OOC: Sorry to have been away but 80 hour work weeks and a new baby Boy have kept me swamped and too tired to properly interact.
IC: Having finally gotten over my allergic reaction to the anisthetic gas I sat at the Helm console and looked over the mission logs to see what I had missed. Which apparently was alot.
Although it pained me to think of how badly I had performed as a mentor to my Navigation cadet, I was thoroughly pleased with everything that I had seen with her abilities.
Hearing the announcement from the OPS console that the Aerowing was on approach to the Hanson I turned my attention to the viewscreen.
~Not bad, a little wobbly, a little overcorrection there~
I thought to myself as I critiqued her approach and landing.
"Aerowing safely docked" Came the report again from the Hanger bay.
"Commander Gordon, as soon as your Cadet makes it back to the bridge set us a course for home."
acknowledging the order I began changing some random variables on the readouts to do an awareness check on Ms. Paris.

Tony moaned as the moments of sleep dwindled and the light soaked into his eyes. Reluctantly he fully opened them and was shocked to find himself in sickbay. Hadn't he been on the bridge with the Maquis attacking them?
Immeadiatly he saw Yrdis Blayne, Cadet Zoe, and Illito Tintagel.
".......I imagine that waking up in a different place than where you fell asleep might be rather disorienting and alarming.” Tintagel was saying. 'Indeed' Tony thought to himself though he doubted the comment was directed at him in the context he was taking it.
Tony waited until the converation was over and Tintagel had left before sitting up.
"Mr. Blayne. Cadet Zoe." He asked quietly and officially. The counsellor whipped his head around to meet his gaze. The cadet followed suit.
"Marcell." Yridis whispered before speaking in a loud, cheerful (and counsellor-like) voice, "Hello, Tony. How are you doing?"
Tony raised an eyebrow at him, since when were they on first name basis? "Commander Blayne- What is going on and why am I in sickbay?" He demanded, very confused.

S'reena too, was relieved to hear the Aerowing had safely docked. All in all, the cadet had done a good job flying the shuttle on her own while her instructor saw to keeping the Hanson in orbit.
"That is good to hear cadet," S'reena replied, smiling to herself, "I am very relieved to hear that he's doing well. Thank you for your suggestion, but I believe I have just the person in mind to assist me with her abilities. Doctor Salek, who teaches on starbase Conqueror, is a very good friend of mine and he's a Vulcan. I'm sure you are aware of the fact that Vulcans are usually trained telepaths, especially those in the medical field."
She signed off the connection and returned her gaze to the main viewscreen, deciding that she'd stop by the captain's quarters later to see for herself how he was fairing. Only several minutes earlier a report had come in that the Borg were infected by a cybernetic virus, and that Black was unable to cure them. She had instantly called for the USS Darwin, a Horizon class medical ship, which would arrive at Theta Aries only hours after the Hanson would leave orbit.
"Commander Rio, report on warp engine status," she called, deciding it was about time they had warp capability back."
Just as she was expecting a response, the Cardassian medical cadet walked onto the bridge, carrying her youngest child. Surprisingly, the infant seemed to be asleep. "You seem to have an affinity for my youngest cadet," S'reena smiled, as she cradled her daughter.
"Did the medication I gave you help?" Illito asked, seemingly ignoring the XO's comment.
S'reena nodded. "Yes, they worked quite well thank you. The dizziness has passed and I am feeling much better. I will stop by sickbay for a final check-up when my duty-shift finishes." Upon the cadet's scrutinizing glance, S'reena smiled. "You have my word cadet," she added knowing that, given her past history with being told to report to sickbay, the cadet didn't believe her.
"Oh, how is Ms Anderson doing? If she's awake I'd like her and Franklin to work with you and Black on a report to send to Starfleet Medical. If the Borg cannot be cured, this region must be quarantined."
~ jumping ahead a few hours, after reporting to sickbay~
S'reena stood before Marcell's quarters and hesitated a long moment. She could not predict how the captain, whom she actually did consider to be a friend, and whom she still respected, would react to her presence. At last she knocked on the door, resolved to face him and deal with the consequences. "I heard you are feeling better," she said, after he'd called for his visitor to enter. She gave him a wry smile as she walked in. "I wanted to make sure for myself, even though I trust Mr Blayne's word," she explained, though in her own mind she thought it was a rather weak excuse to go checking on the captain.
She didn't exactly meet his gaze, but she also didn't make a point of avoiding it. "How much do you remember of the past few days?" she finally dared asking.

