Commodore Loskene was sitting in a comfortable chair in his quarters, reading a mystery novel. He quite enjoyed them since his earliest days on Earth. He was about to get to the part where the murderer is revealed to be the wife of the man when... *Beep Beep Beep* Bridge: Sir, incoming message from Starfleet command, addressed to you. Loskene: Alright, patch them through. Starfleet: Commodore, thank goodness your there. They should be intercepting you shortly. Loskene: Who? Loskene felt the ship rock and nearly fell off his chair. Loskene: What the hell? Bridge: Commodore, an Akira class ship, the USS Ramstein has just passed us at warp 9.9 and opened fire. Our engines are disabled! Loskene: Stand by bridge. Starfleet: I suppose it has passed you...the Ramstein. Loskene: Yes it just did. Starfleet: Damn... Loskene: What's going on? Starfleet: Sorry I didn't give my name, I'm Admiral Ito. The USS Ramstein is being commandeered. Loskene: By who? Ito: We don't know names yet, but they have escaped the hospital at Starfleet research. They were genetically engineered at an early age. We don't know why they escaped... But they have and we must stop them at all costs. Loskene: I'm guessing they have made upgrades to the ship? Ito: I believe so. And that's why it is important to stop them. We don't know what they will do... I want you to intercept them and try to stop them in their tracks. But be careful, we don't know what kind of upgrades they have made to the ship. Loskene: Understood sir. Ito: We are sending over two experts, Commodore. Loskene: Experts? Ito: Yes, they will be on your ship in less than an hour. Loskene: ...Understood. Ito: They are also genetically engineered. They have volunteered to help. Loskene: I await there transport. Ito: Good. Ito out. An hour later... T'Ale: So these experts...they are also from the hospital? Loskene: Yes they are. I hope they will be able to help. They have helped Starfleet before. T'Ale: Sounds logical. The transporter engaged and two men stepped off. One was tall with a mustache, and the other was short with white, balding hair. Man: Didn't I tell you? I knew Starfleet would ask us!! Hm hm hm hm! Man 2: You were right Jack. Man: Ah, you must be the Captain of the Jefferson....Loskene! Only 8472 on record! Loskene: And you are? Man 2: I'm Patrick and he's Jack. Loskene: Ah....I've heard of you both... You were immensly helpful during the Dominion war. Jack: Hm hm hm. Ah! I've got it. We need to upgrade! First, engines. Come on Patrick let's get to work! Patrick: Coming Jack! T'Ale: Odd gentlemen... Loskene: I hope they can help... *Jack and Patrick are properties of Paramount and Star Trek.

OFF: Where's the woman? She would have been interesting to work with... lol. BTW: Great mission idea! I love it. ON:
"Unnecessary, yes, yes, completely unnecessary, We do not need security simply because we are genetically enhanced, no, no, not at all." The slight, tall man brushed his thumb and fore finger against his well trimmed beard.
Jack's short companion rushed around after Jack as they both ran in small circles, "Yes, your quite right Jack."
Aral hid a smile, as a 2nd year cadet he had had the honor of being a member of the team escorting the two people infront of him as well as another friend of theirs to DS9. The memory had been a favorite, he remembered watching the instructors trying to perfect everything the trio had spotted wrong.
"Gentlemen, please, its a standard procedure, we are not doing anything because you are genetically enhanced." Aral said trying to keep his straight face.
"How do we know that?" Patrick leaned forward timidly, "We don't have access to that information..."
"Yes, yes, we were denied those records and we don't know your procedure, we have rights, Mr., Mr., Mr....." Jack leaned in close to Arals face. So close that Aral's and his' noses touched, "Have I ever met you before?"
Aral openly grinned. "Cadet Aral Gibson, Class of 2389."
"Yes, yes..."Jack brushed his beard again, "The tall kid with the bad haircut."
Aral was afronted, he had tried pretty hard to forget about that. "I only had that style for a ye-" Before Aral caught himself and forced a diplomatic smile on his face, "Yes, that was me, well gentlemen, we will show you to the bridge, at the moment we are engaged at maximum warp in pursuite of the Ramstein."
"Yes, yes, I know, the floor vibrations are accelerated...."
Aral raised his eyebrows, he didn't feel any vibrations, then he shook it off. "Right. Well this way." The group entered a turbolift.
Aral opened his mouth to direct the turbolift but Patrick eagerly said, "Bridge, please." and then giggled with excitement when it moved.
Ensign Darrel Matthews, one of Aral's security officer's gave Aral a strange look but the Security chief ignored him.
Commodore Loskene nodded at the group as they entered, "We just finished the briefing." He then looked at Jack and Patrick, "Do you find your quarters equiped properly with what you need?"
Jack jumped over the railing on the side of the bridge chairs, "It will do..... for now."
The commodore kept a straight face, very politely he said, "Lt. Pasek and Commander Mc7 of_9 will be happy to update you on the current situation." Loskene straightened his uniform and turned to the helm station, "Lt. Cmdr. Cavit, how long are we going to be able to maintain this speed?"

