Spiro was on the Bridge at his Tactical consol, keeping an eye on the increased security personnel he had placed, when he was told that the tractor beam was on.
=/\=Commander Gray to Commander Vassiliou=/\= =/\=Commander Vassiliou here=/\= =/\=Are you aware that the tractor beam appears to be activated?=/\= Aeryn asked. =/\=No, I am not. I don’t understand why it would be.=/\= =/\=Nor do I=/\= Aeryn replied, a little abruptly. =/\=But what’s important is that it’s turned off.=/\= =/\=I agree=/\=Commander Vassiliou said, then went to deactivate the tractor beam. =/\=It should be off now.=/\= =/\=Thank you=/\= Aeryn answered.
This came as a shock to Spiro as there was no warning that the tractor was on. Usually a beeping sound would have come on upon activation, but Spiro heard nothing. He only saw that it was online because Commander Gray had told him.
He started to become a little nervous by what had happened as this may indicate a breach in his security. It had also crossed his mind that there could even be an agent working on the Scavenger trying to get into the Security systems in order to sabotage their current mission. Of course, this was only speculation that Spiro always had to something like this, nevertheless he wanted to investigate why this happened since there was no apparent reason for its activation, it was like it had just switched on for no apparent reason.
Whilst he was looking into the matter, he received a call from the Chief Medical Officer.
=/\=Commander Tintagel to Commander Vassiliou=/\=
=/\=Vassiliou here, what can I do Doc?=/\=
=/\=You still have not come for your physical, could you please come to sick bay now so we can do it?=/\=
Spiro hated going to sickbay for physicals or anything else unless it concerned Security. He tried to think of an excuse to get him out of not going.
=/\=Well actually doctor, I was just on my way when I was told that the tractor beam had been activated withought my knowledge. I am currently investigating what happened, just to make sure that it was not a breach in Security. Because of the nature of our mission, I should complete my investigation.=/\=
=/\=Hmmmm very well Commander, but as soon as its done I want you down here for your physical=/\=
=/\=Well, I feel fine thanks doctor=/\=
=/\=Im afraid there is a little more to it than that. As soon as you finish, report to sickbay. I dont want to have to order you next time Commander!=/\=
=/\=Very well doctor. Vassiliou out=/\=
Spiro was hoping that something else might come up before then which may prevent him from going to sick bay before then. But he knew that the doctor was not going to give up easily.
The Chief Tactical and Security Officer, continued looking into what had happened with the tractor beam, hoping that it was not a Security breach or error.

"New, I'm nut ellargoc tu eny modacushuns, at last nuthang I knaw ov." She said and looked to see what the doctor might prescribe. She watched the doctor work with the hypospray, and wondered how much this would help her. She knew doctors were there to help more than harm, so she didn't worry too much about this.
"Thit's a gud adie, I woll ba bick in a caple doys. Thinks fer the hulp, ductar. Wuw, I dun't fial the shop muving at all new, umizing." She said as she hoped off the biobed.
She had left sickbay and went to her quarters to relax. The turbolift ride wasn't as bad as it had been before. She still felt the lift move, but not as bad as it did. She was grateful for the wonderful miracle of medicines of this century.
She entered her quarters, going for her bag. She unpacked quickly, and then grabbed one of her novels. She settled down with it and began to read, remembering a friend had recommended it.
A little while later, Rela feels the ship shake, and thinks about cursing the doctor. She suddenly is knocked of the couch she was laying on, and she wondered what was going on. She wondered if this was the medicine not working, or something else completely different.
=^Rela tu bradge. Whut ixuctly ez guing un?=^= She said as she called the bridge. She hoped it had been something else, but realized it could be the dosage wasn't strong enough. She wanted it to be the first option.
(bridge)
"I em un my wey, Rela out." She said not liking the report. It could be any of her enemies, and she didn't like it when things changed.

"Do you have them on sensors?" Sethe asked as she got up from the center seat. The ship that she was currently using looked as an old trading vessel, but it was so much more than that. In fact Sethe could change it's appearance at will and change the warp trail as well. Her people wanted the Ambassador dead and they weren't about to half bake this assault on the Hykarrian's.
"Yes we have them on sensors?" the pilot reported.
"Good, tactical activate weapons, I want everything we have aimed at their shield emitters and transmitters," Sethe said," I want Rela alive and I don't want the Federation to know what we are doing."
"Understood."
"How long until we reach weapons range?" Sethe asked getting anxious. She had been waiting for this moment for years and she didn't want to wait any longer.
"Three minutes."
"Good, as the Klingon's say today is a good day to die," Sethe said as she laughed. She was shortly joined by the rest of the bridge crew. They only knew that they were following orders, but they also would rejoice in victory.
"Sethe we are in weapons range."
"Fire at will"

