I'm starting this new mission thread. We'll not be shrunk right away. First we'll fly around with the Scavenger a bit and get the anomaly on sensors. Then we launch some probes and discuss the results of that. Next we select the awayteam for the shuttle.
I'm asking some other CO's to see if we can make this a joint mission. Then we can work out how this mission should proceed.
T'Mar was sitting in her readyroom reading reports. After being released from sickbay, she still felt uneasy. Having been turned into a vampire was simply disturbing. She tried every night to deal with it with meditation. But she was not allone with this problem. Several of her crew and her husband had been changed too. Sovek was more immersed into his work and seemed to shut himself off completely from his emotions. Her eye caught a padd with a sensorreport. The ship's sensors had picked up a spatial anomaly which was unusual. She leaned back in her chair. The anomaly was not very far away. She looked down and noticed that her abdomen had become rounder. Where it used to be flat, there was now a clearly visible curve. Then the door chimed. A moment later, Sovek came striding into her readyroom. "Have you read the report I had sent along with Lieutenant Dunsmore?" T'Mar nodded. "Yes and I am considering setting course for the anomaly in the Ceti system. Starfleet does not have much data and research on these specific phenomena. It looks similar to one which the crew of Deep Space Nine has discovered years ago." "You look fatigued my wife" Sovek noted. He even sounded concerned. T'Mar sighed and got up from her chair. "I need some rest. Lately, I have spent more nighttime meditating than sleeping. Meditation has not helped me so much thus far. I shall turn in early this evening." Together they left her readyroom. On the bridge Commander Brianon was sitting in the command chair. Emelye got up as she saw T'Mar enter the bridge. "You can sit down Commander. I am going to take some rest for the remainder of the day. But first I'm ordering to set course for the Ceti system for a scientific investigation. Sovek has handed in his recommendations about the sensorreport and I think it needs investigation." "I'll take care of it Sir" Emelye replied. "You just get some rest" she smiled. "Thankyou" T'Mar replied. "I shall see you tomorrow. We will have a staff meeting at 09:00. My husband shall also attend." She cast a look to Sovek who nodded. "I shall be here" he simply replied. An hour later she lay in bed but it took a while before she fell asleep. Pondering about the past several weeks, she suddenly felt movement inside of her and realised it was her unborn child. Knowing that all was well, she fell asleep instantly.

"Commander Brianon to Lieutenant Dunsmore," said the voice of Emeyle Brianon. The communique echoed around Engineering. "Go ahead," said Luke. He was on his back under a console. It had an ambient light fault. "Is there any chance I can see you in my quarters when we are of duty?" she asked. Luke answered in the affirmative and then got back to his work.
Luke rang the door chime and waited. Emelye took a long time to answer but eventually she did. She looked stunning in an elegant dress. Luke felt embarassed being in his greasy uniform. Emelye smiled. "Please come in," she said. Luke did so. She offered him a seat. He sat down and then Emelye said, "Would you like to stay for dinner? I have a great recipe for pasta programmed in the Replicator". Luke smiled and said, "Sure, Pasta's my favourite!" Emelye smiled again and walked over to the replicator.

Trust was busy doing things around the Scav. He had finished his reports about the vampire situation and was taking a breather on the holodeck. "Computer, load basketball program 4.06." The holodeck changed into a basketball court and several players on each team appeared. Trust had had his earth basketball teamed scanned for the holodeck. Their stats were all loaded to add the realty he knew. It was like they were there with him and not on Earth. The other team was part of the national tournament of Trust's home country. "Time to relax." Trust smiled and went to the centre for the jump ball. An hour later Trust was sweating and breathing hard. He stepped out of the holodeck happy that his amatuer team had only lost by 10 points to the pro team. A female ensign walked past as Trust was wiping the sweat off his abs. She smiled at him and he smiled back. She walked away. Trust was intereted but that would wait until later. =/\= Commander No-One I need you at the helm. There is an anomoly that I want to study and you have to get us there. =/\= =/\= Yes Commodore. Give me a few minutes to get changed, I'm kind of sweaty. =/\= =/\= Was that a joke Commander? =/\= Trust laughed, =/\= No Ma'am, it wasn't. I will be on the bridge in 15. =/\= =/\= Ok see you then. =/\= Trust laughed as he made his way to his quarters to get showered and changed. OOC - Sorry if that isn't how you would talk Commodore