As he heard his name being called, Mike looked up and headed towards the two men that came to the bridge along with Aral. They were looking very curious, constantly looking around and whispering between themselves. Mike stepped up and introduced himself:
“Gentlemen, I’m Lt. Michael Pasek and...”
“Ah, yes, Lt. Pasek. We received some interesting data about you. Your attempt to destroy a Borg cube using stationary waves was admirable...”, one of the men said, interrupting Mike in his introduction.
“This sounds good.”, Mike thought to himself but he too didn’t made his conclusion before the end of a the sentence.
“... But your failure to realise how to achieve maximum efficiency of the device is simply beyond me. You still have a lot to learn. It was very risky relying on a science officer of your calibre in that situation. For that I admire your captain.”, the man finished his sentence with his face as solid as a rock the whole time. Mike new that he did the best he could that time, but this statement simply made him sad. He almost got assimilated that time along with a lot of his friends. The enthusiastic smile that was on his face just a minute ago, disappeared without a trace. His face was now just empty, simply empty, like those men weren’t even there. Like he despised them.
“If there’s anything you need, just let me know.”, he said and just remained there. Only the presence of the Commodore and the FO and his sense of duty to them stopped him from turning around and walking away.
“Yes, we will. Thank you, Lt. Pasek.”, said the man and gave him a look that said “You are dismissed.”
Mike turned around and headed to his station. Trying to forget his conversation with the men he started a few scans to try and locate the Ramstein. Setting up the scans, he realised that wasn’t going to like those men very much. During his little conversation Mc approached the men too, but Mike was first to open his big mouth so Mc didn’t get his chance to talk until now. Aral, who was standing at his station saw and heard what happened and approached and whispered to Mike:
“Don’t take it personally, Mike. They don’t know what was going on. ”
“Thank you, Cmdr., but really it was nothing.”, Mike said but it was clear that that wasn’t true. He got back to his work and Aral gave him one last look and returned to his station.
OFF: How dramatic, ey?

"6.8 hours sir, thats counting that nothing goes wrong, and on this ship- whats the chance of that?" Strife smirked.
Loskene ignored the latter part of her sentence and turned to their two guests whom were now talking to Mc.
"-No, gentlemen, we are sure our scans are correct!"
"But, these starships are often having malfunctions i hear, on stardate...."
"We do have malfunctions but that is not just a computer flaw, they are isolated occurences-"
Loskene politely interrupted the debate, "Jack, Patrick, do you believe you can increase the engines?"
"Matters what you've already done to damage them...." Jack said rudely.
"Mr. Pasek,"Loskene said stiffly, "Ms. Cavit, since we are short of a Chief Engineer, could you assist these two in enhancing our engines?"

"So, are you going to try to assimilate us into the collective then? Hmmm, hmm?"
Jack said to mc7, as Patrick looked worried.
"I'm not part of the collective anymore Jack, and haven't been for years now. And Patrick, don't worry, if the Borg come anywhere near you, jsut shout on mc7, and I'll come and get rid of them for you!"
With the comment, Patrick smiled at the Jefferson's COO, as mc7 thought to himself he'd gained a new friend.
After Loskene's sugestion, the followed Cavit down to engineering to try to increase the engines.
"I think mc7 just made a new friend,"
Aral said from accross the Bridge.
"They've both been given a really bad break, I think they could both be doing with having some friends. I know where there coming from to an extent. When I was freed from the collective I don't think I could have done it if it hadn't been for the support of my friends and ffamily. The only friends those poor guys have are in the Starfleet Institute where they live. I'd be really please if patrick did call me a friend."
OCC: Hey guys, really sory I've been so quiet lately, as Losk know's, I have relly limited net access while away from Uni (Start back uni Mid feb). Cos of the limited time, posts till then will tend to be small. Sorry again!

Strife led Jack and Patrick to the engineering she passes and Engineer and he stopped in front of her ,
"M-ma'am? " He stutted
This surprsied her no junoir officer ever stuttered in front of her before , her eyebrosw quirked upwards in surprise and she put her hands behind her back and casually stood there "Yes lt ?"
"I...I ..uhh....I lost the navigation reports, I know i was supposed to have those to you four hours ago" He stuttered
"Ohh Carless" Jack said
"Very irresponsable" Patrick said
Cavit turned on them "How about you two leave him alone" Smiling at them sweetly showing them that crossing her was not above anything else a wise idea
"Don't worry about the reports Lt just get them to the second shift then will ya?" Strife said
"y-yes Ma'am" He scurried off
"Lt Pasek? " She said
"Yes Commander" Pasek said
"Lets get moving we have a lot to do, so come on slowpoke and bring giggles and chuckles with you to the main plasma relay"
"Yes Ma'am"

Commodore Loskene sat nervously on the bridge.
Loskene: Number one, whats the status of the Ramstein?
T'Ale: Unknown, it dissapeared from sensors a short time ago.
Loskene: Our sensors are top of the line, we can scan space from millions of kilometers away...they couldn't have just dissapeared.
T'Ale: Perhaps they have developed a crude cloaking device.
Loskene: There's nothing on that ship they can use to make a cloaking device.
T'Ale: You'd be surprised how ingenius some people can be...
Loskene: .....
Mc 7_of_9: =^=Commodore, Jack and Patrick want permission to tinker with the warp core...=^=
Loskene: Tinker?
Mc: Yes sir... They say they can increase engine efficiency to 98%
Loskene: 98?!
Mc: That's what they say. And they say that if they make modifications we can stay at Warp 9.99 for hours.
Loskene: ...Very well. But don't take your eye off them for a second.
T'Ale: Sir, the Ramstein is moving into Sector 576...
Loskene: That's on the edge of Tholian territory.
T'Ale: The Tholians are extremely xenophobic. If they cross in it will be considered a hostile act.
Loskene: We must hurry. The last thing we need is for this to turn into an intergalactic incident. ...What are they thinking? Why cross into Tholian territory?
T'Ale: We should try contacting the Ramstein again.
Loskene: It's not the Ramstein I'm worried about...It's the Tholians. If they're caught off guard by the Ramstein, they'll be slaughtered. And I shudder to think of the updates they have made to the weapons.
T'Ale: You assume that the capturers of the Ramstein are hostile?
Loskene: We must be prepared for the worst. We must warn the Tholians.
T'Ale: It is highly unlikely they will respond to hails...
Loskene: It's been years since Starfleet has spoken to the Tholians...We must stop the Ramstein at all costs.