The door of her readyroom chimed as T'Mar was going over some files. "Enter."
In walked Lianna with her dog. Paikea also went inside with them and introduced Lianna. Lianna was clearly unsettled. She paused briefly and continued. "I .... need the dog ... I'm blind and he's my guide dog." She went on to explain, hoping they both didn't end up on the first shuttle back to the starbase.
"No problem Lianna, I have never had a dog on my ship, but I see know problem with it," T'Mar said," I know my daughter would of enjoyed your friend here."
"Thank you Ma'am." She grew silent for a minute not sure what the Commodore meant but decided not to question it. "I'll keep to my quarters and out of the way of your crew." Lianna wasn't sure what she would do while on board the ship.
"There is no need for that, Lianna, if you find something that interest you, please speak to my officer here and he would be more than happy to help you," T'Mar said.
"I don't want to be an imposition Ma'am. I was sent to learn to cope on my own." Lianna frowned, it had been more her idea than her parents and one that had not been totally taken well.
"Well, Lianna if you are going to be here you are will be a productive member of my crew," T'Mar said," you may be disabled by your sight, but I know that your mental eye can tell out some shapes and shadows."
"I will do my best Ma'am." The Commodore was right, her abilities had advanced to allow her to see shades of gray and some shadows if she extended them enough although it was not something she did often due to interfering with others thoughts and emotions.
. "That's what I like to hear, and now if you could excuse me, I have some work to do," T'Mar said hoping that they would take the hint and leave her to her work. Paikea quickly understood this and touched Lianna's arm. "Please follow me."
"Yes Ma'am, thank you." Lianna said as she touched Phantoms shoulder, he rose from his sitting position at her side and turned towards Paikea. "Whenever you're ready Commander."
"Please follow me, Miss," Paikea said as he exited the office.
After they had left, a report came in about excessive powerusage caused by an active tractor beam. This seamed quite mysterious to the commodore and ordered Aeryn to run a full diagnostic in case there might be other active systems which were not required to be at this moment. Commander Vassiliou would do a security check on the people who got on board most recently. Then she went to see her husband and daughter off at the shuttlebay. T'Nala wasn't happy to go away but her mother reassured her they would be reunited quite soon. They were close to Deep Space Nine, but did not have time to make a stop there. So they took a small shuttle to DS9. When they had left, T'Mar returned to the bridge and inquired about the diagnostic.
"Commander Gray, how far are you with your diagnostic?"
<tag Aeryn>
"Very well, how soon can we go back to maximum warp? I have the impression our honoured guest is not very happy with our gentle pace."
<tag Aeryn>
"Then Ambassador Rela will have to be a little patient. It is important that the engines run well. Keep me advised." T'Mar talked with commander Cavit for a bit to update each other on things. Then suddenly a ship fired on the Scavenger.
"Shields!" T'Mar yelled and peered at the viewscreen. "Where is that ship coming from?" she demanded. A ship appeared in the viewscreen. She did not recognize it. "Return fire!"

Aeryn started the diagnostic over when Commodore T’Mar ordered her to, since she supposed perhaps the diagnostic had missed something, or events would have changed since then.
=/\=Commander Gray, how far are you with your diagnostic?=/\=
=/\=I’m about 63 percent finished, so far no anomalies have been found.=/\=
=/\=Very well, how soon can we go back to maximum warp? I have the impression our honored guest is not very happy with our gentle pace.=/\=
=/\=I’m not too happy about it either=/\= Aeryn replied. =/\=It shouldn’t be more than thirty minutes, but it’ll be at least ten. I’m afraid I can’t make it any faster without unnecessarily risking the ship.=/\=
=/\=Then Ambassador Rela will have to be a little patient. It is important that the engines run well. Keep me advised.=/\= T'Mar said.
=/\=Understood=/\= Aeryn answered, and closed the comchannel. The diagnostic had finished, with no further problems, when Aeryn felt the ship shake, and instantly double checked the power to shields and weapons as she could guess that those would be required. She was already busy when the ship went to red alert.
She probably should have ordered someone else to activate the generators and systems, but she felt that she could do it just as efficiently on her own, and then she missed the problem of possibly having miscommunication. She started a level 4 diagnostic, which would take much less time than the level 2 one she had been doing before, but would tell which systems were heavily damaged, the ones that had the highest priority for repairing.
She looked over the results of the diagnostic. They hadn’t taken many hits yet, so the problems were minor.
“Lt. Yamill?” Aeryn asked for the Engineering crew member.
“I’m right here,” Aiko Yamill answered.
“There is damage on deck 6, in upper cargo bay 3.”
“Understood. I’ll go check that out, see what I can do to fix it,” Aiko replied, aware that some potentially volatile cargo was stored there, and the importance that nothing happen to it.
“Thank you,” Aeryn replied, then turned to assigning others to other things that needed to be done.

Lianna had fed Phantom and sat down with a cup of tea and a salad for dinner when the alarms sounded and the ship shuddered from the blasts from the other ship. Phantom who had been curled up nearby was on his feet instantly and at her side, his body pressed against hers letting her know he was there. "What's going on fella?" her voice quivering as she reached around for his harness or leash, both of which should be close. She stood up, the dog whining as he nudged her hand. "Come on." she said grabbing at the table as the ship shuddered again.
With Phantoms help she found his harness which had dropped to the floor with the first blast, and had just managed to get it attached to his collar when a third blast hit the ship causing her to lose her feet and fall, hitting her head against the edge of the nearby coffee table.
She stood up rather shakily, her hand instinctively reaching for the harness. The dog wasn't telling her a heck of a lot, his cold nose and whimpers her only answer to her questions. "There's not much we can do except sit it out buddy." she whispered as she sat down on the floor next to the dog. With the way the ship was rocking she wasn't going to try to go anywhere.
There were several blasts in quick succession which knocked Lianna back against the wall and seperated her and Phantom, a loud crash and a heavy weight across her legs causing her to cry out and gasp in pain, her head hitting the wall behind her.
"Phantom!" then silence ... as Lianna blacked out, Phantom frantically tried to revive her, his tongue caressing her cheek, his whimpers and pawing not recieving any answers from the still form caught beneath the large shelf which had fallen over on top of her.
He continued to try to revive his mistress when his paw hit her combadge opening the link. The sounds of a dogs whimpering and worried barks meeting the ears of those on the other end. This also activated the locater which was integrated into the badge allowing them to know where the call for help was coming from.