T'Mar was going over some sensordata when Trust No-one appeared on the bridge, wearing a fresh uniform.
"Goodmorning commander. We are going to investigate a rare type subspace phenomenon and i need you to pilot the shuttle. There is one problem however. When you fly into the anomaly, you and the shuttle will be shrunk. You will have to return by the same route in order to regain your normal size." Trust looked at the commodore with disbelief. "Am I really gonna be shrunk in there?" The Commodore nodded. "Hasn't such an anomaly been studied before by Starfleet?" he asked. "Affirmative" T'Mar answered. "But they were attacked by Jem Hadar during that mission. In time of peace, we will be able to collect and process more data quietly." Then Commander Brianon came in. "Well, I'm ready to go sir. Trust, are you coming with me?" Trust nodded and walked after Commander Brianon to work out the technical details of the mission.
(Anyone can join in. Btw, I got a message from Commodore Sonak about Luke being transferred though I have not yet received an official message about it. Luke, do you know more about this?)

Emelye finished her shift and headed back to her quarters. She was tired, but not as tired as the commodore had looked. She sat down with a cup of tea and the Time Machine, but she just couldn't focus. The vampire virus had cause some pretty dramatic changes in character, but she was wondering how much of that was really parts of herself that were normally suppressed. She and Luke had a lot in common, but she would never have carried his unconscious body to her quarters under normal circumstances. But seeing as how she had been rather forward already...
=^= Commander Brianon to Lieutenant Dunsmore =^= =^= Go ahead =^= =^= Is there any chance I can see you in my quarters when we are off duty? =^=
Luke said he would come. Emelye cringed; her nervousness had made her overly formal. She hoped he didn't realise.
Emelye went to her wardrobe and started flicking through her clothes. She was normally a bit of a tomboy when it came to dressing, but that wasn't quite the impression she wanted to make. She pulled out her one formal dress. Normally dress uniform sufficed and she had almost forgotten she had this dress. It was long and slinky and its purple satin was slightly darker than her hair. Putting on a pair of black strappy heels made Emelye quite tall, but not quite as tall as she knew Luke was.
She programmed the replicator with her favourite spaghetti marinara recipe and replicated a bottle of wine when the door chimed. Emelye's heart fluttered as all the nerves returned. She took a deep breath and answered the door. Luke had obviously come straight from his shift, but he looked great. Emelye knew he was most at home doing his work.
Luke took a seat and agreed to stay for dinner. While Emelye grabbed the pasta from the replicator Luke noticed the Time Machine sitting on the table. Soon they were talking away about the books they both loved. Dinner seemed to fly by and they had soon both finished eating. As Emelye cleared away the plates there was a lull in the conversation.
"I'm sorry about infecting you with the vampire virus. I wasn't myself." She looked at what she was wearing and laughed nervously.
"That's ok." Luke placated. “You are yourself now though, aren’t you?”
Emelye assured him she was as she stepped in towards him, praying that he was thinking of kissing her and that she wasn’t making a fool of herself.

Just as Emelye leaned in, a voice rang out, "This is Commodore T'Mar to Commander Emelye, the shuttle is prepared for launch. Please assemble a team. Commander Trust will meet you there". The disbelief of the bad timing lit up in Emelye's eyes. "Wanna come with me?"
"Shuttle Endevaour, you are cleared for launch. Activate your thrusters now". The doors of the shuttlebay parted and the shuttle Endevaour glided out. Trust was at the helm, Emelye was at Science and Luke sat at the Engineering console. "Trust," Emelye said. "Could you go into the aft section and find some spare sub-processors? The subspace eddys in the anomaly could blow out some of them. Trust nodded and headed for the aft section. As the door closed behind him, Emelye turned to Luke. "Look," she said. "I'm sorry about what happened last night. I wasn't..." Before she could finish, Luke was already kissing her. As the feeling of complete heaven swept over Luke the shuttle shook violently. The two parted and tried to compose themselves as Trust walked in. "What was that?" he asked. "I'm reading subspace disruptions all around us," Emelye said. "I think we are near the Anomaly". Trust confirmed her analogy. "It's 300 million kilometers off our port bow". The shuttle turned and headed for the anomaly. Trust went to full imulse and before they new it they were there. The shuttle shook violently again, and the crew were knocked around. A shower of sparks illuminated their faces, and a white light swept over them as they entered the anomaly.