“You seem to have an affinity for my youngest, cadet,” S'reena smiled at Yarna.
“Did the medication I gave you help?” Illito asked, deciding that she didn’t really deserve the complement, so she choose to ignore it.
S'reena nodded. “Yes, they worked quite well thank you. The dizziness has passed and I am feeling much better. I will stop by sickbay for a final check-up when my duty-shift finishes.” Illito glanced at S’reena, she had already had her fair share of people saying they would report after duty and then not going off duty. Like Paris. S'reena smiled. “You have my word cadet,” S’reena added. Illito shrugged, she supposed it would have to do. Even if she would have preferred something stronger than a promise. Illito didn’t trust in promises.
“Oh, how is Ms Anderson doing?” S’reena asked. “If she's awake I'd like her and Franklin to work with you and Black on a report to send to Starfleet Medical. If the Borg cannot be cured, this region must be quarantined.”
“Cadet Anderson could use some more rest, but she is fit enough for duty.” Illito paused, considering. “Oh, has the Aerowing returned then?” Illito asked.
“Yes,” Commander Hope replied.
“Hmm.” Illito nodded. When she had returned to sickbay, she tapped her commbadge. “Cadet Tintagel to Cadet Paris, please report to sickbay as soon as able.” Illito tried to prevent her tense feelings to penetrate her voice and she succeeded, mostly.
She then checked up on Anderson and decided the other cadet was fit for duty. Anderson seemed relieved. “Commander Hope wants us to work with Instructors Franklin and Black to send a report to Starfleet Medical,” Illito relayed. “I guess that we should get started soon.” Illito turned to Matai, and smiled thinly. “As soon as Cadet Paris reports, please contact me,” Illito requested. “Thank you.”

They stood in silence for a few moments before S'reena said, "How much of the last few days do you remember?"
He looked at her, "Not much." He said rubbing his temple's, "But I keep having unexplained feelings and thoughts. Many towards you, S'reena. On the way here I saw an ensign, and I felt a dislike for him though I had never met him before. It was his uniform that annoyed me and I have no idea why."
He sat down on his sofa and S'reena took the chair opposite him. "Right now I have the wish to attack you. There is no reason for it. I can control it but I don't recall having random emotions like this since I was in grade school." He noticed a bruise around her neck and wondered what it was from.
"Did Commander Blayne fill you in?" She asked cautiously.
"No... he said it was better to move gradually- whatever that means... and I can't even have a drink to calm my nerves- he's restricted my replicator access!" He exclaimed. He thought he saw her smile but it vanished almost immeadiatly.
S'reena was now silently regarding him, as though wondering what to say, "Captain... while I believe Yrdis is a very qualified counseller, I feel the need to fill you in on the basics..."
"Go on." He said, very curious as to what was happening.
"Well... you came on duty drunk, captain.." Tony lowered his eyes. He remembered that part, though dis-jointedly. "We were attacked by the Maquis, and I thought it un-wise to have you commanding in your condition, so I ordered security to take you to the brig. Do you remember that?"
"No..." He said quietly. If this was only the beginning of the story, he wondered what else had happened.
"I had thought you were just going to sleep it off... you know, then we could deal with it... but you escaped the brig and defected to the Maquis vessel. You joined a Maquis ground force and, apparently out of simple hatred of starfleet officers, proceeded to attack your former crew." Tony's head was reeling now, this was crazy, he remembered none of this. He would never have defected to the Maquis!
"If we speed this up a bit, Anderson and I retrieved you from the Maquis after you almost killed the Maquis commander in anger. You were transported to sickbay... where.... you.... well.... tried to kill me- twice." He looked at her blankly. He was the one who had put the bruise on her neck. This was why he was having these angry feelings toward her. "You thought you had killed me and performed the Klingon Death ritual. Perhaps that was the only thing honorable you did in the past few days, captain."
Tony felt drained. He had felt bad before but now he was wanting to just die and not deal with any of this. But with difficulty he somehow managed to maintain his composure.
"What about the ship?" He asked, "How much damage did my....thing... cause?"
"The ship is fine sir. It was tight for a bit but we fought them off. They nearly destroyed the planet though, with a torpedo at the sun, but Anderson and Franklin fixed that problem."
"What about the borg... did we cure them?" He asked not meeting her gaze.
"No, captain, Jason said there was nothing we can do. But I've sent for the Darwin, maybe they can do something. Illito, Anderson, and Paris are assisting their instructors right now to compile a report for Starfleet. We are on our way back to base."
Tony nodded silently before looking at her again, "I'm sorry, commander, I think I'm going to need some time to deal with all this."
OFF: Tag: S'reena, Zoe and everyone else.
Paris, Anderson, and Tintagel: Assist Commmander's Franklin and Black compiling the report. It shouldn't take long. We're going to be at Conqueror soon.
Owens: Repairs.
Zoe: You've had instructions I believe.
We'll be arriving at Conqueror soon. Awesome guys, you've done a very good job on this mission! The fleet is going to be very happy to have a bunch like you people joining them.

