NEW BUSINESS
1. Duties and role of the CCS Chief:
With the selection of a new CCS Chief it was decided to look for ways to best utilise the position. After a discussion on past uses and the thoughts of the new CCS Chief it was decided that starting up the Section 47 newsletter again as well as looking into taking over the duties of Inspector General. Admiral Drew also suggested that site polls be reintroduced, and Admiral Lin mentioned the role that CCS has to play in the maintenance of the relaunched Section 47 wiki. It was also agreed that the Fleet CO might be able to contribute towards the newsletter and any matters connected to the fleet. Another suggestion was that the duties of the Returning Officer now be carried out by the CCS Chief.
It was agreed that no vote would yet be called on these duties and that by way of breaking herself into the role the CCS Chief would be able to select which duties to carry out at the moment.
2. Motion Two: Selection of Jr. CSS Officers
Admiral Drew reminded the CSS of the process for recruiting Junior CSS Officers. Voting CSS members are free to appoint their own department assistants without the need of CSS approval, although it is expected that CSS are consulted on the selection. The appointment of the following positions does require CSS approval by way of a majority vote in meetings:
Academy Commandant
JAG Chief Justice
Boards Manager
Returning Officer
Inspector General
Notetaker
Fleet CO
3. Motion Three: Academy Commandant
The role was looked at in terms of how effective it has been since it was brought back three months ago and how it can be expanded now a new one has been named. It was decided that the AC will work with the Recruitment Officer to better help advertise the site. The already established duties of Academy Commandant were discussed and once again confirmed. It was mentioned that the introduction documents held on site are currently outdated and it was agreed that the Academy Commandant would look into updating these, consulting with Fleet Admiral Mccormick for guidance. There was a discussion concerning where the position sits in the site structure, but no consensus was reached, as such the Academy Commandant remains unconnected to any department, but it was stated that both the Personnel Officer and Site Executive Officer are in a position to help and support the Academy Commandant.
As this was only a discussion no Vote was held.
Admiral Drew left shortly after this motion, and Fleet Admiral Lin assumed chairpersonship of the meeting.
4. Motion Four: Personnel Reports
The topic of how to better keep track of site activity was raised, this included current levels of membership on individual ships and losses of members. The Fleet CO and Academy Commandant offered to more regularly, this along with the updates already given by the Personnel officer would better help give a sense of which ships would be in most need of members and which ships will be a priority for recruitment drives undertaken by the Academy Commandant and Recruitment Officer.
As this was a discussion no vote was held.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
A brief discussion on ways to improve the site were discussed it was decided to hold the topic over until next meeting when CSS members had more of a chance to research some of the raised topics.
The two main topics were briefly discussed, the possibility of Adding simming by SMS to our repertoire and revamping the look of the boards.