Indeed we can do better. I'll send another request for new crewmembers soon.
T'Mar was sitting on the bridge, waiting to hear from the shuttle. "Scavenger to shuttle Keppler, what's your status?" "We're in the anomaly now" Emelye answered. "We're beginning scans." T'Mar nodded. "Very well. Please report back in an hour. I think we are all curious about the data you're collecting." Emelye grinned. "Well I'm pleased to tell you we're only a few millimeters tall now." As long as the shuttle would travell the same way back, they would return to normal size. T'Mar went to her readyroom for a cup of tea. After a while Sovek walked in. "You look quite fatigued my wife" he said. "I am well" she answered. "But I do feel wearier every day. It is true I am working too hard. When Commander Brianon returns, I shall tell her she will have to spend more time on the bridge to help me. I shall rest more." A while later T'Mar sat dozing in the captain's chair and was a bit startled when Emelye called in.
(We have to get some more people involved here. I'm going to contact some others)

Sovas was standing at his console, monitoring the nebula. There were a few small disruptions with the tactical station, mostly caused by the nebula, but none that would hinder the readiness of the ship. Nevertheless, Sovas tried to compensate for the disruptions.
Commodore T'Mar: Ensign Sovas, I hear much beeping from your console. Is something the matter?
Sovas: Not at all Commodore. I am just making sure everything is working within reason.
T'Mar: Very good. Please let me know if anything important occurs.
Sovas: Of course.
OFF: I'm back, after being away for a while because of things happening in rl. Anyway, sounds like an interesting mission.

Emelye busied herself setting up all the sensors. There was quite a lot of data to collect. She wondered how being shrunk was going to affect the sensors, and for that matter themselves. "Luke, can you set up some diagnostic checks to make sure that the sensors are still working properly under this different environment? I am going to start bio scans of the three of us. We can compare them to are medical exams and transporter data to see what affect this anomoly is having on us. Trust, you're first."
Emelye and Trust head to the back room where Trust could lie down to be still for the scan. "Now this is a fairly detailed scan, so it is going to take about half an hour," Emelye informed him. Emelye set up various medical scanners, stands and recording equipment all around Trust. "I hope you not claustrophoic," she cajoled as she made her way back to the front of the shuttle to check on the rest of her sensors. She was in a noticebly good mood.
"Trust will be scanned for about half an hour" Emelye informed Luke. "I'm not a doctor, but my background in xenobiology comes in handy sometimes" she winked at him. "Now that everything is set up, what am I going to do for the next half hour?"

Trust lay there being scanned. He was bored... a lot but for the advancement of science he complied. He wasn't claustrophoic and had spent several hours in a coffin once after a party went bad. Trust started to get a cramp in his leg.
"Ahh Commander Emelye am I able to move a little, my leg is cramping."
"Not really. Just bare with it. It will be over in 10 minutes."
"Ok if you say so." Trust closed his eyes and tried to block out the pain. His leg was aching now but Trust thought about things other than the pain. With 5 minutes to go the pain was unbareable.
"Commander I don't think it's a cramp anymore. It hurts too much. How long is left?"
"Just a few more seconds and you will be done." Trust was in agony and couldn't hold out much more. There was 10 seconds left, Trust was sweating trying now to move.
The scans finally finished and Trust moved his leg. Slowly the pain went away, he tried to walk on it but it was weak, the blood had not returned yet.
"Sit down a bit. You will be fine. I'm going to now go over the results of the scan. Thank you for your participation Commander." Emelye smiled and went to work.
"Yeah no problem, anything for science." Trust moved his leg around and could feel the blood returning. He stood up and fell slightly to the left.
"Ahh Commander is this normal?"
"What's normal?"
"You look lopsided. Infact everything is crooked. I think my left leg is shorter."