Mike was kneeling down with his head inside one of the relay panel boxes. Cmdr. Cavit stood at a console just a meter or two away working. Mike was just making final modifications before he closed the box but, due to him being somewhat angry whole day long, he forgot to deactivate him magnetic depolariser and, when he, carelessly, turned it upside down in his hand, he managed to depolarise the the panel couplings of a small box above his head, with the lid falling down on his head.
“Oh, f... fiddlesticks!”, Mike yelled as he crawled out holding his head.
“Now, now, Lt., swearing won’t get you anywhere. ”, said the Cmdr. with a smile on her face.
Mike sat down next to the opened box trying to get his thoughts straight and concentrate on hi work.
“Lt., don’t be down, it was just a small accident. We must get back to work so Jack and Patrick can get on their way upgrading the warp core.”, said Strife still smiling.
“You are fond of these guys, aren’t you, Cmdr.?”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I mean that their presence doesn’t bug you at all.”, said Mike sitting next to the box, picking up the depolariser and starting to get back to work.
“No, they don’t. Well, at least, I don’t let them get to me. It’s all about attitude, Lt.”, replied Strife without dropping the smile. Mike noticed that that smile just wasn’t coming down from Cmdr.’s face. Looking at her like that, he’s mood started to pick up, bit by bit.
“Maybe you’re right.”, said Mike putting his head inside the box in the wall again, “Maybe I should just take it easy...”, buy this time Mike’s mood was at it’s peak once again. If something isn’t hard its trying to make Mike smile. In a matter of seconds Mike turned back into his usual chatterbox self, cracking jokes one after another. Strife was soon laughing and her and Mike soon had probably the best working atmosphere on the ship. The jokes Mike told were even funnier coming from a guy with his head inside a metal relay box.

Strife moved around checking the plasma relays controls the she took a displacement rod and sealed it into the plasma enjectors and begun sealing it in there listening to Pasek who sounded like he was in the bottom of a pickle berrel.
Patrick came along side her and stood beside her making the neccesary adjustments as the Displacemt rod begun doing it's job , the causually actived it and the she was about to removed the gel packs beside the enjector relays and she felt a hand fall towards her ru mp and then squeezed
She let out shreak and wirld around and drilled patrick as hard as she could in the nose
"Excuse me buster watch where your hands are going" She huffed and walked into the jefferies tube where pasek was who stuck his head out and found patrick holding his nose with bl ood comming out of it.
Pasek shaking his head in disgust he made no move to help him and let his friend jack pick up he comrade
Strife gave Pasek some tubing to help him and she passed Patrick and gave him a dirty look and said nothing and headed up to the main control board and began to bring the mods online while in warp
"Cavit to Bridge where almost ready to bring the mods on line just wating for Chuckles and a pervert to finnish"
"Alright Commander "T'ale said followed a moment of silence and the coughing "Pervert?......Pasek?"
"No not Pasek ma'am ... the geek that came with Jack...and I think his nose might be broken , Strife out"
On the bridge Losekne was trying to hold his laughter in and with Aral she knew exactly what Strife ment by that and T'Ale looked at Loskene "Should i send a medic down?"
Loskene shook his head " No strife wouldn't hurt him that badly until they where finnish we'll wait on that then we might need a security team down there before she s him"

Mike was soon done with his work so he headed to Cmdr. Cavit to let her know. He smiled as he approached her:
“I’m finished.”
“Good. Just to see if those two comedians have anything more to add.”, Strife said with half voice.
Mike stayed for a minute thinking over his next action. He leaned over to Strife casually and whispered something in her ear so no one would notice anything strange:
“Nice punch, by the way. Just to ask you, if you ever plan to finish that, would you leave me a swing or two?”, Mike asked with a huge smile, and Strife just gave him the look.

Aral shook his head amazed, trust it to Strife to punch out Patrick. He laughed.
"Sir," Aral turned to the Commodore, "Engineering reports that the modifications are online."
Loskene grinned, "Ensign Cooper," He said addressing the junior officer that had replaced Strife at the helm, "Take us to Warp 9.99."
Cooper tapped away on her console for a moment, "Increasing from warp 9 to Warp 9.99 ...... now."
"Good. Cmdr. Mc- any response from the Tholians?"
The ex-borg shook his head, "None sir, we all know thats not a surprise- wait!" Mc's head snapped to his console, "They're responding!"
A grin spread across Aral's face. "Confirmed sir, we have a visual."
"On screen." Loskene straightened his uniform and turned to the view screen.
They all jerked as a red blur, with spots of green and yellow blended into it appeared on the screen. The background was a shade of violet. Only Loskene seemed unsurprised.
"I am Commodore Loskene, captain of the USS Jefferson, we are requesting your assistance."
OFF: anybody else wanta do the honors? Sorry i've been silent lately.

"What do you expect our help with Loskene of the USS Jefferson?" the figgure on screen said.
"A Starfleet vessel has been stolen, and is currently heading towards Tholian space. We want to stop it before it crosses into your teritorry, but fear we may not succeed. We ask that if the vessel does cross into your space we be allowed to pursue it, so we can bring the theifs to Justice." the Commodore replied.
"You want to come into our space, spy on us. Any vessel that breaches our borders will be destroyed. Communications end." With that, the viewscreen went dark.
"Get them back," the CO called to mc7 accross the Bridge.
"Trying to Sir, but there not responding."
OCC: Again, sorry it's short, but not got too much on-line time till I go back to uni on Sat