Illito was preparing sickbay for casualties when she got a call from operations. =/\=There’s whimpering coming from one of the combadges=/\=
=/\=Understood,=/\= replied Illito. =/\=Any reply from the other end, apart from the whimpering?=/\= she asked quickly.
=/\=No.=/\=
=/\=Emergency transport, lock onto the lifeform.=/\=
=/\=There’s actually two lifeforms=/\=replied the person on the other end, =/\=And one of them is definitely not human=/\=
=/\=Fine. Beam the lifeforms, then=/\= replied Illito, who didn’t really care, and just wanted the patients in sickbay, and since neither of them was responding it seemed likely that both of them were injured. She was surprised when one of the lifeforms was a pet, but she quickly scanned the person and then the dog. She found that the dog wasn’t injured, and tried to separate him from the woman, who was, but the dog resisted. Illito sighed, but it wasn’t worth causing a disturbance, so she let it be, since it didn’t interfere when she ignored it.
The scan showed minor bruising, and a head injury. Illito started on the dermal regenerator for the bruising as she figured out the best way to heal the head injury. She activated the alpha-wave inducer, so there would be no chance of the patient waking up until she was healed. She inserted 10 ccs of Acetylcholine into the bloodstream, because there was otherwise a chance of damaged nerve cells in the brain. Illito then healed the evidence that there had been an injury, deactivated the alpha-wave induce, and waited for the patient, whom Illito couldn’t say she had ever seen before, returned to consciousness.

Lianna groaned as she woke from the drug induced sleep the doctor had placed her in. Her hand immediately going to where Phantoms harnass should be. "..Phan..tom.." she whispered trying to sit up. Her legs hurt, her head hurt ... ".. help .... " she continued before sinking back onto the biobed.
Everything her senses were telling her only added to her confusion. She could sense the excitement and business around her."..where.." she started to speak as she tried once again to sit up. Each time sinking back due to dizziness which washed over her.
She couldn't find Phantoms harness and heard him whimpering nearby. He had retreated when it was obvious that the doctor was trying to help and had stayed out of the way, not moving until he was told by the doctor he could rejoin his mistress.

Katie had just gotten back on the bridge as the ship began to shake. Rushing over to her station Katie relieved the officer who had taken over her post.
"Shields!" T'Mar yelled and peered at the view screen. "Where is that ship coming from?" she demanded. A ship appeared in the view screen. She did not recognize it. "Return fire!"
Katie activated the scanners trying to help the tactical officer get a better idea of what they were up against.
"The computer doesn't have any records of this type of ship that is attacking Commodore." Katie said.

"..Phan..tom.." she whispered trying to sit up. ".. help .... " she continued before sinking back onto the biobed. "..where.."
Illito noticed that the patient was awake, and trying to sit. Illito went over and helped her to sit, and supported the patient, since she had found that when people wanted to sit up, they generally insisted on doing exactly that, and didn’t much appreciate being pushed back down.
“I don’t know who or what Phantom is,” besides a ghost, Illito thought, talking for the sake of having something for the patient to listen to, even though it wasn’t that likely that the other woman would be able to reply coherently to everything Illito said.
<Tag Lianna>
“You’re in sickbay right now,” Illito replied to the ‘where.’ “I’m the Chief Medical Officer, Illito Tintagel.”
<Tag Lianna>
“You should be fine soon, and I’m doing whatever I can to help.” Illito glanced down at the tricorder reading, and frowned. According to this, the patient, whoever she was, was blind. But it looked like something that had been a problem her whole life. Which might explain the dog, since Illito was aware that they were traditional animals for helping the blind get around.
“Come here,” Illito said, gently, to the dog, figuring that it would be better to have him near the person he could help at this point.
<Tag Lianna>
Illito noticed that the patient seemed to be becoming more aware, possibly aware enough to answer a question, though Illito wanted to be careful not to upset or annoy her. But Illito would like to know who the patient was, since she didn’t match any crew records Illito had. “What’s your name?” Illito asked.
<Tag Lianna> -----------
Lt. Aiko Yamill hurried to upper cargo bay 3. “Oh no,” she muttered, not because the cargo was at all dangerous or had anything happen to it; the cargo was fine. But there were a few fried consoles that could pose a safety risk, and that she should fix while she was up here.
Lt. Yamill sighed, and set to work with the necessary tools. Her fingers occupied themselves with the necessary tools for fixing one of the consoles. She didn’t see the little spark that flew out of the console, but she felt it. Aiko rubbed the finger lightly with another finger, as if she could make the slight pain go away, and she went back to working.
Aiko was nearly finished with the first console, when the ship shuddered slightly, and she fell toward the console, and one of the equipment panels fell on her wrist. Aiko’s other hand immediately went to her commbadge. =/\=Lt. Yamill to Commander Gray. I’m injured, so you’ll have to send someone else up to finish the work.=/\=
Aiko closed the commchannel, and then lifted up the equipment panel off her hand, and quickly withdrew her hand from the panel. She glanced at the injured hand, and looked away quickly. But she figured she could still walk, and it was better to use as little power as possible during the battle situation, so she left her tools behind, and walked toward sickbay.

