I want to make a list of the NPC pilots and RIOs that will be in the flight wing. And I need feedback so I thought I could post up this thread and ask for opinions. Plus we could all use it as a general OOC thread for Shore Leave or whatever else. Since there are forty of those fighters and it takes two persons...I really don't want to make up 80 npcs. I'm thinking I should start light, maybe 20, but even 20 sounds like quite a bit...hmmm maybe 10. And perhaps there could be two squadrons..twenty fighters each. That would give Leo (and I) our own brace of pilots to be over. And we could have some npcs as deck crew, maybe these would be a mix of Ops and Engineers? Any thoughts?

As a counselor, I would have a total of 38 +/- assistants and interns. Three shifts with Gamma Shift having a skeleton crew. Three 1st assistants to the head counselor, each one taking on-call duty as scheduled.
I would pick three NPCs to write for and use the others as required or for fun. But to try to write for 38 counselors/interns would drive me over the brink.
If you were to specify how many crew you have under your command and briefly mention their duties, we would all get the idea of the size of your staff. To do more than that would drive YOU up a wall.
;D

Oh lordy no, I'm not going to write for 10, 20 or even 40 npcs. I would just have them listed as being members of the flight wing and interact with them sparingly. Writing for one character is all I can manage at the moment.

I don't see it necessary to come up with names for every NPC involved in the Flight Wing. The higher-ranking ones certainly (10 or so maybe), but every single one? No. I've never created a list of every NPC under me, because you just don't need to know all that to write the mission. And having an established list can limit your creativity when you want to put an NPC in there for the story.
As for as NPC deck crew, the Engineer in charge of fighter maintenance is a Lieutenant James Selgur. When needed, he's also the specialist technician that maintains Dan's holographic prosthesis. The deck crew would more likely be Engineers than Ops.

I would suggest an NPC thread for those NPC's that you plan on using on a regular basis, or you know that they are with you on a more permanent basis.
We have one on the Jefferson board. Come on over and check it out. I update/edit the main post whenever someone gives me NPC input. I also note on there who the NPC belongs to (for those that have owners that is).

This is just an observation, and by no means meant to be negative, but the Nevada boards could use some cleaning up. There's threads that haven't been active in months and pieces of old missions laying around. Are any renovations in the works or is this how the boards usually look?

That should be taken care of as soon as you have an official CO. None of us have had real mod powers since we lost Lorre, so we've had to make due. That'll probably be at the top of the new CO's agenda though.

The Nevada has been in limbo for awhile, being without an official CO who would normally have the power to run this board.
In the future, use your COC (Chain of Command) and refer such things via PM to your acting XO, then CO, or myself as your SQCO.
Thank you!

And, to clarify, the Acting XO is Connor Stephens, and the Acting CO is me. But, to keep everything straight, within the missions (or in the present case, the Shore Leave thread) I am First Officer and Connor is Chief Science Officer. Within the mission threads, David Ramsey is still the Acting CO, NPC'ed by me.

Did I miss something somewhere? I just saw Nack's name on the command bar of this vessel. Is that true?
