoticed so far. That had been easy enough to do during the actual wedding since all eyes were on the proceedings, but the vast majority of the ‘danger’ was in reception. So Commander Garrett remained on the outskirts of the crowd, blending into the sea of uniforms rather easily and waiting for Nathan and Jayden to stop dancing to give her the opportunity to congratulate them without the threat of being asked to dance...one of the worst things she could possibly imagine, as she had no idea how. Most people she didn’t think would dare ask the First Officer, but the short list of those who had the slightest chance of doing so included Nathan. It would not do to approach him while still on the dance floor to avoid an invitation.
From her position against the wall, Megan did notice Marina being asked to dance by Jayden and the surprised look on her face elicited a tiny smile from the elder Garrett. It wasn’t often her younger sister was thrown in social situations, so it was always nice to see she wasn’t socially infallible. While waiting for her opportunity to safely over her congratulations, Commander Garrett surveyed the room quietly to make note of just how many people had attended. It was a fairly large turnout, and the First Officer noted that perhaps this occasion would raise crew’s morale.
~
"Ensign? Want to dance?" came the entirely unexpected question, and as Marina turned to match the voice to the face, one of the last people she had expected was Jayden. Her mouth dropping open in surprise, the security officer stammered for a moment before recovering, not quite smoothly but far from clumsily, offering him a tentative but polite smile and only somewhat hesitantly taking his extended arm.
“Of course…it most certainly wouldn’t do to turn you down today, now would it?” she laughed as they moved onto the dance floor. In spite of putting on a good face, it was a little awkward, especially as she could practically feel eyes following them as they danced, but Marina refused to show it. “It was a lovely ceremony, Corporal. Congratulations,” Ensign Garrett offered while focusing carefully on her steps. The polite, organized type of dancing that occurred at weddings wasn’t exactly her forte, although she knew enough to get by without humiliating herself for the most part at least. “I’m sure that you and Nathan will be very happy together,” she added.

"This isn't exactly your cup of tea, is it Commander?" Tamara joined Megan's position along the sidewall, examining the crowd go about their carrying on. She left the question open to interpretation. It was clear that Commander Garrett was on edge about this marriage... but it was also well known that Commander Garrett wasn't one to participate in large shows of revelry.
"I thought the ceremony was nice. There were quite a few people there, more than I expected." she took a drink of her ale. It was very uncharacteristic of her to be drinking ale, and the lack of experience with the tall glass, versus the martini glass, caused her to constantly gulp down more than she was trying to drink in a swallow.
Wiping the lipstick off of her glass casually, she continued the small talk with the Commander. At times, due to their precarious positions - Tamara a counselor, and Megan disliking counselors - the conservation became stale.
"You know, while I'm here," Tamara said to break the ice, "Why don't you stop by my quarters when you have a free moment."
Again the awkward silence, but Tamara amended her offer. "... Not a counseling session, Commander. Just dinner. Just us girls. Painting toenails, bad holo-novels... " She stated the last two to get a rise out of Megan. She couldn't be sure, but she thought she saw a smile.
"What'd'ya say?"

"This isn't exactly your cup of tea, is it Commander?" Tamara commented moving to stand beside her. Megan had been warily observing the counselor's approach while also watching Nathan dance and hoping desperately for a way out...and fast. Alas, no such escape presented itself before the Lieutenant Commander arrived.
“I have a lot of work still waiting for me,” Megan replied, sidestepping the question entirely. A truthful, direct answer would have been no...she’d much rather be doing almost anything, including facing down a fleet of enemy ships or sneaking behind enemy lines to retrieve data than in her dress uniform making small talk like this...
“I thought the ceremony was nice. There were quite a few people there, more than I expected,” the counselor commented taking a sip of her drink and gratefully turning the subject to something more familiar and comfortable to Megan…work. “I’m glad that word of this spread so quickly to create such a large turnout,” Megan agreed, echoing her own previous thoughts. “Events such as these are often very good for crew morale, especially considering the stress of the previous mission.”
"You know while I'm here, why don't you stop by my quarters when you have a free moment," Thompson suggested, causing Megan to freeze. Not knowing quite what to say, Commander Garrett struggled for words, causing Tamara to quickly amend, "...not a counseling session, Commander, just dinner, just us girls, painting toenails, bad holo-novels..." she added jokingly, and even though the last bits had been in jest, the whole suggestion made the First Officer quite nervous. "What'd ya say?"
What could Megan say…she wanted out, badly, but it was hard to think of a reply that wouldn’t make that rather obvious. “Well…as I said I do have a lot of work to do, Commander. A First Officer’s job is never really done... Oh look, I think I’ll take this moment to offer my congratulations to Nathan. If you’ll excuse me,” she quickly replied while already moving toward the aforementioned no longer dancing doctor.
This reception had clearly become more of a complication than she had foreseen, and now that she saw an opening, Megan was going to try and take it. In spite of what Tamara said, there was no such a thing as a conversation with a counselor where analysis wasn’t involved, and even if that were true, she certainly wasn’t the girl’s night type. Whether Lieutenant Commander Thompson’s intent was social or psychological neither appealed to Commander Garrett in the least. “Nathan,” she spoke up, stepping over to him and offering him a warm smile. “Congratulations.”
