Although the mission is not slated to begin until Monday March 5th, OOC discussion can start now.
This thread is for OOC discussions about the mission so that we can keep the mission thread clear of "small talk."

Like for starters: No matter how much you trust your XO, DON"T give him access to your profile so he can do some moderator stuff since his immature little sense of humour shall prevail over any sense of respect he has for your authority.
Frek, to the brig!
I mean: Mooo Mooo Mo Mooo
I am tempted to keep this up for the rest of the day, it amuses me and I saw it coming

Alright then, although for me it is still Sunday, it's Monday in most of the world so I started the mission.
You will note that at the bottom of Frek's and my posts is something resembling: (120982/1074/1) This is a count of a) IC words posted on the Nevada since we joined b) words posted this mission c) posts this month
If I could get everyone to keep track of their word count over the month and their post count that would make my job writing up the ship's report and the stats a million times easier.

For those who want to have some information about Risa, here's the link to the memory-alpha wiki. It has some generic though perhaps useful information on this fantastic resort planet. memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Risa

Hi all things seem to be in the works for me to join the Nevada. As my character is was a MD before he transfered to the Marines I thought I'd fill in as CMO unless you need me somewhere else. I am a firm believer that Marines are more than shoot first and ask questions later. To be honest I'm not sure where to jump in on the present thread. Unless you object I will start a thread to get Traks from SB 47 to the Nevada and explain his reduction in rank from Colonel to Major. I look forward to simming with this crew.
Major James Traks

Welcome onboard the Nevada Mr. Traks. I hope you will have a good time simming with us. As you may have gathered from the mission outline, this is one is very open and shouldn't provide much trouble for you to write yourself into the story. You are welcome to start a thread explaining some of your characters background, I'm sure that will be to the crew advantage.
I have a question though, are you joining the crew as a marine or the new CMO?

Hi All;
Here's the problem with Mr. Traks being the new CMO. I understand you're also looking for a new Counsellor. Problem is, T'Pren is a Vulcan. Not exactly counsellor material. She'd make a very efficient Doc, but not much of a shoulder to lean on. If it's ok with you guys, I'd like to recommend that Mr. Traks join as a Marine, and that I take the CMO position. It just works out better for my character that way.
Any objections, James?
-T'Pren

I think that would be best if Tracks agrees.
Look at this full crew we have!

A few days ago I was going to post something along the lines of: Come on guys, post! But then you did..... without being asked. *does captain's happy dance* I love my crew! Remember if any one of you is lost, confused, stuck, whatever PLEASE do not suffer silently, PM or e-mail me or something.

For those who wonder what something is, smoke signals will do on a clear day. Drum signals works as well, but if you live far away, make sure to beat on it a bit harder than you usually would. Captain, I tried lightsignals the other day but you didn't respond to it, we shouldn't use those anymore?

Oh, that's what those flashing lights where. I though the neighbor kid was out with his mirror blinding passing drivers again. Next time try english flashing light signals, you know I don't know dutch.
For your conveniance we have a Command member stationed in both Europe and North America, but If you live in Asia, Australia or Africa you're out of luck.

Smoke signals!! Perfect for the Vulcan Indian!!
As long as you have someone on the other end who can interpret them in Mohawk! If not, then I'm up that famous creek!
LOL!
As for drum signals, maybe Melaine will hear them if I sing a nice intertribal song with them! Or a sidestep dance? That might work too!
Seriously though, it's nice to see another Canuck on these boards. Where from, Lorre? I'm Southern Ontario, GTA just northwest of Toronto.

WoooooHooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! She finally made it!! *does Irish tribal dance, finished off with a rousing jig*
And timely, too, in a glacial sense...lol...Stephens was running out of scenery and was longing for those good ol' Neanderthal days, when he could just drag T'Pren back to his Senior Officer's cave...Welcome aboard, Robyn..

Yay! Glad to have you on board T'Pren (Robyn)
I'm from Northern Alberta, not one of *those* Albertans though. I do not own a cowboy hat or a truck or work in the oilfields
Hehehe, the Canadians are taking over the ship

Frek, you should just be happy that with these recent transfers you are no longer the only guy on the ship and T'Pren, remember when the Maple syrup pours slow, the canoes are red and the beavers rabid we act *shifty eyes*

I don't know where T'Pren is. She hasn't responded to my last private emails to her. And Stephens is quite stuck there on the portico, in her presence, waiting for her to speak. I've been trying to figure out how to move along, but I can't.
So I'm going to use the NPCs, the Drs. Holliday, for a while, until things normalize, if they are going to do that. It's lucky everyone's had LOAs and posting hasn't been as frequent as it would have been. It's been almost 2 weeks since my last post. The Hollidays may or not be involved in the mission plot, but at least they give me a way to continue.

Connor You can join Frek, Josh and myself in simming since you were tagged in my post. Although I am not sure what T'Pren's stance on people NPCing her character, we could take her with us.
Things are slow over all right now because of LOAs and final exams

I appreciate your sentiments, Lorre, and I'm willing to do that. But I want to give T'Pren just a little more time, for healing and whatever else may be going on with her. By the weekend, if she hasn't responded, we'll pick it up as you suggested.

I'm from rural Ontario, and I own 2 cowboy hats, just sold my old '84 Dodge Ram Pickup truck (don't need a 3/4 ton anymore!!!) and although I don't work on the oilfields, I do admit to a certain amount of S**tkicking while working with the local Fair Board, on our Fall Fair. I'm a hick, and I LOOOOVE it!!!