OFF: No problem Mc. If T'Ale doesn't post by tommorow I will make Aral Gibson Temp XO. I know that Mc is second officer but since he has limited access Aral will be the logical choice for now.
Loskene: Get them back.
Mc: I'm trying sir.
Loskene: The Ramstein will enter Tholian space in less than 15 minutes. How long til we can intercept?
Mc: 30 minutes...
Loskene: Damn.
The klaxons suddenly activated.
Loskene: Red alert? What's going on?
Gibson: A vessel coming from behind! It's the Ramstein!
Loskene: What?
Gibson: It's opening fire on us!
Loskene: Evasive! Hard to starboard!
The bridge shook as the Ramstein opened fire on the Jefferson.
Loskene: Lets hope Jack and Patrick were able to upgrade the shields!
Gibson: The shields are holding but they still outgun us!
The Ramstein dropped what appeared to be debris around the Jefferson.
Loskene: What is that?
Gibson: Scanning...Spatial mines. We're surrounded. If we activate engines the energy in the bussard collectors will attract the mines, and we're dead!
Loskene: Hail that ship.
Mc: No response.
Loskene: Fire at their engines!
The Jefferson fired several torpedoes, one of them struck a mine, causing the Jefferson to shake out of control.
Gibson: I wouldn't try that again. We almost spun out of control! They're firing some sort of torpedo.
The Ramstein launched a powerful looking torpedo. It penetrated the Jeffersons shields, hitting the hull.
Loskene: What was that??
Gibson: Some kind of transphasic torpedo!
Pasek: Bridge, This is Pasek in Engineering, we've got problems down here!!
The Ramstein went into warp, leaving the Jefferson wounded, surrounded by mines.

OFF: Understood Commodore, I'll be ready if i am needed.
ON:
Aral's fingers went into overdrive as they raced across the console, "Damage reports coming in, Commodore! There was a hull breach- deck 5, emergency teams have sealed it." He paused reading the reports, "18 injuries reported, 3 serious, no casualties reported yet."
"Thats something." Loskene muttered to himself. "Mc! What can you do about these damned mines?!"
"Working on it sir!"
Aral tapped his combadge, "Gibson to Pasek- whats it like down there?"
A bit of static came through before it cleared up, "We've got some damage to the port nacelle from that mine, minimal but it's going to take a while to get up again, it would be easier if we had a real chief engineer..." and the rest of what Mike said was either blurred, or to quiet for the combadge to pick up.
"Understood. We're going to try to fix this u-" and then a huge explosion filled the communication.
"Pasek whats going on down there?!" Loskene shouted,They just heard the explosion again.
"Strife to bridge. Pasek's down! His console exploded... he's coming to....." a pause, "Burns to his left arm, and it looks twisted too, dear god..." Then in the background, "I'm fine, i'm fine, let me up, we got to get the port nacelle running! Jack! Get away from that station!" Strifes voice again- "He seems fine Captain..."
"Commodore, requesting permission to go assist the team in engineering." Aral said. He might not be an engineer or a scientist but he was a starfleet officer so he knew somethings.
"Granted. Davies, take Aral's station." Loskene shouted as he opened a communications link to sickbay.
Aral headed for the turbolift.

It was chaos in engineering.
Smoke tried to choke Aral when he stepped into the room. Slowly his eyes adjusted and he saw several people lying on the floor, injured.
Aral made his way over to the warp core. It looked stable. Pasek was standing at a console along the wall of the room, he was trying to concentrate on the console but one arm was in a sling. A medical officer must have helped him. Strife and their two guest were standing on the upper deck, Jack had his head inside wall, and he seemed to be doing some important repairs.
"You all right, Mike?" Aral said stepping next to the Science officer.
"Yes." Pasek winced, "The damage looks worse than it is."
"Your arm?"
"The ship."
"Right." Aral supressed a smile because of the situation. "The warp core is fine, what happened to the work Jack and Patrick did to the engines?"
"Its damaged, but not badly, if we get the impluse engines functional that should only take a minue to repair, but they also have to finish it, they weren't quite ready yet. But they should be finishing up there soon." He gestured to the secondary deck.
Cavit climbed down the ladder and came over to them. "We've sealed that damaged fire extinguisher. You'd think those people engineers at starfleet would be able to make a object that doesn't break during an emergency. Don't they think we have enough to deal with?"
Aral noticed that the smoke was starting to clear, apparently that hadn't been smoke, it was the damaged extinguisher they were talking about.
Mike grunted and said, "There's something blocking power between section 4 D and engineering, the warp drive won't work even if we get that nacelle working. I'm going up to 4 B, thats the most likely place where the power's been stopped."
"No you're not." Strife grabbed Mike's uninjured arm, "You can't go climbing through jeffries tubes with a broken arm!"
"I can too." Mike gave her a sarcastic grin and headed off but she held him back.
"Give instructions to Aral, You're the closest we have to an chief engineer, you have to direct things down here, and i have to watch Jack and Patrick, make sure they don't damage anything and to watch what they're doing so we can understand what advancements they are making to the engines."
Aral looked at Mike, "Just tell me what to do."
Pasek gave him a PADD somewhat reluctantly and Aral walked toward a jeffries opening.
Inside it was stuffy, the air circulation system must have been damaged. By the time Aral had crawled up to Section 4 B, his knees felt raw.
Looking at the PADD, he opened up a panel, immeadiatly recieving a electrical shock. Aral blinked for several seconds. Then he clenched and unclenched his fists. Everything seemed so work still, he was lucky that hadn't been a more powerful shock.
Inside the panel was completely fused, it sparked at him. Neon colors were flowing through tubes and two of the tubes had melted to gether and turned a gross color of sickly brown. At the bottom of the console there was something, it looked like some sort of tool. Carefully the unexperienced officer reached inside and picked it up.
He recognized it as a laser cutter, it was a security tool for opening doors that had been sealed using advanced codes. It was also an engineering tool and Medical tool used for insisions in the skin.
It shouldn't have been there, Aral suddenly had a omnious feeling come over him. Someone had tampered with this panel. At that moment he was hit over the head with a metal object. He cluttered to the bottom of the Jeffries tube.
The skinny figure who had struck Aral knelt next to him for a moment, "You shall not stop us, We shall bring all who are more intelligent than you into our light. Jack and Patrick will join us. We will be free." With these whispered words the stowaway crawled away.