OOC: Okay, I gave everyone a chance to post this little battle so I will take it from here. Some of you might get injuried, but you of course you will decide.
IC:
"Keep attacking, I want those shields down now," Sethe screamed as she stood her ground. The surprise had given them an advantage, but that advantage had been used up. This was a battle of weapons and nothing else and she wouldn't lose this one.
Her bridge at the moment was in dissarray as bulkheads and consoles were littered on the floor, but she didn't pay any attention to this, as long as the Scavenger was disabled it was all worth it.
"Lock on to one of their nacelles, and fire a short burst of phaser fire," Sethe ordered hoping that the strike would do it intended affect. The purple glow of the ships phaser glowed as it hit the ships shields, but she knew that at that very moment the Scavenger's engineers would be reading a rising pressure and unstabilzation in their nacelle.
"There warp core pressure is rising, if we don't stop we will destory the ship."
"I don't......" Sethe said before being thrown from her position. The Scavenger's had fired her torpedoes and they had found their mark.
"Full spread of torpedos, fire," Sethe said as she got herself back up from the floor. The glow of torpedos was a beautiful site to behold, but the explosions that folllowed were even more of a beauty to Sethe's eyes.
"Are there shields down?" Sethe asked smirking as they had won the battle already.
"No there shields are down to 33%, one more hit and that should do it."
"No I want to talk to them," Sethe said," hail them."
"Channel open."
"USS Scavenger, I have no quarrel with you, I want the Hykarian on your ship, send her to my ship or I will be forced to destroy you."

“I don’t know who or what Phantom is,” A female voice said near Liannas side as she helped her to sit up.
Lianna tried to speak as she closed her eyes and focused on the activity around her, "He's ... my dog.." she whispered Her hand once again searching for the harness which wasn't there. She was scared, the voices, excitement and energy in the room overwhelming.
“You’re in sickbay right now. I’m the Chief Medical Officer, Illito Tintagel.” Came the voice again.
"How did you know?" she whispered still searching, this time with her mind for her pet and guide. A low whimper answering her unspoken call from nearby.
"Phantom, come!" she commanded low ... her words still halted and unsure. Although she could tell he didn't move at her command.
“You should be fine soon, and I’m doing whatever I can to help.” Illito glanced down at the tricorder reading, and frowned.
"She felt her legs and whinced as she brushed over the scrapes which were still healing and then touched her head. "I .. was knocked .. out?" Lianna questioned, still not understanding that Phantom had gotten her the help she needed.
“Come here,” Illito said, gently, to the dog, figuring that it would be better to have him near the person he could help at this point.
With Illitos words Phantom raced to his mistresses side, jumping up and placing his front paws on the edge of the biobed. Lianna immediately burying her head in his fur, her fingers caressing his ears and neck as she did, only looking up at the doctors next question.
“What’s your name?” Illito asked.
She nuzzled the dog once more, her hand falling to the harness as he dropped down and sat next to the biobed. "I'm Lianna, just came on the ship from the starbase." How many other people would she have to explain what she was doing on board the ship.

