(Thanks to Lucy for reminding me of this...)
Alright everyone, you all know the drill. It's a new month, so everyone report in! And let me know of any LOA's this month you are aware of.
Commander Dan Trek, CEO/Acting CO, talking to myself, sir!
*still talking to himself* That's a bad sign you know.
No, it's not!
Yes it is.
No it's not!
;D

Lt Connor Stephens reporting for duty. Didn't realize that my CO was deranged, however.
Is it possible to have a mission soon? I think that the shore leave is pretty much dead.
And...when are we going to straighten out the command stuff (permanent CO, etc)?
Just curious. I think having marines aboard has made me jittery.

That may be true, but how often do marines realistically interact with Science officers? This isn't a reflection of this site at all, but I have past experience where there were Marines aboard, and their actions completely overwhelmed the mission plots, making character development impossible for those not Marines. Please understand, it isn't a criticism, just a fact of different points of view.

Sweethearts, I am not replying to the November 07 roll call which has not been called yet. My work load is heavy and getting a bit heavier alla time. Even once a week posting is weighing me down. Sorry, guys. There's a book called Persephone's Kiss that I'm trying to finish, also. Think of me when you're driving around alone. ~Lucy --- Noted from Oct 07 LOA thread ---
I would appreciate if everyone else who hasn't given their status yet would report in. We are going to begin a mission on Thursday or Friday, and I would like to know who we have on hand.
As for me, I'll be here the entire month of November.
Remember that US Thanksgiving is coming up for when you post your availability.
Thanks!

Please understand, it isn't a criticism, just a fact of different points of view. The interaction between Marines and any person/officer on a starship can happen a lot during simming. i dont think character development of any type is dependent always on how other are simming. each department will sim or write differently especially when there is different people writing their different point of view in any story. in my opinion, Marines, fighter wings and any position on a ship (science, tactical medical etc..) are a chain. You can not ask a science officer to go assault a fortified place or rescue hostages , and you can not ask a Marine to go do a full biological scan for a planet or other stuff. Marines depend on science for data and even they might escort a science team into hostile environment, while science officers depend on the Marines to defend them from enemy while doing research or other stuff.

I agree with that, Jamil, and it sounds great. I was just pointing out my experiences in other situations with Marines, and expressing my concerns that it doesn't happen here.
IC, you will probably see Stephens wrestling with this, though. He doesn't like weapons and believes always in diplomatic solutions first. He also much prefers exploration to military action. But he also understands the need for defense. Generally, he is ambivalent about the whole Marine thing. Maybe we could make some posts playing off this ambivalence. Character development in a new direction.

I cant wait to see how my character developement will take part too on the the Nevada. it is know in startrek environment the existance of tence between Marines and fleeters. they uswally dont like each other and every one think he is better than the other. so during the simming you will read a lot of problems even fighting between them which lead to new type of character development especialy when they will be forced to work together in some hard and critical missions. let's give our best during mission simming and we will see where our character development will reach . Marines rules OOORRAAAHHHHHH

On ENT you never saw much interaction between the MACOs and the rest of the crew. Marines are a pretty well knit group so I doubt you'll see them interacting with the Fleet crew on a daily basis. Plus I have a bunch of pilots to look after so my schedule will be full.

Hi guys.... it seems that I disappeared again, but yeah I'm here. Since we're having a fighter wing, would it be okay if I take one for a ride. I promise not to scratch it or anything. Commander Trek can speak towards my abilities as a pilot

I thought I would go ahead and check in too.
I'm Scott McLean the Chief Engineer of the USS Raven and I'm going to be helping out as the Mission Specialist due to my past experience on the Raven with the Brain. I can tell ya that I'm looking forward to seeing how things are done on other ships in the fleet. I've heard nothing but good things about this crew so far.

Josh Reo ought to be around somewhere. And don't forget T'Pren Ironhorse, our CMO, wherever she may be.

Josh Reo has requested to be transferred to TO due to time conflicts with real life.
I shall email T'Pren, also, asking her of her status. The list above is everyone who has reported in... I'm sure there are more than just that though.
Thanks Mr. Stephens.

Sorry guys, i'm here.
I'm going to try to post more, but my RL schedule is filling up, this is what my weekly routine is probably going to be for the next while:
all my school courses, 20 hour a week job(3 days a week), cadets(2-3 days a week) and maybe one free night in th week, like i said, its filling up, and i'm going to try my best to post, i'm posting this at like 12:45 in the morning, since this is like the only time i could be on a forum for the past while. Don't discount me yet.

Having already talked to other crew-members, I believe you are not alone in having only a small amount of free time.
If you find yourself unable to post for a few days in a row, just post a Leave of Absence to let us know that you haven't forgotten about us. It makes it easier for the people not on leave to write, since they will know not to tag you until you are able to post again.
The current mission is up, and the Marines need to be practicing their maneuvers until we reach the research facility. I promise, there will be plenty to shoot this mission . I'll see to it - just hang in there.

Agreed, but I'm not going to put in the official transfer just yet. Mr. Imad hasn't been officially transferred yet, and I am in the process of trying to contact him.

It just occurred to me to mention this. I'll be out of town and unable to post the 21st-23rd. We're going out of town tomorrow, and won't be back till late Friday. Might be able to post Friday, but probably not.
Sorry for the late notice.

Aye, thanks for the notice. 'tis no problem.
I'll have board access, but will be out of town for the entire weekend. It shouldn't have any effect on my posting frequency, however.