T'Mar had received a report from Emelye. Everything was going well and she found the incident with Commander Trust amusing yet disturbing. After she had reviewed the data, she went to bed to have a long night's sleep. But she had almost made it into her bed when a private message came in which was marked urgent. When she opened it, the only thing she got was garbled noise and an undiscernable view on the console screen. "Bridge, check the origin of the message" she said after tapping her commbadge. "The signal has been routed through several stations sir" a woman replied. She was a young Bolian officer. "But I've been able to pinpoint the source nearby, but we can't find any other ship on sensors." "There has to be another explanation for this. Maybe we cannot pick it up in a normal sensor sweep." "Sir, I've done some further scanning and I did find emissions that could have come from a cloaked vessel. I will need to do more scans to find out more." T'Mar got up from her bed and reached for her uniform, which was getting tight around the waist. "Go to yellow alert Lieutenant. I am on my way to the bridge." Her husband came in and protested that she should rest but as Commander Brianon was off ship and the size of an ant, T'Mar had to be on the bridge in these situations. Meanwhile on the alien ship the atmosphere was tense. "How long untill the leak in the fuelsystem is repaired?" the commander asked his chief engineer on the comm system. The engineer was working as fast as he could. "A moment sir. But I doubt they have seen us. Starfleet vessels do not usually scan for these of emissions." "They do not appear to have seen us sir" his weapons officer added. The commander frowned. "Starfleet captains can be quite cunning. We will wait and see if they know where here. Was any signal sent out when we tested the subspace relay system?" "No sir, no connection with the starfleet vessel and us has been logged. We will take them by surprise" the communications officer replied. A powersurge during the test caused a controll system to slip for a moment just as the signal was received by the Scavenger. Aboard the Scavenger, T'Mar contacted the awayteam to check on their progress and how soon they could return. (I think it would be nice if you all returned ant size so we'll have a little dillemma. Meanwhile, these strangers won't sit still )

Ater contacting the awayteam, T'Mar turned to Sovas. "How are sensors and weaponsystems? I believe you have experienced some minor malfunctions?" "Yes" Sovas answered. "I cannot explain it but everything is working normally now. I will keep an eye on it sir." T'Mar nodded and sat down again. "That message that was sent to me worries me. Something is going on and we need to know what. Tell me if you find anything suspicious." Sovas acknowledged. (I'll see if I can post some more tomorrow. Sovas has returned and I hope you will participate all you like . It's been a few days people and the longer the sim halts the more difficult it usually is to pick it up. You could do more with the aliens (wondering who they are?

Sovas was keeping a very close eye on the weapons and sensors. His eyes barely left the console. After a few minutes of it, he began to grow tired. It had been a difficult day. But more then that, something felt wrong. Sovas had not meditated since a couple of days ago and he tried to convince himself that it was the problem...But his Vulcan instincts told him otherwise.
Sovas took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a few moments. He opened them slowly, his eyes fixed on the console. He swore he saw a glitch in the sensors, it appeared to be a tiny blink of light.
Sovas watched again for it, but it did not appear again. "I must have imagined it...But I should inform the Commodore of it." Sovas cleared his throat.
Sovas: Ma'am, Although I cannot be too certain, I believe that we should boost power to the sensors.
T'Mar: Is there a problem Lieutenant?
Sovas: I am not sure. I believe I saw something on the sensors. I cannot confirm or deny that now...

"Sovas, if there is something out there, we must know about it" T'Mar replied. She walked over to his console. "See if you can improve on sensitivity a bit and run a wider range of scanning modes. Maybe something more definate will be picked up. Since I have received a strange, phony phone call, as Humans might put it, we must be on our guard." <Sovas> (Awayteam, what is going on in that shuttle? Still playing doctor?