Joint Post between Paikea and myself. "The computer doesn't have any records of this type of ship that is attacking Commodore." Katie said.“What do you mean we don’t have any records of that ship?” Paikea asked as his body almost launched forward as the ship was rocked once again with weapons fire. “This type of ship doesn’t seem to be in our ships records.” Katie replied."How is that possible, the Scavenger received a major information update at Assailant," Paikea said confused at Katie's response. This ship was dissecting their shields and if they didn't respond with more force they would surely be destroyed. "Lt. Anderson can you find any weakness in the ships tactical and defensive systems" "I'm not the tactical officer!" Katie shouted back feeling frustrated by Paikea's words."I know, but as operations officer you have the most advance scanners and we need to know how to defeat them," Paikea said before he was finally thrown over his console and landed hard on the floor. Katie noticed that none of the other bridge crewmembers seemed to notice the back and forth arguments between Paikea and herself. Turning her attention again to her workstation Katie hadn't noticed Paikea had been thrown to the floor.It took Paikea a couple of seconds to get back to his feet, he already knew that he was bleeding internally and he was already coughing up blood, but luckily no one had noticed, they were busy attacking the enemy ship. "Commander Spiro have you found anything new?" Paikea asked. "No, I have not, but as of this moment I think that we should just fire everything we got at them," was his response. "Katie what do you recommend?" Paikea asked her. "The computer just finished up it's scan and I'm sending the information to Commander Vassiliou.”Katie felt another jolt as the ship took more hits. Her station began to flicker and blink at her as damage reports were coming in from all around the ship."Commander when you are ready fire a full barrage of torpedos," T'Mar said as she looked at her senior crew. The next moment about 8 torpedoes were fired and they met their target. The orange explosions were beautful, but that didn't mean anything. "Katie, what are you scans telling you" Paikea asked. "Shields are down to 57% and we have lost our warp engines." Katie announced."Can we survive another barrage of attacks" T'Mar asked hoping to hear good news. Katie took a moment to look over the mass amount of information she had in front of her.
"I think so, just as long as we don't take any direct hits on any major system.""Well that is going to be a problem," Paikea said," the ship is attacking one of our nacelles with a low range of phaser fire, they are trying to destroy our engines." "Engineering status report," T'Mar ordered. <Tag Gray> "Katie can you give us any information on that ship" Paikea asked hoping that the Scavenger's scanners had picked something up. "I'm having a hard time getting the scans to penetrate their hull but...wait a seconds. The computer finally managed to identify this ship." Katie said, "It's a prototype Federation ship that went missing several years ago.""Did you say Federation" Paikea asked acting as if he had heard incorrectly, but he knew that he hadn't. "We cannot worry about that now, return fire," T'Mar ordered, but it was to no avail they were attacked once again. Katie held on to her station as the ship rocked violently from the continued attack. Closing her eyes Katie felt her fears taking over. It was starting to become harder to concentrate and perform her duties with the bridge sparking and exploding around her. The ship rocked hard two more times, her sensors were telling her they were just hit by two Quantum Torpedoes, and then everything went still.
Katie opened her eyes slowly and saw for the first time the mysterious ship that had been attacking them. Katie jumped as he station began to beep at her.
"Commodore, we are being hailed." Katie said."USS Scavenger, I have no quarrel with you, I want the Hykarian on your ship, send her to my ship or I will be forced to destroy you." Everything and everyone on the bridge turned their attention the ambassador on the bridge. They were being attacked because of this woman and none of them knew why. "Why do you they want you Rela" T'Mar asked. <Tag Rela> Katie stood shaking, her hair a mess and her face moist with sweat. She had been looking on with the rest of the bridge crew as they waited for her to answer the simple question. "Answer us!" Paikea demanded, but Rela held her ground. "Commander we cannot win this battle, we need to retreat," T'Mar said not wanting to order a retreat. Paikea understood this and started looking for a way out. "Katie, are your sensors reading a Class 7 Nebula, 45,000,000 kilometers away?" Paikea asked. Katie heard Paikea's voice but it sound as if he was a great distance away. She sound of her heart pounding in her chest slowly became the only sound her heard.
"Lieutenant." Paikea said grabbing a hold of Katie's forearm.
"Sorry, Yes the sensors show the same thing here." Katie replied sounding distant.Paikea didn't know what was going on with Katie at the moment, but he couldn't help her right now. They needed to survive this first. "Commander Spiro fire one last barrage and then helm go as fast as you can towards that nebula," T'Mar ordered," science operations I want you to give the engines all the power that you can." Katie rubbed her eyes quickly and began to pump as much power as she could into the engines. Looking down at her hands she noticed her hands were now shaking uncontrollably. Bringing her eyes up to Paikea, Katie noticed he was sweating hard and holding his left side with his right hand and forearm while he seemed to rock back and forth as he stood in place in front of his station.Paikea did as he was ordered and gave all available power to the engines. It wasn't much, but it should help out. He saw that Katie was shaking uncontrollably, and so Paikea slowly and so no one would know covered her hands with his. "Katie we will be okay," Paikea said as they both felt a surge of energy as the ship launched forward. Katie looked first down at her hands now completely covered by Paikea's hands then up into Paikea's eyes. His eyes seemed to emit hope where Katie felt her eyes were only saying fear.
"I hope so." Katie replied softly. "Commodore the attacking ship's sensors and phasers were taken offline in that last attack, they are pursing, but not at full speed," Paikea reported as he checked his scanners. "We will reach the nebula in two minutes." <Tag all>

"I'm Lianna, just came on the ship from the starbase."
“Ah, the Civilian,” Illito said, and smiled. “Welcome aboard the ship.”
<Tag Lianna>
“You were rescued by whining, I presume it was Phantom, your dog. A comm channel was opened, but it wasn’t directed to anyone, so it was intercepted, and it sounded like someone was injured, and no one responded, so you and the dog were both transported down here. From the looks of the wounds I would say something fell on you.”
<Tag Lianna>
“Can you roll over a little to your left?” Illito asked, as she ran the dermal regenerator over Lianna’s legs. “Does anything still hurt?” Illito asked.
<Tag Lianna>
Illito saw that Lianna still seemed overall okay, but she should probably stay in sickbay for a while longer, just to be sure. Besides, a ship during battle wasn’t the best place for a blind civilian.
At some point Lt. Avel had shown up, since it was a battle situation it didn’t really matter whether he should have been on duty or not. Illito couldn’t say that she was especially pleased to see him, but an extra pair of helping hands was just that, and he was good with the patients.
Illito nodded at him, and noticed someone coming through the door of sickbay. “Call me over if you need anything,” Illito said to Lianna.
<Tag Lianna>
“Thanks.” Illito left to check the damage of the newly arrived. Lt. Yamill held up her right hand, showing the doctor the extent of the damages. Illito gestured for the Lieutenant to sit down on a bio bed. “How long has it been since you were injured?” Illito asked, since the blood that was on the hand had obviously started to dry.
“About five minutes,” Aiko Yamill replied.
“You should have come down to sickbay sooner,” Illito said.
“I couldn’t,” Aiko replied. “I had to walk down.” Since the doctor didn’t seem very pleased with her answer, Aiko hurried onward. “How badly am I hurt?” she asked.
“You tell me,” Illito said.
“I’m not a doctor,” Aiko replied, confused.
“Just tell me how you injured it and how much it hurts.”
“I caught it beneath an electrical equipment panel.”
“Any electrical discharge?” Illito asked. “Probably at least a little. But my hand doesn’t hurt much.”
“That’s good. I’m going to give you a localized anesthetic, then clean out the wound,” Illito explained, since many people found it nice to know what was going on. Illito did what she had said she would, then looked at the dermal regenerator. “I won’t be able to heal your hand completely,” Illito started.
“Why not?” Aiko interrupted.
“Because of the nature of the hand-the dermal regenerator isn’t precise enough to heal it perfectly. At least, not with the extent of damage that you have. So I’ll do what I can with it,” Illito said, as she did exactly that, “but it’s going to have to heal a bit on its own. I’m taking you off of duty for today, but after that you can go back on duty, as long as you take it easy.”
------------
=/\=Lt. Yamill to Commander Gray. I’m injured, so you’ll have to send someone else up=/\=
=/\=Understood=/\= Aeryn replied. =/\=Just take care of yourself, and go to sickbay.=/\=
Aeryn sighed, she hated battles and when people got injured, and the two often seemed to go hand-in hand. She assigned Lt. Mabrey to take over Yamill’s work, and scanned the current diagnostic, assigning people to problem areas. She felt the ship taking continued hits.
=/\=Engineering status report,=/\= T'Mar ordered.
=/\=We’re alive, for now=/\= Aeryn replied. =/\=But I don’t think the ship can take much more of this, maybe three or four more hits. Our warp core pressure is rising, and we have malfunctions throughout the ship.=/\=