Are you alright? Gibson: I just got a bump on my head. I'll be fine. Loskene: Report to sickbay Commander. Mr. Pasek, I have a special job for Orko... OFF: Time to put Orko in action, Michael.

The main doors of sickbay opened obligingly as Commander Gibson walked through them holding the back of his head and wincing. He stared at the mess that the room was in as a young boy in a blue medical overcoat darted about from patient to patient. He watched with curiosity as the young Trill, his left arm in a sling, tried desperately to juggle a tricorder, various hyposprays, and a dermal regenerator with his right hand, the commander moved over to him and began to speak, “Can’t say I’ve seen you here before young man” “No sir I haven’t been here long” began the young Trill as he finished examining the engineer that led in the bio bed just to his right, “I arrived around about the same time as those two, ummm” he looked for the right word, “Unique gentlemen.” he finished off, “And just who might you be?” questioned the commander “Oh, where are my manners, Acting Ensign Jonathan Nicholls sir” he out stretched his right arm to shake the commanders hand but then retracted it noticing it still contained his tricorder, “Oh if you’d like to sit on one of the beds sir I’ll be over in a minute”
Aral took a seat and continued to watch the somewhat strange young man as he darted back and forth doing the best he could seeing as all the other medics had left to attend to other injuries around the ship, he had jet black hair, cold icy blue eyes and the palest skin Aral had seen in a long time, “Just a suggestion Doctor but why don’t you try activating the EMH?” commented the commander, doing his best to break the silence of the room, Jonathan merely grinned at him before clear his throat, “Computer, activate the EMH program” he instructed as the Holographic doctor emerged before them, “Please state, please state, please state, I am a medical emergency” garbled the hologram, “Ah I see” mumbled Gibson, “Must have been damaged during, well what ever it was that happened to the ship, all I know is that it shook somewhat violently” “Please state, please state” continued the EMH, Jonathan frowned, “Computer deactivate the EMH program” he ordered as the hologram disappeared, “Damn thing will put me out of job” muttered Jonathan before snapping his tricorder shut and moving over to Gibson, “Now commander what can I do for you?”
The commander sat perfectly still as the Acting Ensign continued to scan where he had been hit over the head, Arals eyes moved down to his sling, “I hope you don’t mind me asking but what’s wrong with your arm?” “Oh that” chuckled Jonathan, “The main reason I was transferred from starfleet academy, I had had enough of these lads calling me mummies boy, just because I do actually pay attention to what she tells me, anyway the other day I lost patience and lashed at the nearest one, not paying a blind bit of notice who I had hit, only to find out that it was a Klingon.” Jonathan paused, “I’ll let you figure out what happened, either way I’m not to apply pressure to this arm until the torn muscle fibres knit back together.”
Jonathan closed his tricorder shut once again and sighed as he moved in front of the commander, “Nothing serious sir, in fact there’s no point in me bothering with it, it’ll just be bruised in the morning that’s all, I can give you something for the pain though.” Gibson nodded in agreement, “Right then on your way commander” instructed Nicholls as he returned the hypospray back to the table, “I have patients to attend to and an EMH to fix.”
Gibson thanked him once again before he turned to leave but turned back, “You are going to repair the EMH?” “Yes sir, oh I see what you mean I’m only a doctor. My brother was the USS Fang’s chief engineer nearly ten years ago, he’s taught me a lot over the years, he did always say that I should have been an engineer, I was quite good at, well that’s what he said.” “Is that right” pondered Gibson.

Commander Gibson returned to the bridge, looking a but fatigued.
Loskene: Welcome back. How's the new CMO?
Gibson: First impressions...A bit clumsy, but he does seem to have extensive medical knowledge on um.... Torn fibres in arms...
Loskene stared at Gibson, confused.
Gibson: Well, anyway, He gave me something for the pain, and I feel alot better.
Loskene: Good. Now, let's see how Mr. Pasek is coming with Orko. (OFF: To Mr. Nicholls, Orko is Michael Pasek's robot. Cool huh?)
At that moment, Lt. Pasek entered the bridge.
Loskene: Ah, I was just about to contact you. Is Orko good to go?
Pasek: Luckily he wasn't damaged in the attack.
Orko hovered off the turbolift and onto the bridge.
Loskene: Hello Orko.
Orko: Good afternoon, Commodore Loskene. I have been briefed on my mission. Exit ship via shuttlebay, Scan mines and search for method of nuetralization.
Loskene: Correct Orko. Remember, don't get too close.
Pasek: He'll be fine Commodore. He'll be able to scan them from beyond the mines arming range. With his unique scanning abilities, he should be able to find some thing that will be able to disarm the mines.
Loskene: Very good, proceed ASAP, Mr. Pasek.
Pasek: Yes sir.
Loskene: =^=Loskene to sickbay=^=
Sickbay: =^=Sickbay, Nicholls here sir!=^=
Loskene: First off, welcome aboard. Unfortunately further introductions will have to wait til later. I want sickbay on yellow alert, just incase we fail to nuetralize the mines...and God Forbid one of them detonates...
Nicholls: Thanks for the welcome, and understood sir!
Loskene: I know about your arm injury, would you like an engineering team to come down there and repair the EMH?
Nicholls: ...I'll be fine sir.
Loskene: Understood. Loskene out.