ooc: actually graduation was supposed to be posted yesterday, so I am going to do so within the next hour, first rounding off this mission....
ic:
S'reena nodded in understanding. "There is no need to be sorry captain, apparently you had quite a few personal items to deal with lately. While there would be a formal enquiry, I doubt Starfleet is going to hold it against you. I would suggest you return to partial duty soon, if only to have yourself occupied with something, rather than sulking in your quarters."
Then she smiled softly. "Would you believe me when I say that Yarna would not leave your side? The only time when she was quiet was when she was with you. Whenever Michael or me tried to take her from sickbay she'd start crying inconsoleably, but she fell silent as soon as she was near you again. Cadets Zoë and Tintagel did some testing and they confirmed that she has a rare empathic gift...rare for Romulans that is."
S'reena rose from her chair and smoothed her uniform. "I need to go back to the bridge, we will be docking at Conqueror within an hour. I would like you to be there when we dock." She smiled encouraginly at him and patted his shoulder carefully. "Everything will turn out just fine captain, don't worry. The senior staff may not like you for a while, but I am counting on their loyalty towards you. I could've despised you for trying to kill me, and for defection to the Maquis, but I don't. I don't see the need, nor do I harbour you any ill will. In fact, my loyalty to you brought me to bring about the actions that I have."
With that, she walked out of the captain's quarters and headed straight for the bridge. Surprisingly, Cadet Anderson, back in uniform and looking much better, instantly got up and held out a PADD towards her. She accepted it with a smile and sat down before turning her attention towards the PADD's contents. ~they're quick~ she thought, a satisfied smile appearing on her face.
"Well done cadet," she praised Anderson, but also praised the others in that one little line. She handed the PADD back to the cadet. "You may send it off to Starfleet," she added, then gazed at the main screen. Conqueror was looking on the main screen. "ETA to Conqueror?" she asked.
"15 minutes ma'am," Paris replied from helm, and S'reena saw Gordon nod his confirmation. She looked up when she heard the doors from the turbolift slide open and shut, and smiled when she saw Marcell, dressed in a fresh uniform and cleanly shaved, enter the bridge. The Romulan first officer got up and relinguished the command chair to the commanding officer.
"ETA 15 minutes," she repeated with a smile, and gave him a quick briefing on the report that was being sent to Starfleet.
15 Minutes later, Cadet Paris guided the Hanson to the starbase docking area, docking the Intrepid class vessel all on her own, without Gordon having to step in to make course corrections. "To all crew, welcome back to Starbase Conqueror," S'reena announced over shipwide intercom.
She pulled Marcell's sleeve to get his attention. "You better prepare for the graduaton ceremony," she said, and smiled radiantly when she saw his shocked expression. "Of course you are going to lead the ceremony," S'reena insisted, "you may have been, unbeknownst to yourself, on the wrong side of people, but you are still the commanding officer of this ship. And as such, it is your duty to perform the ceremony."
<continuing on SBC in a few minutes!>