Sovas once again went over the console, and increased sensitivity by 5%. He saw nothing.... He decided to raise it to 10%. However, there was no change.
He considered going to 20%, but it would have a drain on other ship systems.
He suddenly thought back to his academy days. He tried to remember what he had done once during a training exercise.
The scenario was: The ship was patrolling Federation territory. There had been rumors of a cloaked Romulan scoutship, spying on an outpost. Sovas was in charge of Logistics. He thought that the only way to protect the outpost, was to eliminate the threat. Thus, he began work on a way to penetrate the cloak.
After much sampling, tampering and modifying ships systems, he managed to find the cloaked ship..... But that was years ago.
Sovas brought the sensors back to standard power. He continued to think about his method over and over again, trying to remember.
He was glancing at the sensors, when again, he saw the small blink of light.
Sovas: Commodore, it has reappeared.
T'Mar got up in an instant and walked over to Sovas's consel.
T'Mar: I am not seeing anything.
Sovas: It was there for an instant, and dissapeared.
T'Mar: How odd.
Sovas: I am starting to give thought to the term "Phony call"
T'Mar: Please elaborate.
Sovas: It seems to me that someone is toying with us.
T'Mar: I agree that it does sound strange...but who would have reason to do this? Lieutenant, I want you to give complete control of the sensors the the computer.
Sovas: But ma'am... Semi-automatic is the most reliable option. With it, I can work in concert with the computer.
T'Mar: Yes, But the computer will be able to record these sensors blips, and analyze them... After an hour or so, I would like you to go over the computers logs and see if it has found any more of these sensors blips and where it has found them. I want to know exactly where the sensors are picking this up.
Sovas: Yes Ma'am, transfering sensor control to the computer.

"Have we been detected?" the alien commander demanded? Negative sir. There is no sign that they have seen us" an officer replied somewhat nervously. "Their shuttle is still in that anomaly they're studying." "We will watch them for another hour, find their weaknesses. This ship harbors a lot of useful technology. That commodore is quite goodlooking. But I will melt her down easily." He looked over to his second in command. "Of course the first officer is yours, a fine price I might say." This was a human man who was quite tall with long hair. "It will be easy to take them by surprise" he grinned. Aboard the Scavenger T'Mar and Sovas were monitoring the sensorreadings. "I have seen a blip in this area. Maybe we should move there to investigate" Sovas suggested. T'Mar shook her head. "No, there is a large chance that it is a ship watching us so we must not do anything to make them suspect that we have seen them. But once we have found something, we must monitor it closely." T'Mar opened a commlink with the shuttle. "Commander Brianon, how is your mission proceeding?" "We have nearly finished our scans. But Luke and I would like to prepare a probe to monitor gravitonic fluctuations in the core of the anomaly." Emelye answered. "Trust is a little grumpy, but he's fine. He told me he has to adjust our course a bit for the return trip to make sure we return normal size." "Very well. But be cautious. There are some pockets mysteriolythic particles around the anomaly." "Sir?" "Just be careful Commander Brianon. Good luck!" Emelye understood the warning. They were not allone in this part of space. (Emelye, Trust, Luke, you've been quiet this week. If there's a problem mail or pm me )

"Oh my God," Emelye screamed. The two watched in horror as the USS Scavenger exploded into thousands of pieces. The light was blinding, and Emelye turned away. A ship had decloaked and had had a massive battle with the Scavenger as Luke and Emelye watched. The decloaked ship was unscathed, but the Scavenger was gone. "Get us out of this anomaly now!" Emelye shouted. Luke ran to the helm and set a course through the needle point of the anomaly. The ship shook violently as it blasted through the vast walls of energy guarding them like soldiers in a watch tower.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded. "Luke," Emelye shouted, "I'm detecting a massive strain on the hull, it seems we're shrinking even more!" Luke realised he had taken a wrong heading. The ship escaped the anomaly, but was now x300 times smaller than before. Emelye was studying scans, looking at what went wrong. Luke gazed through the viewports and noticed something odd. The Scavenger.
(Was thinking we could involve temporal anomalies and such?)