OFF: Welcome aboard Mr. Nicholls! Finally a doctor! I didn't know what I was going to do without a doctor! lol
ON: Aral rubbed the back of his head, it didn't hurt much thanks to the painkillers their new doctor.
"Cap'n."
Loskene looked up, "Yes, Commander?"
"Requesting permission to assemble a team to search for the intruder. I obviously didn't do too well in engineering." He rubbed his head again.
"Granted, try not to get yourself knocked out this time." Loskene smirked at him.
"No promises." And with that Aral left the bridge leaving Pasek and Loskene to deal with the mines and Orko. Gibson wondered a moment about how Strife was dealing with Jack and Patrick. It didn't seem like such a laugh anymore. Now that he had been knocked out by a stowaway, it looked a lot more serious.
The newly promoted FO strode into the Security Office next to Lt. Henderson. The left side of her face was burnt but she wasn't even wincing.
"You should get that checked out, Molly." He said.
"I tried," she spoke through her bleeding lips, "Its a bit packed in sickbay, and i thought i'd try later and be some help down here."
"I don't like that, Lt.."
"With all due respect, sir, I don't really care."
Aral blinked, she had never snapped at him before. "I'm telling you, Molly, get that checked out soon."
"Yessir." She said reluctantly. Aral breathed deeply, even his own security team was losing it a bit, they need some leave. He'd have to request it to the commodore after this mission, if they even finished this mission.
"Where's Matthews?" He asked a ensign sitting at a desk shifting through a pile of PADDS urgently.
"Somewhere here sir. I'm not sure, I think i saw him a second ago."
He spotted him, "Darryl! Over here!"
The eager, black haired ensign came over. His young face was creased with a frown, "Yes sir?"
"Help me with this. We've got a intruder onboard."
"Aye." Matthews walked over to a side console, "I heard you got knocked out from Lt. Pasek when he was going to the bridge, so I started a scan of the ship. It's just finishing now." He paused and tapped on the console and then looked at the Cmdr., "We've got one too many people onboard, Cmdr."
"Where?" Aral frowned deeply.
"Somewhere between decks 4 and 5."
"You mean he's in the Jeffries tubes?" Aral's hands moved instinctivly to his head, "I wasn't looking forward to another bit of time in there." He just stood there for a moment, considering. "Lets go."

"A bit futher sir."
"What?!" Aral jerked back and hit his head on the top of the tube. Matthews' voice had startled him. Groaning he clutched his head, "I'm beginning to hate Jeffries Tubes."
"Yes sir." Darryl replied obediently. "As i said before you hit your head- The signal is a bit further ahead." Aral nodded and crawled on, the ensign might not do too well with dealing with borg, but he was a good kid.
"Very close, sir." Matthews paused and tapped on his tricorder, "I'd say the next junction at the most. You'd expect they'd be moving along but they're just sitting there."
"Good point, Ensign. We must be cautious. Keep your phaser up, and put that tricorder away for now."
Darryl slipped the tool into his belt and pulled out the phaser. When they reached the junction they both got as best as they could on either side of the opening. Matthews nodded at Aral and the senior officer opened the hatch. They both jumped in. The floor was about a foot down so Aral's knees recieved a bit of shock.
A skinny figure stood in front of them. A tall woman with long, red hair, and pouty lips. "Hello boys." She drew out the words like an elastic band.... she also had a rifle drawn and aimed at Matthews. "Fancy meeting you here." Her name was Lauren and she was the 3rd of the trio Aral at met several years earlier on an academy mission.
"Hello Lauren." Aral said slowly.
"Do I know you then?" She said sweetly, the rifle didn't waiver from its target of Matthews.
"I know you, yes. Would you care explaining to me whats going on?" Aral replied through his teeth.
"First i'd like you both to set your weapons down."
Aral frowned.
"Set them down." Reluctant, Aral nodded to Darryl. They slowly crouched down and set them on the floor.
"Now tell me whats going on." Aral hissed.
She swung her hips over and sighed, "To keep it simple, I'm here for Jack and Patrick. You bring them to me, and this lovely young lad here will be fine." She puckered her lips seductivly at Darryl. The Ensign didn't move.
"Put your gun down and we can talk." Aral suggested calmly.
"No. You will bring them to me and we can all be on our way."
"Well, we can compromise. You set the gun down and I'll take you to them."
"I don't think so. I have placed sensors all around this ship. If you give me away or do something stupid...." She nodded at Darryl. "What's your name, cutie?"
"Matthews."
"Lovely. As i was saying, if you do something stupid Matthews here dies. I'd hate to end the life of such a cute young gentlemen."
Darryl twitched nervously and Lauren turned suddenly at him. Aral lunged.
The rifle and Lauren cluttered to the floor. Aral jumped after the rifle. Lauren was already at it. She tried to kick out at him but he jumped to the side and grabbed the weapon in her hands. She held on tightly and elbowed him in the gut. Matthews meanwhile had grabbed his own phaser and was trying to aim it at Lauren.
But Aral and her were wrestling and he couldn't get a lock, "Sir! Get out of the way!!"
Aral let go of the rifle and spun away from her. Darryl fired, Lauren gasped and then the room was silent.
"Did you kill her?" Aral asked urgently.
"No sir."
"Good work then." Gibson sighed a breath of relief. "Good reflexes, Ensign." Darryl smiled and shivered.
The senior officer tapped his combadge, "Gibson to Loskene. Matthews and I have captured the intruder. We're bringing her in for interogation."
"Her?"
"Yes, sir. Her name is Lauren, and she's a friend of Jack and Patricks. I know you are busy on the bridge but do you want to be a member of the interrogation?"

