Cadet Fourth Class Paul Cain stepped off of the shuttle craft into the docking bay. This was the first time he had been anywhere by himself since the slave camp he was kept captive on during his adolescent years.
He was a hard and emotionless man.But a fair man and just because he didn't show emotion it didn't mean he didn't have it.
He was the kind of person who would stick up for a klingon rather than a human if the case was the human being wrong.
Flahbacks haunted him of the slave camp and reminded him of the death of both he and his brothers parents. As he looked onto the base of multirace pavillion both civillian and academy.
Even though he was a man good with science and a dab of engineering. His sense of direction sucked. He had been told where to go, But now as he walked out onto the station he found them not making an aweful lot of sense.
So he decide to stop somone. But at the speed these people were moving that was gonna be a hard task.
Finally he gave up on that idea and went to the quarters on campus. He began looking for his quarters and saw a number of other academy Cadets moving from room to room getting to know each other.
He hoped this would not be the case for him even though he was a fair man he did like to keep his own company. As it turned out this was gonna be hard to keep.
A cadet brushed past him and the like a preminission it hit him.He was gonna be forced into a life of socialism.Damn.
He found his quaters.
"Open"He shouted over the noise in the corridoor. Then doors opened and he rushed in.
The doors automatically closed behind him and the feeling of quiet hit him.He sighed.
The one place where it would be quiet.Unless someone was going to disrupt that by introduceing themselves.
Paul didn't do buddies.Colleagues yeah but he couldn't stand to lose someone else close to him again.
He put his bag on his bunk and sat behind his desk.
He would unpack and report on board later.