Rela couldn't believe it. She knew that voice somehow, but she wasn't sure how. It seemed like she should remember exactly where she heard it or when. She started to rack her mind, and then gave up minutes later when she didn't have an answer.
"I bolave ta bust mave wald be to hind ma avur ta thim. I dun't knuw hiw I knuw thot vyce, bit I waldn't went yar sheep ta be dastrued avor ma. I am sore I cun wark out whitavor it is wuth thim, and thun be on my wey to my humewarld." She said, and hoped she had convinced someone. She didn't want any harm to come to this ship and crew. She hadn't asked to leave earth for this mission. She knew how important it was for her to reach her destination, and she hoped that things would work out.
She heard the response, and realized they wouldn't be handing her over. She didn't like this one bit, and she wondered why they thought it would be best to keep her aboard. She wasn't like the rest of the crew, she wasn't even a member of this ship. They insisted she stay, and that they wouldn't hear any more about handing her over. She knew that she wouldn't be able to convince them in any way, so she didn't try again. She sat down by the commodore, and didn't say another word.
She heard the questions and decided it best not to say anything. She couldn't identify the voice, and she had a feeling that was the key to it all. She didn't know the ship, and had no idea why anyone would want her right now.
Meanwhile....
"It seems that things are going well for us, we planned this perfectly. I would think soon the captain will have her revenge, and that Hekaran will know who is boss. To the captain!" Toran yelled, happy that they were winning. He was in the middle of enjoying his round of drinks with a few of his friends. He was the night shift, and right now they weren't needed.
"Another round of drinks, on me!" He yelled, and everyone cheered. "Drink up me hearties!"

"I'm Lianna, just came on the ship from the starbase."
“Ah, the Civilian,” Illito said, and smiled. “Welcome aboard the ship.”
Lianna groaned a little as she placed a hand on Phantoms head, her face turned towards the voice. "Thank you Doctor." She smiled as she felt Phantom shift beneath her hand, obviously sniffing and learning the doctors scent. He would now know that this was a safe person for Lianna to be with. The doctor continued to speak.
"Yes, this is Phantom, he's my guide dog, he's part wolf and shepherd." she laughed as Phantom jumped up, his front feet back on the edge of the biobed, his tongue finding his mistresses cheek. "Get down you silly dog." She said as she gently pushed him back to the floor. "I think a shelf or something fell on me, all I remember is something heavy then nothing until waking up here. I'll need someone to come with me back to my quarters to find out what it was."
“Can you roll over a little to your left?” “Does anything still hurt?” Illito asked.
Lianna rolled over and gasped as a sharp pain passed through her legs but soon disipated.
"No doctor, it feels fine now. Thank you."
Illito saw that Lianna still seemed overall okay, but she should probably stay in sickbay for a while longer, just to be sure. Besides, a ship during battle wasn’t the best place for a blind civilian.
Lianna lay back on the biobed, her hand straying to Phantoms head. The fact they were obviously being shot at and that she'd ended up in sickbay not a good way to start her maiden voyage.
“Call me over if you need anything,” Illito said to Lianna.
"I'll be alright, I know you must have others to care for." Lianna said as she tried to relax, even though her senses were heighted and very sensitive at the moment.

Meanwhile, whilst the ship was at warp, Spiro was going over all the tactical systems making sure that if another attack was to take place, they would be ready. He stopped for a second and thought to himself that this day just cannot get any worse for me. We have had an unauthorised activation of the tractor beam, which Spiro still did not know what the cause was, he had the doctor asking him all the time to get to sickbay, and now this an attack from some lost old Federation Ship, who wanted a person that he had barley even looked at. The only Brightside of it all was that it would delay him from going to Sickbay for a while longer.
Smoke was coming from various places on the Bridge, and one by one they stopped as engineering was trying to quickly fix the problems. Spiro’s main aim at the moment was to try and get the Shields back up to a good percentage. Spiro also ordered extra security teams to be on all decks just in case the Shields did not hold and our new found friends decided to take this Ambassador by force. Spiro could see that the Commodore was not going to give up the Ambassador, he did not think that the enemy would destroy the Ship whilst the Ambassador was onboard, so the only other alternative they had was to board the Ship, if they should again confront them and the Shields should fail.
Everyone was running around the bridge trying to fix disabled systems then Spiro heard the helm officer shout.
“Commodore, we are reaching the Nebula.”
“On Screen” The Commodore shouted as everyone on the bridge looked towards the view screen.