Mike was standing on the bridge with Comm. Loskene monitoring Orko’s movement around the ship. Mike always believed in his little metal friend, even so much that he would trust his life into his hands... ugh... clamps. But despite that he was afraid for Orko. Neither him nor Orko never saw anything like those mines.
=/\= Entering Shuttle bay. =/\= =/\= Good Orko, continue. =/\=
Orko briefed Mike of his progress over the comm system. Loskene sat in his chair and listened very carefully. The next moment Orko was flying out of the Shuttle bay and towards the mine they decided to scan. Everyone on the bridge was very tense, especially Mike. Not only will the mine blow up his friend if it goes of but it’ll start a chain reaction in the field and blow them all up into bits and pieces. Orko approached the mine to a safe distance.
=/\= Orko in position. Beginning scan. =/\=
Orko’s voice was heard over the comm system. “OPS, give us visual, maximal magnification.”, ordered Comm. Loskene, “I don’t want anything unexpected to happen out there.”
The order was carried out in silence, because everyone was waiting impatiently for Orko’s next move. Mike started to sweat and was very nervous. After a few moments the first results soon came in.
=/\= Scanning complete. =/\= =/\= Excellent Orko. What did you find. =/\=
Mike was glad that this part was over. Now they’ll probably know what they are dealing with.
=/\= Sending information to the ship. The mine’s hull is made of porarium, the triggering device is a standard sensor-rulium detonator for critical mass explosion and the explosive used is rogarium. Probability of misscaning 3%. =/\=
“My God, they’re crazy!”, said Mike after hearing the results. “What’s the matter, Lt.?”, asked the Comm. a bit surprised by this reaction. “One moment, sir, I need to check something with Orko.”, Mike said and addressed Orko.
=/\= Orko, what is the stability factor of the rogarium and is it contaminated with any other compounds? =/\= =/\= Rogarium stability factor 4 contaminated with plutonium. =/\=
Mike turned over to the Comm.: “Sir, I know what those things are. The data Orko sent us and this information confirms my suspicions. Those are the so called “Pikcha” bombs.”
The Comm. looked somewhat puzzled but it seemed that he heard of them before. Mike continued:
“ I saw a few being defused back on Arvada as a kid. The arvadians invented them before they were extinct. 7 of those detonated in the same place on the surface could turn the Earth’s Moon literally into dust. Who ever deployed them probably put them together from the blueprints in the reports from the Arvada missions in Fleet archives, because as far as I know they are not a part of the Starfllet arsenal. Many haven’t even heard of them.”
Comm. Face turned first pale from the news and then green with anger: “So how can we defuse them?”
“Well, I don’t know to much about them. All I know is that they’re activate when rulium comes in contact rogarium, starting a chain reaction. The plutonium is there to destabilise the rogarium and to make sure it brakes down completely, that is into lithium. But Orko should, he used to deploy them while he was a drone on Arwada. ”
=/\=Orko, compare the device to a “Pikcha” mine. =/\= =/\= Similarity 75%. =/\= =/\= Would you be able to disarm it based on the similarity? =/\= =/\= Success probability 70%. =/\=
Comm. and Mike stood there for a moment. This was a big decision: to allow Orko to try to defuse them or not. He had a very good chance to succeed but would the Comm. decide to risk it.
OCC: sorry for not being to active. I have a lot of work on my hands, school and all but i'll give my best to keep up. Nice to have a medic around here! ;D

The EMH was proving to be frustrating as Jonathan continued to examine the parts of the holo-emitter. His headset whirred again as the laser scanned the devices circuit boards, it was decidedly ‘Borgy’, not surprising due to the fact that it was his brother, 1 of 3, who had created it, initially to replace the flash light he used to drag around if the lights had gone out inside of the Jeffery’s Tubes.
The odd looking device was an adaption of the Borg laser implant that was situated next to his right eye, a semi circle band ran across his head just above the eyebrow and a small square object with the laser situated on it was placed in front of his right ear, this would then relay information to a small screen in front of his right eye, he favoured it to the flash light as it gave a clearer image and was useful during covert operations as well as the added bonus of being able to set it so you could see behind you.
“Well its not the circuit boards” he sighed as he inserted them back into their sockets, “Right, next stop the Isolinear chips” he muttered as he began to pull them from their sockets and examined them, he frowned with confusion, “Well you don’t belong there, and you don’t belong in there either, nor you for that matter” he mumbled as he removed all five of the chips and placed them on the floor, “Someone’s been playing silly beggars” he mumbled as he began to place the chips back into their designated sockets. “Computer activate the EMH program” “Please st-st-st-st” garbled the hologram as Jonathan repositioned the chips, “Please state the the the the”, he placed the last chip in place, “Please state the nature of the medical emergency” the hologram smiled as a smug look of self praise came over Jonathans face, “Please run a diagnostic on the condition of my left arm” Jonathan instructed as the hologram moved in closer drawing out a medical tricorder, “Your arm has been broken a three places, two fractures along the forearm, one just above the elbow.” he tapped again at his tricorder, “Since then the bone fractures have been repaired with a dermal regenerator. I would suggest though that you keep off that arm though, just until the muscle fibres knit themselves back together” Jonathan smiled, “Yep your working, so lets get to work”
The EMH, now happily seeing to the patients, worked its way up and down as Jonathan sat quietly in his office sifting through the great tide of paperwork he had been issued with, he was sure that a cadet wasn’t meant to do all this work but it needed doing and no one else was going to touch it, besides it took his mind off how thoroughly useless he felt given the current circumstances. He was no science officer, nor was he a security officer thus meaning he knew zip when it came to mines.
There was a sudden flash of blue light from outside of sickbay as the doctor looked up as claxons began to sound frantically, “Intruder Alert, Intruder Alert” warned the computer as Jonathan quickly delved into his desk drawer, retracting a phaser from inside, he strode out of his office and across sickbay with a certain sense of urgency as the holographical doctor began to open his mouth, “Stay here doctor” Nicholls ordered as he stepped over to the main doors and allowed them to slip open quietly. Jonathan was now shaking he realised as he drew up courage before sticking his right arm out into the corridor and waving it about wildly, nothing happened, “Okay” mumbled Nicholls as he drew himself closer to the door and stuck his head out to scan the corridor.
Red lights still flashed up and down the corridor as Jonathan scanned the corridor with his narrow eyes, he jumped out of his skin suddenly as he caught sight of an intruder before jumping out of the door way, his phaser set to stun, “Don’t move” he instructed as he drew closer to silent, solemn looking young lady that occupied the corridor before a look of confusion befell his face at the sight of hers, “Sarina?”
“It is you” smiled the doctor as moved closer and knelt on one knee next to her, “Do you remember me? Its me Jonathan, I came to visit the Institute nearly a year ago, remember?” The girl still remained silent as she took a step away from him and retracted her head ever closer to her body clutching the PADD she carried even tighter, “What is that?” he questioned, “May I see it?”
The silence of the corridor was almost somehow deafening as Jonathan out stretched his hand, “Please may I see the PADD?” he urged again as he watched Sarina’s eyes scan across the floor a few times before she loosened her grip and handed over the PADD, “Thank-you” he smiled before he stared down at the screen causing his eyes to widen with shock, the PADD contained diagrams, diagrams of the mines outside. He looked up at her with urgent eyes, “Are these the same mines that are outside?” She remained silent as his fingers tapped at the PADD rapidly, “But why, why show us how to disarm the mines?” it suddenly clicked, “Its Jack isn’t it? You don’t want him to get hurt if we make any mistakes” She retracted further into her body at the comments before moving slightly in a way that almost seemed like a nod of approval, but Jonathan knew that wasn’t possible, Sarina never made any acknowledgement to the outside world, “You stay here” instructed Jonathan as he ran down the corridor to the turbolift, “The bridge” he ordered as he stared back down the corridor to notice the young lady was staring blankly at him, he smiled then winked before whispering “Thank-you”
The turbolift doors swished open not a moment to soon as Jonathan hurried over to the Commodore and Lt Pasek, “Lt, stop Orko” shouted the young Trill “Doctor?” he replied seeming somewhat confused before having the PADD thrust into his hands, “You must upload that into Orko, it has step by step instructions of how to defuse the mines”, rushed the doctor before the whole thing sunk in and Mike struck his commbadge “Orko stop” he shouted before talking to the little robot.
The Commodore drew Jonathan over to him quietly leaving Mike to talk to the robot, “Where did you get that from?” questioned Loskene, “From a friend of Jacks” he replied, “And a friend of mine.”