Lianna felt so helpless, she could not see but could feel everything around her. She lay on the biobed, her hand caressing Phantoms head and ears. This wasn’t right, she had been told she had to be a productive member of this ship if she was going to stay. There was no way currently she could do anything and fulfill her promise to the Captain of the vessel ... or was there.
She sat up suddenly and searched with her ears as well as her other senses.
“Dr. Tintagel?” she called, not too loudly, hoping the doctor was nearby. Phantom jumping up, his front paws next to his mistress as his nose and tongue found her cheek.
<tag Illito>
Lianna patted the dog to calm him. “I’m ok.” she whispered to him.
Once the doctor came to her side she spoke again.
“Doctor, I really would like to go back to my quarters. I need my sensor net which I left there.”
She explained what it was and where it could be found. It was a knee-length vest she wore over her clothing which literally allowed her to see without Phantom if the need arose.
“I just hope it hasn’t been lost when the things in my quarters fell. Is it possible for someone to go look for it?”
Lianna asked not liking to disturb the medics and the doctor but knowing if she was going to hold up her end of the bargain she would need it. Phantom would always be close by, even when she wore the net but he would not have to be on the harness.

Illito had healed Lt. Yamill, as well she could, but the lieutenant kept glancing at the bandage at her right hand. “It’ll be fully healed within a few days,” Illito assured her.
“Oh, I know,” Aiko replied. “It’s just hard not to think about it, and I can’t really do anything until it’s healed. Not anything useful at least.”
“I don’t think that’s true,” Illito replied.
“What would you do without your right hand?” Aiko asked, as Illito checked the bandages briefly.
“I’d manage. You probably can’t do much precision engineering work now, but you can still do various things.”
“Yeah,” Aiko Yamill replied.
“Dr. Tintagel?” Illito heard someone call, and quickly identified as the voice of Lianna.
“Your hand seems fine, but I’ll come back and verify that, and then you’ll be able to leave sickbay,” Illito said to Aiko.
“Thanks,” Aiko replied.
Illito walked over to Lianna. “Doctor, I really would like to go back to my quarters. I need my sensor net which I left there.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Illito answered. “It might agitate your injuries.”
“I just hope it hasn’t been lost when the things in my quarters fell. Is it possible for someone to go look for it?”
“Yeah, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem, I’ll find someone to go fetch it for you,” Illito said, trying to think of someone she could send, since most of the sickbay staff were occupied. She noticed briefly that Lt. Avel was not currently working on a patient, but she guessed, probably correctly, that she would be annoyed if she asked him to run an errand. Normally Illito wouldn’t really care, but she had in mind someone better to do the job.
“How’s the hand?” Illito asked Aiko.
“Fine, I guess.”
“That’s good.” Illito scanned it again, to verify that. “It seems to be healing fine, so you’re free to go. But since you were just saying you don’t have much to do, would you mind doing a favor for me?”
“Depends on the favor,” Aiko replied, but smiled to show that she was probably willing to do it.
“One of the patients here has something left in her quarters that would probably help her recover,” Illito explained. “If you truly wouldn’t mind, I would like you to fetch it from her quarters.”
“Yeah, I can do that. What am I fetching, where are the quarters, and what does it look like?”
“A sensor net. It’s a knee-length vest. The room is on deck eight, and may be a bit of a mess, according to the patient’s description. And you have an emergency way to open the quarters, right?” Illito asked.
“Yes,” replied Aiko, a little surprised that she was being trusted in this way.
“Your immediately commanding officer, Commander Gray, seems to trust, and I’m relying on her recommendation,” Illito said, as if she had read Aiko’s mind, but Illito simply felt that it had to be said.
------------
Aiko nodded, and quickly left sickbay, and headed for the quarters. She found them easily enough, but when she entered she found that they were a mess. She sighed, and tried to fix the shelf with her good hand and no tools, but found she was unable to do so. She realized that an engineering team was going to have to be sent down here.
She decided to just search for the net, and found some sort of vest. When she held it up she found that it was about knee length, and seemed to fit the rest of the description, so Aiko left the quarters, and headed back to sickbay. “Here you are,” she said, giving the sensor net to the doctor.
------------
Illito was busy when Lt. Yamill came in, but she finished with the patient she was working with, then turned. “Thank you,” she said.
“One thing,” Aiko said. “The quarters were a ruin, Engineering should probably be sent down there to fix them up.”
“Engineering might be a little busy now,” Illito said hesitantly.
“Right. I haven’t noticed a phaser blast hit us recently.”
“Perhaps we have negotiated a ceasefire,” Illito hoped.
“Maybe,” Aiko replied.
Illito nodded, then accepted the sensor net, and gave it to Lianna. “What will this help with?” Illito asked Lianna, curious.
<Tag Lianna>
“Is there anything else I can get you?” Illito said.

"Fire at will, stop them!" Sethe screamed as blood trickled down her forehead.
"We cannot, that last barrage took out our engines, we will have them back on line in ten minutes," the helmsman reported from his station.
Sethe's anger rippled over and she hit anything in site. The only reason she stopped destroying her bridge was because the pain had become unbearable.
"Where are they headed?" Sethe asked knowing that at least the ship wouldn't be able to contact Starfleet. She had made sure that the Scavenger's communications would be out for a very long time.
"They headed into the Magyar Nebula."
"Will our sensors be able to track them inside?" Sethe asked.
"No, the nebula's active elements interfere with our scanners."
"Damn, Rela's luck never runs out," Sethe seethed as she sat down on her chair," once the engines are back on line I want us to get to that bloody nebula. I want to be their when they come out."
"Understood."

The doctor stepped away and Lianna could hear her speaking to someone nearby. She lay back on the biobed, Phantom still with his front feet on the edge, nuzzling her hand while she wait.
Lianna was glad that the ship had stopped shaking at least and could feel the decrease in the anxiety of sickbay.
She frowned when the other person, whom she did not know, returned and reported that her quarters were in shambles. She took the sensor net from Illito when it was offered to her and replied to her question. “What will this help with?” Illito asked curious.
Lianna explained how the vest allowed her to see more and be able to get around without Phantoms help. How it helped enhance her empathic abilities to be able to see. She slowly slipped it over her head and closed her eyes briefly while her body adjusted to the added stimuli.
“Is there anything else I can get you?” the doctor asked..
“No thank you. I would like to go back to my quarters as soon as possible and try to clean up the mess.. “ she paused. “With your permission of course.”
Lianna waited while the doctor contemplated this.

The USS Scavenger, Vagabond Class ship assigned to Section 47 1st Fleet 2nd Squad looked as if it had gone through a 20th century blender. Phaser and torpedo blast were clearly visible on the hull of the ship and the normal blue glow of the warp nacelles was faulting. The USS Scavenger was as close to death as possible. Yet inside its bruised and charred walls their was a bustle of life and activity.
The entire ship had gone into overdrive as they realized that they had retreated from battle, something that no Federation crew ever wanted to do. Lt. Commander Grey was down in engineering trying to keep the engine and ship in its seems. Doctor Tintagel at the moment was receiving multiple casualties and at the same time trying to help the current Scavenger civilian.
Commander Cavit had surprised everyone as she walked onto the bridge and started helping and working along everyone else. Commander Vassiliou was working with much effort on restoring the tactical systems that the Scavenger was currently lacking. Commodore T'Mar was hard at work trying to help anyway she could. Lt. Hirao was easing in the ship into the violent atmosphere that was the Magyar Nebula and Lt. Junior Grade Anderson and Lt. Commander Apirana were working vehemently trying keep the ship from being destroyed under the current situations.
"Katie, we need to realign the ship's working shields so that they can keep the ship protected from the electrical outburst of the nebula," Paikea said wanting to scream instead of trying to keep things together.
<Tag Katie>
"What do you mean that we don't have enough power?" Paikea asked glaring at his closest friend."If we don't have the power we will die in this blasted nebula!"
<Tag Katie>
Katie at first didn't say anything as everyone on the bridge stopped what they were doing and looked at Paikea. He felt all of their stairs, and it was getting to him.
"Sorry, Katie, I shouldn't be screaming at you or anyone else, its just that...." Paikea said, but able to finish.
"I know, Pai, I know," Katie said as she went back to work. After a few minutes of working Katie once again got Pai's attention.
"Thanks, I hadn't thought about that," Paikea said as started the sequence of releasing the power cores of the hospital ship.
=^=Bridge to Engineering, please send a team of engineers to the hospital wing and take the power cores =^=
<Tag Gray>
"Commodore T'Mar if our plan works, we should be able to stay in this nebula until we finish most or if we are lucky all of our repairs," Paikea said hoping that someone else on the ship had some good news.

“Or you can wait, and someone else will be able to help with you it,” Illito said, not referring to Lianna’s blindness, though she realized as soon as she said it that it could be seen it that way. “Lt. Yamill said it may be a structural flaw, you might want to have an engineering team check it out, after they finish what they need to do.”
<Tag Lianna>
Illito could see that Lianna wanted to check out her quarters her first, and straighten them up, and Illito couldn’t think of any reason to say no, as long as Lianna didn’t overstrain herself, but the wounds weren’t serious.
“Yes, you can leave,” Illito said, and smiled. She would have restricted Lianna from active duty, but that didn’t seem necessary now.

=/\=Yes sir=/\= Aeryn replied, although her first reaction, the one she replied, was ’What? Why? No doubt the power was desperately needed for something or another. Aeryn sighed, and made a note to read the staff reports of the other senior staff, because she liked to know why she was doing things.
Aeryn sent Lt. Jael and Ensign Mirak to the hospital wing. She wished she could be doing the work up there, but she needed to coordinate things. Before she the battle she had heard that a new Chief Engineer was going to be sent to the ship, which was a relief, Aeryn hated being in charge.

"What do you mean that we don't have enough power?" Paikea asked glaring at his closest friend."If we don't have the power we will die in this blasted nebula!"
As if things were stressful enough Paikea had to start shouting at Katie just because she had informed him there was not enough power to go around.
Katie leaned in closer to Paikea as everybody's attention was turned to him after his outburst.
"Pai, I'm really scared right now and the last thing I need is for you to be shouting at me about how we are going to die if we don't get the shields up." Katie said just above a whisper.
"Sorry, Katie, I shouldn't be screaming at you or anyone else, its just that...." Paikea said, but able to finish.
"I know, Pai, I know," Katie said as she went back to work. After a few minutes of working Katie once again got Pai's attention.
"Commodore if we are going to get the shields powered up enough to be able to survive the nebula we are going to have to take all of our weapons offline." Katie said.