Loskene: ....So this can be emitted from the shield generators?
Pasek: Yes sir, if we extend the shields charged with Risonium, it should disable the mines.
Loskene: Great, get to it.
Pasek: Yes sir. Activating shields..............Okay, deactivating shields.
A long silence drifted over the bridge.
Loskene: ...Did it work?
Pasek: ...I'm not sure...
Loskene took in a deep breath.
Loskene: Ok, Mr. Gibson, fire a torpedo at one of those mines...
The Jefferson fired one torpedo and there was tension on the bridge. The torpedo hit one of the mines, and there was an explosion...but a normal torpedo does that.
Pasek: It worked!
Loskene: Good job everyone. Send my regards to Sarina Douglas. Well, let's not waste any time. Mr. Pasek, position of the Ramstein?
Pasek: They've stopped at the Tholian border sir...
Man: =^=Jack to the bridge!!=^=
Loskene: Who gave him access to the comm system?
The bridge was silent.
Loskene: Yeah what is it Jack?
Jack: First off, tell that wench never to lay another hand on me, I have rights you know! Hm hm hm hm.
Loskene: Jack, this better be important.
Jack: It's Sarina. She was aboard the Ramstein, and was able to beam off. She told us what the Ramstein's gonna do. You should come down to the cargo bay, hear me out.
Loskene: You have the bridge Mr. Gibson.
Gibson: Aye sir.
Loskene was surprised that she was able to get off the Ramstein, well...Sarina was genetically engineered as well, she's clever like the rest of them.
Loskene: Ok, Jack, what's the scoop?
Patrick: We learned things.
Jack: I agree with my colleague, we have learned much. hm hm...
Loskene: Such as?
Jack: The mutants aboard the Ramstein want to acquire a Tholian weapon. A web made of strong, stable energy.
Loskene: Tholian web... It's been around for a while.
Jack: Well they have had over 200 years to perfect the weapon. I'll bet it's much more efficient.
Loskene: With the Tholian web, The Ramstein will be able to incapacitate and destroy dozens of starships at once... But why do they want it?
Lauren: Quite simple. They want to prove themselves.
Jack: Uh hum. Yes. They're angry. They're angry at the world. They feel that if they have the power, they'll be taken seriously.
Loskene: Believe me, we are taking this very seriously.
Jack: They won't stop until the Federation is on it's knees.
Loskene: There's got to be a way to stop em... Jack, can you talk to them?
Jack: Doubt they'd listen. They'll think I'm just another Federation puppet!
Loskene: This is ridiculous. =^=Loskene to bridge, I'm calling a senior staff meeting in 15 minutes. I will brief you on the situation and I need options. Loskene out=^=

After calling the staff meeting the Commodore headed to his Ready Room. Just as he sat behind his desk the voice of his Borg Opps Officer came accross the comm system.
"Sir, we have a priority 1 communique for your from Fleet Admiral Umbago."
"Put it through Commander."
As he said it, the CO thought to himself how this situation could possibly get any worse. The face of an older man of African descent appeared on the small viewscreen on Loskene's desk.
"Commodore, I know your on a priority mission, but this is extremely important. Your Cheif Opperations Officer is being transferred. This is not something that is up for debate, and is a descion that has been taken at the very highest levels of Starfleet."
Loskene looked blankly at his screen. mc7 had only recently come aboard, and since then he seemed to have settled in well. He couldn't think of any reason why he would request a transfer.
"Can I ask why he's being transferred, and also, does he know about it?"
"Suffice to say we're facing a threat that the officer is uniquely qualified to help us with. Obviously you are not to divert from your current mission, but I expect him to be at Starbase Bellicose within 72 hours. You can collect the shuttle he travells in after your current mission is completed. Umbago out"
With that the screen went black.
"Loskene to mc7_of_9, report to my ready room."
